2. Daimyo And Samurai Research Paper
After centuries of dictatorship The Daimyo and samurai were successful in defeating all odds at taking
control of Japan. The year 1868 marked mayor turning point as The Meiji restoration begun. The
beginning of a modernization and industrialization era for japan had arrived Japan s leaders was
determined to transform japan for the best and established prosperity among the people. The Japanese
did not expect Commander Mathew Perry backed by the United Sates Navy to show up at their
doorstep and demanded that, japan change their ways they continued to introduce western culture as
well technology to japan, with no surprise the Commander was portrayed evil and ready to conquer.
Even though the Japanese were not very welcoming to the U.S, I think that their challenge was to
destroy the barricade between the two and develop a relationship.

3. Tarantino s Pulp Fiction
Pulp Fiction is a movie that almost everyone today has seen during it theater run or at home on DVD
or Netflix. However, it can be a complicated movie to understand if one is only looking for a straight
narrative. Pulp fiction seems to have multiple plots being told almost simultaneously creating an aura
of confusion for the ones not paying close attention. Some will say it is about two hit men or a boxer,
but actually there is no set story behind the film. The whole purpose of the film was to parody every
type of film movement created.
Tarantino s film included all types of film movement ever created; however, his film had no story.
Maybe this was done to show that by applying some of the rules from each movement, a director can

Other aspects of the film such as mise en scene also make the film s meaning. Tarantino also used his
film to define social themes, especially through the use of the mise en scene. Specifically, in the scene
where the young Butch is about to receive his father s gold watch, he is watching a show that can be
considered racist showing the upbringing and themes of the past. Another example, is when Jules and
Vincent take Marvin s body to Jimmie s house. Jimmie s reaction is actually very surrealistic. In other
words, the incident manages to rekindle the racial stereotypes that were lurking in Jimmie s
subconscious. Jimmie says a swear word that can be offensive without even thinking twice about what
he has said, especially in front of his African American friend, Jules. Normally, in most movies and
real life situations this would not be tolerated and would cause an issue. Tarantino also makes many
references to television shows throughout his film. This gives his film a Post Modernist style,
however, it can also be used as a social commentary on the importance of television to modern day
society. Additionally, Tarantino seems to have based his characters on different characters from the
earlier styles of cinema. For

5. Gender Roles In The Television Industry
For many years, the movie and television industry has portrayed the role of men and women in
television in their ideal lifestyle. In modern day film making industry, a flip of gender roles is
happening, showing that men and women can be shown in a different light for the audience to see,
estimating different values of love and strength. Although the role is flipping, some movies and
television shows exemplify that there is still the traditional aspect, with men being strong and women
being soft. Some shows imply that the traditional and modern role can be wrapped up in one series to
display how the characters can build each other up and help each other out. One show that shows the
bond between traditional and modern roles is How I Met Your ... Show more content on

Ted views love as being romantic and fulfilling the dream that love can bring. Ted s goal and
motivation is to find the perfect woman, so he can get married, then buy a house in the suburbs, then
have kids, and then grow old with his wife until they die. This vision that Ted has portrays the
romantic side in love, although he has to jump through many hoops in order to find his idealistic
woman through dating. The romantic love that Ted has redefines what Katz is saying in his video.
Katz says that men are tough, know that violence is the answer to everything, and that love is not
relevant in a man s mind. An example of Ted realizing that violence is wrong is when he fights with
Doug the bartender, and realizes that violence is not the answer to everything. Doug gives Ted and
Barney (excluding Marshall) free drinks, for thinking that he helped him by fighting guys who took
the booth . But once a restraining order is present in a lawsuit against Ted and Barney, they sell Doug
out because Ted and Barney were not involved in the fist fight. Once Doug finds out, he hits Ted and
Barney runs off. Ted realizes that violence is wrong because fighting really hurts your fist and face.
From Katz s view on men s characteristics, Ted is redefining the traditional man by his ways of non
violence and realizing that love is not sex. From this example, Doug reveals the traditional male
aspect of strength, and Ted revealing the modern aspect on violence as being kind and friendly. Ted s
views on love and views on violence are similar to Marshall s

6. Beowulf And King Arthur Analysis
Beowulf versus King Arthur
Courage, perseverance, and honor are all traits of a hero. Beowulf and King Arthur both share many
qualities of a hero. The epic of Beowulf is about a great Geat that defeats the horrid Grendel of
Denmark. The story, Once and Future King, is about the great King Arthur and how he became king
and his reign in England. Beowulf is a fearless leader that defeats great monsters and deadly giants.
Later in his life he defeats Grendel, Grendel s mother, and a dragon. King Arthur was the outcast in his
family; he did not fit in as a child. As he grows older, his tutor Merlyn teaches him about different
values in life. King Arthur, formally known as Wart, becomes king when he pulls the famous sword
from the stone. Both Beowulf and King Arthur shared many traits that made them epic heros.
Courage is a trait shared by Beowulf and King Arthur or Wart . Beowulf showed courage through the
many battles he fought . Beowulf went to Heorot in hopes of defeating Grendel, the monster that had
been attacking Herot for the last twelve years. This was courageous because he knew that he could be
killed, but he fought anyway because that s what he needed to do. Wart showed courage when he
pulled the sword out of the stone. He did not want to be King of England, let alone at such a young
age. He wanted to put the sword back in the stone or let someone else become King. Wart was
courageous and became King because he knew that was his duty. These examples show that courage

and our eyes opened with awe the bright green field was littered with exiting obstacles to dodge
bullets with, excitement filled our stomach and we could wait to get out on the field and shoot each

Business skills for life has taught me many important life skills. We have covered career planning
skills such as making a resume or cover letter and completing a job interview. It has also taught me the
value and importance of a budget and how to make one. Another life skill that we talked about was the
different ways to save money. An important topic in society today that we covered was consumer
credit since the accumulation of credit cards and credit card debt is becoming an epidemic in America.
Lastly, we talked about retirement planning which is essential to anyone who plans to retire. One of
the first lectures we discussed was about career planning skills. We even had career services come in
and talk in more detail about the resume and cover letter. A resume should have several different
sections. There should be a personal data section, career objective section, education section, related
information section, and a reference section. Career services said including references is becoming
outdated, so you should only provide references if asked. A resume should also be formatted correctly.
It should follow reverse chronological order under each section. It should be concise and only one

9. Informative Essay On Kites Research Paper
Introduction
Kites for centuries have been an interesting object of flight fascinating people all over the world. The
standard diamond kite can be made at home simply with 2 wooden dowels, plastic sheeting, strong
tape, twine and a kite string or fishing line. Considering kites are simple and easy to make, at home
you can also design it whatever way you like. It s become an unpopular activity for as you can see
technology has advanced, but today I ll be presenting to you the history and aerodynamics on kites
before the advancement of technology and a more scientific approach.

was born in 1850 in Greenwich England. In 1872 he came to Australia in search of gold but the ship

research working into problems connected with human flight.

10. Racial Diversity In Movies
change. This is showing a failure in success for movie productions and TV shows because as time
goes by so do people who have higher expectations for Hollywood. People begin to see that they are
not showing enough diversity in movies or selecting Award winners that are from a different minority
that makes it lose thousands of people from watching the show which is a failure money wise. To
conclude, whitewashing has been another main problem in the Film industries as more movies come
out with more diverse characters they are not always played by the type of minority the character is
supposed to be.
Researchers have stated that if things were to change within the TV productions then maybe there
could be a change financially. There are many statistics that show that many shows and movies do not
seem to grow and researchers have stated that it could be because of the lack of diversity that many
people may get bothered by. However, the 25 movies with casts 21 to 30 percent Black/Latino/Asian
had by far the highest median global box office, at $160.1 million.
The next highest median global box office came from films with 11 to 20 percent
Blacks/Latinos/Asians, at $75.5 million. The 88 films with the least diverse casts had a median global
box office of just $68.5 million (Lin). This shows that if TV shows and movies were to change the
racial diversity in their shows or movies that they could possibly have a high positive effect instead of
continuing not to grow. The research

11. The Book Of Mark Is Not Written Down By Mark
This passage, unlike any other, is considered to be the start of Jesus path to the cross. In the scripture,
it tells of Jesus and his disciples going into the temple, after coming into the city. There they find
people trading and selling animals. Jesus reaction is unsettling to those who observed and leave them
marveled at his teaching. Jesus then questioned the temple about their intentions of their hearts. He
continued to ask, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations ?
(Mark 11:17, NRSV). When the priests heard of what had happened, they continued their search to
find a way to kill him. After the uprising had settled, Jesus and his disciples left the city. Although this
may seem like a random act on Jesus part, the encounter in the temple was so much more. The book of
Mark was physically written down by Mark, but tells of the memoirs from Peter. Mark was written
around 60 CE. At the time of the passage, the nation of Israel was suffering Gentiles. Because the
audience was mostly Gentile, Mark had to take the words of Peter and translate meanings in a way the
Gentiles would understand. Sadducees, one of the four sects of Judaism, were in charge and held the
official positions of Israel. This would stand, as long as they can keep peace among the city and
control the riots and uprights Jesus would eventually bring. Nero was ruler, a ruler very notorious for
crucifying christians. Mark was known for his intercalations, which

Well environmental contamination turns out can cost the owner of the property or a potential buyer.
Environmental contamination on a property may have some implication on the on the property value.
Not only could potentially hurt the owner or potential buyer financially it could also do physical
damage to the property as well.
As a property owner or potential buyer they must be aware of what environmental contamination can
do to the property. There can be a range of things from toxic waste, noise pollution, the quality of
water and condemned properties. The risk of toxic waste left on or contaminates a property could
cause the property to sell at a lower price compared to similar properties. These toxic in ... Show more

control, the right of exclusion, the right of enjoyment and the right of disposition. With the property

13. Coming Of Age Throughout Mississippi, By Anne Moody
Being born into a racially divided society, such as America during slavery and the decades after the
Civil War, does not mean that you are born with the knowledge of racism. Racism is something that
we are not born with and that we are raised to experience, follow, or fix. During the 19th century and
all the way up till mid 20th century, racism was one of the biggest issues in America. Former slaves
and anyone who had lived in America for some time, was aware of the racial tension that traveled
through the heart of the nation and only got worse the more south you go. In Anne Moody s
autobiography, Coming of Age in Mississippi, Moody s life is told through her eyes. It goes through
her childhood until her participation in the Civil Rights movement. One of the major parts in the book
is her slowly realizing the racial divide in America and the disadvantages that her skin color had come
with. All the racism Moody experienced as a child until she was an adolescent led to her decision to
become part of the Civil Rights movement. Growing up in rural Mississippi was a childhood filled
with racism, segregation, and intimidation. These came with every childhood, black or white.
Growing up in rural Mississippi as a black child just added more complications like disadvantages,
lower quality of life, the risk of being lynched, and many more horrors. This was the reality for Anne
Moody. Anne Moody was a young, black girl who grew up living with her father, mother and younger
siblings.

14. The Equal Opportunity Refinance Initiative
Foreclosure is a dangerous issue that has swept our nation in the last few years. Americans are losing
their homes due to jobs being lost, home values falling, and banks lending out more money than
homeowners can afford. Despite the multitude of issues that arise out of foreclosure, the main problem
at hand can be almost solely traced to the economy. The recession has put many people out of work,
made taking out loans more difficult, and has caused a nationwide panic. Therefore, to completely
solve the foreclosure problem, it is necessary to trace the issue back to its roots, being the economy.
This would take fifty pages to discuss, so this paper seeks to solve one aspect of foreclosure.
Refinancing is an option that has become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since this paper only touches upon the basics of this plan, it will only explain three priority groups
(keeping in mind that various subgroups can be created for a broader variety of situations). The
highest priority group (Group A) must meet the requirements that follow. Homes must have been
bought before January 1st, 2009, and the loans must have been financed by Fannie Mae or Freddie
Mac. Borrowers must be current on their payments, and must not have missed a payment for one year
before requesting the refinance. The group with the second highest priority (Group B) could have
purchased their home either before or after January 1st, 2009. However, if the loan was taken out after
the date, residents must wait one year (with no missed payments) to apply. Those who qualify for
Group B must not have any delinquencies yet, but they can have missed two payments at the most.
Therefore, while they do not have to be current on their payments, if they exceed missing two
payments, resulting in a delinquency, they must be eligible for Group C. This lower priority group
must have a delinquency, before or after the bank starts the process of foreclosure. This group would
need to be behind on their payments, missing at least three. While all of these groups are eligible for a
refinance, Group A will be able to refinance for the greatest volume of customers at the highest loan

15. Black Tailed Prairie Dogs Case Study
Discussion on Black Tailed Prairie Dogs LRS Black tailed prairie dogs (Cynomys ludovicianus)
demonstrated an improved long term reproductive success until a disproportionate ratio of helpers to
breeders (exceeding amount of helpers to breeders) became injurious to the coterie. In addition, we
observed an increased aggression (25% increase) in coteries with more helpers present than smaller
ones. Lastly, we found that there was more communication within coteries that contained an average
helper pool size than in smaller and larger helper pool size coteries. These factors may have created
the results that we observe, such as less competition and how much helpers aid breeders. Less
Competition Our results suggest the improved long term reproductive success is due to the number of
helpers remaining relatively small. We suppose that having fewer helpers lowers the need for
completion and increases communication among individuals within the coteries between individuals.
Competition creates among individuals for resources and causes evolution, yet competition can be
harmful where too much exists. In brown capuchin monkeys, larger ... Show more content on

This indicates that when the helper to breeder ratio becomes too high, the coterie becomes too
competitive, thus lowering the black tailed prairie dogs long term reproductive success. From our
observations, prairie dogs seemed more disgruntled when there were more helpers, which may have
been instrumental in lowering the long term reproductive success. This disgruntled behavior, which is
a 25% increase in aggression, includes increased biting of other adults in addition to continual
collisions with other members within the coterie. There are two possibilities for this increased
aggression: used in a way to regulate how much helpers help or caused by year

Hope is stronger than despair. The short story by Douglas Coupland contains 2 major themes: hope
and despair. Although despair is mentioned a plethora of times, hope is much more overriding. Hope is
the sole reason why the narrator has never lost the sensation of always being on the brink of some
magic revelation (p.1). He then goes on saying that if only I would look closely enough at the world,
then that magic revelation would be mine. This line shows that the narrator still believes there is a

game became quite fun. Just as the prior years, the first game had the easiest opponent to beat and my
team and I had no problem securing a victory against them. The second game was a bit more of a
challenge, but defeating that team was nothing we were not prepared for. The true challenge came in
the third and championship game. Although we enjoyed a bye game due to our two previous victories,
the other team had the advantage of some truly God gifted athletes. In particular, number seven was a

Technically, VPN extends the concept of Local area network, where the main LAN at the company
headquarters is connected to multiple LANs in different company locations and individual users
(Protocols, 2008). Most organizations develop an intranet, which is an internal network used only by
company employees. It allowed all the employees to have one single access point for company
resources and updates. Implementing a VPN allowed remote users to access the intranet from any
location or even their homes (Tyson Crawford, 2015).

21. The Aging Process Affects A Number Of Neurocognitive...
Introduction
It is well established that the aging process adversely affects a number of neurocognitive functions.
Increasing our understanding of the neurocognitive aging process remains a significant public health
issue. A large body of cross sectional data (Anstey, Lord, Williams, 1997; Anstey, Luszcz, Sanchez,
2001a; Anstey Smith, 1999; Baltes Lindenberger, 1997, 1997; Lin et al., 2011; Lindenberger Baltes,
1994; Salthouse, Hancock, Meinz, Hambrick, 1996) and longitudinal data (Anstey, Luszcz, Sanchez,
2001b; Lin et al., 2014) has demonstrated age related declines in sensory functions that often happen
in tandem with declines in cognitive ability. Age related declines in sensory functions also profoundly
affect quality of life (Carabellese et al., 1993). There have been a number of studies that have used
both cross sectional and longitudinal methods. In two cross sectional analyses of 77 (mean age = 50.5,
S.D. = 16.7) and then 127 participants (mean age = 45.9, S.D. = 15.5), Salthouse and colleagues
(1996) found that the relationship between sensory functioning (near visual acuity) and cognition
(working memory, associative learning, and concept identification) increased with age. With a similar
cross sectional approach, Baltes and colleagues (1997) analyzed data from two large age groups: a
younger adult sample (25 69 years, n = 171, mean age = 48.2, SD = 14.7) and an older adult sample
(70 103 years, n = 516, mean age = 84.9, SD = 8.66).

and/or patterns as a result of publicly available information and/or insider information. Unable to meet
the assignments original requirement due to a lack of positive stock surprises for the trading week of
12/26/14 to 01/02/15, the analysis focuses on negative stock surprises. In doing so, the analysis takes
into consideration and use of the efficient market Hypothesis (EMH), irrational trading behavior, and
technical analysis to identify trading patterns within the five day chart.
Efficient Markets Under the idea that markets are efficient, stock prices reflect new information
quickly and accurately. Furthermore, Morningstar (n.d.) contributes details on the strongest supportive
theory of efficient markets, EMH exists in three forms: weak, semi strong and strong. The hypothesis
calls for the existence of informationally efficient markets, were current stock prices reflect all

23. Summary Of FlandersArticle On Prostitution In Victorian...
Flanders article on prostitution in Victorian London focuses on the misinformation and
misconceptions surrounding sex workers of that era, especially focusing on how unreliable the
numbers involved can be. She approaches the topic with three main arguments in mind: the supposed
amount of prostitutes and the evolution of what defines a prostitute, how women are frequently
mistaken for prostitutes based upon their appearance, and the often looked over presence of male
prostitutes. Within her article she presents multiple primary sources including: diary entries discussing
encounters with prostitutes, letters detailing how women were leered at and the public s response to
such incidents, and even some authors. It is when she first introduces her argument as a whole that she
discusses the questionability of the reported number of prostitutes in Victorian London. Flanders first
begins by discussing the sheer numbers involved in what is known of prostitution in 19th century
London. That being said, what is recorded is not what one would refer to as an accurate depiction of
how commonplace prostitution was. Flanders takes a moment in the article to highlight a primary
source, that being in this particular instance a statement made by a police magistrate that claimed there
were 50,000 prostitutes in London (Flanders). She then explains that this number is likely inaccurate
as prostitution carried a broader meaning during that time period than it does today. Specifically, in

24. I Sit Before You A Self Proclaimed Sustainablatarian
I sit before you a self proclaimed Sustainablatarian. I ve come through a long list of food and lifestyle
choices and here is where I am today.
Many years ago, I heard someone say be true to yourself so I quit eating meat. I had wanted to for a
while, but it s hard to go against the grain; to do other than what our culture tells us is normal . When I
was growing up the hippies from the 60 s were still weirdo s so that s what I learned was the definition
of weird. Since those weird hippies were vegetarians I didn t want to be that. But sometimes it only
takes finally listening to something we ve heard a million times.
My choice was partially a dietary choice. I told myself that if I didn t eat the meat I would have to
supplement my diet was something and hopefully it would be healthier. And partially it was an ethical
choice. I had read Michael Pollen s article Power Steer among other things and knew about how
animals are treated and believe it to be wrong. I don t object to animals dying because that s part of the
cycle of life. Something has to die so the something else can live. I used to say I feel just as guilty
about the broccoli dying as the cow dying. I don t actually feel very guilty about either because I
believe it s the way Mother Nature set up our system.
Over time the dietary choice has melded with the ethical choice. It s healthier for me to eat food that
was raised healthfully. I m still choosing not to eat unhealthy foods and replacing

Indiana Dunes State Park One of Indiana s great state parks is the Indiana Dunes. I have been going to
the Dunes since I was a little kid. It s a fun experience and even a learning experience because there s
so much that makes up the dunes. Ever since I was a kid, I d always remember running up and down
the sand dunes along the beach and swimming in Lake Michigan. I m sure some of you can even
relate to this. One of the sand hills I remember running up is Mt. Baldy at 123 feet tall, the largest
sand dune along the southern shores of Lake Michigan ( Indiana Dunes ). Behind all the fun of the
sand dunes, it s interesting to know the geology of the Indiana Dunes State Park. Lake Michigan is a

The list ranges from dry prairies, terrestrial shrublands, wetlands, marshes, bogs, swamps, savannas,
lowland forests, upland forests, to wet prairies. The dry prairies consist of pure marram grass and sand
reed where mice, shrews, and squirrels are found. Terrestrial shrublands is the area between grass
covered dunes and forested dunes where you will find saplings of oak, basswood, and conifer trees.
The area where there s marshes, swamps, and bogs are all known as wetlands. Savannas also have oak
and conifer trees found in them too. This type of habitat is the breeding grounds for lupine and Karner
Blue butterflies. Lowland and upland forests are slightly different from each other. They each have
different types of plants found there. Lastly, wet prairies have a wide variety of grasses. The thickness
of the grass keeps the ground moist and provides homes for smaller animals. All of these habitats have
their own characteristics and helps make up the Indiana Dunes State Park ( Indiana

26. Analysis Of Baz Luhrmann
Baz Luhrmann Essay By Warwick Taylor Baz Luhrmann s directional style is not about naturalism.
Rather, Luhrmann uses his cinematic language, storytelling techniques and his belief in a theatrical
cinema to assure viewers that they are indeed watching a movie. In this essay I will tackle some
aspects of his movies in his red curtain trilogy, namely Strictly ballroom , Romeo and Juliet and The
Great Gatsby that indeed prove my topic statement. The setting of the movies is a clear indicator to the
audience that the movie that they are watching is indeed just that, a movie. The setting of Strictly
Ballroom is in Australia, but when the view thinks about Australia, the setting that comes to mind is
the Sydney Opera House, white beaches and long walkways. But in Strictly Ballroom we are greeted,
with small halls, dark alleyways and people struggling for money (something that we don t associate
with Australia at all). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes the viewer feel uneasy as it doesn t seem exactly like the place that one must visit for a
holiday, much less the setting for the most well known love story. The combination of the two makes
the viewer know at all times that they are indeed not a part of the movie. The setting for The Great
Gatsby is set in New York, the city of dreams. This is the setting that makes viewers feel most
comfortable as many would have gone there and seen many of the sites that are in the movie (Empire
State Building). However it is an unfamiliar New York mostly set in Long island, a place for the
wealthy. And the breaks between Long Island, the Valley of Ashes and central New York, are a
constant reminder that the viewer is not a part of the

27. How Electricity Is Produced By Using Coal
These days, most of us tend to take electricity for granted. If one were to be asked where it comes
from, you would most likely get responses from all over, with a common response being, Out of the
sockets in the wall! In this paper I will be giving a very brief overview of how electricity is produced,
specifically from coal.
Generating electricity requires a fuel source, and the fuel source for both EKP and DP L is coal. About
60% of the electricity nationwide is produced by using coal. Coal arrives mainly by a barge, but also
by rail and truck. Barges typically deliver around 1,500 tons of coal, which is enough to keep a plant
running for a couple of hours. A plant uses around 21,000 tons of coal each day, so over 1,000,000
tons of coal is stockpiled next to the plant. A device called a stacker reclaimer scoops coal onto a
quarter mile long conveyor that can transport up to 900 tons of coal into the plant each hour. Once
inside the plant, up to a thirty hour supply of coal can be stored in bunkers. Coal moves from the
bunkers to feeders to be measured and moved to pulverizers. Coal enters the pulverizer and spins in a
large drum where hundreds of steel balls grind it into a fine powder. Now a fine powder, the coal
leaves the pulverizers and heads to the boiler. About 335 tons of coal can be pulverized per hour.
Large fans add warm air to the powdery coal and blow it into the boiler. The boiler has miles of tubes
filled with high quality water. Once

beings to advance and seek new methods of life. These methods such as manufacturing may result in
emission of harmful substances to the immediate environment. My take is that the human race should
strive to make the world a better place by redeeming its natural state. Planting trees and adopting
environmentally friendly sources of energy. This is the only way to salvage the earth we are living in
today. Me: Do you think the internet is a major contributor to the high levels of moral decay
experienced today? Joyce: the internet is a necessary evil tool. It helps and destroys in equal measure.
I must admit that most of my work are propagated via the internet and through the platform I have
reached many souls. I suppose there is need to protect the young generation from exposure to
undesired content on the internet. Parents should be taught on the importance of controlling what their
children access (Meyer, 2006). That s the best we can do right now. Me: Lastly. How would you grade

30. Indie Music Research Paper
Alternative music is a subgenre of rock music, which emerged from indie music in the 1980 s, and has
since gained a lot of popularity. The word alternative in the dictionary translates to unconventional,
uncommon, and non standard, which is so cool because all the music is under the same genre
umbrella, but none of the bands sound the same at all, and I like to think of it as the melting pot of
music. Since each band has a different style it is likely you ll be able to find something you enjoy. It
originated from bands who didn t have a major record label, and they instead signed to smaller labels
as that was much easier to do. The songs are so diverse which is nice because a lot of popular artists
music sounds the same. The lyricism of alternative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

problem for small indie bands is how hard it is for them to find their footing without local support, and
local record stores to share their music (Kruse). Record stores are great places for you to find
information about upcoming concerts, find old records, and discover new bands. A popular concert
venue in Salt Lake is actually located at a small park downtown and every Thursday night in the

Enhancing Student Learning through Formative Assessment

32. Of Selfishness In Lord Of The FliesAndJulius Ceaser
Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative
altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness. In this quote, Martin Luther King, Jr., expresses
how a person has a decision between selflessness and selfishness, and that their decision predicts the
way they live. The choice of walking in, the light of creative altruism, allows a person to live a life
with little harm due to their selfless ways. However, a person s choice of walking in, the darkness of
destructive selfishness, will bring them many struggles and devastations throughout their lifetime.
Therefore, based on the person s actions, they will follow either a path of hardship or ease. Similarly,
in William Golding s, Lord of the Flies, and Shakespeare s, Julius Ceaser, the characters choose
between a selfless or selfish lifestyle. This decision is made through their intentions of killing to help
themselves or to benefit the lives of their group. In both the book, the character, Jack Merridew, and in
the play, the characters, Brutus and Cassius, all choose to kill with the goal of helping their groups.
Although the character s notions are right, there are hidden feelings of jealousy resulting in crimes that
are for their own good.
To further illustrate, in William Shakespeare s, Julius Ceaser, his character, Marcus Brutus, believes
that his choice to kill Ceaser is for the good of Rome. In the play, Cassius convinces Brutus that
