Humanity s False Exploration Of Mars
Humanity shouldn t pursue exploration of Mars because we have more pressing issues like conflicts
over the world (WW3). Money can be spent on other programs and or research that can be useful
today instead of exploring Mars. Also, if they did explore Mars the exploration could bring back a
deadly disease that no one can cure. Mars exploration could be disastrous, one scenario that can occur
is if the exploration brings back a deadly disease or diseases that no one can cure and can kill all of
mankind. Natives died from diseases that were brought from the Europeans and many Europeans died
from diseases from the Natives. Disease that we give to the life on Mars that kills all life on Mars or a
disease from Mars bought to Earth that kills all

Punishment In Prisons
After four weeks of learning about punishment and the penal system I feel like I have learnt a lot
about the system as a whole. As I previously mentioned before enrolling in this unit I was naïve about
the system, how it operated, the living conditions of the inmates and the social demographics that
contributed to the prison population. With all of my recent knowledge from the lectures and readings,
I was still surprised to find out how much it cost to maintain a person in prison. I was always aware
that a proportion of the taxpayers money was spent on prisons but I was unaware of how substantial
that amount was. In the 2013 2014 period, 2.6 billion dollars was spent on the prison system in
Australia, this roughly equates to $292 dollars per day per prisoner and these numbers are expected to
increase. I am currently working as a causal and make around $250 per week while the typical
working Australian on average ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reflecting on these numbers it is hard for me to fathom how expensive it is to sustain a person in
prison. With the costs expected to increase, it is becoming more apparent that such high expenses are
putting financial pressures on the state government and are reducing the pool of funding and resources
that are needed for education and health.
After learning about the concept of less eligibility and the importance of treating inmates in
accordance with basic human rights, I do not think that the funding from these facilitates should be
reduced. However, I do agree with any scholars in this area who express the opinion that it would be
more cost effective for funding to be spent on the early detection of delinquent behaviour than on
prisons. If more funding was being spent on early prevention schemes it would be more beneficial to
the individual and community as a whole rather than spending that

The antifungal activity of pawpaw seed extract on A. flavus was obvious at concentrations (100 and
200) mg/ml in which
M/C ratio for A. flavus decreased at high concentration of C. papaya seed extract compared with low
concentration of pawpaw seed extract which give high M/C ratio and these lead us to confirm the
antifungal potency of C. papaya seed extract against A. flavus.

Examples Of Psychoanalysis In To Kill A Mockingbird
Psychoanalytic Theory of To Kill a Mockingbird The psychoanalytic theory was devised by a
psychologist named Sigmund Freud in 1885. He explains that the human mind and body is essentially
driven by sex. It controls how one develops and how one functions on a day to day basis. Through
their development and growth a child will go through three stages of sexual development: oral, anal,
and genital. How they go through these stages or problems that occur during their advancement can
cause complications or flaws that become prominent later on in their life. Another aspect of his theory
is the id, ego and the superego. The id is the selfless part of your brain, it sees the world and all beings
as equal. The opposite is the ego, that part of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be attributed to his need to prove himself in every way and the fact that he cannot take
anything lightly because his ego is do delicate he believes if anybody is remotely rude to him he must
prove his dominance. An example of this in the story To Kill a Mockingbird is the day he finally snaps
at Mrs. Dubose. She is an old woman who sits on her porch knitting everyday shouting incredibly rude
remarks at the kids who walk by. One day Jem and Scout are walking home coming from town where
they had just bought a few things for themselves when she does it again. Jem is unable to control
himself, giving into his id, and destroys all the plans and landscape she has in her front yard. Jem does
not feel good about himself as a person, as a result from the lack of attention from parental figures,
and is unable to see that Mrs. Dubose is simply a cross old woman who does not have anything better
to do with her life at her old age. He takes her words very personally and must show that he has the
power. This situation also relates to the battle between the id and superego. Jem knew subconsciously
that destroying her yard was not the right thing to do however his selfish thoughts wanted nothing
more than to retaliate. His ego ended up agreeing with his id and he acted

Introduction The purpose of this lab was to explore the characteristics of hydrates. Hydrates are solid
ionic compounds that contain water that is chemically bound to the crystal. In doing this lab, the
percentage of water contained in various hydrates, if dehydration is a reversible or irreversible change,
and the mathematical relationship between starting mass and mass lost. As there is no simple way to
predict the amount of water molecules in a hydrated compound, it must be determined by
experimenting. This experiment involves heating said hydrates so the water molecules evaporated
from the solid compound. In the different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Literature Review On Sparse Group Lasso
b. Sparse Group Lasso
The sparse group lasso is also known as a special case of group lasso that place an additional penalty 1
norm of the coefficient vector. The sparse group lasso allows the overlaps in the groups. The sparse set
of group is generated by group lasso. The models in the group if included then all the variables in the
group become non zero. Sometimes we like to have both the sparsity of group and within each group,
i.e. between and within the group. Such as example, in genes expression we like to identify particular
useful genes among the number of genes, this is the focus of sparse group lasso. The sparsity in sparse
group lasso is exists in two types, first is group wise sparsity and the other is within group sparsity.

The sparse group lasso can allow using the group information but cannot force to use entire group.
The sparse group lasso can solve the problem with un penalized covariates.
V. CONCLUSION. Feature selection is a step that finds the subset from the original feature set to
some criteria of instance importance. In this paper the concept of group feature selection is review that
specifies different approaches in this ground. This literature review examines the recent work of
feature selection where feature posses certain group structure. The methods found for group feature
selection have discussed here. The general approaches of group feature selection such as group lasso
and sparse group lasso are described. The group lasso is an extension of Standard lasso which tend to
perform group selection, if the group of features is selected then all the features in the groups are
selected. Sparse group lasso takes the advantage of group lasso and produces an efficient solution with
simultaneous between and within group. The group feature selection tries to minimize the redundant
and irrelevant features from the group to decreases the computational time. The above dimensional
categorization of group feature selection algorithm give a view of future challenges and research

Much Ado About Nothing and Good Will Hunting
Self discovery relies on the learning from others.Self discovery is defined as The act or process of
achieving understanding or knowledge of oneself. We all interact with many people who play an
influential role in our lives. These people could challenge, criticize, motivate, inspire, or judge us.
Through this, we may develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and our abilities. By reflecting
upon difficult or unhappy interactions with another person, we might even be able to see these
interactions with new eyes. The idea of counterfeiting, in the sense of presenting a false face to the
world, appears frequently throughout Shakespeare s much ado about nothing. A particularly rich and
complex example of counterfeiting occurs as Leonato, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

both get soliloquies during the play after being tricked into thinking that one loves the other. Both
soliloquies contain the personal growth that they have just encountered through the help of the other
people around them. Benedick speaks of Beatrice as fair , virtuous , and wise , which confirms that he
has always been in love with her, but had never wanted to admit it to himself. Beatrice has come into
realisation of how she was and what she is becoming by discovering her love for benedick. Taming

The Environment Protection Agency s New Clean Power Plan
Introduction
Consol Energy is heavily involved in two major industries: coal and natural gas. This is an interesting
situation given that the two industries directly compete against one another. As a result, Consol is
diversified and strategically projected against the risk of downturn in either profit stream.
Coal Industry
The coal industry has a gloomy economic forecast going forward. The U.S. Environment Protection
Agency s new Clean Power Plan (a part of the Clean Air Act) causes much uncertainty for
corporations like Consol. It was proposed by the EPA in June of 2014. The goal of the Clean Power
Plan is to decrease CO2 emissions by 30 percent in the year 2030 from 2005 levels. Already, it has had
an impact on the internal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prices for coal are currently down. This drop has coincided with the drop in oil prices. Originally, it
was expected that these two prices would be tied together, and that the drop would be quite temporary.
However, the longer that coal has been down, the more likely it looks like it is down for the count so
to speak. Many analysts believe that there has been an over production of coal in the past decade and
the market has been saturated as a result. With every passing month that coal s prices stay low, and the
supplies keep growing, it becomes less likely that things will turn around for the better in a permanent
manner. Even with the rest of the world playing catchup with the transition to zero carbon intensive
energy sources, the U.S. coal exports have been extremely low. China, for instance, has imported less
in recent years. At one point, they were helping to drive our export market. In response to the lower
demand, many mining corporations have begun to optimize their operations. This has been done by
focusing on lower mining production costs, cheaper transportation costs, and favorable exchange
rates. The goal is to keep operations from further declining profit wise as the U.S. Energy Information
Administration expects a 7% decrease in total coal consumption for the year 2015. This decline in coal
consumption will likely cause a decline in coal production, causing a decline in jobs for states such as
Wyoming, West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, and

How To Write An Informative Speech On Barbie

III. Controversies A. Barbie s popularity ensures that her effect on the play of children attracts a high
degree of scrutiny. The criticisms leveled at her are often based on the assumption that children
consider Barbie a role model and will attempt to emulate her. 1. One of the most common criticisms of
Barbie is that she promotes an unrealistic idea of body image for a young woman, leading to a risk
that girls who attempt to emulate her will become anorexic. A standard Barbie doll is 11.5 inches tall,
giving a height of 5 feet 9 inches at 1/6 scale. Barbie s vital statistics have been estimated at 36 inches
(chest), 18 inches (waist) and 33 inches (hips). According to research by the University Central
Hospital in Helsinki, Finland, she would lack the 17 to 22 percent body fat required for a woman to
menstruate. In 1965 Slumber Party Barbie came with a book entitled How to Lose Weight which
advised: Don t eat. The doll also came with pink bathroom scales reading 110 lbs., which would be
around 35 lbs. underweight for a woman 5 feet 9 inches tall. In 1997 Barbie s body mold was
redesigned and given a wider waist, with Mattel saying that this would make the doll better suited to
contemporary fashion designs. 2. In March 2000 stories appeared in the media claiming that the hard

Similarities Between Jefferson Memorial And Pantheon
There are many similarities and differences between the Roman architecture and the Renaissance
architecture. The similarities between the Pantheon and St Peters Basilica are that they contain a
circular domed rotunda. They both contain Corinthian columns with a triangular pediment above.
They also both have a portico. Inside, both the building has several niches 9 . Both building have a
symmetrical layout. There have many architectural features that are very similar as Michelangelo, one
of the architects of St. Peters Basilica, studied the Pantheon before making designs 6 ; he based the St
Peters Basilica dome from the Pantheons dome. Both building reflected their societies wealth and

The similarities in the architectural features are that they both have a spherical dome. They both have
steps leading up to the portico. Both buildings also have a pediment held up by the columns. Both the
structures are symmetrical and have 8 columns at the front. They have many similarities as the
Pantheon influenced Thomas Jefferson to make a similar structure, and because of the common dome
both the structures symbolized unity, and power. The difference is that the columns of the Pantheon
were Corinthian style columns in contrast to the Ionic style columns of the Jefferson Memorial. The
cella of the Jefferson memorial is open with columns as walls all around the rotunda. They were also
used for different purposes, the Pantheon is a temple and the Jefferson Memorial is a memorial.
However, just like how the dome represented the unity and symmetry of the Roman Empire, it also
symbolizes the democracy that has grown in America through unity.
There are many various features of Roman architecture that are evident in the Virginia State Capitol
Building and the Jefferson Memorial. Thomas Jefferson was influenced by both the Pantheon and
Maison Carree. Features like the symmetrical proportions of the buildings like the dome showed
continuity, this reflected on the glory of your society and the achievements they have accomplished, as
the imperial Rome was very successful. Most of the Roman structures also symbolized power as the
Roman valued this very much. America also values power so they may have been influenced by the

Literature Review On Stroke
CHAPTER 1: LITERATURE REVIEW
1.1. Stroke:
Stroke is a common, serious and global health care problem; it s the third most common cause of
death and first cause of adult disability (12). The rehabilitation is the major part of his care (13).
Stroke is a neurological deficit caused by an acute focal injury of the central nervous system (CNS) by
a vascular cause: a cerebral infarction appears with overt symptoms or intracerebral hemorrhage with
no symptoms (10%) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (5%) (14).
The motor impairment that can be regarded as a loss or limitation of function in movement or

largely incurable; chronic pain of central origin (such as phantom pain) and hemiparesis following a

ability of movement of patients in terms of range of motion, speed and precision, especially for
patients with severe hemiparesis (24, 25).

Massive Anti-Islam Sentiment in the United States Essay
Islam is a monotheistic religion, centered around the teachings of the Qu ran and serving Allah
(meaning God in Arabic). However, this Abrahamic religion has been harshly discriminated against in
the United States for years. Most prominently throughout the last twelve years, post September 11th,
2001. Unfortunately, issues such as socialization through the media, power distribution, religious
ignorance, stereotyping and visible differences have contributed to the ill attitudes towards Muslims.

Muslim extremists unfortunately completely changed the way Muslims are treated, especially in the
United States. These events, exacerbated islamophobia. Unfortunately, the terrorist attacks of
September 11, 2001, connect Muslims and Islam to terrorism within the geographical borders of the
United States. (Byng) Although it has been over a decade since the attack, many still feel racist and
discriminatory attitudes towards Muslims. Muslims are the targeted minority in the United States, the
9/11 terrorist attacks shifted the social and political context for Muslims in the United States.
Terrorism within the geographical borders of the United States carried out by Muslims places an
identity at the center of national and global politics. (Byng) The blame of the horrible terrorist attacks,
rather than be placed on terrorists or religious extremist, has been placed on Islam in America. After
September 11th, hate crimes towards Muslims skyrocketed, the most dramatic change noted by the
report was a more than 1,600 percent increase in reported hate crimes against Muslims a jump from 28

Fort Lauderdale s Plastic And Reconstructive Surgeon
Fort Lauderdale s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. John Michael Thomassen can use chin
implants to increase the size of the chin or he can reduce the size and/or projection of a patient s chin
with a chin reduction surgery. With both of these procedures, Dr. Thomassen provides his patients
with a natural looking chin that is more proportionate to his or her other facial features.
The Chin Plays an Important Role in the Proportions of the Face
The chin greatly affects the overall appearance of the face; furthermore, the chin also plays an
important role in the way the patient s facial profile looks. For example, a chin that is proportionately
too small for the other features of the face can cause the size of the nose and forehead to be
exaggerated. Dr. John Michael Thomassen offers chin augmentation procedures with and without chin
implants to the men and women of Fort Lauderdale, and its surrounding communities.
Chin Implants Are Used in Fort Lauderdale to Address a Weak Chin
Dr. Thomassen frequently performs chin augmentation procedures using chin implants to correct a
chin that is lacking adequate projection. This chin characteristic is referred to as a weak chin. When a
patient has a weak chin, his or her nose and forehead appear larger than they truly are.
Chin Implant Surgery Can Be Combined with Other Plastic Surgery Procedures
Just as with nose reshaping surgery, a chin augmentation procedure with a chin implant can make

Negative Effects Of Andrew Jackson
Throughout the history of the United Sates, presidential actions have impacted the nation in varying
degrees. One such example includes the 7th president, Andrew Jackson. With his victory in the
Election of 1828, Jackson s presidency brought about both positive and negative effects that affected
various groups in distinct ways. Therefore, several perceived him as a national hero, while others saw
him as a villain, and a few were ambivalent about what to think of him. Finally, the effects that
resulted from his actions have marked American history politically, socially and economically.
Jackson s Presidency has had a positive effect on American society. For instance, one of his
accomplishments included the expansion of rights for the common men. As seen in Document One,
Thousands and thousandths of people, without distinction or rank, collected in an immense mass
round the Capital... This shows how for the first time, the common men was allowed to the presidents
inaugural address, which was a big political step for them as they previously didn t had this privilege.
Moreover, another action taken by the president, which was regarded as an act of heroism by the poor
individuals, was Jackson s decision to veto the national bank. Jackson believed that the bank provided
an exclusive privilege of banking and concentration in the hands of a few men (the rich), and was
leaving the poor in oblivion. For example, Document Two states But when the laws undertake to...

The Twisted Darkness Analysis
The Twisted Darkness
Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote and published many novels and short stories throughout his career,
including several published anonymously. More often readers find a his work to be different types of
romance followed and surrounded with twists of darkness. Based on Hawthorne s biography you can
find most of his characters and the darkness in his stories, come from personal experience. The mix of
success and failure during Hawthorne s writing career resembles parts in his story The Devil in
Manuscript leading to an unfathomable twist for his readers. Born in Salem Massachusetts in 1804,
Nathaniel Hawthorne was born into a prominent family. His ancestors were some of the earliest to
settle in the country; including Nathaniel s late relative John Hathorne who stood as a judge during the
Salem witch trials. The passing of his father to yellow fever, Nathaniel at age four was raised by his
widowed mother in mournful seclusion (Marks 1). Shortly after the death of his father, his mother
moved the family to Maine in 1815 where poetry and romance peaked Hawthorne s interest (Marks 1).
Graduating Bowdoin College at the age of twenty five, Hawthorne returned to Salem where he began
his writing allegorical stories concerning the moral values of New England (Marks 1). Nonetheless at
just twenty eight years of age, Hawthorne anonymously published his first novel Fanshawe covering
his time spent in college. Disgusted after the novel went virtually unnoticed, his

Marketing Director For Bright House Networks
Colleen Dillaway is a Sales and Marketing director for Bright House Networks. She has over 15 years
of experience managing, public relations, and sales channels. She has crisis management skills and
media relations. She has a history working with ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX news. Dillaway showed
the class commercials for Bright House and explained the approaches that were taken to reach
different customers. I will apply the concepts Dillaway used and apply them to our textbook. In
chapter 13 Public Relations and Marketing is the main focus. Marketing is the process of researching,
creating, refining, and promoting a product or service and distributing that product or service to
targeted consumers (pg. 402 3). Public relations are the values driven management of relationships
between an organization and the publics that can affect its success (pg.403). Dillaway had to collect
research to better understand how to gain and keep customers. In the process of her research she was
also able to better advertise Bright House services as well. For example, Dillaway informed the class
how Bright House created a commercial to aim directly at Bakersfield customers in doing this the
commercial was filmed here. Chapter 13 also defines advertising as controlled media in an attempt to
influence the actions of targeted publics. Going back to the Bakersfield commercial, we can see the
that the targeted publics was Bakersfield consumers. Miranda Whitworth is the Marketing Manager

Taking a Look at Darwin College
Founded 1964 by Gonville and Caius College, St John s College and Trinity College. Named after the
Darwin Family. Sister College Wolfson College Oxford. Men and Women Postgraduate only 594.
Darwin is a relatively modern college that was surprisingly able to secure itself a beautiful spot on the
Cam next to the Mill Pond. The river throws a loop that meanders through the grounds forming two
small islands that can be booked for social functions by members in the warmer weather. For a small
fee, students can join the Darwin punt club gaining access to the college s five punts and several
kayaks throughout the year. This compact site is an attractive 5 minute, meadow walk, from the city
centre. It was the first in the university to exclusively accept postgraduate students only, and was
established in 1964 by three of the ancient colleges, Trinity, St John s and Gonville and Caius. It was
named after the Darwin family, who previously owned the original property. Adjoining buildings and
additional nearby hostels were added, as and when the opportunities presented themselves. The Rayne
Foundation, along with the founding trio, funded conversions, extensions and general work to turn the
site into a fully functioning college. The result is not a series of courtyards but a delightful long
triangular strip containing a random and eclectic style of architecture, transformed into a magical
space by the river. No restriction on subjects of study The college was also among the

Single Sex Instruction Is An Old Approach That Is...
Single sex instruction is an old approach that is increasing new force. While single sex instruction has
since a long time ago existed in numerous non public schools, it s a moderately new choice for state
funded schools. The National Association for Single Sex Public Education gauges that around 400
government funded schools now offer some type of single sex training. What is filling this
development? What s more, what are the dangers and advantages of single sex training?
A main impetus in the single sex training development is late research demonstrating regular contrasts

Some guardians don t need their kids to be in blended sexual orientation classrooms in light of the fact
that, particularly at specific ages, understudies of the inverse sex can be a diversion.
Leonard Sax and others concur that simply setting young men in isolated classrooms from young
ladies achieves little. Be that as it may, single sex training upgrades understudy achievement when
educators use procedures intended for the sex of their understudies.
Some examination demonstrates that young ladies learn better when classroom temperature is warm,
while young men perform better in cooler classrooms. On the off chance that that is valid, then the
temperature in a solitary sex classroom could be set to streamline the learning of either male or female
understudies.
Some exploration and reports from teachers propose that solitary sex training can widen the
instructive prospects for both young ladies and young men. Advocates claim co ed schools have a

The Chinese Fireworks Industry revised
Date
October 8th 2012
1. Issue identification:
Jerry Yu is considering whether to invest in Liuyang fireworks factory, so he made an evaluation of
the Chinese firework industry. Here is a brief identification of the issue:
1.1 History of fireworks:
There is an old line of the Chinese fireworks, which is tightly combined with varieties of celebrations
and festivals in China. Especially, Liuyang is known as the home of fireworks and firecrackers and
good at making varieties of fireworks. And fireworks and firecrackers has become the pillar industry
of Liuyang.

Department of Transportation. The fireworks are all of high quality, so no special storage was
required.
Also, in the most Europe, similar regulations were in place for safety considerations, only the
requirements were regarded as less stringent. In Canada, regulations were extremely restrictive.
However, over the past decade Chinese fireworks companies had made great strides in the Canadian
market.
As to the domestic market, during the 1990s, increased concerns over environmental pollution and
safety of human life and property led more and more cities to regulate he consumption of fireworks
and firecrackers. However, all this began to change in the mid 2000s. Beijing lifted a 12 year ban on
fireworks in 2005 and other cities followed suit. Over the next ten years, many legal restrictions were
lifted.
Offensive strategy to increase the sales of fireworks:
Speaking of Liuyang, in 1997, seeing the decline of its fireworks sales, Liuyang Firecrackers and
Fireworks Industry Department, the government agency in charge of the overall development of the
pillar industry, decided to start an offensive strategy. First, it opened local offices in most of the 29
provinces, major cities and regions to promote Liuyang fireworks. Second, it regulated the prices that
Liuyang fireworks companies could quote and sell in export sales. Third, it resorted to a government
to government relationship in order to secure contracts for large public fireworks displays

This means that unlike other methods of damping, such as constrained layer damping, the dynamic
response and material properties are unaffected by its addition into the system. Furthermore, many
applications require a damping system that will not degrade in performance over time. This is not the
case for other viscous dampers; for instance, many dampers require a viscous liquid which may leak
over time. These two points are just a few of the many advantages offered by eddy current damping
systems. The most widely researched and well developed area of eddy current damping systems falls
in the category of magnetic braking. While the research in this area will be thoroughly discussed, the
literature is very dense and every paper cannot be reviewed. The work in magnetic braking will be
presented first, followed by studies into eddy current damping of rotating machinery, and finally a
wide range of research using eddy currents for dynamic systems will be presented. The concept of
using eddy currents for damping purposes has been known for a considerable time, with manuscripts
dating to the late 1800s. Therefore, the history of the eddy current damper will not be presented and
only work from the past few decades will be revilements are generated in the conductor. Cadwell,

How A Home Is A Life Changing Decision
How to Buy a Home Deciding to buy a home can be a life changing decision and one of the most
important a person can make in their lifetime. It shows a person s responsibility and commitment.
Buying a home can be an easy process if you know what you are looking for and you take the
appropriate steps. Before anything is done, people must understand that it s an important and long
term process. Follow these steps so that you can be aware of what to expect when you decide to buy a
home. First, make sure you have money saved up before you start looking to buy! Once you re ready
to start the process, decide which area you want to live in and what style of house you desire. Do you
prefer the country or city? Do you want acres of land? If you have children, you might want to
consider school districts as well when planning on where you want to live. You will find, the more
houses you look at, that what you thought you wanted, you can live without. Some people may not
know what their looking for just yet, and that s okay too. Secondly, contact a mortgage broker and get
prequalified for a loan to see how much you can afford to spend on a home and which type of loan is
the best for you. There are a couple of different loans out there that you may or may not be eligible for
based on your income and credit score. After the broker has pre qualified you for a certain loan
amount, then you must decide if you are comfortable spending that amount on a home. You can
always spend less than

An 11th Century Masterpiece Of The Middle Ages
An 11Th Century Masterpiece
What defines a masterpiece? A masterpiece can be defined as an enduring piece of work that has been
widely accepted, as both exceptional and groundbreaking, in a way that greatly influences society.
Masterpieces come in many varieties and forms such as art pieces, music, and architecture. One of the
greatest masterpieces of the Middle Ages, and one that is still standing today, is the Ely Cathedral. Ely
Cathedral s construction began in 1082 and took about three hundred years to be completed (Clark,
William W.). During this time, cathedrals arose out of towns and cities, which were the natural centers
of Christianity. The Middle Ages was a period of great volatility: a time of invasions, conquering of
lands, battles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ruling class of the day, consisting of kings, queens and their courts, was deeply intertwined with
the Catholic Church. Etheldreda, queen of East Angles who later became a nun, founded a monastery
in 673 on the grounds that would later become Ely Cathedral. Upon her death and elevation to
sainthood she was enshrined where Ely Cathedral would later rise from the place of the former
monastery at the decree of the Bishop of Bangor. The bishops of the Middle Ages held high social
status and had great influence because of the high roles they held in the state. They were thus able to
spend much of the church s wealth in and around the region of Ely on the creation and construction of
Ely Cathedral (Burton, Edwin). This spending greatly led to the birth of Ely Cathedral as a social
priority. This priority took the form of a broadening of the social structure that included new trades
such as stone cutting, masonry and other forms of skilled labor that led to artistic endeavors such as
sculpting and painting all directly impacted by cathedral building ( Cathedral Building in the Middle
Ages ). Held in very high spiritual and social regard, the cathedrals throughout Europe, including Ely,
commanded a kind of reverence that lasted for hundreds of years much as the Catholic Church had
before the church gradually began to lose hold of its dominance as the Renaissance began to flourish.
Once the Renaissance took hold many cathedrals, including Ely, were diminished in influence and
even damaged or destroyed. Ely, however, withstood time ( The Cathedrals of

The State And State Sovereignty
Introduction This paper discusses the crucial issue of electoral systems and their peculiar utility to the
effective representation in the national legislature (and even the executive) of the diverse interests
within the state. This discussion is in no way novel as it has been one of the most age old and
fundamental questions in the study of politics. Controversially, it can be said that before the question
of how the state and state sovereignty (popularly led by John Locke and Thomas Hobbes) gained
traction, the question of who must govern the state and how that governor must be chosen had already
enjoyed some dissection. Plato s classical concept of the Philosopher King for instance, buttresses the
latter assertion. To Plato, the reins of supreme power in the state had to be given to an authority that
wielded an appreciable grasp of philosophy. To him, if a state wanted to choose a leader that could
best ensure the wellbeing of all, that person must be a philosopher as the philosopher would know the
interests of the people and pursue it accordingly. Plato also suggested that the Philosopher King had to
surround himself with wise men for the purposes of seeking counsel. Aristotle criticized Plato s theory
and doubted that it was viable for one man to know of the interests of all and also to be entrusted with
so much power but would not abuse it. This conversation that began thousands of years ago has
recorded succinct inputs from many other thinkers and scholars. In

Currency Act Of 1764 Essay
The central pillar of the British economy during its colonial period was its extensive trading power.
Any threat to this power would have to be remedied sooner than later. For this exact reason the
Currency Act of 1764 was birthed. In spirit the Currency Act of 1764 was intended for the betterment
of British commerce. However, in actuality the Currency Act of 1764 had a negative impact on the
lives of British colonial residents. To understand the reason, and perhaps necessity, for the conception
of the Currency act of 1764, one must have a grasp of the economic situation in the American colonies
prior to 1764. The currency used in the American colonies has always revolved around, specie or the
two types of paper currency, legislatively issued legal tender or land bank notes (Finkelstein 39).
Foreign specie was far more common than British specie, due to an export prohibition of British
specie and an unfavorable balance of trade between the American colonies and Britain that drained
whatever British specie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The economic situation in Virginia was turbulent even prior to the Seven Year war. In 1754, Virginia s
colonial treasury began to default on it debts. With the onset of the Seven Year War, Virginia began to

60,000 sterling dollars for that period, Virginia s total outstanding debt was 230,000 sterling dollars by
1764. In 1759 the economic situation worsened for Virginia when tobacco prices fell, damaging the
local economy. All these factors combined with the complaints of British merchants to the Board of
Trade and Britain s desire to secure British merchant s financial investments in the American colonies
led to the Passage of the Currency Act of1764 (Ernst 33 37

Causes Of Operation Rolling Thunder
March 2nd, 1965 November 1st, 1968, was the time that an aerial bombardment was unleashed upon
North Vietnam. The American bombing campaign was code named, Operation Rolling Thunder.
During this time over 7 million tons of bombs were dropped in Vietnam. These air strikes that lasted
for little over 3 years has caused over 90,000 casualties with at least 72,000 being civilians of
Vietnam. And due to operational circumstances, over 900 U.S aircrafts were lost and 745 crewmen
were shot down.
There was a huge cost following Operation Rolling Thunder , with an estimated $300 million of
physical damage dealt in Vietnam. The cost to the U.S estimating at $900 million. Originally the cost
shouldn t have been that high, because the attacks were supposed to last only 8 weeks, but ended up
lasting 3 years. The main objective of Operation Rolling Thunder , was to demoralize the North
Vietnam people and to undermine the capacity of the government. Although the cost was effective, the
attacks weren t, as the Vietnamese came up with an effective defense for the bombing raids, with
assistance from China and The Soviet Union. By using surface to air missiles and radar controlled anti
aircraft artillery, the Vietnamese were able to shoot down American planes over the course of the
bombing campaigns. Thus, leading to a stalemate, where Vietnam was damaged, but so was the U.S.
The Operation Rolling Thunder campaign expanded little by little in range and extremity. In the
beginning,

Defence lawyers say Mark Fuhrman was the chief conspirator and depict him as a racist with a motive
to put a bloody glove on O.J. s property. Fuhrman testified under oath that he did not use any racial
slurs in the past ten years but tapes, clearly depicting Fuhrman s racial slurs, prove otherwise. The
defence s theory that he planted the glove is unsupported by any evidence. Detective Philip Vannatter
testified that he didn t consider O.J. a suspect when police entered his estate without a warrant.
Defence called upon Craig and Larry Fiato s testimony to try and prove that Vannatter was one of
many investigators who assumed Simpson was the killer and later lied to cover up their motives for a
warrantless search of O.J. s property. The defence suggested that Vannatter carried a vial of O.J. s
blood and used it to stain pieces of evidence. The defence suggested that the police pulled a pair of
socks out of O.J. s hamper, sprinkled them with blood and then placed them at the foot of his bed. The
prosecution has set out a very specific timeline. They say Simpson could have committed the murders,
rushed back to his place, slipped inside and got ready to meet a limousine that was waiting to take him
to the airport all within this timeline. The defence says this makes no sense. The defence has a series
of witnesses who were near the condominium at the hour in question and saw

Money can be spent on other programs and or research that can be useful today instead of exploring Mars. • 3. Punishment In Prisons After four weeks of learning about punishment and the penal system I feel like I have learnt a lot about the system as a whole. As I previously mentioned before enrolling in this unit I was naïve about the system, how it operated, the living conditions of the inmates and the social demographics that contributed to the prison population. With all of my recent knowledge from the lectures and readings, I was still surprised to find out how much it cost to maintain a person in prison. I was always aware that a proportion of the taxpayers money was spent on prisons but I was unaware of how substantial that amount was. In the 2013 2014 period, 2.6 billion dollars was spent on the prison system in Australia, this roughly equates to $292 dollars per day per prisoner and these numbers are expected to increase. I am currently working as a causal and make around $250 per week while the typical working Australian on average ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reflecting on these numbers it is hard for me to fathom how expensive it is to sustain a person in prison. With the costs expected to increase, it is becoming more apparent that such high expenses are putting financial pressures on the state government and are reducing the pool of funding and resources that are needed for education and health. After learning about the concept of less eligibility and the importance of treating inmates in accordance with basic human rights, I do not think that the funding from these facilitates should be reduced. However, I do agree with any scholars in this area who express the opinion that it would be more cost effective for funding to be spent on the early detection of delinquent behaviour than on prisons. If more funding was being spent on early prevention schemes it would be more beneficial to the individual and community as a whole rather than spending that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Antixoidant protect cells from toxins by moving up oxygen radicals produced from oxidative stress (Cantuti Castelvertric et al., 2000). Natural nutritional supplements from plant sources origin such as seed extract of Carcia papaya exhibits promising pharmacological properties which lead to good recovery from respiratory diseases. The antifungal activity of pawpaw seed extract on A. flavus was obvious at concentrations (100 and 200) mg/ml in which M/C ratio for A. flavus decreased at high concentration of C. papaya seed extract compared with low concentration of pawpaw seed extract which give high M/C ratio and these lead us to confirm the antifungal potency of C. papaya seed extract against A. flavus. Through their development and growth a child will go through three stages of sexual development: oral, anal, and genital. How they go through these stages or problems that occur during their advancement can cause complications or flaws that become prominent later on in their life. He takes her words very personally and must show that he has the power. This situation also relates to the battle between the id and superego. Sparse Group Lasso The sparse group lasso is also known as a special case of group lasso that place an additional penalty 1 norm of the coefficient vector. The sparse group lasso allows the overlaps in the groups. The sparse set of group is generated by group lasso. The models in the group if included then all the variables in the group become non zero. Sometimes we like to have both the sparsity of group and within each group, i.e. between and within the group. Such as example, in genes expression we like to identify particular useful genes among the number of genes, this is the focus of sparse group lasso. The sparsity in sparse group lasso is exists in two types, first is group wise sparsity and the other is within group sparsity. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Feature selection is a step that finds the subset from the original feature set to some criteria of instance importance. In this paper the concept of group feature selection is review that specifies different approaches in this ground. This literature review examines the recent work of feature selection where feature posses certain group structure. The methods found for group feature selection have discussed here. The general approaches of group feature selection such as group lasso and sparse group lasso are described. The group lasso is an extension of Standard lasso which tend to perform group selection, if the group of features is selected then all the features in the groups are selected. Sparse group lasso takes the advantage of group lasso and produces an efficient solution with simultaneous between and within group. The group feature selection tries to minimize the redundant and irrelevant features from the group to decreases the computational time. This is an interesting situation given that the two industries directly compete against one another. As a result, Consol is diversified and strategically projected against the risk of downturn in either profit stream. Coal Industry The coal industry has a gloomy economic forecast going forward. The U.S. Environment Protection Agency s new Clean Power Plan (a part of the Clean Air Act) causes much uncertainty for corporations like Consol. It was proposed by the EPA in June of 2014. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prices for coal are currently down. This drop has coincided with the drop in oil prices. Originally, it was expected that these two prices would be tied together, and that the drop would be quite temporary. However, the longer that coal has been down, the more likely it looks like it is down for the count so to speak. Many analysts believe that there has been an over production of coal in the past decade and the market has been saturated as a result. With every passing month that coal s prices stay low, and the supplies keep growing, it becomes less likely that things will turn around for the better in a permanent manner. Even with the rest of the world playing catchup with the transition to zero carbon intensive energy sources, the U.S. coal exports have been extremely low. China, for instance, has imported less in recent years. At one point, they were helping to drive our export market. In response to the lower demand, many mining corporations have begun to optimize their operations. This has been done by focusing on lower mining production costs, cheaper transportation costs, and favorable exchange rates. The goal is to keep operations from further declining profit wise as the U.S. Energy Information Administration expects a 7% decrease in total coal consumption for the year 2015. This decline in coal consumption will likely cause a decline in coal production, causing a decline in jobs for states such as Wyoming, West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, and ... The criticisms leveled at her are often based on the assumption that children consider Barbie a role model and will attempt to emulate her. 1. One of the most common criticisms of Barbie is that she promotes an unrealistic idea of body image for a young woman, leading to a risk that girls who attempt to emulate her will become anorexic. A standard Barbie doll is 11.5 inches tall, giving a height of 5 feet 9 inches at 1/6 scale. Barbie s vital statistics have been estimated at 36 inches (chest), 18 inches (waist) and 33 inches (hips). According to research by the University Central Hospital in Helsinki, Finland, she would lack the 17 to 22 percent body fat required for a woman to menstruate. In 1965 Slumber Party Barbie came with a book entitled How to Lose Weight which advised: Don t eat. The doll also came with pink bathroom scales reading 110 lbs., which would be around 35 lbs. underweight for a woman 5 feet 9 inches tall. Upon her death and elevation to sainthood she was enshrined where Ely Cathedral would later rise from the place of the former monastery at the decree of the Bishop of Bangor. The bishops of the Middle Ages held high social status and had great influence because of the high roles they held in the state. They were thus able to spend much of the church s wealth in and around the region of Ely on the creation and construction of Ely Cathedral (Burton, Edwin). This spending greatly led to the birth of Ely Cathedral as a social priority. This priority took the form of a broadening of the social structure that included new trades such as stone cutting, masonry and other forms of skilled labor that led to artistic endeavors such as sculpting and painting all directly impacted by cathedral building ( Cathedral Building in the Middle Ages ). Held in very high spiritual and social regard, the cathedrals throughout Europe, including Ely, commanded a kind of reverence that lasted for hundreds of years much as the Catholic Church had before the church gradually began to lose hold of its dominance as the Renaissance began to flourish. Once the Renaissance took hold many cathedrals, including Ely, were diminished in influence and even damaged or destroyed. Ely, however, withstood time ( The Cathedrals of ... • 32. The State And State Sovereignty Introduction This paper discusses the crucial issue of electoral systems and their peculiar utility to the effective representation in the national legislature (and even the executive) of the diverse interests within the state. This discussion is in no way novel as it has been one of the most age old and fundamental questions in the study of politics. Controversially, it can be said that before the question of how the state and state sovereignty (popularly led by John Locke and Thomas Hobbes) gained traction, the question of who must govern the state and how that governor must be chosen had already enjoyed some dissection. Plato s classical concept of the Philosopher King for instance, buttresses the latter assertion. To Plato, the reins of supreme power in the state had to be given to an authority that wielded an appreciable grasp of philosophy. To him, if a state wanted to choose a leader that could best ensure the wellbeing of all, that person must be a philosopher as the philosopher would know the interests of the people and pursue it accordingly. Plato also suggested that the Philosopher King had to surround himself with wise men for the purposes of seeking counsel. Aristotle criticized Plato s theory and doubted that it was viable for one man to know of the interests of all and also to be entrusted with so much power but would not abuse it. This conversation that began thousands of years ago has recorded succinct inputs from many other thinkers and scholars. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Currency Act Of 1764 Essay The central pillar of the British economy during its colonial period was its extensive trading power. Any threat to this power would have to be remedied sooner than later. For this exact reason the Currency Act of 1764 was birthed. In spirit the Currency Act of 1764 was intended for the betterment of British commerce. However, in actuality the Currency Act of 1764 had a negative impact on the lives of British colonial residents. To understand the reason, and perhaps necessity, for the conception of the Currency act of 1764, one must have a grasp of the economic situation in the American colonies prior to 1764. The currency used in the American colonies has always revolved around, specie or the two types of paper currency, legislatively issued legal tender or land bank notes (Finkelstein 39). Foreign specie was far more common than British specie, due to an export prohibition of British specie and an unfavorable balance of trade between the American colonies and Britain that drained whatever British specie ... In 1759 the economic situation worsened for Virginia when tobacco prices fell, damaging the local economy. All these factors combined with the complaints of British merchants to the Board of Trade and Britain s desire to secure British merchant s financial investments in the American colonies led to the Passage of the Currency Act of1764 (Ernst 33 37 ... The main objective of Operation Rolling Thunder , was to demoralize the North Vietnam people and to undermine the capacity of the government. Although the cost was effective, the attacks weren t, as the Vietnamese came up with an effective defense for the bombing raids, with assistance from China and The Soviet Union. By using surface to air missiles and radar controlled anti aircraft artillery, the Vietnamese were able to shoot down American planes over the course of the bombing campaigns. Defence lawyers say Mark Fuhrman was the chief conspirator and depict him as a racist with a motive to put a bloody glove on O.J. s property. Fuhrman testified under oath that he did not use any racial slurs in the past ten years but tapes, clearly depicting Fuhrman s racial slurs, prove otherwise. The defence s theory that he planted the glove is unsupported by any evidence. Detective Philip Vannatter testified that he didn t consider O.J. a suspect when police entered his estate without a warrant. Defence called upon Craig and Larry Fiato s testimony to try and prove that Vannatter was one of many investigators who assumed Simpson was the killer and later lied to cover up their motives for a warrantless search of O.J. s property. The defence suggested that Vannatter carried a vial of O.J. s blood and used it to stain pieces of evidence. The defence suggested that the police pulled a pair of socks out of O.J. s hamper, sprinkled them with blood and then placed them at the foot of his bed. The prosecution has set out a very specific timeline. They say Simpson could have committed the murders, rushed back to his place, slipped inside and got ready to meet a limousine that was waiting to take him to the airport all within this timeline. The defence says this makes no sense. The defence has a series of witnesses who were near the condominium at the hour in question and saw ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
