Dotcom Research Paper
The Dotcom Bubble During the 1990s, as the Internet became available to the public and usage of it
was on the rise, new start up companies (start ups) within the technology industry emerged. The
Internet and technological advancements at the time enabled these companies to rapidly spread the
word about their business; people were excited. The revolutionizing start ups, known as Dotcom
companies, (Dotcoms) embraced the Internet as key components of their business ( Dotcom ) and
experienced spectacular initial public offerings (IPOs) and rapid increases in stock prices. This
eventually led to a bubble; a bubble that burst in the early 2000s. Economics scholars Stephen G.
Cecchetti and Kermit L. Schoenholtz explain that the Nasdaq Composite Index (Nasdaq), a stock
market index that is composed of numerous small start ups as well as large information technology
(IT) firms, doubled in value from September 1999 to March 2000, then fell by 70 percent over the
next year (209). Along with the bursting bubble came financial distress that spread across the entire
economy. Because Dotcoms were prominent in the bubble, the bubble has later been called the
Dotcom Bubble. To fully understand the Dotcom Bubble, however, one must understand how bubbles
are created, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Erbert, Roger. Great Movie Citizen Kane. Roger Erbert. 24 May 1998. Web. 31 January

In Roger Erbert s article, Great Movie Citizen Kane , Erbert argues what the word Rosebud truly
means and its significance to Welles film. Erbert gives some history of how Welles created the film
and later on explains how along with a personal story, the film provides a story of a specific period of
time. He then goes on to explain how it truly simple it is to understand who Kane is by the way story
is told. Erbert explores this through Citizen Kane having a circular structure that allows the audience
to receive a more clear understanding every time the film passes over Kane s life. An example Erbert

Truitt s article, Citizen Kane Just As Important Today , focuses on what Welles did in his film,
Citizen Kane, to achieve the greatest film of all time and send the future of cinema in a new direction.
Truitt begins by sharing that in today s modern society, a majority of people wouldn t even think of
comparing Citizen Kane to new films. He then commences to explain why Citizen Kane is still
characterized as the greatest movie. He justifies this by stating five major reasons that all give
particular examples of what Welles embedded into the film first before any other director. An example
Truitt uses is how Welles broke the mold with his film making by

Shorelines Over Time
I would have to say trying to stabilize the different shorelines can possible contribute to its erosion
over time. The various techniques for helping to preserve our n shorelines could possibly include
building a habitat somewhat artificially to help protect the shoreline. As well, someone may wish to
secure the local vegetation in a range that will likewise give an environment to diversion and natural
life in the region. However, one would say these processes are temporary as a result the movement of
sediment is always changing. All the same, it is a phenomenal approach to attempt to secure the
shoreline. Shoreline erosion is a natural process that takes place on lakes, streams, waterways and
along the coast. It is the progressive, albeit

Nature Of Human Tissue Specimens Within Museum Collections
The specimen is relatively rare with regard to other gynaecological pathology specimens, and is
relatively complete, although there have been some modifications made through time for the safety of
the human tissue. The specimen is significant for the interpretive potential that it holds, however it is
limited by the lack of documented provenance, given that some of the information obtained is
anecdotal oral history and cannot be verified through documentation.
Within the last twenty years, the controversial nature of human tissue specimens within museum
collections has sometimes led to their disposal, and the erosion of technical conservation skills relating
to this particular type of collection. The UCL Pathology Collection has in recent ... Show more content

[add source?] The first step towards further improving accessibility would be to expand public
opening hours in order to attract a wider audience than simply schools and people of UCL. This could
also be achieved through a more ambitious events programme that could include publically bookable
talks and activities.
Concerns are often raised about the appropriateness of human specimens in a class environment.
However, staff at the UCL Pathology Collection have found that children are not so much frightened
or disturbed by the specimens in the collections, rather they are intrigued and wish to understand more
about health issues and specimen collecting in the past. In this sense, pathology collections can be a
key way of presenting health concerns through object study, away from a dependence on photography
and diagrams in text books. Children in particular have been shown to respond well to learning
through object handling. Specimens and objects relating to the history of medicine have been
identified as having an almost unique ability to profoundly impact upon museum visitors (Arnold,
1999). The inherent relatability of human organs, and the pain inflicted through the use of medical
instruments, can both ignite curiosity and instil fear and repulsion. Medicine as a subject has grown
exponentially to include areas such as art, politics, and commerce as well as

Example Of A Femme Fatale
A femme fatale, a French term for fatal woman (Schimkowitz, 2014), is a strong willed, manipulative
woman who is as alluring as she is dangerous. She is an irresistibly attractive woman who leads a man
into difficult and dangerous situations with her seductive charms (Blakely, 2014). They used to be
physically characterized as fierce sexing looking women with sharp eyeliners. This female archetype
has been in existence since ancient times all around the world.
The first example of a femme fatale in this paper is Veda Pierce (Ann Blyth) in Mildred Pierce, which
was released in 1945, when many American soldiers returned from World War II. During the WWII
period, women were the main providers for their families while American men were at war, which led
to increase independent American women. Mildred Pierce, the mother of Veda, is one of the strong
women who is working hard to support herself and her children. In contrast to her mother s effort,
Veda takes advantage of her mother s kindness and money. She also betrays her by having an affair
with Monte Beragon, who is already married to her mother. Veda has the looks and knows how to use
her looks to attract men. And she is so ambitious that she does anything in order to get the most
important thing to her which is money to live the high class life. Ultimately, a femme fatale leads the
male into ruin. Veda fulfills this characteristic of the femme fatale by shooting Monte to death when
he denies that he is going to marry her.

Evolution Of New Load Balancing Model For Cloud Computing
Evolution of new Load Balancing model for Cloud Computing Abstract Cloud computing is a vital
part of this new era IT world or we can say that it is a technology of new age which are used to
connect data and application from anywhere around the planet through the internet. Anything and
everything from servers to mobile phones can be connected to the cloud. It has also yielded up some
new companies which are providing consumer a large range of services. Due to this the upcoming
companies can now better concentrate on its major purpose and not have to worry about installing
their own servers and about its maintenance. They can be very easily outsourcing it to these cloud
suppliers saving a lot of capital and energy investment by them. Now, ... Show more content on

Dynamic schemes are more complex and use system information whereas static schemes are bit
simpler and system informations are not used here. Dynamic schemes get changed whenever the status
of the system gets changed. In our paper we have used dynamic schemes for flexibility. In our model
there is a main controller and balancer which gather and analyze each and every information. We
aimed at the public cloud in this load balancing model because public cloud has enormous nodes with
distributed computing resources present in many different locations. In this model public cloud is
being divided into several cloud partitions and when the load and environment is very large and
complex, these partitions simplify the load balancing. Due to its main controller the cloud can choose
suitable partition for the jobs which are arriving whereas the balancer for each cloud partition chooses
the best load balancing strategy Fig: Everything on the Cloud [16] Related works: There have been
many studies of load balancing for the cloud environment. Load balancing in cloud computing was
discussed in a white paper by Adler [3] who introduced the tools techniques commonly used for load
balancing in cloud. However load balancing is still a new problem in cloud computing that

The Day At Marine Corps
A million thoughts were running through my head as we drove from Savannah, Georgia International
Airport in the dead of night. I along with 50 other new recruits were herded on to a bus and told to put
our heads down as they drove around for what seemed like hours. The recruiters used this as a
disorienting and scare tactic, so we would have no idea where we were. As we arrived at Marine
Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, I thought to myself, holy shit, am I really doing this? As the bus
pulled to a stop a drill instructor stepped on to the bus. He began shouting unintelligible words at us in
a raspy, gruff voice. The only words I was able to understand were off and bus . I didn t give it a

Little did I know that I would be spending night and day with this rifle and it would become a part of

put on all 50 pounds of gear and walked for what seemed like miles to our new home, 4th Battalion

were told to label all our new issued gear. 2 pairs of combat boots, 4 towels, 7 pairs of underwear, 7

the racks, I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. Being awake for 54 hours had taken its toll on
me. But I knew this was the easiest day we would have during our stay. I awoke the following
morning to shouts of LIGHTS, LIGHTS, LIGHTS! which meant get the hell out of bed as fast as you
can and stand on line. As we stood waiting for our instructions from our drill instructors, we could all
sense each others fear. For the next 13 weeks we would be told what to do how to think and when to
breath. Not only was it physical but also psychological, we would be torn down and built in to the
perfect Marine. After we were yelled at to get dressed in our camies, we marched down to the chow
hall. I had maybe 2 minutes to scarf down my

The Impact Of Budget Cuts On Educational Institutions And...
A society s culture is built through time and consists of many variables that can depend on many
different factors. For a person to understand the relativism of other cultures they must open their mind

an insider to gain the emic perspective of a culture as if I have lived in it. In this paper I will

Different American educational policies and practices can be determined by multiple factors such as
demographic considerations, budget concerns, economic impact and cultural values Shapiro (2013).
American higher education is described by Engell and Dangerfield (2005) as The fastest expanding
and often strongest motivation in American higher education is now money (as quoted in Bean, 2007,
page 240). For instance, budget cuts have been administered nearly all over the country but how does
it affect the institutions within that state. When states are unable to provide aid to school districts due
to budget cuts in our economy it in turn takes away needed courses that educate students that can be
an economic contributor later in life, Carter (2011). The United States Census Bureau (2013)
conducted a statistical analysis which analyzed the debt for each states school system finances, and the
analysis showed the annual debt for the state of Alabama school system was $5 million dollars by the
end of the fiscal school year. This will continue to increase with budget cuts increasing every year for
education across the United States and will be detrimental to the educational abilities of the school
districts to perform at a high level. According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, cuts to

The Exclusionary Rule
To determine whether or not the admission of evidence is constitutionally permissible can be a very
tough decision. There are many laws and regulations that must be adhered to in order for evidence to
be admissible to ensure that a defendant s right are not violated. One of the most important rules that
help protect against illegal evidence being admitted into evidence is the Exclusionary rule. This rule
helps to ensure that evidence which is admissible into criminal prosecutions are not only relevant and
reliable, but have not violated the fourth or fifth amendment due to misconduct. Specifically, the
exclusionary rule forbids evidence obtained by violating a defendant s constitutional rights to be
introduced by the prosecution for the purpose of proving direct guilt Gardner Anderson, 2013, pg. 218
219).Police misconduct often leads to evidence that can either be obtained legally through the use of
illegal evidence, evidence that is illegally obtained through violations of other rules, regulations, a
defendants rights, or evidence that is obtained illegally but falls under one of the exclusionary rule
exceptions such as the plain view doctrine (Gardner Anderson, 2013, pg. 219 221).
Based upon the facts, it is evident that the evidence obtained by Manning is admissible evidence due
to plain (open) view doctrine. The plain (open) doctrine states that if a law officer is where he or she
has a right to be and sees evidence or contraband in plain view, then the evidence

There Has Always Been A Stereotype That Says That Men Are
There has always been a stereotype that says that men are faster, stronger, taller, and just better at
athletics then females. Where as the other side to that stereotype is that females are flexible, have
better balance, and better have better endurance then males. The problem that theses stereotypes fall
into is a problem called gender logic which is where people are separated into different categories
which are gender categories and sex categories. You are put into these categories based on what type
of the stereotype that you fall into. This is the issue because it changes peoples perspective on what
sports are made just for males and sports that are made just for females based on these stereotypes that
come from this ideas of gender ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People think that football is to hard and physical for females because of them supposably being very
delicate and fragile due to the stereotype that everyone thinks about girls. That football is a male sport
due to the intensity of the sport and the repetitive physical contact throughout the game. Football is
known for for being a very hard sport to play and very rough sport as well which also make it a male
sport because the fact that it is rough so females shouldn t be able to play because it is to rough and
physical for them. The thing is that some girls can hang with they guys and compete in some of these
sports not all girls fall into the stereotype of being fragile and too sweet to play the sport of football.
These are all issues that fall into the problem of gender logic because people are making these sports
gender specific because the quality that you should have to play this sport fall under on that should be
played by just male athletes. These are all things that happen and make people think that football is a
males sport because of the perception that has been made, that football is a male only sport due to the
stereotypes and are associated with it. There was a case in St. Petersburg, Florida where a young girl
named Khara played right alongside young boys in a youth football league and proves that girls can
play just as good as the guys. In

Manifesto Of The Communist Party
The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party , is a pamphlet
written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the goals and objectives of
Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories about the nature of society in relation to the
political ideology. The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes
and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marx essentially presents a well
analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the means and modes
of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole.
Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will
determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is
inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. The Communist Manifesto features The
Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians, and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a
common frictional relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that
the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the
proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism.
The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that Communism is
established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form

Student Athletes For The University Of Ohio
Secondly, for student athletes who practice a sport and attend classes, it is often difficult to complete
both tasks. Many students begin to show less motivation making it harder to stay focus and attend
their required classes. This is the case of student athlete Cardale Jones, a quarterback for the
University of Ohio. After taking his sociology final exam, he commented that coming to class was
pointless when his only responsibility was to play football for the university (Tracy 1). Student
athletes start to show poor academic achievement when they consume a lot of time in their sports and
often forget about their role of being a student. For instance, when students are not able to complete
their school assignments during the day they decide to study late and do not sleep the necessary hours
they need in order for their bodies to function and their brains to focus. In this case, the poor
achievement in students is notable because they do not perform well in school and do not have a good
nutrition. They often do not have time to eat the required three meals a day that their bodies need. The
poor academic achievement is often noticeable when many coaches begin to tell their athletes that
they are not allowed to take classes that interfere with practice. This puts athletes in a barrier when
they have to balance the two roles of responsibility of attending class and completing homework
assignments and attending the games. Student athletes have a poor mental and physical body

The Causes Of The Korean War
Korea existed under Japanese control from 1910 until the end of World War II in 1945. After the war,
the Korean Peninsula was divided into two states along the 38th parallel. The Soviet union controlled
the communist north while the United States controlled the nationalist and anti communist south.
Soviet general Terentii Shtykov established the Provisional People s Committee for North Korea in
1946 and Kim Il sung became chairman. Shtykov broke North Korea s stratified class system,
nationalized critical industries, and as a result many fled to the south. Later that year, South Korean
citizens resisted the rule of the Allied Military Government and continued to resist despite violent
opposition until they declared their statehood in May 1948. Shortly after this, The Democratic People
s Republic of Korea was established, and Kim Il sung became the premier leader. Shtykov suspected
President Syngman Rhee of South Korea was planning an attack on North Korea, and so with the help
of Jospeh Stalin, North Korea launched an attack on South Korea on June 25th, 1950. This started the
Korean War, which was essentially a proxy war between America and the Soviets. The United Nations
force (led by the United States) assisted South Korea in the war. China assisted North Korea, and
would continue to follow this pattern of allying with North Korea until modern day. The war ended on
July 27th, 1953. An agreement was signed that restored the original boundary along the 38th parallel.

Factors That Play Into Choosing What Type Of Childcare...
There are several factors that play into choosing what type of childcare facility to open. Some
questions to ask are how many children do I wish to have? How about the age range for the children in
the center? The operating hours as well as operational days will determine what type of childcare you
will have to start. A child care center extends child care services, covering early learning openings, for
a set tuition in a center based setting. Child care centers are typically licensed by the state. Several
states excuse particular kinds of child care centers from licensing. State licensing guidelines give
direction regarding the number of children that can be enrolled and in what type of child care
program. A family child care home offers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several teachers that are available to the child and can help support each other. Licensing
requirements are done by state agencies, and usually safer. Training of teachers is regulated and is held
to a higher standard regarding health and safety. Center based child cares are inspected yearly. All
centers have a set curriculum and therefore more options to teach and learn. Center based child care is
dependable because you know the hours and days of operation will not change.
Now we will talk about the disadvantages of a center based child care. There are more children to take
care of since there will be larger groups. Having too many different caregivers or teachers may
confuse the child and steer away from consistency. Center based tuition can be more expensive,
especially when there are more than one child in the family. The businesses operating hours may be
outside the normal parenting work hours which leave no flexibility for drop off and pick up. Also, if a
child was to become sick, they would not be allowed to stay the remainder of the day, and cannot
return based on their symptoms until they are well again. Another type of childcare is a family home
based child care. This is when one teacher is caring for children in smaller groups. The type of setting
is probably located in the teacher s home which is operated as a small business. There are several
advantages of being part of a family home based daycare. There are smaller groups with have

revolutionary Assassin Mentor, Altair Ibn La Ahad. Ezio desires Altair s knowledge and wisdom to

The trailer opens to Ezio being held captive at the snowy castle of Masyaf by the Templar Knights.
Ezio is an experienced assassin who achieved the title of Master by reaching the peak of his training.
The trailer flashes back to his journey to Masyaf to demonstrate Ezio s resilience while displaying his
struggles, traveling through deserts and sailing through seas, to reach his destination. Ezio mentions in
his narration that his goal is to locate a hidden library, A center full of invaluable wisdom. Ezio is in
pursuit of the knowledge that his predecessor, Altair, left behind. This common Gothic element is
discussed by Professor Ewan Kirkland from the University of Brighton in his paper on Gothic
videogames: John Fletcher s discussion of female Gothic cinema opens with the claim: The search for
origins, especially when it takes the form of reconstructing a hidden or forbidden scene is one of the
most seductive of all narratives (112). This seductive narrative is parallel to Ezio s journey as he is
searching for a hidden library which contains knowledge and wisdom from his order s past. In this
fictional universe, The Assassins have been at war with the Templar Order for most of known human
history. The Templars contrast the ideals of freedom held by the Assassins. The Templars wish to
create a perfect world through the order and control of weaker individuals.

was then recrystallized in a solvent of water and methanol over heat resulting in 0.082 grams (39.61%
yield) of pure acetaminophen. Melting points of both crude and pure acetaminophen were taken, and
found to be 165.9 170.9°C and 168.2 171.5°C, respectively. The literature melting point of
acetaminophen is 169.5 171.0°C, indicating that our final product was pure.

An automatic pipet was used to measure 0.450 mL water and 0.165 mL acetic anhydride and was
added to the conical vial. A spin vane was placed into the vial and an air condenser was attached.
Heating:
The mixture was heated at 120°C using an aluminum block and was stirred gently. After all of the
solid dissolved, it was heated for 20 additional minutes to ensure the reaction was complete.
Isolation of Crude Acetaminophen: The vial was removed from the heat and cooled to room
temperature. The spin vane was rinsed with 2 3 drops of warm water over the conical vial. The vial
was cooled to room temperature then placed in an ice bath for 15 minutes. The liquid was decanted
from the mixture and the resulting crystals were dried on filter paper. The crystals were then placed on
a watch glass for further drying. The crystals were weighed and a small sample was placed into a
capillary tube for melting point determination.
Crystallization of Acetaminophen: The product was placed in a Craig tube and several drops of hot
(100°C) solvent (50% water, 50% methanol, by volume) was added and heated until all of the crystals
dissolved. The Craig tube was plugged and set in an Erlenmeyer flask to cool. Crystallization was
induced once the mixture was at room temperature by scratching the inner wall of the tube. It was then
placed into an ice bath for ten minutes until crystallization was complete. The tube was then

The New York Times By Nadine Unger
In The New York Times, Nadine Unger argues against the common belief of planting trees in her
article, To Save the Planet, Don t Plant Trees, which was submitted online on September 19, 2014. She
wrote this article due to the United Nations(UN) Climate Summit, which took place on September 23,
2014 in New York. The UN Climate Summit was a meeting to discuss climate change, where the UN
Secretary General Ban Ki moon invited leaders of governments, the private sector, and civil society to
unite towards a low carbon world. Unger mentions that they are likely to promote reducing
deforestation and planting trees as they address the rising rate of carbon emissions (par. 1). She argues
against the popular belief of how trees affect climate change and global warming. Her audience
consists of Americans, tax payers, and those affected by global warming and climate change, arguing
that planting trees while avoiding deforestation is a bad gamble on the earth s environment. Unger
effectively argues that there are unknown effects of planting trees and implores her audience to
intervene in the political situation through the use of statistics, scientific diction, and human emotion.
Global warming has become such a politically hot topic. Unger mentions that the UN has met to
discuss the issues and needed solutions pertaining to carbon emissions, believing that they will
continue the cycle with planting trees and avoiding deforestation. She informs her audience about how

The Effect Of Soil On The Soil Formation Of Soil
The soil is a complex mixture of minerals, water, air, organisms and organic matter that are decaying
remains of once living things. The soil is vital in supporting plant life and all forms life. The soil is not
consistent throughout the world because of the way that it is formed and environmental factors that
vary through the process of soil formation.
The factors that play the most important role in the formation of soil are climate, organisms, relief,
parent material and time. These factors form the acronym CLORPT that is used to describe the
processes. Climate includes factors such as temperature and moisture; they are important in
determining the speed of weathering and the decay rate of the organic material. Organisms include
animals that burrow through the soil that affects the permeability and amount of air in the soil. Other
organisms in the soil are bacteria that affect the rate of decay of organic matter. Relief is the direction
and slope of the surface. This factor determines the amount of sunlight and how much water is kept in
the soil. Parent Material influences the chemical characteristics of the soil. For example, a soil formed
from limestone will have higher calcium concentration than soils that are formed from a parent
material with lower calcium than limestone. Time affects soil by how much time it had to develop.
Older soil will be different than younger soil because it has had more time to breakdown parent
material and decay organic matter. CLORPT

Describe two major ways in which a company can grow.
Give examples to illustrate the two ways of growing.
The two ways in which a company can grow is Inorganic Growth and Organic Growth
Inorganic growth occurs when a business grows by joining together either by a merger or a takeover

An example of organic growth is an office supply store that has products and services that has
attracted the majority of businesses to order from them on a regular on going basis. Businesses grow
when they have the resources to expand and opportunities exist for growth. Explain how the
acquisition of Berendsen provided such a good opportunity for the Davis Service Group.
The acquisition of Brendsen provided a great opportunity for Davis Service Group to take over

Psychological Egoism
Psychological egoism is the view that everyone always acts selfishly. It describes human nature as
being wholly self centered and self motivated. Psychological egoism is different from ethical egoism
in their direction of fit to the world. Psychological ego ism is a factual theory. It aims to fit the world.
In the world is not how psychological ego ism says it is because someone acts unselfishly, then
something is wrong with psycho logical egoism. In my opinion this argument is completely wrong and
unsound. According to James Rachel, an author of Elements of Moral Philosophy, there two main
arguments exist against psychological egoism. The first argument can be formulated as such:
1) Everyone always does what they most want to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rachels p. 74) One can conclude from this that it is the object of the want that should be considered
when determining the selfishness of an act. The second argument for psychological egoism is
formulated like this:
1) Everyone always does what they most want to do.
2) If are does what one wants to do, ones gets satisfaction.
3) If one gets satisfaction from doing what they want to do, then satisfaction is one s only goal
4) If satisfaction is one s only goal, one acts selfishly.
5) Everyone always acts selfishly. The major criticism of this argument lays in premise three, its
factual premise as James Rachel calls it in his book. Opponents of this argument and Rachel being one
of them, imply that it is wrong to say that satisfaction is one s only goal because satisfaction doesn t
even have to be a goal. Satisfaction is the presumable state that results from ob taining a goal. Thus
premise three is wrong. One can say that you can make satisfaction your goal if you will feel bad if
you don t do something, but this is not always the case. Satisfaction can result from something else.
And it is also incorrect to say that one makes satisfaction his goal then chooses his desires to fulfill the
satisfaction. (J. Rachels p. 82) The second criticism is in premise four. Rachels proposes to change the
premise, making it less problematic by saying that satisfaction is ones primary goal instead of one s
only goal.

Hart Team America
Ms. Hart and a student on Team America were both assessing a mathematical expression which
consists of dividing decimals: 146.4 ÷ 0.32. Bewildered at the difficulty of the problem, they each
evaluated the expression. However, the student had analyzed a differentiated solution. Most students
would directly assume that Ms. Hart, as a teacher, would have the correct resolution. On the contrary,
the student claimed she was accurate. Who will stand corrected? In order to precisely evaluate an
expression involving the division of decimals, there are certain steps to ensure success:
If the divisor is not a whole number, move decimal point to the right to make it a whole number and
move decimal point in dividend the same number of places.
Divide as usual.
Put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hart and the student s work, the miscalculation is pointed out. The student has correctly analyzed the
first step. Conversely, the teacher mistakenly divided 146.4 by 100 instead of multiplication, placing
one of the main components of her expression to be 1.464 incorrect. This affects every step after,
although the operation and method used is correct. Nevertheless, the student may still be wrong as
well.
Continuing the process of evaluating the expression, the next step is to divide as usual. Following the
standard process of dividing whole numbers, the exact quotient received should be 457.5. With step 3
already done, the final action would be to check the answer. That can be done with the inverse
operation of division, multiplication. 457.5 × 0.32 = 146.4. This proves that 457.5 is the error free,
precise quotient.
Evidently supported by a carefully checked run through of the steps needed, the student has received
the honor of evaluating the expression accurately. Ms. Hart had erroneously used the wrong equation
on step 1. Everyone makes mistakes! This depicts how using the right strategy and checking after each
move can lead to conquering the expression and a genius, mathematical

Literary Point Of Forshadowing In Monkey s Paw
The author of The Monkey s Paw, W.W. Jacobs uses many literary techniques to create suspense. The
story is about an old man named Mr. White who gets a monkey s paw with magical powers, he wishes
for 200 pounds. He also loses his son during the process. To create suspense and convey the point of
the story Jacobs uses literary techniques such as, mood, imagery, and foreshadowing.
One of the first techniques he uses is foreshadowing. Before Sergeant Major Morris gives Mr. White
the paw, he describes the fakir who cursed the paw, he said, He wanted to show that fate ruled people s
lives and those who interfered with it so did their sorrow (paragraph 26). This evidence reveals that
the paw is cursed by a fakir who wants to teach people a lesson about interfering with fate when they
wish for things that aren t destined to happen. Because of this the reader can conclude that the wishes
will not have the desired outcome. In addition, when the whites inquire more about the paw, Morris
throws it into the fire and warns them of the consequences after Mr. White quickly retrieves it
(paragraph 31 and 44). The reader can infer from this that Morris doesn t want Mr. White to have the
paw. However, Mr. White reaches his hand in the fire and risks burning himself to retrieve the paw.
You can also tell from this that Morris had such a bad experience with the paw that he wants to
destroy it. After that, Mr. White asks Morris about the first person to have the paw, Morris s response

My Autobiography
As a kid, I was always extremely talkative. So talkative that teachers would get on to me. Teachers
would say so many different things to me, but I never let it bother me. The most common thing they
would say would be like, Kate, quit talking and go move to a different seat.
Usually, I would respond back with, Okay in an annoyed tone, because all I wanted to do was talk. I
would still find a way to talk to someone else, but after a while, I would hear my teacher say my name
again.
Kate this is your last chance to quit talking or else you re going to the office or I m going to be calling
your mom, they would say.
Okay, I would quietly respond back.
Throughout the years as I go little older I started caring about the little things people would say about
me. Like one of the little things that would bother me was when some of my friends or even some
classmate would point out how I have an accent, or how I would do things differently than them. I
became very subconscious about my speaking every single time I would talk because I felt like
everyone would be paying close attention to it. I didn t realize that as a kid that having an accent
would be that noticeable to others. Suddenly my life took a turn when I entered 5th grade. It started
out great. I had a few friends that I could communicate and hang out with, but as weeks gone by I
started to become like a closed door. I rarely said a word to any of my friends. The most I would have
talked was probably a sentence or two

The Influence Of The Minoan Civilization
The Minoan civilization formed on the island of Crete during the middle of the Bronze Age. During

years have been assessed for relevance for the study. Data Analysis To evaluate the studies, articles
were entered into a literature review matrix, identifying the specific aims of the study, demographic,
methods, major findings, limitations and article focus. Data were analysed using content analysis to
produce a descriptive summary of the content. Results were independently reviewed within each
article and data were analysed to identify the causes of behavioural changes. Results A total of nine
articles from the nine original studies using qualitative and quantitative research methods met the
criteria for inclusion in the study (9 articles with different research objectives with similar
participants). Four out of nine stated that the most common cause of changes in behaviour is job
satisfaction, followed by language and different values and beliefs. Four articles have been critically
analysed to conclude that job satisfaction is the most common cause of behavioural changes in the
workplace (Chang, Daly, Hancock, Bidewell, Johnson, Lambert, Lambert, 2006; Chang, Bidewell, W.,

The specimen is significant for the interpretive potential that it holds, however it is limited by the lack of documented provenance, given that some of the information obtained is anecdotal oral history and cannot be verified through documentation. Within the last twenty years, the controversial nature of human tissue specimens within museum collections has sometimes led to their disposal, and the erosion of technical conservation skills relating to this particular type of collection. The UCL Pathology Collection has in recent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This could also be achieved through a more ambitious events programme that could include publically bookable talks and activities. Concerns are often raised about the appropriateness of human specimens in a class environment. However, staff at the UCL Pathology Collection have found that children are not so much frightened or disturbed by the specimens in the collections, rather they are intrigued and wish to understand more about health issues and specimen collecting in the past. In this sense, pathology collections can be a key way of presenting health concerns through object study, away from a dependence on photography and diagrams in text books. Children in particular have been shown to respond well to learning through object handling. Specimens and objects relating to the history of medicine have been identified as having an almost unique ability to profoundly impact upon museum visitors (Arnold, 1999). The inherent relatability of human organs, and the pain inflicted through the use of medical instruments, can both ignite curiosity and instil fear and repulsion. • 8. Example Of A Femme Fatale A femme fatale, a French term for fatal woman (Schimkowitz, 2014), is a strong willed, manipulative woman who is as alluring as she is dangerous. She is an irresistibly attractive woman who leads a man into difficult and dangerous situations with her seductive charms (Blakely, 2014). They used to be physically characterized as fierce sexing looking women with sharp eyeliners. This female archetype has been in existence since ancient times all around the world. The first example of a femme fatale in this paper is Veda Pierce (Ann Blyth) in Mildred Pierce, which was released in 1945, when many American soldiers returned from World War II. During the WWII period, women were the main providers for their families while American men were at war, which led to increase independent American women. Mildred Pierce, the mother of Veda, is one of the strong women who is working hard to support herself and her children. In contrast to her mother s effort, Veda takes advantage of her mother s kindness and money. She also betrays her by having an affair with Monte Beragon, who is already married to her mother. Veda has the looks and knows how to use her looks to attract men. And she is so ambitious that she does anything in order to get the most important thing to her which is money to live the high class life. Ultimately, a femme fatale leads the male into ruin. Veda fulfills this characteristic of the femme fatale by shooting Monte to death when he denies that he is going to marry her. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many laws and regulations that must be adhered to in order for evidence to be admissible to ensure that a defendant s right are not violated. One of the most important rules that help protect against illegal evidence being admitted into evidence is the Exclusionary rule. This rule helps to ensure that evidence which is admissible into criminal prosecutions are not only relevant and reliable, but have not violated the fourth or fifth amendment due to misconduct. Specifically, the exclusionary rule forbids evidence obtained by violating a defendant s constitutional rights to be introduced by the prosecution for the purpose of proving direct guilt Gardner Anderson, 2013, pg. 218 219).Police misconduct often leads to evidence that can either be obtained legally through the use of illegal evidence, evidence that is illegally obtained through violations of other rules, regulations, a defendants rights, or evidence that is obtained illegally but falls under one of the exclusionary rule exceptions such as the plain view doctrine (Gardner Anderson, 2013, pg. 219 221). Manifesto Of The Communist Party The Communist Manifesto, originally drafted as, Manifesto of the Communist Party , is a pamphlet written by Karl Marx, that in essence reflects an attempt to explain the goals and objectives of Communism, while also explaining the concrete theories about the nature of society in relation to the political ideology. The Communist Manifesto breaks down the relationship of socio economic classes and specifically identifies the friction between those classes. Karl Marx essentially presents a well analyzed understanding of class struggles and the issues concerning capitalism, the means and modes of production and how those means affect the classes as a whole. Every society is structured or designed with the intention to form social classes; classes that will determine the social mobility of each individual living within it. Within the social hierarchy, there is inevitably one class that essentially oppresses the others. The Communist Manifesto features The Bourgeoisie and The Proletarians, and explains that the relationship between the two classes is a common frictional relationship that has occurred countless times throughout history. It explains that the modern Bourgeoisie will eventually fall, due to their inability to maintain a lifestyle for the proletarians; which is ultimately caused by the instability of capitalism. The goals of Communism are clearly set forward in the process. Marx informs us that Communism is established to achieve 3 major things: to solidly form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Student Athletes For The University Of Ohio Secondly, for student athletes who practice a sport and attend classes, it is often difficult to complete both tasks. Many students begin to show less motivation making it harder to stay focus and attend their required classes. This is the case of student athlete Cardale Jones, a quarterback for the University of Ohio. After taking his sociology final exam, he commented that coming to class was pointless when his only responsibility was to play football for the university (Tracy 1). Student athletes start to show poor academic achievement when they consume a lot of time in their sports and often forget about their role of being a student. For instance, when students are not able to complete their school assignments during the day they decide to study late and do not sleep the necessary hours they need in order for their bodies to function and their brains to focus. In this case, the poor achievement in students is notable because they do not perform well in school and do not have a good nutrition. They often do not have time to eat the required three meals a day that their bodies need. The poor academic achievement is often noticeable when many coaches begin to tell their athletes that they are not allowed to take classes that interfere with practice. This puts athletes in a barrier when they have to balance the two roles of responsibility of attending class and completing homework assignments and attending the games. After the war, the Korean Peninsula was divided into two states along the 38th parallel. The Soviet union controlled the communist north while the United States controlled the nationalist and anti communist south. Soviet general Terentii Shtykov established the Provisional People s Committee for North Korea in 1946 and Kim Il sung became chairman. Shtykov broke North Korea s stratified class system, nationalized critical industries, and as a result many fled to the south. Later that year, South Korean citizens resisted the rule of the Allied Military Government and continued to resist despite violent opposition until they declared their statehood in May 1948. Shortly after this, The Democratic People s Republic of Korea was established, and Kim Il sung became the premier leader. Shtykov suspected President Syngman Rhee of South Korea was planning an attack on North Korea, and so with the help of Jospeh Stalin, North Korea launched an attack on South Korea on June 25th, 1950. This started the Korean War, which was essentially a proxy war between America and the Soviets. The United Nations force (led by the United States) assisted South Korea in the war. China assisted North Korea, and would continue to follow this pattern of allying with North Korea until modern day. The war ended on July 27th, 1953. • 25. The Effect Of Soil On The Soil Formation Of Soil The soil is a complex mixture of minerals, water, air, organisms and organic matter that are decaying remains of once living things. The soil is vital in supporting plant life and all forms life. The soil is not consistent throughout the world because of the way that it is formed and environmental factors that vary through the process of soil formation. The factors that play the most important role in the formation of soil are climate, organisms, relief, parent material and time. These factors form the acronym CLORPT that is used to describe the processes. Climate includes factors such as temperature and moisture; they are important in determining the speed of weathering and the decay rate of the organic material. Organisms include animals that burrow through the soil that affects the permeability and amount of air in the soil. Other organisms in the soil are bacteria that affect the rate of decay of organic matter. Relief is the direction and slope of the surface. This factor determines the amount of sunlight and how much water is kept in the soil. Parent Material influences the chemical characteristics of the soil. For example, a soil formed from limestone will have higher calcium concentration than soils that are formed from a parent material with lower calcium than limestone. Time affects soil by how much time it had to develop. Older soil will be different than younger soil because it has had more time to breakdown parent material and decay organic matter. CLORPT ... The major criticism of this argument lays in premise three, its factual premise as James Rachel calls it in his book. Satisfaction is the presumable state that results from ob taining a goal. Thus premise three is wrong. One can say that you can make satisfaction your goal if you will feel bad if you don t do something, but this is not always the case. Satisfaction can result from something else. And it is also incorrect to say that one makes satisfaction his goal then chooses his desires to fulfill the satisfaction. (J. Rachels p. 82) The second criticism is in premise four. Rachels proposes to change the premise, making it less problematic by saying that satisfaction is ones primary goal instead of one s only goal. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Hart Team America Ms. Hart and a student on Team America were both assessing a mathematical expression which consists of dividing decimals: 146.4 ÷ 0.32. Bewildered at the difficulty of the problem, they each evaluated the expression. However, the student had analyzed a differentiated solution. Most students would directly assume that Ms. Hart, as a teacher, would have the correct resolution. On the contrary, the student claimed she was accurate. Who will stand corrected? In order to precisely evaluate an expression involving the division of decimals, there are certain steps to ensure success: If the divisor is not a whole number, move decimal point to the right to make it a whole number and move decimal point in dividend the same number of places. Divide as usual. Put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hart and the student s work, the miscalculation is pointed out. The student has correctly analyzed the first step. Conversely, the teacher mistakenly divided 146.4 by 100 instead of multiplication, placing one of the main components of her expression to be 1.464 incorrect. This affects every step after, although the operation and method used is correct. Nevertheless, the student may still be wrong as well. Continuing the process of evaluating the expression, the next step is to divide as usual. Following the standard process of dividing whole numbers, the exact quotient received should be 457.5. With step 3 already done, the final action would be to check the answer. That can be done with the inverse operation of division, multiplication. 457.5 × 0.32 = 146.4. This proves that 457.5 is the error free, precise quotient. Evidently supported by a carefully checked run through of the steps needed, the student has received the honor of evaluating the expression accurately. Ms. Hart had erroneously used the wrong equation on step 1. Everyone makes mistakes! This depicts how using the right strategy and checking after each move can lead to conquering the expression and a genius, mathematical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Literary Point Of Forshadowing In Monkey s Paw The author of The Monkey s Paw, W.W. Jacobs uses many literary techniques to create suspense. The story is about an old man named Mr. White who gets a monkey s paw with magical powers, he wishes for 200 pounds. He also loses his son during the process. To create suspense and convey the point of the story Jacobs uses literary techniques such as, mood, imagery, and foreshadowing. One of the first techniques he uses is foreshadowing. Before Sergeant Major Morris gives Mr. White the paw, he describes the fakir who cursed the paw, he said, He wanted to show that fate ruled people s lives and those who interfered with it so did their sorrow (paragraph 26). This evidence reveals that the paw is cursed by a fakir who wants to teach people a lesson about interfering with fate when they wish for things that aren t destined to happen. Because of this the reader can conclude that the wishes will not have the desired outcome. In addition, when the whites inquire more about the paw, Morris throws it into the fire and warns them of the consequences after Mr. White quickly retrieves it (paragraph 31 and 44). The reader can infer from this that Morris doesn t want Mr. White to have the paw. However, Mr. White reaches his hand in the fire and risks burning himself to retrieve the paw. You can also tell from this that Morris had such a bad experience with the paw that he wants to destroy it. After that, Mr. White asks Morris about the first person to have the paw, Morris s response was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. My Autobiography As a kid, I was always extremely talkative. So talkative that teachers would get on to me. Teachers would say so many different things to me, but I never let it bother me. The most common thing they would say would be like, Kate, quit talking and go move to a different seat. Usually, I would respond back with, Okay in an annoyed tone, because all I wanted to do was talk. I would still find a way to talk to someone else, but after a while, I would hear my teacher say my name again. Kate this is your last chance to quit talking or else you re going to the office or I m going to be calling your mom, they would say. Okay, I would quietly respond back. Throughout the years as I go little older I started caring about the little things people would say about me. Like one of the little things that would bother me was when some of my friends or even some classmate would point out how I have an accent, or how I would do things differently than them. I became very subconscious about my speaking every single time I would talk because I felt like everyone would be paying close attention to it. I didn t realize that as a kid that having an accent would be that noticeable to others. Suddenly my life took a turn when I entered 5th grade. It started out great. I had a few friends that I could communicate and hang out with, but as weeks gone by I started to become like a closed door. I rarely said a word to any of my friends. The most I would have talked was probably a sentence or two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
