Wagon Train Leader Analysis
After we got done talking individually we talked as a group about setting up our
wagon train. The first thing about the wagon train the we discussed was that thing
we will be gathering together like medicine just in case someone gets sick on the
trail. So the medicines that we gathered were sage, willow bark, bee pollen, red
clover, and beet root. The other thing that we talked about was who is going to be
our wagon train leader. After we thought about what type of things would make a
good leader like someone that is responsible for most of the decisions on the trail,
someone that can tell when to start moving and when to stop moving for the day, and
someone that can find somewhere nice to camp for the night. So after all of that we

Essay On Emergency Student Loans
Let s continue Student s Growth through Emergency Student Loans
An emergency is defined as an unexpected need that could not have been reasonably
foreseen. In today s tough financial climate, more and more students are facing
difficulties with increasing cost of tuition fees and living expenses. Sometimes
student s ability to pay can change drastically. For example a parent may get fired or
suffer a pay cut. As a result, many bright students are at risk of having to quit their
study due to financial crisis.
Emergency student loans are short term loans that are geared towards helping
students cover education related costs living expenses. The uncertain financial
environment may cause sudden changes in the costs of tuition or other expenses and
emergency student loans are the best way to cover any unexpected costs. These loans
are processed almost instantly and are disbursed to students within a few hours. The
emergency loan request must be for an emergency, as defined above, Rent etc. for
example is not an Emergency. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The students can apply for an emergency loan before the semester begins, but in that
case he or she won t get it until semester begins. These loans are also available under
less stringent conditions, since the amount disbursed is usually lower compared to
other loans. While these loans may not be ideal for funding an entire degree, they
may be beneficial when any unexpected costs arise. As their name suggests, the
primary objective of emergency student loans is to allow students to work their way
out of unexpected or hidden costs without having to put a stop to their entire
education. And there are fewer restrictions on the use of the money that is borrowed,
meaning that you can spend money on what you need, when you need it. So
Emergency Student loans are the Best medium which continues student s
The Heroic Traits Of Robin Hood
Robin Hood has characteristics commonly associated with both heroes and
criminals, and depending on how other characters interact with Robin, he is either
a hero or a hoodlum. People like the villagers Robin Hood always find food or
money revere him as a saint, as Sir Guy mentioned. However, Sir Guy himself as
well as the Sheriff see Robin as a nasty outlaw who always steals from them.
Contradictory to what Sir Guy believes, Robin Hood is a hero. Only a hero would
be brave enough to steal from people who have the power to execute him so
peasants could have enough food and money to survive. Another heroic trait about
Robin Hood is his generosity, shown in Scene 5 when he selflessly distributed food
to the villagers who couldn t afford it. Robin
Hiroshi Yamauchi s Accomplishments
Hiroshi Yamauchi, the man behind Nintendo s great transition.
Hiroshi Yamauchi was the third president of the Nintendo trading card company.
He followed his grandfather Fusajiro Yamauchi who had founded the company but
died of a stroke in 1940. His early life was a tragic one. He was raised by his
mother, Kimi Yamauchi, after his father left them. He began his schooling in a
boarding school until WWII erupted. He studied law at Waseda University until his
grandfather asked him to take control of his company. He was responsible for moving
the company from the trading card industry into the toy and eventually electronic
gaming business as the company is known today.

An Extremely Brief History of India
The Indus was one of the world s oldest civilisations dating back to 3000BC.
Originating in the south of India, they built complex and mathematically planned
cities. They introduced commerce and agriculture to the region, trading as far as
Mesopotamia. India s history is intricately tied to its geographical location as a
gateway between the East and West. Indias first invaders arrived around 1500 BC. An
invaders paradise, the Aryans invaded from the north in 1500BC, dispersing south
over the next seven hundred years. The Aryans brought strong cultural traditions
including the Caste system and the foundation for many Indian based religions.
Arab traders had been trading since the mid 700s in the region. The Portuguese
were the first Europeans to arrive by 1500. The Portuguese established colonies in
the Region known as Goa. By 1610 they had been chased out by the British. The
East India Company established a factory and Britain s first colony in 1620 in Surat.
For the next three centuries Britain would spread out over the subcontinent until it
had complete rule. The East India Company would take complete control of all
European trade in India. Victory at the Battle of Plassey (1757) transformed the East
Indian Company from a trader to a ruler. A century later the company would be
dissolved with the British Crown accepting administrative responsibility for the
region. The Raj system created by the East India Company and subsequently used by
the British Crown to govern was
An Analysis Of Martin Luther King s I Have A Dream
Every human in this world is promised to something from love to a better country.
Promises are to be true to happen, but sometimes those promises are broken and
never to happen. An example of a promise that did come true was to make racial
justice. This promised was made by Martin Luther King Jr. s in his speech, I Have
a Dream. In his speech, he promised to make racial justice for the reason that there
was no freedom of racism. An example of a promised that did not come true was the
promised made by a leader of a socialist group, Jim Jones. People joined a socialist
group called People s Temple, who were promised by Jones to move to Jonestowna
place that he created for the people that Jim Jones authorized. Jonestown is located on

As Jonestown People work hard they also did not have the liberty to at least have a
good meal in the day. Layton explains the food that they would eat throughout the
day, Received a thick slice of cassava bread with brown syrup on it...We don t
waste food here. It takes too long to find it, plant it, grow it, then cook it (Layton
168). Jim Jones did not pay Jonestown People to work, so the least he should have
done is feed them good. To add on, Peoples Templedid not have the liberty to take a
nice shower after a long day of sweating from work. Layton explains Jim Jones
rules towards showering, Planning one s shower was important because showers
also had restrictions. Anyone reported to have allowed the water to run longer than
two minutes was assigned to the Learning Crew for a day (Layton 184). To
continue, People from Jonestown did not have the liberty to live with their own
family, Our cabins, tin roofed and small, could have housed families, lovers,
children, with their parents, but instead we were partitioned into nonbonding
arrangements (Layton 186). The reason for not having a close relationship with
your own family was not allowed because it was a sin to Jones. Layton explains her
relationship that she needed to have with her own mother when they were in
Jonestown, There was a fine line between too little and too much empathy. Too much
compassion meant you d break under torture and questioning by the enemy. Too
little proved you could become a turncoat and traitor to Father (Layton 187).
However, Martin Luther King Jr. wanted people to live with liberty and have
citizenship rights. As he recalls the rights that every human being has in America,
This [promissory] note was a promised that all men, yes, black men as well as white
men, would be guaranteed the unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of
Happiness (King Jr.). People
Jekyll And Hyde Differences
There are many differences between the characters in the book Jekyll and Hyde
and the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentleman which portrays Jekyll and
Hyde as the movies main characters. When I watched the movie, I noticed three
main differences those are: in the movie they are trying to use Hyde while in the
book they are trying to find and arrest him for murder, Jekyll doesn t hide Hyde in
the movie, and Jekyll doesn t try to control Hyde as much as he does in the book
then in the movie. The first differencethat I will focus on is that in the movie they
are trying to use Hyde for good and in the book, they are trying to arrest Hyde for
murder. In the book Hyde murders a man by the name of Sir Danvers Carew. A maid

The Life Of Britney Spears
I ve been watching, along with the rest of the world, a very sad unraveling of a
human life. The recent events in the life of Britney Spears may not be anything
new in the world of celebrity, but it certainly has been one of the most put on
public display breakdowns in recent entertainment history. I was talking to my
children last night about how truly sad the whole situation is, and how more
people need to comprehend that even if they were never a fan of Britney or her
music, they still need to realize that this is a person who is struggling and
definitely in need of help. I have read countless statements by people who have
gone as far as to say that she should just give up and die already.....I m tired of
hearing about it. That is one of the more appalling statements I ve seen. I will go
on record as saying I have not ever been a fan of her music, or thought she has
made the best choices in her personal life perhaps (at least in how these things were
portrayed in public), but in no way would I wish what she is going through on any
human being. As someone who interviews musicians all the time, and now 1 celeb
as well, it is more than ever clear to me that they are regular people like the rest of
us. Would we expect to be treated that way if we were struggling? Does being in
the public eye mean they put themselves out there for public ridicule and should
just deal with it? I can only say that if she were my sister or daughter I would be in
tears every day to see her

stuffing them into suits which leads to the cause of the foul odor from the

Character Analysis Of Will Hunting
Analysis of Will Hunting Advice for the Foster Parents The fictional character Will
Hunting is an orphan so I will address his foster care parents in my paper. Will
Hunting is a brilliant underachieving gifted student. As his foster care parents you
need to realize he has learned to underachieve early in his academic because he has
already mastered the material easily and he has not had to push himself to succeed
academically (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). Will has never been placed in a nurturing
environment so you will need to realize he uses his humor as a defense
mechanism. If you learn to appreciate his humor you realize it is an extremely
enjoyable part of his personality (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). He will need tons of
emotional support because as a gifted child he experiences the world around him
in a heightened state (Cross, Tracy, et al. 2018). You should be upfront with Will
about his IQ and abilities this will lead him to better deal with his abilities (Ruff,
Deborah, 2011). You will need to help him learn to prioritize to better help his gifts
flourish and on the same hand you will also have to help him learn how to let go
of things that are out of his control (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). Try to help Will pursue
his math abilities and other things he finds extremely interesting (Ruff, Deborah,
2011). The stress of raising a gifted child can be more unique then raising other
children. It has been compared to raising a special needs child (Renati, Robert, et
al., 2016, p.6). One study found gifted students long term happiness is directly
related to whether they thought their parents were warm and supportive (Renati,
Robert, et al., 2016, p.6). The main sources of stress for parents raising gifted
children have been identified as: lack of parenting alliance, stress that stems from
finding helpful educational strategies, lack of persistence, and lack of management
of family routines (Renati, Robert, et al, 2016, 13 14). So if you can come up with
a plan between the two of you to try to combat these issues ahead of time they may
save you stress in the long run. The relationship between the parents or care takers of
the gifted child must be strong in order to aid in the success of raising the
Essay on Effective Communication
Barriers to Effective Communication
Even though an individual s backgrounds and beliefs can affect the process of
communication, one must utilize the different processes and components to achieve
effective communication. Because barriers block the listening process causing
misunderstanding that may block the flow of information between individuals.
Therefore, this misunderstanding may blur the lines of communication utilized within
the criminal justice system.
The basic concept of communication is interaction between two or more people that
results in the passing of information. However, for this process to happen effectively
one must understand the different methods and standards required to achieve the
process because without this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The officials involved in the Omaha chase had to be able to transmit the information
using the radio about the dangers that they faced to protect the others assisting
(Dorland, 2012).
Understanding, Receiving, Feedback, and Retransmitting Although, the dispatcher
received the information he or she would need to understand the fullness of the
situation by giving feedback. This feedback allows the sender transmit further
information so that those on the other end of the radio will receive and understand
what is transpiring at the officials location (Dorland, 2012). In a way these five steps
became known as the basis of communication. Because the information goes through
a process that requires the information to transmit through a route that allows both
the sender and the receiver to process information until they decode the entire
conversation. However, no matter how well a communication process works the
people involved will always have barriers that can block the communication process.
Because each person has his or her own backgrounds and beliefs that will cause
barriers to be overcome (Wallace Roberson, 2009).
Communication Barriers Even with the best communication process, the initial
receiver s confusion of the information received may come from the distractions
around them. Therefore, one must understand what causes these barriers and come
up with a solution because

1)Michael Faraday Michael faraday was born on September 22 1791 and became
one of the most influential scientists in history having received very little
education since he was from a poor family. Michael Faraday became famous for
having invented the electric motor. Faraday made oe of the most significant
discoveries in the atomic theory. His discovery led people to the idea that atoms
had an electrical component. Faraday conducted an experiment to prove this idea.
In his experiment Faraday placed two opposite electrons in a solution of water
containing a dissolved compound. One of the elements accumulated on one
electrode of the dissolved compound and the other element deposited on the
opposite electrode. To Faraday it was clear that electrical forces were responsible
for the joining of atoms in compounds. Robert Millikan Robert Millikan was born
March 22, 1868 in Morrison, Illinois. Robert Millikan s major discovery in atomic
theory was that electrons and positively charged atoms had mass. Millikan
conducted the Oil Drop experiment to prove his idea. In his experiment he sprayed
oil droplets into a sample chamber. Some of the droplets fell through the pinhole
into an area between two plates (one positive and one negative). Particles that did
not capture any electrons fell to the bottom plate due to gravity. Particles that did
capture one or more electrons were attracted to the positive upper plate and either
floated upward or fell more slowly. 2a) Indium comes from the

Euphrates rivers. The rivers were good for fishing and a good source of water.
Some say that this fertile crescent was the real garden of Eden. The natural barriers

developed the civilization. Herodotus was quoted as saying the following: in

he had multiple personalities and was therefore not aware of the crimes

The French Revolution Of 1848 Research Paper
When viewing significant landmarks in history often one looks at extravagant
architectural marvels where important events took place looking past the streets
where history is written in blood. The June Days of the French Revolution of 1848
tells such a history where lawlessness, rebellion, and economic depression culminated
in an uprising in Paristhat divided the city between insurgents and loyalists. Thus the
streets were a key battleground in the June Days and French Revolutionof 1848
dictating the conflict s outcome and serving a variety of interests. Their significance
to the French Revolution of 1848 is further evident in their systematic eradication
under Louis Napoleon Bonaparte and Georges EugГЁne Haussmann. The roots of the

The election of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte as president ended the French
Revolution of 1848 and signified a new direction for France. However, Napoleon
eager not to forgot the lessons of June Days commissioned a massive renovation
campaign of Paris headed by Georges EugГЁne Haussmann. Haussmann expanded
the streets and created boulevards as to arguably make the streets much more
difficult to barricade. Many of the small narrow streets and residential buildings of
the inner city as a result were destroyed to make way for Haussmann s wide
boulevards. Thousands of people were forced to relocate to the outer edges of the
city. This is important because it ensured that a revolt like the June Days would be
much more difficult in the future if possible at all. Napoleon s efforts to destroy the
inner city neighborhoods and streets further legitimizes their significance in the
French Revolution of
Disadvantages Of High-Stakes Testing
In spite of critics, educational reform in Texas continued to rely on testing in an effort
to meet accountability required at the state level. Calls for accountability seem to

that tests serve high stakes accountability functions, professional testing standards can
be easily compromised. In accountability contexts, testresults decide which students

Associations to which test specialists belong agree that the validity standard depends
on the test s context and it s used. A test may be validated for some uses and not
others (Smith et al., 2000). McDonnell (1997) found that the political community
believed the benefits of the assessment policy would outweigh any harm that might
be caused by less than reliable or invalid tests. Some may wonder why teaching to the
test is not a good practice and a healthy basic skills emphasis. They may even suggest
that teaching to the test results is basic instruction even in the least advantaged
educational situations. Research indicates that there is little evidence to indicate that
high stakes accountability testing and reform have had much impact on overall school
performance beyond increased scores on the individual test that was the instrument
of the state policy (Mehrens, 1998). Theory validity of TAAS fell short of
professional standards in other ways: While Texas scores on the math part of the
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) have risen dramatically the
results, perhaps, of all that drill and test practice Texas students made only small
gains in the NAEP reading test between 1992 and 1998, no gain what so ever
between 1993 and 1996 on nationally normed achievement tests in reading, and not
much gain in other subjects...They have not made much gain on the SAT, either
(Schrag, 2000).Since 1999, Texas has begun to administer the Texas Assessment of
Knowledge and Skills exam and has continued to follow the high stakes
consequences for failing the tests at the 3, 6 and 10th grades. This current test battery
has been said to be more difficult than the earlier basic skills exams. One result of the
wide use of exams to measure student achievement has been the growth of alternative
education. The website for the Texas
Critical Care Essay
Critical care is medical care given to patients who required closed and continuous
monitoring from specially trained clinical providers, and usually takes place in
intensive care units or a trauma center. Most of the time, the patients are critically ill
and susceptible for serious complications, and thus, they are placed in special units.
Critical care units are also known for its high technology equipment with advanced
interventions and treatment. These conditions are well known to be contributing
factors of psychological stress experienced by the patients and their families. A recent

Prof Philip Titan Cause and Effect Essay
When people first start reading a book there is one burning question: What is this
story about? It s a heavy question, especially for a fiction novel with so many
fabricated details. You can fix this by saying a story is all about decisions. Of
course, there are other themes, but the entire story is connected by the questions
characters ask themselves and the outcome of their own answers. We can think
about how this mimics real life. How every day we are forced to consider life s
chance situations; some casual, some pressing, but all of them impacting our final
growth as people and those around us to some degree. A good example of this is
when in the book The Outsiders , our protagonist Jonny decided to kill Bob in self
defense, this resulted in Jonny and Ponyboy going on the run. The decisions, the
choices, that were made by Jonny change the course of his and his cohort s entire
lives in an instant directing the whole final tale and story outcome.
In the book the outsiders Ponyboy and many other characters have to make
questionable decisions. A good example of this is, Ponyboy s choiceto walk might
bring up questions. Why does Pony boy walk home alone, even though he knows it
s not safe? Is he just making a foolish choice? Is he
Synthesis Essay On Blue
A Mixture of Blue and Green: Turquoise
Turquoise: a simple adjective describing something of a greenish blue pigment. The
absolutely normal color has much more meaning behind itself than what meets the
eye. The hybrid color of blue and green serves as a representation of myself.
Symbolically, blue inhabits the peaceful and tranquil side to turquoise. Green, the
envious and diplomatic side to turquoise. By themselves blue nor green represent
me, but as a blend of the two colors my image is represented justly. As blue and
green mix to form turquoise they balance each other out to display an exceptional
representation of myself. Blue: an adjective representative of something of a cool and
calming display. According to psychology, blue acts as the friendly and genuine color.
Blue describes my more reserved and peaceful half. Blue can also be advertised as
an authoritative color, but at the same time, honest and sincere. Much like myself, I
may have an authoritative opinion, but I always try to react truthful towards the
situation and sincere of my position. Contrary to the edgier side of blue, it can serve
as a display of reservedness and reliability. Blue can abide in comparison to the quiet

Analysis Of Requiem For A Dream
Requiem for a dream (2000) by Darren Aronofsky
Opening shot
Requiem for a dream is a film directed by Darren Aronofsky and made in 2000,
based on a novel by the same name written in 1978. This film has a unique style
and thrilling, intense, eye opening story in film history of that time. Some people
call it the addiction horror . In this film, you can have a peek at the lives of drug
addicts through their eyes. It traces lives of four protagonists Sara Goldfarb (Ellen
Burstyn), her son Harry (Jared Leto), his girlfriend Marion Silver (Jennifer Connelly)
and Harry s friend Tyrone C. Love (Marlon Wayans). Aronofsky made this film stand
out particularly for his mastered use of mise en scene. So, it is worth pointing out the
techniques he used in this film and the effect they had on the viewer.
The opening shot is focused on Sara and her son Harry. Because of his addiction,
he is continuously selling his mother s television to buy drugs and Sara is
continuously buying it back. This time she even chained her television to a
radiator, that her son would not be able to get it. There is an unpleasant tension
shown with a split down in the middle of the frame showing protagonists on each
side of a locked door, it is a bit like two films put on one screen at the same time. Sara
is looking at Harry through a keyhole, her vision of her son is obscured by the door.
The director gives more visual information to the viewer of the metaphorical barer
between Harry and his mother. So,
Allen Ginsberg Beat Generation Analysis
In and around the 1950s Allen Ginsberg, along with several other great poets
interested in changing social consciousness and defying conventional writing, became
known as the Beat generation. Beat poetry focuses on the battle against social
conformity and literary tradition. These Beat poets, known for their unconventional
lifestyle, unorthodox political views, rowdy behavior, and experimental drug use,
caused a lot of controversy. In Ginsberg s Howland Other Poems, Ginsberg employs a
particularly confrontational and crude writing style to challenge the heteronormative,
nuclear driven society that promotes the marginalisation and ostracisation of
minorities and individuals whose ideology does not agree with that of the rest of the
nation. Ginsberg believes that American society remains gravely repressed and his
writing works to challenge that. Ginsberg, along with the other poets of the beat
generation, introduce all the social taboos of the time such as heterosexual as well as
homosexual sex, drugs, and addiction, into their writings. Ginsberg became one of
the most influential poets in literary history, preaching his personal truths and
promoting the idea of breaking the mold of the idealistic nuclear American society.
Bond 2
At the time Ginsberg began to write, this idea of the perfect family, (working
father, stay at home wife, kids and a dog), had been a widely spread idealistic way
of life followed by the mass mainstream population of America. Although equality of
opportunity is central to the concept of the American Dream, only those who fit the
mold of the straight laced American man receive the privilege of equal opportunity.
Ginsberg believes this concept of the idealistic American Dream proceeds to do
nothing but harm minorities much like himself. Ginsberg saw the best minds of [his]
generation destroyed by madness... demanding instantaneous lobotomy... (1 69). The
harmful and destructive ideology of the great American dream remains engraved in
our society dating all the way back to The Bill of Rights, 1789, No person shall be...
deprived of life, liberty, or property and Allen Ginsbergstrived to dismantle this
falsely constructed ideology. Ginsberg uses his sexaulity as a prime

New Entrants The threat of new entrants is moderate. Moderate because of the high
cost of entry, but the relatively successful business model Best Buy has outlined.
Substitutes The threat of substitutes is low. Yes you can shop at Wal Mart for digital

Strengths
Best Buy provides good quality products at a great price. They also understand that
customers want hassle free shopping, which draws consumers into their store to

Personal Reflection Of My Language In Spanish And
English
Growing up, Spanish and English were spoken at home. My mom never pushed a
language on me; she more often than not just reflected what language I was
speaking. From a young age, I developed an affinity for speaking English. I was
hearing it in the classroom and around my neighborhood and I began to associate
Spanish with shame and otherness. I strove to speak more and more English at
home. My mother would speak to me in Spanish and I would solely respond in
English. Uprooted from my predominately Latinx neighborhood to a predominately
white neighborhood, I felt I needed to be different, be whiter to fit in. My ability to
speak Spanish in my childhood was one of my main connections to my culture. I
used it to contradict the color of my skin, to feel accepted as a Puerto Rican
woman. In a predominantly Latinx neighborhood in the Bronx, Spanish allowed
me to tap into other Latinx cultures and feel a sense of unity amongst my peers, but
a simple move thirty minutes north completely changed my experiences with
language. I no longer discussed my heritage, I did not speak Spanish at school and I
benefited from my white passing privilege as much as I could. Moreover, in a rich
neighborhood, all I heard from classmates and their families was the lowly
perspectives they had of Latinx people. We were all referred to Mexicans and day
laborers so I decided I could not allow myself to be perceived that way. I did not want
anyone to think less of me when I was already the notably
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain Essay
Huck Finn, the protagonist in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, comes from the
lowest level of society and yet his personality is more pure than anyone else. Huck s
father is the town drunk, and because he avoids his father, Huck is frequently
homeless. The difference in background distances Huck from the mainstream society
making him skeptical to change, as he is when the Widow Douglas attempts to
reform him. Although he was not integrated into society, he has his own moral
outlook on life that is pure. Huck encounters the slave Jim who is a factor into his
parting from the corrupted society they live in. Jim puts a hole into Huck s
understanding of the world; Huck learned that slaves are property, not actually

Widow Douglas because of the difference in background and sex. The Widow and

enters for the first time a genuinely evil force into the novel, in the form of the

Cinematic Techniques In American Beauty
I utilize two scenes from the movie American Beauty, the two office scenes including
Lester (Kevin Spacey) and Brad (Barry Del Sherman). The cinematic techniques are
identified with mise en scene, which is the term used to portray everything put into
the scene . I concentrate on decor, lighting and props, costumes, body language (e.g.,
posture, gestures and facial expressions) and composition. I additionally take a
gander at how these components are confined as far as camera stature, camera point
and camera separate, all of which fall under the class of cinematography. The scene
seems right off the bat the movie. Toward the start of American Beauty, the hero,

the room itself is monstrous, utilitarian, faintly lit, ineffectively enhanced and is
terribly dull and dim. Behind Lester, there is only a diminishing plant stuck in a
corner and a work of art that is too little for the divider. The stylistic layout
uncovers what sort of association Lester works for, one that sucks the life and
light out of its representatives. As far as sythesis, the surrounding of the shot is
terrible too. Lester is situated in the middle base of the casing, which is a bizarre
place to put the primary subject. There is to an extreme degree a lot of headroom
above him, his feet appear to be removed, a roof light bulges down into the highest
point of the casing. It is an appalling shot in a dim, revolting room; it serves as a
visual appearance of Lester s discontent and unease. Here the shot is a mid shot, and
Brad possesses an expansive bit of the edge. The low edge mid shot accentuates his
energy, particularly when compared with the high point wide shot of Lester that we
just took a gander at. At the point when Brad stands up, the low edge shot is further
stressed. Outwardly, Brad is displayed as being prevailing. His stance his straight,
he is more youthful, he is dressed all the more stylishly and his outward appearances
uncover pomposity and disdain. Behind him, the vertical Venetian blinds make a
visual example that infers the bars of a correctional facility cell or pen. To Lester, his

Doppler Effect: the principle of this effect is well known in the study of sound. It is
known that if the source of sound, emitting a note of frequency v is move with a
constant velocity V relative to an observers, it is found that the observer p
perceives a sound having the frequency v which differs from v , being greater or
smaller according to the source is move towards or away from observers. This
phenomenon in sound was first explained by Doppler and hence the name Doppler
effect. But Fizeau showed that the same effect on light. Thus if the source of light is
moving with a wavelength observed in the Spectroscope slightly different from the
original wavelength.
The principle of speed camera that is the Doppler s effect can be described by the
formula fM = 2vfEcos(О±/c)
Where
fM if the frequency of the received signal v is the speed of vehicles fE if the
frequency of transmitted signal О± is the angle between the transmitted signal and
path along which the vehicle travels c is propagation speed of the signal in the air.

From this we can deduce that sending a fixed frequency signal towards the car and
then measuring the efficiency of the returning signal the can the deduce the speed of

The Yellow Wallpaper, By Charlotte Perkins Gilman
At what point does an individual come to the realization that they are trapped within
an internal perpetual prison? Many women during the 19th century suffered from
countless diseases and disorders that went untreated and society had deemed their
voice powerless and useless. According to the University of Toledo Libraries Women
were especially vulnerable to inadequate diagnoses and treatment in 19th century
America. It was commonly believed that most physical ailments of women were
caused by their sexual organs or mental disorders, resulting in painful, sometimes
lethal treatments. Within the oeuvre of Charlotte Perkins GilmanThe Yellow
Wallpaperwe examine the insouciant approach that society made towards the mental
health of women, which ultimately led to the mental instability of countless females.
In an era of male chauvinism in which women were to be seen and not heard, had
no voice and were rendered uneducated, illiterate and that their sole purpose was to
serve their spouses. The narrator in the short story is suffering from nervous
depression that has been onset from her moving into a new environment. Still I will

Significance Of The Back And The Future Trilogy
The Significance of the Back to the Future Trilogy
Earlier this month, actor Michael J. Fox tweeted Only off by a year, not bad.
Congrats @Cubs. This is so heavy. (@realmikefox) His tweet was a reference to a
prediction made in the 1989 film, Back to the Future Part II, in which Fox starred
as the lead character of Marty. Even though the film was released twenty seven
years ago, and its predecessor was released four years prior to that, the tweet itself
garnered over eighteen thousand Twitter likes, showcasing that series relevance alive
in today s society.
The Back to the Future trilogy has made its way into the hearts of millions; still
being loved now just as much as when it was first released. The film trilogy,
produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Robert Zemeckis, stars Michael J. Fox
and Christopher Lloyd as the lead characters. Supporting actors include Lea
Thompson, Thomas F. Wilson, and Crispen Glover. The storyline follows Marty
McFly (Fox) as he travels through time in a Delorean that has been manipulated by
his best friend, the kooky scientist, Doc Brown (Lloyd). Throughout three films,
Marty attempts to re align history and make it back to 1985 unharmed. The series
was a success at the box office, making almost one billion dollars worldwide
between all three films (Thompson, 667). In addition to the success it had when it
was first released, Back to the Future is still relatable to audiences today, many of

The Changing Demographics of Texas
In the United States, for the last four decades, from Richard Nixon to Ronald
Reagan through the two Bush Presidencies, the Republican Party won the White
House by amassing large margins among white voters (Lizza.) The state of Texas
has been reliably Republican since the 1970s and there are various elements to Texas
political culture that can be narrowed down to three essential ideological trends:
economic liberalism, or faith in the free market economy, social conservatism, or
favoring traditional values and moralism, and populism, or promoting the rights and
worthiness of ordinary people (Texas Political Culture.) As a result, the dominant
political mood in Texas favors low taxes, minimal government services, and policies

Whether or not there is a legitimate reason for Republicans to worry about states
like Texas leaning Democratic because of their minority, including Hispanic,
populations, may depend largely on the level of political engagement of these
groups. Increasing voter registration and turnout is a decidedly mixed proposition
for the Republicans: if past is prologue, Latinos tend to vote Democrat so that in
order for Republicans to prevail in elections, they must either launch an aggressive
campaign to win over Latinos, or try to suppress the Latino vote so that there will be
fewer votes for Democrats. For Texas, its electoral future depends on whether it can
engage a larger number and broader range of its citizens to meet the opportunities and
challenges that lay ahead (Lawrence.) If not, Texas will continue to be a state in
which there are minimal levels of voter participation overall, and where minority
groups are significantly underrepresented. Texas represents a national demographic
shift that will cause the United States to become a minority majority country in the
near future. Texas achieved that status in 2004, when racial and ethnic minority
populations, both native and foreign born, collectively outnumber non Hispanic
whites; in addition, the state

My Current Understanding Of Teaching And Learning
This essay seeks to critically reflect my current understanding of teaching and
learning and how it has influenced my developing philosophy. This is an important
concept to grasp, for any practicing educator at the beginning of their journey in
becoming a qualified teacher in Physical Education (PE). To fully develop this
essay it is vital to be able to define and outline a solid concept of philosophy, as this
will make it easier to understand the principles that underpin practices within the
teaching environment. However, the notion of understanding ones philosophy is not
always a straightforward process, there are certain barriers teachers are presented
with on a day to day basis that can sometimes restrict and prevent an all inclusive
pedagogical atmosphere. Understanding the crucial concept of philosophy will
provide the essay with a strong backbone. The definition from The Oxford Dictionary
describes philosophy as a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts

The Roaring Twenties
Roaring Twenties
As Canadians take a glance on the 1920s, it was a time period that was compacted
with happiness and tremendous misery. At the beginning of the twenties era,
Canadians experienced life as a celebration. It was an age filled with non stop
dancing, and tuning to the radio. This was a generation before the T.V. was
fabricated and so people listened to the radio for enjoyment and music. The twenties
was a time period that many Canadians remember as the Roaring Twenties . The
Roaring Twenties was a decade comprised mainly of improvements, in many aspects.
Due to this being said, roaring twenties should indeed deserve its name, because big
advances both scientific and technological were being implemented, the ideal women
we know now were starting to form, and last but not the least jazz music was being
introduced(a.k.a the Jazz Age ). And these were just some of the reasons, about why
the Roaring Twenties deserves it s nickname.
In the Roaring Twenties, technology mainly cars, really took a step forward. Before
the 1920 s, cars were not a fuss among middle class people. However, soldiers who
fought in WWI bought cars when they came back victorious from the war; causing
many people to deduce how easy it was to travel that way, and suddenly everyone
desired one. Cars gave people more free time and made their lives more accessible
and effortless (Henry Ford advertised the new model T, which was the primary
reason behind people purchasing cars). The number of

students that are talented and cannot afford lessons. Another objective is to recruit
more students to the School of Rock who are dedicated and passionate about music.
The broad situation faced by managers
The broad situation faced by managers at School of Rock is that they want to grow

Acne Research Paper
cne cases are an exceptionally typical and distressing condition which impacts the
skin s oil glands. The small holes within your skin (pores) connect to oil glands
beneath the skin. These glands create an oily compound called sebum. The pores
get connected to the glands by a canal known as a follicle. In the follicles, oil carries
dead skincells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle
and out to the skin. Once the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, the pimple begins
developing. Most pimples are found normally on the face, neck, back, chest and
shoulders but they can develop practically anywhere. Acne can be unsightly and in
rare cases permanent skin damage however it s never deadly. Acne develops once the
hair, sebum and skin cells clump with each other to form a plug. A bacterium
develops inside the plug which causes inflammation. When the plug starts wearing
down, a pimple comes out.

Cisco Systems (2001): Building and Sustaining a Customer Centric Culture
Introduction/General Problem Statement:
Doug Allred was Vice President of Customer Advocacy organization of the Cisco s
corporation. This organization was erected to consolidated all functions that directly
touched the customer but sales to provide high quality customer service. Since August
2001, the IT market turned down and brought severe challenges to Cisco as the
company had to lay off 18% of its employees and reorganized its structure,
transforming from decentralized organizational structure with three business units to
centralized organization. However, these changes ... Show more content on

Alternative Solutions: In such a situation, since the bad economic environment, it is
not possible to keep the original structure to fit its culture. One possible method to
solve this problem is to collect continuous customers feedback and to subdivide the
feedback by different departments. The culture of Cisco is to keep paying attention
to the customers, no matter the amount of resource. But the new structure made the
whole resources of the company useless to satisfy customers. Thus, a good way to
know what customers need is to collect the feedback from them. In the article How
to Change a Culture: Lessons from NUMMI, the author told us that those of us
trying to change our organizations culture need to define the things we want to do,
the ways we want to behave .iv By collecting the feedback of customers, each Cisco
s employee could be clarified of what they need to do to satisfy the customers.
To make the feedback effective, Cisco should pay attention to two aspects. One
aspect is to look for attitudes of the customers. Unlike the common survey of other
companies, Cisco should constantly to collect the data and feedback from new
customers. By this method, Cisco could have the newest tendency of the customers
need. The other aspect should relate to the employees of Cisco. Just as in the article

Military Defense Project
Growing up as a child, I vision the world untouched and pure. One didn t expect the
world to be tainted by people, money, or weather. After experiencing unpredictable
situations, life seems more complex than imagined as a child. Now I feel like a
stranger in a place that I misperceived called The World.
The world, just like my childhood fantasy, includes people. The people in my vision
were positively impacting my environment. Every day was sunny with clean air and
happy attitudes. I was disappointed to know that unfortunately, humans are the most
polluting species. People contaminate the world by not caring for life. Resources are
misused. Human behavior toward each other is harmful either mentally, physically, or
emotionally. Per Harvard Business Review.org, roughly half of the 4.4 billion people

Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is a little known, yet critically
important U.S. military defense project which has generated quite a bit of
controversy over its alleged weather control capabilities and much more. Dr. Bernard
Eastlund is the scientist whose name is most associated with the creation and
development of the HAARP project. His revealing website provides reliable
information on his involvement with the project. A 1987 patent issued to Dr.
Eastlund is titled Method and apparatus for altering a region in the earth s atmosphere,
ionosphere, and/or magnetosphere. In this patent, which sets the stage for HAARP,
Dr. Eastlund makes a number of fascinating statements which clearly contradict the
claim that it is only being used for research and not for military purposes or such
purposes as weather
Charity Bae Case Study
In the 4 years of participating in the Health Care Scholars Professions Program
Friday the 10th was the most intriguing experience I had. I was given the opportunity
to meet Ms. Charity Baip a Pathology Assistant in the Anatomic Pathology

one of the most delightful, engaging, and friendly health care professional that I have
had the pleasure to interact with. Upon arriving Ms. Charity Baip introduced be to a

Charity Baip I had the chance to take a look at specimens in Formalin solution.
Formalin is a special solution/ preservative used to preserve the different types of
specimens, organs taken from a patient s body for studies to be run on. The most
common specimens that Ms. Charity receives on a daily basis are fallopian tubes,
kidneys, and appendixes. In the mornings, residents and/or nurses come into Ms.
Charity s office and stamp each specimen they bring in the requisition from with the
date and time. The pathology assistant, in this case Ms. Charity is in charge of
registering the specimen or frozen specimen in a program called Code Pad installed
in the computer. A frozen specimen is a specimen that has come straight out of an
operation room, stored in a container, and frozen with no preservatives. In the log in
the pathology assistant registers the patient s name, address, medical record number,
and other basic information. The pathology assistant has to make sure that upon the
arrival of the specimen all documentations accompanies the specimen, if not it
cannot be logged into the Code Pad. On rare occasions the specimens cannot be
personally delivered for numerous circumstances, therefore, a tube system is used.
The tube system is a tube in which nurses, physicians or resident can send the
specimen from a particular room to Gross lab through a connecting tube. When a
specimen has been dropped and delivered and alarm goes off warning the
Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry Important Quotes
Roll of Thunder Hear, Hear My Cry Essay In the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My
Cry, by Mildred D. Taylor, it is shown that the one of the characters T.J. is the most
despicable person in the whole story. To start off, the character T.J. is described as
a person who is very manipulative towards the Logans. For example, when T.J. had
gotten Stacy in trouble by making him cheat on a test. she asked him how he got
them cheat notes. But Stacey wouldn t tell on ole T.J., and you know good and
well old T.J. wasn t bout to say them notes was his (81). It is shown how T.J. had
gotten cheat notes and had given them to Stacey, but Stacey didn t want to be a bad
friend so he didn t say it was T.J. Also, T.J. has demonstrated many times that he will
manipulate people to get what he wants. For this reason, when Stacey had gotten a
brand new jacket from Uncle Hammer, T.J. had taken an interest in it, and had told
Stacey that he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
is a individual that would of ontop of being manipulative and shameless, he is also
disgraceful. He shows in many different times in the story that he is a low, mean
person, that does not care about anyone, but himself. For instance,T.J. once brought
the Simms brothers with him to church to just show them off to the Logans as if to
say that he has found better friends. T.J. had also said that the Simms brothers treat
him like a man , and saying that they would buy him things and treat him better .
Just trying to show off to the Logans that he has found better people than them. It is
also shown in the book that T.J. s father doesn t like him being around the Simms
brothers because he knows they re bad people, but he still insists with hanging out
with them, even when his father has told T.J. that he would kick him out. He say I
stay way from that house one more night, he gonna put me out, and he mean it, too
(245). It has proven that the character T.J. is just a disgraceful person on top of
everything he has
Poem Biography Of An Armenian School Girl By Naomi
Shihab Nye
In The Room of Stone I remember standing in camouflage marine fatigues on an
obstacle course in the freezing cold rain. The instructor yells at me to sprint at the
six foot wall while in drenched in freezing cold sweat and rain. I leap at the wall but
I slammed into the wall before standing back up and taking a bound at the wallagain. I
grabbed the top of the wall and pull myself over it before dropping to the ground in
exhaustion. In the poem Biography of an Armenian School Girl written by Naomi
Shihab Nye, the topic about women s controlled lives in the Middle East is
addressed to give people insight about what is happening in these girl s minds. To
endure life, it requires hope, happiness, and distractions. Naomi had to have hope

Summary OfAll Summer In A Day By Ray Bradbury
In the story, All Summer in a Day, Ray Bradbury draws us in, as readers, with a
story that takes place on the planet Venus. The environment of Venus is as
described in this quote, It had been raining for seven years; thousands upon
thousands of days compounded and filled from one end to the other with rain,
with the gush and gush of water...fall of showers and the concussion of storms so
heavy they were tidal waves come over the islands... (Bradbury, 1954) With an
environment like this, what type of people would those on Venus be if they had
never felt, saw, or experienced the sun before? The only one that has experienced
and remembers the sun is a young girl, Margot. Margot lived on Earth until she
was four years old, unlike the others who have been living underground in Venus
for their entire lives. Because of this, Margot is constantly facing problems
regarding her classmates jealousy of her past opportunities. Without the sun, she
has become, as Bradbury writes, ...a very frail girl who looked as if she had been
lost in the rain for years and the rain had washed out the blue from her eyes and the
red from her mouth and the yellow from her hair. She was an old photograph
dusted from an album, whitened away, and if she spoke at all her voice would be a
ghost. (1954, Bradbury) In this short story by Bradbury, the theme is that jealousy
and ignorance can blind us from seeing things how they really are. This is shown
time after time when Margot is harassed, depressed, and isolated because of her
classmates jealousy. To begin, a way that Bradbury shows us that jealousy and
ignorance can shield a person from the truth is through the main character, Margot,
who is constantly being harassed by her classmates. The only reason Margot s
classmates harass her is because she remembers the sun. This makes her different
from all the others, who have lived here on Venus since birth. In this way, they are
uneducated or ignorant because they have never experienced the sun. Because she is
different, the classmates take every chance they have to harass her in any way they
can. Right before the sun came out, one of the rare events that Margot was greatly
looking forward to, the classmates ...surged about her, caught her
Deporting Illegal Immigrants
Deporting illegal immigrants is not going to help the United states economy by any
means, in fact, there would be no positive factors when it comes to impacting the
economy. Some people may assume that illegal immigrants in the United States are
not very well educated individuals, but that is not the case at all. Ryan Edwards, an
author of the National Bureau of EconomicsResearch, states, they re highly trained,
highly paid professionals, so their removal has a pretty large effect. (Ehrenfreund)
Not only do they help the United Stateseconomy, but they play a huge role in it as
well. The National Bureau did a study one year ago and they found, Immigrants living
illegally in the United States account for roughly 18 percent of employment

  • 2. Wagon Train Leader Analysis After we got done talking individually we talked as a group about setting up our wagon train. The first thing about the wagon train the we discussed was that thing we will be gathering together like medicine just in case someone gets sick on the trail. So the medicines that we gathered were sage, willow bark, bee pollen, red clover, and beet root. The other thing that we talked about was who is going to be our wagon train leader. After we thought about what type of things would make a good leader like someone that is responsible for most of the decisions on the trail, someone that can tell when to start moving and when to stop moving for the day, and someone that can find somewhere nice to camp for the night. So after all of that we pick Franklin
  • 3. Essay On Emergency Student Loans Let s continue Student s Growth through Emergency Student Loans An emergency is defined as an unexpected need that could not have been reasonably foreseen. In today s tough financial climate, more and more students are facing difficulties with increasing cost of tuition fees and living expenses. Sometimes student s ability to pay can change drastically. For example a parent may get fired or suffer a pay cut. As a result, many bright students are at risk of having to quit their study due to financial crisis. Emergency student loans are short term loans that are geared towards helping students cover education related costs living expenses. The uncertain financial environment may cause sudden changes in the costs of tuition or other expenses and emergency student loans are the best way to cover any unexpected costs. These loans are processed almost instantly and are disbursed to students within a few hours. These loans are also available under less stringent conditions, since the amount disbursed is usually lower compared to other loans. While these loans may not be ideal for funding an entire degree, they may be beneficial when any unexpected costs arise. As their name suggests, the primary objective of emergency student loans is to allow students to work their way out of unexpected or hidden costs without having to put a stop to their entire education. And there are fewer restrictions on the use of the money that is borrowed, meaning that you can spend money on what you need, when you need it. So Emergency Student loans are the Best medium which continues student s
  • 4. The Heroic Traits Of Robin Hood Robin Hood has characteristics commonly associated with both heroes and criminals, and depending on how other characters interact with Robin, he is either a hero or a hoodlum. People like the villagers Robin Hood always find food or money revere him as a saint, as Sir Guy mentioned. However, Sir Guy himself as well as the Sheriff see Robin as a nasty outlaw who always steals from them. Contradictory to what Sir Guy believes, Robin Hood is a hero. Only a hero would be brave enough to steal from people who have the power to execute him so peasants could have enough food and money to survive. Another heroic trait about Robin Hood is his generosity, shown in Scene 5 when he selflessly distributed food to the villagers who couldn t afford it. Robin

  • 6. An Extremely Brief History of India The Indus was one of the world s oldest civilisations dating back to 3000BC. Originating in the south of India, they built complex and mathematically planned cities. They introduced commerce and agriculture to the region, trading as far as Mesopotamia. India s history is intricately tied to its geographical location as a gateway between the East and West. Indias first invaders arrived around 1500 BC. An invaders paradise, the Aryans invaded from the north in 1500BC, dispersing south over the next seven hundred years. The Aryans brought strong cultural traditions including the Caste system and the foundation for many Indian based religions. Arab traders had been trading since the mid 700s in the region. The Portuguese were the first Europeans to arrive by 1500. The Portuguese established colonies in the Region known as Goa. By 1610 they had been chased out by the British. The East India Company established a factory and Britain s first colony in 1620 in Surat. For the next three centuries Britain would spread out over the subcontinent until it had complete rule. The East India Company would take complete control of all European trade in India. Victory at the Battle of Plassey (1757) transformed the East Indian Company from a trader to a ruler. A century later the company would be dissolved with the British Crown accepting administrative responsibility for the region. The Raj system created by the East India Company and subsequently used by the British Crown to govern was
  • 7. An Analysis Of Martin Luther King s I Have A Dream Every human in this world is promised to something from love to a better country. Promises are to be true to happen, but sometimes those promises are broken and never to happen. An example of a promise that did come true was to make racial justice. This promised was made by Martin Luther King Jr. s in his speech, I Have a Dream. In his speech, he promised to make racial justice for the reason that there was no freedom of racism. An example of a promised that did not come true was the promised made by a leader of a socialist group, Jim Jones. To continue, People from Jonestown did not have the liberty to live with their own family, Our cabins, tin roofed and small, could have housed families, lovers, children, with their parents, but instead we were partitioned into nonbonding arrangements (Layton 186). The reason for not having a close relationship with your own family was not allowed because it was a sin to Jones. Layton explains her relationship that she needed to have with her own mother when they were in Jonestown, There was a fine line between too little and too much empathy. Too much compassion meant you d break under torture and questioning by the enemy. Too little proved you could become a turncoat and traitor to Father (Layton 187). However, Martin Luther King Jr. wanted people to live with liberty and have citizenship rights. • 8. Jekyll And Hyde Differences There are many differences between the characters in the book Jekyll and Hyde and the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentleman which portrays Jekyll and Hyde as the movies main characters. When I watched the movie, I noticed three main differences those are: in the movie they are trying to use Hyde while in the book they are trying to find and arrest him for murder, Jekyll doesn t hide Hyde in the movie, and Jekyll doesn t try to control Hyde as much as he does in the book then in the movie. The first differencethat I will focus on is that in the movie they are trying to use Hyde for good and in the book, they are trying to arrest Hyde for murder. • 9. The Life Of Britney Spears I ve been watching, along with the rest of the world, a very sad unraveling of a human life. The recent events in the life of Britney Spears may not be anything new in the world of celebrity, but it certainly has been one of the most put on public display breakdowns in recent entertainment history. I was talking to my children last night about how truly sad the whole situation is, and how more people need to comprehend that even if they were never a fan of Britney or her music, they still need to realize that this is a person who is struggling and definitely in need of help. I have read countless statements by people who have gone as far as to say that she should just give up and die already.....I m tired of hearing about it. That is one of the more appalling statements I ve seen. I will go on record as saying I have not ever been a fan of her music, or thought she has made the best choices in her personal life perhaps (at least in how these things were portrayed in public), but in no way would I wish what she is going through on any human being. As someone who interviews musicians all the time, and now 1 celeb as well, it is more than ever clear to me that they are regular people like the rest of us. Would we expect to be treated that way if we were struggling? Does being in the public eye mean they put themselves out there for public ridicule and should just deal with it? I can only say that if she were my sister or daughter I would be in tears every day to see her

  • 12. Character Analysis Of Will Hunting Analysis of Will Hunting Advice for the Foster Parents The fictional character Will Hunting is an orphan so I will address his foster care parents in my paper. Will Hunting is a brilliant underachieving gifted student. As his foster care parents you need to realize he has learned to underachieve early in his academic because he has already mastered the material easily and he has not had to push himself to succeed academically (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). Will has never been placed in a nurturing environment so you will need to realize he uses his humor as a defense mechanism. If you learn to appreciate his humor you realize it is an extremely enjoyable part of his personality (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). He will need tons of emotional support because as a gifted child he experiences the world around him in a heightened state (Cross, Tracy, et al. 2018). You should be upfront with Will about his IQ and abilities this will lead him to better deal with his abilities (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). You will need to help him learn to prioritize to better help his gifts flourish and on the same hand you will also have to help him learn how to let go of things that are out of his control (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). Try to help Will pursue his math abilities and other things he finds extremely interesting (Ruff, Deborah, 2011). The stress of raising a gifted child can be more unique then raising other children. It has been compared to raising a special needs child (Renati, Robert, et al., 2016, p.6). One study found gifted students long term happiness is directly related to whether they thought their parents were warm and supportive (Renati, Robert, et al., 2016, p.6). The main sources of stress for parents raising gifted children have been identified as: lack of parenting alliance, stress that stems from finding helpful educational strategies, lack of persistence, and lack of management of family routines (Renati, Robert, et al, 2016, 13 14). So if you can come up with a plan between the two of you to try to combat these issues ahead of time they may save you stress in the long run. The relationship between the parents or care takers of the gifted child must be strong in order to aid in the success of raising the

Because barriers block the listening process causing misunderstanding that may block the flow of information between individuals. Therefore, this misunderstanding may blur the lines of communication utilized within the criminal justice system. This feedback allows the sender transmit further information so that those on the other end of the radio will receive and understand what is transpiring at the officials location (Dorland, 2012). Michael Faraday became famous for having invented the electric motor. Faraday made oe of the most significant discoveries in the atomic theory. His discovery led people to the idea that atoms had an electrical component. Faraday conducted an experiment to prove this idea. In his experiment Faraday placed two opposite electrons in a solution of water containing a dissolved compound. One of the elements accumulated on one electrode of the dissolved compound and the other element deposited on the opposite electrode. To Faraday it was clear that electrical forces were responsible for the joining of atoms in compounds. Robert Millikan Robert Millikan was born March 22, 1868 in Morrison, Illinois. Robert Millikan s major discovery in atomic theory was that electrons and positively charged atoms had mass. Millikan conducted the Oil Drop experiment to prove his idea. In his experiment he sprayed oil droplets into a sample chamber. Some of the droplets fell through the pinhole into an area between two plates (one positive and one negative). Particles that did not capture any electrons fell to the bottom plate due to gravity. Particles that did capture one or more electrons were attracted to the positive upper plate and either floated upward or fell more slowly. 2a) Indium comes from the

The French Revolution Of 1848 Research Paper When viewing significant landmarks in history often one looks at extravagant architectural marvels where important events took place looking past the streets where history is written in blood. The June Days of the French Revolution of 1848 tells such a history where lawlessness, rebellion, and economic depression culminated in an uprising in Paristhat divided the city between insurgents and loyalists. Thus the streets were a key battleground in the June Days and French Revolutionof 1848 dictating the conflict s outcome and serving a variety of interests. However, Napoleon eager not to forgot the lessons of June Days commissioned a massive renovation campaign of Paris headed by Georges EugГЁne Haussmann. Haussmann expanded the streets and created boulevards as to arguably make the streets much more difficult to barricade. Many of the small narrow streets and residential buildings of the inner city as a result were destroyed to make way for Haussmann s wide boulevards. Thousands of people were forced to relocate to the outer edges of the city. This is important because it ensured that a revolt like the June Days would be much more difficult in the future if possible at all. Napoleon s efforts to destroy the inner city neighborhoods and streets further legitimizes their significance in the French Revolution of

In accountability contexts, testresults decide which students are retained in grade, held back from graduation, and assigned to tracks or special classifications...high stakes testing produces teaching and testing practices that lead to inflated test scores and further disadvantage already disadvantaged students, (Smith and Fey, 2000, p. 334). McDonnell (1997) found that the political community believed the benefits of the assessment policy would outweigh any harm that might be caused by less than reliable or invalid tests. Some may wonder why teaching to the test is not a good practice and a healthy basic skills emphasis. They may even suggest that teaching to the test results is basic instruction even in the least advantaged educational situations. Causes, And The Cause And Effect Of The Outsiders Conare Lucas 11/1/17 Prof Philip Titan Cause and Effect Essay When people first start reading a book there is one burning question: What is this story about? It s a heavy question, especially for a fiction novel with so many fabricated details. You can fix this by saying a story is all about decisions. Of course, there are other themes, but the entire story is connected by the questions characters ask themselves and the outcome of their own answers. We can think about how this mimics real life. How every day we are forced to consider life s chance situations; some casual, some pressing, but all of them impacting our final growth as people and those around us to some degree. A good example of this is when in the book The Outsiders , our protagonist Jonny decided to kill Bob in self defense, this resulted in Jonny and Ponyboy going on the run. The decisions, the choices, that were made by Jonny change the course of his and his cohort s entire lives in an instant directing the whole final tale and story outcome. In the book the outsiders Ponyboy and many other characters have to make questionable decisions. A good example of this is, Ponyboy s choiceto walk might bring up questions. Why does Pony boy walk home alone, even though he knows it s not safe? Is he just making a foolish choice? Is he

Analysis Of Requiem For A Dream Requiem for a dream (2000) by Darren Aronofsky Opening shot Requiem for a dream is a film directed by Darren Aronofsky and made in 2000, based on a novel by the same name written in 1978. This film has a unique style and thrilling, intense, eye opening story in film history of that time. Some people call it the addiction horror . In this film, you can have a peek at the lives of drug addicts through their eyes. It traces lives of four protagonists Sara Goldfarb (Ellen Burstyn), her son Harry (Jared Leto), his girlfriend Marion Silver (Jennifer Connelly) and Harry s friend Tyrone C. Love (Marlon Wayans). Aronofsky made this film stand out particularly for his mastered use of mise en scene. So, it is worth pointing out the techniques he used in this film and the effect they had on the viewer. The opening shot is focused on Sara and her son Harry. Because of his addiction, he is continuously selling his mother s television to buy drugs and Sara is continuously buying it back. This time she even chained her television to a radiator, that her son would not be able to get it. There is an unpleasant tension shown with a split down in the middle of the frame showing protagonists on each side of a locked door, it is a bit like two films put on one screen at the same time. Sara is looking at Harry through a keyhole, her vision of her son is obscured by the door. The director gives more visual information to the viewer of the metaphorical barer between Harry and his mother. So,
  • 27. Allen Ginsberg Beat Generation Analysis In and around the 1950s Allen Ginsberg, along with several other great poets interested in changing social consciousness and defying conventional writing, became known as the Beat generation. Beat poetry focuses on the battle against social conformity and literary tradition. These Beat poets, known for their unconventional lifestyle, unorthodox political views, rowdy behavior, and experimental drug use, caused a lot of controversy. In Ginsberg s Howland Other Poems, Ginsberg employs a particularly confrontational and crude writing style to challenge the heteronormative, nuclear driven society that promotes the marginalisation and ostracisation of minorities and individuals whose ideology does not agree with that of the rest of the nation. Ginsberg believes that American society remains gravely repressed and his writing works to challenge that. Ginsberg, along with the other poets of the beat generation, introduce all the social taboos of the time such as heterosexual as well as homosexual sex, drugs, and addiction, into their writings. Ginsberg became one of the most influential poets in literary history, preaching his personal truths and promoting the idea of breaking the mold of the idealistic nuclear American society. Bond 2 At the time Ginsberg began to write, this idea of the perfect family, (working father, stay at home wife, kids and a dog), had been a widely spread idealistic way of life followed by the mass mainstream population of America. Although equality of opportunity is central to the concept of the American Dream, only those who fit the mold of the straight laced American man receive the privilege of equal opportunity. Ginsberg believes this concept of the idealistic American Dream proceeds to do nothing but harm minorities much like himself. My mom never pushed a language on me; she more often than not just reflected what language I was speaking. From a young age, I developed an affinity for speaking English. I was hearing it in the classroom and around my neighborhood and I began to associate Spanish with shame and otherness. I strove to speak more and more English at home. My mother would speak to me in Spanish and I would solely respond in English. Uprooted from my predominately Latinx neighborhood to a predominately white neighborhood, I felt I needed to be different, be whiter to fit in. My ability to speak Spanish in my childhood was one of my main connections to my culture. I used it to contradict the color of my skin, to feel accepted as a Puerto Rican woman. In a predominantly Latinx neighborhood in the Bronx, Spanish allowed me to tap into other Latinx cultures and feel a sense of unity amongst my peers, but a simple move thirty minutes north completely changed my experiences with language. I no longer discussed my heritage, I did not speak Spanish at school and I benefited from my white passing privilege as much as I could. Moreover, in a rich neighborhood, all I heard from classmates and their families was the lowly perspectives they had of Latinx people. We were all referred to Mexicans and day laborers so I decided I could not allow myself to be perceived that way. I did not want anyone to think less of me when I was already the notably

The definition from The Oxford Dictionary describes philosophy as a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle for behavior, (Oxford Dictionary, 2015). Integrating this definition into the practical setting together Lund and Tannehill (2005) argued that inside a professional teaching occupation it is critical that teachers come to terms with what they personally believe about physical educationand its goals. At the beginning of the twenties era, Canadians experienced life as a celebration. It was an age filled with non stop dancing, and tuning to the radio. This was a generation before the T.V. was fabricated and so people listened to the radio for enjoyment and music. The twenties was a time period that many Canadians remember as the Roaring Twenties . • 43. Acne Research Paper cne cases are an exceptionally typical and distressing condition which impacts the skin s oil glands. The small holes within your skin (pores) connect to oil glands beneath the skin. These glands create an oily compound called sebum. The pores get connected to the glands by a canal known as a follicle. In the follicles, oil carries dead skincells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle and out to the skin. Once the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, the pimple begins developing. Most pimples are found normally on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders but they can develop practically anywhere. Acne can be unsightly and in rare cases permanent skin damage however it s never deadly. Acne develops once the hair, sebum and skin cells clump with each other to form a plug. • 49. Summary OfAll Summer In A Day By Ray Bradbury In the story, All Summer in a Day, Ray Bradbury draws us in, as readers, with a story that takes place on the planet Venus. The environment of Venus is as described in this quote, It had been raining for seven years; thousands upon thousands of days compounded and filled from one end to the other with rain, with the gush and gush of water...fall of showers and the concussion of storms so heavy they were tidal waves come over the islands... (Bradbury, 1954) With an environment like this, what type of people would those on Venus be if they had never felt, saw, or experienced the sun before? The only one that has experienced and remembers the sun is a young girl, Margot. Margot lived on Earth until she was four years old, unlike the others who have been living underground in Venus for their entire lives. Because of this, Margot is constantly facing problems regarding her classmates jealousy of her past opportunities. Without the sun, she has become, as Bradbury writes, ...a very frail girl who looked as if she had been lost in the rain for years and the rain had washed out the blue from her eyes and the red from her mouth and the yellow from her hair. She was an old photograph dusted from an album, whitened away, and if she spoke at all her voice would be a ghost. (1954, Bradbury) In this short story by Bradbury, the theme is that jealousy and ignorance can blind us from seeing things how they really are. This is shown time after time when Margot is harassed, depressed, and isolated because of her classmates jealousy. To begin, a way that Bradbury shows us that jealousy and ignorance can shield a person from the truth is through the main character, Margot, who is constantly being harassed by her classmates. The only reason Margot s classmates harass her is because she remembers the sun. This makes her different from all the others, who have lived here on Venus since birth. In this way, they are uneducated or ignorant because they have never experienced the sun. Because she is different, the classmates take every chance they have to harass her in any way they can. Right before the sun came out, one of the rare events that Margot was greatly looking forward to, the classmates ...surged about her, caught her
