How Does Luke Portrays Jesus As The Perfect Man
Luke paints Jesus as the perfect man. Reflecting on his boyhood and tracing back to Adam, he goes on
to tell us the most about his mother. He then goes on to explain the financial situation Jesus and his
family was resting in. From wealth to no money. He describes Jesus as sympathetic to the poor, the
despised, children, women and the hated. He highlights Jesus love for people and social outcast
basically. Luke truly portrays Jesus in this gospel broadly according to the image of the divine man or
the perfect man . These divine powers are visible and are exercised, both in his teaching and in his
miracle doing. The image of the divine man also belongs in Jesus travel narrative. The gospel of Luke
is the only one that has a long travel

How Is Harry Potter Related To Religion
The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on the
inside of skulls, to be perused by an invader. The mind is a complex and many layered thing. (Severus
Snape, Book five.) The book series entitled Harry Potter has Biblical themes hidden beneath all of the
spells, charms, and enchantments. Harry Potter, in my own opinion, is very Christ like and I feel like
the book series could be looked at like a modernized version of the bible. He resembles Jesus Christ in
multiple ways. J.K Rowling has subtly featured religious symbolism in her books such as, Harry dying
for the wizarding world much like Jesus died willingly for our sins. After they died, they were both
resurrected. Fawkes, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The presence of a phoenix reinforces the underlying theme of conquering death by embracing life, just
like Harry and Jesus did.
Harry and Jesus know a lot about Sacrifice and selflessness. All of the characters in the Harry Potter
series experiences sacrificial love. Hermione Granger, one of Harry s two sidekicks throughout his
school years, has to obliviate her parents minds because she doesn t want them getting hurt. Her
mother and father are both muggles, therefore Voldemort would find them and murder them. Ronald
Weasley, Harry s other sidekick, sacrifices himself in a game of Wizard s Chess for Hermione and
Harry in their first year at Hogwarts. Dobby the house elf, who has saved Harry s life on many
occasion, sacrificed his life to save Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna Lovegood and Mr. Olivander out of
pure love and friendship. Harry s mother and father, Lily and James Potter, sacrificed their selves for
their only son just like Jesus Christ sacrificed his body for us and he sacrificed his life on earth for us.
Both Harry and Jesus did such a selfless thing for the people they loved and cared for.
Every character from the bible resembles a person from the bible. Harry resembles Jesus because he s
the chosen one who died willingly for the people of the wizarding world. The D.A. (Dumbledore s
Army) and the Order are his disciples. Voldemort resembles the Satan. Lucifer turned against his

Delay Analysis Of The Critical Path
All of the delay analysis techniques in this case study depend on the analysis of the critical path. These
methods are categorized as the CPM techniques for quantification. Methods like as planned vs. as
built are simple and easy to perform; it just follows the basic guidelines without referencing with the
supplementary data and any modification. On the other hand, methods like window analysis, collapsed
as built using complex, additive and subtractive analysis give better and accurate results because they
take into account any changes during the project and therefore recommended for incorporating in
delay analysis. Not to mention, these methods need detailed project information followed by rigorous
analysis. The results could have been more specific if detailed information in the form of daily reports,
schedule of values and pay application would have been available. By sticking to the basic number of
delay in activities, most of the results are observed to be close if not same. This research corroborates
the use of impacted as planned, collapsed as built, time impact analysis and as planned but for, for the
analysis of delays in day to day industry scenarios because calculation of delays and attribution can be
easily carried out with these methods. With extensive information and rigorous analysis of the same,
better and more efficient results can be observed. Concurrent delays are the most disputatious of the
delays and are still unresolved. There is no specific

There are few organizations that primarily target the male demographic within the overall market. The
Mr. Fit Life brand will be designed to connect with the emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of
the male consumer via targeted marketing and consultative selling.
Company Summary
Mr. Fit Life was conceived by the experiences of the founder Josh Budy s journey through the loss of
over 40 pounds and commitment to adopting a healthily lifestyle for himself and his family. More by
accident than intention, Josh stumbled into finding quality fashionable fitness apparel from a female
demographic focused store, since most male demographic focused were focused on sports and did not
offer consultative selling.
Mr. Fit Life is intended to be a high caliber retail experience and product excellence that will connect
with men who are focused on a life goal of fitness and health. The unique blend of consultative selling
and providing quality fashionable fitness apparel will allow Mr. Fit Life to create a specifically

Public Service And Public Services
Firefighters, police officers, public officials, and health care personnel are some of the first careers
individuals think of when the phrase, public service, is mentioned. Other people think of
philanthropists, teachers, or even nonprofit organizations; however, individuals in these positions are
not the only public servants throughout the world; and in some instances, the same individuals who
serve as your police officers, public officials, or in any public servant position, for that matter, would
not be considered a public servant due to bad outcomes from unethical behaviors. The real questions,
then, are: how to determine the public official that is, in fact, a public servant compared to the one
who is not; how to know what other jobs could be considered a public service and which ones are not;
or how to recognize the actual acts of public service from the phony ones? Questions like these, as
well as others, will be attempted to be answered in this paper, or at least provide a framework to
answer them through the attempt of clarifying what the definition of public service incorporates into
its jurisdiction. In my Foundations of Public Service class, at the Clinton School of Public Service
(2014), students were divided up in groups to discuss and agree upon a definition of public service. To
my recollection, the group receiving the most recognition from their peers regarding their definition
was Team #7, also known as the Seven Sevens of DiPippa. The team defined

Essay on Social Welfare
The Declaration of Independence was created in 1776 with three basic principles in mind. The pursuits
of life, liberty, and happiness were the paramount issues focused on by the framers. The 18th Century
was a different time. Back then, every man worked on his own farm. He was expected to provide for
himself and his family. It was unheard of for anyone to receive assistance from the government. As the
country progressed and evolved, the rich got richer and the poor poorer. The Gilded Age of the late
19th Century truly showed the disparity in wealth in America with billionaire business barons
employing penniless workers in deplorable conditions. Progressive reforms came along, pioneered by
Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose Party, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, many Americans still rely on government subsidies to provide money for survival necessities.
Despite the reduction in many programs, Social Security, unemployment, and other federal programs
still provide money to millions of Americans. One of the greatest arguments in every political race is
the fight to keep or modify existing legislation that allows these programs to continue. In the 2000
presidential race, these programs were on the forefront of the political bickering between the
Republicans and Democrats. The legislation of 1996 has shown that it is possible to reduce social
welfare programs, but often it is difficult to eliminate them totally.
Social Security is the prime example of a social welfare program that is all but impossible to
eliminate. Created by the passage of the 1935 Social Security Act, money was to be provided to 35
million elderly American citizens who, at the time, faced a bleak, penniless future. Franklin Roosevelt
was one of the staunchest supporters of this legislation:
quot;We can never insure one hundred percent of the population against one hundred percent of the
hazards and vicissitudes of life. But we have tried to frame a law which will give some measure of
protection to the average citizen and to his family against the loss of a job and against poverty ridden
old age. This law, too, represents a cornerstone in a structure which is being built, but is by no means
complete.... It is...a law that will take care of

Gloria Gaynor s Song I Will Survive
I chose the famous and well known song, I Will Survive, because it tells me that I will survive the 7th
grade and school there after! This song was sung in 1978 by Gloria Gaynor, an African American
women. This catchy song was a huge hit during the disco era and has a medium to up beat tempo. I
will survive, best represents me because I will survive homework, sports, and school work, although at
this time in life it does not feel like it! My favorite part of the song is when it says that Oh, no, not I, I
will survive, because it shows that I will never give up and keep trying new things and that I will pull
through. School is like a battlefield, having your ups and your downs. This song is also about
friendship, love , broken hearts,

Terrorism Vs Rebellion
The recitation challenged me to think about things I had never thought of before. What is the
difference between terrorism and rebellion? Can one person be a terrorist without the support of a
group? Is terrorism defined by motive or result?
As my group explored these questions and many more my beliefs were challenged. The group almost
never agreed unanimously. I found myself frequently on the side of the minority. This was highlighted
early on in the discussion when I disagreed with most of my group about scenario 1.
I initially felt the actions of the unnamed man later labeled as Samuel Adams were the actions of a
terrorist. Samuel Adams was not trying to overthrow his government, so he was not a rebel. Adams
wanted to make a point to his government. He did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The exercise helped me lay aside some of my predispositions. When our group came to scenario 5 I
challenged a few of my fellow group members thoughts as well.
When I read scenario 5, it sounded more like civil war than terrorism. When we took an initial vote,
however, all but two of us labeled Nelson Mandela s actions as terrorism. As we talked, I spoke about
civil war, the right of a people to overthrow oppressive government, and the reasons for established
political parties to take up arms against the majority party. At the end of the discussion, enough of the
votes had swung our way for the group to label scenario 5, Not Terrorism.
While the recitation session was thought provoking, for me it brought up more questions than it
answered. I still am not sure whether scenarios 8 and 9 would be considered hate crime, terrorism, or
both. I do not know if you can consider a lone wolf a terrorist if they commit suicide on their only
attack. I wonder if a person can be called a terrorist if they do not intend to spread terror. All these are
ideas I look forward to diving into during the next eight

First Day-Day Descriptive Writing
The First December Day I woke slowly, eyelashes fluttering gently as I blinked my way into reality
gently rising from the slumber I had plunged into the night before. Sunlight was just barely sneaking
through the bamboo blinds of my light pink room, leaving my bed in a shadow of deep purple as if it
was afraid to pull me from my dreaming too soon. The room was still chilly and the floorboards a
frigid slate of ice as I pulled on the slipper socks that my mother had set beside my bed, and sleepily
padded over to the window. With a soft yawn and a stretch, I slowly tugged on the fraying, yellowed
string controlling the shades, fiddling with it slightly as I pulled with all of the might that my tiny
form could allow. Bit by bit, I slowly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was towering in a glorious and perfect upside down ice cream cone shape, a soft teal, with spines
that were more plastic than they were needles. My father tamed it gently with his hand, and proceeded
to trim the bottom branches. With the earsplitting shriek of the chainsaw, and a few tense moments
later, the tree plummeted gracefully to the ground, and my father hoisted it up onto his shoulders,
propping it on the van before giving it a final shove onto the roof. I retrieved the string to tie it up
from the back seat. The bulky twine was surprisingly smooth to the touch, gliding comfortably
between my fingers as the ball unwound. Amazed by this, I promptly called out Daddy! Can I have a
piece?
The reply was of course a short laugh and an, Of course, pumpkin, from my father, as we finished
securing the tree and prepared to go home. The little coconut cream colored rope, now filled with the
dizzying aroma of pine, twirled smoothly between my fingers as I toyed with it dreamily, leaning
myself against the window and gazing at the immaculate, snow draped scenery sweeping by. A small
yawn escaped as the day came to its close, my eyes fluttering shut, and hands stopping their
movements. Sleep took me just as softly as it had let me go, an old friend leading me back to my
dreams aided by the subtle, thumping lullaby of returning

The Purpose of Dreams
Dreams are a very ponderous things. Simply saying, dreams are a stream of images, sounds, and
the actions of something; like a movie. But never have dreams been able to be explained. The
Greeks and Romans claimed that dreams were signs from their gods and had prophetic magic
(www.scientificamerican.com). Even though the purpose of dreams has not been discovered, a
huge movement in the study of dreams occurred at the end of the nineteenth century. In 1952,
scientists in Chicago discovered electrical readings during a certain stage of sleep. When woken
up in this stage, people almost always remember their dreams. This stage is the only stage of
sleep where we dream, and it is known as the REM stage (YouTube.com).

But dreams are a kind of temporary storage area
of consciousness, a spot where we hold memories before we move them from short term to long
term storage. They flash through our minds as dreams before we store them away in the files of
our memory. (10 theories that explain why we dream)
The next theory is referred to as garbage collection . This states that we only dream to
organize and get rid of unwanted ideas or memories. Now this is the main focus of many
theories, but with other details. This theory just focuses on removing unwanted memories. This
theory also states that we forget our dreams because we are looking though our memories and
then discarding them. So basically, our dreams are a replay of our memories. (10 theories that
explain why we dream)
Now this next theory is the exact opposite of the last. It is known as reviewing what we
know . This idea of why we dream says that dreams are a way for our brain to review what
we ve learned. This theory is based off of the research that proves that after taught something and
the patients sleep, they can remember and are better at what they were taught. (10 theories that
explain why we dream)
The next theory is a simple idea, with little information to prove it. In this theory it is
believed that we dream as a way to play dead . The brain acts as if awake, but isn t. People

Data Analysis Method
Throughout our observation week we were able to collect vast amount of data both from observations
and interviews. In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how the collaborative
work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method
as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of
using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory involves
development of theory rather by logical deduction then from experimental data itself. The publication
of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction
and explanation of behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have
decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this
approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation
work, that draws an implication of artifacts in collaborative work. Moreover we have observed that
each artifact might have different purpose of use as it is observed by different point of views from
different subjects. The fact that we were able to actually observe appropriation in collaborative work,
which can be described such as an assimilation of technology by group of people in completely
different manner as designer firstly intended to, made us to logically distinguish between different

Character Rank In Society in The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer
The Canterbury Tales can be understood as a Chaucerian satire according many readers. Chaucer sets
out to deliberately upset the social order present at that time and to mock the faults present in the
characters. Although he baffles about the complexity of the characters, Chaucer also praises and
condemns characters for their unique qualities. Chaucer further gives us feedback of what actions the
characters are taking in their lives. Many of the pilgrims are headed off to Canterbury, to worship the
relics of Saint Thomas Becket. Thomas Becket was murdered by his friend King Henry and soon
Canterbury became a pilgrimage site for people to pray for their healings. As for Chaucer, he observed

(Line 73) The Knight, according to Chaucer takes the code of chivalry very seriously and straight
forth. He based his values on the code of chivalry and doesn t intend to break it. His attire also
contributes to why Chaucer thinks highly of him. His clothes are made from a coarse cloth and his
coat is rust stained. We can infer that the Knight isn t very wealthy but regardless, when compared to
the other characters, he lives the best life of all. The Merchant is a high figure in society because he is
a part of the wealthy class. Although he may seem unmoral because being part of the wealthy class,
Chaucer s perception is very different. Chaucer believed he was a worthy man because he governed all
[his] trade affairs well. (Lines 282 283) Chaucer admires the way the Merchant handles his business,
doing what it takes to get his job done. He borrows money and disguises himself well if and never he
is in debt. Looking at the Merchant physically, we can see that he has nice things such as his elegant
boots [and] Flemish beaver hat. (Lines 272 273) Again, it seems as though he cares immensely over
material possession, but he does it to look more sophisticated in his business plans. Even though the
Merchant is already classified a member of the higher class, Chaucer also puts him in the higher ranks
because of his intelligence in trade and business. Chaucer s principle

Cadence Analysis
A cadence is the notes or chords ending a section of music with feeling of the ending. The term
cadence applies to phrases or complete sections called movements. A cadence is at least two chords
that ends a phrase, section, or piece. A cadence indicates the end of a phrase. A cadence can be labeled
as two types; weak or strong depending on its sense of finality. Cadences must be a sense of closure,
as at the end of a phrase. Rhythm plays an important part in determining where this cadence occurs.
Cadences are strong indicators of the tonic or pitch of a piece. Rhythm is the arrangement of sounds as
they move through time. You can take any rhythm and arrange it to create music. The term rhythm is

Categorical Proposition, Categorical, And Categorical...
Categorical Proposition
A categorical proposition, or categorical statement, is a proposition that declares or denies that all or
particular of the members of one type (the subject term) are comprised in another (the establish term).
The study of opinions consuming categorical statements (i.e., syllogisms) forms a significant branch
of deductive reasoning that initiated with the Ancient Greeks. The Ancient Greeks such as Aristotle
recognized four primary distinct kinds of Categorical Proposition and provided them standard forms
(now regularly termed A, E, I, and O), formerly deduced mathematically by John Venn and George
Boole in the nineteenth era.
What do affirmative propositions have in common?
Affirmative propositions say All S is P. It is general because it talks about each associate of S. It is
affirmative because it says that each member of S is involved in P. A true sample of a universal

Bartleby the Autistic Scrivener Essay
Herman Melville s short story Bartleby the Scrivener is about a lawyer who hires a copyist, named
Bartleby, who politely refuses to not work. While most employers would not tolerate an employee
who continually prefers to do less work, this lawyer finds it hard to dismiss or discipline his scrivener
and allows his insubordination to go on for an extended period of time. Bartleby shows great
acquisition at copying documents and works diligently all day and night. The lawyer soon discovers
that Bartleby has begun to reside in his office and never leaves. After only a few days of working

Bartleby exhibits strong similarities with patients diagnosed as autistic in today s medical community.
Bartleby demonstrates the ability to work well when given strict structural guidelines. A main job of
the scrivener is to copy documents. Upon hiring Bartleby, the lawyer states he did an extraordinary
quantity of writing but it was done silently, palely, mechanically (Melville 2368). Studies have shown
that adults with autism possess the ability to be self sufficient members of society given certain
circumstances. Even though they may lack street smarts, they are capable of attaining their
independence by choosing highly structured and regimented life routines (Klin 345). Copying
documents is a highly structured occupation and requires no need for logical or interpretative skills,
which is why he can do this job so well. Not much is known about Bartleby s previous employment,
except that it is rumored that he worked for the dead letter office for the United States Postal Service.
The dead letter office is where the undeliverable and nonreturnable mail is sent to either be destroyed
or sold at auction. Again, this form of employment would appear to be highly structural and would not
require dianoetic or analytical skills. However, when asked to do other things around the office, even
though it is a common job requirement, he responds that he prefer not to (Melville 2369). Even after

Introduction
A man was running walking to his destination and came across a mountain. He could hear the sounds
of those who were chasing him. The mountain like a colossus stood defiantly in his path. All that he
had was a rope and no equipment to climb the mountain. It was either climb the mountain or risk
being caught. There was no other way to reach his destination. He looked at the mountain and made a
decision. He placed his hand upon the rock and started his ascent up the mountain.
Some people saw the man climbing the mountain from a distance and laughed at him. The man
ignored his critics and moved upon the rock. Inch by inch, he climbed the mountain. Soon his hands
were sore, his feet hurting but he kept on climbing. He had no resources but his rope, his strength and
his mind. Many hours later, he stood upon the summit of the mountain. He did not climb the mountain
because the mountain was there. He climbed the mountain with no resources because he had no
choice.

Causes of Friction in Interracial Marriages Essay
Causes of Friction in Interracial Marriages
The United States has witnessed a considerable amount of social and cultural desegregation between
African Americans and Caucasians. However, despite years of desegregation, social and cultural
differences still exist. One of these differences that still exists is in the institution of marriage.
Americans have been and are continually moving slowly away from segregation. In the past forty
years, a multitude of changes have transformed schools, jobs, voting booths, neighborhoods, hotels,
restaurants and even the wedding altar, facilitating tolerance for racial diversity (Norman 108).
In the 1960 s, when housing discrimination was outlawed, many African Americans moved into
mainly Caucasian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Notwithstanding these examples of desegregation, a deeper analysis shows that there are still signs of
racial discriminations, most apparently seen in the institution of marriage between African Americans
and Caucasians. The United States bureau of the Census reported that in 1987 over 827,000 interracial
married couples existed in America, of which fewer than 200,000 of them were between African
Americans and Caucasians (Herring 29). These numbers (census) do not reflect the spread of
desegregation very well. If there is such a large spread of desegregation between African Americans
and Caucasians from the past to the present, then the numbers should reflect a much larger count of
interracial marriages between these races. This however, is untrue; therefore, there are less apparent
barriers African American and Caucasian couples face.
One of the major barriers that face these couples does not come from themselves but rather from
family disapproval. Lois, a Caucasian woman, and her husband Chuck Bronz, an African American
man, were married in 1960. They have no prejudice about each other and they share the comfortable
rhythm of any long married couple. They had no problems with friends because they had a good mix
of them from different races, friends who looked at the person not the color. However, they had
problems with other people, namely Lois mother. Her mother had sat her down and asked her why she
could not marry her own kind. Lois, of

Informative Speech Outline on Alcatraz Essay

Informative Speech Outline
General Purpose: To inform the class
Specific Purpose: To describe to the audience a brief history of Alcatraz.
Thesis: Alcatraz has been a popular social topic because of the mystery that surrounds it and the
stories exaggerated in movies and television shows.
INTRODUCTION
I. If you disobey the rules of society, they send you to prison; if you disobey the rules of the prison,
they send you to Alcatraz.
II. Alcatraz has been a popular social topic because of the mystery that surrounds it and the stories of
mistreatment and escape attempts exaggerated in movies and television shows.
III. Alcatraz served as the federal government s response to post prohibition America. Both the

C. As quoted in a report by the Bureau of Prisons, ... Alcatraz served an important purpose in taking
the strain off the older and greatly overcrowded institutions... since it enabled us to move the smaller,
closely guarded escape artists, the big time racketeers... and those who needed protection from other
groups...
Now that you know the kind of prisoners that were sent to Alcatraz,
II. I will discuss life on the island and as an inmate in the prison.
A. Each prisoner received a copy of the Rules and Regulations for the Government... Correctional
Institutions as well as a copy of the warden s special rules that explained the daily routine of work and
counts. The inmates were awakened at 6:30am to begin their day. They were required to clean up
themselves and their cell and required to shave three times a week.
B. Alcatraz was to be operated on the principle of very limited privileges to inmates. The privilege of
visitors had to be earned, and mail privileges were limited. They each held jobs within the prison in
the tailor shop, laundry, cobblers shop, model shop, gardening, or help with the food prep in the mess
hall.
C. Contrary to what the movies portray, there were no experiments made on the prisoners, and the
inmates that were transferred there were already twisted and disturbed; Alcatraz didn t turn them into
monsters. There was however, a dungeon that prisoners were locked in if they misbehaved, and they
also had a rule of silence, where they could not

African American And The Caribbean
BLACKS IN AMERICAN AND THE CARIBBEAN
Ariel Holder
SOCL 141
Dr. Danielle James
Caribbean people view race differently than African Americans. Caribbean immigrants who arrive to
the United States are often shell shocked by the tangible presence of racism there. What is all the more
surprising is that some of these tensions are more so perpetuated by African Americans. Before an
immigrant can experience the American dream , a life of joys and hardship, they are adequately
discouraged, or warned to reconsider moving to America. They are warned that success will most
certainly be harder for them. Warned that things are different here and that the color of your skin has,
in more ways than one, already set them up for failure. But why is ... Show more content on

Nationality, maybe; but not race. They never faced the outright hatred that African American or Blacks
in America face, which makes Islanders view themselves in a different way. It is most likely,
socioeconomic class separates that the Caribbean nation. On the other hand, African Americans have
intense and often times unnecessary sense of racial awareness. There are some things that both groups
can relate to as Black people and yet there are many more things that sets them apart.
What sets African Americans and Islanders apart is indeed their history, which is why we are so
different. I would like to start at the beginning on what first shaped these two groups. Many can trace
of the groups heritage of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade back to Africa or other countries such as India,
Asian (indentured servants); however Caribbean people have mainly held onto that heritage, mostly
for cultural aspects of ancestry rather for racial heritage. And many islands still practice this culture
today. It is seen in the way we speak (a fusion of African language with other languages, creole,
patois, Portuguese and numerous dialects), in our holidays, and festivities.
Slaves that survived the voyage from Africa were sold to various places, several islands within the

Ohm s law resistors in parallel in series
Lab 4
Class: PHY 1434 E475
Due date: March, 13 20144
Group Names: Hisham Sageer
Objectives:
Our object is to confirm Ohm s law by analyzing the dependence of the electrical current as a function
of voltage and as a function of resistance. Also, we studied the current flow and voltage in series and
parallel. Finally, the lab determined the equivalence resistance of series and parallel combination of
resistors and compared the results with theoretical data.
Theoretical Background:
The first thing that needs to be described in this lab is what the electric current I:

Set the ammeter to the range of mA and the voltmeter across the resistor the range of 25V. b After the
instructor has checked the circuits, turn on the power supply. c Vary the output voltage of the power
supply from 4 V to 10 V in the increment of 1 V and record the readings of the voltage V across the
resistor and the corresponding current I through the resistor in Table 1. d Using the same circuit setup,
set resistance of the variable resistor box to R = 1200Ω and repeat the steps 2 and 3.
2 Investigate the variation of the current with resistance when the voltage is constant. a Use the same
circuit setup and set the output voltage of power supply to 12V. b By keeping the output voltage of the
power supply constant, vary the resistance of the resistor box from 700 Ω to 1700 Ω in increments of
200 Ω. Record values of the current I through the resistor and the corresponding resistance R in
table2.
Data:
Attached to report.
Calculations:
1 Use the data from table 1 to plot a graph of current Vs. voltage for both values of the resistance.
Determine the slope of the graph. From the slope of the graph find the resistance using:
a) R = R = R =1000 Ω
% diff = = 0%
b) R = R = R =1250 Ω
c) Slope = 12.7

Judith Butler Heterosexuality
When analyzing the matters of how sex, gender, race and class are implicated in sexuality, many
questions will arise. Furthermore, race class sex and gender are all separate interconnected categories
that have a colossal influence in the way individuals are viewed, perceived, acknowledged and
accepted in todays society. Many theorists such as Judith Butler, who is known as one of the most
prominent American philosophers and gender theorists, have developed ideas that support her views
on gender performativity, as well as the social constructions of sex and gender that govern the people
of todays society. As noted in the course text, New Sexuality Studies, there has been a revolution in
the study of sexuality. Sex is today understood as fundamentally social (NSS, xv). Throughout the
exploration of this research essay, following week six on Heterosexuality , in addition to various
sources, this paper will exhibit how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The course texts and articles used to support this research question will accurately portray that the
underlying problem may not be the privileged status of heterosexuals, but rather societies dualistic
categories that pit groups of people against one another (NSS, 259).
According to Judith Butler, societies that believe in a natural gender order are also organized around
the norm of heterosexuality. Butler argues that heterosexuality is the basis of a culture of romance,
marriage, and family that is enforced by our laws, government, churches schools and military (NSS,
11). Therefore, through this system of enforced heterosexuality that governs individuals everyday
lives it is comprehensible why societies divide individuals into two gender types, viewing men and
women as the only natural, normal way of living. In the article; How Sex, Gender and Sexuality
Constellations are Constituted in Secondary Schools, written by Deborah

The Dark Side of Disney
When you first meet someone, what are the first things that you notice? Sex? Race? Or maybe the
brands of clothing that indicate social status? Human beings as a society judge and categorize others,
labeling those who stray from social norm as weird or strange. Who are we to make these judgments
and where did these ideas of right and wrong come from? The Walt Disney Company plays an
important role in depicting who and what people should and shouldn t be. Every aspect of Disney,
including movies, TV shows, and products, are supported by most of the world for entertainment and

presented in Disney films effect the cultural development of children. This is really directed at parents
and people who want to be parents as it makes them think about all the issues Mickey Mouse
Monopoly is bringing to light. Justin Lewis, a university professor, points out that Disney is so large
and spread out globally, that its stories will be the stories that will form and help form a child s
imaginary world, all over the world, and that s an incredible amount of power, enormous amount of
power (Mickey Mouse Monopoly). He continues to say that we should question what Disney is
teaching and what children are learning from their films. He uses rhetorical question to strengthen his
point, asking if these [are] the stories we really want our children to hear (Mickey Mouse Monopoly).
He brings to light that if those kinds of questions aren t being asked, then people are allowing Disney
to shape the imaginations of millions of children. This really sets up the film s discussion on the
influence Disney has on children. By introducing this part of

Six Basic Principles Of Punishment

Irvin Arias
National University Punishment on Trial: Six Basic Principles of Punishment This paper explores six
basic principles of effective punishment in which are most relevant for consideration when using
procedures that may function as punishment to change any child s given behavior and if these factors
influence whether a given contingency functions as a Punisher.
There Must Exist A Behavioral Contingency
Behavioral contingency is the heart of outcome oriented punishment. Defined as, a behavioral
contingency is a reliable and temporal relationship between a specific behavior and a consequence.

be specific so the correct treatment is administered. Always be specific and delineate the consequence
before initiating the strategy. For example: if you don t wash the dishes correctly, you have to wash
them 10 more times. The basic principles of punishment were proven to work because they were used
for research many years ago on human beings and also animals in which have driven application and
theory. Punishment is more apparent if reinforcement maintaining the problem behavior can be

Introversion In Pop Culture
What kind of introvert are you? Click here to find out with this quiz made by Science of Us. Like me,

pop culture has defined introversion in quite a few confusing ways. BRIEF HISTORY OF
INTROVERSION Freud s protege C.G. Jung called it inwardly directed psychic energy , but his work
on introversion has been criticized. As Patricia Barrigan rightfully argued in 1960, the idea required
more specification due to clashing concepts of introversion. What appear to be minor distinctions
between the various conceptions may in fact be crucial ones, she wrote. The commonly accepted

How Did Bach Become A Composer
In the spring of 1723, when Bach signed a contract to become the new organist and a teacher at the St.
Thomas Church and Thomas School in Leipzig, he was already known more as an organist than a
composer. Bach had an extraordinary ability to improvise on the organ and was able to compose
various style of music. He wrote educational works for his pupil and his duties were mainly to provide
the weekly worships of cantatas. And also, his publication of keyboard pieces had very little to do with
his duties. However, his pride as a composer was determined to publish these partitas. He also
competed with Johann Kuhnau, who was a well known composer at Germany at this time.
In 1726, after three and half years at Leipzig, Bach started to publish his own works. He was full of
carefulness and cautiousness to publish his works. At this time, his ideal style was not to be as long in
length as English Suites, not as delicate as French Suites, simple but meaningful and virtuoso. He also
targeted the piece to amateur musicians to play for their own pleasure at home and salons, rather than
large public performance venues, because in those times, keyboard had become the favorite family
instrument among the growing number of middle class amateur musicians. ... Show more content on

1921 as a member of the minority Labour Group. Simmons was considered a firebrand by political
opponents and allies alike for his uncompromising position on issues such as unemployment,
homelessness and temperance. Intermittently, between 1921 and 1945, he served on the council for
over fifteen years. First elected to Parliament in 1929 for Birmingham Erdington, he remained loyal to
the Labour Party when two of his political patrons, Oswald Mosley and Ramsey Macdonald, did not.
Generally supportive of Mosley until the latter formed the New Party, Simmons was anguished by
Macdonald s decision to form the National Government in 1931. As an MP, the rights of ex
servicemen of all ranks remained one of his priorities; a disabled private soldier himself, he utilized
his experience to campaign for others. He also spoke in favour of disarmament, limitations on military
expenditure and support for the League of Nations. The strength of his convictions on these issues led
him to defy the Labour Whip on occasion; in March 1930 he spoke in favour and voted for an
amendment to the Air estimates that would have virtually abolished the Air Force.
In the period leading up to 1939 he was critical of the Chamberlain government

He then goes on to explain the financial situation Jesus and his family was resting in. From wealth to no money. He describes Jesus as sympathetic to the poor, the despised, children, women and the hated. He highlights Jesus love for people and social outcast basically. Luke truly portrays Jesus in this gospel broadly according to the image of the divine man or the perfect man . These divine powers are visible and are exercised, both in his teaching and in his miracle doing. The image of the divine man also belongs in Jesus travel narrative. • 4. How Is Harry Potter Related To Religion The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on the inside of skulls, to be perused by an invader. The mind is a complex and many layered thing. (Severus Snape, Book five.) The book series entitled Harry Potter has Biblical themes hidden beneath all of the spells, charms, and enchantments. Harry Potter, in my own opinion, is very Christ like and I feel like the book series could be looked at like a modernized version of the bible. He resembles Jesus Christ in multiple ways. J.K Rowling has subtly featured religious symbolism in her books such as, Harry dying for the wizarding world much like Jesus died willingly for our sins. After they died, they were both resurrected. Harry and Jesus know a lot about Sacrifice and selflessness. All of the characters in the Harry Potter series experiences sacrificial love. Hermione Granger, one of Harry s two sidekicks throughout his school years, has to obliviate her parents minds because she doesn t want them getting hurt. Her mother and father are both muggles, therefore Voldemort would find them and murder them. Ronald Weasley, Harry s other sidekick, sacrifices himself in a game of Wizard s Chess for Hermione and Harry in their first year at Hogwarts. Dobby the house elf, who has saved Harry s life on many occasion, sacrificed his life to save Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna Lovegood and Mr. Olivander out of pure love and friendship. Harry s mother and father, Lily and James Potter, sacrificed their selves for their only son just like Jesus Christ sacrificed his body for us and he sacrificed his life on earth for us. Both Harry and Jesus did such a selfless thing for the people they loved and cared for. Every character from the bible resembles a person from the bible. • 5. Delay Analysis Of The Critical Path All of the delay analysis techniques in this case study depend on the analysis of the critical path. These methods are categorized as the CPM techniques for quantification. Methods like as planned vs. as built are simple and easy to perform; it just follows the basic guidelines without referencing with the supplementary data and any modification. On the other hand, methods like window analysis, collapsed as built using complex, additive and subtractive analysis give better and accurate results because they take into account any changes during the project and therefore recommended for incorporating in delay analysis. Not to mention, these methods need detailed project information followed by rigorous analysis. The results could have been more specific if detailed information in the form of daily reports, schedule of values and pay application would have been available. By sticking to the basic number of delay in activities, most of the results are observed to be close if not same. This research corroborates the use of impacted as planned, collapsed as built, time impact analysis and as planned but for, for the analysis of delays in day to day industry scenarios because calculation of delays and attribution can be easily carried out with these methods. With extensive information and rigorous analysis of the same, better and more efficient results can be observed. Concurrent delays are the most disputatious of the delays and are still unresolved. • 7. Public Service And Public Services Firefighters, police officers, public officials, and health care personnel are some of the first careers individuals think of when the phrase, public service, is mentioned. Other people think of philanthropists, teachers, or even nonprofit organizations; however, individuals in these positions are not the only public servants throughout the world; and in some instances, the same individuals who serve as your police officers, public officials, or in any public servant position, for that matter, would not be considered a public servant due to bad outcomes from unethical behaviors. The real questions, then, are: how to determine the public official that is, in fact, a public servant compared to the one who is not; how to know what other jobs could be considered a public service and which ones are not; or how to recognize the actual acts of public service from the phony ones? Questions like these, as well as others, will be attempted to be answered in this paper, or at least provide a framework to answer them through the attempt of clarifying what the definition of public service incorporates into its jurisdiction. In my Foundations of Public Service class, at the Clinton School of Public Service (2014), students were divided up in groups to discuss and agree upon a definition of public service. To my recollection, the group receiving the most recognition from their peers regarding their definition was Team #7, also known as the Seven Sevens of DiPippa. The team defined ... • 8. Essay on Social Welfare The Declaration of Independence was created in 1776 with three basic principles in mind. The pursuits of life, liberty, and happiness were the paramount issues focused on by the framers. The 18th Century was a different time. Back then, every man worked on his own farm. He was expected to provide for himself and his family. It was unheard of for anyone to receive assistance from the government. As the country progressed and evolved, the rich got richer and the poor poorer. The Gilded Age of the late 19th Century truly showed the disparity in wealth in America with billionaire business barons employing penniless workers in deplorable conditions. Progressive reforms came along, pioneered by Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose Party, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today, many Americans still rely on government subsidies to provide money for survival necessities. Despite the reduction in many programs, Social Security, unemployment, and other federal programs still provide money to millions of Americans. One of the greatest arguments in every political race is the fight to keep or modify existing legislation that allows these programs to continue. In the 2000 presidential race, these programs were on the forefront of the political bickering between the Republicans and Democrats. The legislation of 1996 has shown that it is possible to reduce social welfare programs, but often it is difficult to eliminate them totally. Social Security is the prime example of a social welfare program that is all but impossible to eliminate. Created by the passage of the 1935 Social Security Act, money was to be provided to 35 million elderly American citizens who, at the time, faced a bleak, penniless future. Franklin Roosevelt was one of the staunchest supporters of this legislation: quot;We can never insure one hundred percent of the population against one hundred percent of the hazards and vicissitudes of life. But we have tried to frame a law which will give some measure of protection to the average citizen and to his family against the loss of a job and against poverty ridden old age. This song was sung in 1978 by Gloria Gaynor, an African American women. This catchy song was a huge hit during the disco era and has a medium to up beat tempo. I will survive, best represents me because I will survive homework, sports, and school work, although at this time in life it does not feel like it! My favorite part of the song is when it says that Oh, no, not I, I will survive, because it shows that I will never give up and keep trying new things and that I will pull through. • 10. Terrorism Vs Rebellion The recitation challenged me to think about things I had never thought of before. What is the difference between terrorism and rebellion? Can one person be a terrorist without the support of a group? Is terrorism defined by motive or result? As my group explored these questions and many more my beliefs were challenged. The group almost never agreed unanimously. I found myself frequently on the side of the minority. This was highlighted early on in the discussion when I disagreed with most of my group about scenario 1. I initially felt the actions of the unnamed man later labeled as Samuel Adams were the actions of a terrorist. Samuel Adams was not trying to overthrow his government, so he was not a rebel. Adams wanted to make a point to his government. He did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The exercise helped me lay aside some of my predispositions. When our group came to scenario 5 I challenged a few of my fellow group members thoughts as well. When I read scenario 5, it sounded more like civil war than terrorism. When we took an initial vote, however, all but two of us labeled Nelson Mandela s actions as terrorism. As we talked, I spoke about civil war, the right of a people to overthrow oppressive government, and the reasons for established political parties to take up arms against the majority party. At the end of the discussion, enough of the votes had swung our way for the group to label scenario 5, Not Terrorism. While the recitation session was thought provoking, for me it brought up more questions than it answered. I still am not sure whether scenarios 8 and 9 would be considered hate crime, terrorism, or both. I do not know if you can consider a lone wolf a terrorist if they commit suicide on their only attack. I wonder if a person can be called a terrorist if they do not intend to spread terror. Sunlight was just barely sneaking through the bamboo blinds of my light pink room, leaving my bed in a shadow of deep purple as if it was afraid to pull me from my dreaming too soon. The room was still chilly and the floorboards a frigid slate of ice as I pulled on the slipper socks that my mother had set beside my bed, and sleepily padded over to the window. With a soft yawn and a stretch, I slowly tugged on the fraying, yellowed string controlling the shades, fiddling with it slightly as I pulled with all of the might that my tiny form could allow. My father tamed it gently with his hand, and proceeded to trim the bottom branches. With the earsplitting shriek of the chainsaw, and a few tense moments later, the tree plummeted gracefully to the ground, and my father hoisted it up onto his shoulders, propping it on the van before giving it a final shove onto the roof. I retrieved the string to tie it up from the back seat. The bulky twine was surprisingly smooth to the touch, gliding comfortably between my fingers as the ball unwound. Amazed by this, I promptly called out Daddy! Can I have a piece? The reply was of course a short laugh and an, Of course, pumpkin, from my father, as we finished securing the tree and prepared to go home. The little coconut cream colored rope, now filled with the dizzying aroma of pine, twirled smoothly between my fingers as I toyed with it dreamily, leaning myself against the window and gazing at the immaculate, snow draped scenery sweeping by. But never have dreams been able to be explained. The Greeks and Romans claimed that dreams were signs from their gods and had prophetic magic (www.scientificamerican.com). Even though the purpose of dreams has not been discovered, a huge movement in the study of dreams occurred at the end of the nineteenth century. In 1952, scientists in Chicago discovered electrical readings during a certain stage of sleep. When woken up in this stage, people almost always remember their dreams. In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how the collaborative work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory involves development of theory rather by logical deduction then from experimental data itself. The publication of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction and explanation of behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation work, that draws an implication of artifacts in collaborative work. Chaucer sets out to deliberately upset the social order present at that time and to mock the faults present in the characters. Although he baffles about the complexity of the characters, Chaucer also praises and condemns characters for their unique qualities. Chaucer further gives us feedback of what actions the characters are taking in their lives. Many of the pilgrims are headed off to Canterbury, to worship the relics of Saint Thomas Becket. We can infer that the Knight isn t very wealthy but regardless, when compared to the other characters, he lives the best life of all. The Merchant is a high figure in society because he is a part of the wealthy class. Although he may seem unmoral because being part of the wealthy class, Chaucer s perception is very different. However, despite years of desegregation, social and cultural differences still exist. One of these differences that still exists is in the institution of marriage. Americans have been and are continually moving slowly away from segregation. In the past forty years, a multitude of changes have transformed schools, jobs, voting booths, neighborhoods, hotels, restaurants and even the wedding altar, facilitating tolerance for racial diversity (Norman 108). In the 1960 s, when housing discrimination was outlawed, many African Americans moved into mainly Caucasian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Notwithstanding these examples of desegregation, a deeper analysis shows that there are still signs of racial discriminations, most apparently seen in the institution of marriage between African Americans and Caucasians. The United States bureau of the Census reported that in 1987 over 827,000 interracial married couples existed in America, of which fewer than 200,000 of them were between African Americans and Caucasians (Herring 29). These numbers (census) do not reflect the spread of desegregation very well. If there is such a large spread of desegregation between African Americans and Caucasians from the past to the present, then the numbers should reflect a much larger count of interracial marriages between these races. This however, is untrue; therefore, there are less apparent barriers African American and Caucasian couples face. One of the major barriers that face these couples does not come from themselves but rather from family disapproval. Lois, a Caucasian woman, and her husband Chuck Bronz, an African American man, were married in 1960. They have no prejudice about each other and they share the comfortable rhythm of any long married couple. They had no problems with friends because they had a good mix of them from different races, friends who looked at the person not the color. How Did Bach Become A Composer In the spring of 1723, when Bach signed a contract to become the new organist and a teacher at the St. Thomas Church and Thomas School in Leipzig, he was already known more as an organist than a composer. During the inter war period, Simmons worked as a Daily Herald organizer and an inspector in a car factory but also experienced spells of unemployment. He was elected to Birmingham City Council in 1921 as a member of the minority Labour Group. Simmons was considered a firebrand by political opponents and allies alike for his uncompromising position on issues such as unemployment, homelessness and temperance. Intermittently, between 1921 and 1945, he served on the council for over fifteen years. First elected to Parliament in 1929 for Birmingham Erdington, he remained loyal to the Labour Party when two of his political patrons, Oswald Mosley and Ramsey Macdonald, did not. Generally supportive of Mosley until the latter formed the New Party, Simmons was anguished by Macdonald s decision to form the National Government in 1931. As an MP, the rights of ex servicemen of all ranks remained one of his priorities; a disabled private soldier himself, he utilized his experience to campaign for others. He also spoke in favour of disarmament, limitations on military expenditure and support for the League of Nations. The strength of his convictions on these issues led him to defy the Labour Whip on occasion; in March 1930 he spoke in favour and voted for an amendment to the Air estimates that would have virtually abolished the Air Force. In the period leading up to 1939 he was critical of the Chamberlain government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
