Tardiness
Chapter 3
Research Methodology This chapter represents and describes the research design, research setting, sampling procedure, data
gathering instruments and statistical treatments of data.
Research Design The descriptive method of research was used in this study. With this it does not only require the collection and
tabulation of data, but also it entails describing the data presented in this paper. In particular, the study attempted to describe and
analyze the factors that lead the development of tardiness among the students of Xavier University High School.
Research Setting The research was done in Xavier University Highschool Ateneo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro City. June 1999
marked the beginning of co education at XUHS and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Data Collection Procedure A researcher made questionnaire was given to the respondents to find out about the factors that lead
XUHS students of being tardy. Furthermore, in depth interviews were audio recorded to substantiate the results in this study.
Statistical Treatment To analyze and interpret the gathered data, the statistical tools were employed in this study. These are
frequency and percentage to describe the profile of the students and the factors that lead XUHS students of being

The Epidemiology Of Chronic Kidney Disease
In the past decade, the epidemiology of acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease has pointed to the fact that these are not
distinct disease entities, but are in fact interconnected. Acute kidney injury may lead to chronic kidney disease, both share
common risk factors: (1) race/ethnicity; (2) genetic factors; (3) hypertension; (4) diabetes mellitus; and (5) metabolic syndrome
(Chawla, Eggers, Star Kimmel, 2014)
Mr. Fisher has chronic hypertension, diabetes, and may have metabolic syndrome, as evidenced by obesity and hypertension.
Metabolic syndrome is characterized by an increased waist size, triglycerides that are 150mg/dl, HDL 130/85, fasting glucose
100mg/dl. (McCance Huether, 2014). I do not how well Mr. Fisher s blood glucose

Pediatric Nurse Research Paper
Only a particular type of person can rock Elmo scrubs. To have Disney princess characters gummed onto their stethoscope. To
have random colors of pee and goo stained onto your clothing. To get an IV taped onto an arm so invincibly. To mastering the art
of diaper changing. To work with babies to small children to adolescents to young adults, it takes a special dose of generosity and
muscle to care for him or her when they re sick. My magnitude and absolute desire to pursue slipping on Elmo scrubs, or in other
words, becoming a pediatric nurse is because it s a part of my character.
My passion in pursuing to be a nurse in pediatrics started when I was just 11 years old: my first babysitting job. That being said,
through the years of caring for children and making some sort of profit through enhancing my sincerity, my aspiration has only
grown. Being around children has made me a better child. In particular to this last year, on January 13th, 2017, when my baby ...

I remember having to stop in the mountains at one in the morning to put chains on the tires. He drove for a very long time through
heavy rain and snow all because I begged him to be there for Jaylen s birth. So finally walking into the hospital, following the
little cranes, and repeating, Ghostbusters! in order to enter room 410 just to see an eight pound and thirteen ounce newborn baby
boy sleeping in his hospital crib was such a blessing. Being an older sister to such a tiny, innocent human being ignited my sole
want for his good health and safety. I took helping my mother of now three, caring for Jaylen until I had to retire. Through this
personal experience, I was able to help provide hands on care towards him. I knew his signal for hunger or sleep was crying and

Women, Technology And Gender Abuse In South Africa
Today s world is a technological one where people spend most of their time in front of a screen. When we think of technology we
don t immediately think Africa. We think of the developed world where technology serves to enhance, entertain, protect as well as
threaten people in those areas. Africa as a continent is left for everything else such as dusty roads, green landscapes and women
with bright colored clothing carrying children on their backs. Technology and the internet is not immediately associated with
Africa and it should be. Africa consists of 57 countries with high access to the worldwide internet. African countries have women
who work within the media professions as well as a large young girls who spend most of their time online posting pictures for
friends to see and like. Unfortunately, with rising users of the free internet comes rising problems of online abuse within different
African countries. What might be considered a western problem is making its way into the African arena affecting many of its
women. Countries like South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania have had women who have faced the darker side of the internet through
cyber gender harassment. With the lack of awareness of cyber gender harassment in African countries more women result to
drastic measures such as suicide to find relief. While the world is focused on other problems involving Africans countries, the
silent threat of cyberbullying in becoming more apparent with no means of recognising its

Questions On Angels
Angels. Many questions revolve around this subject. Who or what are they? How many are there? Do they actually exist? The
Bible can and will answer many of these questions. Humankind always had its own opinion on angels, but unsurprisingly, most of
these assumptions are wrong. The Bible will contradict many of these theories on angels or it will prove them right. It just
depends how educated these assumptions are.
1. Q: Who are angels? (Hebrews 1:13, 14)
A:
Note: In other words angels are ministering spirits created by God. They live with God in Heaven and come down to Earth to hep
man.
2. Q: How many angels are there? (Revelation 5:1)

By doing this he will punish or reward us for our works. Good or bad. This s where you get to see who won your war, you or
Satan.
12. Q: In the end what happens to Lucifer and his angels? (Matthew 25:41)
A:
Note: Like the rest of the wicked (in the second coming), they will burn. Lucifer shall burn the longest for his treachery against
God. He will watch others burn then his followers, while he burns in the fire watching all his followers fall. Then he will fall, the
last, he will burn alone.
13. Who is Michael the Archangel? (Jude 1:9, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 20:5, Revelation 22:8, 9, Daniel 12:1, Joshua
5:13 15, Exodus 3:5, Acts 7:33)
A:
Note: Michael the Archangel is also the captain of the Lord s army. He let Joshua sit there and worship him, but in other verses it
says that angels don t accept worship. In other verses Jesus has accepted worship. This captain also said to take off your sandals
for your standing on holy ground. God has said this quotation two times. Michael is also the only one called an archangel in the
Bible, he is also the commander of an army who accepts worship unlike other angels. This somewhat proves he could be

Vaccines Are Really Good For Our Children
More and more in today s generation you hear the debates about whether or not vaccines are actually doing good for our children.
Many people believe that vaccinations lead to greater health risks, such as ADD, autism, and diabetes. They also believe that the
diseases that vaccinations prevent are just not around anymore, such as polio and small pox. They also believe that a child s
immune system can fight off any disease that vaccinations prevent. Despite what these people believe, they are wrong. ( Vaccines
, 2016) Today s children are immunized by age 13 against some 16 diseases (or 53 vaccine doses), including measles, mumps,
rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis A and B, meningitis, pneumonia, polio, chicken pox, flu,
rotavirus and the human papillomavirus. Most vaccinations are required, such as measles, tetanus, polio. Others are optional, such
as flue, chicken pox, or hpv, although recommend, parents are given the option for those vaccinations. As harmless as any of
these may seem, some of these are life threatening and not something anyone would want to have. There is no cure for polio. Your
body will shut down and you will weaken, until you lose all muscle function. Tetanus is a serious bacterial disease that affects
your nervous system, leading to painful muscle contractions, particularly of your jaw and neck muscles. (Mayo clinic staff, 2013)
Tetanus can also lead to death. Meningitis is inflammation of brain and

Myanmar, Better Known To The Rest Of The World As Burma,
Myanmar, better known to the rest of the world as Burma, is a basic country arranged in Southeast Asia. It was at one time a
prosperous country and now is one of the poorest countries on the planet today. As showed by Thadithil, this is an ordered history
of the events: In 1886, Burma transformed into a district of English India. 1936, Burma separates from India. 1942, Japan invaded
Burma. 1945, the Anti Fascist Freedom League, drove by Aung San, deceives Japan, and helps allies reoccupy Burma. 1947, the
Burmese won their freedom, Aung San wins the fundamental race yet was murdered during a meeting of the Executive Council

In spite of the fact that she was bound to her home, she tried to affirm her basic rights, to oppose the authorities, and to go outside
Yangon. This sometimes incited pompous experiences in odd conditions, for instance, her being held for a couple of days on a
bridge on the edges of Yangon in 1998 and again in 2000, and being denied a ticket on a train to Mandalay in 2000, which was the
reason she was returned to home confinement in August 2000 (Wilson). It s difficult to conceive how exhaustively and brutally
she was kept secluded from her own people and the rest of the world by the Myanmar authorities. Most of the time, the only

17th Century Native American Relations Research Paper
Aron McCusker APUSH Period 8 Summer Essay 1 17th Century European Relations with Native Americans During the 17th
Century, Europeans flocked to the Americas in search of new lives and opportunities. Upon development of their new colonies,
the discovery of native inhabitants posed questions for both parties on how to coexist. At first, most European colonies and their
surrounding native population worked together, but as time passed, a growing insensitivity towards each other led to controversy.
In most cases, socially, colonies in the Americas tolerated Native Americans, but ignored or resented their customs and traditions.

In the Chesapeake Bay area, colonists learned tobacco farming from natives, subsequently seizing much of their land for the
production of tobacco. However, they shared knowledge of metal tools and weapons brought from Europe with the Indians. New
England colonists similarly seized much of the surrounding Indian lands for lumber, but in return shared a wealth of knowledge
of European technology with their neighboring tribes. Spanish Southwestern colonists simply enforced labor rules on neighboring
natives, enslaving them for building and selling. Natives in New York and New France profited the most, as battles between the
English and other European powers over the fur trade left Indians very wealthy. Moreover, they also gained an understanding of

Reflective Essay On Professionalism
Professionalism can be defined as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person.
(Merriam webster) My interpretation of this definition is that professionalism is a standard that we must hold ourselves
accountable to in order to provide the best service. How do we get from a basic understanding of this definition, to practicing and
applying professionalism? Major attributes that lead to professionalism can include accountability, communication and reflective
practice. Reflective practice in the healthcare system is when practitioners engage in a continuous cycle of self observation and
self evaluation in order to understand their own actions and the reactions they prompt in themselves (becoming a better university
teacher...). In the day to day life, everyone performs a type of reflection whether it is by unconscious thought or by habit. When it
is unintentional it is hard to learn and grow from the knowledge that can potentially be gained. Therefore we need to find a way to
effectively incorporate reflective practice into our daily lives, especially as radiation therapy students.
There is a simple three step framework for practical, structured reflection by Dr. Natius Oelofsen that really stood out to me.
Reflective practice should not be complicated or time consuming or else it will not be done efficiently or effectively. We need
reflective practice to become habit during our school years in order for it to be

Character Analysis Of Jack Streicher
For Jack Streicher, religion has always been a dominant force in his life. The eldest of three, raised in a traditional Catholic
environment in Cincinnati, religion, family, and school have always been intertwined. He attended a Catholic high school and
wanted to attend a Catholic college as well. Religion has been constant for him; he described moments where it was hard for him
to have faith, but he never lost sight of the bigger picture and believes that God has a plan and will take care of us. He is deeply
connected with religion as an ethical call to go beyond the self. Religion, from his point of view, is selfless. He hopes to used his
religion to help others, which in turns helps him grow spiritually and develop a strong character. For some, religion is going to
church and practicing the ceremony of worshiping with others. Jack, on the other hand, does not find meaning in the ceremony of
religion, but the practice outside of the church. When describing his religion, he stated, the order of mass does not do much for
me, I find meaning in going out and making connections with others. For him, practicing faith is going out of his way to make
everyone feel welcomed and comfortable, establishing his religion as a prominent aspect of his overall personality. Because Jack
does not see the importance of the order of religion, he has no particular place of event attached to his religion; Jack s religion is
on a much more personal level. His religion is an inward force

Disadvantages Of Food Additives
Food additives are chemicals that are added to foods to keep them fresh or to enhance their color, flavor, or texture. They might
include food colorings, flavor enhancers, or a range of preservatives. Most of the time, food additives are listed on the product
label (along with other ingredients), spelt out in full or with a code. Some common food additives may include; artificial
sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup, monosodium glutamate (MSG), trans fat, common food dyes, and many more. It all
depends on what type of additive and your body weight/height to determine the limit of these additives you should have on a
daily basis. Artificial sweeteners are a sugar substitute that provides a sweet taste like sugar, but contains less food energy, and are
usually genetically modified. Effects of artificial sweeteners can include messing with your hormones, making you overheat,
increase the risk of diabetes, and they pollute your water. They can also cause weight gain, metabolic syndrome, and
cardiovascular disease. High fructose corn syrup is a sweetener made from corn starch, it has been processed by glucose
isomerase to convert some of its glucose into fructose. Being that high fructose corn syrup is not natural, it is not healthy at all. It
also has many dangerous effects if you consume to much. Some of these effects include; weight gain, cancer, fatty liver and liver
stress, increased cholesterol, heart disease, etc. It is best to stay away from products that contain high

neuroprotection on patients with the Alzheimer s disease. These studies expanded to other racetams such as Aniracetam and

reduce problems within the company s internal functions, external suppliers, and external distributors. Some advantages DIMCO
can gain from implementing SCM are as follows; the supply chain would improve the quality of service to the end user; reduce
channel cost; and create a competitive advantage. (Reid Sanders, 2010) The implementations of SCM will strengthen DIMCO
partnership with suppliers and distributors. Supply chain management can also prevent such challenges such as the bullwhip
effect, caused by erratic replenishment of orders placed on different levels in the supply chain that have no apparent link to final
product demand. (Reid Sanders, 2010) An effective and efficient SCM will allow partners to share information concerning health,
safety, government regulations and environmental issues. SCM will provide a common network for communications, suggestions,

may be respected for her demonstration of recognizable reasoning despite the strong argument against her aptitude for rational
thinking and competency in this situation, or more so what we know of her character from the study. Thus, greater evidence is
seemingly not needed to prove she has or is capable of achieving a competent decision as her person and societal behaviours

B s competency can be made through her recognizable reasons. Freedman, as a strong proponent of the view that such reasons fall
under both necessary and sufficient conditions to demonstrate some competence, would argue autonomous decisions demonstrate
the competence to recognize and uphold one s best interests. Ms. B s last assertion is her strongest and most empathetic defense
for competency because the thought that they might take her feet without letting her make the decision was terrible; it was an
outcome she understood the significance of because her autonomy and consent would be overridden by what was deemed
ordinary treatment. Freedman stresses that physician judgement on what is rational and what rationality involves imposes a
paternalistic stance by placing greater value on physician decision making. Though the premises that all lives are equal and the
autonomy to govern one s medical decisions based on their best interests are not explicitly stated, they are implied in recognizing
that she has the right to refuse the amputation even when the outcome of said decision is no more desirable. As this would be an
acceptable reason, Freedman would argue Ms. B appeared marginally

Authentic Leadership approach is kind of a leadership approach where the leader is defined as genuine, moral and character based
leaders. ( (Bill George, 2016). Authentic leaders are always true to their core values. The leader may or may not demand or

Mathematical Constants Are Useful For Programming Essay
Programmatically Computing Mathematical Constants
Many mathematical constants are useful for programming. For instance, if you need to use the transcendental number pi, you
need to calculate it somehow. I set out to create a library of sorts to calculate as many mathematical constants as I could.
Constant
Explanation and Code
Alladi Grinstead constant
The Alladi Grinstead constant is defined as ec 1, where ck=21kln(kk 1). To do summation (), one has to use a for loop with
precision limiting behavior.
This code uses an interchanged summation using the Riemann zeta function (n), this converges much faster than the technical
definition above, which is essential to optimizing the code.
The value of the Alladi Grinstead constant is:
0.809394020540639130717931880594091317215953992425000304242028715042999012516547322311518407819723616915
Apéry s constant
This is simply the value of the Riemann Zeta function at 3. So, (3).
The entire program uses an external library called Boost, which provides extended precision (theoretically arbitrary precision) and

Charles Manson Criminology Paper
Charles Manson Helter Skelter Criminology Professor Charles Manson Helter Skelter Charles Manson long and crazy life started
at birth, and has not ceased since. He is still today one of the biggest icons in the murder mix, as being a serial killer. He is a man
with many different powers and ways to draw people in. His long, hard, and crazy life all started with his mother, Kathleen Kathy
Maddox. She was the youngest of three children born to Nancy and Charles Maddox, she ran away from her strict Fundamentalist
Christian home when she was 15 years old to escape the cold, strict, and oppressive family (Sable, 2006). She was an alcoholic
runaway at only 16 years old. She gave birth on November 12, 1934, at 4:40pm, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we may trust his memory, at least one guard incited other boys to rape and torture Manson, while the officer stood by and
masturbated on the sidelines (Zayyan). In February 1951, Manson was arrested again in Beaver, Utah and sentenced for federal
time because of a series of stolen cars. He started off in a minimum security establishment, Manson assaulted another inmate in
January of 1952, he was caught holding a razor blade to the boy s throat and sodomizing him (Zayyan). Manson was reclassified
as dangerous and was transferred to a tougher lock up logging eight major disciplinary infractions, including three homosexual
assaults by August of 1952 (Zayyan). He was then moved to Ohio reformatory a month later, and suddenly there he turned over a
new leaf, becoming a model prisoner almost overnight, the cunning act was rewarding and he received parole in May of 1954.
Following all of these crazy and different crimes in September 1955, Manson got off easy with five years probation, he celebrated
by skipping a court date in Florida, and his probation was revoked, he was then picked up in Indianapolis on March 14, 1956, he
was sent to the federal prison at Terminal Island, California, finally winning parole on September 30, 1958 (Zayyan). May 1,
1959 he was jailed in Los Angles, on charges of forging and cashing stolen U.S. Treasury checks, he escaped with probation
which was swiftly revoked with his April 1960

Hollywood Rape
This culture isn t just present behind the scenes in Hollywood. More and more people are coming out with their #MeToo stories,
after the events with Harvey Weinstein. Many women and men began sharing about how they were assaulted or harassed sexually.
Some people do not feel comfortable telling these traumatic events to the World Wide Web. In 2013, there were 309 reported
forcible rapes in Broward County. But, it is unknown how many total there were. So many victims do not report their attacker.
Many victims of rape, sexual assault, and sexaul harrasment are attacked before the age of 18, according to Broward Human
Resources website. That mean they are students in high school and middle school. Preparation for these cases can be teachers,
coaches, family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When stories of rape, assault, or harassment come into the light, a lot of blame is placed on the victim. People often say that she
was probably dressed provocatively. Some victims respond to this by posting pictures of what they were wearing. Most of the
time, they outfit is not inappropriate, especially if they are middle school or high school students. Another excuse is that boys will
be boys.
To me, rape culture means that society accepts the fact that sexual harassment, like catcalling and other kinds of stuff, is just a
part of it, said sophomore Naomi Rosenberg. Boys can still be sexually assaulted, but usually they are the ones not being
accountable for what they do to girls. People just say boys will be boys and are done with it.
Putting all the blame on the victim could be considered unfair. For the most part the offender continues living, with barely any
charges be pressed against them. Victims are being held accountable for actions done to them. They did not give the other person
consent, their personal space was penetrated, and they were attacked. Victims have to live with that everyday of their life. Yet,
society still puts everything on

The Importance Of Heroes In Literature
Heroes are an essential part of literature they come in many shapes and sizes and are key to encouraging readers to pursue
greatness. For children who feel neglected, forgotten, and powerless turning to literature can be their escape. To children a child
hero is a representation of the things that may be possible to an ordinary child. In Neil gaiman s novel Coraline goes face to face
with the beldam to rescue her parents adn to find her identity . While in JK Rowling s novel harry potter and the philosopher s
stone harry and his friends band together in a fight of good vs evil. A true child hero stands in the face of adversity and overcomes
the challenges thrown at them by adults, they serve as role models providing children an escape from a powerless adult world,
both novels going beyond classical heroes; Coraline Jones and Harry potter are postmodern heroes.
Heroes like Harry and Coraline are role models to children who feel powerless and unimportant. Heroes give children an
opportunity to feel more like an adult: mature, in control, and in power. Harry is an orphan child who has been pushed to believe
he is less than ordinary and certainly not of any value of or importance, But once he is a wizard he becomes a positive role model
to children as recognized by deborah duff who claims that child heroes demonstrate lessons for coping with bullies or how to
approach social awkwardness. Harry displays that good choices can be made in tough situations (Duff, 25). This

What I Did The Baylor Interdisciplinary Curriculum ( Bic )
There were many ways I could have gone about writing this essay, the needless use of big words to convey simple points, the
insertion of irrelevant long quotes just to make the minimum page requirement, but this is the last undergraduate essay I will ever
write. If I will write, I might as well write with my best effort and in my own style. Reflecting over my journey these last five
years has been difficult. These years have been filled with so many trials and tribulations that it feels as though a lifetime has
passed since I first set foot on the campus of Baylor University, yet at the same time it feels as though it went by so fast, I merely
blinked and it was over. I can honestly say the Baylor Interdisciplinary Curriculum (BIC) is my greatest and most precious
takeaway from my undergraduate experience. It was in the BIC that I learned to enlarge my perspective, become more fully aware
of myself, and become prepared for leadership and service. I have been challenged by the BIC and to my surprise, I rose to the
challenge. This experience cannot be fully explained without evaluating and reflecting upon the various worlds, lives, and
cultures explored in the BIC and how they are personally related to me.
The BIC educated me on the World of Rhetoric and from that experience I gained profound oratory and writing skills that I will
utilize the rest of my life. Out of all the concepts I have studied in the BIC, the World of Rhetoric was by far the most jarring and

Clarisse s Living Conditions In Fahrenheit 451
One of the principal characteristics of a dystopian novel is the implementation of undesirable and horrifying conditions to its
setting, and Fahrenheit 451 s society certainly has those conditions. These conditions are first shown when Clarisse describes to
Montag what schools is like. She describes how they have An hour of of TV class, an hour of basketball or baseball or running,
another hour of transcription history or painting, and more sports, but do you know, we never ask questions, or at least most don t;
they just run the answers at you, bing, bing, bing, and us sitting there for four more hours of film teacher (29). Clarisse shows that
the children in this society are not taught to be critical thinkers; they do not have any real ... Show more content on

Clarisse also shows the second example of the terrible conditions within Fahrenheit 451, through the same conversation with
Montag. She says to him I m afraid of children my age. They kill each other ... Six of my friends have been shot in the last year
alone. Ten of them died in car wrecks (30). In this world, the children spend most of their free time killing each for sadistic sport.
There is no doubt of the repulsivity of such a world. The final example of the terrifying conditions within Fahrenheit 451 presents
itself when Captain Beatty explains to Montag how their society functions. Beatty attempts to achieve this understanding by
asking What do we want in this country, above all? People want to be happy, isn t that right? ... Well aren t they? Don t we keep
them moving, don t we give them fun? That s all we live for, isn t it? For pleasure, for titillation? And you must admit our culture
provides plenty of these (59). What has become apparent, through this speech, is that society within the novel has become entirely
hedonistic. They lack all depth and spiritualism, only caring for fun and immediate

Analysis Of. Eliot s Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock
In T.S. Eliot s Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock, Prufrock invites the reader on a journey with him through his story of love, or love
that never was. He speaks to the reader as his love lost and asks her to stick with him on his journey through time, to learn why
their love never transpired. He begins by showing her his decisions as a young adult, optimistic and confident in time, to prepare
for her. Time goes by, he is now middle aged and insecure of his appearance, now in fear of her rejection and unsure if he has
missed his window. Nearing the end of the poem he has grown older still, having wasted all time, knowing now that his love story
will never be, he is ready to show his lost love, why. Young Adult Prufrock begins as lite hearted and carefree. He invites his love
on a walk at dusk through the sleazy streets of their town. Begging her not to question him just yet of where they are going, Oh do
not ask what is it let us go and make our visit. (Eliot) Prufrock is confident in time, comfortable in procrastinating. There will be
time, there will be time, to prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet; there will be time to murder and create; and time for all
the works and days of hands that lift and drop a question on your plate: time for you and time for me, (Eliot) Looking further into
the text here, it leaves the impression that he is stringing the love along, expecting her to wait until he is ready, assuming that she
will always be there when he decides

Review Of The Little Albert Experiment

John Watson and Classical Conditioning
In psychology, respondent behavior is behavior learned through classical conditioning. This type of learning is defined as a way
in which one learns to link two or more stimuli while also anticipating events; or other wise, known as a kind of learning that
occurs when a conditioned stimulus is paired with an unconditioned stimulus. While classical conditioning was accidently
discovered by Ivan Pavlov, John B. Watson was interested in taking Pavlov s experiences a bit further. Watson s ultimate goal was
to research how classical conditioning could be seen through humans and not just through animals. An in depth look on John
Watson s actual experiment can be better explained and found in the article titled, The Little Albert Experiment on
http://psychology.about.com/od/classicpsychologystudies/a/little albert experiment.htm.
John Watson s Contribution
Classical conditioning is identified as the type of learning where the nature of the research conditions a fear response to the
subject being experimented on. An implication of the research for human behavior involving conditioned fear response would
describe how a child might be afraid of storms because of the partnership between the storm and the sound of the loud thunder.
This being said, John B. Watson wanted to further explain this reasoning of classical conditioning through his own experiment
that many people call The Little

The Lottery
By Shirley Jackson
One day on June 27th, the civilians that live in a small New England village all gather in their town square. The town square is in
the central part of the town that they live in. That is where the townspeople have their town lottery. Mr. Graves is in charge of the
lottery and brings the black box into the center of the New England village town s square. The black box is where the citizens put
the entries of the lottery into the box. The town square is where they gather for the lottery. The postmaster is in charge of bringing
the stool for the black box to be set only. Then Mr. Summers Calls everyone s name out loud to see who has shown up for the
lottery in their small New England village. The lottery will get underway after the roll call. Each one of the people in charge of
the households draws a paper, and if there is a black dot on it, they will win the lottery. And if a person from the town wins the
lottery, he or she will die. The author s purpose of the lottery is to show the readers the diversity that we have in the story because
all of the citizens participate. When I was reading the lottery it was a positive experience for me, because we have this today but
just another type of the lottery, and I love to read these ironic types of stories.
The best part of the story that I like is when they actually have their towns lottery. I like this part of the story because

The Eureka Stockade
The eureka stockade... It is defined by many as the beginning of Australia. This historical event has influenced every person, in
that it changed our country s legal system for the better, into the democracy we know today. For this reason, a documentary needs
to be made about the struggles and journey that these noble diggers went through, to improve the lives of everyone.
The Gold rush that took place in Ballarat, Victoria brought with it much conflict. The Eureka stockade was a battle between the
government and the troops that took place in 1854. Although the battle took place on December 3rd, the events that led to it,
happened during that year. The outrage first started when Governor Hotham came to power and set up weekly licence checks and
increased the price of licences in order to make money for himself and relieve the debt of the colony. Over months the licence
checks became more frequent and the police became brutal in order to collect owed fees. On October 7th 1854 digger James
Scobie was murdered and his suspected murderer James Bentley was acquitted due to his friendship with the judge. This made the
miners angrier, and on 17th October 10,000 diggers got together and burnt down the Eureka hotel in protest. With no action from
government authorities being taken to improve the conditions, the miners formed the Ballarat Reform league at Bakery Hill. It
was here on November 11th that the miners first developed the rights and demands that they would fight for. On

Firewalls are set up on computers to help protect computers and other devices from attacks from potentially harmful websites and
other resources. Proxies are servers that act as a middle man for computers. They allow users to make indirect connections to
other servers. The LAN to WAN domain is where the infrastructure connects to the Internet. Updates, firewalls and proxies will
help to keep things running and help to keep it protected. The fifth domain is the WAN domain. In this domain, the network
security application that is apart of it is the intrusion detection system/intrusion prevention system (IDS/IPS). This device
monitors the system for malicious activities and reports it back (Kim Solomon, 2012). The WAN Domain connects to remote
locations and using the IDS/IPS is crucial because it will help to remote if any outside activity is trying to access the system that
should not be. The sixth domain is the Remote Access Domain. In this domain, the network security applications that is apart of it
is Proxies. Similar to LAN to WAN domain, proxies help to allow users to connect to server through another server. Remote
access allows users to connect to the server remotely and Proxies give a user the opportunity to use a proxy server to do this. The
seventh domain is the Systems/Applications Domain. In this domain, the network security

The Dancing Plague Of 1518 Essay
Emily De La Hunt Reilly 03/28/17 The Dancing Plague of 1518 The dancing plague of 1518 was an outburst of a large amount of
villagers that were agressively dancing unwillingly for days on end until they died of exhaustion, dehydration, or strokes. Some
theories were suggested to diagnos the reason for how the dancing plague occured. The theories proposed were mass panic and
hysteria, ergot fungus injestion, the victims were in a trance, or that their religion and beliefs, in some way, generated the dancing
plague. It s difficult to imagine that people were able to dance for several days with bruised and bloody feet. However, it s easier
to believe if it were known that the people involved weren t completely conscious of what they were doing. The villagers were

Mass hysteria, also known as moral panic, can be created by panic and worry. Moral panic is a fear that grips a large number of
people that something is threatening society. Strasbourg, Alsace was an area where many people were in poverty and in

physical symptoms among a large number of people. The towns in medieval times were much smaller than in modern day places,
which could explain why so many people were involved out of the entire village. The dancing epidemic of 1518 fits in the

city. Moscow and St. Petersburg are considered to be the most important cities in Russia. Moscow became a major city in the 13th
and 15th century, and it is claimed by the author to have been pivotal in unifying the Russian citizens to a singular state after the
Mongol Empire lost their control of Russia in the 15th and 16th century. Some of the significant historical events associated with

iron.
7. Why does the author consider that Khazaria, in fact, seems to have been a refuge for people fleeing persecution in other realms
? Who were the Khazars? The Khazars were from central Asia and they were a Turkish speaking group. The author considers
Khazaria a possible refuge for people because they did not have a religion that the people of Khazaria had to claim as their own.
That is, all religions were allowed to be practiced without the fear of persecution from the government of Khazaria.

The Epidemiology Of Chronic Kidney Disease In the past decade, the epidemiology of acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease has pointed to the fact that these are not distinct disease entities, but are in fact interconnected. Acute kidney injury may lead to chronic kidney disease, both share common risk factors: (1) race/ethnicity; (2) genetic factors; (3) hypertension; (4) diabetes mellitus; and (5) metabolic syndrome (Chawla, Eggers, Star Kimmel, 2014) Mr. Fisher has chronic hypertension, diabetes, and may have metabolic syndrome, as evidenced by obesity and hypertension. To work with babies to small children to adolescents to young adults, it takes a special dose of generosity and muscle to care for him or her when they re sick. My magnitude and absolute desire to pursue slipping on Elmo scrubs, or in other words, becoming a pediatric nurse is because it s a part of my character. My passion in pursuing to be a nurse in pediatrics started when I was just 11 years old: my first babysitting job. That being said, through the years of caring for children and making some sort of profit through enhancing my sincerity, my aspiration has only grown. Being around children has made me a better child. In particular to this last year, on January 13th, 2017, when my baby ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Women, Technology And Gender Abuse In South Africa Today s world is a technological one where people spend most of their time in front of a screen. When we think of technology we don t immediately think Africa. We think of the developed world where technology serves to enhance, entertain, protect as well as threaten people in those areas. Africa as a continent is left for everything else such as dusty roads, green landscapes and women with bright colored clothing carrying children on their backs. Technology and the internet is not immediately associated with Africa and it should be. Africa consists of 57 countries with high access to the worldwide internet. African countries have women who work within the media professions as well as a large young girls who spend most of their time online posting pictures for friends to see and like. Unfortunately, with rising users of the free internet comes rising problems of online abuse within different African countries. What might be considered a western problem is making its way into the African arena affecting many of its women. Countries like South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania have had women who have faced the darker side of the internet through cyber gender harassment. With the lack of awareness of cyber gender harassment in African countries more women result to drastic measures such as suicide to find relief. While the world is focused on other problems involving Africans countries, the silent threat of cyberbullying in becoming more apparent with no means of recognising its ... • 6. Questions On Angels Angels. Many questions revolve around this subject. Who or what are they? How many are there? Do they actually exist? The Bible can and will answer many of these questions. Humankind always had its own opinion on angels, but unsurprisingly, most of these assumptions are wrong. The Bible will contradict many of these theories on angels or it will prove them right. It just depends how educated these assumptions are. 1. Q: Who are angels? (Hebrews 1:13, 14) A: Note: In other words angels are ministering spirits created by God. They live with God in Heaven and come down to Earth to hep man. 2. Q: How many angels are there? (Matthew 25:41) A: Note: Like the rest of the wicked (in the second coming), they will burn. Lucifer shall burn the longest for his treachery against God. He will watch others burn then his followers, while he burns in the fire watching all his followers fall. Then he will fall, the last, he will burn alone. 13. Who is Michael the Archangel? (Jude 1:9, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 20:5, Revelation 22:8, 9, Daniel 12:1, Joshua 5:13 15, Exodus 3:5, Acts 7:33) A: Note: Michael the Archangel is also the captain of the Lord s army. He let Joshua sit there and worship him, but in other verses it says that angels don t accept worship. In other verses Jesus has accepted worship. This captain also said to take off your sandals for your standing on holy ground. God has said this quotation two times. Michael is also the only one called an archangel in the Bible, he is also the commander of an army who accepts worship unlike other angels. This somewhat proves he could be ... • 7. Vaccines Are Really Good For Our Children More and more in today s generation you hear the debates about whether or not vaccines are actually doing good for our children. Many people believe that vaccinations lead to greater health risks, such as ADD, autism, and diabetes. They also believe that the diseases that vaccinations prevent are just not around anymore, such as polio and small pox. They also believe that a child s immune system can fight off any disease that vaccinations prevent. Despite what these people believe, they are wrong. ( Vaccines , 2016) Today s children are immunized by age 13 against some 16 diseases (or 53 vaccine doses), including measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis A and B, meningitis, pneumonia, polio, chicken pox, flu, rotavirus and the human papillomavirus. Most vaccinations are required, such as measles, tetanus, polio. Others are optional, such as flue, chicken pox, or hpv, although recommend, parents are given the option for those vaccinations. As harmless as any of these may seem, some of these are life threatening and not something anyone would want to have. There is no cure for polio. Your body will shut down and you will weaken, until you lose all muscle function. Upon development of their new colonies, the discovery of native inhabitants posed questions for both parties on how to coexist. At first, most European colonies and their surrounding native population worked together, but as time passed, a growing insensitivity towards each other led to controversy. In most cases, socially, colonies in the Americas tolerated Native Americans, but ignored or resented their customs and traditions. • 10. Reflective Essay On Professionalism Professionalism can be defined as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. (Merriam webster) My interpretation of this definition is that professionalism is a standard that we must hold ourselves accountable to in order to provide the best service. How do we get from a basic understanding of this definition, to practicing and applying professionalism? Major attributes that lead to professionalism can include accountability, communication and reflective practice. Reflective practice in the healthcare system is when practitioners engage in a continuous cycle of self observation and self evaluation in order to understand their own actions and the reactions they prompt in themselves (becoming a better university teacher...). In the day to day life, everyone performs a type of reflection whether it is by unconscious thought or by habit. When it is unintentional it is hard to learn and grow from the knowledge that can potentially be gained. Therefore we need to find a way to effectively incorporate reflective practice into our daily lives, especially as radiation therapy students. There is a simple three step framework for practical, structured reflection by Dr. Natius Oelofsen that really stood out to me. Reflective practice should not be complicated or time consuming or else it will not be done efficiently or effectively. We need reflective practice to become habit during our school years in order for it to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Character Analysis Of Jack Streicher For Jack Streicher, religion has always been a dominant force in his life. The eldest of three, raised in a traditional Catholic environment in Cincinnati, religion, family, and school have always been intertwined. He attended a Catholic high school and wanted to attend a Catholic college as well. Religion has been constant for him; he described moments where it was hard for him to have faith, but he never lost sight of the bigger picture and believes that God has a plan and will take care of us. He is deeply connected with religion as an ethical call to go beyond the self. Religion, from his point of view, is selfless. He hopes to used his religion to help others, which in turns helps him grow spiritually and develop a strong character. For some, religion is going to church and practicing the ceremony of worshiping with others. Jack, on the other hand, does not find meaning in the ceremony of religion, but the practice outside of the church. When describing his religion, he stated, the order of mass does not do much for me, I find meaning in going out and making connections with others. For him, practicing faith is going out of his way to make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable, establishing his religion as a prominent aspect of his overall personality. Because Jack does not see the importance of the order of religion, he has no particular place of event attached to his religion; Jack s religion is on a much more personal level. • 12. Disadvantages Of Food Additives Food additives are chemicals that are added to foods to keep them fresh or to enhance their color, flavor, or texture. They might include food colorings, flavor enhancers, or a range of preservatives. Most of the time, food additives are listed on the product label (along with other ingredients), spelt out in full or with a code. Some common food additives may include; artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup, monosodium glutamate (MSG), trans fat, common food dyes, and many more. It all depends on what type of additive and your body weight/height to determine the limit of these additives you should have on a daily basis. Artificial sweeteners are a sugar substitute that provides a sweet taste like sugar, but contains less food energy, and are usually genetically modified. Effects of artificial sweeteners can include messing with your hormones, making you overheat, increase the risk of diabetes, and they pollute your water. They can also cause weight gain, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease. High fructose corn syrup is a sweetener made from corn starch, it has been processed by glucose isomerase to convert some of its glucose into fructose. Being that high fructose corn syrup is not natural, it is not healthy at all. It also has many dangerous effects if you consume to much. In accordance with Benjamin Freedman s perspective in Competence, Marginal and Otherwise , Ms. B s decision to not be treated may be respected for her demonstration of recognizable reasoning despite the strong argument against her aptitude for rational thinking and competency in this situation, or more so what we know of her character from the study. Thus, greater evidence is seemingly not needed to prove she has or is capable of achieving a competent decision as her person and societal behaviours suggests her disposition was never initially competent. However, with respecting Ms. B s autonomy requires scrutiny and additional measures to be taken to consult Ms. B on the severity of the consequences of her decision and provide her steps ... Freedman, as a strong proponent of the view that such reasons fall under both necessary and sufficient conditions to demonstrate some competence, would argue autonomous decisions demonstrate the competence to recognize and uphold one s best interests. Ms. B s last assertion is her strongest and most empathetic defense for competency because the thought that they might take her feet without letting her make the decision was terrible; it was an outcome she understood the significance of because her autonomy and consent would be overridden by what was deemed ordinary treatment. Freedman stresses that physician judgement on what is rational and what rationality involves imposes a paternalistic stance by placing greater value on physician decision making. Though the premises that all lives are equal and the autonomy to govern one s medical decisions based on their best interests are not explicitly stated, they are implied in recognizing that she has the right to refuse the amputation even when the outcome of said decision is no more desirable. As this would be an acceptable reason, Freedman would argue Ms. B appeared marginally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These years have been filled with so many trials and tribulations that it feels as though a lifetime has passed since I first set foot on the campus of Baylor University, yet at the same time it feels as though it went by so fast, I merely blinked and it was over. Alfred Prufrock, Prufrock invites the reader on a journey with him through his story of love, or love that never was. He speaks to the reader as his love lost and asks her to stick with him on his journey through time, to learn why their love never transpired. He begins by showing her his decisions as a young adult, optimistic and confident in time, to prepare for her. Time goes by, he is now middle aged and insecure of his appearance, now in fear of her rejection and unsure if he has missed his window. Nearing the end of the poem he has grown older still, having wasted all time, knowing now that his love story will never be, he is ready to show his lost love, why. Young Adult Prufrock begins as lite hearted and carefree. He invites his love on a walk at dusk through the sleazy streets of their town. Begging her not to question him just yet of where they are going, Oh do not ask what is it let us go and make our visit. (Eliot) Prufrock is confident in time, comfortable in procrastinating. There will be time, there will be time, to prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet; there will be time to murder and create; and time for all the works and days of hands that lift and drop a question on your plate: time for you and time for me, (Eliot) Looking further into the text here, it leaves the impression that he is stringing the love along, expecting her to wait until he is ready, assuming that she will always be there when he decides ... This type of learning is defined as a way in which one learns to link two or more stimuli while also anticipating events; or other wise, known as a kind of learning that occurs when a conditioned stimulus is paired with an unconditioned stimulus. While classical conditioning was accidently discovered by Ivan Pavlov, John B. Watson was interested in taking Pavlov s experiences a bit further. The Gold rush that took place in Ballarat, Victoria brought with it much conflict. The Eureka stockade was a battle between the government and the troops that took place in 1854. Although the battle took place on December 3rd, the events that led to it, happened during that year. The outrage first started when Governor Hotham came to power and set up weekly licence checks and increased the price of licences in order to make money for himself and relieve the debt of the colony. Over months the licence checks became more frequent and the police became brutal in order to collect owed fees. On October 7th 1854 digger James Scobie was murdered and his suspected murderer James Bentley was acquitted due to his friendship with the judge. This made the miners angrier, and on 17th October 10,000 diggers got together and burnt down the Eureka hotel in protest. With no action from government authorities being taken to improve the conditions, the miners formed the Ballarat Reform league at Bakery Hill.
