Human Rights and Right of Privacy
HUMAN RIGHTS AND RIGHT OF PRIVACY Prasanta Kumar Dey Civilization is the progress
towards a society of privacy. The savage s whole existence is public ruled by law of his tribe.
Civilization is the process of setting man free from men Ayn Rand : The Fountain head, 1943. The
idea of privacy is as old as Bibalical notion of creation of progenies on earth. Even Adam and Eve
tried to hide their nudity with leaves. Privacy is vital to the mental spiritual and physical well being of
all individuals and also to the morality and personality of individual . It is necessary for a secure

Right to Privacy in India: The concept of privacy was better known in ancient India than elsewhere
when the Vedas began to originate Dharmashastras codified the concept of privacy and their
commentaries expanded the Law of Privacy. In his Arthashastra Kautilya prescribed procedure to
ensure privacy in consultation with his ministers. Though we come across certain legislative
provisions for the protection of privacy interests such as Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code, Section
18 of the Indian Easement Act (1882), Section 26, 164 (3) and 165 of the Criminal Procedure Code
(1898). We find that the term Privacy is not legislatively defined. Nor do we find any definition of this
term in the judicial pronouncement. Though right to privacy has not been mentioned in the chapter of
Fundamental Rights under the Indian Constitution but its value have been recognized and emphasized
by Justice Subha Rao in Kharak Sigh vs. U. P. and Justice Mathew in Govind vs. M. P. Right to
privacy has been called out of the provisions of Article 21 and other provisions of the Constitution
relating to Fundamental Rights read and with Directive Principles of State Policy. It was in this
context held by the court in Kharak Sing vs. State of U. P. that police surveillance of a person by
domiciliary visit would be violative of Article 21 of the Constitution. Mathew Justice considered this

How Did Saddam Hussein Impact The Environment
Donor Letter Our organization Nature Iraq does really important work to support the Mesopotamian
Marshlands. Our work has changed the environment for the better. For thousands of years, the
marshlands influence the culture by us using what we had around us in our environment like reeds to
build most of our belongings. Some examples of this are our houses, little rafts, etc. One other way we
have been influenced by the environment is that we had learned to catch our own fresh fish and sell
them for money. Since in the Marshlands we don t have roads we learned to build boats and rafts and
we use those as types of transportation and for collecting reeds and food. The Marshlands has
provided with a source of power and fresh water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saddam Hussein had a major impact on the homes in the Marshlands. What Saddam Hussein did to
impact the environment so much, is that he just had to use !!TANKS!! to destroy and set homes on
fire. He drained all of their rivers and lakes by building canals into the desert and the Persian Gulf
which dragged away all wildlife and the water in the Marshlands. Saddam Hussein was so vicious that
once he was about to end this brutal attack he didn t even let the plants die by wilting, he just had to
burn the plants down to a crisp. Which changed the culture by making people leave. The Iraq people
had to leave because their homes were destroyed and their source of transportation and food source
was gone. After the brutal attack by Saddam Hussein, the Marshlands was nothing but a pile of dust.
The Iraq people had seemed to lose all hope. Most of the Iraq people either died or got seriously
injured and had to leave after the attack. Saddam Hussein had destroyed all of their homes and food
resources. After the attack, there was nothing left and the Iraq people seemed to disappear into the
shadows like they didn t have a purpose in

Differences Between Greek Theatre And Theatre
Opera and theater share many similarities especially since the former is influenced by the latter. In his
text, A Short History of Opera, Donald Grout defines opera as a drama in music: a dramatic action,
exhibited on stage with scenery by actors in costume, the words conveyed entirely or for the most part
by singing, and the whole sustained and amplified by orchestral music (4). Opera literally translates to
work. The first known opera that was performed was in 1597. However, interestingly enough, the
word opera was not used until 1634 (Grout 1). The origins of seventeenth century opera can be traced
back to Greek drama and medieval theatre. Throughout the seventeenth century, many different kinds
of operas can be found from countries such as Italy, Germany, and England. In order to fully
understand opera and its inner workings, it is important to locate and learn the origin of opera.
Greek drama is said to be the model on which the creators of modern opera at the end of the sixteenth
century based their work on (Grout 11). There are substantial differences between Greek drama and
opera. For example, in Greek theater, the cast was made up of only men and young boys (Grout 13).
Also, it is important to note that these plays were not sung entirely. Rather, many parts were spoken
out loud like the singing was left to the chorus (Grout 12). The chorus s main function was to express
opinions or give advice. They also conveyed emotions for the audience to react to (Grout 12).

MGM Studios, Inc. V. Grokster Case
For many years illegal file sharing and music swapping has been going on. Two very popular cases are
the MGM Studios, Inc. v. Grokster case and the A M Records, Inc. v. Napster case. Both cases differ
in many ways however they also have similarities. A lot of music and other sorts of entertainment are
being distributed for free all over the internet. What some people do not think of are the consequences
that will be faced if they get caught. Not only is the distributor at risk for getting caught but those of
us that download the software illegally can be charged. Both Grokster and Napster distributed free
software that allowed computer users to share electronic files through peer to peer networks (Oyez). In
the Napster case The recording association asserts Napster is guilty of contributory copyright
infringement (The Guardian). According to Slate Grokster is, of course, the sequel to Napster .
Mindsets were very similar in certain aspects. Grokster and Napster both thought they weren t
breaking any laws due to Acts and finding ways to cheat the system. Even though either one won in
court, both played a major role in leaving a footprint when it comes to violating copyright laws. ...

My Reading To Remember
Reading To Remember When I was a little kid growing up, my parents would read me books every
night sometimes multiple books at a time. Books that were read to me and the books I read when I was
in elementary school were and still are my favorite books. Reading is something that I enjoy if the
book covers the right topic, books like the Percy Jackson series, Magic Treehouse, the Stink series and
Bananas In Pyjamas. These stories remind me of a time when I had no responsibilities and no stress. I
wasn t the only one in my family who enjoyed children s books. My parents also found joy in reading
me books. A children s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children s story in the
slightest. (Lewis) C.S. Lewis is a famous novelist who wrote numerous books over his lifetime. My
favorite childhood memories revolve around the stories that I was told. All throughout elementary
school teachers would constantly nonstop preach about how reading was important and how reading
was supposed to improve creativity and memory. Teachers would take time out of the school day to
read to us, while reading the book to the class, often the teacher would stop reading and ask us
questions about what we have read so far. On top of books being read to the class, we would have to
read books on our own. Reading didn t stop there multiple book projects each and every year on top of
all the reading already done in class. To say I was tired of reading was an understatement

Benjamin Franklin Research Paper
Benjamin Franklin is known best for being the president of the United States or you may know him
for his inventions or his writings, but there is so much more to him than just that. He is a man of
wisdom and integrity. This is why I chose him as my figure of interest in my research. Franklin s life
was full of wisdom and science, as he was a well known writer, inventor, printer, as well as, a
founding father of the United States. I had the opportunity to sit down and converse with Franklin
during his time here. With this opportunity, I decided that I would lay out some questions for him to
answer. This paper is a summary of our discussion.
As we all know, slavery was a huge part of Franklin s life time, so my first question pertained to ...

I asked him if he thought his Join or Die cartoon would be as well known as it is today? And also what
did it mean to him? He answered with explaining that he didn t think that it would make such an
impact. He just print it to state that we needed to come together as one union to defeat the French and
Indians. He also explained that during the time, fear ignited a person s emotions and produced a call to
action. So basically trying to scare everyone into coming together. During this time it was not
uncommon to scare people into doing something. Next, he told me why the cartoon was so important
to him he said that he wanted to defeat the French and Indians just as much as the next guy, but what
amazed me was what he told me next. Franklin said that there was a wise tale saying that a severed
snake would come back to life if all the pieces were put back together before sunset and that is why

Observation Of A Korean Restaurant
SEOUL KIMCHI
I have been interested in Korean culture since high school. Therefore, I chose to observe a Korean
restaurant in Manchester. I visited Seoul Kimchi in Upper Brook Street twice on Thursday, 5pm to
6pm and Saturday 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Seoul Kimchi is located in a strategic location. Vehicles heading to the city from Wilmslow Road pass
Upper Brook Street, so it is a busy road. The restaurant is white in colour so it is easily differentiated
among other restaurants in the block like Subway and Zaytoon. It is a small shop accommodating 20
people at one time. During both period I visited, almost all seats are occupied. The restaurant
workforce consists of four chefs (three male and one female), a dishwasher, waiter, and waitress. All
chefs wore white as in most restaurants and attendants wore black. It reminds me of Harley Davidson
riders who wear black as they do not show any dirt. Perhaps the same belief applies here as restaurant
attendants should look clean all the time.
The menu was bilingual (English and Korean) to cater all nationality but customers often ask further
details such as the ingredients of the food. Customers especially non Korean must feel insecure eating
food outside their culture so they ask for assurance. The situation implies that customers seriously care
about what they consume especially food. When ordering, I noticed customers would point on the
menu for a smoother communication with the waiter. Hence, human strive to make life easier. After

American Hustle Movie Analysis
The Art of Survival
I ve always had a particular fondness for movies that made me think. I love long, drawn out movie
scripts that include lots of plot twists, where the movies intent and message is not always clear right
up front. This particular reason is why I chose to evaluate the movie American Hustle. I really enjoy
watching this movie because of the overall story, the characters, and the actors that were cast in this
production. The movie, American Hustle, is a comedy drama that is loosely based on the real life FBI
sting, called ABSCAM, that took place in the late 1970 s and early 1980 s. The movie centers around
two con artist named Irving Rosenfeld, played by Christian Bale, and Sydney Prosser, played by Amy
Adams, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My favorites were Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, and Robert De Niro. The transformation that
Bale put himself through in order to play this role was incredible. He has a history of gaining and
losing weight for various roles but I had never actually seen this for myself until I watched this movie.
Bale gained 43 pounds, shaved his head to produce a realistic comb over, and changed his posture by
slouching which shortened his height by 3 inches and resulted in a herniated disc. Jennifer Lawrence
was very good in this film. I love how she can immerse herself into any character, bring them to life,
and still have pieces of her own personality shine through. Even though Robert De Niro s part in this
movie was practically nonexistent, he still made a lasting impression on me. He played the part of a
legendary mob boss and casino owner named Victor Tellegio. I felt this character fit De Niro so well
because he has this serious demeanor and at times can look very intimidating. In his scene, De Niro is
sitting down at a pool table with the sheikh and a couple of other mob bosses as well as Bradley
Coopers character, and he attempts to talk to the sheikh in English. Coopers character, Richie DiMaso,
informs Victor Tellegio that the Sheikh only speaks Arabic and, unbeknownst to anyone else at the

Symbiotic Lion King
Ecology is how organisms interact with each other and the environment. The Lion King is linked to
ecology by showing how organisms interact with each other and the environment. My three topics are
how symbiotic relationships are important to a community, how limiting factors affect a community,
how communities respond to abiotic or biotic factors, and how this is linked to the movie and Ecology.
Symbiotic Relationships are interactions between two species and how they affect each other. There
are three different types of symbiotic relationships Mutualism, Commensalism, and Parasitism.
Symbiotic Relationships are related to ecology because they both talk about interaction with others.
One example from the Lion King is when the birds go onto the tusk of the elephant. This is an
example of Commensalism because the birds are eating insects off the Elephant s tusk and the

These factors will affect how organisms will behavior and how organisms will survive. An example is
when the hyenas came to pride rock. This is a biotic factor because it affected the whole pride land by
making the herds leave and making everyone hungry. Another example is when water became scarce
in the pride land. This is an Abiotic factor because it made the populations leave the pride land and
everyone scours for water. The examples from the movie happen in real life because when someone
like the hyenas comes to a community they always disrupt the community. An example from real life
is in the Tundra, plants have to adapt to the very long cold winters because the sun does not come up.
This is an example of Abiotic factor because it shows the plants have to respond in order to survive.
The examples in the movie and the real life example have much common. The animals and plants both
have to respond to changing abiotic and biotic

The merchant of cool is 2001 s special documentary of PBS frontline on culture and mass media,
which was produced by Barak Goodman and Rachel Dretzin . This documentary explores the heavily
dependence of youth on the mass media. This documentary is about the selling and buying of cool. In
America mostly consumers of cool are teenagers. In a certain year, hundred billion dollars of their
own money spend by the teen agers. While teens influence their parents and fifty billion dollars were
additional spend by them. Film studies revealed that, there is relationship among mass media, who
frequently sales cool and teenagers. Throughout the film this relationship discussed. Some people
affirms that desires and wants of teens expressed by the media. On the other hand, some people
believed that, to earn profit, media has created a cool market. Conclusion of this film revealed that
many people believed that media and teenagers are in a loop of feedback. It is believed that purpose of
this feedback loop has to blend the teen culture and real culture. By blending these two cultures to
make a new single culture. No one can determine that which culture will be more influenced.
Conglomerates like Viacom, Walt Disney, Vivendi Universal, News Corp and AOL Time Warner,
these are some media giants. These media giants own these products and often sold these products to

Ophelia, By William Shakespeare Essay
Ophelia is a terminal character in Hamlet, whose death is caused by a lack of self control and self
knowledge. Her father controls her life, and when he dies, her life is essentially over. This poses the
question: why does the death of Polonius bring on the complete collapse and destruction of Ophelia?
Polonius controls Ophelia, and does a substantial amount of her thinking. Without him, she has no
direction in her life and no way to express herself as she has been so suppressed her entire life, and all
of a sudden she is free. She does not know what to do with herself. It is possible that Hamlet s
rejection of Ophelia contributes to her madness, it is possible that her not being a virgin contributes to
it, and it is also possible that she has lost all control due to the series of events that have proven her
lack of worth in this patriarchal society. This essay will argue that with her father gone, Ophelia no
longer knows what to do with her life, and has no intended purpose since no one is invested in her life
anymore.
In order to clearly understand the dynamics between Polonius and Ophelia, it is crucial to understand
Polonius as a person. First, it is important to look at what people in the kingdom, specifically Hamlet,
think about him. By comparing the what people think about him and his actions, his character can
accurately be predicted. Hamlet appears to be the most reputable character to take opinions from in
this instance, because he is not involved in the scandal

Literature And Film From The Late Nineteenth- And Early...
In focusing on literature and film from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Somerville
demonstrates how emerging models of homo and heterosexuality at the turn of the twentieth century
were embedded within discourses of race and racialization, particularly bifurcated constructions of
black and white bodies (175). Noting that the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson Supreme Court case, in which
the government s right to determine an individual s racial identity was affirmed, emerged at the same
time as the discourse of sexology, Somerville explains that it was not merely a historical coincidence
that the classification of bodies as either homosexual or heterosexual emerged at the same time that
the United States was aggressively constructing and policing the boundary between black and white
bodies (3). Somerville argues that this new polarization of bodies and focus on desires reflected a
similar, simultaneous shift in racial thinking. Over the same time period, the cultural figure of the
mulatto gave way to a new vision of the races as natural opposites, and increasing numbers of legal
and social mechanisms were put into place to prevent people of different races from having sex with
one another. Thus the emergence of new sexual categories mirrored, and was profoundly influenced
by, the hardening of the color line, the stark division of Americans into strictly segregated categories
of black and white. One of the many strengths of

The Issue Of Public Policy
In any society, governmental entities enact laws, make policies, and allocate resources. Public policy
can be generally defined as a law systems, strict measures, courses of action, and funding issues that
about a given topic promulgated by a governmental entity or its representatives. Abortion is one issue
that has been a matter of subject in government and citizens concerning its public policy. Over years
the government has made decisions concerning the policy towards abortions in the United States of
America. Abortion plays a major role in public policy on the issue of whether or not it is a public
decision or a woman s own private decision. In certain views of citizens in the United States, abortion
is not seen as an issue that should be banned by governmental laws. They believe that it is a private
decision that should be made by a woman and her medical doctor. John M. Swomley, a Ph.D. graduate
in political science, saw that abortion per se is not morally wrong (Swomley). He thought that this was
a personal matter that should be decided by oneself or a medical examiner. The alternate to private
decision is compulsory pregnancy if the government makes laws prohibiting or restricting abortions
prior to the third trimester, according to John Swomley. Many cases and groups have organized as a
result of the abortion issue in public policy.
One case in particular is the Supreme Court decision in Roe vs. Wade in 1973. Roe, a single pregnant

The Shoemaker and the Tea Party
The Shoemaker and the Tea Party by Alfred Young revolves around two bibliographies written about
one of the last living participants of the Boston Tea Party, and the authors own interpretations of the
events surrounding the Tea Party and the American Revolution as a whole. In this particular novel,
Young explores what it means to rediscover history, and how history is continually redefined.
Particular attention in the novel is given to public history, and how highlighting people otherwise lost
to time can completely change how an event is perceived. Readers are given the opportunity to see the
history behind the American Revolution through the lenses of an average man of that time. In this
essay I will review the novel and the message ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Young also makes reference to some of the countless books he serendipitously came across in his
research surrounding the American Revolution, and the event that would come to be known as the
Boston Tea Party. Young pulls from his large selection of evidence to make his points throughout the
novel.
In order to understand Hewes, Young delved into the psychology of memory and references noted
psychologist Daniel Schachter. (xiii.) By understanding why someone remembers an event in a
particular way, gives insight into how memories are consolidated. Hewes memory for a man is age is
remarkable to say the least. The emotion tied to a particular memory is able to enhance it (xii). Young
seems to use this evidence to lend creditability to the way that Hewes remembers particular events
such as the Boston Massacre. At the same time, Young explores while Hewes would be able to
remember more during the interviews for the second bibliography written about him. Young implies
that the first interview essentially helped to focus Hewes memory which allowed him to remember
more easily with Thatcher in his second interview as well as remembering new anecdotes.
The first portion of the novel deals mostly with Hewes life and why he lived the life that he did.
Young s portrayal of a young Hewes, ever defiant, immediately causes a reader to reminisce of his or
her own childhood. It soon becomes evidently clear that where one ended up in life depended

Spain And Spanish Culture
When examining any culture, pieces of other ideologies and cultural normalities different than the
foremost culture prevail, intertwining different cultures together. Spain, historically, has been known
to be a passing point for a wide variety of religious groups. During the ancient world, Christian,
Muslim, and Jewish peoples coexisted, each ultimately contributing to Spanish culture. Starting
around 701 C.E., Muslim forces began to expand into areas around the Middle East, gradually
broadening this land mass to reach Spain. Initially, Arab invaders were met with vigorous resistance;
however, as time went on, invaders experienced little opposition, allowing them to reap city after city.
Within the newly Arab conquered cities, other religious groups faced little discrimination.
Additionally, this conquest established the ever present influence of Islam on Spanish culture. In this
case, Spain adopted Islamic cultural innovations such as: forms of writing, religious aspects,
architectural styles, and materials supplied for said architectural innovations. Trailing into the modern
world, traces of Islamic culture are evidently intertwined into Spanish culture. Due to Spain s rich
history in interweaving cultures, it can be said that Spanish culture is intensely influenced by Islamic
culture through the invasion of Arab military in medieval time, visually retaining influence through
culture, religion, and architecture.
At the beginning of the early 700s, Muslims from the Arabian Peninsula began their conquest by
convincing nearby Germanic tribes to surrender; though it was not until they travelled across the
Straits of Gibraltar and attacked around 711 that their expansion truly began. As stated earlier, other
religious groups within Muslim Spain faced little discrimination. This impartial society could be
explained by the Treaty of Tudmir. This treaty promised that [Christians] will not be coerced in
matters of religion, their churches will not be burned, nor will sacred objects be taken from the realm
(Treaty of Tudmir). Islamic forces continued their invasion and took control of Zaragoza, Spain by
714 C.E. In an opportunity to encourage his men, Tarik, a leader in the conquest of Spain wrote: attack

even today. Though the thought of moving upwards in society is hopeful, it is not always plausible.
The barriers seperating people in the lower class and upper middle class is growing. What is needed is
the Redefinition of upward mobility for pleople of lower income. The Horatio Alger Myth is still just
a myth for most, when it needs to become a reality. The impact of the Horatio Alger myth, is based off

As Coontz corrilates Still, I have no illusions that I d actually go back to the 1950s , and neither do
most people who express such occasional nostalgia (Coontz, 28). The air that it held of being secure in
ones job, future and family was something that everyone could take a security in. Even if that security
wasn t something that would have essentailly come to them. People of minorities weren t treated
fairly, neither were women. However the ideal of a white man in the 1950 s, working and being able
to live comfortably with a family and send his children to school was something that everyone wanted
to attain, and still want to attain today. Even as the bridges are closed between racial and gender
profiling and stereotyping are closing, even if their not closed completely. Financial stability and the
gap between the working and upper classes in America is still growing more and more distant as the
economy continues downward. The Horatio Alger myth is still going strong, and ideally as perfect as
that situation is. The Myth in question needs to change to suit the changes of America, or America
needs to become a place like the myth where you can move up in the world with hard work and merits

Sita Brahmachari Red Leaves
Red Leaves Draft 4
Red Leaves by Sita Brahmachari is a great book for an IB student to understand and explore the global
context of orientation in space and time. Red Leaves is about three kids named Aisha, Iona and Zak,
and how their lives become interlaced in the city of Home Oaks, in the United Kingdom. The story of
Red Leaves includes 3 key aspects of orientation in space and time; the importance of personal
histories, the concept of home, and the interconnectedness of individuals and civilizations.
By reading this book, IB students will learn the importance of personal history, and they will learn to
appreciate people for who they are. The characters in Red Leaves learn that everyone has a back story,
and they learn to respect it. For instance, Aisha is a refugee from Somalia who fled because of the
Civil War in her country. She has been living with Liliana, her foster mother. This teaches IB students
about how someone s past can affect their lives even now. Aisha s past affected her personality by
making her a stronger person, and letting her stay true to her roots and religion. Another example is
Iona. She was abused by her step father, and those experiences affect the way she acts. She acts tough

perfect example. She has been uprooted from home many times, and torn away from the people she
loved. Nevertheless, she found a home with her foster mom and made friends. Aisha s concept of
home was where Liliana was, where her friends were, and where she was safe. IB students will learn

Analysis Of The Film Gladiators
The film Gladiators was about the reign or Marcus Aurelius coming to an end. When Marcus chooses
Maximus, an army general and a powerful man with good morals, over his own son Commodus, to be
heir to the throne of the Roman Empire, Commodus is enraged and sentences Maximus and his family
to death. Maximus escapes his death sentence but is unable to save his family. The loss of his family
causes his willpower to disappear which allows him to be captured and put into the games of the
Gladiators until death. The only thing keeping him fighting is that he has a chance to rise to the top
and take revenge on the man who destroyed everything he loved, the new emperor Commodus.
In my opinion, I would say the protagonist of this film was Maximus by far. Maximus was an army
general with good morals, a strong man who cared for others, a family man who would do anything
for the ones he loved, but most of all, he had courage. He wasn t afraid to do what needed to be done
when it was necessary. In the film, Maximus said something along the lines of I am required to kill
when it is necessary, not for enjoyment. His internal compass spins correctly, unlike the antagonists. I
would deem Commodus the antagonist of this film. First, he kills Marcus Aurelius, the most loved
ruler of Roam and a wonderful man, once he finds out that he isn t the chosen heir to the Roman
Empire. Second, he sentences Maximus and his entire to family to death in a brutal, inhumane way.
Commodus has some

form of charting for clients, and has a rigorous schedule that is a lot of times; disrupted by clients not
showing up on time, or at the wrong time. She tries to keep structure but with the element of clients,
this sometimes becomes very difficult. Lakisha tells me that working conditions inside the clinic are

The Transition Of Technology For Ipv6 Multi Homing
Abstract Multi homing is a technique in which a network is connected to more than one Internet
Service Provider to increase the quality and robustness of the Internet connection. This technical paper
introduces the techniques and the approaches for IPv6 multi homing. Further, it describes the
advantages and the disadvantages associated with the present technology, and the techniques that can
be used to improve this technology. Also, a comparison has been made between IPv4 and IPv6 multi
homing techniques.
Keywords IPv6, multi homing, PI, PA, Routing, BGP, NAT, Middle box.
I. INTRODUCTION
The transition of technology from IPv4 to IPv6 has led to an increased use of the multi homing
techniques. Multi homing refers to the practice of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are discussed in the following sections.
II. Routing Approach for IPv6 Multi homing
The routing approach is the most prominent way for IPv6 multi homing. The only drawback of this
approach being the scalability issue. Every site that carries out multi homing using the routing
approach adds an entry to the global routing table, thereby making it a difficult choice for multi
homing, as far as scalability is concerned [5]. The different routing approach are as discussed below:
a) IPv6 Multi homing with BGP
PI address space:
Using Provider Independent (PI) addressing space is considered as the most effective technique for the
ISPs and large enterprises. However, for small ISPs this is not a good solution as it involves the use of
BGP as well as causes issues related to scalability. The first step involved is to obtain a PI allocation,
i.e., to obtain your own IP address space or the permission to advertise a route [3]. As prescribed, the
minimum PI allocation that can be done is a /48. This is the most expensive of all the approaches due
to its requirement of a PI space as well as an Autonomous System (AS) numbers. Figure 1: Using PI
address space
As shown in the figure above, we need to establish the BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) sessions

Michael Curtis Soule Case Study
The straightforward case, State of Montana vs. Michael Curtis Soule, appeared to be Vehicular
Homicide While Under the Influence. But costly mistakes that happened on the law enforcement end,
ultimately altered the case into a complex situation of who done it. Such small errors like missing
evidence and being caught up in the moment can change the outcome of any case to guilty or not
guilty. In this particular case, investigators doubted their skills or second guessed evidence that could
have been the game changer.
It all started on January 25th, 2012, Michael and his wife, Jennifer Soule were traveling on Interstate
Highway 90 at about 2:00 a.m. Approximately at this time a vehicle rollover accident occurred,
launching both Michael and Jennifer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When arrived, he instructed nurses to take possessions of Michael s clothes and to put them in a
locked locker. Trooper Josh Brown became the primary investigating officer of the crash. He went to
the accident scene early afternoon the next day after the crash. Showing up to the scene a day later,
Brown did not see the vehicle or the state of the vehicle. He was involved in witness interviews,
measurements of the crash scene, assisted with serving a search warrant of the vehicle, downloaded
the control module of the airbag and prepared an accident report. On February 22nd, 2012, Brown
participated in the processing of the vehicle with Joe Pasternak from the Montana Crime Lab. Brown
testified Pasternak collected a swab of stain on the driver s side dash and marked it as Item 15. Brown
could not located the evidence to deliver to the Crime Lab. Brown has attended a basic accident
investigation training at the Montana Patrol Academy. He relied on Hospital tests rather than the State
Crime Lab s test on Michael s blood. Hospital results are to be directly for medical purposes and must
not be used for legal testing. Brown later admitted he is not familiar with drug screening test and
should have consulted with a toxicologist. Brown who has received the accident training did no
calculations and never used a computer to assume who was the driver. He also later admitted, that the
State never collected any evidence from the guardrail. His opinion was that Michael was driving the
vehicle due to the fact he was found near the driver s door. He interviewed Gloria Wells who describe
Michael as being in front of the vehicle and was scooting . Gloria then drew a diagram and showed
Michael in front of the vehicle. Brown described the forces created inside the vehicle were a forward
motion. DNA testing revealed Michael s DNA was found on the driver s side airbag. Brown

principals are the foundation for many of Target Corporation s values to this day. Dayton s store soon
became synonymous with reliability and fair business practices. After Dayton s death in 1938, he

Conflicts over Religion
How did religious conflicts influence colonization?
Another chief source of conflict was religion. The Protestant Reformation challenged the authority of
the Roman Catholic Church, and Catholics and Protestants struggled for religious, economic, and
political power. Alliances changed when new rulers assumed power; for instance, a country that was
officially Protestant one day could become Catholic the next. Likewise, countries that were allies one

Catholics and Protestants used any means possible to conquer and convert each other, including laws,
taxes, threats, torture, imprisonment, and war. Jews in Europe were typically tolerated but forced to
live in ghettos, isolated from Christian communities. Anyone who dissented from the established
religion had a good reason to leave. To members of a persecuted group who wanted to live in a
community of like minded people, the New World must have been very tempting.
Roanoke: First English Colony in North America
The story of Roanoke, the first English colony in North America, shows some of the ways in which
political, economic, and religious competition affected colonization. In 1585, Queen Elizabeth I of
England agreed to support the Dutch against the Spanish. She gave a charter of land to an English
noble, Sir Walter Raleigh, to establish a colony. This colony would supply the English warships that
would fight the Spanish.
However, the plan failed when colonists discovered the warships could not navigate the Roanoke
harbor s shallow waters. The expedition left more than 100 settlers to establish the colony. England
left these colonists alone for three years while it fought against Spain. When a supply ship finally
arrived, the Roanoke Colony was deserted. To this day, nobody knows what happened to the Roanoke

The Restoration Of Glacial Park
When we arrived at Glacial Park, it was oppressively hot, and it stayed so throughout the day. We
were ushered into the visitor center where we met Dr. Tom Simpson, the research field station
ecologist. He gave an introductory lecture on restoration ecology in general, alluding to the
foundational UW Madison Arboretum Project, and laying out challenges within the field. He
specifically pointed to how restoration projects can never be truly finished and how projects often
work to restore historical landscapes that are long gone. Then, he asked us to consider, in the face of
these challenges, whether ecological restoration is even worth the effort. With that question hanging
over our heads, we went into the field. Our task was two fold; we ... Show more content on

Our next activity, following lunch, was a nature walk through the park. Although the sun beat down
with a vengeance, we braved the heat in the name of knowledge. Dr. Simpson led us to a beautifully
restored oak savanna. After farmers had cleared the landscape for agriculture, MCCD has worked to
restore the area to an oak savanna, the historic ecosystem. Dr. Simpson said that there were more oaks
in the restored area than the reference ecosystem probably had. I was very impressed by the project as
there were massive oaks and a relatively good diversity of prairie grasses and shrubs beneath them.
However, Dr. Simpson asked us what was wrong with the restored system. Bewildered, the group was
unable to answer him. He revealed that there was a lack of small oaks. Although there were plenty of
established trees, the landscape was missing saplings, which is problematic for the future of this
ecosystem. Dr. Simpson said he would tell us later why he thought this was so, but, as we ran out of
time, Dr. Ohsowski eventually informed us that rodents were preventing oak saplings from growing.
Our walk continued through the park. We stopped and examined different exotic invasive species, like
multiflora rose and European buckthorn. Dr. Simpson explained how multiflora rose was brought to
the United States to be used as erosion control. This harkened back to the original dilemma he posed.

Some Theorists Believe Cinema Must Be Realistic And May
Some theorists believe cinema must be realistic and may only be seen as art if it remains in its original
form a static image on film stock. Others, however, argue that cinema is an important and relevant art
medium no matter its form. Digital cinema, while making use of new and different technologies such
as animation, is the next step in the evolution of film. Contrary to what certain theorists believe, it is
the most efficient and most artistically inclined way to create films as it offers a world of possibilities.
This is elaborated on in Digital Cinema and the History of a Moving Image, an excerpt from What Is
Cinema? the sixth chapter of The Language of New Cinema, a book penned by Lev Manovich.
Indeed, the author describes how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This mobility was acquired thanks to pre cinematic creations such as the Zootrope. What followed
was the debut of cinema as a moving image on film stock. This prompted documentary style short
films, such as L Arrivée d un train en gare à la Ciotat by Auguste and Louis Lumière, as well as, later
on, fictional feature films, like Charlie Chaplin s Modern Times. However, by mid 2011, 50 per cent
of the more than 39,500 North American screens had become digital. [And, in] the United States, the
major distributors have announced that they will cease to distribute films on 35mm film by the end of
2013. Thus, certain directors such as James Cameron and George Lucas are advocates for fully
digitally shot films. As a matter of fact, in 1984, George Lucas developed EditDroid and SoundDroid,
computerized, electronic non linear editing systems for image and sound. Furthermore, cinema has
evolved in terms of animation as well. In fact, the types of animation that are currently in use are so
entirely different than the kinds filmmakers had to use in the past. For example, while Meliès was
required to hand paint each and every single one of his film s frames for Le Voyage dans la Lune,
James Cameron s Avatar was able to make use of digital technologies in order to make the film 3D as
well as to turn human actors into the aliens featured in the film. Nevertheless, this new technological

The Rescuers And Aid For Jews During The Holocaust
In studying the rescuers and aid to Jews during the Holocaust, there are few, if any, factors that prove
to universally explain why people decided to help. These people defied most demographics; class,
country, religion, and even included anti Semites, though economic and practical determinations were
involved so much as one s ability to help is determined by economic/practical restraints. Even so,
most, if not all, of these people did have the propensity for helping and service to other prior to
helping Jews of the Holocaust. Nechama Tec and later Perry Lendon found this to be true, showing
that in these people was an instinct to help, regardless of their feelings towards Jews. This
characteristic coincided with independent, self reliant people who felt less attached to social demands
and saw helping as a fact rather than heroic act. While these characterize individuals, the level at
which specific countries were willing to help Jews did differ. Denmark and Bulgaria helped more than
countries like Romania. In Denmark, there were a smaller amount of Jews and most were already
assimilated into society before the Nazis came in. This allowed them to easily blend and hid within
Denmark, and eventually Jews were helped to escape in 1943 as the Nazi encroached into Denmark.
Hungary, on the other hand, held intense anti Semitic views, but chose to help Jews (somewhat)
because they did not believe in the methodology used by the Nazis against Jews. Hungary refused

Addressing a huge gathering of Serbs assembled on the site of the battle of Kosovo Polje, where an
Ottoman army inflicted a crushing defeat on Serbian forces 600 years earlier, he launched a campaign
to restore Serbian greatness that resulted in the break up of Yugoslavia, amid the worst atrocities and
violations of human rights since the end of the Second World War. While the formidable Serb led
Yugoslav army was used against Croats too, the worst excesses and amp;#8220;ethnic cleansing ; took

What effects the Balkan region is its blood soaked history, an ethnic jigsaw puzzle and, currently the

dreamy as a man is taken back by a song to his childhood. While both are presented to us through
similar personas, striking differences are apparent throughout the two poems.
My Papa s Waltz is the pensive recollection of a boy s nightly waltz around the house in the arms of
his father. Roethke s poem gives a voice to the often silent internal ... Show more content on

And yet at the end of the stanza, we are shown just how defenseless the child is as his father drags him
around the room, scraping his son s ear with his belt buckle. Roethke makes the most important
statement in the last line of his poem, ? waltzed me off to bed Still clinging to your shirt (479).
Clinging, and all that the word implies: fear, sadness, love and admiration, is both the greatest strength
and obstacle the boy will encounter in his relationship with his father. In contrast to My Papa s Waltz ,
D. H. Lawrence s Piano is a man s remembrance of a happy childhood. Lawrence sets a dream like
tone in the first stanza of his poem as we are taken back through the years to a man s boyhood. Taken
back by a song, the man is transported back to the Sundays of his childhood where he would sit
beneath the piano as his mother played hymns. While melancholy, Lawrence shows us that his persona
yearns for the happy childhood he once had with the line, The glamour Of childish days is upon me,
my manhood is cast Down in the flood of remembrance, I weep like a child for the past (574). The
author establishes a connection with readers through his use of music as a means of passage through
time with the statement, In spite of myself, the insidious mastery of song Betrays me back,? (574).
Through this use of music and the

Are Conservatives Racist
The word racist has been labeled to a specific type of people. According to the Merriam Webster racist
is defined as, a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or
who believes that a particular race is superior to another. These people have also been classified as
conservatives. The question that I present in this essay is why conservatives are seen as racist? This
question will be answered with both perspectives of the Liberals and the Conservatives. With their
inputs I can as the writer have a better understanding on this matter. The articles that I present are very
bias filled in which so I present two of the opposite opinion to balance out. The bumper sticker that is

From the conservative point of view, they have stated this label of racist or bigot t has been bestowed
on them due to the Liberals. As www.thefederalists.com a news website says, Liberals Need Racist
Foes to Vanquish. He states the liberals use the race card to attack conservative he does agree with the
fact there are bad people in any group and how there is the Misrepresentation of a community, but
questioned that liberals hadn t walked away from the past and all of this is counterproductive. Which
implies that conservative or the author of this article thinks liberals need some racist enemy to fight
against. Even after the post Civil right movement. Conservatives are convinced that liberals hold on to
those events as some fuel to push their agenda. It is said that liberals are so proud of their
achievements in the Civil Rights Movement it is all they have to combat the conservatives. Which is
acknowledged, yet thought of repetitive; as stated in Why Liberals Think Consumer Are Racist,
Everyone Hates Reruns. Many conservatives have recognized the tragedies and Injustice during the
Civil Rights Movement, but unlike the Liberals,

Orangutans Research Paper
In the last twenty years orangutans have lost about eighty percent of their homes, and one third of the
orangutans have died during the forest fires according to the Orangutan Conservancy. Everyday the
homes of orangutans are chopped down and destroyed leaving the orangutan homeless. The orangutan
makes its home in palms trees mainly in Indonesia and Malaysia. In an effort to harvest palm oil,
which is used mainly in toiletries and baked goods, we are causing damage to the orangutan s natural
habitat. The process by which we gather palm oil destroys the environment, hurts the orangutans
health, and ultimately puts the orangutan into extinction. When will we stop these horrible actions and

Virginia Tech Shooting
How safe do you feel when you attend school everyday? Many students and faculty don t really think
too much about school being a dangerous place; however, after a couple of school shootings had taken
place their minds and thoughts may have changed completely. On April 16, 2007, in the town of
Blacksburg Virginia, a college student who attended Virginia Tech, opened gunfire to his fellow
classmates. This shooting has been considered to be the biggest massacre in all of American history.
There are many things to be discussed in this major tragedy. Some of them include the events leading
up to the shooting, the timeline that the shootings occurred, the causes, and the significance in this
particular shooting. The Virginia Tech is only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the many causes of why something this mind blowing could actually happen in our
country and feel so close to home. It is absolutely amazing how the viciousness of a single person
could affect the lives of so many people. Several people had begun to wonder what might have been
the cause of this massacre. One of the causes brought to attention was the fact that Virginia Tech
College didn t take proper responsibility when notified by faculty and students that Cho may be a
dangerous individual. If fact, if the school would have looked further into the gunman s history and
the many complaints people were constantly filing against him then maybe this wouldn t have
happened. However, we must not go back in time and say what if because that will not change what
has already happened. Another cause for this tragedy may be the violent movies, music, or television
shows. Several of people are influenced by the things they see whether they want to admit it or not is a
different story. It seems like the more graphic and gorier the movie the better; however, the people
who write these movies don t think of the impact the movie may have on an individual s life. Last, this
cause brings me to the wonderful thing called videogames. Videogames these days have come along
way from what they used to be. Back in the day

Battle Comparison Beowulf is a story about the quests and battles that the main character, Beowulf,
endures. Though he faces many challenges, he is able to overcome them because of his superhuman
strength and braveness. During the story, Beowulf fights three beasts: Grendel, Grendel s Mother, and
a Dragon. With the strength of 30 men in each hand grip, magical weapons, and the support of Wiglaf,
his right hand man, Beowulf is able to defeat all three beasts, but suffers a fatal blow in his last battle
against the Dragon. In the first of Beowulf s three battles, he challenges Grendel, a disgusting monster

She retaliates by attacking the city, just as Grendel did before he was defeated. Beowulf, realizing this
was going to be a similar beast to Grendel, was going to have to fight her alone. This time, Beowulf is
going to go on the offensive and attack Grendel s mother in her lair underneath the lake. Grasping a
breath of air, Beowulf dives into the lake and spends a day swimming to the lair. Upon his arrival,
Beowulf is immediately attacked by Grendel s mother but his armor protects him. He is pulled further
into the lair and realizes that she is much tougher than Grendel was and that he won t be able to defeat
her with his bare hands. He spots a sword in the lair and grabs it. In one big swing, Beowulf severs her
head, and she falls to the ground. Another victory for Beowulf and the people of Heorot. Beowulf then
spots Grendel s body on the ground and in a rage, severs his head too. Beowulf then returns to Heorot
and is crowned the ruler of the city and the Danes. Shortly after the defeat of Grendel s mother, a 50
foot dragon began attacking the city of Heorot. The dragon flew all over the land, burning and
destroying everything, because someone stole his golden cup. The city of Heorot was almost
completely destroyed and Beowulf yet again, realizes that he is going to have to step up and take
down this beast. Beowulf does exactly that and says he will be taking down this dragon, but he is

The Importance Of The Opium Wars In China
The Opium Wars took place in China from 1839 to 1860, between Western forces and the Qing
dynasty, which ruled China from 1644 to 1912. The first Opium War occurred from 1839 to 1832 and
was fought between China and Britain. In the 17th and 18th centuries, European demand for Chinese
goods (particularly silk, porcelain, and tea) created a trade deficit between Great Britain and Qing
Imperial China. In 1839, China s Emperor had enough of British drug smuggling and suspended all
British trade with China, beginning the first Opium War. In 1842, the Qing Dynasty was forced to sign
the Treaty of Nanking, which granted protection and immunity to Britain, and opened five treaty ports
to foreign suppliers, among other things. The second Opium War, also referred to as the Anglo French
War in China, occurred from 1856 to 1860, and was fought by Britain and France against China. The
failure of the Treaty of Nanking to satisfy British goals of enhanced trade and diplomatic relations led
to the second war. In both opium wars, the foreign powers were victorious and obtained commercial
advantages and legal and territorial concessions in China. The wars began an era of unequal treaties on
Qing sovereignty that helped weaken the dynasty and eventually lead to the collapse in favor of
republican China. The opium wars are significant because they humiliated the Chinese, who still
considered themselves a great and powerful empire. The wars were also a clear example in showing
the world that China could be pushed around by distant foreign powers. Contemporary Chinese still
feel the need to prove themselves on the world stage because of this.
Following the Opium Wars and the Treaty of Nanking, the Qing dynasty struggled to maintain control
and legitimacy. Searching for an alternative, hundreds of thousands of disillusioned peasants joined
what became known as the Taiping Rebellion. It was a civil war in China that lasted from 1850 to
1864 and was fought between Qing dynasty and the Christian millenarian movement of the Heavenly
Kingdom of Peace, which was created by Hong Xiuquan. Hong thought God had sent him to rid the
world of evil. The Taiping Rebellion claimed to herald a new era of economic and social justice.

engine and the SS Supercharged powered by the 2.0 liter, four cylinder engine.
Beginning in 2007, Chevrolet rolled out a new audio system, wheel packages, and a new steering
wheel. Additional trim shuffling took place in 2008. The SS coupe and SS sedan were renamed the
Sport coupe and the Sport sedan, respectively. Previous optional equipment, including an MP3 player,
XM radio, and side impact airbags were now standard. A new stability control system was introduced.
For 2009, the Sport coupe and Sport sedan models were eliminated, along with the 2.4 liter engine
powering them. An upgraded 2.2 liter engine was introduced. Bluetooth connectivity was added as
well. Other changes included making OnStar telematics standard across the model line, an iPod
compatible USB port was added to the radio, and new low rolling resistance tires were introduced.
The 2010 Cobalt is mostly a carryover model with a new My Link telematics and trim package
introduced. A power sunroof and performance display were made standard on the Cobalt SS

Dgs Is More Advantageous Than Pbg Or Ebg Structures
DGS is more advantageous than PBG or EBG structures:
(1) For implementing EBG structures, a very large area is required to implement the periodic pattern
and it is also very difficult to define the unit element of EBG structure whereas DGS structures has
properties similar to EBG and the geometry of DGS can be one or very few etched structures which is
very simpler and also does not require large area for implementation of it.
(2) DGS can be easily designed and implemented. It has higher precision with rectangular shaped
defect structures. Therefore it is very good option to extend its practical applications. In my project, I
have designed and simulated microstrip patch antenna at operating frequency 2.4GHz using HFSS
software .It has Substrate (FR4) having dielectric constants of 4.4.I have designed single patch
antenna without DGS, 2x1 array antenna and 4x1 array antenna without DGS ,4x1 array antenna with
DGS (Dumbbell shaped , Double Circular shaped, E shaped) and analyze the results. I analyze that I
god improved results in 4x1 array antenna configuration with E shaped DGS structure in terms of
Voltage Standing Wave Ratio of 1.12, Return loss of 22.12 dB, Bandwidth of 404 MHz, Gain of 7 dB
etc.
1.1 Problem Statement : Design Microstrip array antenna with Improved DGS structure for
Performance Improvement.

1) Design a single patch antenna at operating frequency 2.4 GHz.
2) Design Array antenna of two by one

Conviction Is An American Drama Television
Conviction is an American drama television show that centers around a new department of the New
York County District Attorney s Office called the Conviction Integrity Unit or the CIU. The CIU was
created to reinvestigate any cases that could have been wrongfully convicted due to any external
factors. The team has four members, an Assistant District Attorney (Sam Spencer), a former New York
Police Department Detective who became District Attorney Investigator (Maxine Bohen), a Paralegal
(Tess Larson) and a Forensic Technician (Frankie Cruz). They work under a Defense Attorney who
was intimidated into the job as a result of a possible arrest because of drug possession.
Every week, the team leader must choose a case that has been closed. They have five days to figure
out what details in the case which could have by any chance caused a false conviction of an innocent
person. They must go through past interviews, witnesses, photos of the crime scenes and any other
information that could be in the case files.
The episode that I chose was, A Simple Man, it is about how a man, Leo Scarlata, was convicted of
arson and murder. It was proven that he had a mental deficiency as the results of an IQ, Intelligence
Quotient, test his score was 70. The average score for an IQ test was 100, anything below that score
means that individual is cognitively impaired. He should not have been charged for the crime or give
the punishment that he received, but the score was not low enough.

East Of Eden Fate Analysis
Everyone must make choices in their lifetime or trust that fate will work in their favor. In John
Steinbeck s East of Eden, choices and the debate of if there is free will over fate and predestination is
a major theme in the novel and motivates the characters actions.
The first time this debate of free will vs. fate is mentioned in when Adam, Samuel Hamilton, and Lee
are naming the twins. The men are searching in the bible when they come across Genesis 4:7, where
God is speaking to Cain about his offering, and the issue that arises is that because We are all children
of Cain, then we are destined to be sinful and do wrong. Lee especially is not content with this as an
answer. Lee eventually finds an answer he sees acceptable in the original Hebrew writing, where the
Hebrew word, timshel thou mayest that gives a choice, to man between good and evil.
The possibility of a man making his own choices and mistakes is significant to Caleb Trask as well
because he knows he isn t nice or perfect in any way, and that his mother is an awful person. At first
from this information Cal gathers that he is destined to follow in her footsteps of hatred and the
suffering of others, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The savage s whole existence is public ruled by law of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men Ayn Rand : The Fountain head, 1943. The idea of privacy is as old as Bibalical notion of creation of progenies on earth. Even Adam and Eve tried to hide their nudity with leaves. • 3. How Did Saddam Hussein Impact The Environment Donor Letter Our organization Nature Iraq does really important work to support the Mesopotamian Marshlands. Our work has changed the environment for the better. For thousands of years, the marshlands influence the culture by us using what we had around us in our environment like reeds to build most of our belongings. Some examples of this are our houses, little rafts, etc. One other way we have been influenced by the environment is that we had learned to catch our own fresh fish and sell them for money. Since in the Marshlands we don t have roads we learned to build boats and rafts and we use those as types of transportation and for collecting reeds and food. Saddam Hussein was so vicious that once he was about to end this brutal attack he didn t even let the plants die by wilting, he just had to burn the plants down to a crisp. • 4. Differences Between Greek Theatre And Theatre Opera and theater share many similarities especially since the former is influenced by the latter. In his text, A Short History of Opera, Donald Grout defines opera as a drama in music: a dramatic action, exhibited on stage with scenery by actors in costume, the words conveyed entirely or for the most part by singing, and the whole sustained and amplified by orchestral music (4). Opera literally translates to work. The first known opera that was performed was in 1597. However, interestingly enough, the word opera was not used until 1634 (Grout 1). The origins of seventeenth century opera can be traced back to Greek drama and medieval theatre. Throughout the seventeenth century, many different kinds of operas can be found from countries such as Italy, Germany, and England. In order to fully understand opera and its inner workings, it is important to locate and learn the origin of opera. Greek drama is said to be the model on which the creators of modern opera at the end of the sixteenth century based their work on (Grout 11). There are substantial differences between Greek drama and opera. For example, in Greek theater, the cast was made up of only men and young boys (Grout 13). Also, it is important to note that these plays were not sung entirely. Rather, many parts were spoken out loud like the singing was left to the chorus (Grout 12). The chorus s main function was to express opinions or give advice. They also conveyed emotions for the audience to react to (Grout 12). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A lot of music and other sorts of entertainment are being distributed for free all over the internet. What some people do not think of are the consequences that will be faced if they get caught. Not only is the distributor at risk for getting caught but those of us that download the software illegally can be charged. • 6. My Reading To Remember Reading To Remember When I was a little kid growing up, my parents would read me books every night sometimes multiple books at a time. Books that were read to me and the books I read when I was in elementary school were and still are my favorite books. Reading is something that I enjoy if the book covers the right topic, books like the Percy Jackson series, Magic Treehouse, the Stink series and Bananas In Pyjamas. These stories remind me of a time when I had no responsibilities and no stress. I wasn t the only one in my family who enjoyed children s books. My parents also found joy in reading me books. A children s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children s story in the slightest. (Lewis) C.S. Lewis is a famous novelist who wrote numerous books over his lifetime. My favorite childhood memories revolve around the stories that I was told. All throughout elementary school teachers would constantly nonstop preach about how reading was important and how reading was supposed to improve creativity and memory. Teachers would take time out of the school day to read to us, while reading the book to the class, often the teacher would stop reading and ask us questions about what we have read so far. On top of books being read to the class, we would have to read books on our own. Reading didn t stop there multiple book projects each and every year on top of all the reading already done in class. • 8. Observation Of A Korean Restaurant SEOUL KIMCHI I have been interested in Korean culture since high school. Therefore, I chose to observe a Korean restaurant in Manchester. I visited Seoul Kimchi in Upper Brook Street twice on Thursday, 5pm to 6pm and Saturday 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Seoul Kimchi is located in a strategic location. Vehicles heading to the city from Wilmslow Road pass Upper Brook Street, so it is a busy road. The restaurant is white in colour so it is easily differentiated among other restaurants in the block like Subway and Zaytoon. It is a small shop accommodating 20 people at one time. During both period I visited, almost all seats are occupied. The restaurant workforce consists of four chefs (three male and one female), a dishwasher, waiter, and waitress. All chefs wore white as in most restaurants and attendants wore black. It reminds me of Harley Davidson riders who wear black as they do not show any dirt. Perhaps the same belief applies here as restaurant attendants should look clean all the time. The menu was bilingual (English and Korean) to cater all nationality but customers often ask further details such as the ingredients of the food. Customers especially non Korean must feel insecure eating food outside their culture so they ask for assurance. The situation implies that customers seriously care about what they consume especially food. When ordering, I noticed customers would point on the menu for a smoother communication with the waiter. Hence, human strive to make life easier. After ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. American Hustle Movie Analysis The Art of Survival I ve always had a particular fondness for movies that made me think. I love long, drawn out movie scripts that include lots of plot twists, where the movies intent and message is not always clear right up front. This particular reason is why I chose to evaluate the movie American Hustle. I really enjoy watching this movie because of the overall story, the characters, and the actors that were cast in this production. The movie, American Hustle, is a comedy drama that is loosely based on the real life FBI sting, called ABSCAM, that took place in the late 1970 s and early 1980 s. The movie centers around two con artist named Irving Rosenfeld, played by Christian Bale, and Sydney Prosser, played by Amy Adams, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My favorites were Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, and Robert De Niro. The transformation that Bale put himself through in order to play this role was incredible. He has a history of gaining and losing weight for various roles but I had never actually seen this for myself until I watched this movie. Bale gained 43 pounds, shaved his head to produce a realistic comb over, and changed his posture by slouching which shortened his height by 3 inches and resulted in a herniated disc. Jennifer Lawrence was very good in this film. I love how she can immerse herself into any character, bring them to life, and still have pieces of her own personality shine through. Even though Robert De Niro s part in this movie was practically nonexistent, he still made a lasting impression on me. He played the part of a legendary mob boss and casino owner named Victor Tellegio. I felt this character fit De Niro so well because he has this serious demeanor and at times can look very intimidating. In his scene, De Niro is sitting down at a pool table with the sheikh and a couple of other mob bosses as well as Bradley Coopers character, and he attempts to talk to the sheikh in English. Symbiotic Relationships are interactions between two species and how they affect each other. There are three different types of symbiotic relationships Mutualism, Commensalism, and Parasitism. • 13. Ophelia, By William Shakespeare Essay Ophelia is a terminal character in Hamlet, whose death is caused by a lack of self control and self knowledge. Her father controls her life, and when he dies, her life is essentially over. This poses the question: why does the death of Polonius bring on the complete collapse and destruction of Ophelia? Polonius controls Ophelia, and does a substantial amount of her thinking. Without him, she has no direction in her life and no way to express herself as she has been so suppressed her entire life, and all of a sudden she is free. She does not know what to do with herself. It is possible that Hamlet s rejection of Ophelia contributes to her madness, it is possible that her not being a virgin contributes to it, and it is also possible that she has lost all control due to the series of events that have proven her lack of worth in this patriarchal society. This essay will argue that with her father gone, Ophelia no longer knows what to do with her life, and has no intended purpose since no one is invested in her life anymore. In order to clearly understand the dynamics between Polonius and Ophelia, it is crucial to understand Polonius as a person. First, it is important to look at what people in the kingdom, specifically Hamlet, think about him. By comparing the what people think about him and his actions, his character can accurately be predicted. Hamlet appears to be the most reputable character to take opinions from in this instance, because he is not involved in the scandal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Literature And Film From The Late Nineteenth- And Early... In focusing on literature and film from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Somerville demonstrates how emerging models of homo and heterosexuality at the turn of the twentieth century were embedded within discourses of race and racialization, particularly bifurcated constructions of black and white bodies (175). Noting that the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson Supreme Court case, in which the government s right to determine an individual s racial identity was affirmed, emerged at the same time as the discourse of sexology, Somerville explains that it was not merely a historical coincidence that the classification of bodies as either homosexual or heterosexual emerged at the same time that the United States was aggressively constructing and policing the boundary between black and white bodies (3). Somerville argues that this new polarization of bodies and focus on desires reflected a similar, simultaneous shift in racial thinking. Over the same time period, the cultural figure of the mulatto gave way to a new vision of the races as natural opposites, and increasing numbers of legal and social mechanisms were put into place to prevent people of different races from having sex with one another. Thus the emergence of new sexual categories mirrored, and was profoundly influenced by, the hardening of the color line, the stark division of Americans into strictly segregated categories of black and white. Public policy can be generally defined as a law systems, strict measures, courses of action, and funding issues that about a given topic promulgated by a governmental entity or its representatives. Abortion is one issue that has been a matter of subject in government and citizens concerning its public policy. Over years the government has made decisions concerning the policy towards abortions in the United States of America. Abortion plays a major role in public policy on the issue of whether or not it is a public decision or a woman s own private decision. In certain views of citizens in the United States, abortion is not seen as an issue that should be banned by governmental laws. They believe that it is a private decision that should be made by a woman and her medical doctor. John M. Swomley, a Ph.D. graduate in political science, saw that abortion per se is not morally wrong (Swomley). He thought that this was a personal matter that should be decided by oneself or a medical examiner. The alternate to private decision is compulsory pregnancy if the government makes laws prohibiting or restricting abortions prior to the third trimester, according to John Swomley. In this particular novel, Young explores what it means to rediscover history, and how history is continually redefined. Particular attention in the novel is given to public history, and how highlighting people otherwise lost to time can completely change how an event is perceived. Young also makes reference to some of the countless books he serendipitously came across in his research surrounding the American Revolution, and the event that would come to be known as the Boston Tea Party. Young pulls from his large selection of evidence to make his points throughout the novel. In order to understand Hewes, Young delved into the psychology of memory and references noted psychologist Daniel Schachter. (xiii.) By understanding why someone remembers an event in a particular way, gives insight into how memories are consolidated. Hewes memory for a man is age is remarkable to say the least. The emotion tied to a particular memory is able to enhance it (xii). Young seems to use this evidence to lend creditability to the way that Hewes remembers particular events such as the Boston Massacre. At the same time, Young explores while Hewes would be able to remember more during the interviews for the second bibliography written about him. Young implies that the first interview essentially helped to focus Hewes memory which allowed him to remember more easily with Thatcher in his second interview as well as remembering new anecdotes. The first portion of the novel deals mostly with Hewes life and why he lived the life that he did. Young s portrayal of a young Hewes, ever defiant, immediately causes a reader to reminisce of his or her own childhood. It soon becomes evidently clear that where one ended up in life depended ... • 19. Spain And Spanish Culture When examining any culture, pieces of other ideologies and cultural normalities different than the foremost culture prevail, intertwining different cultures together. Spain, historically, has been known to be a passing point for a wide variety of religious groups. During the ancient world, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish peoples coexisted, each ultimately contributing to Spanish culture. Starting around 701 C.E., Muslim forces began to expand into areas around the Middle East, gradually broadening this land mass to reach Spain. Initially, Arab invaders were met with vigorous resistance; however, as time went on, invaders experienced little opposition, allowing them to reap city after city. Within the newly Arab conquered cities, other religious groups faced little discrimination. Additionally, this conquest established the ever present influence of Islam on Spanish culture. In this case, Spain adopted Islamic cultural innovations such as: forms of writing, religious aspects, architectural styles, and materials supplied for said architectural innovations. Trailing into the modern world, traces of Islamic culture are evidently intertwined into Spanish culture. Due to Spain s rich history in interweaving cultures, it can be said that Spanish culture is intensely influenced by Islamic culture through the invasion of Arab military in medieval time, visually retaining influence through culture, religion, and architecture. At the beginning of the early 700s, Muslims from the Arabian Peninsula began their conquest by convincing nearby Germanic tribes to surrender; though it was not until they travelled across the Straits of Gibraltar and attacked around 711 that their expansion truly began. As stated earlier, other religious groups within Muslim Spain faced little discrimination. This impartial society could be explained by the Treaty of Tudmir. This treaty promised that [Christians] will not be coerced in matters of religion, their churches will not be burned, nor will sacred objects be taken from the realm (Treaty of Tudmir). The Horatio Alger Myth of being able to move upward on merit and hard work alone is an ideology of the 1950 s that clings to the coattails of America s lower class even today. Though the thought of moving upwards in society is hopeful, it is not always plausible. The barriers seperating people in the lower class and upper middle class is growing. Even if that security wasn t something that would have essentailly come to them. People of minorities weren t treated fairly, neither were women. However the ideal of a white man in the 1950 s, working and being able to live comfortably with a family and send his children to school was something that everyone wanted to attain, and still want to attain today. • 21. Sita Brahmachari Red Leaves Red Leaves Draft 4 Red Leaves by Sita Brahmachari is a great book for an IB student to understand and explore the global context of orientation in space and time. Red Leaves is about three kids named Aisha, Iona and Zak, and how their lives become interlaced in the city of Home Oaks, in the United Kingdom. The story of Red Leaves includes 3 key aspects of orientation in space and time; the importance of personal histories, the concept of home, and the interconnectedness of individuals and civilizations. By reading this book, IB students will learn the importance of personal history, and they will learn to appreciate people for who they are. The characters in Red Leaves learn that everyone has a back story, and they learn to respect it. For instance, Aisha is a refugee from Somalia who fled because of the Civil War in her country. She has been living with Liliana, her foster mother. This teaches IB students about how someone s past can affect their lives even now. Aisha s past affected her personality by making her a stronger person, and letting her stay true to her roots and religion. Another example is Iona. • 22. Analysis Of The Film Gladiators The film Gladiators was about the reign or Marcus Aurelius coming to an end. When Marcus chooses Maximus, an army general and a powerful man with good morals, over his own son Commodus, to be heir to the throne of the Roman Empire, Commodus is enraged and sentences Maximus and his family to death. Maximus escapes his death sentence but is unable to save his family. The loss of his family causes his willpower to disappear which allows him to be captured and put into the games of the Gladiators until death. The only thing keeping him fighting is that he has a chance to rise to the top and take revenge on the man who destroyed everything he loved, the new emperor Commodus. In my opinion, I would say the protagonist of this film was Maximus by far. Maximus was an army general with good morals, a strong man who cared for others, a family man who would do anything for the ones he loved, but most of all, he had courage. He wasn t afraid to do what needed to be done when it was necessary. In the film, Maximus said something along the lines of I am required to kill when it is necessary, not for enjoyment. His internal compass spins correctly, unlike the antagonists. I would deem Commodus the antagonist of this film. First, he kills Marcus Aurelius, the most loved ruler of Roam and a wonderful man, once he finds out that he isn t the chosen heir to the Roman Empire. Second, he sentences Maximus and his entire to family to death in a brutal, inhumane way. Commodus has some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The only drawback of this approach being the scalability issue. Every site that carries out multi homing using the routing approach adds an entry to the global routing table, thereby making it a difficult choice for multi homing, as far as scalability is concerned [5]. The different routing approach are as discussed below: a) IPv6 Multi homing with BGP PI address space: Using Provider Independent (PI) addressing space is considered as the most effective technique for the ISPs and large enterprises. However, for small ISPs this is not a good solution as it involves the use of BGP as well as causes issues related to scalability. The first step involved is to obtain a PI allocation, i.e., to obtain your own IP address space or the permission to advertise a route [3]. As prescribed, the minimum PI allocation that can be done is a /48. This is the most expensive of all the approaches due to its requirement of a PI space as well as an Autonomous System (AS) numbers. On February 22nd, 2012, Brown participated in the processing of the vehicle with Joe Pasternak from the Montana Crime Lab. Brown testified Pasternak collected a swab of stain on the driver s side dash and marked it as Item 15. Brown could not located the evidence to deliver to the Crime Lab. Digital cinema, while making use of new and different technologies such as animation, is the next step in the evolution of film. Contrary to what certain theorists believe, it is the most efficient and most artistically inclined way to create films as it offers a world of possibilities. The Rescuers And Aid For Jews During The Holocaust In studying the rescuers and aid to Jews during the Holocaust, there are few, if any, factors that prove to universally explain why people decided to help. These people defied most demographics; class, country, religion, and even included anti Semites, though economic and practical determinations were involved so much as one s ability to help is determined by economic/practical restraints. Even so, most, if not all, of these people did have the propensity for helping and service to other prior to helping Jews of the Holocaust. Nechama Tec and later Perry Lendon found this to be true, showing that in these people was an instinct to help, regardless of their feelings towards Jews. This characteristic coincided with independent, self reliant people who felt less attached to social demands and saw helping as a fact rather than heroic act. While these characterize individuals, the level at which specific countries were willing to help Jews did differ. Denmark and Bulgaria helped more than countries like Romania. In Denmark, there were a smaller amount of Jews and most were already assimilated into society before the Nazis came in. This allowed them to easily blend and hid within Denmark, and eventually Jews were helped to escape in 1943 as the Nazi encroached into Denmark. Roethke makes the most important statement in the last line of his poem, ? waltzed me off to bed Still clinging to your shirt (479). Clinging, and all that the word implies: fear, sadness, love and admiration, is both the greatest strength and obstacle the boy will encounter in his relationship with his father. In contrast to My Papa s Waltz , D. H. Lawrence s Piano is a man s remembrance of a happy childhood. Lawrence sets a dream like tone in the first stanza of his poem as we are taken back through the years to a man s boyhood. Taken back by a song, the man is transported back to the Sundays of his childhood where he would sit beneath the piano as his mother played hymns. While melancholy, Lawrence shows us that his persona yearns for the happy childhood he once had with the line, The glamour Of childish days is upon me, my manhood is cast Down in the flood of remembrance, I weep like a child for the past (574). The author establishes a connection with readers through his use of music as a means of passage through time with the statement, In spite of myself, the insidious mastery of song Betrays me back,? (574). Through this use of music and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is absolutely amazing how the viciousness of a single person could affect the lives of so many people. Several people had begun to wonder what might have been the cause of this massacre. One of the causes brought to attention was the fact that Virginia Tech College didn t take proper responsibility when notified by faculty and students that Cho may be a dangerous individual. If fact, if the school would have looked further into the gunman s history and the many complaints people were constantly filing against him then maybe this wouldn t have happened. However, we must not go back in time and say what if because that will not change what has already happened. Another cause for this tragedy may be the violent movies, music, or television shows. • 45. The Importance Of The Opium Wars In China The Opium Wars took place in China from 1839 to 1860, between Western forces and the Qing dynasty, which ruled China from 1644 to 1912. The first Opium War occurred from 1839 to 1832 and was fought between China and Britain. In the 17th and 18th centuries, European demand for Chinese goods (particularly silk, porcelain, and tea) created a trade deficit between Great Britain and Qing Imperial China. In 1839, China s Emperor had enough of British drug smuggling and suspended all British trade with China, beginning the first Opium War. In 1842, the Qing Dynasty was forced to sign the Treaty of Nanking, which granted protection and immunity to Britain, and opened five treaty ports to foreign suppliers, among other things. The second Opium War, also referred to as the Anglo French War in China, occurred from 1856 to 1860, and was fought by Britain and France against China. The failure of the Treaty of Nanking to satisfy British goals of enhanced trade and diplomatic relations led to the second war. In both opium wars, the foreign powers were victorious and obtained commercial advantages and legal and territorial concessions in China. The wars began an era of unequal treaties on Qing sovereignty that helped weaken the dynasty and eventually lead to the collapse in favor of republican China. The opium wars are significant because they humiliated the Chinese, who still considered themselves a great and powerful empire. The wars were also a clear example in showing the world that China could be pushed around by distant foreign powers. Contemporary Chinese still feel the need to prove themselves on the world stage because of this. Following the Opium Wars and the Treaty of Nanking, the Qing dynasty struggled to maintain control and legitimacy. Searching for an alternative, hundreds of thousands of disillusioned peasants joined what became known as the Taiping Rebellion. It was a civil war in China that lasted from 1850 to 1864 and was fought between Qing dynasty and the Christian millenarian movement of the Heavenly Kingdom of Peace, which was created by Hong Xiuquan. Hong thought God had sent him to rid the world of evil. The Taiping Rebellion claimed to herald a new era of economic and social justice. Taiping ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dgs Is More Advantageous Than Pbg Or Ebg Structures DGS is more advantageous than PBG or EBG structures: (1) For implementing EBG structures, a very large area is required to implement the periodic pattern and it is also very difficult to define the unit element of EBG structure whereas DGS structures has properties similar to EBG and the geometry of DGS can be one or very few etched structures which is very simpler and also does not require large area for implementation of it. (2) DGS can be easily designed and implemented. It has higher precision with rectangular shaped defect structures. Therefore it is very good option to extend its practical applications. • 49. East Of Eden Fate Analysis Everyone must make choices in their lifetime or trust that fate will work in their favor. In John Steinbeck s East of Eden, choices and the debate of if there is free will over fate and predestination is a major theme in the novel and motivates the characters actions. The first time this debate of free will vs. fate is mentioned in when Adam, Samuel Hamilton, and Lee are naming the twins. The men are searching in the bible when they come across Genesis 4:7, where God is speaking to Cain about his offering, and the issue that arises is that because We are all children of Cain, then we are destined to be sinful and do wrong. Lee especially is not content with this as an answer. Lee eventually finds an answer he sees acceptable in the original Hebrew writing, where the Hebrew word, timshel thou mayest that gives a choice, to man between good and evil. The possibility of a man making his own choices and mistakes is significant to Caleb Trask as well because he knows he isn t nice or perfect in any way, and that his mother is an awful person.
