Shakespeare As A Modern Comedy
William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and actor. He is widely regarded as the greatest
writer in the English language and the world s pre eminent dramatist. He is often called England s
national poet and the Bard of Avon. Shakespeare has written many plays during his time. He wrote
poems, tragedies, and of course some of his most known plays are comedies. What made Shakespeare
so popular? Why are his comedies so well known? How did his way of writing comedies form the
way others wrote and continue to write in the years after him? These are some questions many
educators and students want to understand while studying Shakespeare. Focusing on his writing within
his most popular comedies, Shakespeare has formed literature into what it is today. When the first
collected edition of Shakespeare s plays, the First Folio, was published in 1623, its contents page
divided them into three categories: comedies, histories and, tragedies. The list of comedies included
Measure for Measure and The Merchant of Venice, plays that modern audiences and readers have not
found particularly funny. Also included were two late plays, The Tempest and The Winter s Tale, that
critics often now classify as romances (Mullan). If we ask ourselves what these four plays have in
common with those such as As You Like It or Twelfth Night; which we are used to calling comedies,
the answer gives us a clue to the meaning of comedy for many of Shakespeare s educated
contemporaries. All of them

Kris Gastelum Case Study
The UFC travels to Long Island, New York on Saturday for a card headlined by a fighter who is ready
risk it all for a win in his native state a win that he has chased for quite some time. That fighter, No. 5
ranked middleweight and former title holder Chris Weidman, will face rising star and No. 8 ranked
middleweight Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of the evening. Weidman has lost three straight
fights, including a title defense against Luke Rockhold and loses to Yoel Romero and most recently
Gegard Mousasi in April. He hasn t won a fight since May 2015, and his loss to Mousasi was as
confusing to the fans as it was to him. After absorbing consecutive knees to the head that were initially
declared illegal by the referee Dan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Michael Bisping stepped in on two weeks notice and shockingly won the title that Weidman was
trying to get back. If Weidman wants to get back to his winning ways, he ll have to be at the top of his
game against a young and hungry lion. Gastelum looks like he has finally found a home in the
middleweight division after struggling to make weight for fights in the welterweight division. In his
last bout, he looked impressive against Belfort, finishing him in the first round and winning
Performance of the Night honors. However, the fight was later overturned due to a positive marijuana
test. Prior to the Belfort fight, Gastelum dominated Tim Kennedy at UFC 206 with a third round KO,
cementing his place in the division. Gastelum, 25 years old, showed tremendous hand speed and the
ability to take a punch in both fights, making him a far more dangerous fighter than he s often given
credit for. Now fighting at a more comfortable weight, he has shown speed and athleticism that gives
him the potential to wreak havoc in the 185 pound division. Gastelum s only losses in the UFC have
come by split decision to welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and No. 6 ranked welterweight Neil
Magny. Aside Kennedy, he has key victories over Uriah Hall, Johny Hendricks, Nate Marquardt and
Jake Ellenberger. A win over Weidman could catapult Gastelum up the middleweight rankings, while a
win for Weidman could potentially land him back into

Evaluate The Labeling Theory
The labeling theory is society using terms to describe or classify a class or group of people. The
people s self identify and behavior can be impacted and influenced by the words that are used. This
leads to stereotyping and the concept of self fulfilling prophecy as well, because people will believe
that they can only live to be what society has told them they can be. People should not be labelled as
criminal or violent before they even portray the behavior. It is not fair to them and the future they may
or may not have. Telling a person that they prone to violent and criminal behavior will immediately
change the views that they have on themselves. They will automatically believe that the second they
fail at a task or fall short of their life goals, it was because they were not meant for them. Not only are
the labels destroying the person s reputation with outside people, the labels are destroying their
mentality as well. The predictions are putting them in a box before they are given a chance to develop
the said criminal behavior. It does not allow the person to grow into a fully ... Show more content on

They have not even been exposed to half of what the world has to offer them. Testing them to check if
they are prone to criminal behavior and removing them from the classroom into a special program will

possible psychological disorders. Children may also develop a sense of resentment for the test and
view the children who passed the test are children who think they are better than them. All of these
reasons and more will only cause the children to exhibit the violent behavior they have been told they
have. Their violent behavior as an adult may have just been anger management issues that could have

Marketing Plan for Samsung Essay
Introduction
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd has proved to the world of business that they are one of the most
advanced technology companies in terms of revenue. With more advancement in the technology
which the present market can handle at this point, Samsung has made the way for the future in
electronics industry. It is the largest mobile phone maker and television manufacturer.
Samsung s New Toy
One of the most popular new toys in the electronics market today, is the unbelievable 3D TV. First 3D
TV was launched in 2010 March, and has already had a significant impact on the electronics market
(Wilson, 2010). With release earlier this year, Samsung has dominated the market, controlling
approximately 90% of the total share. One ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ability to market the brand name. Samsung has been able to position the market in such a way that it
has marketed the brand name strategically. It has been named the top rising brand by Interbrand and is
the 9th most valuable brand valued nearly $33 billion (Interbrand, 2012).
Weaknesses The Company might be able to market the product nicely or it might have been able to get
a large market share but there are certain weaknesses which the company has. Some of them are listed
below. Patent infringement. Samsung has a loose policy regarding the infringement of patents. The
company s patents were not done through a proper channel, thus ending up infringing Apple s and
other firms patents (Wikipedia, 2012). This outcome damaged Samsung s reputation and suffered
losses. Low profit margin. Samsung Electronics is the largest technology business in the world in
terms of revenue. But its low profit margin was the result of low cost of their product and a price cut
they had to endure (Wikipedia, 2012). Focus on too many products. This point could be the strength as
well as the weakness. Samsung Electronic serves many industries with many different products in
them. They lost their focus because there were competing in too many products and too many
industries, which was their disadvantage over their competitors (Shaughnessy, 2013).

Character Analysis Of Sredni Vashtar
Sredni Vashtar Characterization Essay The popularity of ferrets has skyrocketed over time, and they
have quickly become one of the most top ten popular pets to have. However; unlike cats in ancient
Egypt, they were never worshipped. But this is not the case with the main character of Sredni Vashtar,
Conradin.
Diverse characters are important when it comes to writing a story. The main character of the story
might be referred to as a round or dynamic character. A round character is realistic and is changed in
some way by the end of the story. For example, Lestat de Lioncourt in the novel Interview with the
Vampire. Lestat, at first, had one goal of just doing whatever he pleased. By the end of the novel,
Lestat had changed to see things the way that his friend, Louis, did. A dynamic character is one who is
well developed and changes a lot throughout the whole story. And example of a dynamic character is
Louis de Pointe du Lac, who is also a main character in the novel Interview with the Vampire. Louis
was constantly changing because of the events that he had to go through.
Without supporting characters, the development of the main characters, or even of the story, might not
make sense. The supporting characters are referred to as a flat or a static character. A flat character is a
recognizable character type who might not be fully developed, but is still useful and relevant to the
story. For example, Estelle and Celeste, who are in Interview with the Vampire as well. Estelle and
Celeste did not have major roles in the novel, in fact they hardly ever spoke, but they were still useful
because of their role in the very important group of vampires. Finally, a static character is one who
does not change during the story. He would still be very important to the story, he would have no
personal growth. An example of a this would be Armand, another vampire in the novel Interview with
the Vampire. This vampire was important to the story because he impacted the main character, Louis.
But, not matter what, Armand s feelings and morals never drastically changed.
In the short story, Sredni Vashtar by Saki, one of the main characters, Conradin, would be considered
as a round character. Like Lestat, Conradin s

Essay On Fairly Price For Free College
A Costly Price For Free College A world where currency is obsolete, everything is without a price, and
every action has no reaction. What may sound like a dream now could possibly be the future for our
families. A world where our children let their college degrees wither away while they work a
minimum wage job because that was all that was hiring. A world where the American economy drives
into the ground because we are drowning in national debt faster than anyone can bail the water out. To
live in a world where the hundreds of thousands of students who are on track to earn a college degree
discover the catastrophically small value their college degree will soon be worth sounds like a
nightmare. Today s America is putting citizens at risk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once every individual is given a college education, the job search becomes more vigorous and will
thus prohibit many from getting a job. The amount of students that will not be able to use their college
degree in the real world, provided if college is free, is unfathomable. Those lucky enough to graduate
face another hurdle: 44 percent of recent college graduates occupy jobs which do not require a college
degree. Taken together, these numbers suggest that only one third of college enrollees emerge from the
system with both a degree and a relevant job (Cooper). Moreover, Cooper explains that students will
have limited job opportunities if there is too much competition in their desired field. Consequently, it
now becomes a rarity for a student to pursue and achieve the exact career of which they desire when
the competition escalates dramatically. Not every person can be a doctor, not because they do not have
the capability, but because America does not need that many doctors. If all colleges and universities
were free, the amount of people attending would significantly increase, causing the already intense
career competition to become notably more competitive as well as increasingly more difficult.
Branching off from the concept of over crowding the playing field, the increase in college diplomas
would significantly decrease their value. Preston Cooper perfectly explains this in his article The

Essay On Flesh And Blood So Cheap By Albert Marin
Have you ever wondered when the fire extinguisher was made? Well in the novel Flesh and Blood So
Cheap: The Triangle Fire And Its Legacy by Albert Marrin shows how the catastrophe led by a flame
that grew massive burning the triangle shirtwaist factory without use of the extinguisher, it also shows
that the owners don t tolerate safety standards or use them. Albert Marrin uses two types of evidence,
one being implicit and the other being explicit, both of them shows how the evidence can be inferred
or just stated directly out of the text. Additionally, using implicit, we can infer how the factory is
taking safety standards as careless goal. In the text, it states that Those who reached the ninth floor
stairway door found it locked. with this evidence we can infer using implicit that it implies a major
concern on the people leaving them with no way to escape except to die. Another failed mistake that
we can imply in the text states A person falling from the ninth floor struck with a force equal to eleven
thousand pounds. and another is Nothing! No ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sub title Holocaust ultimately means destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused
by fire or nuclear war. This we can find explicit because Albert Marrin uses the term Holocaust to
indicate that the tragedy that has happened had fire involved that killed many people. Another explicit
evidence in the text is A person falling from the ninth floor struck with a force equal to eleven
thousand pounds. Some jumpers bounced off the nets, dying when they hit the ground; others tore the
nets, crashing through to the pavement. this disaster had been caused by the unsure and unsafety of
hazardness by the attempted rescue by the firemen leaving death to the workers. This we can smally

Essay on The Introduction of Prohibition
The Introduction of Prohibition
Prohibition was introduced in 1920 as part of an amendment to the Constitution of the USA. It was
introduced for a variety of different reasons including a wartime concern for preserving grain for food
rather than for brewing and distilling. There were also feelings against the German Americans, who
were responsible for brewing and distilling, at a time when America was at war against Germany
which also let the Anti Saloon league influence the general public before the main objectors, the men,
returned home. Even though there are many reasons for the introduction of prohibition there was only
one main consequence. It created the greatest criminal boom in American ... Show more content on

They said that buying alcohol would benefit the Germans and you would be being disloyal to your
country to purchase something that would benefit the enemy . Nevertheless, this would not stop the
large population of German Americans buying the alcohol along with many other Americans who had
come to America from other countries. An additional consideration that led people in the belief that
prohibition would succeed was the cost of alcohol so people may have used the law as an opportunity
to give up alcohol without seeming odd to others. Moreover, this problem would not prevent wealthy
Americans from trying to purchase alcohol because they had the money to do it without sending their
family into the downwards spiral of poverty. Also, to begin with the level of enforcement for the law
was so high that even if people did not support the law, the prohibition commissioners could have
worked hard to dispose of alcohol whilst gathering support. However, this hard work soon ended
when the commissioners, along with the police, politicians, magistrates, party officials and clerks,
began to accept bribes from gangsters and the owners of speakeasies to ignore the activities that were
taking place around them. Even though there are many reasons that say that prohibition could have
succeeded there are always more

Analysis Of The Story Going Back Home
As people journey through life, they discover many qualities they hold that make them unique and
interesting. These qualities differentiate them from others, and help form their identity. In the stories
we have read in class, such as Going Back Home , written by Toyomi Igus and Michele Wood, Nei
Um Lung, Ma? by May Yee, and The Jade Peony by Wayson Choy, the characters hobbies, beliefs,
and family roots make them unique and interesting. Due to many factors, including different
experiences in life, an individual develops many aspects in their identity that are different from others.
Hobbies, which are adopted and changed throughout one s life, express who an individual is. There
are many different reasons as to why people adopt hobbies. It may be a way to pass the time, to
express their likes and dislikes, or a way for them to channel their emotions. In the story Going Back
Home , the narrator explains how the painter, Michelle Wood, expressed her life and her ancestors
lives through her art. She created self portraits to show different aspects of her life, her grandparents
lives, and a blue musician s life, utilizing the colours, patterns, and objects to depict their hardships,
culture, and opportunities. The house and fence represent the foundations of my past. The boards are
my life lessons the crooked ones are the tragedies and the hardships. I am holding a hen, which is a

Article Titled Personal Critical Reaction to the Case for...
Part 1 Personal Critical Reaction Conspiracy to commit murder is one of the most difficult things to
prove without a reasonable doubt and because the prosecution was aware that the case for murder
against the former Sheriff, Dorsey was based upon a conspiracy charge the course of action for the
prosecution was relatively clear. They had to somehow convince a jury that Dorsey had recruited the
four other men, Patrick Cuffy, Paul Skyers, Melvin Walker and David Ramsey with the express intent
of killing Derwin Brown. The reason that these types of murder charges are fundamentally difficult to
prosecute lies in the fact that if the recruiter/master mind behind the event is ultimately successful on
the first attempt to obtain an assassin, there rarely anyone, other than the actual killer(s) to testify that
the mastermind in fact ordered and also likely made some sort of compensation for the act on the part
of the assassin(s). In this case the prosecution proved to this jury using the testimony of, Patrick Cuffy,
Paul Skyers, two of the admitted assassins, on immunity deals to provide evidence against Dorsey.
The ethical dilemma is then the immunity deals offered to Cuffy and Skyers. The dilemma is
fascinating as these sorts of immunity deals, in the case of murder are relatively rare, as most people
feel that the actual doer of the crime, is as guilty or more guilty than the mastermind behind it, as that
individual(s) has the ultimate decision making as to whether the crime

Dr. King s Letter From Birmingham Jail
Dr. King Lays the Clergymen s Anxiety to Rest
Dr. Martin Luther King addressed many topics in, Letter from Birmingham Jail . He answered all the
issues that were aimed towards him in a very skillful and well thought out manner. These issues came
from, A Call For Unity , which was a letter that was published by eight local clergymen expressing
their feelings about what Dr. King was doing. One concern in particular that King did an outstanding
job of confronting was that of the clergymen s anxiety about him breaking the law. King addresses the
question of, How can you advocate breaking some laws and obeying others? by clarifying that there
are just and unjust laws. He also goes on to explain the difference between the two, the effect of unjust
laws on the people that they are aimed towards, as well as examples of such laws. Furthermore, he
explains why they should be broken and gives examples of when they ve been broken in the past with
the usage of civil disobedience. First, Dr. King clears up any idea that he s just someone who has
broken the law for no reason. He does this by saying; I would be the first to advocate obeying just
laws. One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a
moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. (Para 15) This statement tells us that Dr. King is simply
adhering to his moral responsibility by doing as he s supposed to. He knows that following a law that
is not fair makes no sense, and it

Usa Patriot Act Essay
USA Patriot Act of 2001
In 2001, George W. Bush signed a law to provided tools to catch and prevent terrorism. It was called
the USA Patriot Act of 2001. It was George W. Bush s response to the terrorist attack that took place
in September 11, 2001 in New York and Pentagon. The Law ensured security and safety for the
citizens but it also violated individual right. The law took a lot of criticism because it violated
constitutional right, and it created problems between individual right perspective and the public order
advocates.
In September 11, 2001 United States witnessed one of the worst attack that took place in New York
and Pentagon. A lot of people died that day. And on October 26, 2001 George W. Bush singed the
USA Patriot Act it was anti terrorism law. The USA Patriot Act gave new powers to the Justice
Department. Even if the law assured us the safety, it also violated the Bills of Rights. The purpose of
the Bills of Right is to protect every individual from being violated. The USA Patriot Act of 2001
violated fourth amendment. Fourth Amendment, protects people from unreasonable searches and
seizures by the government. The Fourth Amendment, however, is not a guarantee against all searches

Analyse the Methods Used by One Single Party State Ruler...
Josef Stalin is known throughout Russia for his legendry use of terror, political manipulation and
demanding policies who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals. However, the question of the
legitimacy of his position as leader of the Bolshevik party still remains. Following the death of Lenin
in 1924, a power vacuum developed within the Bolshevik party and it was clear that a leadership race
between candidates had begun. Stalin was able to rise above men like Trotsky, Kamenev and Zinoviev
to launch into new economic policies, collectivisation and industrialisation. The main key to Stalin s
success in gaining power after Lenin s death was held in his alignment with the former hero of Russia,
as well as his ability to plan, manipulate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He used this information to choose certain people to fill key positions who wouldn t oppose his
policies. It created a solid mass of Stalin followers within the Bolshevik party who owed their posts to
Stalin and dared not oppose him. These Stalinists became crucial sources of support during the mass
purges of the party in later years. He had control over 700 party officials and the secret police, a
necessary tool to gain control over the majority of the Bolshevik party and the purges that would later
follow. Through this manipulation of elements within the communist party and even before Lenin s
death, Stalin built up vast local and national bases of support. With this in mind, he could then use his
power and influence to cut out any opposition. The power vacuum created by Lenin s death gave rise
for many of Stalin s opposition to challenge his bid for power and leadership of the communist party.
Leading up to Lenin s death, Trotsky and Stalin recognised they were the two main contenders to take
over the position as leader of the Bolshevik party. Stalin started a campaign to discredit the ideological
errors of his main rival for power. He rallied Kamenev and Zinoviev to isolate Trotsky, emphasising
his Jewish background and disloyalty to the party as an ex Menshevik member. Trotsky s lack of
devotion to the memory of Lenin further fuelled this anti Trotsky movement within the party. Stalin

The Government of Lao PDR and Ethnic Minorities
Since the end of the Cold War, the government of Lao PDR (GoL) promoted internal resettlement of
indigenous ethnic minorities from remote highlands to lowland areas and along roads as an effort to
make the delivery of government services such as health care and education more cost efficient.
Though the government considers resettlement a voluntary choice on the part of the village, the
government implements incentives for villages to resettle such as healthcare and disincentives for
villages to remain in the highland such as destruction of agriculture as an attempt to encourage
resettlement. But, internal resettlement had a devastating impact on the health of the relocated
minorities and the healthcare promised by the government was inadequate and in some places
nonexistent. To promote rural development, the Lao PDR government incentivized the resettlement of
ethnic minorities from the mountainous highlands to the lowlands as a way of improving the minority
s access to health care, but suppressed immune systems suppressed from malnutrition and exposure to
malaria ultimately increased mortality among those who resettled.
As a strategy for rural development, the government of Lao PDR encouraged the resettlement of
villages with the idea that the resettlement would allow the government to provide services more cost
effectively than traveling to the mountainous communities as had been done in the past. Post Cold
War, rural Lao PDR where the ethnic minorities resided was

The Terror Of Terror And Violence
In July of 2014, ISIS blew up a Muslim shrine as an act of terror and violence. Again they attempted
to terrorize the local people of Iraq when they blew up another ancient mosque later the same month.
The ISIS terrorist group is an extremist Muslim organization that is capitalizing off the fear and
confusion of the Syrian Civil War. For the past five years, ISIS has waged war on the Syrian
government as well as any other group that does not conform to their extreme ways of life. Their
tactics for control are aggressive and extreme; public beheading, fear mongering, and destruction of
local historical and religious sites. The destruction of these sites is done in an iconoclastic manor; yet,

ISIS is known for their hatred of religious and ethnic groups that do not conform to their extreme
ways. Christian and the Sunni Muslims are the two main targets for the ISIS terror attacks. Their
attacks have no limits. In Beirut, a fifth century Roman Catholic monastery was destroyed by ISIS
while in Mosul the suspected tomb of Jonah the prophet was blown up (). Also in Mosul, a mosque
and shrine devoted to Prophet Jirjis was also blown up as an act of terror. It s clear that ISIS has no
specific target other than those that disagree with their platform and extreme views. They use the
destruction of images as an attempt to scare locals into subjecting to their laws. ISIS recognizes the
power that these images hold on people and they are trying to exploit that. Similarly, the government
of France and Russia used images and their powers to spread propaganda. While ISIS uses the images
of destruction and violence more so than Russia and France, the similarities can be seen in the effort to
control the common people. What makes this form of iconoclasm so different is that it deviates from
the normal iconoclasm that took place early in religious history. Early forms of iconoclasm destroyed
images because of the fear and power that they have and create. As Freedberg states, It [iconoclasm]

Walt Disney World. The Ganachery did not disappoint! For most people, unless you know of some
little artisan confectionery, the best chocolates you can get your hands on are Godiva. There is an
excitement and ritual to opening that gleaming golden box and breathing in that smell. Amplify the
smell, the taste, the creaminess by 10 fold; THEN you have the Ganachery chocolates!
You can find the shop kitty corner from Jock Lindsey s, just past the turn off for Raglan Road. When
we arrived there was only another couple in line ahead of us and we were allowed inside after only a
minute or two. They were limiting the number of people who could shop at one time because the
footprint of the floor is incredibly tiny. If I recall they only wanted 7 or 8 customers to be inside at one
time. I didn t feel that the short wait was too much to ask, even though some people stomped off after
only being in line 30 seconds or so. They were offering free sea salt caramel samples while we waited
so who was I to complain!?
When I first walked in the first thing that I noticed was the lighting... it s terrible for taking photos, lol,
so let me apologize right now for the terrible quality of some of

Theodore Roosevelt s the Threat of Japan
Document: Theodore Roosevelt: The Threat of Japan, 1909 [At Mt. Holyoke]
Introduction:
For my history assignment, I chose the document Theodore Roosevelt s The Threat of Japan . After
the Meiji Restoration in 1868, modernization took place, bringing Japan to the height of power
equivalent to a western power after defeating both China and Russia. United States was maintaining
its policy of isolationism but was slowly transitioning to self interest imperialism, keeping control
over countries with economic benefit such as open door policy with China. A summary of this article
would be Roosevelt s changing ideas of how US should change their foreign policy with regard to the
dynamic change in the balance of world powers in 1909. My ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Paragraph 3: Japan s immigration problems
Since the opening of Japan from its self imposed seclusion policy in 1854, scholars have studied
aboard to acquire Western teachings. The immigration problem manifested once Japanese started
immigrating to Hawaii, Canada and US motivated by economic gains and evasion of military services.
In the year 1900 alone, 12000 Japanese entered United States and by 1910 the population trebled to a
total of 72,517. Although this bought a solution to their demand of cheap labour, another set of
problems arise in the form of economic, racial and anti Japanese agitation. Examples included would
be San Francisco School Board implemented segregation of education school between Japanese and
American children, and California legislature passing offensive legislation aiming at Japanese .
This background knowledge is coherent in identifying the social problems such as a race problem and
contest is forecasted if nothing is done to keep them out. He understands that his people will not
permit the Japanese to come in as citizens and will not tolerate their presences. US experienced
widespread anti Japanese sentiments and this is supported from evidence that Roosevelt received
insults such as an unpatriotic President, who united with aliens to break down the civilization of his
own countrymen by San Francisco Chronicle when he decided to back Japan up against

The Rebirth Of Literature By Virginia Woolf
The Rebirth of Literature Beautiful, complex, incisive.... One of the most moving, revolutionary
artworks of the twentieth century (Michael Cunningham) Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf is not
only a book that entertains millions, like Stephanie Meyer s Twilight, J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter and
the Philosopher s Stone, or E. L. James s Fifty Shades of Grey, but it is a work of literature that
revolutionized the art of writing, which continues to influence people s philosophies, beliefs, and
views on life even roughly after a century since its publication. In fact, music, fashion, food, films,
books, clothes, and paintings are a few aspects of art all impacted immensely by Mrs. Dalloway, a
story highlighting a mere day in a woman s life as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, the meadow denotes Septimus s joy prior to the war and the beautiful and honorable
decision he took to fight for his country, meanwhile the dull sky exemplifies his unstable and muddled
mind after enduring the traumatic events of combat. Not to mention, the large, red spot symbolizes the
blazing world he now views, and the long paint streaks represent the planes that Septimus observed
soar and fill the sky during the war. All in all, Champagne displays how a man who should feel
honored for being so brave for fighting for his country, can also be engulfed with sorrow at the same
time. Disturbia, a pop song sung by Rhianna, connects the theme of PTSD in the novel with
contemporary art and postmodern society. For example, the lyrics What s wrong with me? Why do I
feel like this? I m going crazy now... demonstrate the feeling and thoughts of confusion and stress a
person with PTSD undergoes, exactly like the symptoms Septimus is displaying daily: Suffering
forever...he moaned, putting from him with a wave of his hand that external suffering, that external
loneliness (25). Additionally, the lyrics, It s a thief in the night. To come and grab you. It can creep up
inside you. And consume you. A disease of the mind. It can control you. Watch out, you might just go
under. Your train of thought will be altered is emphasizing how PTSD, is taking away your ability to
live a normal life and how it overtakes

A Study On Xyz University
Introduction
Problem
XYZ University is facing a problem in that classes that are one day a week are not providing enough
time in class for students. Student satisfaction and retention is low due to the difficulties of 1 night a
week in an eight week session . This makes it hard for students to retain the information they learn in
one week. Meeting only 8 times for an entire class does not help a student learn the material
Solution
Xyz should change the one a week class schedule and expand classes into meeting two days a week.
This will give students more time in class and more one on on time with the teacher. Being in class
twice a week will increase the students learning and do better in school. This can also give the student
a chance to ask the teacher for help if he did not learn the material the first day on the week.
Problem Analysis
Research
A study on XYZ University s website asked students how often they would prefer to have class and
when they wanted to go to class. Majority of the students chose to take class two times a week which
came to a total of 67% of the students. Only a 29.8% chose to go one day a week, 29.8% for three
days a week, and 23 percent for more than three days a week.
Student Satisfaction and Retention Student s satisfaction is low because of the difficulty of having
class one day a week in an eight week session. Students would be more satisfied with having class
twice a week because then they would have more time to learn the

Research Paper On Singapore Maid
Singapore maid problems you probably have them when you employ a maid in Singapore via a
Singapore maid services agency.
As a side note, please note that Singapore maids are also known as Singapore domestic helpers, au
pair, foreign domestic workers, caregivers, ah mahs , or nannies. Some even take them as Singapore
babysitters! The more experienced maids are generally known as Singapore transfer maids.
Herein lies the paradox in Singapore maid employment: you are frustrated when you don t have a
maid, and you are just as frustrated when you have a maid.
Many Singapore maid problems stem from miscommunication or misunderstanding. This is especially
so if your Singapore domestic helper is weak in English (more so for Indonesian maids than Filipino
maids) or has difficulty in understanding what you want her to do. This can happen for both new or
Singapore transfer maids. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is despite your efforts in screening the Singapore maid or having a professional Singapore maid
services agency shortlist the girl.
In Singapore maid employment, the maid may also have a change of heart about working with you,
for whatever reasons. However, she doesn t know what to say to you, and as such, she goes on to spoil
the show , so to speak, so that you will fire her. In that case, you are the one who doesn t want her, and
not the other way round.
Singapore maid problems can also arise from the Singapore maid getting sick or worse, getting
pregnant. Some of them may even run away for whatever reasons. The list can go on and on.
So, how can you deal with these problems? Quite frankly, I don t have the perfect solution. However,
here are a few points for your consideration. They are philosophical, and it is okay if you don t agree
with them.
Let s start off with a simple understanding about life and draw a parallel with Singapore maid

The Influence Of Sonnets
Similar to people in each period, literature is defined by its era. Likewise, critical literary periods
influence motifs such as love and therefore are expressed differently over centuries. Within literature,
love is expressed differently in the sixteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. This is evident in
Since brass, nor stone, nor boundless sea by William Shakespeare,John Fletcher s, Take oh ,take those
lips away written in the Renaissance of the Elizabethan period, Life in A Love by Robert Browning,
Thomas Hardy s Broken Appointment from the Romantic period and To My Valentine by Ogden Nash
and Langston Hughes Love Again Blues written in the Modern period . Each poem of different
periods succumb to exterior influences in society and therefore projects love in distinct ways. The ...

Sonnets increasing popularity is evident in the Renaissance through Shakespeare s works. However,
Shakespeare, like many other poets, imitates the literary pieces of famous poets of the time such as
Spenser, who has a sonnet format with his name (Nature Poems). Spenser who found inspiration in the
Renaissance period before the Elizabethan period greatly appreciated the works of Petrarch, a poet
who frequently utilizes comparisons to nature (Nature Poems). Therefore, due to Spenser s high
influence in literary society, Shakespeare also writes many sonnets with an underlying theme of
nature. In Shakespeare s Since brass, nor stone, nor boundless sea frequent use of nature and its
aspects depict love in the poem. Shakespeare depicts love as a fragile item. Shakespeare uses a
metaphor of a flower when his persona states, Whose action is no stronger than a flower? (4). With the
comparison of a flower to love, Shakespeare compares the fragility of love to a flower s weakness to
external forces in nature. Similar to the metaphor of the flower, Shakespeare also compares love to
other frail items in nature such as summer s

Bunker Mexico
What is also intriguing about Bunker s study of Mexico is that the changes that were being accepted
by the Mexican population were very often complete contradictions to what was considered
traditionally Mexican. Not only does this stand in complete opposition to what was seen in Karush s
Argentina, but in Mexico the constant reworking of consumer goods and the texts used to sell them...
generated the cultural meaning that provided an identity for both the self and the world around them.
(Bunker 97) Once again, Mexico and Argentina could not be any different when seen through the lens
of Consumer Culture and Culture of Class. The strict devotion of the government in Argentina to keep

Each author in his or her own way masterfully employs images in order to better support their overall
claims. Within her text, Workers Go Shopping, Milanesio expertly employs multiple photos of
Argentinians moving about their daily lives to illustrate how the importation of western culture so
greatly affected the emerging middle, and working class consumers. This gives great backing to her
thesis of how the emerging working class so greatly affected the transformation of Argentina into a
modern 20th century nation. Photos of the Argentinian people enjoying modern luxuries like dance
halls and vacations to the beach, are accompanied by advertisements from magazines and street
billboards which further illuminate the consumer culture which had engulfed the nation by mid
century. Milanesio also employs images to illustrate how the importation of western culture also
propagated gender roles for not only women, but men as well. Documents taken directly from
Argentinian media of the day can be seen encouraging women to aspire for beauty, but also
submissiveness. The propagation of the housewife myth, visible here in the Argentinian media, was a
very prevalent force in the society of the United States at this time and can be assumed to have been
heavily influenced by their neighbors to the north. Ads directed to women for sewing machines and
kitchen appliances were mirrored by ones pointed to men which embedded ideals of masculinity and
hard work. These advertisements not only encouraged an overall image of what Argentinian people
should aspire to, but also expanded the consumer market, thereby promoting consumerism. These
photographs of Argentinians enjoying the newfound luxuries of modernity and consumer society gives
great backing to Milanesio s thesis of how the

Low Gas Prices
Last year, gas prices decreased under two dollars, for the first time in nearly seven years. Drivers
enjoyed gas prices as low as 1.89 per gallon. Lower gas prices help people commute, especially those
who are poor. When gas prices are low minorities spend less of their income on basic needs .
However, many Americans question whether gas prices should continue to decrease or be kept at a
price higher than what s been seen recently. When gas prices decrease, it threatens the natural gas
industry, consequently laying off workers. While higher gas prices might decrease jobs in the oil
industry, ultimately, when gas remains low it makes it affordable to the lower class and more money is
kept in citizens pockets. The decline of gas prices, in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it may be true, it s not necessarily the case. With lower gas prices, the economy is digging
itself out of the hole dug by Bush and his cronies. The deficit is going down. Inflation isn t a problem
and unemployment is gradually decreasing (Cheap Gas Prices: Good or Bad?). The U.S. economy can
increase by a lot when gas prices are lower. Lower oil prices could be better for the world economy
for the same reasons that it s good for U.S. GDP growth: Cheaper energy makes it easier to make more
stuff (What s So Bad About Low Gas Prices). It took about nine months for the average, which was
$2.84 per gallon last June, to hit $1.86 last week (Evan Jones). People can spend more of their money
on common good rather than most of it on gas for their transportation. Critics of lower gas prices
argue that with higher gas price it can increase the price of imported food (The Pros Cons of Higher
Gas Prices). If what I recommended earlier, U.S. economy make more money. With lower gas prices,
the government can earn more money from all the consumer goods, and other kinds of

Moving on to the time period of this document this document was written March 1, 1789 a couple
months before the storming of the Bastille. Thus, at this time in history there was a significant amount
of commotion arising from the people of the Third Estate. The people of the Third Estate were trying
to voice their opinions on the oppressive political and economic situations occurring at this time in
France in order to try and bring about a reform. These oppressive political and economic situations
that the Third Estate were trying to reform included things such as the king heavily taxing only the
Third Estate, who already did not even have the finances to survive let alone pay these high taxes.
Another example is the fact that the Third Estate did not have equal representatives in the political
society to represent their wants and demands in comparison to the First and Second Estates, which can

Food Companies And Its Effects On The Human Body
Thanks to current technologies, it seems that healthy foods are easily within reach. Multiple food
companies now offer products that encourage a nutritious diet, such as dairy products with reduced fat

consumers believe. For example, foods with added or reduced nutritional qualities, such as protein
enriched and/or all natural are highly processed products causing more damage than benefit to the
human body. Hence why, marketing ploys that certain food companies use, are the most harmful kind
of American bullshit since they create major misconceptions of what is and what is not healthy foods.

  • 2. Shakespeare As A Modern Comedy William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and actor. He is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world s pre eminent dramatist. He is often called England s national poet and the Bard of Avon. Shakespeare has written many plays during his time. He wrote poems, tragedies, and of course some of his most known plays are comedies. What made Shakespeare so popular? Why are his comedies so well known? How did his way of writing comedies form the way others wrote and continue to write in the years after him? These are some questions many educators and students want to understand while studying Shakespeare. Focusing on his writing within his most popular comedies, Shakespeare has formed literature into what it is today. When the first collected edition of Shakespeare s plays, the First Folio, was published in 1623, its contents page divided them into three categories: comedies, histories and, tragedies. The list of comedies included Measure for Measure and The Merchant of Venice, plays that modern audiences and readers have not found particularly funny. Also included were two late plays, The Tempest and The Winter s Tale, that critics often now classify as romances (Mullan). If we ask ourselves what these four plays have in common with those such as As You Like It or Twelfth Night; which we are used to calling comedies, the answer gives us a clue to the meaning of comedy for many of Shakespeare s educated contemporaries. All of them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Kris Gastelum Case Study The UFC travels to Long Island, New York on Saturday for a card headlined by a fighter who is ready risk it all for a win in his native state a win that he has chased for quite some time. That fighter, No. 5 ranked middleweight and former title holder Chris Weidman, will face rising star and No. 8 ranked middleweight Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of the evening. Weidman has lost three straight fights, including a title defense against Luke Rockhold and loses to Yoel Romero and most recently Gegard Mousasi in April. He hasn t won a fight since May 2015, and his loss to Mousasi was as confusing to the fans as it was to him. After absorbing consecutive knees to the head that were initially declared illegal by the referee Dan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Michael Bisping stepped in on two weeks notice and shockingly won the title that Weidman was trying to get back. If Weidman wants to get back to his winning ways, he ll have to be at the top of his game against a young and hungry lion. Gastelum looks like he has finally found a home in the middleweight division after struggling to make weight for fights in the welterweight division. In his last bout, he looked impressive against Belfort, finishing him in the first round and winning Performance of the Night honors. However, the fight was later overturned due to a positive marijuana test. Prior to the Belfort fight, Gastelum dominated Tim Kennedy at UFC 206 with a third round KO, cementing his place in the division. Gastelum, 25 years old, showed tremendous hand speed and the ability to take a punch in both fights, making him a far more dangerous fighter than he s often given credit for. Now fighting at a more comfortable weight, he has shown speed and athleticism that gives him the potential to wreak havoc in the 185 pound division. Gastelum s only losses in the UFC have come by split decision to welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and No. 6 ranked welterweight Neil Magny. Aside Kennedy, he has key victories over Uriah Hall, Johny Hendricks, Nate Marquardt and Jake Ellenberger. A win over Weidman could catapult Gastelum up the middleweight rankings, while a win for Weidman could potentially land him back into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Evaluate The Labeling Theory The labeling theory is society using terms to describe or classify a class or group of people. The people s self identify and behavior can be impacted and influenced by the words that are used. This leads to stereotyping and the concept of self fulfilling prophecy as well, because people will believe that they can only live to be what society has told them they can be. People should not be labelled as criminal or violent before they even portray the behavior. It is not fair to them and the future they may or may not have. Telling a person that they prone to violent and criminal behavior will immediately change the views that they have on themselves. They will automatically believe that the second they fail at a task or fall short of their life goals, it was because they were not meant for them. Not only are the labels destroying the person s reputation with outside people, the labels are destroying their mentality as well. The predictions are putting them in a box before they are given a chance to develop the said criminal behavior. It does not allow the person to grow into a fully ... Samsung has been able to position the market in such a way that it has marketed the brand name strategically. It has been named the top rising brand by Interbrand and is the 9th most valuable brand valued nearly $33 billion (Interbrand, 2012). Weaknesses The Company might be able to market the product nicely or it might have been able to get a large market share but there are certain weaknesses which the company has. Some of them are listed below. Patent infringement. Samsung has a loose policy regarding the infringement of patents. The company s patents were not done through a proper channel, thus ending up infringing Apple s and other firms patents (Wikipedia, 2012). This outcome damaged Samsung s reputation and suffered losses. Low profit margin. Samsung Electronics is the largest technology business in the world in terms of revenue. But its low profit margin was the result of low cost of their product and a price cut they had to endure (Wikipedia, 2012). Focus on too many products. This point could be the strength as well as the weakness. Samsung Electronic serves many industries with many different products in them. They lost their focus because there were competing in too many products and too many industries, which was their disadvantage over their competitors (Shaughnessy, 2013). • 6. Character Analysis Of Sredni Vashtar Sredni Vashtar Characterization Essay The popularity of ferrets has skyrocketed over time, and they have quickly become one of the most top ten popular pets to have. However; unlike cats in ancient Egypt, they were never worshipped. But this is not the case with the main character of Sredni Vashtar, Conradin. Diverse characters are important when it comes to writing a story. The main character of the story might be referred to as a round or dynamic character. A round character is realistic and is changed in some way by the end of the story. For example, Lestat de Lioncourt in the novel Interview with the Vampire. Lestat, at first, had one goal of just doing whatever he pleased. By the end of the novel, Lestat had changed to see things the way that his friend, Louis, did. A dynamic character is one who is well developed and changes a lot throughout the whole story. And example of a dynamic character is Louis de Pointe du Lac, who is also a main character in the novel Interview with the Vampire. Louis was constantly changing because of the events that he had to go through. Without supporting characters, the development of the main characters, or even of the story, might not make sense. The supporting characters are referred to as a flat or a static character. A flat character is a recognizable character type who might not be fully developed, but is still useful and relevant to the story. For example, Estelle and Celeste, who are in Interview with the Vampire as well. Estelle and Celeste did not have major roles in the novel, in fact they hardly ever spoke, but they were still useful because of their role in the very important group of vampires. Finally, a static character is one who does not change during the story. He would still be very important to the story, he would have no personal growth. An example of a this would be Armand, another vampire in the novel Interview with the Vampire. This vampire was important to the story because he impacted the main character, Louis. But, not matter what, Armand s feelings and morals never drastically changed. In the short story, Sredni Vashtar by Saki, one of the main characters, Conradin, would be considered as a round character. Like Lestat, Conradin s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What may sound like a dream now could possibly be the future for our families. A world where our children let their college degrees wither away while they work a minimum wage job because that was all that was hiring. A world where the American economy drives into the ground because we are drowning in national debt faster than anyone can bail the water out. Once every individual is given a college education, the job search becomes more vigorous and will thus prohibit many from getting a job. The amount of students that will not be able to use their college degree in the real world, provided if college is free, is unfathomable. Those lucky enough to graduate face another hurdle: 44 percent of recent college graduates occupy jobs which do not require a college degree. Taken together, these numbers suggest that only one third of college enrollees emerge from the system with both a degree and a relevant job (Cooper). Moreover, Cooper explains that students will have limited job opportunities if there is too much competition in their desired field. Consequently, it now becomes a rarity for a student to pursue and achieve the exact career of which they desire when the competition escalates dramatically. Not every person can be a doctor, not because they do not have the capability, but because America does not need that many doctors. If all colleges and universities were free, the amount of people attending would significantly increase, causing the already intense career competition to become notably more competitive as well as increasingly more difficult. Branching off from the concept of over crowding the playing field, the increase in college diplomas would significantly decrease their value. Well in the novel Flesh and Blood So Cheap: The Triangle Fire And Its Legacy by Albert Marrin shows how the catastrophe led by a flame that grew massive burning the triangle shirtwaist factory without use of the extinguisher, it also shows that the owners don t tolerate safety standards or use them. Albert Marrin uses two types of evidence, one being implicit and the other being explicit, both of them shows how the evidence can be inferred or just stated directly out of the text. Additionally, using implicit, we can infer how the factory is taking safety standards as careless goal. In the text, it states that Those who reached the ninth floor stairway door found it locked. with this evidence we can infer using implicit that it implies a major concern on the people leaving them with no way to escape except to die. It was introduced for a variety of different reasons including a wartime concern for preserving grain for food rather than for brewing and distilling. There were also feelings against the German Americans, who were responsible for brewing and distilling, at a time when America was at war against Germany which also let the Anti Saloon league influence the general public before the main objectors, the men, returned home. Nevertheless, this would not stop the large population of German Americans buying the alcohol along with many other Americans who had come to America from other countries. An additional consideration that led people in the belief that prohibition would succeed was the cost of alcohol so people may have used the law as an opportunity to give up alcohol without seeming odd to others. Moreover, this problem would not prevent wealthy Americans from trying to purchase alcohol because they had the money to do it without sending their family into the downwards spiral of poverty. Also, to begin with the level of enforcement for the law was so high that even if people did not support the law, the prohibition commissioners could have worked hard to dispose of alcohol whilst gathering support. However, this hard work soon ended when the commissioners, along with the police, politicians, magistrates, party officials and clerks, began to accept bribes from gangsters and the owners of speakeasies to ignore the activities that were taking place around them. • 11. Analysis Of The Story Going Back Home As people journey through life, they discover many qualities they hold that make them unique and interesting. These qualities differentiate them from others, and help form their identity. In the stories we have read in class, such as Going Back Home , written by Toyomi Igus and Michele Wood, Nei Um Lung, Ma? by May Yee, and The Jade Peony by Wayson Choy, the characters hobbies, beliefs, and family roots make them unique and interesting. Due to many factors, including different experiences in life, an individual develops many aspects in their identity that are different from others. Hobbies, which are adopted and changed throughout one s life, express who an individual is. There are many different reasons as to why people adopt hobbies. It may be a way to pass the time, to express their likes and dislikes, or a way for them to channel their emotions. In the story Going Back Home , the narrator explains how the painter, Michelle Wood, expressed her life and her ancestors lives through her art. • 12. Article Titled Personal Critical Reaction to the Case for... Part 1 Personal Critical Reaction Conspiracy to commit murder is one of the most difficult things to prove without a reasonable doubt and because the prosecution was aware that the case for murder against the former Sheriff, Dorsey was based upon a conspiracy charge the course of action for the prosecution was relatively clear. They had to somehow convince a jury that Dorsey had recruited the four other men, Patrick Cuffy, Paul Skyers, Melvin Walker and David Ramsey with the express intent of killing Derwin Brown. The reason that these types of murder charges are fundamentally difficult to prosecute lies in the fact that if the recruiter/master mind behind the event is ultimately successful on the first attempt to obtain an assassin, there rarely anyone, other than the actual killer(s) to testify that the mastermind in fact ordered and also likely made some sort of compensation for the act on the part of the assassin(s). In this case the prosecution proved to this jury using the testimony of, Patrick Cuffy, Paul Skyers, two of the admitted assassins, on immunity deals to provide evidence against Dorsey. The ethical dilemma is then the immunity deals offered to Cuffy and Skyers. The dilemma is fascinating as these sorts of immunity deals, in the case of murder are relatively rare, as most people feel that the actual doer of the crime, is as guilty or more guilty than the mastermind behind it, as that individual(s) has the ultimate decision making as to whether the crime ... • 13. Dr. King s Letter From Birmingham Jail Dr. King Lays the Clergymen s Anxiety to Rest Dr. Martin Luther King addressed many topics in, Letter from Birmingham Jail . He answered all the issues that were aimed towards him in a very skillful and well thought out manner. These issues came from, A Call For Unity , which was a letter that was published by eight local clergymen expressing their feelings about what Dr. King was doing. One concern in particular that King did an outstanding job of confronting was that of the clergymen s anxiety about him breaking the law. King addresses the question of, How can you advocate breaking some laws and obeying others? by clarifying that there are just and unjust laws. He also goes on to explain the difference between the two, the effect of unjust laws on the people that they are aimed towards, as well as examples of such laws. Furthermore, he explains why they should be broken and gives examples of when they ve been broken in the past with the usage of civil disobedience. First, Dr. King clears up any idea that he s just someone who has broken the law for no reason. He does this by saying; I would be the first to advocate obeying just laws. One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. (Para 15) This statement tells us that Dr. King is simply adhering to his moral responsibility by doing as he s supposed to. He knows that following a law that is not fair makes no sense, and it ... It was George W. Bush s response to the terrorist attack that took place in September 11, 2001 in New York and Pentagon. The Law ensured security and safety for the citizens but it also violated individual right. The law took a lot of criticism because it violated constitutional right, and it created problems between individual right perspective and the public order advocates. It created a solid mass of Stalin followers within the Bolshevik party who owed their posts to Stalin and dared not oppose him. These Stalinists became crucial sources of support during the mass purges of the party in later years. He had control over 700 party officials and the secret police, a necessary tool to gain control over the majority of the Bolshevik party and the purges that would later follow. Through this manipulation of elements within the communist party and even before Lenin s death, Stalin built up vast local and national bases of support. With this in mind, he could then use his power and influence to cut out any opposition. The power vacuum created by Lenin s death gave rise for many of Stalin s opposition to challenge his bid for power and leadership of the communist party. Leading up to Lenin s death, Trotsky and Stalin recognised they were the two main contenders to take over the position as leader of the Bolshevik party. Stalin started a campaign to discredit the ideological errors of his main rival for power. • 18. The Government of Lao PDR and Ethnic Minorities Since the end of the Cold War, the government of Lao PDR (GoL) promoted internal resettlement of indigenous ethnic minorities from remote highlands to lowland areas and along roads as an effort to make the delivery of government services such as health care and education more cost efficient. Though the government considers resettlement a voluntary choice on the part of the village, the government implements incentives for villages to resettle such as healthcare and disincentives for villages to remain in the highland such as destruction of agriculture as an attempt to encourage resettlement. But, internal resettlement had a devastating impact on the health of the relocated minorities and the healthcare promised by the government was inadequate and in some places nonexistent. To promote rural development, the Lao PDR government incentivized the resettlement of ethnic minorities from the mountainous highlands to the lowlands as a way of improving the minority s access to health care, but suppressed immune systems suppressed from malnutrition and exposure to malaria ultimately increased mortality among those who resettled. As a strategy for rural development, the government of Lao PDR encouraged the resettlement of villages with the idea that the resettlement would allow the government to provide services more cost effectively than traveling to the mountainous communities as had been done in the past. For the past five years, ISIS has waged war on the Syrian government as well as any other group that does not conform to their extreme ways of life. ISIS is known for their hatred of religious and ethnic groups that do not conform to their extreme ways. Christian and the Sunni Muslims are the two main targets for the ISIS terror attacks. Also in Mosul, a mosque and shrine devoted to Prophet Jirjis was also blown up as an act of terror. It s clear that ISIS has no specific target other than those that disagree with their platform and extreme views. They use the destruction of images as an attempt to scare locals into subjecting to their laws. ISIS recognizes the power that these images hold on people and they are trying to exploit that. Similarly, the government of France and Russia used images and their powers to spread propaganda. While ISIS uses the images of destruction and violence more so than Russia and France, the similarities can be seen in the effort to control the common people. What makes this form of iconoclasm so different is that it deviates from the normal iconoclasm that took place early in religious history. Disney Springs At Jock Lindsey Yesterday evening we went over to Disney Springs for dinner at Jock Lindsey s, but first we wanted to swing by the new Ganachery Chocolate Shoppe that had just opened a couple days before. We love good chocolate, so we had high hopes for this newest addition to the list of high end foodie shops at Walt Disney World. The Ganachery did not disappoint! For most people, unless you know of some little artisan confectionery, the best chocolates you can get your hands on are Godiva. There is an excitement and ritual to opening that gleaming golden box and breathing in that smell. Amplify the smell, the taste, the creaminess by 10 fold; THEN you have the Ganachery chocolates! When we arrived there was only another couple in line ahead of us and we were allowed inside after only a minute or two. They were limiting the number of people who could shop at one time because the footprint of the floor is incredibly tiny. If I recall they only wanted 7 or 8 customers to be inside at one time. I didn t feel that the short wait was too much to ask, even though some people stomped off after only being in line 30 seconds or so. United States was maintaining its policy of isolationism but was slowly transitioning to self interest imperialism, keeping control over countries with economic benefit such as open door policy with China. Student satisfaction and retention is low due to the difficulties of 1 night a week in an eight week session . This makes it hard for students to retain the information they learn in one week. Meeting only 8 times for an entire class does not help a student learn the material Solution Xyz should change the one a week class schedule and expand classes into meeting two days a week. This will give students more time in class and more one on on time with the teacher. Being in class twice a week will increase the students learning and do better in school. This can also give the student a chance to ask the teacher for help if he did not learn the material the first day on the week. Within her text, Workers Go Shopping, Milanesio expertly employs multiple photos of Argentinians moving about their daily lives to illustrate how the importation of western culture so greatly affected the emerging middle, and working class consumers. This gives great backing to her thesis of how the emerging working class so greatly affected the transformation of Argentina into a modern 20th century nation. Photos of the Argentinian people enjoying modern luxuries like dance halls and vacations to the beach, are accompanied by advertisements from magazines and street billboards which further illuminate the consumer culture which had engulfed the nation by mid century. Milanesio also employs images to illustrate how the importation of western culture also propagated gender roles for not only women, but men as well. Documents taken directly from Argentinian media of the day can be seen encouraging women to aspire for beauty, but also submissiveness. The propagation of the housewife myth, visible here in the Argentinian media, was a very prevalent force in the society of the United States at this time and can be assumed to have been heavily influenced by their neighbors to the north.
