Omnivore s Dilemm The Future Of Organic Farming
An arising food category in America is anything organic. Over the years, several local grocery stores
organic section is rapidly increasing. Michael Pollan, who wrote Omnivore s Dilemma, is a New York
Times bestselling author. Pollan stated, Forty years ago there was no such category as organic food.
Today it is a $20 billion business the fastest growing part of the food industry. (112) With organic
farming becoming more common, there are many changes being made that are resulting in significant
outcomes. One of the substantial changes while using organic farming is the improved treatment and
health of animals. Further knowledge and awareness of the importance on how organic farming is
better for the lives of animals, as well as our health is needed. Gaining more education on animals
lives with organic farming, will potentially lead organic food becoming the most popular because of
its remarkable outcomes.

She stated that the management of organic livestock is based on five freedoms,
1) Freedom from malnutrition; 2) Freedom from thermal and physical discomfort; 3) Freedom from
injury and disease; 4) Freedom from fear and distress; and, 5) Freedom from unnecessary restrictions
of behaviour (Gill). Industrial farmers do not care for their animals like organic farmers do. Most
industrial farmers only farm for the profits in selling their products. Animal welfare is one of the most
important objectives of the organic farmer (Gill).
The sooner the world realizes that organic farming has many for effects on a variety of different
categories other than just how the foods are simply healthier for us, the easier organic farms will
become the more common form of farming. Overall, organic farms have an extraordinary amount of
benefits for many animals total health and treatment. They can easily be classified as a higher quality

Compare The Reaction Between Tert-Butyl Chloride And Alkyl...
The data reveals that reactions occurred in all four test tubes. This means that all four test tubes turned
out to be positive reactions. The data collected regarding the reactions did not meet the expectation.
The expectation was that two out of the four tubes would yield a reaction. To be specific, the
expectation was that only one of the first two tubes would have a reaction, and only one of the second
two tubes (tubes 3 4) would have a reaction. This was the expectation because the goal of the reactions
was to verify the structure of the alkyl halides. The structure of the tert butyl chloride and
chlorobutane were in question. If they reacted with NaI, it could be concluded that they were primary
alkyl halides. If they reacted with AgNO3, it could be concluded that they were tertiary alkyl halides.

AgNO3 easily undergoes reactions with tertiary alkyl halides (SN1). The four tubes should not all
have undergone reactions because that would give an unclear indication whether or not the alkyl
halides were primary or tertiary. Two tubes were supposed to undergo reaction and two should not
have. It is likely that the error that made the extra two test tubes react was contamination. If the test
tubes contained traces of both solvents, it would be possible that the alkyl halides would react in all
the test tubes. This is because the alkyl halide would react with its preferred solvent, even if the
solvent is present in small quantities. This contamination could have been due to using the same
pipette to transfer the solvents. It also could have been possible that the test tubes used were not
properly cleaned and still contained traces of

Critical Analysis Of The Abolition Of Budgeting
Critical Analysis of the Abolition of Budgeting
Budgeting is a main instrument of management control for most organizations systems. Recently it is
a controversial phenomenon, the disappointment with budgeting is occurring. This is because some
people find that budgeting processes are time consuming and often lead to dysfunctional behavior.
Additionally, they make organization fail to be flexible in such an uncertain financial environment.
Many people think traditional budgeting systems should be abolished, but others wish to improve
them. Hope and Fraser (2003b) provide a few examples of European companies that have abolished
traditional budgeting systems successfully. On the other hand, Eckholm and Wallin (2000) observe

Thus, under the pressure to improve performance, subordinates may force performance through
engage some short term actions, which may result in earning manipulation, breakdown in corporate
ethics or outright fraud. In a company that applies traditional budgeting, teams are fighting with each
other for customers and resources, which leads to discourage of information sharing. Hope and Fraser
(2003b) maintain that budgeting impedes information sharing and slow the responsibility of market
information. In addition, without budget targets, subordinates would report or make more effort on
some abnormal market information they collect instead of simply hide them. The reporting of that
abnormal information may help the company adjust their business strategy, and avoid shortcomings
(Hope and Fraser, 2003b).
Conversely, Libby and Lindsay (2010) suggest that in their survey sample, in terms of the efforts put
on achieving budgets targets, there are 52% and 71% of respondents in Canadian and US respectively,
which indicate that the emphasis is high. In respects of the relevance of the use of fixed performance
contracts, there are only 12% of respondents in Canadian and 17% respondents in US agree that
financial performance is strictly compared to the predetermined target and no commission for changes
during the competitive period. In other words, the fixed performance contracts are not as highly
relevant as what Hope and Fraser suggested. In terms of information sharing,

Waxco Executive Summary
Waxco has been manufacturing janitorial supplies in the rural district of Lacon, Mississippi for 25
years. Prior to Waxco s arrival, the businesses in Lacon were traveling 70 miles round trip to purchase
cleaning products. Waxco did not offer better pricing, nor did they pitch sales gimmicks; their
competitive advantage was a much needed delivery service. If the company requesting service from
Waxco operated within a 15 mile radius of the warehouse, delivery was free and estimated at 20
minutes. Any company up to 15 miles outside of the aforestated coverage area was assessed a fee. As
of late, Waxco has been accumulating negative feedback on its delivery service. The 20 minute
expected time of arrival has extended to more than 45 minutes. Using the 7 tools of quality, Waxco
can pinpoint the source of the cause and issue a remedy for the delivery setback. The 7 tools of
quality, provide a simple, yet strong method for collecting, analyzing and visualizing information from
various views (Schule, 2014). The tools consist of the following items:  Flow Chart  Run Chart 
Process Control Chart  Check Sheet  Pareto Diagram  Cause and Effect Diagram  Scatter

light on issues within the process (Lotich, 2015). Writing down the step by step procedures from the

picture of where the glitch is in delivery. Looking at each stage in written form versus giving a verbal

Massive weight loss is a huge decision, most of you reading have either gone through a massive
weight loss or are contemplating going through a massive weight loss. One of the most common
hesitations in losing weight is the resulting loose skin that occurs once your body has gone through a
significant weight loss. It is common knowledge that losing weight = loose skin. Loose skin not only
occurs with a massive weight loss but also with natural body occurrences such as pregnancy. This is
because once your body stretches through weight gain or through pregnancy; your skin loses its
elasticity. First patients come in to talk about weight loss and bariatric surgery, how it works and your
results. Many patients, however, decide they want to go the less expensive and natural way by strict
diet and exercise but are concerned about the loose skin. Our doctors always tell patients to be
realistic, being healthy is far more important than having loose skin. Even when you have loose skin
after weight loss there are ways to remove it such as post bariatric surgery which includes tummy
tucks, breast augmentations, and thigh lifts. The loose skin, although it may not seem like it, is a proud
reminder of how far you ve come and if you take that extra step to remove the loose skin, your body
will be an entire trophy dedicated to yourself. In this post, we will see why and where that extra skin
came from and how to reduce or remove it.

How Immigration Changed America
Grace MacCallum Period A FAA USH Mr Picillo Gilded Age Research How Immigration Changed
America Post Civil War During the late 1800s, inhabitants from all parts of the world made the
decision to leave their jobs and homes to immigrate to the United States. They fled rising taxes,
famine, crop failure, land and job shortages, to come to the United States. Perceived to be one of the
greater countries for economic opportunity, many sought freedom from religious and political
persecution. Around twelve million immigrants arrived in the United States between 1870 and 1900.
Before the Civil War, the majority of immigrants were from Germany, Ireland, and England. There

Economically, they filled a significant need for cheap labor in booming American industries. The large
numbers of immigrants helped keep labor cost down for Big Business and different groups were often
put against each other in competition for the cheapest workers. Politically, different immigrant groups
became active members of various labor organizations and unions, pushing to change pro business
laws and establish regulations governing working conditions and wages. And socially, American
culture as it is known now was formed by this influx of immigrants. People from all over the planet
brought with them not only their labor but also their cultures, helping to contribute to the mosaic that
is the American way of life. These immigrants, as shown by the prejudice and discrimination directed
towards them, were not always welcome. In economic hard times, immigrants were blamed for job
shortages and family hardships, used as scapegoats for larger problems. Nativist movements were
directed against the Chinese, Japanese, Italians, and others, especially during the 1880s and 90s. As
evidenced by the Chinese Exclusion Act and later legislation that limited immigration from Japan and
other regions, this anti immigrant sentiment went as high up as the nation s capital. This history was
simply a repeat of the nativism and hatred directed against the Irish and Germans of the 1840s and
1850s and is similar to that experienced in America today by immigrants from Mexico and Latin
America. In the area of immigration, history repeats

Artist Activists of African Descent For change to take place, there must be a call for action. Someone
has to stand up and demand that a way of thinking or a set of laws be changed. Those who bring
attention to the problems at hand, and who demand for change to take place, are called activists. The
term activist means a doctrine or practice that emphasizes direct vigorous action especially in support
of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue. (Merriam Webster Dictionary) Activists are

Environmental maintenance and integration of health standards are a global concern every living
human being must put into consideration in their day to day activities. Ideally, over 25 percent of the
world s registered deaths and reported diseases can be attributed to the inherent environmental factors
which are diversified with far reaching consequences. Moreover, the contemporary interventional
research outcomes on environmental sanitation around the globe depicted the benefits prioritizing of
proper environmental control strategies. These appropriate environmental strategies are aimed at
exposing the hazardous health related issues that have continued to rampage humanity. Therefore, this

The Family Tree Of Zoroastrianism, Judaism, And Christianity
This week we read about the family tree of Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity. These three
religions offer a beautiful perspective of evolutionary religious development, while still representing
independence of faith way.
Zoroastrianism is an ancient religion from Ancient Iran with a current following of 124,000 to 190,000
practitioners left, although it is believed that for roughly 1000 years it was the reigning faith practice
of the Iranian empire. Zoroastrianism was founded by Zarathushtra, a trained Indo Iranian priest and
mystical seeker. Zoroastrianism was possibly the first monotheistic religion and known in Iran as
Mazdayasna the worship of the Wise Lord, Ahura Mazda (1). The God of Zoroastrianism was Ahura
Mazda the creator god , (1) Ahura Mazda was surrounded by angelic presences manifesting six
attributes of the divine (1). It is believed that these attributes were separate deities at one point and that
Zarathushtra molded these to fit hit monotheistic belief system. While Zoroastrianism greatly
influenced Judaism and Christianity (as well as Hinduism), yet ritualistically the practices differ such
as The devout will often dip their finger into water, apply it to their eyes and forehead...it is a great sin
to pollute water...Zoroastrians regard the natural world with profound reverence and are taught from
childhood to avoid defiling it.(2) As previously mentioned Zoroastrianism greatly influenced a

The Case Of Salron V. Salomon Co Ltd.
PART A
The issue is whether Mr Kenneth Lay is liable to contribute to the company s debts or not.
Mr Lay is a separate legal entity under s.16 (2) Companies Act 2006. This is similar to the case of
Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd (1897) where Mr Salomon was held to be a separate legal identity from
the company. However, according to company law there are exceptions in which the court is willing to
lift the corporate veil. The court will lift the corporate veil where certain circumstances occur such as
fraud, improper or wrongful acts.
Mr Lay gambled away all of the company s assets and reserves which is a wrongdoing under s.361
Insolvency Act 1986. He knew that there was no reasonable prospect of avoiding insolvency as the
company was bankrupt and failed to minimise the potential loss to the company s creditors. Therefore,
s.214 (2) IA 1986 applies in this case and the court may declare that Mr Lay is to be liable to
contribute to the company s debts as this is a wrongful trading under s.214 IA 1986. This is similar to
the case of Brooks v Armstrong (2015) where the three principle conditions for wrongful trading were
outlined. Furthermore, he carried on business affairs with no intent to pay the company s debts and for
fraudulent purposes. This is an offence under s.993 CA 2006 and s.213 IA 1986. This is similar to the
case of Contex Drouzhbu Ltd v Wisemen And Another Ca (2007) where the representation was made
fraudulently as the director knew the company was insolvent and

she advises him that the fish has the ability to grant wishes and sent her husband back to wish for a
better place to live. The water as well as the surroundings changes each time the desirous wife forces

water. The flounder implored the fisher to release him implying that he does not taste good. Feeling
sympathy, the fisherman released him; however, when once he returned to the fisher spot suggested by
his wife, the water changed to two different colors: yellow and green. The fisherman summoned the
flounder caught earlier with the following chant: Mandje! Mandje! Timpe Te! Flounder, flounder, in
the sea! My wife, my wife Ilsebill, Wants not, wants not, what I will. For each wish, the water changes
to different colors and conditions: Purple dark blue as well as gray and dense, dark grey and becoming
violent with a foul smell, black and dense with a strong wind, red sky with little blue in the middle
including roaring water occupied by tossing ships with distress signals and lightning, and a pitch black
sky with dark waves as hell as a mounting. In the second translation, the fisher uses a different chant
to summon a large flounder: Flounder, flounder in the sea, Come, I pray thee, here to me. For my wife,
good ilsabil, Wills not as I d have her will. The difference from the previous version is that the water
produces bubbles as it roars when the fisherman came back to the flounder wishing for the wife to be
an emperor and ships were shooting guns as well as leaves falling during the fisherman s trip to the
water to wish the wife to be a pope. In the video adaptation version of the story, the fisherman made a
chant that differs from the previous versions: Flounder, flounder in the sea, come I pray thee here to
me, for my good wife, Penelope, wishes what she should not be. In this adaptation, the flounder has
gold and silver scales. The sea became green and thick which boils from bellow as the fisherman

revolutionized the world of publishing (The Printing Press, 2005). Since then, hundreds of word

kinds of fonts stick in a person s memory over others (Dizikes, 2013). The concepts of how memory
functions, how the brain processes information and how font and memory are connected in
psychology are essential to better understand this idea. The nervous system consists of three main

The short term memories are stored in the hippocampus, the long term are stored in the cerebral
cortex, and the flashbulb memories are stored in a special part of the cerebral cortex called the
amygdala (Young 2010; Hamzelou, 2011). Short term memory can hold seven items of information
for fifteen to twenty seconds. Information that was received verbally and information that was
received visually are kept in different places in short term memory. To make the most of the limits of
short term memory, the brain chunks two to three facts into one unit of information. Long term
memory, however, is stored by significance and meaning rather than the sequence in which they were
received. The two kinds of long term memory are implicit and explicit memories. Implicit memories
are unconsciously remembered, like how to open doors. Explicit memories are consciously
remembered. There are three types of explicit memory: episodic, semantic, and declarative.
Episodic memories are memories of events that took place, like a memory of attending a party.
Semantic memories are facts, figures, and general knowledge, like the capital of France. Declarative
memories are of people, places, and things, such as names and faces (Foster, 2011; Greenberg, 1987;
Fields, 2005).
Both long term and short term memories travel between neurons, as does any memory. The structure
that enables a connection between the neurons is called a synapse. Short term memory has temporary

The Parramatta River is located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. According to the Parramatta
River Catchment Group (2016), it has around 19km in length, 220km of waterways in its catchment
and 257 km2 of catchment area. His estuary covers 12km2, is influenced by tidal movements, is in a
constant state of flux, the freshwater from the river s tributaries change the chemical composition of
the water on a daily basis and it takes 3 to 4 months to completes water exchange.
The pollution of Sydney Harbour, its tributaries and catchment began when the Europeans arrived at
the region, in 1788. However, was just in the XIX century, when the urbanization and industrialization
processes took place of the Sydney area that most of the water contamination ... Show more content

1.2. Intervention Strategies
The main intervention proposes, as mentioned by Montoya(2015) to reduce the concentration of
dioxins in the Parramatta River is the 2002 Environmental Impact Statement which has proposed to
remediate the Unioon Carbide/Lednez site and parts of Homebush Bay, reducing the dioxins levels.
But to remediate the whole Sydney Harbour, the actual strategy being adopted is to wait until the
dioxin settles in the bottom of the Sydney Bay and it gets covered by sediments
The dioxins are dispersed into a big area of Sydney Harbour. The main responsible processes for the
spread of dioxins were the aerial deposition of dioxins that were produced as a by product of
combustion of pesticide production. Other mechanisms are the transportation of dioxins that were
contained in soil sediments by the stormwater, and the dispersion of dioxins when wind driven waves
resuspended them and the spring tidal currents transported them to other locations.
1.1. Persistence Factors
Dioxins are stable chemicals compounds, and persists in living beings. They can persist in the tissue
of animals, and persist over the food

High School Sports Essay
Competitive sports play a large role in many high schools. In high school I played every sport;
Football, Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming, I even Wrestled. High school sports over
the past couple of years have become increasingly difficult to keep up with due to the vast amount of
preparation you re expected to do. Most recognize that the Pro s and the NCAA have gone too far with
there s willingness to win. That do whatever it takes to win mentality kills from the game in my
opinion.
High school sports on the other hand are still a classic battle of one s rivalry against another in shaggy
glory. They give us hope that something in sports is still unsullied and restores our faith in the family
values. Though in some places ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this book the Permian high school football team would spend close to $70,000 on charted jet trips
to away games and building a high school football stadium that seated nearly 20,000 and costs roughly
around $5.6 million. Though my high school did not spend nearly as much for any of those things we
did build a wrestling room for our wrestling team, space that could ve been used to create about 5
classrooms. That would ve shrank the class room sizes so students would have a better learning
experience instead of the 31:1 student teacher ratio there was when I was a senior.
A school that recently spent a massive amount of money toward athletics in St. Anthony s high school
located in South Huntington, New York. They just build a 140,000 square foot field house. The
student center will feature a 200 meter indoor track, a multipurpose center court, a weight room,
locker rooms and a team store. It also will include classroom space for chorus, band, orchestra and
dance. The cost for this field house you ask? 41 million Dollars, Money that could ve been used to
acquire better teachers or lower tuition the school. The arguments for these sport centers are simple;
the football programs are not just self sustaining but they also support other sports, these are stadiums
the community wants so there s no harm, particularly when there privately financed. If my school
spent that much money to build a field house like that I m pretty

Billfish
The general term billfish describes a number of species of long, predatory fish characterized by long,
sword like bills. It includes sailfish and swordfish. They are generally exploited for both food and
game. Swordfish, in particular, are prized for their firm, tasty flesh. While the long beaks have been
observed in anger to spear objects such as small boats, their main function is to stun prey.
Different Lures For Blue Marlin
Artificial lures, live and natural bait have all been successfully employed to capture the blue marlin.
The most popular technique seems to be artificial lure fishing, which was developed in Hawaii.
Among the earliest artificial lures were chrome towel rails tied with strips of rubber taken from inner
tubes. Four or more such lures are fastened together and trolled behind boats at speeds of between 7
and 15 knots.

Mindfulness Practice For Enhancing Educational Outcomes
Introduction Mindfulness practice has received immense attention in recent years. Specifically,
mindfulness practice has been explored by professional athletes, from organizations attempting to
improve productivity, and even politicians for stress reduction. Nevertheless, educators have begun to
explore mindfulness practice effectiveness for enhancing educational, emotional, and behavioral
outcomes for students. Fundamentally, mindfulness practice is established on spirituality principles
that teach attention focusing. Moreover, the technique facilitates open communication regarding
emotions and feelings. Thus, mindfulness practice aims to silence distractions of the mind while
enhancing awareness. As a relatively new practice, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, a student making an offensive remark can disrupt the entire class as students start to
laugh. Nevertheless, mindfulness practice is unique as it focuses on emotional and awareness support
for students. Similarly, teachers can benefit from mindfulness practice as it allows them to establish an
effective buffer from distracting and stressful experiences. Thus, mindfulness practice can be valuable
for ensuring classroom focus remains on teaching and obtaining educational outcomes. While
mindfulness practice is relatively new in education, a magnitude of research has overwhelming
demonstrated how psychological wellbeing impacts educational outcomes. Specifically, research has
revealed that negative environments and feelings can lead to decreases in academic performance and
achievement (Singh et al., 2007). Examining mindfulness practice is important because it relies on
principles to improve emotional regulation, attention awareness, and learning focus. It is practical to
assume that enhancement in these areas will lead to a variety of classroom benefits. In addition to
educational benefits, the student and teacher will obtain personal growth as their psychological
capacity will be increased. Ultimately, the program is being proposed for schools as it promotes
emotional and social skill development, which will subsequently enhance teaching and learning
outcomes. The significance of the program is based on evidence that indicates children and youth

Impact Of India On The Environment Of Bangladesh
Introduction:
Bangladesh is one of the third world developing country. For developing further this country needs
more energy production. Right now for this country the biggest energy needed is electricity. The
reason of electricity needed is that the most of the equipments which are used for developing are
running by electricity. So it is really a big issue for Bangladesh. To fulfill the continuously increasing
demand for the electricity the government of Bangladesh taken a plan to establish a new proposed
power plant in Rampal which will be run by burning coal. This power plant will cause many types of
impact on environment in Bangladesh. In this assessment we will try to look the technical / political /
managerial triangulation on this power plant and recognizing more equitable, resilient and adaptive
strategies for developing this power plant more eco friendly.
Technical prospective:
A coal based power plant basically burns coal to produce electricity as a power or energy. Coal is an
one form of fossil fuel. In many developing countries this kind of power plant creates electricity as
power or energy. In this types of power plant converts heat energy of combustion into electric energy.
Waste energy is released to the environment by using cooling tower with river water as its cooling
medium. The flue gas from the combustion of fossil fuel is released to the air. This flue gas contains
CO2 with water vapor, also other substances like NO2, SO2, Mercury, various types of

Why Guns Should Be Banned
Is it time to ban guns? Yes guns must be banned because they are the causes of many deaths amongst
the people of the U.S today. Gun violence result in fifty percent of today s tragedies. Handguns causes
too many deaths, the government need to make gun less accessible, and the law enforcement need to
really enforce the laws they make. First, and foremost many handguns have claimed the lives of too
many people. This is a very serious issue we must tackle globally not just in the United States. 1.7
million children live with unlocked, loaded guns. Gun violence is the third leading death among young
people. 1 out of 5 guns are unfortunately sold without a background check (Beckett). And not to
mention Guns also increase suicide rates in the U.S Every week a school shooting occurs in the U.S

Sandy Hook Elementary school, 28 children shot, these incidents were just a couple of the deadliest
mass shootings in the US. In 2012 Dedrick Owens age Six opens fire at Kayla Rolland. This shows
me that we should make the laws more strict and makes more gun policy with a kid even touching a
gun And or having the gun in a place where a child could reach it. More than 75 percent of first and
second graders know where their parents keep their firearms and 36 percent admitted handling the

interpreted literally and/or figuratively. One example is from the first book titled, Recalled to Life ,
which talked about saving Lucie Manette s dad, Dr. Alexander Manette, from the Bastille that he was
kept in for eighteen years. Dr. Manette used to have a happy and peaceful life, but when he was
imprisoned, he became mentally ill. However, when Lucie entered his life, he gradually went back to
his old self. Here, Lucie, in a way, brought him back to life or resurrected him. Another example is

Religion In American Crisis By Thomas Paine
Religion is a necessity to life, as backed up by Thomas Paine s American Crisis. Paine has had quite
the history revolving around the American government, as he wrote Common Sense, a best seller that
offered a rhetorical view about why the colonies should split from Britain. However, he then decided
to write American Crisis in order to offer his unique but logical view on religion and how everyone
should go about deciding what they worship. His idea was that religion is necessary in order to live
and keep one s morals straight, however widespread religion are corrupting and brainwashing
everybody, so everyone should have their own religion in the church of their mind. Paine states
throughout American Crisis that he believes that religion

Have you seen or heard the news lately? Radioactive waste water contamination... Contracts for the
disposal of radioactive waste... Nuclear sites and dumps leaking... Cancer and Death by Radiation...
What is all this? More importantly what is radioactive waste?
Radioactive waste. What is it? Radioactive waste is what the name says it is; radioactive and waste.
Basically, it is anything that has been exposed to a radioactive nuclear substance and is not in use of
anyone anymore so it is declared as trash. Also bear in mind that any definitions or information varies
in different countries. Now, there are many different types of waste, ranging from the least amount of
hazard to the greatest amount of hazard. The ones with the least amount of radioactivity tend to have
shorter lives. They decay in less than 30 years and are called, short lived . The ones with a greater
amount of radioactivity perish in more than 30 years and are called, long lived . Let s break these
types of wastes into three parts. Low level waste (LLW), Intermediate level waste (ILW), and High

The Era of Wonderful Nonsense
The 1920 s is sometimes referred to as the Roaring Twenties, or The Era of Wonderful Nonsense. The
nonsense this phrase is referring to is the style and boldness of the new kind of rebel: the flapper. In
the 1920 s the flappers shocked everyone and set the path for other people who yearned to stand out
and be different. The flappers certainly contrasted the generation before them, but that did not happen
overnight. There are many reasons credited as to why flappers started rebelling, but one of the major
ones was WWI. The women decided that most of the eligible bachelors were dead or at war, meaning
that there were not enough men to go around. When those men had gone off to war, they left their
jobs, meaning that someone had to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these things were so improper that women were arrested for smoking in public even though
smoking was not illegal. Flappers took every chance they could to make things scandalous. The style
of flappers was one of the most controversial things about them. Before the Roaring Twenties, dresses
that went above the middle of the calf muscle were unheard of, let alone just below or just above the
knee. These new dress lengths horrified older generations. Along with the dress, she would wear a step
in, a single piece of lingerie that took the place of the stiff boned corset (Gourley 62). Because of this,
the flappers could maneuver more freely. The dresses were not the only reason for this. Another new
concept the flappers shocked the world with was short, bobbed hair. Long hair represented elegance
and respect, but flappers had no time for elaborate hairdos (Fashion . . . through the Ages 1). Many of
them would wear their hair in small waves called marcels, named after the man who invented them,
Marcel Greateau. Sometimes they would pin the hair back with another new invention called a bobby
pin, which is still in use today. The shorter hair added to the boyish look that the flappers wanted.
They would also wear newsboy caps and bras that made their chests look smaller, because big chests
were considered ladylike. The flappers liked to believe that they were the complete opposite of
ladylike. The center of attention was the desired goal. Everyone

Essay on Security and the OSI Model
Abstract The Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) model is a standard reference model for the
communication between two end users. Seven different layers make up the OSI model: physical, data
link, network, transport, session, presentation, and application. This paper will cover the type of
security that is associated with each level of the OSI model. Physical Layer The physical layer is
where the actual communication occurs between devices. The security of the physical layer pertains to
the actual hardware. The vulnerabilities of the physical layer include: • Power outage •
Environmental control loss • Hardware theft, damage or destruction • Unauthorized hardware

Weak authentication and encryption on a wireless network could allow for unauthorized connections
to the network, data and devices. Data link layer controls can be implemented to ensure the security of
the transmissions. By using MAC address filtering the stations are identified by not only the MAC
address but are cross referenced with the logical access or physical port. Firewalls should be between
layers, ensuring physical isolation from one another. Wireless application must be monitored
consistently and carefully for unauthorized access. In order to secure the wireless network, the use of
the built in encryption, authentication, and MAC filtering must be implemented with strong
passwords. Network Layer The third layer of the OSI model is the network layer. This layer is
responsible for end to end packet delivery. The network layer issues request to the data link layer and
responds to requests from the transport layer and issues requests to the data link layer. The procedural
and functional process of sending different

Bank Of The New Edition Of Macbeth
In the political cartoon called by the name of New edition of Macbeth. Bank oh s Ghost a very ghastly
scene was unfolding. The primary context for the painting itself was the Panic of 1837 that occurred
just as Andrew Jackson was leaving office in 1836, leaving the venerable Martin Van Buren to fend
for himself in a mess not of his own doing. The Panic of 1837 was a consequence of many factors
sprawling from Jackson s election in 1828 to 1836. The first of these factors was the bank war
between the Jackson administration and the 2nd national bank of the United States created by the
market revolution in 1816. The bank symbolized the hopes and fears inspired by the market
revolution. The expansion of banking helped to finance the nation s economic development. But many
Americans, including Jackson, distrusted bankers as non producers who contributed nothing to the
nation s wealth but profited from the labor of others. The tendency of banks to over issue paper
money, whose deterioration in value reduced the real income of wage earners, reinforced this
conviction. Jackson himself had long believed the hard money gold and silver was the only honest
currency. Nonetheless, when he assumed office there was little reason to believe that the Bank War
would become the major event of his presidency.1 Page 388 of Give Me Liberty The Bank War and its

  • 3. Compare The Reaction Between Tert-Butyl Chloride And Alkyl... The data reveals that reactions occurred in all four test tubes. This means that all four test tubes turned out to be positive reactions. The data collected regarding the reactions did not meet the expectation. The expectation was that two out of the four tubes would yield a reaction. To be specific, the expectation was that only one of the first two tubes would have a reaction, and only one of the second two tubes (tubes 3 4) would have a reaction. This was the expectation because the goal of the reactions was to verify the structure of the alkyl halides. The structure of the tert butyl chloride and chlorobutane were in question. If they reacted with NaI, it could be concluded that they were primary alkyl halides. If they reacted with AgNO3, it could be concluded that they were tertiary alkyl halides. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... AgNO3 easily undergoes reactions with tertiary alkyl halides (SN1). The four tubes should not all have undergone reactions because that would give an unclear indication whether or not the alkyl halides were primary or tertiary. Two tubes were supposed to undergo reaction and two should not have. It is likely that the error that made the extra two test tubes react was contamination. If the test tubes contained traces of both solvents, it would be possible that the alkyl halides would react in all the test tubes. This is because the alkyl halide would react with its preferred solvent, even if the solvent is present in small quantities. This contamination could have been due to using the same pipette to transfer the solvents. It also could have been possible that the test tubes used were not properly cleaned and still contained traces of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reporting of that abnormal information may help the company adjust their business strategy, and avoid shortcomings (Hope and Fraser, 2003b). Conversely, Libby and Lindsay (2010) suggest that in their survey sample, in terms of the efforts put on achieving budgets targets, there are 52% and 71% of respondents in Canadian and US respectively, which indicate that the emphasis is high. If the company requesting service from Waxco operated within a 15 mile radius of the warehouse, delivery was free and estimated at 20 minutes. Any company up to 15 miles outside of the aforestated coverage area was assessed a fee. As of late, Waxco has been accumulating negative feedback on its delivery service. How Immigration Changed America Grace MacCallum Period A FAA USH Mr Picillo Gilded Age Research How Immigration Changed America Post Civil War During the late 1800s, inhabitants from all parts of the world made the decision to leave their jobs and homes to immigrate to the United States. They fled rising taxes, famine, crop failure, land and job shortages, to come to the United States. Perceived to be one of the greater countries for economic opportunity, many sought freedom from religious and political persecution. Economically, they filled a significant need for cheap labor in booming American industries. The large numbers of immigrants helped keep labor cost down for Big Business and different groups were often put against each other in competition for the cheapest workers. Politically, different immigrant groups became active members of various labor organizations and unions, pushing to change pro business laws and establish regulations governing working conditions and wages. And socially, American culture as it is known now was formed by this influx of immigrants. People from all over the planet brought with them not only their labor but also their cultures, helping to contribute to the mosaic that is the American way of life. These immigrants, as shown by the prejudice and discrimination directed towards them, were not always welcome. In economic hard times, immigrants were blamed for job shortages and family hardships, used as scapegoats for larger problems. Nativist movements were directed against the Chinese, Japanese, Italians, and others, especially during the 1880s and 90s. As evidenced by the Chinese Exclusion Act and later legislation that limited immigration from Japan and other regions, this anti immigrant sentiment went as high up as the nation s capital. Short term memory can hold seven items of information for fifteen to twenty seconds. Information that was received verbally and information that was received visually are kept in different places in short term memory. To make the most of the limits of short term memory, the brain chunks two to three facts into one unit of information. Long term memory, however, is stored by significance and meaning rather than the sequence in which they were received. The two kinds of long term memory are implicit and explicit memories. Implicit memories are unconsciously remembered, like how to open doors. Explicit memories are consciously remembered. There are three types of explicit memory: episodic, semantic, and declarative. Episodic memories are memories of events that took place, like a memory of attending a party. Semantic memories are facts, figures, and general knowledge, like the capital of France. Declarative memories are of people, places, and things, such as names and faces (Foster, 2011; Greenberg, 1987; Fields, 2005). The women decided that most of the eligible bachelors were dead or at war, meaning that there were not enough men to go around. When those men had gone off to war, they left their jobs, meaning that someone had to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these things were so improper that women were arrested for smoking in public even though smoking was not illegal. Flappers took every chance they could to make things scandalous. The style of flappers was one of the most controversial things about them. Before the Roaring Twenties, dresses that went above the middle of the calf muscle were unheard of, let alone just below or just above the knee. These new dress lengths horrified older generations. Along with the dress, she would wear a step in, a single piece of lingerie that took the place of the stiff boned corset (Gourley 62). Because of this, the flappers could maneuver more freely. The dresses were not the only reason for this. Another new concept the flappers shocked the world with was short, bobbed hair. Long hair represented elegance and respect, but flappers had no time for elaborate hairdos (Fashion . . . through the Ages 1). Many of them would wear their hair in small waves called marcels, named after the man who invented them, Marcel Greateau. Sometimes they would pin the hair back with another new invention called a bobby pin, which is still in use today. The shorter hair added to the boyish look that the flappers wanted. They would also wear newsboy caps and bras that made their chests look smaller, because big chests were considered ladylike. The flappers liked to believe that they were the complete opposite of ladylike. The center of attention was the desired goal. Everyone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Essay on Security and the OSI Model Abstract The Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) model is a standard reference model for the communication between two end users. Seven different layers make up the OSI model: physical, data link, network, transport, session, presentation, and application. This paper will cover the type of security that is associated with each level of the OSI model. Physical Layer The physical layer is where the actual communication occurs between devices. The security of the physical layer pertains to the actual hardware. The vulnerabilities of the physical layer include: • Power outage • Environmental control loss • Hardware theft, damage or destruction • Unauthorized hardware changes (i.e.; removable media, data connections) • Detachment ... This could result in data being intercepted by any device that is connected to the VLAN. • Stations could be force direct communication with other stations which ends up bypassing subnets and firewalls. • Weak authentication and encryption on a wireless network could allow for unauthorized connections to the network, data and devices. Data link layer controls can be implemented to ensure the security of the transmissions. By using MAC address filtering the stations are identified by not only the MAC address but are cross referenced with the logical access or physical port. Firewalls should be between layers, ensuring physical isolation from one another. Wireless application must be monitored consistently and carefully for unauthorized access. In order to secure the wireless network, the use of the built in encryption, authentication, and MAC filtering must be implemented with strong passwords. Network Layer The third layer of the OSI model is the network layer. This layer is responsible for end to end packet delivery. The network layer issues request to the data link layer and responds to requests from the transport layer and issues requests to the data link layer. The procedural and functional process of sending different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Bank Of The New Edition Of Macbeth In the political cartoon called by the name of New edition of Macbeth. Bank oh s Ghost a very ghastly scene was unfolding. The primary context for the painting itself was the Panic of 1837 that occurred just as Andrew Jackson was leaving office in 1836, leaving the venerable Martin Van Buren to fend for himself in a mess not of his own doing. The Panic of 1837 was a consequence of many factors sprawling from Jackson s election in 1828 to 1836. The first of these factors was the bank war between the Jackson administration and the 2nd national bank of the United States created by the market revolution in 1816. The bank symbolized the hopes and fears inspired by the market revolution. The expansion of banking helped to finance the nation s economic development. But many Americans, including Jackson, distrusted bankers as non producers who contributed nothing to the nation s wealth but profited from the labor of others. The tendency of banks to over issue paper money, whose deterioration in value reduced the real income of wage earners, reinforced this conviction. Jackson himself had long believed the hard money gold and silver was the only honest currency. Nonetheless, when he assumed office there was little reason to believe that the Bank War would become the major event of his presidency.1 Page 388 of Give Me Liberty The Bank War and its Results Therefore, the consequence of Jackson declaring war on the 2nd bank of the United States was in 1832 the head of the bank ...
