How Do Romeo And Juliet Make Hasty Decisions
Love is an overpowering force that dominates and influences the thoughts and actions of many
individuals. Some make good decisions, while others make poor decisions due to love. These choices
are made because of several types of love: romantic love, platonic love, and familial love. William
Shakespeare s Romeo Juliet showcases all the categories of love. In the play, many characters make
hasty decisions as they are caught in the storm of Romeo and Juliet s love lives. The love that they
hold for each other is also symbolized by meaningful objects in their lives.
The throes of love are portrayed between many characters in the play. The most dominant form of love
is the affection that Romeo and Juliet hold for each other. Romeo s infatuations

Mexican Men In The Bracero Jigsaw
The U.S. Government historically oppressed Latino Immigrants through exploitation of Mexican men
during the Bracero program, and discrimination through arbitrary sterilization of Latino women.
Mexican men were sent to U.S. to work as a remedy of the WWII and were mistreated and exploited
in the process. In the Bracero Jigsaw, the first reading explains that the Bracero program, signed in
1942 between Mexican and American governments, was created because the demand of the farm
works increased as a consequence of the WWII, this program allowed Mexican men to work in U.S.
with a legal permission, also was an opportunity for the U.S. Government to hire cheap labor. The
Bracero program was supposed to benefit Mexican and American people, however, the Mexican men
were exploited, sent to work in conditions that could affect their health. Miserable jobs that gave real
meaning to the term backbreaking labor. The work was done with instruments of horror... [that]
required the user to work in a bent over position and crawl along the dusty rows of beets for ten or
twelve hours a day ( Bracero Jigsaw ). Those workers were exploited working in an unsafe
environment. They had working days that would be unthinkable today, work in those conditions made
them more likely to suffer intense back pain and illness related to the long exposure to the sun. Also,
every workplace must guarantee fair working hours per day. Currently, a complete labor day must be

Essay on 5 Factors Affecting Inbound and Domestic Tourism
5 Factors affecting inbound and domestic tourism * Health, safety and security * Economic recession
in the UK * Exchange rates * Weather * Accessibility
Economic recession in the UK
When the UK economy is doing well, its pound sterling is strong. However, having a strong pound
actually discourage visitors from overseas because when they exchange their money in pound they
will be getting less money, so it make visiting UK expensive and it deter inbound visitor from visiting
UK.
Regardless to that when UK is in a recession the sterling is weak which means that overseas visitor
can get more pounds for their money and would find UK much more cheaper which encourage
inbound visitor to visit the UK. A recession ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

airlines and this increase traffic between Europe and the UK. This services increase outbound travel.
Accession to the EU has added to the appeal to new member states. Low cost air travel, including low
transatlantic fares, makes the UK more accessible to all.
Accessibility impact on visitor numbers as it makes it easier for people to travel to the UK. It also

The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative
RGGI Overview
The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a cap and trade initiative set to regulate and reduce
the emissions of greenhouse gases from power generating facilities with an electrical capacity equal or
greater than 25 electrical megawatts (RGGI, 2015). The drafting of this initiative started in 2003 when
Connecticut (CT), Delaware (DE), Maine (ME), Massachusetts (MA), New Hampshire (NH), New
Jersey (NJ), New York (NY), Rhode Island (RI), and Vermont (VT) showed interest in reviewing
greenhouse gas emissions and a cap trade coalition to address the emission from power plants in their
territory. In 2005, the above mentioned states with the exception of RI and MA signed a Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) that outlined the model rules for the program. Some of the topics outlined in
RGGI Model Rule include: the responsibilities of the account representatives, permitting
recommendations, monitoring requirements, compliance certification reports, control periods and
others. The Model Rules were also the building blocks used to develop state specific regulations
supporting the goals and actions necessary to succeed as a member. In 2007 MA, RI and MD also
signed the MOU (RGGI, 2015a; RGGI, 2015b). On January 1, 2012, RGGI lost one of its founding
members after the governor of NJ; Chris Christie withdrew NJ s support to the initiative. Throughout
its participation, NJ received over $100 million in revenues directly from the RGGI markets. (Christie,

Semplica Girl Diaries
In the story Semplica Girl Diaries by George Saunders the narrator speaks of various struggles his
family faces, where they are dragged into their society s conceptions with huge financial problems. He
begins writing a journal on September 3rd where he explains how he has set a project to write every
day for a whole year. The journal began by explaining the narrator s first altercation with society,
where he is picking up his kids and out of the blue the bumper of his car falls off. At this time, the
reader is introduced to two of his kids: Eva, who is the youngest, and Lily who is the oldest. The
reader learns that in a couple of days it is the older daughter s birthday and it is coming by fast. As the

It carries concepts that aren t so obvious to the naked eye unless the reader really puts much thought
and effort to understand what Saunder is trying to tell the reader. The first obvious one would be social
status. Right off the bat we can identify where all the groups fall in society. Starting from the Torrini s
who in the story are very wealthy and an upper social class. Then below them, we have the narrator s
family who are on the border of poverty, suffering financial problems and hard time in their life. Until
the father wins a ten grand scratch off. Rather than spending the money wisely by covering the debt he
has, he goes and blows it off recklessly on his daughter s birthday party by purchasing Semplica Girls
believing he is finally on the same fields of the wealthy. Which leads us to the final status which is
very poor. These were four girls that were completely living in poor conditions with families causing
them to sell themselves to provide money for their families. This in a way creates a certain connection
between the narrator and the Semplica Girls. As we read the story we learn that the father is constantly
worried about his family s well being, how they look and if they are happy or not. No matter the
amount of debt the father was facing or how bad it was for him to keep things in order he always
reassured his family that everything will be alright. Like

Are Pork Pigs Good Or Bad
Pork chops might look good on your dinner plate, but do you really know what you are eating? Pigs
are where we get pork chops. There are many things that happen to these pigs for us to have
something as simple as pork chops. Some things are just cruel, and some are just unbelievable, but it s
true. Of course there are the benefits and the risks, but which one weighs more? This is what you
decide.
To start off with, pigs need fifty square feet to live a healthy lifestyle, but in most pig farms in the US,
pigs only receive about only twenty square feet if they are in good conditions. Most mother pigs spend
majority of their lives crammed into metal cages. After mother pigs give birth, then they are moved
into cages only big enough to nurse their young, but too small for them to turn over. Once the piglets
are about one month old, they are torn from their mothers and crammed in a room filled with other
piglets. Male piglets get their testicles cut out when they are only ten days old. Pigs live in harsh
crammed conditions. They are forced to live in their own feces and vomit. Genetically manipulated by
enzymes, pigs grow faster than normal. Pigs are fed grains and seed oil to hire their omega six level
which also causes them to also grow at dangerously high levels. Americans eat ... Show more content

Pork chops come with the good and the bad. Something about how pork chops are produced is that the
pigs live in harsh conditions, and the food production affects the environment greatly creating many
issues. There is also the risk of cancer, heart disease, and bacterial infection through overconsumption.
Some good things about the consumption of this type of food are that we obtain many different
macromolecules like carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. Pork chops may have its benefits, but it also
comes with risks. Hopefully, in the future, there will be better solutions to these problems we face
today like overconsumption and environmental

The Effects Of Radiation Exposure On The Environment
Throughout history, populations have been affected by the devastating effects of radiation disasters.
Chernobyl in 1986 and Fukushima in 2011 are a few radiation disasters that will be highlighted.
Chernobyl could be argued as one of the worst incidents of radiation exposure to the general public.
Aspects of this paper include background on accidents, the effects of the radiation exposure, and the
impact of the population living within the areas. As well as the cost, not only economically but
environmentally. Much can be learned from these incidents on a government and individual level.
Governments need to understand the magnitude of such a disaster and how to help those affected
most. While individuals should be more aware of the dangers of radiation exposure and how their
living situations may put them at a higher risk. The public needs to be informed and educated on how
accidents like these affect their lives. Chernobyl was the largest uncontrolled radioactive release ever
recorded for any civilian operation. Chernobyl had four reactors, which were run on low power
making them very unstable. There was a huge power surge which increased the heat in reactor number
four. The increased heat set off a chain of events that couldn t be controlled. Pipes began to rupture as
well making the prefect condition for two major explosions. Most other nuclear power plants have a
containment enclosure, but Chernobyl did not. Since there was no enclosure this resulted in
radioactive

Exodus 20 Research Paper
Christians live their life by the word of God. They take the Bible and the contents within and hold the
contents as the guidelines by which they live their lives. The Bible, in Exodus 20, gives Christians the
Ten Commandments. Christians take the Ten Commandments and make those the foundation by
which they live their lives. The verses within Exodus 20 give Christians commands on how to live
their lives but, Exodus 20 is not the only chapter in the Bible that gives Christians commands that they
must follow. Later in the Bible, in Leviticus 20:27, the Bible says, A man or woman who is a medium
or spiritist among you must be put to death (Holy Bible). What this verse is saying is that anyone
involved in magic must be put to death. But does that truly mean anyone? The story of Harry Potter is
centered around magic which naturally fuels Christian opposition towards it, but underneath the magic
the story shares similar morals and guidelines that Christians align themselves with. This verse among
others has been the driving force of Christian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What was Professor Dumbledore implying by this? Professor Dumbledore was passing on his
knowledge, to Harry, that maybe life does not end with death. This goes along with the theme of some
type of immortality within the series because of the talking portraits or ghosts. What does the Bible
have to say about this? Well in 1 John 2:17 it says, The world and its desires pass away, but whoever
does the will of God lives forever (Holy Bible). Obviously no one lives on forever physically, so is
this verse implying that there is life after death spiritually? Christians would say yes to that question.
So the theme of spiritual immortality in the Harry Potter series isn t too far fetched then is it? The
answer is no. There is not even a debate about

The Importance of Language and Culture
The importance of language is a repeated trend throughout history. The lack of language weighs
negatively on an individual s intellect and the acquisition of language feeds the development of one s
cultural identity. The greatest historical conquest began in the realm of linguistic turmoil. Examples of
this are vast in the capturing of American Americans slaves, and injustice towards the Native
Americans on the home front. The captured people were taken from a variety of tribes speaking
different native tongues to insure communication barriers resulting in the slaves not being able to
overtake the ship or rally an uprising. The linguistic and cultural differences lead to the manipulation
of the semantics of agreements, which lead to many Native Americans to lose their land. The British
taken continentally instilled linguistic control over people from India to Southern Africa. British
forcefully mandated the educational system be taught in English therefore ultimately taking over the
languacultural acquisition of the continent of India s future. The pedagogy of language is connected to
perpetuation of culture, traditions, and social norms. The Deaf community is another example of the
importance of language acquisition throughout history. The impact of how a deaf child is educated
impacts more than that deaf child alone but also the future of the Deaf community and the
languaculture rich in American Sign Language. Classrooms mediate unique and diverse

Alabama Civil War
Journal Article Review #1 McCollum, C.
THE NEGRO IN ALABAMA DURING THE CIVIL WAR The hardships faced by the slaves during
and immediately following the Civil War were relatively the same as they had been prior to the war.
During the war, the only thing that changed for some was their Masters . The Governor of Alabama,
by an act of 1861, was authorized to accept the services of slaves offered by certain slaveholders and
in October the following year he was empowered to impress slaves between the ages of 18 and 45 to
use as laborers, essentially making the state their masters. Amendments to the afore mentioned act in
1864 enabled the sheriff to enforce this act. The slaves were used for building defenses in the state as
well as to take the place of whites who were enlisted and fighting the war. Some slaves accompanied
their owners into battle and a few free blacks served as substitutes for whites. By 1865, the
confederacy had decided to enlist slaves but the war ended before this plan could carried out. In 1863,
the Union Army in Alabama, employed the first Negro troops to be used mainly for fatigue duty but
they were used as line soldiers in a few minor battles. From January to October 1864, James T. Ayres a
freeman from Illinois served as the recruiter in north Alabama. While here Ayres learned just how

Star Wars Nonverbal Communication
Throughout the movie of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith you can see a plethora of examples of
interpersonal communication between the due of Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. The major
three that are seen throughout the film are conflict, emotions, and their nonverbal communication. The
conflict is the most serious compenment in this movie because you can sense the conflict that is
brewing, and when it explodes, it is massive. The conflict that is used in this film is what makes the
emotions of the film so exuberant. Then with these two characters being together as master and
apprentice in the two previous films of the trilogy their non verbal communication is key to their
relationship. Being able to have good interpersonal communication is key to any duo, and Obi Wan
and Anakin show that they have this chemistry.
A major concept throughout the movie is the conflict that goes on between the characters of Obi Wan
Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Described by Floyd (2017), as an expressed struggle between
interdependent [parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from one
another (p. 343). There are many characteristic of interpersonal conflict, a few include, conflict is
natural, conflict can direct and indirect, and conflict can be harmful and beneficial. Sex, gender, and
culture are just some of the many things that can affect an interpersonal conflict. Another major aspect
of conflict is power, which comes in many forms (Floyd, 2017).

Money Problems with Building the Railroads
In the late 1800, conflicts arose from farmers, workers, and railroad companies. These issues were
resolved by significant battles among them, but never had an affect on the railroads. The railroads
charged an extraordinary amount of money for transportation of products. This made farmers
extremely outraged, and made them use their money more wisely than spend it on the transportation of
their products. The railroad companies misused their money given by the government to gain profit of
off land grants. The competition led to workers going on strike for their budgets being cut. These
concepts show that railroads, in their wasteful competition, exploited farmers and workers because of
budget cuts, transportation of products, and rates.(Introduction, Timeline) Through the wasteful
competition of the railroads, workers began to lose support of their family and make a living. On page
9, in the text it states, When wages are cut, thousands of Pullman Palace Car Company workers go on
strike in Illinois. In sympathy, other railroad workers stop Pullman cars from moving. (Timeline) This
statement expresses the idea that George Pullman treated his workers with disrespect. When the great
depression occurred, George cut all workers pay by 25% to make more profit for his company. This
shows that he exploited the workers to make profit. Also, During the railroad competition, George
developed the General Manager Association. This association made him able to fire whoever he

The Radical Period of The French Revolution Essay
The Radical Period of The French Revolution
By the end of 1971, Europe was preparing to witness the end of a seemingly triumphant revolution in
France. The country was restructuring its government in a forceful and bloodless manner, while the
tyrant King
Louis the XVI agreed to the demands of the masses (albeit without much choice). However, due to the
fanatical aspirations of men such as Danton,
Marat and Robespierre,it would be only a matter of months before the moderate stage of social and
political reform was transformed into a radical phase of barbaric and violent force. In their quest for
freedom, equality and fraternity, the leaders of the Jacobins inadvertently turned the revolution into an
oligarchic dictatorship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moderate forces preferred to concentrate on the foreign affairs of new France, but the radicals insisted
on domestic stability first. Led by the popular
Danton and the merciless Marat, the Paris Commune discarded the old constitution and called for a
National Convention to begin work on a new, revised version.
The National Convention, divided by the moderate Girondins and the radical Jacobins, was the place
where the future of the country was to be eventually determined. It was the premise of the Jacobins
that they should eradicate the enemy within and secure the destiny of the revolution through the
destruction of counter revolutionary forces. They believed that by weeding out those who opposed the
revolution, they could achieve their goals quickly and efficiently. The Girondins were not so quick to
agree with the Jacobins, and so political deadlock begin to form in the
Convention. It was not until after the September massacres, when 1200 prisoners were executed
without trials, that Robespierre and his followers were able to justify their premise. They condemned
the actions of the unruly mobs that caused the deaths of innocent Frenchmen and demanded that the
Monarchy be abolished in order to eliminate as many of the royalists and monarchists that still
remained. It was Marat with his want 100,000 heads to fall speeches that convinced the masses that

Economic And Social Decay Of Detroit
Answer to question 1: As given, it is well known that Detroit has gone through decades of economic
and social decay and has one of the highest crime rates in the country. Meanwhile, Boston is home to
some of the top universities and medical schools in the world and has one of the lowest crime rates. In
order to investigate the above information, three socio economic characteristics have been chosen
here. They are median household income, per capita income and individual below poverty line. When
it comes, to assess the median household income, it is noted that median household income indicates
the average level of income per household. This also explores that there are equal number of
households that stay above this line and equal number of households that stay below this line. As
shown in the appendices, the median household income for Boston remains far above that in Detroit.
Therefore, it can be said that people that stay in Detroit are comparatively poorer, which enhance the
crime rate. Again, per capita income of individuals can be defined as the total income of the city
divided by its population. Therefore, a low per capita income indicates that there are either low
income level or the volume of population is high. Now, both the low income level as well as high
population directly related with crime rate. This is the reason, why in Detroit, the crime rate is
comparatively higher than in Boston. It is known that there is a positive relationship between the
social

Revolts In New England
Disputes over religion, land, and power ignited various revolts within New England. In Maryland and
Massachusetts, disagreements in religion caused many to protest. Around the 1650s, tensions between
Catholics and Protestants rose because both Puritans and Jesuits longed to impose their religion over
all others. Subsequently, in 1655, a civil war allowed Protestants to rule the government. Similarly, a

Comparison Between Thirteen Reasons Why And A Painted House
In both of the books, Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and A Painted House by John Grisham there
were one or more characters who portrayed signs of underachievement and became reconciled with
obstacles throughout the book. In A Painted House, the readers are introduced to a very young man by
the name of Luke Chandler, the protagonist in this story. Until that fall of 1952, Luke Chandler had
never told a single lie or kept a single secret. During the book we are shown time and time again
where Luke encounters things where he could potentially devastate lives and change his families and
towns fortune forever if he were to ever speak about them. The Chandlers farm eighty acres of cotton

The given mentioned research paper basically features the implementation of process improving Lean
Manufacturing methodologies especially Value Stream Mapping (VSM) in a auto part manufacturer
located in outskirts of Ludhiana, Punjab, India which has 300 employees and 0.33 million dollar
annual turnover. Now a days with ever increasing competition it has become Herculean task for
industries to manufacture wide range of products with world class quality atminimum wastage of
resources. The Lion s share part of research has been done on application of Lean Manufacturing tools
in large industries or organizations. But in most of the nations Small and Medium Enterprises(SME)

An Evaluation Of The Economic Benefits And Ethical Issues...
Working Title
Population control: an evaluation of the economic benefits and ethical issues of population control
through the use of eugenics
Background
The topic of population has been prevalent in the study of economics but particularly since Thomas
Malthus published his book Essay on the Principle of Population (1798). Malthus was the first
economist to propose a systematic theory of population. Malthus proposed in his book that humans
grow exponentially whereas the food supply grows at an arithmetic rate. This scenario of arithmetic
food growth with simultaneous geometric human population growth predicted a future when humans
would have no resources to survive on. To avoid such a catastrophe, Malthus urged controls on
population growth.
Economically there are two approaches to the debate on how much the human population can grow.
One debate is the natural science approach which is adopted by biologists, chemists and physicists.
The natural science approach stands by the fundamental idea that earths capacity to supply is fixed
and human population is constrained by physical limits and of scarce natural resources. They state that
human biological requirements don t change. For example; everyone on the planet today needs 2000
2500 calories per day to be healthy, this is the same amount of calories our ancestors would have
needed 1000 years ago, however, the earth is now vastly more populated than 1000 years ago,
consequentially, there will come a time when there

Application Of Dgs For Local Network Stability
Introduction: Due to increased concern on energy crisis and environmental issues, power industry is
shifting their power production from conventional power sources to renewable energy sources, and is
incorporating it into the grid utility in the form of distributed generations (DGs). The application of
DGs can enhance reliability and stability of the local network, and can reach benefit to the supplier by
reducing system losses and investment on a new transmission line due to increased power
consumption [1]. Power generation in the form of DGs for local and grid utility can create issues as
many as it may solve. Therefore, a microgrid concept is evolved to coordinate among sources, loads,
and energy storage devices for maintaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inverters are able to supply controlled voltage and frequency depending on the control algorithms [3].
The characteristics of inverters are significantly different from the conventional generators; therefore,
specific control algorithms are required for a stable microgrid operation [4, 5].
There are a number of publications on droop based control for facilitating high reliability and avoiding
complexity of a supervisory control system [6, 12]. The droop based control algorithms are popular
due to their coordination capability among various power rating units together with flexibility and
reliability. The concept of droop based power control is valid for the both high voltage (HV)
transmission line and low voltage (LV) distribution line, although it has some limitations.
Problem formulation: To achieve consumer satisfaction in power supply and harness renewable
energy, microgrids design and control are essential issues for reliable operation. As the characteristics
of the distribution network and high volume power electronics penetration into the network are
significantly different from the conventional power system, several issues are raised. Some of the
issues, which are a promised field for future research, are described shortly below:
Distribution network: In a LV distribution network, the well known P/f droop control requires much
more effort than the P/V droop because predominated resistive network that naturally connects active

September 18, 2017 A New Trend Marijuana has always been a controversial topic. The use of
marijuana has been a major debate in the government because the government has never had any
control over it. However, the state of California in recent times has been less harsh on marijuana by
passing laws that allow recreational use across the state of California. With this in mind, the city of
Desert of Hot Springs lately has allowed opportunities for people to grow and sell marijuana for
medicinal and recreational purposes as long as they get permits from the city. As a result, businesses

The city of Desert Hot Springs has had money issues in the past and the cultivation was one way to
get the money into its economy. Taxing business should benefit the community itself because it s
something that is in demand. Brian Maclver, with Cannabis Business Times deliberates how the
businesses will get taxed, Cultivation businesses are taxed on both their sales (a monthly 10 percent
fee) and based on the size of their operations an annual tax of $25 per square foot for the first 3,000
square feet, and then $10 per square foot for the remaining. (Maclver). Taxing the business this way
would create more money for the city to disperse the money for education or for city roads anything
that is in need for that city. In addition, tax revenue will help Desert Hot Springs with its economical
struggles that it has had in the past. In an interview conducted by Tom Tucker from CBS, he
interviewed Desert Hot Springs mayor Scott Matas, in which he elaborated how much tax revenue the
cultivating business can bring into the economy. Matas completely backs up the evolving business,
The mayor says he expect cannabis related tax revenues to add about $10 million a year to city coffers

Comparing The Afterlife In Judaism, And Judaism
The views of the Jewish afterlife can vary between those reading the Torah and the Talmud. The
overall concepts are similar however; the minute details differ between new and old believers in
Judaism. Olam Ha Ba is the Jewish afterlife and means the world to come . Judaism followers believe
in the idea of resurrection and reincarnation as part of their traditional belief system. They believe that
upon death of the human body the soul does not cease to exist. Instead, there is belief in the afterlife of
Olam Ha Ba. There are a few ways to get there and guidelines as to how much of this space is shared
with the believers. We have seen in many religions that the focus is on what will happen in the
afterlife, whereas with Judaism we see the focus put on their time on Earth not the time in Olam Ha
Ba. During their time on Earth they are to prepare for their time in the afterlife by studying the Torah
and performing mitzvot, or good deeds. With Judaism, we do not see much dogma so there is much of
the religion left up to personal interpretation. This leads to a few different viewpoints and detail
changes throughout different sects. For the Orthodox Jews we see the belief that some may go to a

but few question the validity of the statement and its meaning. The debate: Can money buy you
happiness? is a spirited debate that has been argued since currency came about. There are those that
side with the popular saying and argue that money has no relation to an individual s happiness. Those
in support of the expression, money can t buy happiness, state the claim that true happiness stems
from internal feelings of self worth, where meaning in life is naturally created by doing good, acting

If it were true, that there is no link between money and happiness, why have economists studied this
connection for many years? In fact, in just the past 30 years, studies have shown there is indeed a
significant association between money and happiness. Over the course of these studies, it has been
determined that people in rich countries are far happier than people in poor countries (Maich 1). The
relationship between wealth and happiness has even been described to be, more complicated than the
romantic entanglements of any Desperate Housewife (Futrelle 1). It is true that the connection
between happiness and money is intricate, however, the link is measurable. Based on a study done by
the University of Michigan, it was found that, a higher income leads to a greater sense of well being,
which in turn, contributes to an individual s happiness greatly (Kurtzleben 1). While the opposition
argues there is no apparent link between wealth and happiness, it is clear to see that there is a very real
connection between the two. Additionally, wealth and happiness now appear to be far more dependent
on one another than we may have previously come to terms with.
It is ironic that the opposition, who argue there is no real relationship between wealth and happiness
are the very people arguing that, if there is any link between the two, money only contributes to
temporary happiness. Both of these arguments can be rebutted swiftly. It has already been

The Lives Of Galileo And Kepler s Inventions
In ancient Greek there are a few main famous people that are remembered. They are Galileo, Newton,
and Kepler. These men were very intelligent and creative and like to think outside the box when it
comes to math, science, and astronomy. All three men were in a way connect to another through their
works. Let s take a deeper look into the lives of these three men.
We can start with Galileo an Italian astronomer. He is known for a few things such as the Copernican
theory which basically is the theory that supports sun centered solar system. Also Galileo became
interested in astronomy, and after he did he built the first telescope back in 1609. With this new
invention it helped him discover things about the planets. For an example it helped him discover ...

The last is Newton from England astronomer. He came up with the three laws of motion not to
confuse them with Kepler s three laws of planetary motion. Newton s three laws were one every
object in motion stays in motion until acted upon by force, the second is force equals mass times
acceleration, and the third is to every action there is an opposite reaction. He also wrote gradational
theory with the help of Kepler s previous work. He became inspired by the sight of seeing a falling
apple. This got him curious and wanted to know more. He also was known for the first reflecting
telescope, which allowed him to play around with the colors and prism that came from the spectrum to
see. Though he may not have had tons of contributing he did have major findings and that is what
made him famous.
It seems like throughout history that these three men eventually helped each other out from what they

Interior and Exterior No other midsize SUV matches the CX 9 s beautifully executed exterior. Front to

Voluntaryly Childless Couples
Be fruitful and multiply, this is the word of the Lord. However, this is now being challenged by some
married couples as there is an increasing rate of married couples choosing to remain childless. The
traditional definition of a family is defined as a man and a woman living together with child /children.
However, a new family type has emerged, such as voluntary childless couples. In this family type the
couple is married and is fully capable of biological reproduction, but have no intention of doing so.
Thus, voluntary childlessness among a married couple exists for a number of reasons: due to
achieving a higher level of educational attainment, so as to pursue a higher standard of living and fear
that children will potentially cause an unhappy marriage. Because of achieving a higher level of
educational attainment, some married couples choose to remain childless. The household childlessness
rate is strongly linked to married couples with high educational level. For example, the Australian
Bureau of Statistics indicated that the proportion of couples aged 45 49 years who were childless
increased with higher level of educational attainment. The statistics highlighted that the highest
proportion of childless married couples were among those with a bachelor degree or higher (20%),
compared with 12% of those with an undergraduate or associate diploma. Couples with no post school
qualifications had the lowest level of childlessness (9%). It is seen that the delaying of child

Communism In America Post World War Analysis
For much of the twentieth century following World War II, communism controlled Europe.
Communist influence spread from Russia to many Eastern European countries. Hungary, Poland and
Czechoslovakia were taken over by communist leaders while trying to recover from the war. During
this time, each country suffered greatly. Social and economic consequences ensued. It was not until
the 1980s and 1990s that each of these countries would find the strength to overthrow their communist
leaders and begin to grow into the countries they are today. The economies of Hungary, Poland and
Czechoslovakia were weak after the war. The USSR s control over these countries promised
communism as a solution. At first, people saw the appeal of the working person s government. This,
however, was not what communism really was. The USSR did not support the rights to private
property. The government ran all major businesses. They also decided what goods would be imported

Relationship Between Convergence And Harry Potter
Convergence has become somewhat vital to the success of a screen text; the number of mediums it
engages with can, to some extent, affect how much of a fan base it creates. The power of the media
producer and the power of the media consumer interact in unpredictable ways stated by Henry
Jenkins. (2006:2) Participatory culture has, in some cases, created the potential for more enriched
franchises that surpass their original purpose, some screen texts can develop a lot further than
expected due to how well received they are. The popularity of the most recognizable film franchises
could be seen as the product of convergence within fan culture. In this essay, I am going to discuss the
relationship between Harry Potter fans and convergence and the various ways the fans have
constructed alternate views of the franchise. I will discuss how Harry Potter has become globally
successful through its convergence and fan culture.
Harry Potter is a relevant case study of convergence because it extends past its original platform,
which was books; there are now Harry Potter video games, merchandise, themed websites and, the
most recent of which, theme parks. In this case, Universal, a company in partnership with Warner
Brothers who own Harry Potter, opened a Harry Potter segment to their original theme park in 2014 in
Florida. This was an effort to bring back the former popularity it once had, such as when the first book
was written in 1997 by J.K.Rowling. The series has become a global

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Have you ever felt the need to wash your hands again, even though you just did so seconds earlier? Or
maybe felt intense anxiety over everyday tasks, such as sending a letter and believing you may have
misspelled a word. You may feel that this is just a personal issue, but in reality, many people all over
the world share the same thoughts and feelings. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or more commonly
called OCD, as defined by (Obsessive, 2010), is a type of mental illness that causes repeated unwanted
thoughts. This common disorder can be found in nearly every region and culture around the world, so
even though one dealing with it may feel alone, the person sitting right beside them could easily be
suffering from something similar. According to (How Many People, 2012), their best estimates found
that one within every one hundred adults, or nearly two to three million adults just within the United
States suffer from some type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Also, they found that at least one
within every two hundred children and teenagers, or five hundred thousand in the United States only,
also deal with this disorder. That number parallels with the amount of children in the United States
who have diabetes. To show the commonality of OCD in our society, it s important to know specific
cases of well known people; especially for those who do feel alone in their feelings. According to

I AM Malala
I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai is a story that shows how a young Muslim girl stood up for
education and changed the world. When Malala Yousafzai was ten years old, the first female prime
minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, was shot dead. Young Malala had witnessed this act of terrorism
on tv, and from that day forward, she promised herself that she would continue the fight for peace and
democracy in Pakistan. Malala went on to be interviewed by her local TV stations and newspapers.
During these interviews, Malala would speak on the topic of education for all. At age 13, Malala s

Trapping Today Should be Legal, but Limited
Trapping is a very important issue, which is connected to many other larger issues. For instance,
trapping lies at the heart of the First
Nation s distinct society issue. Before I talk about the present, however,
I would like to discuss whether trapping should have been illegal when
Canada was first being settled in the 17th and 18th centuries.
When the first explorers came to the new world, it was regarded as a huge slab of worthless rock
standing between Europe and the riches of the
Orient. The only reason these explorers even explored this continent was the hope of finding the North
West passage, a route to the Orient.
Fortunately, while searching for this North West ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Relations with the Indians were shaky, at best. Some Indians befriended the French, and some
befriended the English. Some just gave their furs to the highest bidder. The relationship with the
Indians was more than just a trade agreement. The wars of the Indians were the wars of the French.
Now, imagine what would happen if one day, an Indian came to a
Frenchman and offered him a pelt. The Frenchman tells the Indian that not only will he not buy it, but
no Frenchman in New France will. Not only that, trapping furs in the forests belonging to the French
was not allowed. The relationships with the Indians which had taken so long to establish would be
shattered in days. The Indians would probably recognize the French as their enemies. Now not only
the enemies of the Indian friends of the
French would attack them, but also their friends . Settlers would again become afraid to come to New
France because of the fierce Indian attacks.
The French colony in New France would cease to exist. Therefore, I think trapping should have been
legal then. Now that I have talked about fur trapping then, I ll talk about it now. Unfortunately, it is
much more complicated now. Animal rights activists have told us that it is wrong to kill an animal for
its fur. I strongly agree with this opinion, especially since man made fur is so accessible.

  • 5. The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative RGGI Overview The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a cap and trade initiative set to regulate and reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases from power generating facilities with an electrical capacity equal or greater than 25 electrical megawatts (RGGI, 2015). The drafting of this initiative started in 2003 when Connecticut (CT), Delaware (DE), Maine (ME), Massachusetts (MA), New Hampshire (NH), New Jersey (NJ), New York (NY), Rhode Island (RI), and Vermont (VT) showed interest in reviewing greenhouse gas emissions and a cap trade coalition to address the emission from power plants in their territory. In 2005, the above mentioned states with the exception of RI and MA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlined the model rules for the program. The first obvious one would be social status. Right off the bat we can identify where all the groups fall in society. Starting from the Torrini s who in the story are very wealthy and an upper social class. Then below them, we have the narrator s family who are on the border of poverty, suffering financial problems and hard time in their life. Until the father wins a ten grand scratch off. Rather than spending the money wisely by covering the debt he has, he goes and blows it off recklessly on his daughter s birthday party by purchasing Semplica Girls believing he is finally on the same fields of the wealthy. Which leads us to the final status which is very poor. These were four girls that were completely living in poor conditions with families causing them to sell themselves to provide money for their families. This in a way creates a certain connection between the narrator and the Semplica Girls. As we read the story we learn that the father is constantly worried about his family s well being, how they look and if they are happy or not. There are many things that happen to these pigs for us to have something as simple as pork chops. Some things are just cruel, and some are just unbelievable, but it s true. Of course there are the benefits and the risks, but which one weighs more? This is what you decide. To start off with, pigs need fifty square feet to live a healthy lifestyle, but in most pig farms in the US, pigs only receive about only twenty square feet if they are in good conditions. Most mother pigs spend majority of their lives crammed into metal cages. After mother pigs give birth, then they are moved into cages only big enough to nurse their young, but too small for them to turn over. Once the piglets are about one month old, they are torn from their mothers and crammed in a room filled with other piglets. Male piglets get their testicles cut out when they are only ten days old. • 9. The Effects Of Radiation Exposure On The Environment Throughout history, populations have been affected by the devastating effects of radiation disasters. Chernobyl in 1986 and Fukushima in 2011 are a few radiation disasters that will be highlighted. Chernobyl could be argued as one of the worst incidents of radiation exposure to the general public. Aspects of this paper include background on accidents, the effects of the radiation exposure, and the impact of the population living within the areas. As well as the cost, not only economically but environmentally. Much can be learned from these incidents on a government and individual level. Governments need to understand the magnitude of such a disaster and how to help those affected most. While individuals should be more aware of the dangers of radiation exposure and how their living situations may put them at a higher risk. The public needs to be informed and educated on how accidents like these affect their lives. Chernobyl was the largest uncontrolled radioactive release ever recorded for any civilian operation. Chernobyl had four reactors, which were run on low power making them very unstable. There was a huge power surge which increased the heat in reactor number four. The increased heat set off a chain of events that couldn t be controlled. Pipes began to rupture as well making the prefect condition for two major explosions. • 12. The Importance of Language and Culture The importance of language is a repeated trend throughout history. The lack of language weighs negatively on an individual s intellect and the acquisition of language feeds the development of one s cultural identity. The greatest historical conquest began in the realm of linguistic turmoil. Examples of this are vast in the capturing of American Americans slaves, and injustice towards the Native Americans on the home front. The captured people were taken from a variety of tribes speaking different native tongues to insure communication barriers resulting in the slaves not being able to overtake the ship or rally an uprising. The linguistic and cultural differences lead to the manipulation of the semantics of agreements, which lead to many Native Americans to lose their land. The British taken continentally instilled linguistic control over people from India to Southern Africa. British forcefully mandated the educational system be taught in English therefore ultimately taking over the languacultural acquisition of the continent of India s future. The pedagogy of language is connected to perpetuation of culture, traditions, and social norms. The Deaf community is another example of the importance of language acquisition throughout history. • 13. Alabama Civil War Journal Article Review #1 McCollum, C. THE NEGRO IN ALABAMA DURING THE CIVIL WAR The hardships faced by the slaves during and immediately following the Civil War were relatively the same as they had been prior to the war. During the war, the only thing that changed for some was their Masters . The Governor of Alabama, by an act of 1861, was authorized to accept the services of slaves offered by certain slaveholders and in October the following year he was empowered to impress slaves between the ages of 18 and 45 to use as laborers, essentially making the state their masters. Amendments to the afore mentioned act in 1864 enabled the sheriff to enforce this act. The slaves were used for building defenses in the state as well as to take the place of whites who were enlisted and fighting the war. Some slaves accompanied their owners into battle and a few free blacks served as substitutes for whites. By 1865, the confederacy had decided to enlist slaves but the war ended before this plan could carried out. In 1863, the Union Army in Alabama, employed the first Negro troops to be used mainly for fatigue duty but they were used as line soldiers in a few minor battles. From January to October 1864, James T. Ayres a freeman from Illinois served as the recruiter in north Alabama. While here Ayres learned just how devoted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These issues were resolved by significant battles among them, but never had an affect on the railroads. The railroads charged an extraordinary amount of money for transportation of products. This made farmers extremely outraged, and made them use their money more wisely than spend it on the transportation of their products. The railroad companies misused their money given by the government to gain profit of off land grants. The competition led to workers going on strike for their budgets being cut. These concepts show that railroads, in their wasteful competition, exploited farmers and workers because of budget cuts, transportation of products, and rates.(Introduction, Timeline) Through the wasteful competition of the railroads, workers began to lose support of their family and make a living. Economic And Social Decay Of Detroit Answer to question 1: As given, it is well known that Detroit has gone through decades of economic and social decay and has one of the highest crime rates in the country. Meanwhile, Boston is home to some of the top universities and medical schools in the world and has one of the lowest crime rates. In order to investigate the above information, three socio economic characteristics have been chosen here. They are median household income, per capita income and individual below poverty line. When it comes, to assess the median household income, it is noted that median household income indicates the average level of income per household. This also explores that there are equal number of households that stay above this line and equal number of households that stay below this line. As shown in the appendices, the median household income for Boston remains far above that in Detroit. Therefore, it can be said that people that stay in Detroit are comparatively poorer, which enhance the crime rate. Again, per capita income of individuals can be defined as the total income of the city divided by its population. Therefore, a low per capita income indicates that there are either low income level or the volume of population is high. Now, both the low income level as well as high population directly related with crime rate. This is the reason, why in Detroit, the crime rate is comparatively higher than in Boston. Working Title Population control: an evaluation of the economic benefits and ethical issues of population control through the use of eugenics Background The topic of population has been prevalent in the study of economics but particularly since Thomas Malthus published his book Essay on the Principle of Population (1798). Malthus was the first economist to propose a systematic theory of population. Malthus proposed in his book that humans grow exponentially whereas the food supply grows at an arithmetic rate. This scenario of arithmetic food growth with simultaneous geometric human population growth predicted a future when humans would have no resources to survive on. To avoid such a catastrophe, Malthus urged controls on population growth. Economically there are two approaches to the debate on how much the human population can grow. One debate is the natural science approach which is adopted by biologists, chemists and physicists. The natural science approach stands by the fundamental idea that earths capacity to supply is fixed and human population is constrained by physical limits and of scarce natural resources. They state that human biological requirements don t change. For example; everyone on the planet today needs 2000 2500 calories per day to be healthy, this is the same amount of calories our ancestors would have needed 1000 years ago, however, the earth is now vastly more populated than 1000 years ago, consequentially, there will come a time when there ... The droop based control algorithms are popular due to their coordination capability among various power rating units together with flexibility and reliability. The concept of droop based power control is valid for the both high voltage (HV) transmission line and low voltage (LV) distribution line, although it has some limitations. Problem formulation: To achieve consumer satisfaction in power supply and harness renewable energy, microgrids design and control are essential issues for reliable operation. As the characteristics of the distribution network and high volume power electronics penetration into the network are significantly different from the conventional power system, several issues are raised. The overall concepts are similar however; the minute details differ between new and old believers in Judaism. Olam Ha Ba is the Jewish afterlife and means the world to come . Judaism followers believe in the idea of resurrection and reincarnation as part of their traditional belief system. They believe that upon death of the human body the soul does not cease to exist. Instead, there is belief in the afterlife of Olam Ha Ba. There are a few ways to get there and guidelines as to how much of this space is shared with the believers. We have seen in many religions that the focus is on what will happen in the afterlife, whereas with Judaism we see the focus put on their time on Earth not the time in Olam Ha Ba. During their time on Earth they are to prepare for their time in the afterlife by studying the Torah and performing mitzvot, or good deeds. With Judaism, we do not see much dogma so there is much of the religion left up to personal interpretation. This leads to a few different viewpoints and detail changes throughout different sects. If it were true, that there is no link between money and happiness, why have economists studied this connection for many years? In fact, in just the past 30 years, studies have shown there is indeed a significant association between money and happiness. Over the course of these studies, it has been determined that people in rich countries are far happier than people in poor countries (Maich 1). The relationship between wealth and happiness has even been described to be, more complicated than the romantic entanglements of any Desperate Housewife (Futrelle 1). It is true that the connection between happiness and money is intricate, however, the link is measurable. Based on a study done by the University of Michigan, it was found that, a higher income leads to a greater sense of well being, which in turn, contributes to an individual s happiness greatly (Kurtzleben 1). While the opposition argues there is no apparent link between wealth and happiness, it is clear to see that there is a very real connection between the two. Additionally, wealth and happiness now appear to be far more dependent on one another than we may have previously come to terms with. It is ironic that the opposition, who argue there is no real relationship between wealth and happiness are the very people arguing that, if there is any link between the two, money only contributes to temporary happiness. However, this is now being challenged by some married couples as there is an increasing rate of married couples choosing to remain childless. The traditional definition of a family is defined as a man and a woman living together with child /children. However, a new family type has emerged, such as voluntary childless couples. In this family type the couple is married and is fully capable of biological reproduction, but have no intention of doing so. Thus, voluntary childlessness among a married couple exists for a number of reasons: due to achieving a higher level of educational attainment, so as to pursue a higher standard of living and fear that children will potentially cause an unhappy marriage. Because of achieving a higher level of educational attainment, some married couples choose to remain childless. The household childlessness rate is strongly linked to married couples with high educational level. For example, the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicated that the proportion of couples aged 45 49 years who were childless increased with higher level of educational attainment. The statistics highlighted that the highest proportion of childless married couples were among those with a bachelor degree or higher (20%), compared with 12% of those with an undergraduate or associate diploma. (2006:2) Participatory culture has, in some cases, created the potential for more enriched franchises that surpass their original purpose, some screen texts can develop a lot further than expected due to how well received they are. The popularity of the most recognizable film franchises could be seen as the product of convergence within fan culture. In this essay, I am going to discuss the relationship between Harry Potter fans and convergence and the various ways the fans have constructed alternate views of the franchise. I will discuss how Harry Potter has become globally successful through its convergence and fan culture. Harry Potter is a relevant case study of convergence because it extends past its original platform, which was books; there are now Harry Potter video games, merchandise, themed websites and, the most recent of which, theme parks. In this case, Universal, a company in partnership with Warner Brothers who own Harry Potter, opened a Harry Potter segment to their original theme park in 2014 in Florida.
