How To Write A Film Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "How To Write A Film Essay" might seem like a straightforward
task, but it presents its own set of challenges. Firstly, the subject itself requires a certain level of
familiarity with both film analysis and essay writing techniques. To effectively convey insights
into the intricacies of crafting a film essay, one must possess a solid understanding of cinematic
elements, storytelling techniques, and the art of critical analysis.
Next, there's the challenge of striking a balance between theoretical concepts and practical
examples. While discussing the theoretical aspects of film analysis, the essay should also
incorporate real-world examples to illustrate the application of these concepts. This requires a
deep knowledge of various films across different genres and eras.
Moreover, the writer must be adept at organizing thoughts coherently and structuring the essay
in a way that engages the reader. A film essay should have a clear introduction, a well-developed
body that delves into the analysis, and a strong conclusion that summarizes the key points and
leaves a lasting impression. Achieving this seamless flow requires not only a grasp of the topic
but also strong writing skills.
Additionally, the challenge lies in offering original insights and avoiding clichГ©s. With
countless film essays written over the years, it can be difficult to present fresh perspectives. A
writer must find innovative angles or interpretations that add value to the existing body of work
on the subject.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "How To Write A Film Essay" demands a blend of film
knowledge, analytical skills, creativity, and effective communication. It requires overcoming the
hurdles of balancing theory and practice, structuring the essay effectively, and providing unique
insights to capture the reader's attention.

The Downfall to Today s Medical Advancements in the
United...
Today we live in a world where the medical system is very advanced and it allows
doctors to treat almost any kind of cold, disease, or injury. This sounds good with the
exception that people cannot afford those treatments unless they have Health
insurance. Medical insurance is not easy to obtain, meanwhile the insurance
companies want to make as much money as possible from their clients without
spending a dime on them. There are nearly 50 million Americans without health
insurance(Sicko). It s not surprising that there are so many people without
insurance; for the reason that the insurance providers like to give coverage to
younger and healthier individuals, while the people in need of insurance are seen
as a harmful to the health provider s profits and are denied to sign up for the
insurance. Michael Moore s film Sicko and Jim Hightower s issue 14 of the
Lowdown show two major problems in our medical system about the so called
Universal Healthcare . The argument that Michael s movie makes is that the United
States medical system is not as good as the medical system in Canada, United
Kingdom, or Norway. You might wonder how the U.S medical system can be worse
than those countries when it s more advanced, well the treatment in those places is
completely free including the stay in the hospital! In the Lowdown article we can
notice another issue with our current health system such as drug companies spending
more cash each year to advertise their drugs then coming up with

By using different type of project management tools you can determined which tools
and requirement that will be needed for the project. Project management has many
tools available to help with managing projects. The two that are talked about in the
chapter are these; Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) and Gantt
charts, they help managers schedule and monitor the activities involved in large
projects, such as implementation of a large scale ... Show more content on

Rather, a Gantt chart treats each activity as if it were independent of the others, which
of course is not really the case. For this reason, Gantt charts are better suited for
systems implementation projects that are not complex and have relatively few
interrelationships among implementation activities. (p.436)
It helps to look at the software as a framework that can be modified in hundreds of
different ways to support your organization s culture. If you have a disciplined
organization with projects that are well defined and stable, you can implement many
system capabilities relatively quickly to streamline and simplify formerly manual
processes. However, if your organization is new to the field of project management,
you might have to introduce system features in several phases so that the learning
curve is not too steep. Another factor, which could be considered in planning the
scope and phasing of your implementation are the history and type of project.
(informit.com) There are so many different types of project management software
that runs on desktop or notebook computers can perform these tasks easily and
quickly, can enable a project leader to plan and control implementation tasks, and can
help a team install a new system on time and within budget. Examples of project
management software solutions include SAP, Agile, Microsoft Project, PlanBee, and

The Fire Next Time On The Civil Rights Movement Essay
In 1957, Baldwin got involved in the Civil Rights Movement. His contribution to the
movement included a multitude of books that focused on African American and
White relations including, among others: The Fire Next Time. Along with his books,
Baldwin wrote many articles about society and human rights. Furthermore, as an
activist Baldwin ventured to the south several times in order to get a better
understanding of the raceissues in America. Baldwin also attended the March on
Washington and remained active until he died. Through his writing, Baldwin became
one of the most important advocates for equality in America.
In the novel The Fire Next Time Baldwin address the Nation of Islam and its effect
on the civil rights movement. The Nation of Islam was a religious movement in the
mid 1900s, led by Elijah Muhammad. The religion focused on Black power and
taught ideas such as white people are the devil and black people are the original
person. Second in command, Malcolm X, was a key figure in the movement and
arguably led The Nation of Islam as a political movement. Malcolm X believed in
taking control of one s life; consequently, Malcolm X s message was that blacks
should accept themselves as they are rather than trying to emulate white people and
assimilate into European culture (Jahn). His ideas of taking matters into one s own
hands and enough waiting around resonated with many and allowed Nation of Islam
movement to grow.
Although Baldwin did not agree with many of the
The Key Verses And Passages That Tell Us More
Introduction Many people, especially Christians know of the book of John for its
famous verse found in chapter 3 verse 16, For God so loved the world that he gave
His only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have
eternal life (NIB, Pg.1912). But there is far more to the fourth Gospelthat gives us an
in depth culture of people known as the Johannine Community.
Thesis In order to better understand the Fourth Gospel in the Holy Scriptures, I am
going to first give a brief description of the authorship, setting, and date in which
this was said to have been written. Second, I will explain the purpose or context in
which this gospel was written. Third, I will discuss key verses and passages that tell
us more in depth about Jesus. Last and finally, I will my own questions, thoughts, and
observation of the Gospel of John. Last and finally.
Background When discussing the time period in which this piece was actually
written, it is important to understand that it was written before the epistles.
According to many scholars such as Charles H. Talbert, the book of John was
written either after or around the same time as the letters 1, 2, 3 of John (Talbert,
pg.4). According to Talbert, the text cannot be dated much later than 100 AD. There
are fragments from Chapter 18:31 33 that seem to be dated back to as early as
second century, or 125 AD (Talbert, Pg. 1917). When it comes to the authorship of
the text, it is also said to be unknown, although
Soccer And Commerce Essay
Nowadays, a growing number of people argue that whether modern soccer should
become more related to commerce, because the fund is becoming the major
criterion to estimate the value of a club and coming from various sources, which
include advertising, tickets, finical support and so on. Although some people will
say that overfull commercial atmosphere will be the toxic for soccer game,
however I think that the combination of soccer and commerce will be the paradigm
of modern soccer s revolution. With the increased rate of people criticize
commercial activities such as interviews; advertisements and kinds of parties will
decrease the concentration of player for the game. They mention that the basic role
of a player is to play exciting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They think some players lives in a house, which costs million dollars, and with a
few supercars in their car barns, and media always like reporting news about the
famous players and share lives to fans that is kind of sensationalization. However,
in my opinion media is a way to help players build the influence; andwhat kind of
lives they live depend on how endeavor they pay out. If I ask who is the most
famous player now, no matter from information or people s know, you cannot deny
that David Beckham is most valuable player in the world that although he as an
assistant instead of being a player of the England team to World Cup in South
Africa, he is being pushed as an ambassador for the sport here in England as the
country bids to land the 2018 World Cup (Steve Bott, England s Beckham era is over
but his influence remains, Retrieved March16 2010, http://www.sportingo.com
/football/~influence remains). Even some people, who are living in some very poor
area, do not know the name Obama, but they know the name Beckham. That is why
England pushes Beckham as an ambassador to bid the 2018 World Cup. People
always remember that how Beckham scored by his Golden Right Foot , but not much
of them know why Beckham could shoot such a prefect free kick. The answer of
secret is that through thousands and thousands times practice. Despite the fact that

Perspectives on Love in Reality Parenting Shows
Many parenting programs have been made in recent years such as the Supernanny
and Brat Camp which were first aired in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Both were
originated from United Kingdom. So, this kind of show is no longer new to the
viewers. All the mentioned parenting shows earlier including the World s Strictest
Parents mainly focuses on the teenagers behavioral problems. (See
openhousecommunity.com.au)
The World s Strictest Parents was interesting because it was truly an account of the
families life. The teenager s outright rebellion against their strict foster parents
increases the tension, excitement and drama of the show. Even so, the host families
in the program show a genuine concern towards the teenagers because they are ...

This proves that tough love cannot change all the troubled teenagers in just a span of
seven days.
Third, authoritarian is the best method among the parenting styles to rear a child.
Recall that parenting style is the strategies of the parents use to bring up a child.
According to Diana Baumrind, clinical psychologist, there are four types of parenting
styles namely: authoritative, permissive, authoritarian and uninvolved. Moreover,
these parenting styles, according to studies, produce various outcomes to the children
(See psychology.about.com). Table 1, presents the characteristics of each parenting
styles while Table 2, shows the comparison of the positive and negative effects it
created towards the children.
On the other hand, parenting styles greatly varies across all nations in many
important ways because of factors that affecting it such as culture, religion,
socioeconomic status, education, personality and their own upbringing (See
psychology.about.com). Among these factors, culture plays the most vital role in
parenting styles. For instance, Chinese culture is greatly influenced by Confucian
philosophy which emphasizes respect for authority, devotion to parents, emotional
restraint, and the importance of education. Chinese parents are not necessarily driven
to control their children; instead, they are expected to teach their children how to
maintain harmony with others. That is

The Day Of The Aztec s Pyramids
A hot and blistering day, no clouds insight as the sun beams my face. So
excruciating, my face smells like burnt trash. As I am waiting for the bus to pass
by, there are several children playing on the swings across the street. The bus
arrives and off I go heading to a town known for Hope . As I arrive to the town of
Plateros. I marched like wild fire to the temple. The journey, not an easy journey
because I had to push and shove people out of the way just to get to the temple. It
seems if I was back in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Finally, as I stand at the
front gates which happens to be massive? So massive they appeared to be touching
the sky. I strolled through the gate and notice all the stairs just to get to the top. I
remember the time of the Aztec s pyramids where they would do human sacrifices
for their Gods. As I make my way up the stairs like a captive. Once at the top of the
stairs I stood this beautiful temple and what caught my eye was the outer structure.
First, the outside temple s architecture features many things. For example, a half
shaped golden sphere, which sat in the center of the temple. It was made of several
rectangle parts put together like a jigsaw puzzle to form a pregnant woman belly.
The gold dome was elegant and shiny. So bright that Japan residents are blind by the
glow. Next, the temple s stone and marble combination were brilliant together. The
stone wall a pale pink with a smooth texture like a baby s bottom. The caramel

Symptoms And Treatment Of Crohn s Disease Essay
Crohn s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that is characterized by
inflammation of the digestive, or gastrointestinal tract. It can affect any part of the
GI tract, including the mouth and anus. However, Crohn s most often affects the
end of the small intestine (Crohn s Colitis, 2016). Crohn s disease does not have a
cure and there is no exact cause for the occurring disease. Since the exact cause of
Crohn s disease is unknown, it has been linked to a combination of environmental
factors, immune function and bacterial factors, as well as a patient s genetic
susceptibility to developing the disease (History Cooperative, 2014). Lauren Page
is 28 years old. She was diagnosed with Crohn s disease when she was 24 going on
25 years old and was hospitalized during her birthday week. Her breaking point
was when she could not take the pain any longer. Lauren had a fever of 104.5 and
unbearable abdomen pain. She had also contracted an infection in her bloodstream
from developing a fistula from her vagina to her rectum. They luckily were able to
do surgery to correct her fistula. She had a multitude of tests including: blood
work, stool samples, CT scans, MRI, X rays, a balloon test, endoscopy and
countless colonoscopies. Lauren s disease is located in her large intestines. Chron s
disease is not apart of Lauren s family so she was clueless to what it was when she
was diagnosed. It took about a month until they were completely certain that it was
Crohn s disease.

Automotive mechanics fix cars or trucks that have problems either mechanically or
technologically . They must be able to locate the source of the problem quickly and
accurately. They must know automobiles well because the type of work they do has
changed immensely over the years. It was once only simple mechanical repair. Now
it is a highly technological job. Cars today are run by computers and electronic
systems. The computers tell the automotive mechanics how well the car or truckis

of the car and truck work together. They must be able to work with diagnostic
electronic equipment; such as trouble code readers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and

Analyzing The Book The Hunger Games
I chose the Inkheart book quote, Books have to be heavy because the whole world s
inside them. This quote can mean a lot of different things. For example, An atlas has
pictures, and information about the whole world inside the cover. Another way the
whole world can be inside a book is by having a fictionbook create a setting, and for
the characters that could be a world for them. A way that books can be heavy is if the
book is very long, or the cover can be heavy and big.
A way that a book can have the whole world inside it is if you re reading a fiction
book like The Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games there is a world where there is
chaos and killing. They have characters highly developed technology, transportation,
animals, and many more
Themes Of Sandra Cisneros
Readers of Sandra Cisneros are able to identify major themes throughout her work.
She makes these themes evident because growing up she experienced some of the
feelings and emotions that her characters do, which is why she is able to write
with such passion. Displacement and isolation are two themes that Cisneros
makes evident in her work. Readers will see these themes in Woman Hollering
Creek, Mericans, and Eleven. In Woman Hollering Creek isolation and
displacement play a big part in the main character, Cleofilas , life. She marries a
man whom she believes she is going to be with forever, however that is not the
case when her husband decides to do things to her no husband should ever do.
Cleofilas tries to pretend that everything that happens to her is normal by faking
everything she does and feels. At the ice house where many people come to have a
beer Cleofilas goes to accompany her husband because if she does not she will be
seen as a bad wife. [...] she is invited and accompanies her husband, sits mute beside
their conversation, waits and sips a beer until it grows warm, twists a napkin into a
knot, then another into a fan, one into a rose, nods her head, smiles, yawns, politely
grins, laughs at the appropriate moments [...] (Cisneros 223). She feels so out of
place that instead of trying to make conversation she would rather stay off to the side
and pretend like everything is fine. Cleofilas first longs to experience the American
Dream, if there is such a thing,
Liberty Bell
The Liberty Bell, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American bell of great
historic significance. The Liberty Bell is perhaps one of the most prominent symbols
associated with the American Revolution and the American Revolutionary War. It is
one of the most familiar symbols of independence, abolition of slavery, nationhood
and freedom within the United States, and has been used as an international icon of
liberty. [1]
Its most famous ringing, on July 8, 1776, summoned citizens of Philadelphia for the
reading of the Declaration of Independence. Previously, it had been rung to announce
the opening of the First Continental Congress in 1774 and after the Battle of
Lexington and Concord in 1775.

[edit] 19th century history, repair and crack
During the 19th century, the bell tolled at the death of Alexander Hamilton (1804),
Lafayette s return to Philadelphia (1824), the deaths of Adams and Jefferson (1826),
Washington s 100th birthday celebration (1832) and the deaths of Lafayette (1834),
John Marshall (1835) and William Henry Harrison (1841). [4]
In 1839, William Lloyd Garrison s anti slavery publication The Liberator reprinted a
Boston abolitionist pamphlet containing a poem about the Bell, entitled, The Liberty
Bell, which represents the first known usage (in print) of the name, Liberty Bell. [4]
It is not certain when the second crack appeared (the first after the recastings), but
the bell was repaired in February 1846. The method of repair, known as stop drilling,
required drilling along the hairline crack so that the sides of the fracture would not
reverberate.
On February 22, 1846, the bell was tolled for several hours in the tower of
Independence Hall in honor of George Washington s birthday.[5] When the bell was
rung,
Relationship Between Man And Nature In Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein shows the divine and everlasting qualities of the natural
world to help convey the relationship of man and nature and to establish the
boundaries between them. Throughout this romantic novella, Shelley contends the
consequences if man ineptly interacts with nature and breaks these boundaries. For
instance, natureis described as calming and having the ability to heal when crazed, if
treated appropriately. However, she also shows that nature can be horrific and
dreadful if not well respected. Lastly, she depicts nature as being enduring and
powerful, and the way the characters interact with it shows its omnipotence. Mary
Shelley shows these many traits which nature displays in order to help disclose the
relationship that should be enacted between both man and nature. Shelley shows that
one of nature s many attributes is its ability to calm and heal. It can change and
revive moods and Victor Frankenstein, the creator of the monster as well as the
protagonist, uses it as an aid to gain back strength. Throughout the story, nature is
shown to have an inner light which can alleviate grief. Consequently, when Victor is
distraught he always goes back to nature to relieve his pain, as it is what keeps him
stable. When contemplating to create another monster, Victor becomes ill and
anxious. Even though he does not want to create another one, he feels compelled due
to the vengeance of the fiend, the monster he creates. Nevertheless, he decides to

treatment options for articular cartilage lesions. The authors characterize the
treatment objectives as palliative, reparative, or restorative, noting that the various
treatment options can overlap in terms of objective. The options described by the
authors, along a continuum of palliative to restorative, include arthroscopic lavage

Articular cartilage is organized into four different layers/zones: superficial
(tangential), middle (transitional), deep (radial), and calcified. The cellular structure
of each layer is slightly different and corresponds to its role and type of force that it
can withstand; the superficial layer has parallel alignment to withstand shear forces,
the middle layer begins to resist compressive forces with a more oblique orientation,
and the deep layer has a perpendicular alignment that largely resists compression. The
calcified layer is where the cartilage connects to bone tissue, and is separated from
the deep layer by the tidemark, which is a region of parallel oriented fibers to
reduce shear force. Since grading of chondral lesions (commonly on a Grade 0 4
scale) is based upon the depth of injury, it is important to understand these specialized

Sheep Are An Important Part Of The Global Agricultural...
Sheep are an important part of the global agricultural economy. Domestic sheep
provide a wide array of raw materials. Wool is one of the first textiles, although in the
late 20th century wool prices began to fall as the result of the popularity and cheap
prices for synthetic fabrics . Sheep meat and milk are the earliest staple proteins
consumed by human civilization after the transition from hunting and gathering to
agriculture. Byproducts from the slaughter of sheepare also of value; sheep tallow can

are ingested by the grazing sheep. Following ingestion, third stage larvae ex sheath in
the small intestine, penetrate the intestinal wall and enter the mesenteric lymph
nodes. Here, larvae develop, moult to

Licensed Midwife
Midwifery in Washington State is no longer apart of alternative culture. It has
progressively become a mainstream choice for pregnant mothers in recent years,
placing Washington on the leader board in natural births and birth clinics.
Washington State ranks among the top eight states in the nation for its number of
home births, according to a 2012 report from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention. Moreover, in the last five years, the Midwives Association of Washington
State (MAWS) reported that the number of families choosing childbirth at home has
more than doubled.
Licensed Midwives otherwise known as LMs provide care during the normal
pregnancy cycle. They confer with physicians if obstacles surface and refer clients
to doctors and other healthcare providers as needed. The midwives scope of practice
in WA includes; Prenatal care, counseling regarding pregnancy, birth, constant
encouragement during labor, care of the newborn up to two weeks, postpartum care
of the mother, as well as family planning services.
LMs usually attend births in freestanding birth centers or in home settings. LMs are
qualified to perform procedures that may be necessary during the course of normal
pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum/newborn period, including the administration of
selected medications. LMs may work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pregnant mothers do not need a referral for Midwife services, can receive a breast
pump free of charge and may qualify for complete coverage under Washington
Apple Health at no monthly premium cost. In Washington State, Apple health, also
referred to as Medicaid covers licensed midwifery care for lower income clients.
This change has allowed for a shift in midwifery clients, allowing for low income
expectant mothers to get the birth experience that they desire as well as private
insurance
Critical Analysis Of The Clash Of Civilization
In The Clash of Civilization, Samuel P. Huntington argues that globalization has
united cultures that were normally very withdrawn. It has increased contact between
these cultures, which then led to an increase in misunderstanding, resentment, and
eventually conflict. Huntington also hypothesizes that the leading factor of conflict
in the 21st century will be the differences between cultures. This will eventually result
in the change of dominance within civilizations to different civilizations. Lastly, he
also predicts that the West, Arab nations, such as Saudi Arabia, and China will also
have and an increase in cultural conflict with one another.
Huntington then goes on to hypothesize that the ultimate source of conflict in this
world will not only be ideological or economical but the division between human
kind will mostly take place because of the cultural conflict. He says that The clash of
civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault lines between civilizations will
be the battle lines of the future. (82). In order to have a better and concise
understanding of Huntington s Clash of Civilizations? it is necessary to understand
the strengths of his argument. The strengths in his argument are well portrayed
through his division of the world in eight different civilizations and also through his
explanation of why there is conflict between cultures. Also, he portrays that cultural
issues tend to be more complicated to resolve than political dilemmas. These
Life Span Development Psychological Analysis
Psychological Theories of Life Span Development Psychology
Development can be defined as systematic changes that occur in the individual
between conception and death, or from womb to tomb. These depend on multiple
factors. Life has been divided into number of stages. Prenatal period: conception to
birth: This stage included the time from conception to birth. Though the child has
not come to the outside world, but a life is there, the heart is beating, and this is
termed as prenatal period. Infancy: First two years of life: This is the stage when
the child learns the most. He or she is not going to the school but learns a lot from
the family and other people around them. If this stage is enjoyable, the child will
have a good chance to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These stages form what Piaget called an invariant sequence. Systems theories of
development (some are called contextual theories, some systems theories or dynamic
systems theories) generally claim that changes over the life span arise from the
ongoing transactions between a changing organism and a changing world. Systems
theories view development as the product of on going transactions between person
and environment. Ethology asks how species specific behaviors may have evolved. It
all depends upon the interactions among genes, brain activity, behavior, and the
environment. So, basically it depends on many factors. Stage theorists such as Freud,
Erikson, and Piaget form one broad group and have many ideas which are more or
less common. They believe that biological, maturational forces within the individual
re the main things which guide the development of an individual. But then there is
another broad group which is formed by the learning theorists such as Watson,
Skinner, and Bandura. They emphasize the role of environment more than the role of
biology in development. Finally, systems theorists emphasize both biology and
environment as inseparable components of a larger system. O draw a conclusion

DonT Sleep There Are Snake Life And Language In The...
Daniel L. Everett s ethnography, Don t Sleep, There Are Snakes Life and Language
in the Amazonian Jungle, writes about experiences and life he faced during the time
living among the Piraha. Everett, is a linguist who s whole mission during his stay
with the Piraha s was to not only learn their language, but to convert them to
Christianity. This however never happened, Everett actually ends up giving up his
faith for the name of science and language. His novelis a page turner, it make the
reader to want to keep reading it until the very end. The way Everett writes just
draws people in, the way he chooses his words and the structure of the sentences
makes one feels like that they are with him.
Over the span of three decades, Everett and his family live with the Piraha for a total
of seven years learning their culture and language. What he found their really
changed the idea of how we perceive languages and the different theories behind
them. The Pirahas, do not have a counting systems, or clan system, nor a fixed terms
of color or ritual, along with one of the smallest set phonemes in the world, along with
hum and whisper speech. They have no concepts of future or past ideologies, totally
living in the present and are relatively very happy people. One unfavorable aspect
about this novel is that it lacked the life of the women and children within the
villages. Everett only really interacted with the males of this society, whether there
was any cultural boundaries that restricted him from interacting with the woman is
unknown, but it was something that caught my attention while reading.
The novel is spelt up into three parts: Life, Language, and Conclusion. Each one
dedicated to a certain part of the Pirahas culture. Part One: Life was very detailed
on what events went on in the daily lives. These people get very little sleep and
Everett mentioned that it is very rare to have the village totally quiet at night, one is
always talking not caring if people next to them are sleeping. They start their day
very early, men would leave and go out hunting, while the women search of wild
fruits and vegetables. The Piraha people would only catch and gather what they
needed for the day. It was also interesting to read that
Comparing Tristram To Isolt And The Love-Drink
In love stories like Romeo and Juliet, the main theme in the story is that sometimes
love is worth dying for if it is true and pure, and Shakespeare focused on writing a
play in which that theme was made obvious. In the case of Tristan and Iseult, there
are many versions of their love story. Most versions result in their deaths because
they cannot live without the other; however, some versions leave one of the two
alive. Although there are many different versions, they all tell a story similar to the
ones before it. In Tristram to Isolt and The Love Drink, both authors tell the story of
Tristan and Iseult, yet both have differences like their plot and diction in order to
emphasize different, distinct themes. Both stories use a different plot scheme which
highlights the different themes that each author hoped to draw attention to. The Love
Drink by Sally Bridges mainly emphasizes the moment when Iseultand Tristan drink
from the bottle and fall in love with each other; Tristram to Isolt by Madison J.

Cawein s Tristram to Isolt uses words which imply death that create an idea in the
reader s mind that the love between Tristan and Iseult is deadly and poisonous
which is exactly the theme that Cawin tries to focus on. Among these words are
lines like a thing of Hell and sweet sin which sound as if Tristan is calling his love
for Iseult toxic (Cawein). The theme of love being morbid to those with a faint grip
on reality is pulled out through the way Cawein seemingly makes Tristan a guy who
loved a girl he knew would inevitably ruin his
The Consequences Of Adderall Abuse
One reason is that Adderall literally consists of amphetamines, so it definitely has
abuse and addiction potential. Amphetamines are chemically similar to
methamphetamine, which is the main ingredient in a street drug named crystal math

Since, when have you heard about anything positive resulting from abusers of crystal
meth? If considering chasing the euphoria as a positive, then please ask the meth
users about their current situation in regards to livelihoods. The comparison between
users of Adderall without a prescription and meth heads might be a bit dramatic. On

What Is My Favorite Burger Essay
Being the son of a baker, I am constantly trying new foods and recipes. I have had
anything from turkey burgers stuffed with blue cheese, bacon, and onions to a
healthy shrimp stir fry. Some things that I eat, I dislike very much. Other things I
try, I have second and even third helpings.Trying my mom s new recipes always
makes me respect good food to a higher extent. This is why my favorite sandwich is
a twist on the true American favorite, the burger. I want you to know why this burger
is the very best there is. The first thingyou need for the perfect burger is a nicely
done bun. What you need for this is a bun without sesame seeds. You also need a
little bit of butterand a flat top grill. First, you need take the butter and melt it down...

This burger is no exception. The burger must also be topped with a scrumptious
smoked ham and delicious bacon. Both of these should be hot when put on the
burger. The ham, since it is smoked, does not need extensive heating which may
ruin the beautiful pink color of ham. The bacon itself should be cooked in a very
specific and delicate way. It must be cooked to the point where it is no longer
flimsy, so which would render it chewy, but not overly crunchy which would render
it nearly unedible. For extra flavor, cook both of them in the same place you cooked
the burger without removing the burger grease. The next part of the burger is one of
the most essential and the easiest part. What you need is a little bit of a smooth,
white swiss cheese. However, unlike what many people like to do you should try to
refrain from buying the cheapest cheese you can. When it comes to cheese, the
higher priced cheese is more expensive for a reason, and it s the way to go. When
the cheese is set between the slice of ham and the burger, you want it to melt so it
holds the two together, which is something you are not likely to get with a cheaper
Resistance Of The Mutant Oncogenes
Introduction
One in five deaths today is a result of some form of cancer. This terrible disease
stems from mutations in body cells, which interfere with the cells normal regulation
of growth, division, and death. Cells can make occasional mistakes and divide too
early or not destroy themselves at the right time (Alberts et al. 2014). The Hayflick
limit, described in 1961 by Leonard Hayflick, states that normal human cells can
divide for about 50 times (Watts 2011). In cancers, though, this limit does not exist,
and cells continually divide. Occasional mistakes do not have tremendous
consequences on large, multicellular organisms, however. When many cells begin to
make these mistakes, though, tumorigenesis and cancer can occur. ... Show more

The pigment protects skin cells, particularly the DNA of the cells, from damaging
ultraviolet radiation from the sun, and has been shown to reduce the frequency of
radiation induced mutations and to completely remove low dose radiation effects
(Mosse et al. 2000). Within melanocytes are melanosomes, organelles in which
melanin production occurs. The melanosomes have 4 stages of maturity, starting with
stage 1, or premelanosomes, and progressing to stage 4, or mature melanosomes. The
stages can be determined based on the composition of the vesicles in the cells
(Setaluri 2003). The mature melanosomes then branch off from the dendritic tips of
the melanocytes and travel to keratinocytes, keratin producing cells (Seiberg 2001).

Martin Beam s Homeless Prevention Program
As I read through the final chapters of Beam s book, I felt both hopeful and
disheartened. I feel that the original premise or goal of the child welfare system is
to ensure that children have a family. A family that is capable of appropriately
caring for a child and providing them with unconditional love. Pat O Brien and
Chester Jackson s program, You Gotta Believe! resonates with this goal. There
homeless prevention program addresses a principle issue of foster carethat the system
has not properly addressed, so it seems. According to Pat, an estimated 50 percent of
the current homeless population consists of individuals that were once in care. Pat

being a foster parent quickly died due to the frustration that stemmed from a lack

which the teens had to sell themselves to prospective families. Although, the
intentions behind it are noble, I feel that the youth are again being likened to

Leonardo Da Vinci And The Renaissance
Roughly between the times of the 14th and 17th centuries a cultural movement
called the Renaissance existed. The Renaissance housed some of the greatest
intellects, such as Leonardo da Vinci, and a radically different way of thinking
emerged. Humanism developed largely and rapidly among this time, and was greatly
influenced by a man named Desiderius Erasmus (1466 1536). Erasmus, a Dutchman,
originally lived among monasteries where he developed many opposing views
during his years of service. In the midst of the Renaissance, around the 16th century,
the Reformation movement began to splinter the faiths of Europe. Some say that
Erasmus bridged the ideals of the Renaissance and Reformation movements. Among
his many contributions to the humanist drive, he wrote many colloquies originally
intended for teaching Latin to school children, which doubled as underlying
preaching of Erasmus s ideals. A collection of a variety of these stories entitled the
Ten Colloquies written by Erasmus shows specific examples of the tethering of
Renaissance to the Reformation largely on the theme of ad fontes.
One of Erasmus known standards was the importance of going back to the sources.
During the Renaissance, born in Florence, this was very common thought, as it was
a period of admiration of early Greek and Roman culture, intellect, and art. This
began to pave some of the ways of many reformers mainly as they begin to question
the practices of the Catholic Church. Many began to question where

Their mutual love and hatred for one another, and for themselves, provides an
intensely dark comedy that exposes their inner conflicts, their racial bigotry and their
low self esteem, as they struggle to survive in a contrived culture to which neither
will ever really belong.
John Fante s description of Los Angeles during the depression of gaunt faces and lost
humanity is haunting and riveting, as told through the eyes of a young man who is
not altogether stable. The smog, traffic, dust, grime and shallow lifestyles of southern
California were already present in 1939, making this story relevant still today. The
earthquake scene in the story is just as realistic as it might be today, complete with
military intervention and the emergence of human kindness in the face of disaster.

In the Alta Loma Hotel in the Bunker Hill district of Los Angeles, writer Arturo
Bandini s hotel room window opens onto the ground level, a smog and sand choked

Analysis Of Tin Man By Andrew Arvanetes
On the KCC campus there is many of great pieces of art to appreciate, however,
when picking a pieces of art to talk about the Tin man by Andrew Arvanetes is a
very eye catching piece. Andrew Arvanetes piece Tin Man sits right behind one of
the newest additions to campus, and in front of the River and walking trail. The
Tin Man can be seen from a very far distances, for example where the child cares
playground was moved to they have a great view of both Chicago Nike and Tin
Man. Tin Man by Andrew Arvanetes is for the most part what it sounds like, a tin
man. However, when many people think of a tin man they think of two feet, two
arms, and a face. This tin man does not have any of that it has two legs with what
look to be cement rollers
Pangae The Evolution Of The Earth
One of the more difficult ideas for people of all ages to comprehend is the
immensity of time over which the Earth has formed and evolved. While most people
have some sense that Biology has an evolving history, the physical Earth has one, too,
and they are inextricably linked together.
Scientists think they have a good understanding of how the plates have moved since
Pangaea broke up, but the motion is less clear in the time before Pangaea. Oceanic
crust has an average age of only 55 million years (in geological terms, quite young).
It is totally recycled into the Earth s interior every 150 million years or so. On the
other hand, the age of continental crust averages about 2.3 BILLION years, with the
oldest known rocks dating back 3.96 billion

Free Trade Agreements And The Trade Agreement
Free trade agreements are established around the world by countries to limit
restrictions on trade and investment in hope of benefiting both countries economies.
A free trade agreement removes barriers to trade eliminating most quotas and
removing tariffs on goods and services that can be exported or imported. Many free
tradeagreements also remove other barriers to trade, like property protection or
restrictions on foreign service provider s industry. China a growing superpower, has
the largest population in the world and has numerous free trade agreements with
different countries. China has a free trade agreement with Australia established in
2014 and with New Zealand established in 2008. Free trade agreements help Chinese
businesses by attracting investment from Australian markets. Free trade agreements
increase export markets for China and lower costs of imports into China.
a.Tariffs
A tariff is a tax on the import of goods and services brought into the country. free
trade agreements are created to lower or remove of tariffs on the trading of goods
and services. The tax may vary from a few percent of the value, to well over 100%
of the value of the item depending on its demand and rarity. This tax is carried
down to consumers, resulting in higher prices for these imported goods. Tariffs are
place to protect domestic businesses that are seen as valuable to the economy. For
example, The United States enacted a tariff of 8 30% on steel to protect the

McClelland would say that the major need driving Bill and Melinda Gates to work
so hard would be their search for power. Bill and Melinda Gates want to be
recognized as pioneers doing good work in impoverished countries. Their good
intentions give them a means of influencing similar organizations.
Clearly with this information in mind Bill and Melinda Gates have a leader motive
profile because their acts of philanthropy influence others to follow in their foot steps.
Bill and Melinda Gates both have positive attitudes about themselves. They see
themselves as philanthropists trying to do the right thing for the world and assist
under privileged countries and areas of the United States in creating equality for
everyone. This confidence contributes greatly to their success as leaders because
confidence is contagious. If they exude confidence then the people they affiliate
themselves with will feel that same confidence in their work.
In my opinion Bill Gates is ethical in his business at Microsoft. He runs a successful
corporation that makes a good profit and uses some of that profit and contributes to
charitable organizations. The Microsoft Corporation is socially responsible and a
profitable fortune 500 company. Bill Gates hast a postconventional level of moral
development in that he motivated by universal principles of right and wrong. He
balances his concerns for himself and his company with
Abortion Thesis
Rough draft Assignment four
Thesis:
In 1965, illegal abortions made up one sixth of all preganacy and childbirth related
deaths.
Abortion should remain a legalized procedure in the United states of America
because it is one of the safest medical procedures, pregnancy is not always a
responsible choice, and how American Health care prevents women from getting an
abortion. Among these issues it is important to recognize the culture behind the
prochoice movement.
CONCEPT 1 PROLIFE
The controversy of abortion that divides American politics is caused by an
ideological gap between those who prefer religion and those who do not. The sparks
really began to fly when the court case of Roe v. Wadewhere the supreme court

Nannette Burstein American Teen
AMERICAN TEEN:
A documentary filled with scripted spontaneity and a slight insight to reality explores
the stereotypical lives of five high school seniors. Kaylee O Dwyer talks about the
truth behind this popular film, American Teen.
American Teen, directed by Nanette Burstein, is a documentary film set in a small
town in Indiana. The film follows the lives of five high school teenagers through
their final year of high school in a way that hasn t been perceived since The
Breakfast Club . The film over exaggerates the problems, demands and complications
the modern generations are facing today by combining candid footage with false,
staged events. The goal is less to provide a slice of reality than it is to estimate a
fictionalized version of that reality through the inclusion of re enactments,
dramatisations, voice overs and other techniques, deceiving viewers into believing
that what they re seeing is actually real.
The film follows the five seniors from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are without a doubt numerous scenes in the film that are obviously staged or
recreated for reasons such as in situations which the camera man wasn t present, to
improve the film, errors in the recordings or errors in the sound. Viewers have
doubted the authenticity of the film but Burstein continues to defend her film as an
accurate, non manipulated insight of teenage life. The scene of Megan sending
around Erica s picture to the whole school captures the replies and comments all the
students were making. Also in the scene where Hannah s boyfriend breaks up with
her by text captures his message perfectly to Hannah. In a situation of an unexpected
event there is no possible way the camera man could be present at all times to
capture every reply. Burstein seems to always have her camera present at just the right
Analysis Of Riddles In The Dark By Lynn Freed
Sometimes it can be very interesting to hear a piece of writing read out loud by the
author. The most recent example in memory that I can think of is hearing Riddles
in the Dark from The Hobbit read by J.R.R. Tolkien. Oh my goodness, it is
amazing! It s like he s part of the story and the story is a part of him. If you re into
that sort of thing, here s the link for it on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com
/watch?v=bA0OgL80msw. I didn t have the same reaction to hearing Lynn Freed
reading her story, Ma, a Memoir, but that s probably because she reads it very
seriously, and because it was short (we didn t get to any of the funny parts in the
clip). As a writer, mainly I freak out over the idea of reading a story out loud in front
of a group of people. They re not only judging your story, but also your delivery,
your presence, your appearance, and how well you pull off public speaking as a
whole. Terrifying. The characters in this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There s the hospital where Dad is staying, Ma s house (briefly), driving up the
coast in the fiat and a lunch out at the beach hotel, the narrator s sister s house, and
the Botanic Gardens. None of it is really described in detail; it could be anywhere.
I like to give more detail to the setting, but in Freed s story you have to use your
imagination to flesh out the details. That s fine in some stories, too. The story
takes place over a week or a little more. There are 4 instances of the next day/the day
after 1 after the funeral and 1 A few days later (122 126). It s clearly told in a linear
fashion without many flashbacks, and Freed clearly tells the reader how much
time has passed between scenes. In my own writing, I am not always this clear with
the demarcation of days. I like to keep a notebook when I m working on longer
stories so I have a clear time line on paper. It s not always spelled out on the page, but
I like to know in my own mind how things progress and over how many

Role Of Financial Market Authority On Corporate
Business...
ROLE OF FINANCIAL MARKET AUTHORITY(FMA)
In this essay my aim is to discuss and compliment the various roles of financial
market authority in corporate business world. My research will depict that Financial
market authority (FMA) has been emerged as a financial regulatory authority which
regulates and controls the capital market and the financial services in New Zealand
very effectively and efficiently. And it works on the financial risk bearing factors
and majorly contributes towards developing trustworthy, clear and well regulated
financials markets by executing various roles. In order to address the ever existing
issues of divided regulatory body, the ultimate aim of creation of FMA by the
Government of New Zealand was to replace security commission.
Further the Primary objective of creating new single operator was to unify the market
administration activities as the security commission faced many criticisms and
faltered on the main function of regulating the market in order to give stability to the
financial sector and thus resulted in ceasing of security commission. In 2011, when
the financial markets authority act 2011 (FMC ACT) has been sanctioned and came
into action on 1 may 2011, certain changes were made and one of the most important
changes by this enactment is the introduction of new reinforced regulatory body. The
FMA was designated under the crown entity act 2004, with supreme powers to
monitor and control the financial markets by revoking the authorities of

all of your questions. Starting with information about being a school counselor and
ending with the training you will have to go through to become a counselor. Buckle

School counselors make $53,610 a year and $25.77 an hour. They must contain
interpersonal skills, speaking skills, and listening skills. That is just a tiny portion of
being a counselor. Being a school counselor is not all fun and games. School
counselors play a large role in the future leaders of our nation. Normally a counselor
provides his or her services to three categories, such as academic, personal/social,
and career. High School counselors help students find their talents, their career paths,
the college they are interested in attending, and even earn a scholarship. School
counselors also encourage students to follow their dreams and achieve their goals.
They do help students with problems either at home or in school. The school
counselor does this by giving the student positive suggestions to help solve their
problem. By helping students solve their problems counselors help students clear
their mind and focus on their academics. According to EFFECTIVENESS OF

From:Group #2 (Jordan King, Kelsey Darnell, Xiaomeng Liao)
Date:04/04/2013
Subject:ACCTG 642: Case 08 6, The Rump Organization
Statement of Relevant Facts
The Rump Organization is a commercial real estate company that purchases and
constructs commercial property. On the basis of the corporate restructuring plan,
Rump s CEO, Ronald Rump, and Rump s board of directors on December 27,
2005 approve a plan to involuntarily terminate 100 of the company s employees. The
plan provides for each terminated employee to receive a lump sum cash payment
equal to one month s salary only if the employee voluntarily signs a waiver of any
right to legal action against Rump. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A possible solution is that a liability is not recognized at all. A second alternative
solution is that the liability would be initially recognized at communication date,
December 31, 2005, then adjusted cumulatively over the future service period,
December 31, 2005 through the termination date of January 31, 2006. A third
alternative solution is that the liability is recognized on the communication date of
December 31, 2005. We assume that management would prefer no recognition of a
liability; however, if a liability must be recognized management would prefer the
liability to be recognized on December 31, 2005, then adjusted as terminated
employees sign or do not sign the waivers over the service period. Management
would not want to recognize part of the liability in January because this would
negatively affect their balance sheet and their current ratio during the first quarter,
which could, in turn, affect the company s ability to satisfy contracts or receive
loans. In contrast, recognizing the liability at the end of the year would have little to
no material impact on the company s ratios or financials since it would be taking
into account the entire year versus a few months. The auditors main concern will be
to make certain that the liability is recognized and reported in the proper fiscal year
as this liability could be quite large and materially affect financial statements.

Fulcher Call To The Crusades Essay
The primary source I chose is the call to the Crusades given by Pope Urban II at
the Council of Clermont in 1095. No one wrote down what he said at the time of
his speech, but there 5 written accounts of his speech written down after the fact. I
chose the version by Fulcher of Chartres because he either was in attendance, or he
personally knew someone who attended, that person likely being Bishop ___ of
Chartres. Just as most scribes of this time period in what is now Europe were
clergymen, Fulcher was Roman Catholic priest. Fulcher wrote an account of the
Crusades in a series of books which have become a rather reputable recognized
source by historians and history buffs alike. Clermont is in France.)^We must
acknowledge that since no one wrote down the speech at the time, we have to read
this version of his speech as a guideline, but the other versions of the speech are
along the same lines. For the sake of discussion, we ll take Fulcher s version to be
a relatively close account of what Pope Urban essentially said. Since Fulcher was
supportive of the Crusades, he probably would be doing his best to capture what...

  • 2. The Downfall to Today s Medical Advancements in the United... Today we live in a world where the medical system is very advanced and it allows doctors to treat almost any kind of cold, disease, or injury. This sounds good with the exception that people cannot afford those treatments unless they have Health insurance. Medical insurance is not easy to obtain, meanwhile the insurance companies want to make as much money as possible from their clients without spending a dime on them. There are nearly 50 million Americans without health insurance(Sicko). It s not surprising that there are so many people without insurance; for the reason that the insurance providers like to give coverage to younger and healthier individuals, while the people in need of insurance are seen as a harmful to the health provider s profits and are denied to sign up for the insurance. Michael Moore s film Sicko and Jim Hightower s issue 14 of the Lowdown show two major problems in our medical system about the so called Universal Healthcare . The argument that Michael s movie makes is that the United States medical system is not as good as the medical system in Canada, United Kingdom, or Norway. You might wonder how the U.S medical system can be worse than those countries when it s more advanced, well the treatment in those places is completely free including the stay in the hospital! In the Lowdown article we can notice another issue with our current health system such as drug companies spending more cash each year to advertise their drugs then coming up with

The Systems Development Life Cycle Paper Assignment The Systems Development Life Cycle Paper Jolynn Rose XACC/210 April 20, 2013 Jerry Eskew The Systems Development Life Cycle Paper By using different type of project management tools you can determined which tools and requirement that will be needed for the project. Project management has many tools available to help with managing projects. The two that are talked about in the chapter are these; Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) and Gantt charts, they help managers schedule and monitor the activities involved in large projects, such as implementation of a large scale ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rather, a Gantt chart treats each activity as if it were independent of the others, which of course is not really the case. For this reason, Gantt charts are better suited for systems implementation projects that are not complex and have relatively few interrelationships among implementation activities. (p.436) It helps to look at the software as a framework that can be modified in hundreds of different ways to support your organization s culture. If you have a disciplined organization with projects that are well defined and stable, you can implement many system capabilities relatively quickly to streamline and simplify formerly manual processes. However, if your organization is new to the field of project management, you might have to introduce system features in several phases so that the learning curve is not too steep. Another factor, which could be considered in planning the scope and phasing of your implementation are the history and type of project. (informit.com) There are so many different types of project management software that runs on desktop or notebook computers can perform these tasks easily and quickly, can enable a project leader to plan and control implementation tasks, and can help a team install a new system on time and within budget. Examples of project management software solutions include SAP, Agile, Microsoft Project, PlanBee, and Time Line. History shows that staging

His contribution to the movement included a multitude of books that focused on African American and White relations including, among others: The Fire Next Time. Along with his books, Baldwin wrote many articles about society and human rights. Furthermore, as an activist Baldwin ventured to the south several times in order to get a better understanding of the raceissues in America. In the novel The Fire Next Time Baldwin address the Nation of Islam and its effect on the civil rights movement. The Nation of Islam was a religious movement in the mid 1900s, led by Elijah Muhammad. The religion focused on Black power and taught ideas such as white people are the devil and black people are the original person. Second in command, Malcolm X, was a key figure in the movement and arguably led The Nation of Islam as a political movement. Malcolm X believed in taking control of one s life; consequently, Malcolm X s message was that blacks should accept themselves as they are rather than trying to emulate white people and assimilate into European culture (Jahn). His ideas of taking matters into one s own hands and enough waiting around resonated with many and allowed Nation of Islam movement to grow. Although Baldwin did not agree with many of the

The Key Verses And Passages That Tell Us More Introduction Many people, especially Christians know of the book of John for its famous verse found in chapter 3 verse 16, For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life (NIB, Pg.1912). But there is far more to the fourth Gospelthat gives us an in depth culture of people known as the Johannine Community. Thesis In order to better understand the Fourth Gospel in the Holy Scriptures, I am going to first give a brief description of the authorship, setting, and date in which this was said to have been written. Second, I will explain the purpose or context in which this gospel was written. Third, I will discuss key verses and passages that tell us more in depth about Jesus. Last and finally, I will my own questions, thoughts, and observation of the Gospel of John. Last and finally. Background When discussing the time period in which this piece was actually written, it is important to understand that it was written before the epistles. According to many scholars such as Charles H. Talbert, the book of John was written either after or around the same time as the letters 1, 2, 3 of John (Talbert, pg.4). According to Talbert, the text cannot be dated much later than 100 AD. There are fragments from Chapter 18:31 33 that seem to be dated back to as early as second century, or 125 AD (Talbert, Pg. 1917). When it comes to the authorship of the text, it is also said to be unknown, although

If I ask who is the most famous player now, no matter from information or people s know, you cannot deny that David Beckham is most valuable player in the world that although he as an assistant instead of being a player of the England team to World Cup in South Africa, he is being pushed as an ambassador for the sport here in England as the country bids to land the 2018 World Cup (Steve Bott, England s Beckham era is over but his influence remains, Retrieved March16 2010, http://www.sportingo.com /football/~influence remains). As I am waiting for the bus to pass by, there are several children playing on the swings across the street. The bus arrives and off I go heading to a town known for Hope . As I arrive to the town of Plateros. I marched like wild fire to the temple. The journey, not an easy journey because I had to push and shove people out of the way just to get to the temple. It seems if I was back in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Finally, as I stand at the front gates which happens to be massive? So massive they appeared to be touching the sky. I strolled through the gate and notice all the stairs just to get to the top. I remember the time of the Aztec s pyramids where they would do human sacrifices for their Gods. She makes these themes evident because growing up she experienced some of the feelings and emotions that her characters do, which is why she is able to write with such passion. Displacement and isolation are two themes that Cisneros makes evident in her work. Readers will see these themes in Woman Hollering Creek, Mericans, and Eleven. In Woman Hollering Creek isolation and displacement play a big part in the main character, Cleofilas , life. She marries a man whom she believes she is going to be with forever, however that is not the case when her husband decides to do things to her no husband should ever do. Cleofilas tries to pretend that everything that happens to her is normal by faking everything she does and feels. At the ice house where many people come to have a beer Cleofilas goes to accompany her husband because if she does not she will be seen as a bad wife. [...] she is invited and accompanies her husband, sits mute beside their conversation, waits and sips a beer until it grows warm, twists a napkin into a knot, then another into a fan, one into a rose, nods her head, smiles, yawns, politely grins, laughs at the appropriate moments [...] (Cisneros 223). She feels so out of place that instead of trying to make conversation she would rather stay off to the side and pretend like everything is fine. Throughout this romantic novella, Shelley contends the consequences if man ineptly interacts with nature and breaks these boundaries. For instance, natureis described as calming and having the ability to heal when crazed, if treated appropriately. However, she also shows that nature can be horrific and dreadful if not well respected. The authors characterize the treatment objectives as palliative, reparative, or restorative, noting that the various treatment options can overlap in terms of objective. The options described by the authors, along a continuum of palliative to restorative, include arthroscopic lavage and debridement, microfracture, autologous chondrocyte implantation, and osteochondral grafting. In order to optimize reader understanding of the indications and contraindications for each of the treatment options, the authors also include a brief anatomical review of articular cartilage, which includes the grading and epidemiology of chondral lesions, as well as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Articular cartilage is organized into four different layers/zones: superficial (tangential), middle (transitional), deep (radial), and calcified. The cellular structure of each layer is slightly different and corresponds to its role and type of force that it can withstand; the superficial layer has parallel alignment to withstand shear forces, the middle layer begins to resist compressive forces with a more oblique orientation, and the deep layer has a perpendicular alignment that largely resists compression. The calcified layer is where the cartilage connects to bone tissue, and is separated from the deep layer by the tidemark, which is a region of parallel oriented fibers to reduce shear force. Since grading of chondral lesions (commonly on a Grade 0 4 scale) is based upon the depth of injury, it is important to understand these specialized

  • 24. Critical Analysis Of The Clash Of Civilization In The Clash of Civilization, Samuel P. Huntington argues that globalization has united cultures that were normally very withdrawn. It has increased contact between these cultures, which then led to an increase in misunderstanding, resentment, and eventually conflict. Huntington also hypothesizes that the leading factor of conflict in the 21st century will be the differences between cultures. This will eventually result in the change of dominance within civilizations to different civilizations. Lastly, he also predicts that the West, Arab nations, such as Saudi Arabia, and China will also have and an increase in cultural conflict with one another. Huntington then goes on to hypothesize that the ultimate source of conflict in this world will not only be ideological or economical but the division between human kind will mostly take place because of the cultural conflict. He says that The clash of civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault lines between civilizations will be the battle lines of the future. (82). In order to have a better and concise understanding of Huntington s Clash of Civilizations? it is necessary to understand the strengths of his argument. The strengths in his argument are well portrayed through his division of the world in eight different civilizations and also through his explanation of why there is conflict between cultures. Also, he portrays that cultural issues tend to be more complicated to resolve than political dilemmas. These

These depend on multiple factors. Life has been divided into number of stages. Prenatal period: conception to birth: This stage included the time from conception to birth. Though the child has not come to the outside world, but a life is there, the heart is beating, and this is termed as prenatal period. Systems theories of development (some are called contextual theories, some systems theories or dynamic systems theories) generally claim that changes over the life span arise from the ongoing transactions between a changing organism and a changing world. Systems theories view development as the product of on going transactions between person and environment. Ethology asks how species specific behaviors may have evolved. It all depends upon the interactions among genes, brain activity, behavior, and the environment. So, basically it depends on many factors. Stage theorists such as Freud, Erikson, and Piaget form one broad group and have many ideas which are more or less common. They believe that biological, maturational forces within the individual re the main things which guide the development of an individual. But then there is another broad group which is formed by the learning theorists such as Watson, Skinner, and Bandura. They emphasize the role of environment more than the role of biology in development. Finally, systems theorists emphasize both biology and environment as inseparable components of a larger system. Everett, is a linguist who s whole mission during his stay with the Piraha s was to not only learn their language, but to convert them to Christianity. This however never happened, Everett actually ends up giving up his faith for the name of science and language. His novelis a page turner, it make the reader to want to keep reading it until the very end. The way Everett writes just draws people in, the way he chooses his words and the structure of the sentences makes one feels like that they are with him. Over the span of three decades, Everett and his family live with the Piraha for a total of seven years learning their culture and language. What he found their really changed the idea of how we perceive languages and the different theories behind them. The Pirahas, do not have a counting systems, or clan system, nor a fixed terms of color or ritual, along with one of the smallest set phonemes in the world, along with hum and whisper speech. They have no concepts of future or past ideologies, totally living in the present and are relatively very happy people. One unfavorable aspect about this novel is that it lacked the life of the women and children within the villages. Everett only really interacted with the males of this society, whether there was any cultural boundaries that restricted him from interacting with the woman is unknown, but it was something that caught my attention while reading. The novel is spelt up into three parts: Life, Language, and Conclusion. Each one dedicated to a certain part of the Pirahas culture. Part One: Life was very detailed on what events went on in the daily lives. These people get very little sleep and Everett mentioned that it is very rare to have the village totally quiet at night, one is always talking not caring if people next to them are sleeping. They start their day very early, men would leave and go out hunting, while the women search of wild fruits and vegetables. The Piraha people would only catch and gather what they needed for the day. It was also interesting to read that

Comparing Tristram To Isolt And The Love-Drink In love stories like Romeo and Juliet, the main theme in the story is that sometimes love is worth dying for if it is true and pure, and Shakespeare focused on writing a play in which that theme was made obvious. Most versions result in their deaths because they cannot live without the other; however, some versions leave one of the two alive. Although there are many different versions, they all tell a story similar to the ones before it. In Tristram to Isolt and The Love Drink, both authors tell the story of Tristan and Iseult, yet both have differences like their plot and diction in order to emphasize different, distinct themes. Both stories use a different plot scheme which highlights the different themes that each author hoped to draw attention to. • 31. Resistance Of The Mutant Oncogenes Introduction One in five deaths today is a result of some form of cancer. This terrible disease stems from mutations in body cells, which interfere with the cells normal regulation of growth, division, and death. Cells can make occasional mistakes and divide too early or not destroy themselves at the right time (Alberts et al. 2014). The Hayflick limit, described in 1961 by Leonard Hayflick, states that normal human cells can divide for about 50 times (Watts 2011). In cancers, though, this limit does not exist, and cells continually divide. Occasional mistakes do not have tremendous consequences on large, multicellular organisms, however. When many cells begin to make these mistakes, though, tumorigenesis and cancer can occur. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The melanosomes have 4 stages of maturity, starting with stage 1, or premelanosomes, and progressing to stage 4, or mature melanosomes. Some say that Erasmus bridged the ideals of the Renaissance and Reformation movements. Among his many contributions to the humanist drive, he wrote many colloquies originally intended for teaching Latin to school children, which doubled as underlying preaching of Erasmus s ideals. A collection of a variety of these stories entitled the Ten Colloquies written by Erasmus shows specific examples of the tethering of Renaissance to the Reformation largely on the theme of ad fontes. One of Erasmus known standards was the importance of going back to the sources. During the Renaissance, born in Florence, this was very common thought, as it was a period of admiration of early Greek and Roman culture, intellect, and art. This began to pave some of the ways of many reformers mainly as they begin to question the practices of the Catholic Church. Many began to question where

Their mutual love and hatred for one another, and for themselves, provides an intensely dark comedy that exposes their inner conflicts, their racial bigotry and their low self esteem, as they struggle to survive in a contrived culture to which neither will ever really belong. John Fante s description of Los Angeles during the depression of gaunt faces and lost humanity is haunting and riveting, as told through the eyes of a young man who is not altogether stable. The smog, traffic, dust, grime and shallow lifestyles of southern California were already present in 1939, making this story relevant still today. The earthquake scene in the story is just as realistic as it might be today, complete with military intervention and the emergence of human kindness in the face of disaster. Camilla, Arturo, Sammy, Vera and Hellfrick are all non entities in the bustle of L.A. culture, but all are profoundly human in their suffering, confusion, and vices. All are battling a poor sense of self worth and struggling to survive in an indifferent world. The film follows the lives of five high school teenagers through their final year of high school in a way that hasn t been perceived since The Breakfast Club . The film over exaggerates the problems, demands and complications the modern generations are facing today by combining candid footage with false, staged events. The goal is less to provide a slice of reality than it is to estimate a fictionalized version of that reality through the inclusion of re enactments, dramatisations, voice overs and other techniques, deceiving viewers into believing that what they re seeing is actually real. ROLE OF FINANCIAL MARKET AUTHORITY(FMA) In this essay my aim is to discuss and compliment the various roles of financial market authority in corporate business world. My research will depict that Financial market authority (FMA) has been emerged as a financial regulatory authority which regulates and controls the capital market and the financial services in New Zealand very effectively and efficiently. And it works on the financial risk bearing factors and majorly contributes towards developing trustworthy, clear and well regulated financials markets by executing various roles. In order to address the ever existing issues of divided regulatory body, the ultimate aim of creation of FMA by the Government of New Zealand was to replace security commission. Further the Primary objective of creating new single operator was to unify the market administration activities as the security commission faced many criticisms and faltered on the main function of regulating the market in order to give stability to the financial sector and thus resulted in ceasing of security commission. In 2011, when the financial markets authority act 2011 (FMC ACT) has been sanctioned and came into action on 1 may 2011, certain changes were made and one of the most important changes by this enactment is the introduction of new reinforced regulatory body.
