Women s Role In The Age Of Reform
The Age of Reform began when many women reacted to the conditions and inequalities of life in the
1820s. Women played a prominent role in the Religious and Reform Movements for many reasons.
The evangelical teachings of the church about female worth struck deep in the hearts of many, and
pushed them to bring their families back to God (Herrera). Women made up a great percent of the
church and their attitudes brought forth a new way of thinking. Though women played a big role in
this part in American history, they still had to face many obstacles along the way. Up to this point in
American history, women were traditionally expected to care for children and watch the household.
Families began having fewer children so there were more resources

The Problem Of Team Projects
Team projects have always been one of my biggest fears; there are so many things to reason before
beginning to becoming a team. From the moment when the professor says there s a group project one s
mind can go swirling into a bundle of thoughts, doubts, and vaguely thought out wonders.
Furthermore, there is the thought of I wonder , I wonder if I m going to get the smart people, I wonder
if that guy is friendly, or I hope there isn t high expectations for the tasks at hand. Being introverted is
one thing, knowing that there is there is no way to pass the class without participating is another. Now,
not only do i have a group project, but I also have to overcome myself and do what s necessary to
succeed. On forward after getting my group members I was really confident in them from the start,
they all looked the part and seemed if they had sense of humor. Meeting them on the day we were
assigned to our groups was indeed mentally stimulating because we got to work right away. The only
question came to mind is who will be the leader of this group? In retrospect, our team of six was
chosen to be group five and we were assigned with the awesome category of leadership. Furthermore,
after some very silly hilarious brainstorming we came up with our team name Alpha team five. One
might ask what leadership is. Leadership is such a challenging term to describe, as it can be
determined in so many ways. According to the book of organizational behavior a leader is described as

The Human Utilization Of Creepy Crawlies As Sustenance
Entomophagy is the human utilization of creepy crawlies as sustenance: human insectivore. The eggs,
hatchlings, pupae and grown ups of certain bug species have been eaten by man following ancient
times and keep on being a thing of the human sustenance in present day times. Human bug eating is
normal to societies in many parts of the world, including North, Central and South America; and
Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. More than 1,000 types of creepy crawlies are known to be
eaten in 80% of the world s countries. The aggregate number of ethnic gatherings recorded to practice
entomophagy is around 3,000 (Marler 2012). Be that as it may, in a few social orders bug eating is
remarkable or even forbidden. Today creepy crawly eating is ... Show more content on

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Throughout the world there is a long history of insect and terrestrial arthropod consumption as part of
the human diet, and in the last years this attitude is arrived also in Europe. Several studies suggest that
insects can be, for the future, one of the best sources of protein for humans and animals. The aims of
this project are to study the attitude of the people towards eating insect, called Entomophagy, and to
evaluate the factors responsible of it (Nadeau 2014). In practice, it is not possible to eliminate pest
insects from the human food chain. Insects are present in many foods, especially grains. Food laws in
many countries do not prohibit insect parts in food, but rather, they limit the quantity. People in rice
eating regions, for example, typically ingest significant numbers of rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae)
larvae, and this has been suggested as an important source of vitamins (Srivastava Babu Pandey
2009).
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
1. What is the attitude of people towards Entomophagy?
2. Is the trend of Entomophagy increasing?
3. Are people welcoming to the view of substituting insects as being a high protein diet?
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
Eating creepy crawlies has not ordinarily been received in the West. On the other hand, a couple of
organizations have presented items made utilizing creepy crawlies. The essential vehicle for this so far
has been powder produced using bugs used as a fixing (regularly alluded to as bug flour,

The Major Differences Between UPLC And HPLC
As previously mentioned the major difference UPLC and HPLC is the pressure and particle size.
Pressures of up 1000 bar can be achieved with UPLC, which is necessary to maintain shorter retention
times. In UPLC smaller particles are used. These smaller particles provide a greater surface area of the
stationary phase within the column, making the separation of the substances much more efficient.
However, the smaller the particles are, the more pressure that is required. A summary of the main
differences between HPLC and UPLC can be seen in the table below:
Attribute HPLC UPLC
Pressure 6000 Psi 100,000 Psi
Particle Size 5μm 1.7μm
Flow Rate Millilitres per minute Microlitres per minute
Max Resolution Relatively low Relatively high
The lower particle size is the true reason for UPLC increased flow rate and resolution. This can be
shown mathematically using Van Deemter s equation: H = A + B/µ + Cµ. H being the plate height and
µ being the particle size. The A constant remains constant independent of flow rate (known as the
Eddy diffusion term ). The B constant is the diffusion coefficient, and C is the analyte mass transfer
coefficient. As µ decreases, the A and C values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gumustas et al [3] reviewed that UPLC was more efficient than HPLC. In comparison to HPLC,
UPLC can run higher resolution methods, using shorter columns, smaller size of particles, with higher
flow rates under high pressure. The injection volume of UPLC is almost ten times smaller than that of
HPLC, which results in good peak shapes and low carryover effects related to column diameter. It was
also reviewed that the major disadvantages of UPLC were the high prices of purchasing and
maintaining the instrument as well as the shorter column life due to the increased back pressure.
However, the advantages of less solvent consumption, faster chromatography and better resolution
properties overcome these

Renal Biopsy Research Paper
Renal biopsy an invasive procedure in which a sample of renal tissue is obtained(1) . Microscopic
examination of the biopsied tissue can provide information needed to diagnose, monitor and/or treat
renal disorder. The introduction of renal biopsy in clinical practice has represented one of the most
important advances in the field of clinical nephrology. Renal biopsy has contributed greatly to l
classification of intrinsic renal diseases and, therefore, to a better knowledge of the pathogenesis
involved. In spite of the flood of new and less invasive tests, renal biopsy is still an irreplaceable tool
in assessing diagnosis and prognosis and guiding, the treatment of many renal diseases. It is being
more frequently used, especially with the advancement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Urinary tract infection: Active untreated infection of the upper urinary tract is considered a
contraindication to renal biopsy, in view of the potential communication between the collecting
system and a possible perirenal hematoma, with consequent catastrophic infection of the hematoma.
5. High blood pressure: The risk of complications after biopsy is directly related to the degree of
elevation of blood pressure. Although normalization of blood pressure with antihypertensive agents
may reduce the risk of complications, nevertheless, the transaction of sclerotic vessels is more likely
to produce severe hemorrhage. Uncontrolled hypertension should be considered as a high risk factor
for complications.
6. Coagulation disorders: Hemorrhagic diathesis is a formal contraindication to renal biopsy. Many
patients with renal dysfunction present a prolongation of the skin bleeding time associated with
normal results on coagulation tests. The risk of hemorrhagic complications after biopsy is high in
patients with very prolonged bleeding time. However, in many cases preoperative infusion of
desmopressin (0.3 Aµmol/kg over 30 min) can achieve normal values of the bleeding time for some
hours and allow renal

The Impact Of Corporate Social Responsibility On The Food...
Humans are born with the natural tendency to aid one another through mediums such as being
proactive on social as well as ethical issues. When one compares this natural tendency to the industries
of today, one see s this voluntary behaviour in a deliberate and compelled act by most involved, which
is truly known as Corporate Social Responsibility. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is known to
be the voluntary model that is not only used by many businesses, but industries themselves to self
regulate their active compliance with the law, ethical standards within their respective sectors
alongside achieving their economical success. CSR initiatives may contain consumer s welfare and
providing them with true knowledge of products, animal welfare, employees welfare as well as
reducing environmental impacts. Today, many businesses involved and those who directly fall under
the food industry lack the voluntary act to carry out CSR initiatives and this can be seen through
consumers behaviour and attitudes, animal welfare as well as environmental impacts.
Firstly, the lack of CSR initiatives in the food industry today, can be seen through the behaviour and
attitude of its consumers. Many consumers have shifted from the traditional blindfold purchasing at
the supermarket to making valid and reasonable choices. For instance, a large corporation like Nestlé
is currently under the heat due to its irresistible chocolate bars. This is due to the prevalence of
statistics, facts as

The Pros And Cons Of Mascots
Throughout ancient times, many names have identified as racial slurs. Most recently, controversy has
surrounded multiple sports teams such as the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, and the Washington
Redskins; however, some may believe the Braves and Indians name is more to honor them, instead of
discriminate against them. The conflict of the Washington Redskins seems highest compared to other
teams. This kind of denigration has both visible and unseen consequences for Native Americans
(Keim 2). Throughout this paper opinions on the argument has been voiced, polls which have taken
placed, and protests have developed for both sides of the argument will be taken discussed to find a
resolution for the potential name change of the Washington Redskins. ... Show more content on

today (King 5). Times have changed in the twenty first century and everybody should be respected as

internalize the rituals and traditions associated with both. People would not like having mascots like
the Fighting Jewish, Blacks, Latinos, Orientals, Caucasians, etc. Making the situation even worse, this

Explain the Factors Which Make It Difficult to Amend the...
Q. Explain the factors which make it difficult to amend the US Constitution (15 marks) To amend the
US Constitution, a bill has to go through a two stage process: proposal and ratification. The proposal
stage has to have two thirds majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Every
successful amendment has started this way and even the failed ones. A proposal can also be made by a
Constitutional convention, which is a one off body which is put together for a specific purpose, and
this is called by Congress on petition by two thirds of the states. This method has never been used.
The problem with this proposal method is that the Constitution doesn t state how it should be done and
there is no mechanism. There are, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there are implications for ratification. Thirty eight states are needed for ratification. The
problem with this is that there are huge variations in political culture of states the South is known to be
Conservative, North East or West Coast is known to be liberal/Cosmopolitan, North is known to be
urban and industrial and the Midwest is known to be rural and agricultural. Therefore, with the
differences in political culture, there are demands for a nationwide consensus which can prove
difficult. An example of this was the Equal Rights Act which failed to pass the ratification stage as it
was 3 states shy of the 38 needed to pass the ratification stage. It was argued that there was already the
14th Amendment which states the Equal Opportunities Act. But the Equal Rights Act failed because it
ran out of time there was a 7 year time limit and it took 10 years. The amendment process takes place
contemporaneously, meaning it is based on issues happening at the moment. There was also an
economic factor which was said to prevent this Act from passing. Big businesses would have had to
pay out more to ensure both male and females received equal pay. Often these corporate companies
would have connections to politicians themselves, to oppose the Act because the businesses had access
to them and pressure groups did not. The pressure

Analysis Of Never Let Me Go
The Asian book Never Let Me Go written by Kazuo Ishiguro takes place in England in the 1990s. The
author shows relations to this book by naming it Never Let Me Go. I say this because in the book there
is a character who sings a song that is named Never Let Me Go. The main theme in this novel is find
out who your true friends are and realize not every friendship is going to be perfect, you will go
through struggles just like any other type of relationship. Never Let Me Go happens in a tragic form
generally 1990s England, where the lives of customary nationals are drawn out through a state
endorsed program of human cloning. The clones, alluded to as understudies, experience childhood in
uncommon organizations far from the outside world. As youthful grown ups, they start to give their
key organs. All givers get their mind from assigned carers, clones who have not yet started the gift
procedure. The clones keep on donating organs until they finish, which is a code word for death after
the gift of three or four organs. Be that as it may, this preface is not quickly clear to the peruser.
Toward the begin of the novel, storyteller Kathy H. only presents herself as a thirty one year old carer.
She has been a carer for almost twelve years, however will abandon her part in a couple of months.
Kathy discloses that she needs to return to her recollections of Tommy and Ruth, two companions who
grew up with her at the Hailsham school. Kathy does not clarify the gift program,

An Individual With Visual Impairment
Today, I will attempt to understand what it is like for an individual with a visual impairment to
complete a task that would be very simple for an individual with sight. This exercise is being
conducted to help me gain an understanding of how an individual with visual impairment would
approach this task. I will try to make myself some cereal, eat it, and clean up my mess. My son Jason
will remain in the kitchen with me as a protective measure.
I stand in the middle of the kitchen while the blindfold is applied to my eyes. Immediately, it is dark.
My first thought is what is the easiest to get for a bowl of cereal. I decided to get a bowl from the
counter. I rely on my memory to guide me to the cabinet through feeling for the counter top to the left
of my position, then I reach up to grab a bowl. I feel around with my hand to make sure that I am at
the top of the stack of bowls and then I grab the bowl. I feel with my right hand to make sure there is a
free space for my bowl on the counter and that I am not to close to the edge. Then with my right hand,
I close the cabinet. I edge myself over to the left again, following the counter top. As I reach the end, I
stretch out my arm to help guide me towards the stove. The spoons are in the left lower drawer. I open
the drawer and feel the different utensils. I find the small size spoon and pull it out. I then make my
way back across the kitchen to place the spoon beside the bowl. I go back to the stove area the same
way that I

Criticisms Of A Humanistic Psychodynamic Approach
There can be many criticisms for humanistic therapy. This approach can be thought of as too positive
at times, in regards to human behavior. With a humanistic approach individuals are assumed to be
naturally good and will decide to follow the most positive way of doing things, by either making
themselves and the world around them a better place (Mcleod, 2015). Choice and free will at times
can be limited to some people, which then can make the application of this approach difficult.
According to McLeod, Humanistic psychologists argue that objective reality is less important than a
person s subjective perception and understanding of the world . (Mcleod, 2015). This can cause issues
when trying to develop treatment and study it, different factors must be taken into consideration. This
means that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The client centered method is no longer defined in terms of specific techniques or modes of response,
but rather in terms of certain basic attitudes (Gendlin, 1962 as cited in Rogers, 1957, 1959). With the
isolation of schizophrenic patients and also the fact that these patients were assigned psychotherapy
involuntarily , would account for their characteristic refusals, silences, and absence of verbal
exploration, as previously mentioned. (Gendlin, 1962). According to Gendlin, the attitudes of the
therapists had the tendency to greatly increase patients reactions and behaviors, and as such, lead to
modifications in their psychotherapy process. Second, the genuine expressiveness of the of the
therapist is significant as well. It is important for the therapist to express themselves in a way that they
clearly state their feelings at the time, without judgment. It can be said that when therapists take this
approach they have the ability to often solidify and continue relationships by expressing themselves
openly and being genuine. (Gendlin,

character who keeps the Joads together. Ma Joad displays multiple acts of care, discipline and decision

Pro Choice Vs Pro Life
Most people don t know that there has been approximately 57,762,169 abortions since the decision
was made in Roe vs. Wade in 1973 (Life News). Some people look at this number and are appalled.
But others see this and think of all the people who used abortion as a means to a second chance.
Abortion has long been a controversial topic in the U.S. but lots of people are choosing sides without
really knowing all the facts. Abortion can be seen from many different sides but most know these
sides as pro choice or pro life. Pro choice is known for supporting women s right to choose whether
they want to have the baby or not and pro life is known for supporting the life of the unborn child. The
big question is who are abortions really hurting and who is pro life really helping.
Let s start with Pro Life, after doing some research I have found that this seems to be a more popular
decision. There are a lot of reasons floating around as to why abortion should be illegal one of the
main reasons is the effect that having abortions can have on the woman who is having the abortion
done. I have found that having one or many abortions can cause physical effects like cramping,
abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding or spotting. It can also cause more
dangerous effects like heavy bleeding, fever, infection, damage to the uterus or cervix, and possible
death. It can also have many emotional side effects like regret, a sense of loneliness, anxiety, or
nightmares. There are

The Characteristics And Effects Of The Human Brain
The Human Brain is the most important organ in the body. Much like the headquarters of the body.
Without the brain the rest of the body will suffer. The brain also creates different traits and
personalities. How ever when the brain doesn t function properly it will cause many effects to an
individual. These effects can range from minimal to severe, depending on what is wrong with the
brain.
The human brain is protected by a bone structure in a form of a skull. The brain has a light pink, pail,
and noodle look to it. It has lines in the brain to section parts of the brain. The brain feels like jello, it s
stays in place but squishy. Put to much pressure on it, it will break. The human brain is very sensitive.
The human brain is also wet and slimy, like the feeling of boggers. The human brain has its own odd
smell. Like rotting food in the trash. The average brain weighs about three pounds. Robbie Gonzalez
stated Assume it feels solid, firm, almost rubber like. But the brains you encounter in a lab setting
have almost always been fixed and preserved with chemicals like formaldehyde, which have a
dramatic effect on the texture and firmness of tissue like brain matter (Gizmodo). What Robbie is
saying that brains that are in lab class feel different than a fresh brain. The reason why they feel
different is that in the lab their preserved with chemicals. That s what Robbie was talking about.
There are three major components that make up the brain. The Cerebrum, Brainstem,

The Presidential System Of Government
No matter the system of government, there will always be advantages and disadvantages to it. Not
everyone wants or expects the same same things so how can the government supply everything that is
needed and wanted by the people no matter how hard they try. Three of the systems of government:
presidential, parliamentary, and communist arouse advantages and disadvantages within the
government. Within the governmental structure of the presidential system, the executive branch is led
by the president, who is both the head of state and the government. In its existence, it is separate from
legislature wherein it cannot dismiss. As it is separate from those rulings, the president does not have
as much power or control creating a system of checks and balances, allowing each branch to monitor
one another. It is a stable system that is kept in line as it has fixed two year terms. The people must
elect or re elect the president to have them a longer amount of time, making his leadership and
authority more legitimate as the people choose him. To appeal to the people, political parties are
formed to uphold the potential presidential candidates. These parties are long term and established
ones that are trustworthy. Throughout it all, the people have the choice of their candidates as almost
every position has a term in which a new person must be elected or another must be elected. Public
opinion constantly changes, as does their opinion on the people they had elected into power. While

The United States V. Virginia Case Study
When Virginia Military Institute (VMI) was founded in 1839, it was established as a male only
institute. At this time and even up to the mid 1970 s, most colleges and institutes were single sexed
schools. They, at that time, only wanted to teach and build young men to transform the world; not
women. The state arguably stated that women would not be able to hand the level of training involved
in going to VMI (Justia). However, once most other colleges and institutions opened admissions, VMI
still stood their ground as a male only institution. The question they then faced was whether or not
their tradition to be male only was constitutional?
The case of VMI went to the district courts, and was deemed to be a tradition and that this tradition
was accepted. However, the Fourth Circuit rejected the decision. They found the policy in which they
made admission decisions unconstitutional. In response Virginia tried coming up with a women only
institution that would equal up to VMI. They introduced Virginia Women s Institute for Leadership
(VMIL) to the Fourth Circuit. Even though both programs did not require the same level of skill, the
Fourth Circuit accepted that the two institutions were equivalent to each other because they offered

New Market Trends And Strategies Essay
Today, the global business sphere is growing swiftly in terms of organizations and management in
general. New market trends and strategies are being implemented from old fashion to modern ways, in
order to best manage and take control of the organization, along with boosting the employees
confidence. Ever since the dawn of trade and services, the customer has been the main priority in the
promise of a fruitful business. In order to efficiently serve the valuable customer, organizations have
opted to allocate more and more cash towards Research Development in millions of dollars, along
with efficiently knowing when to change management in correspondence with the organization s
progress. This has all helped with an advancement in corporate technology and asset growth in the
desire of pursuing a healthy growth of profits in the long term.
These types of changes today have been essentially globalized, along with organizational adaptation
and control change, both of which strive to sustain the customer s loyalty effectively. Therefore, from

of products. In chemistry, there are eight different basic types of reactions. The eight basic reactions
include: combustion, synthesis, decomposition, precipitation, single replacement, double replacement,
acid/base, and redox reactions. These reactions are categorized into their reaction type by their
differences and similarities. The first type of reaction is combustion. A combustion reaction is when a
substance is combined with oxygen and releases heat and light energy. An example of a combustion
reaction is the combustion of hydrogen. When a balloon with oxygen and hydrogen is supplied with
heat by a candle, it triggers an explosive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another known name for this type of reaction is a displacement reaction. These type of solutions
mostly occur in liquid solution and the amount of energy used in this type of reaction is smaller than
that of a synthesis or decomposition reaction. In this type of reaction, in a compound, an element
replaces a similar element. For example we have elements A, B, and X. In this equation we heave
element A + compound BX. Element A will replace element B to form B + AX. (A + BX B + AX)
Another reaction is a double replacement. This reaction usually produces an insoluble gas or water.
Double replacement is when in two compounds, ions will exchange places in a liquid solution
(aqueous solution) to form a new compound. For example A, B, X, and Y are ions in the first part of
the equation, AX + BY. The ions X and Y will replace each other to form a new compound to form AY
+ BX. ( AX + BY AY + BY) A different type of reaction would be an acid/base reaction. This reaction
is a neutralization. An acid is a substances that looses protons which are H+ ions and a base is a
substance that receives protons. When equal amounts of protons are lost by an acid and the same
amounts of protons are being received by a base, they neutralize each other. That creates a product that
is neither acidic nor basic by the two substances (acid and a

Dubliners By James Joyce s Dubliners
In James Joyce s Dubliners, the reader experiences the different lives of Dublin s inhabitants. Each
Dubliner has different problems, fears, hopes, and dreams, which allows culminates into many
different perspectives. Joyce masterfully writes the daily lives of these people without any
romanticism. The Dubliners stories are a small snippet into their full lives, while the reader does not
get the full story, he does not need to. Not much may seem to happen in the stories, but profound
themes and messages are hidden beneath the words. In the story An Encounter, a group of boys
imagine they are in the Wild West, while staging mock battles of cowboys vs. Indians. The story
includes many encounters that present themselves as ordinary; however this is far from true. In fact,
the story is largely commentating on often mocking Irish religious life and escapism. In the beginning
of the story one of the boys, Leo Dillon, is scolded by Father Butler for reading The Half Penny
Marvel. Father Butler considers the comic as nonsense and tells Leo that his Roman History is far
more cultured and important (Joyce 12). A religious figure like Father Butler is common among Joyce
s works, as he has always shown contempt for religion. In a sense, Father Butler creates structure for
the boys, but it is monotonous and rigid. Clearly Father Butler does not approve of Leo s fascinations
for the Wild West so he condemns him. The lack of support for imagination or freedom is snuffed out

Positive Effects Of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a Revolution that took place between 1750 1830. During this time there
were some hardships and positive effects with a little bit of both. Throughout this Revolution there
were more negative effects than positive effects. Some negative and positive Effects of this Revolution
are Working Conditions and Wages, Child Labor, Changing Role of Women, Condition in the Coal
Mines, Urbanization, Education, Changing Class Structure, and Industrial Production. Work back in
the 1700 s and 1800 s was known to be very hard and long. Working conditions in the factories were
very hard because they had to work 12 16 hours, 6 days a week of nothing but straight work in the
blazing heat. If you were late to work your wage would decrease even more. They didn t get frequent
breaks, they had to find a time to eat while they were working. There were some days they wouldn t
eat or drink anything all day because they had to constantly be working. Working in a factory was not
flexible with schedules, so most of the time if you had to do something you were not able to do it.
Accidents in the factory were very common because the machines they used were not very safe. Most
workers in this factory got black lung disease from the black coal mine. If you got sick or injured
working in the factory you would lose your job. Therefore you would have to find something else to
do but there was not very many options to choose from. Most likely you would end up not having a
job and not be able to provide for your family. Children back then were very weak and did not have a
good life experience. The poor families were not able to afford enough food to keep their children
healthy which caused them to have weaker bodies and were more likely to get sick. They could get
sick as easy as just breathing in dusty air or they could even become deformed from accidents with
machines. Both boys and girls were hired to work in the factories. These children s parents accepted
the fact they worked in factories because they worked on farms and they needed the money. Not only
were boys and girls hired but sometimes orphans were and they were often beaten. Sometimes
children preferred to adults because they were so small they could

Globalization Is A Term For International Affairs And The...
Globalization is a term that came into common usage in the 1980 s to describe the increased
movement of people, knowledge and ideas, and goods and money across national borders that has led
to increased interconnectedness among the world s populations, economically, politically, socially and
culturally . Although globalization is often thought of in economic terms (i.e., the global marketplace
), this process has many social and political implications as well . Many in local communities
associate globalization with modernization (i.e., the transformation of traditional societies into
Western industrialized ones). At the global level, globalization is thought of in terms of the challenges
it poses to the role of governments in international affairs and the global economy .
The world before the 1800 s was ruled mostly by the Kings and there was system of Law in place . As
the world entered the 19th Century, there were several changes in system of Ruling. It is important to
note that, the world within a span of few decades witnessed an unprecedented growth in the several
sectors. Trade and Commerce was developing at a rapid pace. As a result of which several people
started searching opportunities for a better living. As a result of rapid development in the Science
Technology, Trade Commerce led the resourceful countries to have an access on the developed
mechanisms . Those countries which had sufficient resources to maintain and develop had an idea of

Personality As An Understanding Of Personality
As an understanding of personality, it is said that the essential paradigms of a personality are defined
by individual s characteristics and behaviour. However over a period of time an individual s
personality can change due to genetics and the altering nature of the environment they are placed
within. Personality is in reference to individuals variances in their patterns of feeling, thinking and
behaving (Encyclopedia of Psychology: 8 Volume Set, 2000). This essay will be focusing on the basic
dimensions of a personality and also the factors influencing personality change. This then will be
contrasted against a study that develops that personality does not change over time.
Personality not only changes over time and experience but also manipulates as the individual goes
through varying facades within their life. Several personality psychologists believe that personality is
defined by five dimensions as suggested by McCrae and Costa (The Big Five dimensions of
personality?, V.Egan, 1988). This was found by testing the conduct group by allowing them to choose
a solution to a question that the teste believed was most suitable and thus showed that the test groups
had presented 5 dominant characteristics, extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism
and openness (The Big Five dimensions of personality?, V.Egan, 1988). Extroversion is looking into
the individual s excitability, sociability and the high amounts of emotional expression (Very Well,
2016).

Women s Rights Thesis
Woman s rights alludes to political, social, and financial developments went for setting up more
noteworthy rights, legitimate insurance for ladies, as well as ladies freedom. It incorporates a
percentage of the sociological hypotheses and methods of insight worried with issues of sexual
orientation distinction. Nancy Cott characterizes woman s rights as the confidence in the significance
of sexual orientation balance, discrediting the thought of sex progressive system as a socially
developed idea.
Woman s rights has earned itself an awful notoriety, however it never undermined sex contrasts that
exist in the middle of guys and females. A man can never be as great a mother as a female can. Also, a
lady can never be as great a father as a male can. While tolerating these anatomical and physiological
contrasts between the two sexes, woman s rights looks for both sexes to be similarly regarded. They
are both human and as an animal types, people can t advance without both of them. ... Show more

The main wave happened in the nineteenth and mid twentieth century s, the second happened in the

relationship in the middle of men and women s liberation has been unpredictable. Verifiably, various
men have drawn in with women s liberation. Logician Jeremy Bentham requested equivalent rights for
ladies in the eighteenth century. In 1866, logician John Stuart Mill introduced a ladies request to the
British Parliament and upheld a correction to the 1867 Reform

Speech On Mid Day Naps
In recent years, people have begun discussing the concept of napping being beneficial, even to adults.
It would seem that many benefits of a midday nap have been uncovered. Many famous people, such as
Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, and even as far back as napoleon, were known
to appreciate napping, and perhaps they were onto something. Some even posit that the accepted
human sleep pattern is not the natural human sleep pattern; it is merely one adopted as a result of our
busy schedules. Questions Is it beneficial for adults to nap midday? If so, for how long? What are the
positive and negative effects of afternoon naps? Significance Our current sleep schedules may not be
the most conducive method for us. Adding a nap into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Benefits of Napping. Harvard Health, May 2012, www.health.harvard.edu/healthbeat/the benefits
of napping. Harvard Health Publications summarizes a study done on the benefits of napping in older
adults. In this study, healthy older people had their sleep monitored for a few days. Half of the
participants were then told to take short naps daily, while half were told to take long naps. When
measured again two and four weeks later, both groups had increased total amounts of sleep, without
any downsides commonly associated with napping, such as sleepiness during the day or inability to
sleep at night. Very few have more respect than me for Harvard, I would venture to say. As a top
institution in the country, I am inclined to accept this source as a reliable one. However, I am not
entirely sure about the usefulness of this article to my topic. It does, of course, discuss the benefits of
naps, but it only looks at a very narrow section of it, specifically in 50 80 year old adults in good
health. It does not discuss implications of this study for people who do not have 45 minutes to two
hours a day to devote to naps, or how it can be helpful to students or people in the work

My Struggles with English Composition Essay
My Struggles with English Composition
...As for all the seniors, I want you to challenge yourselves this year and don t think you re going to
cruise through to graduation. Mrs. Smith, County High School. Although some seniors in high school
refuse to take a hard schedule, I decided to take a challenging composition course my last year of high
school and learned more than ever before from it. My teacher, Mr. Bacz, focused mostly on
vocabulary, grammar, and how to right an essay. Each one of these subjects combined to give me a
year of hard work, which eventually paid off.
Since, I have always struggled in English, I thought this class was just going to be another hardship. It

Along with vocabulary, grammar is another area in which I had problems. For instance, I was still
getting confused about proper sentence structure. I worked on this by completing a 30 page workbook
full of different sentences to assist me. From learning verbs to compound complex sentences the
worksheets covered it all. I was starting to realize this class and Mr. Horbacz were all about fine
tuning me for my big transition into college. The next thing I did was learn how to organize my
thoughts onto paper and write an essay. I knew how to write a basic five paragraph essay, but my skills
were limited. These are all things I struggled with at the beginning of the year, but soon I started to
grow in each area.
After the first couple of months, improvements in my school work were beginning to show, and I liked
it. My vocabulary abilities were revealing themselves as well. For example, when I would read
homework in other classes the words that would sometimes confuse me began to make sense. I would
also listen to other people s conversations on the street and it seemed as if the vocabulary words that I
had just studied the week before, could be heard. It was the weirdest thing. Likewise, my grammar
was developing nicely. For instance, when I would read books I could see the different ways sentences
were portrayed. Things that I never picked up before were coming to me so much easier. This class

The, And Administrative Decrees Documented During The...
After Alexander the Great conquest of Egypt in 332 BC, Egypt was ruled for the following three
centuries by the foreign Greek dynasty of the Ptolemies. Although Egypt was subjugated by Alexander
in 332 BC it wasn t actually until 305 BC that the Ptolemaic dynasty was officially established.
Ptolemaic Egypt would have been considered one of the two greatest powers in the Hellenic East.
However, there is evidence that shows that the first troubles that Ptolemaic Egypt had to face actually
originated from Egypt itself. These troubles were formed largely due to the ethnic tension that had
formed with the native Egyptians and the immigrated Greeks. There was a third community of people
present in Ptolemaic Egypt at this time, these people being that of the Jewish faith (find better way to
introduce this shit). It is the hope of this essay to prove through analyse of literary texts, papyri, and
administrative decrees documented during the reign of the Ptolemaic dynasty that the tension between
these two groups was extremely strong. This can be attributed to a fusion of the Greeks disdain for the
native Egyptians and the Egyptians resentment of the Greeks due to the ill treatment they receive from
them.
Even from the very first migration of Greeks in Egypt, Ptolemaic Egypt was a bureaucracy were in
which your social standing was determined by your race, and the prevailing ethnicity was that of the
Greeks. Although the Greek were the minority in Egypt this did not stop from being

  • 2. Women s Role In The Age Of Reform The Age of Reform began when many women reacted to the conditions and inequalities of life in the 1820s. Women played a prominent role in the Religious and Reform Movements for many reasons. The evangelical teachings of the church about female worth struck deep in the hearts of many, and pushed them to bring their families back to God (Herrera). Women made up a great percent of the church and their attitudes brought forth a new way of thinking. Though women played a big role in this part in American history, they still had to face many obstacles along the way. Up to this point in American history, women were traditionally expected to care for children and watch the household. Families began having fewer children so there were more resources ... • 3. The Problem Of Team Projects Team projects have always been one of my biggest fears; there are so many things to reason before beginning to becoming a team. From the moment when the professor says there s a group project one s mind can go swirling into a bundle of thoughts, doubts, and vaguely thought out wonders. Furthermore, there is the thought of I wonder , I wonder if I m going to get the smart people, I wonder if that guy is friendly, or I hope there isn t high expectations for the tasks at hand. Being introverted is one thing, knowing that there is there is no way to pass the class without participating is another. Now, not only do i have a group project, but I also have to overcome myself and do what s necessary to succeed. On forward after getting my group members I was really confident in them from the start, they all looked the part and seemed if they had sense of humor. Meeting them on the day we were assigned to our groups was indeed mentally stimulating because we got to work right away. The only question came to mind is who will be the leader of this group? In retrospect, our team of six was chosen to be group five and we were assigned with the awesome category of leadership. Furthermore, after some very silly hilarious brainstorming we came up with our team name Alpha team five. One might ask what leadership is. Leadership is such a challenging term to describe, as it can be determined in so many ways. According to the book of organizational behavior a leader is described as ... • 4. The Human Utilization Of Creepy Crawlies As Sustenance Entomophagy is the human utilization of creepy crawlies as sustenance: human insectivore. The eggs, hatchlings, pupae and grown ups of certain bug species have been eaten by man following ancient times and keep on being a thing of the human sustenance in present day times. Human bug eating is normal to societies in many parts of the world, including North, Central and South America; and Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. More than 1,000 types of creepy crawlies are known to be eaten in 80% of the world s countries. The aggregate number of ethnic gatherings recorded to practice entomophagy is around 3,000 (Marler 2012). Be that as it may, in a few social orders bug eating is remarkable or even forbidden. Today creepy crawly eating is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Throughout the world there is a long history of insect and terrestrial arthropod consumption as part of the human diet, and in the last years this attitude is arrived also in Europe. Several studies suggest that insects can be, for the future, one of the best sources of protein for humans and animals. The aims of this project are to study the attitude of the people towards eating insect, called Entomophagy, and to evaluate the factors responsible of it (Nadeau 2014). In practice, it is not possible to eliminate pest insects from the human food chain. Insects are present in many foods, especially grains. Food laws in many countries do not prohibit insect parts in food, but rather, they limit the quantity. People in rice eating regions, for example, typically ingest significant numbers of rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae) larvae, and this has been suggested as an important source of vitamins (Srivastava Babu Pandey 2009). RESEARCH QUESTIONS 1. What is the attitude of people towards Entomophagy? 2. Is the trend of Entomophagy increasing? 3. Are people welcoming to the view of substituting insects as being a high protein diet? SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY Eating creepy crawlies has not ordinarily been received in the West. On the other hand, a couple of organizations have presented items made utilizing creepy crawlies. The essential vehicle for this so far has been powder produced using bugs used as a fixing (regularly alluded to as bug flour, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Major Differences Between UPLC And HPLC As previously mentioned the major difference UPLC and HPLC is the pressure and particle size. Pressures of up 1000 bar can be achieved with UPLC, which is necessary to maintain shorter retention times. In UPLC smaller particles are used. These smaller particles provide a greater surface area of the stationary phase within the column, making the separation of the substances much more efficient. However, the smaller the particles are, the more pressure that is required. A summary of the main differences between HPLC and UPLC can be seen in the table below: Attribute HPLC UPLC Pressure 6000 Psi 100,000 Psi Particle Size 5μm 1.7μm Flow Rate Millilitres per minute Microlitres per minute Max Resolution Relatively low Relatively high The lower particle size is the true reason for UPLC increased flow rate and resolution. This can be shown mathematically using Van Deemter s equation: H = A + B/µ + Cµ. H being the plate height and µ being the particle size. The A constant remains constant independent of flow rate (known as the Eddy diffusion term ). The B constant is the diffusion coefficient, and C is the analyte mass transfer coefficient. As µ decreases, the A and C values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gumustas et al [3] reviewed that UPLC was more efficient than HPLC. In comparison to HPLC, UPLC can run higher resolution methods, using shorter columns, smaller size of particles, with higher flow rates under high pressure. The injection volume of UPLC is almost ten times smaller than that of HPLC, which results in good peak shapes and low carryover effects related to column diameter. It was also reviewed that the major disadvantages of UPLC were the high prices of purchasing and maintaining the instrument as well as the shorter column life due to the increased back pressure. However, the advantages of less solvent consumption, faster chromatography and better resolution properties overcome these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Renal Biopsy Research Paper Renal biopsy an invasive procedure in which a sample of renal tissue is obtained(1) . Microscopic examination of the biopsied tissue can provide information needed to diagnose, monitor and/or treat renal disorder. The introduction of renal biopsy in clinical practice has represented one of the most important advances in the field of clinical nephrology. Renal biopsy has contributed greatly to l classification of intrinsic renal diseases and, therefore, to a better knowledge of the pathogenesis involved. In spite of the flood of new and less invasive tests, renal biopsy is still an irreplaceable tool in assessing diagnosis and prognosis and guiding, the treatment of many renal diseases. It is being more frequently used, especially with the advancement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Urinary tract infection: Active untreated infection of the upper urinary tract is considered a contraindication to renal biopsy, in view of the potential communication between the collecting system and a possible perirenal hematoma, with consequent catastrophic infection of the hematoma. 5. High blood pressure: The risk of complications after biopsy is directly related to the degree of elevation of blood pressure. Although normalization of blood pressure with antihypertensive agents may reduce the risk of complications, nevertheless, the transaction of sclerotic vessels is more likely to produce severe hemorrhage. Uncontrolled hypertension should be considered as a high risk factor for complications. 6. Coagulation disorders: Hemorrhagic diathesis is a formal contraindication to renal biopsy. Many patients with renal dysfunction present a prolongation of the skin bleeding time associated with normal results on coagulation tests. The risk of hemorrhagic complications after biopsy is high in patients with very prolonged bleeding time. However, in many cases preoperative infusion of desmopressin (0.3 Aµmol/kg over 30 min) can achieve normal values of the bleeding time for some hours and allow renal ... • 8. The Impact Of Corporate Social Responsibility On The Food... Humans are born with the natural tendency to aid one another through mediums such as being proactive on social as well as ethical issues. When one compares this natural tendency to the industries of today, one see s this voluntary behaviour in a deliberate and compelled act by most involved, which is truly known as Corporate Social Responsibility. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is known to be the voluntary model that is not only used by many businesses, but industries themselves to self regulate their active compliance with the law, ethical standards within their respective sectors alongside achieving their economical success. CSR initiatives may contain consumer s welfare and providing them with true knowledge of products, animal welfare, employees welfare as well as reducing environmental impacts. Today, many businesses involved and those who directly fall under the food industry lack the voluntary act to carry out CSR initiatives and this can be seen through consumers behaviour and attitudes, animal welfare as well as environmental impacts. Firstly, the lack of CSR initiatives in the food industry today, can be seen through the behaviour and attitude of its consumers. Many consumers have shifted from the traditional blindfold purchasing at the supermarket to making valid and reasonable choices. For instance, a large corporation like Nestlé is currently under the heat due to its irresistible chocolate bars. This is due to the prevalence of statistics, facts as ... Most recently, controversy has surrounded multiple sports teams such as the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, and the Washington Redskins; however, some may believe the Braves and Indians name is more to honor them, instead of discriminate against them. The conflict of the Washington Redskins seems highest compared to other teams. This kind of denigration has both visible and unseen consequences for Native Americans (Keim 2). No matter how the word was used eighty years ago, it carries invidious connections today (King 5). Times have changed in the twenty first century and everybody should be respected as equals (Keim 2). Some argue that fans attach to the Redskins name and identify with the team; they internalize the rituals and traditions associated with both. People would not like having mascots like the Fighting Jewish, Blacks, Latinos, Orientals, Caucasians, etc. Making the situation even worse, this nasty label belongs to, according to Forbes magazine, the third most valuable NFL franchise. • 10. Explain the Factors Which Make It Difficult to Amend the... Q. Explain the factors which make it difficult to amend the US Constitution (15 marks) To amend the US Constitution, a bill has to go through a two stage process: proposal and ratification. The proposal stage has to have two thirds majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Every successful amendment has started this way and even the failed ones. A proposal can also be made by a Constitutional convention, which is a one off body which is put together for a specific purpose, and this is called by Congress on petition by two thirds of the states. This method has never been used. The problem with this proposal method is that the Constitution doesn t state how it should be done and there is no mechanism. There are, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, there are implications for ratification. Thirty eight states are needed for ratification. The problem with this is that there are huge variations in political culture of states the South is known to be Conservative, North East or West Coast is known to be liberal/Cosmopolitan, North is known to be urban and industrial and the Midwest is known to be rural and agricultural. Therefore, with the differences in political culture, there are demands for a nationwide consensus which can prove difficult. An example of this was the Equal Rights Act which failed to pass the ratification stage as it was 3 states shy of the 38 needed to pass the ratification stage. It was argued that there was already the 14th Amendment which states the Equal Opportunities Act. But the Equal Rights Act failed because it ran out of time there was a 7 year time limit and it took 10 years. The amendment process takes place contemporaneously, meaning it is based on issues happening at the moment. There was also an economic factor which was said to prevent this Act from passing. Big businesses would have had to pay out more to ensure both male and females received equal pay. Often these corporate companies would have connections to politicians themselves, to oppose the Act because the businesses had access to them and pressure groups did not. The pressure ... • 11. Analysis Of Never Let Me Go The Asian book Never Let Me Go written by Kazuo Ishiguro takes place in England in the 1990s. The author shows relations to this book by naming it Never Let Me Go. I say this because in the book there is a character who sings a song that is named Never Let Me Go. The main theme in this novel is find out who your true friends are and realize not every friendship is going to be perfect, you will go through struggles just like any other type of relationship. Never Let Me Go happens in a tragic form generally 1990s England, where the lives of customary nationals are drawn out through a state endorsed program of human cloning. The clones, alluded to as understudies, experience childhood in uncommon organizations far from the outside world. As youthful grown ups, they start to give their key organs. All givers get their mind from assigned carers, clones who have not yet started the gift procedure. The clones keep on donating organs until they finish, which is a code word for death after the gift of three or four organs. Be that as it may, this preface is not quickly clear to the peruser. Toward the begin of the novel, storyteller Kathy H. only presents herself as a thirty one year old carer. An Individual With Visual Impairment Today, I will attempt to understand what it is like for an individual with a visual impairment to complete a task that would be very simple for an individual with sight. This exercise is being conducted to help me gain an understanding of how an individual with visual impairment would approach this task. I will try to make myself some cereal, eat it, and clean up my mess. My son Jason will remain in the kitchen with me as a protective measure. I stand in the middle of the kitchen while the blindfold is applied to my eyes. Immediately, it is dark. My first thought is what is the easiest to get for a bowl of cereal. I decided to get a bowl from the counter. I rely on my memory to guide me to the cabinet through feeling for the counter top to the left of my position, then I reach up to grab a bowl. I feel around with my hand to make sure that I am at the top of the stack of bowls and then I grab the bowl. I feel with my right hand to make sure there is a free space for my bowl on the counter and that I am not to close to the edge. Then with my right hand, I close the cabinet. I edge myself over to the left again, following the counter top. As I reach the end, I stretch out my arm to help guide me towards the stove. The spoons are in the left lower drawer. I open the drawer and feel the different utensils. I find the small size spoon and pull it out. I then make my way back across the kitchen to place the spoon beside the bowl. • 14. Criticisms Of A Humanistic Psychodynamic Approach There can be many criticisms for humanistic therapy. This approach can be thought of as too positive at times, in regards to human behavior. With a humanistic approach individuals are assumed to be naturally good and will decide to follow the most positive way of doing things, by either making themselves and the world around them a better place (Mcleod, 2015). Choice and free will at times can be limited to some people, which then can make the application of this approach difficult. According to McLeod, Humanistic psychologists argue that objective reality is less important than a person s subjective perception and understanding of the world . (Mcleod, 2015). Some people look at this number and are appalled. But others see this and think of all the people who used abortion as a means to a second chance. Abortion has long been a controversial topic in the U.S. but lots of people are choosing sides without really knowing all the facts. Abortion can be seen from many different sides but most know these sides as pro choice or pro life. Pro choice is known for supporting women s right to choose whether they want to have the baby or not and pro life is known for supporting the life of the unborn child. The big question is who are abortions really hurting and who is pro life really helping. Let s start with Pro Life, after doing some research I have found that this seems to be a more popular decision. There are a lot of reasons floating around as to why abortion should be illegal one of the main reasons is the effect that having abortions can have on the woman who is having the abortion done. I have found that having one or many abortions can cause physical effects like cramping, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding or spotting. It can also cause more dangerous effects like heavy bleeding, fever, infection, damage to the uterus or cervix, and possible death. It can also have many emotional side effects like regret, a sense of loneliness, anxiety, or nightmares. There are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Within the governmental structure of the presidential system, the executive branch is led by the president, who is both the head of state and the government. In its existence, it is separate from legislature wherein it cannot dismiss. As it is separate from those rulings, the president does not have as much power or control creating a system of checks and balances, allowing each branch to monitor one another. It is a stable system that is kept in line as it has fixed two year terms. • 20. The United States V. Virginia Case Study When Virginia Military Institute (VMI) was founded in 1839, it was established as a male only institute. At this time and even up to the mid 1970 s, most colleges and institutes were single sexed schools. They, at that time, only wanted to teach and build young men to transform the world; not women. The state arguably stated that women would not be able to hand the level of training involved in going to VMI (Justia). However, once most other colleges and institutions opened admissions, VMI still stood their ground as a male only institution. The question they then faced was whether or not their tradition to be male only was constitutional? The case of VMI went to the district courts, and was deemed to be a tradition and that this tradition was accepted. However, the Fourth Circuit rejected the decision. They found the policy in which they made admission decisions unconstitutional. In response Virginia tried coming up with a women only institution that would equal up to VMI. They introduced Virginia Women s Institute for Leadership (VMIL) to the Fourth Circuit. In chemistry, there are eight different basic types of reactions. The eight basic reactions include: combustion, synthesis, decomposition, precipitation, single replacement, double replacement, acid/base, and redox reactions. These reactions are categorized into their reaction type by their differences and similarities. The first type of reaction is combustion. A combustion reaction is when a substance is combined with oxygen and releases heat and light energy. An example of a combustion reaction is the combustion of hydrogen. When a balloon with oxygen and hydrogen is supplied with heat by a candle, it triggers an explosive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another known name for this type of reaction is a displacement reaction. These type of solutions mostly occur in liquid solution and the amount of energy used in this type of reaction is smaller than that of a synthesis or decomposition reaction. In this type of reaction, in a compound, an element replaces a similar element. For example we have elements A, B, and X. In this equation we heave element A + compound BX. Element A will replace element B to form B + AX. (A + BX B + AX) Another reaction is a double replacement. This reaction usually produces an insoluble gas or water. Double replacement is when in two compounds, ions will exchange places in a liquid solution (aqueous solution) to form a new compound. For example A, B, X, and Y are ions in the first part of the equation, AX + BY. The ions X and Y will replace each other to form a new compound to form AY + BX. ( AX + BY AY + BY) A different type of reaction would be an acid/base reaction. This reaction is a neutralization. An acid is a substances that looses protons which are H+ ions and a base is a substance that receives protons. When equal amounts of protons are lost by an acid and the same amounts of protons are being received by a base, they neutralize each other. That creates a product that is neither acidic nor basic by the two substances (acid and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Dubliners By James Joyce s Dubliners In James Joyce s Dubliners, the reader experiences the different lives of Dublin s inhabitants. Each Dubliner has different problems, fears, hopes, and dreams, which allows culminates into many different perspectives. Joyce masterfully writes the daily lives of these people without any romanticism. The Dubliners stories are a small snippet into their full lives, while the reader does not get the full story, he does not need to. Not much may seem to happen in the stories, but profound themes and messages are hidden beneath the words. In the story An Encounter, a group of boys imagine they are in the Wild West, while staging mock battles of cowboys vs. Indians. The story includes many encounters that present themselves as ordinary; however this is far from true. In fact, the story is largely commentating on often mocking Irish religious life and escapism. In the beginning of the story one of the boys, Leo Dillon, is scolded by Father Butler for reading The Half Penny Marvel. Father Butler considers the comic as nonsense and tells Leo that his Roman History is far more cultured and important (Joyce 12). A religious figure like Father Butler is common among Joyce s works, as he has always shown contempt for religion. In a sense, Father Butler creates structure for the boys, but it is monotonous and rigid. Clearly Father Butler does not approve of Leo s fascinations for the Wild West so he condemns him. • 26. Positive Effects Of The Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was a Revolution that took place between 1750 1830. During this time there were some hardships and positive effects with a little bit of both. Throughout this Revolution there were more negative effects than positive effects. Some negative and positive Effects of this Revolution are Working Conditions and Wages, Child Labor, Changing Role of Women, Condition in the Coal Mines, Urbanization, Education, Changing Class Structure, and Industrial Production. Work back in the 1700 s and 1800 s was known to be very hard and long. Working conditions in the factories were very hard because they had to work 12 16 hours, 6 days a week of nothing but straight work in the blazing heat. If you were late to work your wage would decrease even more. They didn t get frequent breaks, they had to find a time to eat while they were working. There were some days they wouldn t eat or drink anything all day because they had to constantly be working. Working in a factory was not flexible with schedules, so most of the time if you had to do something you were not able to do it. Accidents in the factory were very common because the machines they used were not very safe. Most workers in this factory got black lung disease from the black coal mine. If you got sick or injured working in the factory you would lose your job. Therefore you would have to find something else to do but there was not very many options to choose from. Most likely you would end up not having a job and not be able to provide for your family. Children back then were very weak and did not have a good life experience. The poor families were not able to afford enough food to keep their children healthy which caused them to have weaker bodies and were more likely to get sick. They could get sick as easy as just breathing in dusty air or they could even become deformed from accidents with machines. Both boys and girls were hired to work in the factories. These children s parents accepted the fact they worked in factories because they worked on farms and they needed the money. Not only were boys and girls hired but sometimes orphans were and they were often beaten. Sometimes children preferred to adults because they were so small they could ... Although globalization is often thought of in economic terms (i.e., the global marketplace ), this process has many social and political implications as well . Personality As An Understanding Of Personality As an understanding of personality, it is said that the essential paradigms of a personality are defined by individual s characteristics and behaviour. However over a period of time an individual s personality can change due to genetics and the altering nature of the environment they are placed within. Personality is in reference to individuals variances in their patterns of feeling, thinking and behaving (Encyclopedia of Psychology: 8 Volume Set, 2000). This essay will be focusing on the basic dimensions of a personality and also the factors influencing personality change. This then will be contrasted against a study that develops that personality does not change over time. Personality not only changes over time and experience but also manipulates as the individual goes through varying facades within their life. Several personality psychologists believe that personality is defined by five dimensions as suggested by McCrae and Costa (The Big Five dimensions of personality?, V.Egan, 1988). This was found by testing the conduct group by allowing them to choose a solution to a question that the teste believed was most suitable and thus showed that the test groups had presented 5 dominant characteristics, extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness (The Big Five dimensions of personality?, V.Egan, 1988). I was starting to realize this class and Mr. Horbacz were all about fine tuning me for my big transition into college. The next thing I did was learn how to organize my thoughts onto paper and write an essay. I knew how to write a basic five paragraph essay, but my skills were limited. These are all things I struggled with at the beginning of the year, but soon I started to grow in each area. After the first couple of months, improvements in my school work were beginning to show, and I liked it. My vocabulary abilities were revealing themselves as well. For example, when I would read homework in other classes the words that would sometimes confuse me began to make sense. I would also listen to other people s conversations on the street and it seemed as if the vocabulary words that I had just studied the week before, could be heard. It was the weirdest thing. Likewise, my grammar was developing nicely. For instance, when I would read books I could see the different ways sentences were portrayed. Things that I never picked up before were coming to me so much easier. This class that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. The, And Administrative Decrees Documented During The... After Alexander the Great conquest of Egypt in 332 BC, Egypt was ruled for the following three centuries by the foreign Greek dynasty of the Ptolemies. Although Egypt was subjugated by Alexander in 332 BC it wasn t actually until 305 BC that the Ptolemaic dynasty was officially established. Ptolemaic Egypt would have been considered one of the two greatest powers in the Hellenic East. However, there is evidence that shows that the first troubles that Ptolemaic Egypt had to face actually originated from Egypt itself. These troubles were formed largely due to the ethnic tension that had formed with the native Egyptians and the immigrated Greeks. There was a third community of people present in Ptolemaic Egypt at this time, these people being that of the Jewish faith (find better way to introduce this shit). It is the hope of this essay to prove through analyse of literary texts, papyri, and administrative decrees documented during the reign of the Ptolemaic dynasty that the tension between these two groups was extremely strong. This can be attributed to a fusion of the Greeks disdain for the native Egyptians and the Egyptians resentment of the Greeks due to the ill treatment they receive from them. Even from the very first migration of Greeks in Egypt, Ptolemaic Egypt was a bureaucracy were in which your social standing was determined by your race, and the prevailing ethnicity was that of the Greeks.
