In the story The Lottery , it s tradition, every year on June 27th to have the head of each household
choose a slip of paper from the black box. The family whose head of household chooses the coal
marked slip of paper picks again. The person in the houshold who picks the paper with the coal mark
is stoned to death by everyone in the village. As I read the story I examined the characters and how
they felt about this tradition. At the start of the story, the author, Shirley Jackson, explains how the
people in the village prepared for the lottery and how people gathered to the town square for the event.
At this point none of the characters acted like something horrible was about to happen. They were
casual. Then the author went on to explain how the lottery worked, leaving out details about the prize.

Acheteur est aujourd hui une des nombreuses fonctions présentes dans de plus en plus d entreprises.
Cependant cette profession reste récente. Il est donc intéressant de rappeler son histoire et son
évolution jusqu à aujourd hui.

It is true that in the old times women did not have equal rights as men. Men had more social and
political freedom comparing to women, and the system was organized on men. It took a really long
time for women to gain at least some equality. In the book Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Ambroise
Laclos there are many examples of women having much less rights comparing to men in the 18th
century. Back then, women simply couldn t do what men could simply because they were women and

So the author can also hide Cecile s true feeling because she doesn t want everyone to know that she

A tic is a repetitive, uncontrollable, purposeless contraction of an individual muscle or group of
muscles, usually in the face, arms, or shoulders. These movements may be signs of a minor

are also tics that are caused by neurological disorders that could have resulted from brain damage at

These tics are more noticeable during stressful, fatiguing or emotional times (2). Boys are three to four
times more likely to be affected than girls. Transient tics usually do not last for more than one year,
although it is not uncommon to have these episodes over the course of several years. For many
children, the symptoms never go beyond blinking and sniffing (or similar choices) and are often
described as nervous habits or allergy symptoms.

Section 3A(1) of the Disability Discrimination Act states that an employer discriminates against a
disabled person if the discrimination is related to the persons disability or if the treatment they receive
differs from the treatment of persons without a disability unless the employer can actually justify the
less favourable treatment.
In Jones v Post office (2001) Mr Jones worked as a driver for the postal service when he developed

for health and safety issues, as their policy was that any drivers receiving insulin treatment should not

Toyota s Key Challenges
Toyota s information and decision making has been highly centralized. The result: Top management in
Japan has been less sensitive to the expectations of regulators, culture and politics in overseas markets,
and consequently, they have been slower to respond to local problems. The reality is that Toyota s
problems were not caused by a faulty production system but by poor management decisions (Cole,
2011, pg. 34). In the past, Toyota was a company that trained employees to embrace the Toyota Way
