Wisconsin Fast Plants Grow Experiment
In this experiment we are testing the effect of fertilizer on the speed of plant growth. We
prepared a 4 quad cell, 1 control group and 3 experimental groups. So, we had one with no
fertilizer, one with three seeds of fertilizer, one with six seeds of fertilizer, and lastly, one with
nine seeds of fertilizer. The plants that we grew were called Wisconsin Fast Plants, members of
the crucifer family. These plants are small and easy to grow, but for optimal growth they require
continuous fertilizer, water, fluorescent light, and temperature between 18 degrees Celsius and 26
degrees Celsius 24 hours a day. Fertilizers are substances that are put into soils to increase the
growth of the plant. There are two different types of fertilizers, synthetic... Show more content on

Beforehand, I believed that, if fertilizer speeds the growth of plants, then the 9 pellets of
fertilizer were going to make the biggest plant the fastest. I thought this because it would have
the most fertilizer and if fertilizer speeds up the growth of plants then 9 must speed it up the
most. However, I was not completely right with my initial prediction. My personal data came to
the conclusion that the 3 pellets made the plant grow the fastest but in the class data by the end
the average data showed that 9 pellets showed the most growth. This experiment was set up as
four different plant seeds in four different quadrants. Each of the four quadrants had a different
amount of fertilizer. We watered them and planted them in soil then every week we checked in on
our plants. We measured the size if the plants and then recorded it and put them back under the
fluorescent light. Then everyone recorded their data and we watched the class data on average,
then the last day we measured the mass of the plants and found the class data. So although my
prediction of 9 pellets of fertilizer creating the most growth was true in the class data, it was not
true in my individual

The Pharmacological Treatments For Opiates, Drugs, And Drugs
In this essay, the effectiveness of the pharmacological treatments for opiates, nicotine, cocaine, and
alcohol in relation to addiction relief and prevention will be critically evaluated. This will be
accomplished through an investigation of the respective substances and their current treatment s
methods and levels of success, such as the use of Substitution Therapy, agonist and antagonist
treatments, and preventative drugs. Furthermore, the generation of directions for future research
and treatments will be performed, particularly assessing the potentiality for remedying addiction
through substance tailored vaccinations and suggestions for solidifying a scientifically accepted
methodology for the treatment of cocaine dependency.
Concurrently, pharmacological treatment efficacy has been assessed heavily within academic texts.
The present essay will incorporate a multitude of these findings, in order to appraise the
effectiveness of current addiction prevention proposals in determining empirically and clinically
substantive degeneration of the largely aggressive symptoms, and the possible detrimental short
and long term effects, correlated with addiction to opiates, nicotine, cocaine, and alcohol. Opiate
dependency is a result of addiction to specific prescription drugs such as oxycodone, morphine,
hydrocodone, etc., as well as the illegal drug, heroin. According to the 2012 United Nations Office

1. How should Motorola appropriately react to the emerging local brands, head to head competing
or cooperating in some fields? Will licensing manufacturing technology to Chinese manufacturers
weaken Motorola s core competency? China is the world s largest mobile phone market. Due to the
large size of the Chinese cell phone market and its potential for long term continual growth,
competition for access to Chinas consumer markets is intense. For the first ten years after entering
China, Motorola had no competition but now competitive threats from other multinational
companies like Nokia, Siemens, Samsung, and local producers like TCL are a cause for concern
within Motorola.

These relationships will help manufacture mobile phones at the lowest cost, reduce the risks from
currency fluctuation, and improve the ability to cater to the Chinese government requirements.
Motorola should look into the expansion of its manufacturing plant in Tianjin which is one of the
major global production bases in the world for personal communication products including the cell
phones. This may help Motorola improve the relationships with the Chinese Government. Motorola
should continue to expand the relationships and contracts with China Mobile, Cisco, and Nortel
networks which have been a great positive impact on the success of Motorola in China. These
ventures will allow Motorola to focus on its expertise in developing and distributing cell phone
technology and products while the network infrastructure will be handled by a company who excels
in that area. Also having joint ventures with Chinese telecommunication infrastructure companies
like China Telecom and Unicom will put Motorola in the front seat compared to its competitors like
Nokia, Samsung and Siemens. Motorola management has been struggling to improve different
divisions due to overcrowded products and divisions. Splitting Motorola into two divisions
Semiconductor division and Mobile communications division, will allow Motorola to improve the
leadership in these two areas by having more concentration in each division by having

Investigating Concepts Of A Digital Device Essay
The purpose of this assessment is to investigate concepts relating to a system that is used within a
digital device. For my assessment, I chose the A5158 model MP3 player that belongs to my dad.
The features of this device include:
High Contrast LCD Display, Resolution 96 x 32
Integrated Flash Memory
Plays MP3 and WMA Digital Music Files FM Radio
4GB Stores up to 1000 songs
USB 2.0 Hi Speed for fast file transfers
Key lock preventing accidental key presses
Integrated 100mAh Lithium rechargeable battery for up to 5 hours playback
Data Representation
In computer terms, a bit is a numeric value either a zero or a one that holds a single unit of digital
information. Bits are usually strung together in a sequence eight bits normally equals one byte. Bits
are used to write binary numbers, which can be used to store decimal numbers such as 244 or 93 as
patterns of ones and zeroes.
ASCII or American Standard Code for Information Interchange is a computer code that was
developed to allow computers to convert human text into bits that computers could understand. In
ASCII code, for example, the letter A is 65 a number that can then be converted into the binary
value 1000001.
In the 1960 s, the 7 bit ASCII table was first adopted. Within a 7 bit number, 128 different
characters can be stored English letters from A Z (upper and lower case), numeric digits from 0 9
and special characters such as !/*+. The eighth bit was used to detect transmission errors.

EVOLUTION OF THE PHILIPPINE FLAG
The Katipunan (1892 1897) | The First KKK (Kataastaasan at Kagalanggalang Katipunan ng
Mga Anak ng Bayan The Highest and Most Honorable Society of the Sons of the Nation) Flag
(1892) With the establishment of the Katipunan, Andres Bonifacio requested his wife, Gregoria
de Jesus, and with the help of Benita Rodriguez to create a flag for the society. De Jesus created
a simple red flag bearing the society s acronym, KKK, in white and arranged horizontally at the
center of a rectangular piece of red cloth (locally called kundiman ). The color red represents the
blood and courage of the Katipuneros who stood ready to fight for freedom and shed their blood if
need be. This was the flag which was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Let us fight to the finish, was one of his favorite remarks. Owing more to Freemasonry than to

that Andres Bonifacio made fun of this flag, calling it Bungo ni Llanera or Llanera s skull.|
| The Aguinaldo Magdalo Flag (August 30, 1896). When the revolution heated up, the Magdiwang
group of the Katipunan, which operated in Cavite under Gen. Santiago Alvarez, adopted a flag
consisting of a red flag with the character at the centre of the flag is a K in an ancient Filipino
alphabet or alibata script in white placed at the center of a sun with eight pointed rays, again
representing the Katipunan and the eight revolutionary provinces in Luzon that pledged its support
to fight under Aguinaldo s banner and to start the Philippine revolution. This was the flag adopted
by General Emilio Aguinaldo for his Magdalo group at Kawit, Cavite on August 30, 1896.
General Aguinaldo referred to this flag in his proclamation of October 31, 1896: Filipino
people!! The hour has arrived to shed blood for the conquest of our liberty. Assemble and follow
the flag of the Revolution it stands for Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. Due to the popularity of
General Aguinaldo, it was used by the revolutionary forces until December 30, 1897 when it was
hauled down from the flagstaff at Biak na Bato, signifying the end of warfare with Spain after the
peace agreement. This

Common and Civil Law Legal Systems
Common and Civil law legal systems
According to Zimmermann there are as many legal systems as there are national states . Every
country has its own unique legal system. However, we can allocate among them three main legal
systems. These are: Civil Law, Common Law and Islamic Law. Civil and Common Laws are the
most influential legal systems in the world, especially in its Western part. All three of these legal
systems have existed and developed for many centuries. Further will follow the description of the
historically appearance of each legal system separately.
Civil legal system is considered to be the oldest and the most widespread one. It also known as
Continental, Roman or Romano Germanic law. In general, Roman law consists of a ... Show more

Equity deals with situations by applying notions of good sense and fairness .[4] (Elliott, C Quinn,
F, 1996).The law is dominantly created by judge and often without checking the legislation, only
by drawing analogy the previous similar cases. This moment shows the difference of the legislators
in civil law and in common law. In the civil law, judges should apply the law, which was created
by the legislator, on the basis of separation of powers. On the other hand, in common law the judge
is given the power to create the law.
Another difference between civil and common law system is the force of precedents. In civil
law system, the court decides the particular cases according to the legislation and legal norms.
But in the common law the courts are supposed not only to solve the cases, but also give an
example of how similar cases have to be solved in the future. This means, that decisions, which are
made by higher level courts in a specific areas are binding the lower ones to follow them. This
makes the court in the common law the basis of legislation.
Court procedures are also differentiating in both civil and common legal systems. We all know that
at the court two parties cooperate by presenting their evidence to each other. Civil legal system has
an inquisitorial procedure. In inquisitorial procedure the judge is the active person, who also takes
more investigative role. Common law countries use the accusatorial system, which is also known as

Ursula Le Guin s Nine Lives as a Feminist Statement
In the beginning of the 20th century, feminists movements started to arise, with the conviction of
vindicate women in the social arrengement of that time, in order to get the same opportunities as
men. Literature could not escape from this reality; as a result, women began to write about their
situation. Ursula Le GuinВґs Nine Lives , published in the 1960Вґs, was one of the first attempts in
science fiction literature to adress the condition of women in the social arrengement. Nine Lives is
set in Libra, a rocky planet which is far away from Earth,in the outer space, and in a distant future.

references to the thoughts, emotions or feelings of the female characters, totally opposed to the male
charactersВґs minds; the narrator has full access to their minds, indicating their thoughts,
emotions, and feelings. E.g.: Pugh was pleased. He had hoped Martin would want to go on
working with him, but neither of them was used to talking much about their feelings, and he
hesitated to ask. By having portrayed the female charactes in a superficial way, with no access to
their minds from the narrator, and the distant behaviour towards them from the male characters, Le
Guin makes a clear allusion to the subordination of women in the society. According to O. Neira

modo que contrasten con la superioridad del varГіn. (1). Mrs. Ursula criticizes this male chauvinist
society arrengement. Nonetheless, as with the previous point, Le Guin does not state her point
directly, but, instead, she recreates in the text the characteristics in which women lived in 1960Вґs

the canopy height was done on 25 July 2016. Coefficient of variation (CV) was found higher for
canopy height estimated from image when compared to canopy height from ground truth data.
We believe that the higher variation in the table (between manual and image data) is because of
the difference in the dates of manual measurement and capturing of images. Eq. 2 ∑ i∈Nm (y

The Elephant In Kazuo Ishiguro s Never Let Me Go
The elephant is seen as as the most compassionate creatures on earth. They care for those around
them, even if they are not of the same species. Their fellow creatures, humans, aren t as caring.
They pick fights, slaughter each other in wars, and even abandon one another for their own
survival. In this excerpt from Kazuo Ishiguros Never Let Me Go, the author portrays the narrator as
concerned while Ruth and the other girls are contrasted as rude and apathetic to reveal how
compassion is lacking in the younger generations.
The author portrays the narrator as uneasy over Tommy s treatment from the other kids to show
how compassion is rare in young people. The narrator and the other girls were crowded around a
window waiting for the boys to pull a trick on Tommy. The narrator was unsettled and searched
for signs of disapproval about what the boys were going to do to Tommy (Ishiguro), but she was
only met with a little laugh (Ishiguro). The narrator knew something was going to happen to
Tommy. She was looking around for someone else to be just as anxious, and no one was. They
even laughed a little at the notation of caring about what is about to happen. The narrator was
also worried for Tommy because he was wearing his favorite polo and was playing football in that
(Ishiguro). Tommy s shirt would get ruined (Ishiguro) by the muddy field. Tommy was playing
football, a very hands on game. His favorite shirt was sure to be ruined by the roughness of the

The Slavery of the Millennium
It is common ideology that slavery is a thing of the past. This is far from true; sex trafficking is

2005; }} The problem of sex trafficking must be amended at the ground roots to see improvement.
Changes must be implemented to the standing sex trafficking legislation, starting with the Victims
of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act implemented in 2000 to prevent trafficking, protect
victims, and prosecute traffickers. Though this policy was a major milestone in human rights
legislation, its execution over time has been a travesty.{{30 Potocky,M. 2010; }} It is argued that
laws are hard to implement, when cultures readily accept prostitution and therefore adversely
support sex trafficking. This is can be seen in Thailand. The religion of the Thai justifies the
selling of young women. Buddhists believe that women are inferior to men and cannot attain
enlightenment (43). They also believe that people are meant to go through pain and suffering in
life to make up for the sins they have committed in past lives. It is also a belief of the Thai people
that children owe a great deal to their parents (44). Just being born is considered a great gift that
takes a lifetime of repayment. Because of these beliefs young girls are sold into sex slavery.
Immediately, a new young prostitute has a great amount of debt, and in addition she is required
to pay for rent, food and drink, medicinal fees and fines for not working hard enough or
displeasing a costumer (58). This debt bondage keeps the girls under complete control as long as

The Representation Of The Speaking Model
The speaking model also addresses the norms of an event, the norms address the shoulds and the
should nots that can occur at a wedding. Although every bride and groom follows not each of
these practices, there are many norms to a wedding held in America. Many norms followed start
even months or years before the ceremony takes place. It all starts with choosing a date. This forms
the base for your entire wedding; it defines what colors to use, what materials to wear, if guests
can attend, and many other factors. Invitations are they sent out to all guests. Prior to the
invitations, guests are chosen wisely to stay within budget. Some brides and grooms will allow
their dates to bring a plus one or their own date, depending on the couple. Normally, there will be
a pre written and stamped envelope with the return address for RSVPs (respond s il vous plait).
A card in the envelope will allow you to choose whether you are attending or declining the
invitation, bringing a guest, and what entree you would like on the day of the wedding. The
couple now gets to decide on the little details of their wedding: where it will be located, the
decorations and color scheme, what food will be served, and who will be on their bridal party.
From there on, full wedding planning will be in effect. Wedding attire is very important to most
colors. Men generally wear suits or tuxedos, and the women usually wear dresses that go with the
color scheme. The bride now can pick out what she wants to

Improvalizing The Song Anything Goes By Ella Fitzgerald
Anything Goes Topic 2
In the song Anything Goes performed by vocalist Ella Fitzgerald, the band plays without vocals
around one minute and fifty four seconds. The band is improvising because it is a new melody
playing over the original chord progression. The aspects of the music that helped me determine
this was because when it switched to the band solo, I could hear the original tune of the song and
could sing along as if the vocalist was still singing, even though there was a new melody.
Improvising in jazz has a slightly different meaning than how most people use it today. Before
taking this course, I would ve thought that improvising was to perform something spontaneously.
Whereas in jazz, although it still is somewhat spontaneous,

Medical Benefits Of Cloning In The United States

This gave many people suspicion that cloned animals aged prematurely. However, a daily anti
inflammatory treatment resolved the clinical signs within a few months. While Dolly was
continuing to get better, in January of 2001, Cedric, one of the cloned sheep, died. Cedric died
of Sheep Pulmonary Adenomatosis, which is caused by a virus that induces tumors to grow in
the lungs of affected animals. The virus is infectious and spread to other sheep by close contact.
Scientist immediately removed Dolly from the pen even though there was a good chance she was
already infected. Dolly did die of SPA after many, many months of the other sheep deaths. While
this may seem like a negative, it is actually a common disease of regular conceived sheep. This long
and effective research experiment showed many people in the science world that cloning animals
has a very bright future.(The Roslin Institute)
Dolly was a breakthrough in science. She showed us it is possible to clone from an adult cell.
Don t be fooled, it no where near perfect, but nothing is truly perfect. Dolly gave us a base to learn
and continue to improve on. Think about it, when scientist first discovered anesthesia, atomic
energy, and recombinant DNA, they started with one successful experiment and continued to

entire world s way of living, just as cloning has the potential to do.( Di Berardino Marie

John Jin by Rose Tremain is a short story with two main characters. We have John Jin himself,
who was Chinese and born with a disease that held back his growth. He would only grow in
minute little bursts. When John Jin became older his adopted parents took him to Manchester to
see a specialist who then started him on treatments of growth hormone shots. Things started to

Her father would wish at a wishing well there for John Jin. Two years later the pavilion was rebuilt
with help from girders purchased by the locals with a name engraved on them. Suzan s parents

In my own view, the pavilion stood for mortality. Meaning that nothing lasts forever and everything
has its end. When the pavilion was there at the beginning of the story, Susan showed great
excitement for going there and described it as a fun place to be. Toward the end of the story she
didn t describe the pavilion as a great place to be anymore. Instead, she walked to the end of the pier
and looked down wondering if someone was to remove John Jin s girder, would everything fall? I

saying that is, I wonder what would have happened if John Jin never existed anymore. She s getting

Susan said toward the end of the story that she knows something important now and not to wish
for anything unless you know precisely what you re going to get and how. I think what she learnt
was that if you wish for something and it comes true, it may seem great at the time but nothing
lasts forever and to be careful because it can hurt worse after it leaves.

The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism
Essay No.1 Weber has been considered as an expert on origination of capitalism. His most
famous work is The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism. Weber thesis regarding
capitalism is rather considered as an argument counter to Marxist thesis (which was regarding
primacy of base over superstructure). Weber discussed in his book that capitalism was resulted
by Protestantism which was a religious movement or more specifically speaking Calvinism.
However any Calvinist who has gone through catechism would have known that seeking a sign
of selection by God in economic success, is not a right thing to do; therefore it is a travesty to
Weber s thesis (Kilcullen, 1996). One expects Weber to Capitalism is a result of Protestantism or
to be more specific, Calvinism. Calvinism believes God has granted few with salvation whereas
others have to go through damnation. This virtue isn t dependent on their good or bad actions
/ deeds but because God wanted it in a certain way. This belief made believers of Calvinism
worried about their salvation and made them invest more efforts into economic success. This, in
turn, made them believe that they were the chosen favourites of God. Furthermore, the profits made
by Calvanists were re invested into the business for further profits rather than self indulgence.
Hence, the concept of Protestant ethic came into place which generally refers to desire of having
enormous economic success and will of working hard. This concept of work ethic

Breast Cancer That Develops From Breast Tissue Essay
Breast cancer that develops from breast tissue. Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the
breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, or a red scaly
patch of skin. In those with distant spread of the disease, there may be bone pain, swollen lymph
nodes, shortness of breath, or yellow skin.
Risk factors for developing breast cancer include: female sex, obesity, lack of physical exercise,
drinking alcohol, hormone replacement therapy during menopause, ionizing radiation, early age at
first menstruation, having children late or not at all, older age, and family history. About 10% of
cases are due to genes inherited from a person s parents. Breast cancer most commonly develops in
cells from the lining of milk ducts and the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Cancers
developing from the ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those developing from lobules are
known as lobular carcinomas.
In addition, there are more than 18 other sub types of breast cancer. Some cancers develop from
pre invasive lesions such as ductal carcinoma in situ. The diagnosis of breast cancer is confirmed
by taking a biopsy of the concerning lump. Once the diagnosis is made, further tests are done to
determine if the cancer has spread beyond the breast and which treatments it may respond to.

6902 families have been evicted from San Francisco in 22 years. This isn t counting the
hundreds of other cities across California, and the number of families is only rising, and the Ellis
Act is to blame. Established in 1985, is a California law that allows landlords to evict tenants
when they are close to becoming bankrupt, or are currently bankrupt. However, the landlords who
utilize the law are often in neither situation. Due to the growing controversy, Senator Mark Leno
has proposed an amendment to the original act in order to combat the blatant greed that amassed

The Leno Amendment can help solve some of the issues that surround the act, by imposing new
restrictions and regulations that will hopefully reduce the number of casualties . In imposing fines
for violations of the act and limiting the number of times the act can be enforced, California is
headed in the right direction. However, it has some missteps, such as the lack of time extension for
evicted tenants to find new homes. Despite this, the Leno Amendment is the right choice for
California. As the Leno Amendment attempts to aid the financial situation of the tenants by giving
them more time to relocate, as well as being paid relocation fees, the state of California is
attempting to even out the wealth gap. The landlords gained the most money and made up smaller,
but wealthier end of the spectrum, whereas the tenants gained the least, and made up the poor
majority while the Ellis Act is in place. However, with the aid of the Leno Amendment, California
is not only addressing the issue of greed and high tenant evictions, it is also taking a progressive
step forward in the fight against the wealth

Why Is a Solution to the Israel-Palestine Conflict so Hard...
Israeli Palestinian conflict could be described as a clash that between Israelis and Palestinian
Arabs as they attempted to compete the same piece of land briefly (Dowty 2008:1, 4). The reasons
that prevent a solution to the Israeli Palestinian problem will be discussed and will be divided into
three parts, Israeli reasons, Palestinian reasons and the common problem between two countries.
In terms of Palestinian reasons, there are three reasons, the United Nation General Assembly
(UNGA) Resolution 181, consequence that Israel was established in 1948 and settlement policy is
enforced in Palestinian territory by Israel.
For the UNGA Resolution 181, Israeli occupied more territory than Palestinians. In 1947, two state
solution was passed in UNGA, Palestine was divided into two states, one for Jewish and one for
Arab (El Hasan 2010: 55). However, Arabs occupied 43 45.5% of land in Palestine even the
population of Arabs in Palestine was 2/3 (Soderblom 2003). This was unfair to them. Besides,
Jews claim that they have sovereignty on Palestine as their ancestor have moved to Palestine and
they maintain there is a tie between Jews and Palestine for more than 3,700 years, so it is their
historic homeland (Gans 2008: 101; Brown 2011: 139). In contrast, Palestinians argue that there
were only 1/4 of Jews lived in Palestine before 70 AD, this does not mean that Jews lived there can
compete the land (Lorimer and Malloy 2002: 7). Besides, Palestinian thought the UNGA Resolution

Discourse On Livy
NiccolГІ Machiavelli is very well known as an important and influential Italian historian,
politician, philosopher, and writer during the Renaissance. His book, Discourses on Livy, is a
discussion regarding the classical history of early Ancient Rome, although it uses contemporary
political examples and strays far away from the subject of Rome at times. It is presented as a series
of lessons on how a republicshould be started and structured. Most importantly, it constantly brings
up the idea of corruptionand corrupt people, which is not surprising because we all desire things
and search for the simplest way to obtain it, even though the easiest way to obtain something might
be a corrupt way. When Machiavelli uses the term corrupt or... Show more content on

It seems more difficult to change the regime. This is the source of corruption. When one class of
society strives to better themselves and succeed in doing so, it causes corruption. Machiavelli
spends a chunk of Discourses on Livy discussing how states are corrupt and the citizens within
them are corrupt as well. The first important point he makes when it comes to corruption is that
men do not know how to be entirely good or bad. He claims, they concluded that men clearly do
not know how to be honourably bad or perfectly good, and that when an evil deed contains in
itself some grandeur or some generosity, they do not know how to carry it out (Machiavelli 82).
Thus, Machiavelli is elaborating on the theme of good and bad and how even those who are
good and are not considered corrupt still make bad decisions sometimes. Generally, men decide
on a middle course, instead of choosing a completely good or bad course. This decision is seen
as most hazardous because it is hard to claim someone is good if they do not make entirely good
decisions and it is hard to claim someone is bad if they do not make entirely bad decisions. The
second important point Machiavelli makes is that men are easily corrupted and even those who are
good can easily turn bad. He states, It should also be noted, in this matter or the decemvirate, how
easily men may be corrupted and how they may transform themselves and give

Deductive Critical Thinking
INTRODUCTION
In our day to day studies, almost everything is transformed into our understanding by the creation of
arguments in our brains. An argument is basically described as a process of making what we think
clear to ourselves and others .the final goal of an argument is usually to reach a conclusion which is
sufficiently persuasive to convince someone of something. Any argument that relies on collection
of data, on measurement, on information collected somehow (rather than on a general principle) is
known as an inductive argument. On the other hand an argument which begins with a generally
true phrase to a particular phrase is known as a deductive argument.

Inductive arguments, therefore, can take vary wide ranging forms, including arguments dealing
with statistical data, generalizations from past experience appeals to signs, evidence or authority
and casual relationship. The following is an example of an inductive argument:
It has snowed in Massachusetts every December in recorded history. Therefore, it will snow in
Massachusetts this coming December.
How do inductive and deductive arguments help us in critical thinking? This is a question that
needs much insight so as to fully understand the role of inductive and deductive arguments in
critical thinking.
Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. It includes the ability to engage in
reflective independent thinking. So deductive and inductive arguments will help in the following
ways in critical thinking:
1.Making accurate and logic decisions.
In arguments, facts are reviewed, wrote and reviewed again. By this, it usually helps one to make
decisions accurately .arguments really helps someone to understand every single piece of
information because when you fail to understand a part of given information then it is likely to

The Jesus Movement Occurred Within The Intertestamental Era
The Jesus Movement occurred within the intertestamental era. The movement had one foot in the
past on the other in the future as this period emerged. Before Christianity stepped out on its own,
it was considered to be a sect of Judaism. Hellenism acted as a veneer over the everyday life of
Jews, but beneath that veneer, the Jewish worldview dominated the Gospel, not pagan Hellenism
(Eddy, 2014). The claim that the Trinity is a Hellenistic pagan corruption of the early church was
denied by recent research. Early Christianitywas rooted in Jewish theological thought and like
Judaism, the new faith guarded its identity (Eddy, 2014).
One of the best kept secrets in the Christian church is the large role that women played in the early
church. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christian and secular writers credited women with the growth of the church (Krueger and Kroger,
2012).
There is nothing inherent in the character of Christian ministry as it is presented in the writings of
the New Testament which would give reason for the exclusion of women. On the contrary, the New
Testament portrays Jesus treating women as equal human beings. It also portrays women and men
serving side by side in the various ministries of the early church . . . According to the evidence, the
exclusion of women from ecclesiastical ministry is neither in accord with the teaching or practice
of Jesus with that of the first century church (Bacchiocchi, 1987).
Contrary to Rabbi ben Azariah s remark that Rather should the words of the Torah be burned
than entrusted to a woman . . . Whoever teaches his daughter the Torah is like one who teaches
her obscenities, the Holy Spirit was poured out on all the disciples, men and women alike, on the
Day of Pentecost (Bacchiocchi, 1987). Peter quoted Joel to solidify that Your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy. . . and on my menservants and my maidservants in those days I will pour
out my Spirit (Acts 2:17 18). Maidservants meant that women had received the gift of the Holy
Spirit (Bacchiocchi, 1987).
Jesus was revolutionary in that he treated women and men as equals and violated many Old
Testament regulations and traditions that indicated gender inequality. Robinson (2012) stated many
examples of how Jesus treated women

The Third And Final Constant Factor Essay
The third and final constant factor originates directly as a result of the anarchic international
environment. As stated, a state acts largely in its own best interest. However, given more than one
state exists, multiple interests oftentimes intersect. Competition, the final constant, results from this
intersection. Rarely, this competition spins out of control into armed conflict. Prior to engaging in
war, a state must carefully weigh any potential benefits against likely costs. Mearsheimer defines
this as calculated aggression. Most likely, state level competition remains at a level lower than war.
Over time, state power balances develop and eventually solidify. Most importantly, state
competition, a state s prevailing interest to secure an improved chance for its continued survival,
remains firmly in place. Seen in this light, both Waltz and Gilpin s arguments for modifying or
upending this balance make better sense. Waltz argues that the international structure limits state
behavior. A state can pursue its interest only so far as to not upset the international balance. Gilpin
steps past Waltz concluding a state can choose to remake the balance if it decides its benefits
outweigh expected costs. One could view Gilpin as a balanced (no pun intended) medium between
Mearsheimer s aggression and Waltz s caution. Despite their respective differences, in prescribing to
a realist philosophy, Mearsheimer, Walz, and Gilpin would each conclude persistent state

A Summary Of A Mentor In Tangerine
Everyone has had someone help guide them throughout their life, even after they leave or pass.
This person can affect someone s life in a positive way. This person is known as a Mentor. As we
read the novel Tangerine, we learn that Paul has a Mentor that helps him throughout his journey. It
is clear to see that the role of the Mentor goes to Luis Cruzbecause he is a positive figure towards
Paul, he gives Paul advice, and acts as his conscience. One way that Luis Cruz is the Mentor is
how he acts as a positive figure towards Paul. For instance, he wants to make sure that Paul is
alright. When Paul goes to help fight the freeze at Tomas Cruz Groves, he got very weak and
couldn t go on. Luis sent him inside the quonset hut to lay down and sent Theresa in to get him
settled. A few moments later, Luis came in to make sure Paul was okay. Luis said, Paul are you
alright (Bloor 229)? This quote helps support the role of the Mentor because it shows how much
he cares about people, even if they had just met. The quote also portrays the positivity of Luis s
character. Therefore, one way that he is positive is how much he cares about people and wants to
make sure they are ok. Additionally positive, Luis speaks the truth. For example, after Erik hit Tino
in the head, Luis went to confront Erik. While he was there, Arthur Bauer hit him on the side of his
head under Erik s command. Luis went home and told his family. Paul thought to himself, after Luis

The government has dithered over this clear and present danger for decades, irresponsibly
kicking the can down the road into the indefinite future (Stop). Most nuclear power plants will
store their nuclear waste in pools and let is set and cool for several years. Space in these pools
are starting to become scarce so another solution is to store some of this waste into concrete and
steel cylinders. The big problem is that nuclear power plants are closing but what remains is their
waste that they leave behind for others to worry about. Some companies let their waste sit for
long periods of time until the waste is thought to be no longer hazardous. The government is now
acting on this matter by having nuclear power plants remove or eliminate the nuclear waste that is
left behind in the reactor sites. This will also reduce liability on taxpayers (Chapman). This
liability could reach up to $500 million per year after 2020 if the spent fuel remains where it is
(Chapman). Some nuclear power plants convert a wide variety of radioactive waste materials into
forms that are suitable for their subsequent management, including transportation, storage and final
disposal (Treatment). Some companies have found other solutions to disposing of their waste like
minimising the volume of the waste or reduce the potential hazard of the waste by conditioning it
into a stable solid form

Importance Of Depository Receipt Is A Negotiable...
INTRODUCTION
The past few decades have witnessed the increased internationalization of various firms through
cross listings on international exchanges. This has been facilitated by market liberalisation, which
has led to greater integration of global securities markets. Cross border listing has become one of
the avenues for the integration of global securities markets.
There are two forms of cross border listing, namely, direct listing and indirect listing. Direct listing
implies that the firm concerned offers ordinary shares to the public. Indirect listing on exchanges
is through Depository Receipts (DRs). Depository receipt is a negotiable certificate issued by a
bank in a domestic country that represent ownership of shares in companies of other countries.
Cross listing, particularly through DRs such as American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) or Global
Depositary Receipts (GDRs), is a popular way of internationalisation among firms from emerging
economies. In addition to Europe and America, International firms are allowed to cross list in other
countries through the DR programme.
There could be several reasons for a domestic company to cross list, such as an expanding investor
base, the desire to improve stock liquidity through its highly liquid secondary market, the
increasing visibility of the company, a growing customer base, and the wish to take advantage of
higher valuations. From the perspective of investors, cross listing mitigates some

An Analysis Of Porter s Five Forces In The Porter
The five forces used to analyze the level of competition formulated by Porter are the threat of
new entrants, the bargaining power of suppliers, the bargaining power of buyers, the threat of
substitute products or services and rivalry among existing competitors (M. E. Porter, 2008). Two
additional forces, proposed by Boehlje Olson (2010), provide an external dynamic to Porter s
original five forces, namely technology and other drivers of change. In order to use the Porter five
forces as an adequate backbone for describing the competition in our desired sector, we need
thorough knowledge of the factors comprising these forces. We begin by providing an overview of

Buyers will try to lower the price and increase the quality of products through bargaining and
negotiating. According to Porter (2008) negotiating leverage will increase if there are relatively
few buyers or purchases have a large volume compared to single supplier output, if suppliers have
undifferentiated products, the switching costs are low and if backwards integration is feasible.
The agribusiness chain has unique features such as perishability, seasonality, rapidly changing
supply and demand, use of contracts and sometimes limited price information, which will shape
the supplier buyer interactions (Cook, 2011; Olson Boehlje, 2010). Similar to the bargaining
power of suppliers, producers are placed in the middle of the chain. Therefore they will act as
buyers to the input sector while being sellers to the retail sector. This results in a unique and often
vulnerable position in the value chain. This relationship will also be thoroughly discussed in

Bipolar or Manic Depressive Disorder is a complex and challenging disorder. Bipolar is an area
of psychological illness that continues to provide perplex questions for psychologist. Bipolar is
becoming a more commonly diagnosed illness, in part due to readily available resources and

Princess Leia in the original Star Wars films. The list also includes, artist Vincent Van Gogh, the
late English novelist Virginia Woolf as well as Catherine Zeta Jones. Many of these individuals
cope with similar stressors to Nick Traina whose illness is described in depth through his Mother
s eyes as written in His Bright Light. The case study of Nick Traina and his battle with bipolar

The Meaning Of Discipline In School
Discipline means follow rules to be worked hard by someone in the interest of teaching something
to the student. Discipline is taught in many places in many ways. I was taught discipline at a school
that studied the art of taekwondo. This school helped me with my shyness and confidence problem.
Without Euns Martial ArtsCenter I would not be the person I am today. My first year of taekwondo
taught me the meaning of discipline. Joining this school was one the best decisions I ever made.
I can never forget the day I decided this was the thing I wanted to do. It was a sunny day and my
dad and I were wondering around Knoxville when we came upon EMAC. My dad had decided
that I needed something to help me with my lack of confidence so we walked through that door.
I was amazed as we sat there and watched the class. There were colorful belts and at the end they
fought each other with pads on their legs and arms. After they bowed and shook hands with the
teacher and his assistants. He walked over to where we were sitting.
Welcome! he said with a Korean accent. My dad introduced himself and I did the same. Then
we followed him to a room in the back of what looked like a padded room where the class had
just practiced. I didn t know it then it said OFFICE. I was amazed by the Korean artifacts. He
and my dad talked like what seemed like an hour. Then I tried on uniforms they were white and
felt like itchy paper on my skin ,but it fit. We then said good bye to the teacher and went on

Pierre Trudeau s Actions And Decisions
The October Crisis that occurred in 1970 is quite a controversial topic, however, one can say that
prime minister, Pierre Trudeau handled it quite well. Trudeau s actions and decisions to resolve
the October Crisis were justified. His actions were validated by the FLQ s (Front de LibГ©ration
du Quebec) intellectual ideas and the immediate threat he dealt with. Trudeau made quick political
decisions to handle the calamity, however, the immediate crisis was impacting the cities across
Quebec. His actions were proven to be the best and most accurate actions, because the War
Measures Actwas successful in eliminating the abrupt crisis. Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a man with
good intentions, and as prime minister he dealt with the October Crisisin a way that ensured the
safety of the province. Trudeau s character and decisions, validates his actions to resolve the crisis
in 1970.
The FLQ had many intellectual ideas that forced Trudeau to make the necessary actions towards
the crisis. There were three intentions of the FLQ kidnappings of James Cross and Pierre Laporte.
The FLQ wanted to obtain the release of 23 FLQ members jailed for bombings and other violent
offences. The group wanted to cause confusion, fear and gain publicity and sympathy for their aims
of having Quebec become an independent state, and their third motive was to trigger insurrection
and capitulation. (Tetley, p. 39) These intentions of the FLQ caused harm and chaos to the
government and the public, and

  • 2. Wisconsin Fast Plants Grow Experiment In this experiment we are testing the effect of fertilizer on the speed of plant growth. We prepared a 4 quad cell, 1 control group and 3 experimental groups. So, we had one with no fertilizer, one with three seeds of fertilizer, one with six seeds of fertilizer, and lastly, one with nine seeds of fertilizer. The plants that we grew were called Wisconsin Fast Plants, members of the crucifer family. These plants are small and easy to grow, but for optimal growth they require continuous fertilizer, water, fluorescent light, and temperature between 18 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius 24 hours a day. Fertilizers are substances that are put into soils to increase the growth of the plant. There are two different types of fertilizers, synthetic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beforehand, I believed that, if fertilizer speeds the growth of plants, then the 9 pellets of fertilizer were going to make the biggest plant the fastest. I thought this because it would have the most fertilizer and if fertilizer speeds up the growth of plants then 9 must speed it up the most. However, I was not completely right with my initial prediction. My personal data came to the conclusion that the 3 pellets made the plant grow the fastest but in the class data by the end the average data showed that 9 pellets showed the most growth. This experiment was set up as four different plant seeds in four different quadrants. Each of the four quadrants had a different amount of fertilizer. We watered them and planted them in soil then every week we checked in on our plants. We measured the size if the plants and then recorded it and put them back under the fluorescent light. Then everyone recorded their data and we watched the class data on average, then the last day we measured the mass of the plants and found the class data. So although my prediction of 9 pellets of fertilizer creating the most growth was true in the class data, it was not true in my individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Pharmacological Treatments For Opiates, Drugs, And Drugs In this essay, the effectiveness of the pharmacological treatments for opiates, nicotine, cocaine, and alcohol in relation to addiction relief and prevention will be critically evaluated. This will be accomplished through an investigation of the respective substances and their current treatment s methods and levels of success, such as the use of Substitution Therapy, agonist and antagonist treatments, and preventative drugs. Furthermore, the generation of directions for future research and treatments will be performed, particularly assessing the potentiality for remedying addiction through substance tailored vaccinations and suggestions for solidifying a scientifically accepted methodology for the treatment of cocaine dependency. Concurrently, pharmacological treatment efficacy has been assessed heavily within academic texts. The present essay will incorporate a multitude of these findings, in order to appraise the effectiveness of current addiction prevention proposals in determining empirically and clinically substantive degeneration of the largely aggressive symptoms, and the possible detrimental short and long term effects, correlated with addiction to opiates, nicotine, cocaine, and alcohol. Opiate dependency is a result of addiction to specific prescription drugs such as oxycodone, morphine, hydrocodone, etc., as well as the illegal drug, heroin. Will licensing manufacturing technology to Chinese manufacturers weaken Motorola s core competency? China is the world s largest mobile phone market. Due to the large size of the Chinese cell phone market and its potential for long term continual growth, competition for access to Chinas consumer markets is intense. These relationships will help manufacture mobile phones at the lowest cost, reduce the risks from currency fluctuation, and improve the ability to cater to the Chinese government requirements. Motorola should look into the expansion of its manufacturing plant in Tianjin which is one of the major global production bases in the world for personal communication products including the cell phones. This may help Motorola improve the relationships with the Chinese Government. Motorola should continue to expand the relationships and contracts with China Mobile, Cisco, and Nortel networks which have been a great positive impact on the success of Motorola in China. These ventures will allow Motorola to focus on its expertise in developing and distributing cell phone technology and products while the network infrastructure will be handled by a company who excels in that area. Also having joint ventures with Chinese telecommunication infrastructure companies like China Telecom and Unicom will put Motorola in the front seat compared to its competitors like Nokia, Samsung and Siemens. Equity deals with situations by applying notions of good sense and fairness .[4] (Elliott, C Quinn, F, 1996).The law is dominantly created by judge and often without checking the legislation, only by drawing analogy the previous similar cases. This moment shows the difference of the legislators in civil law and in common law. In the civil law, judges should apply the law, which was created by the legislator, on the basis of separation of powers. On the other hand, in common law the judge is given the power to create the law. Another difference between civil and common law system is the force of precedents. In civil law system, the court decides the particular cases according to the legislation and legal norms. But in the common law the courts are supposed not only to solve the cases, but also give an example of how similar cases have to be solved in the future. This means, that decisions, which are made by higher level courts in a specific areas are binding the lower ones to follow them. This makes the court in the common law the basis of legislation. Court procedures are also differentiating in both civil and common legal systems. We all know that at the court two parties cooperate by presenting their evidence to each other. Civil legal system has an inquisitorial procedure. In inquisitorial procedure the judge is the active person, who also takes more investigative role. Common law countries use the accusatorial system, which is also known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ursula Le Guin s Nine Lives as a Feminist Statement In the beginning of the 20th century, feminists movements started to arise, with the conviction of vindicate women in the social arrengement of that time, in order to get the same opportunities as men. Literature could not escape from this reality; as a result, women began to write about their situation. Ursula Le GuinВґs Nine Lives , published in the 1960Вґs, was one of the first attempts in science fiction literature to adress the condition of women in the social arrengement. In this excerpt from Kazuo Ishiguros Never Let Me Go, the author portrays the narrator as concerned while Ruth and the other girls are contrasted as rude and apathetic to reveal how compassion is lacking in the younger generations. The author portrays the narrator as uneasy over Tommy s treatment from the other kids to show how compassion is rare in young people. The narrator and the other girls were crowded around a window waiting for the boys to pull a trick on Tommy. The narrator was unsettled and searched for signs of disapproval about what the boys were going to do to Tommy (Ishiguro), but she was only met with a little laugh (Ishiguro). The narrator knew something was going to happen to Tommy. She was looking around for someone else to be just as anxious, and no one was. They even laughed a little at the notation of caring about what is about to happen. His most famous work is The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism. Weber thesis regarding capitalism is rather considered as an argument counter to Marxist thesis (which was regarding primacy of base over superstructure). Weber discussed in his book that capitalism was resulted by Protestantism which was a religious movement or more specifically speaking Calvinism. However any Calvinist who has gone through catechism would have known that seeking a sign of selection by God in economic success, is not a right thing to do; therefore it is a travesty to Weber s thesis (Kilcullen, 1996). One expects Weber to Capitalism is a result of Protestantism or to be more specific, Calvinism. Calvinism believes God has granted few with salvation whereas others have to go through damnation. This virtue isn t dependent on their good or bad actions / deeds but because God wanted it in a certain way. This belief made believers of Calvinism worried about their salvation and made them invest more efforts into economic success. This, in turn, made them believe that they were the chosen favourites of God. Furthermore, the profits made by Calvanists were re invested into the business for further profits rather than self indulgence. Hence, the concept of Protestant ethic came into place which generally refers to desire of having enormous economic success and will of working hard. This concept of work ethic ... Israeli Palestinian conflict could be described as a clash that between Israelis and Palestinian Arabs as they attempted to compete the same piece of land briefly (Dowty 2008:1, 4). The reasons that prevent a solution to the Israeli Palestinian problem will be discussed and will be divided into three parts, Israeli reasons, Palestinian reasons and the common problem between two countries. In terms of Palestinian reasons, there are three reasons, the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) Resolution 181, consequence that Israel was established in 1948 and settlement policy is enforced in Palestinian territory by Israel. For the UNGA Resolution 181, Israeli occupied more territory than Palestinians. In 1947, two state solution was passed in UNGA, Palestine was divided into two states, one for Jewish and one for Arab (El Hasan 2010: 55). When one class of society strives to better themselves and succeed in doing so, it causes corruption. Machiavelli spends a chunk of Discourses on Livy discussing how states are corrupt and the citizens within them are corrupt as well. The first important point he makes when it comes to corruption is that men do not know how to be entirely good or bad. He claims, they concluded that men clearly do not know how to be honourably bad or perfectly good, and that when an evil deed contains in itself some grandeur or some generosity, they do not know how to carry it out (Machiavelli 82). Thus, Machiavelli is elaborating on the theme of good and bad and how even those who are good and are not considered corrupt still make bad decisions sometimes. Generally, men decide on a middle course, instead of choosing a completely good or bad course. This decision is seen as most hazardous because it is hard to claim someone is good if they do not make entirely good decisions and it is hard to claim someone is bad if they do not make entirely bad decisions. The second important point Machiavelli makes is that men are easily corrupted and even those who are good can easily turn bad. The claim that the Trinity is a Hellenistic pagan corruption of the early church was denied by recent research. Whoever teaches his daughter the Torah is like one who teaches her obscenities, the Holy Spirit was poured out on all the disciples, men and women alike, on the Day of Pentecost (Bacchiocchi, 1987). Peter quoted Joel to solidify that Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. . . and on my menservants and my maidservants in those days I will pour out my Spirit (Acts 2:17 18). Maidservants meant that women had received the gift of the Holy Spirit (Bacchiocchi, 1987). Jesus was revolutionary in that he treated women and men as equals and violated many Old Testament regulations and traditions that indicated gender inequality. Robinson (2012) stated many examples of how Jesus treated women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Third And Final Constant Factor Essay The third and final constant factor originates directly as a result of the anarchic international environment. As stated, a state acts largely in its own best interest. However, given more than one state exists, multiple interests oftentimes intersect. Competition, the final constant, results from this intersection. Rarely, this competition spins out of control into armed conflict. Prior to engaging in war, a state must carefully weigh any potential benefits against likely costs. Mearsheimer defines this as calculated aggression. Most likely, state level competition remains at a level lower than war. Over time, state power balances develop and eventually solidify. Most importantly, state competition, a state s prevailing interest to secure an improved chance for its continued survival, remains firmly in place. Seen in this light, both Waltz and Gilpin s arguments for modifying or upending this balance make better sense. Waltz argues that the international structure limits state behavior. A state can pursue its interest only so far as to not upset the international balance. Gilpin steps past Waltz concluding a state can choose to remake the balance if it decides its benefits outweigh expected costs. One could view Gilpin as a balanced (no pun intended) medium between Mearsheimer s aggression and Waltz s caution. Despite their respective differences, in prescribing to a realist philosophy, Mearsheimer, Walz, and Gilpin would each conclude persistent state ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A few moments later, Luis came in to make sure Paul was okay. Luis said, Paul are you alright (Bloor 229)? The government has dithered over this clear and present danger for decades, irresponsibly kicking the can down the road into the indefinite future (Stop). Most nuclear power plants will store their nuclear waste in pools and let is set and cool for several years. Space in these pools are starting to become scarce so another solution is to store some of this waste into concrete and steel cylinders. The big problem is that nuclear power plants are closing but what remains is their waste that they leave behind for others to worry about. Some companies let their waste sit for long periods of time until the waste is thought to be no longer hazardous. The government is now acting on this matter by having nuclear power plants remove or eliminate the nuclear waste that is left behind in the reactor sites. This will also reduce liability on taxpayers (Chapman). This liability could reach up to $500 million per year after 2020 if the spent fuel remains where it is (Chapman). Some nuclear power plants convert a wide variety of radioactive waste materials into forms that are suitable for their subsequent management, including transportation, storage and final disposal (Treatment). Some companies have found other solutions to disposing of their waste like minimising the volume of the waste or reduce the potential hazard of the waste by conditioning it into a stable solid form ... • 35. Importance Of Depository Receipt Is A Negotiable... INTRODUCTION The past few decades have witnessed the increased internationalization of various firms through cross listings on international exchanges. This has been facilitated by market liberalisation, which has led to greater integration of global securities markets. Cross border listing has become one of the avenues for the integration of global securities markets. There are two forms of cross border listing, namely, direct listing and indirect listing. Direct listing implies that the firm concerned offers ordinary shares to the public. Indirect listing on exchanges is through Depository Receipts (DRs). Depository receipt is a negotiable certificate issued by a bank in a domestic country that represent ownership of shares in companies of other countries. Cross listing, particularly through DRs such as American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) or Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs), is a popular way of internationalisation among firms from emerging economies. In addition to Europe and America, International firms are allowed to cross list in other countries through the DR programme. There could be several reasons for a domestic company to cross list, such as an expanding investor base, the desire to improve stock liquidity through its highly liquid secondary market, the increasing visibility of the company, a growing customer base, and the wish to take advantage of higher valuations. An Analysis Of Porter s Five Forces In The Porter The five forces used to analyze the level of competition formulated by Porter are the threat of new entrants, the bargaining power of suppliers, the bargaining power of buyers, the threat of substitute products or services and rivalry among existing competitors (M. E. Porter, 2008). Two additional forces, proposed by Boehlje Olson (2010), provide an external dynamic to Porter s original five forces, namely technology and other drivers of change. In order to use the Porter five forces as an adequate backbone for describing the competition in our desired sector, we need thorough knowledge of the factors comprising these forces. We begin by providing an overview of general important factors used in recent literature. Threat of new entrants... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Porter (2008) negotiating leverage will increase if there are relatively few buyers or purchases have a large volume compared to single supplier output, if suppliers have undifferentiated products, the switching costs are low and if backwards integration is feasible. The agribusiness chain has unique features such as perishability, seasonality, rapidly changing supply and demand, use of contracts and sometimes limited price information, which will shape the supplier buyer interactions (Cook, 2011; Olson Boehlje, 2010). Similar to the bargaining power of suppliers, producers are placed in the middle of the chain. Therefore they will act as buyers to the input sector while being sellers to the retail sector. This results in a unique and often vulnerable position in the value chain. This relationship will also be thoroughly discussed in following paragraphs when we analyze the price transmission and ...
