2013 is the Year for Performance Support: Breaking Down Traditional BarriersOntuitive
We heard you loud and clear last year. You are hungry to work Performance Support into your strategy. You realize that training alone is limited and that the future of L&D is supporting employees in the workflow, at the moment of need.
You want to get started, but there are barriers (perceived or actual). Beginning with this webinar, and throughout 2013, our plan is to help you develop the appropriate strategies that break down the barriers and move your organization beyond training to performance! 2013 IS the year of performance support.
January’s webinar will be a bit more interactive than usual – we want to hear from you! What barriers are you facing? Take a moment, after registering for the webinar, to answer our poll question on this topic – results will be discussed next week during the webinar. Additional webinar discussion topics include:
•Facts, figures, and industry trends surrounding barriers;
•Open discussion, with live polls, on what you, as an organization, are experiencing; and,
•Share solution ideas and tactics on how to begin breaking down the barriers.
Join Bob Mosher and Conrad Gottfredson as they kick-off the year with this interactive and informative webinar!
Did you know that within the first 48 hours of your employees attending a traditional training or learning event, their knowledge retention drops to 33%? Did you also know that research now shows that nearly 80 percent of learning in the workplace takes place informally? So why are training departments still spending the vast majority of their budgets on formal training efforts? Do you struggle with getting the correct and most current information out to your employees so they can perform at the top of their game?
Join the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, Bob Mosher, and Dr. Conrad Gottfredson, Performance Support Experts from APPLY Synergies, for this special presentation on Performance Support: Enabling The Most Valuable Resources Within Your Organization. Attendees will learn:
• How Performance Support can improve your nonprofit's effectiveness.
• What effective Performance Support looks like
• How to integrate Performance Support into your existing learning approach

The growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is leading to transformation in our workplaces. Professor Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum is calling this change The Fourth Industrial Revolution. There are mixed predictions about AI and automation: some people see a reduction in the need for some jobs while predicting an increase in others. There is no doubt AI is changing the nature of work and learning.
In this presentation you’ll get an insider’s view into--
- Some of the jargon behind the technologies e.g. what data scientists mean when they talk about ‘training a model’
- How AI is being used in L&D today to gain insights and automate learning
- Why you should be looking to use chatbots in your learning programs
- How to get started with recommendation engines
- What the issues and challenges are using AI in learning.
- Even if you aren’t a technical person you will get an understanding of leading edge technologies by attending this webinar.

ASTD ICE 2011 Session W316: Description: By itself, training often is not enough to improve individual or organizational effectiveness. After all, training is only an appropriate intervention when the performance gap is due to a lack of skills and/or knowledge. Solutions that affect real change and fully address business needs typically involve multiple interventions. Learning and performance professionals require basic skills to gauge and stage business readiness to support training sustainability. The speaker will present a step-by-step approach that will allow you to start adding change management tools and techniques to your existing training toolkit.
Objectives:
-Identify common change-management tasks for learning initiatives
-Implement simple tools for creating deliverables
-Integrate change-management tasks with training tasks to create an overall transition strategy.

Description:
Without performance support, people are less effective in their professional and personal lives. Do you still calculate in your head or organize your life without an electronic agenda? Performance support is everywhere and always present. Combined with smart technology, it is the new trend in (mobile) learning. Performance support: a short cut for training with a positive business case. Usually training is only available before or after the execution of a task. However, when it is necessary to put those lessons into practice (the moment of need), training is not accessible. This is the exact moment where performance support can add value. The speakers will share how they succeeded in improving business results in several organizations, as well as lessons learned. You will get tips and tricks and a job aid with which you can immediately start to design your own performance support within a digital workscape. It is hard to imagine that the role of L&D will not shift from delivering formal training to supporting 70:20:10. A performance support storm is especially expected in supporting "70," resulting in new opportunities for L&D and a shift to its core business. Compared to traditional formal training, this approach will have a positive business case. The L&D dream comes true!Apply a job aid to design performance support in your own organization as important element in a (digital) workscape. Learn tips and tricks for immediate use to achieve business impact (ROI) with performance support.

Communication, training, support, and change management. Business Readiness is a new term and encompasses components that are familiar to learning and development. However, look it up on Google, Wikipedia, or other search engines and it\'s not there. At least not in the way we have been talking about it. Why? Is it because it is so new and the components such as change management, communications, training and end user support are typically run by project managers? Or are they? How do you, as a learning professional, affect these components? You\'ll explore how the direction and guidance you provide in these areas affect overall projects and success of new processes, ERP roll outs and training delivery in your organization.
SMBs & Social Media sponsored by Sum TotalJanet Clarey
How SMBs can use social media tools to support workplace learning. Several tools discussed. Focus was on the social vs. the media - keeping it about people and strategy because, if you don't have one in a corporate learning & development department, you're probably not going to get any support for implementation. Discussion of LMS trends in the corporate arena today (more people centric vs. course centric).

Developing a digital mindset - recordingSprout Labs
This webinar is based on our free eBook Developing a digital mindset: Powerful methods to disrupt learning. Digital technologies are disrupting business. But it’s not the technologies themselves that are causing the disruption, it’s what we do with them that’s creating change. It’s the thinking processes and mindsets around using technologies that hold the key. It’s about having a digital mindset.

WEBINAR: Research Principles Behind the Need for Performance SupportOntuitive
As we all know, training is a well-researched and vetted learning discipline. Well-known theorists have validated the need for, design of, and delivery of training for years now. One of the more misunderstood views of performance support is that it is too new to be justified by similar bodies of work. The good news is that this is simply not true. There are a host of research backed theories supporting the need for, and design of, performance support.
In this webinar we will examine the newest and most powerful research found across the Five Moments of Need so you can better sell and position performance support within the organizations you serve.
Join Bob Mosher and Conrad Gottfredson as they discuss Agile development in this month's webinar!
Software development is shifting to Agile development practices due to the speed of change within organizations, and therefore creating the demand for such shifts. These same compelling reasons are pushing learning groups to challenge their current methodologies and become more adaptive. This can’t be accomplished without a Performance Support strategy, methodology, and technology.
Our charge is not only to keep up with Agile software development, but to keep up with the adaptive performance requirements of organizations to be “Agile": to grow, change, and innovate at or above the speed of their markets – in other words, the need to: “learn at the speed of change.”
Making a success of performance support (webinar deck)Ontuitive

See first-hand examples of the different ways organizations are supporting performance, and the resulting impact.
This webinar will help you visualize implementing performance support in your organization, moving from a theoretical understanding to a solid grasp of how to make it work for you.
