Notes On Green Fluorescent Proteins
1. Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) GFP is a widely used tool in the field of Molecular biology and
Cell biology. It involves emission of fluorescence under Ultra Violet light which allows for direct
investigation into the inner working of cells. Green Fluorescent Protein was first isolated from the
jelly fish Aequorea victoria by Osamu Shimomura (Shimomura et al., 1962). Since its discovery, it has
become useful in the field of science. The GFP chromophore is formed from tri peptide in the primary
structure of GFP. Its fluorescence is turned on when exposed to molecular oxygen. The gene of GFP
has been introduced into many bacteria, yeast, fungi, plants and humans (Amsterdam, A. et al., 1996)
and it is still gaining rapid ground in the field of biological science.
2. Structure of the Green Fluorescent Protein
The GFP is composed of two structures; a barrel beta structure consisting of 11 beta strands and an
alpha helix containing the covalently bonded chromophore 4 p (hydroxybenzylidene) imidazolidin 5
one. The chromophore is in the centre of the barrel beta structure (Tsien, 1998). The size of the beta
structure is 42Å long and 24Å in diameter. Due to its length and width it creates a beta like structure
which is common in the GFP family (Yang, 1996). The chromophore is made from a tri peptide Ser65
Tyr66 Gly67. To form its structure GFP first folds into a nearly native conformation, then the
imidazolinoneis is formed by nucleophilic attack of the amide of Gly67 on the

Faint Hints Of Tranquility Analysis
The two short stories that I ve enjoyed the most have been Faint Hints of Tranquility by Shibli and the
excerpt from Midnight in Mexico by Corchado. Although these stories are fiction they come across as
intensely genuine. The sincerity in the tone of the authors brought me into the setting. Both authors
drew immensely from their own experiences, Corchado being a journalist documenting the cartels in
mexico, just like his protagonist. As well as Shibli living in palestine with her journalist card being the
only thing getting her through checkpoints. It would seem that biographically speaking, both of these
authors have lived the lives they portray in these stories. Which makes them all the more engaging and
sympathetic. Both pieces have protagonists

Death And The Black Death
Imagine peering out your window on a hot summer day. Gazing up at the sky and seeing an eye
scorching, glorious sunset. Then you see the blood and oozing scabs covering 3 out of every 10 of all
your friends and family member bodies. What would you do if this monstrous disease called The
Black Death was taking over your village? Well, this very tragic event in history did, in fact,
happen. The Black Death started to take over the world around 1347 and originated in China. It tested
the villager s emotions and abilities to do what s right in hard times. The disease pulled on their tender
heartstring and ripped them apart. The Muslim and Christian religious reactions to this tragic situation
were more different than alike. Some people were being helpful and generous to the sick, while others
were taking advantage of the dying people. What would you do if this monstrous disease called The
Black Death was taking over your village? During The Black Death, the Christian and Muslim
religious reactions were more different than alike. The author of a primary source written in 1348
called Cronaca Senese (3A) is named Agnolo di Tura (The Fat). The author states, Father abandoned
child, wife, husband, one brother another . This quote is one representation of how the Christians
reacted to the black death. Christians left there friends and even family members in the dust.
Christians were more worried about surviving themselves and taking advantage of the people dying
than they were

The Problem Of World Hunger
Growing up, the commercials of starving children in Africa in need of food because of rampant
starvation and the pervasive threat of death have been streaming on various media. World Hunger is
one of the main problems that a large portion of the global population faces today. Hunger varies with
severity but in this case it is the want of food in a third world country. World hunger is a problem that
has existed for much of our known history; it has faded away from central concerns because it is
barely brought up in everyday conversations. World hunger has many aggravating factors and
principal causes, such as insufficient economic systems, misinformation, climate changes, etc. But the
main debilitating factor is poverty as poverty always has led to people going without regular meals
because they cannot afford to eat. There are vast quantities of people in third world nations and
developing countries that are so impoverished that are in desperate need for food. Whether a country
is rich or poor, there are always tremendous numbers of people dealing with poverty and hunger.
Perhaps most disheartening is the cruel reality that most of the victims are young children. Hunger is a
very serious issue that cannot easily be remedied.
As a matter of fact, people all over the world mainly concentrated in developing countries die because
of hunger and starvation on a daily basis. With the growth of population, the number of hungry people
also increases at a disproportionate rate.

Essay On Quinceañera Tradition
The conversion from childhood to womanhood is an extremely significant event in practically any
culture. This event is known as a Quinceañera, also called fiesta de quince años, fiesta de quinceañera,
quince años, quinceañero or commonly known as quince which is consisted of a celebration of a girl s
fifteenth birthday with cultural roots in Latin America but celebrated all over America. Nonetheless,
Hispanics, recognize this occasion by doing the celebration of a Quinceañera. The Quinceañera
tradition is believed to have initiated several years ago when the Spanish conquerors initiated the
tradition in Mexico while others believe the tradition began with the Aztecs. During that ancestral

Getting the dress custom made does not mean that it will be less expensive; the price relies on the type
of fabric, design, and the tailor selected. Furthermore, there is a large variety of fabric to choose from.
It differs from traditional silk to the most modern materials used today. The type of fabric and color of
your dress is defined by the style and personality, although it is advised to stay close to the modern
fashion trends. At least 9 months before the event, the decision of the dress should have been made,
and also visited a variety of stores, web pages, and looked through magazines to complete your
decision. It is highly recommended to ask the mother for advice or someone that person trusts in case
the mother is not there, but it is also not recommended to take more than one person when buying and
choosing the dress because different opinions may confuse you and affect the decision. When
choosing the dress, you should always make sure you are pleased with what you chose. In addition, it
is unconditionally essential to try on all the styles you like and those you do not like since you might
realize that you like the way they fit you. Although it was accustomed for Quinceañera dresses to be
white or a pastel color and decorated with sequins or extra extravagant

The Product Distribution Ideal For Whole Foods Market
Win Win Win Distribution
The product distribution ideal for Whole Foods Market in Namibia will be two. First, the win win win
distribution will be used when the company is entering the new country for the first place. This
distribution channel aims at having all distributors in the supply chain to benefit from the products
being distributed. Even though American companies always aim at reducing the links in the supply
chain, this happens in the developed countries while this company is opening a new store in a
developing country where the distribution channel is expected to change. Therefore, the win win win
distribution channel works in a way that it benefits the all vendors. With attached financial benefits,

Therefore, using third party prospectors will initiate research and production units with the motivation
of having a ready high end market for the products (Roy, 2013).
Cost plus pricing
The ideal pricing strategy for Whole Foods Market will adopt the cost plus pricing strategy that takes
into account the cost of operations or cost of production plus a constant profit. The organic food
market analysis in Namibia indicates that there is a structured market with specific consumer. Organic
foods are better produced locally than flown from abroad. Therefore, the cost of producing these foods
using the local resources will be expected to reduce the retail cost because local production costs are
not equal to abroad production costs (Chris, et al., 2005). Another important pricing strategy ideal for
Whole Foods Market is to use psychology of pricing such that the retailer analyses the responses of
the market and develop a pricing strategy ideal to that consumer response. However, psychological
pricing will depend on the quality of organic foods and consumer services the company is going to
offer to its consumers in the foreign market. In return, the consumers are going to respect and pay for
quality and healthy organic foods they receive from Whole Foods Market Company. Since the market
for the organic food industry in Namibia is already defined as a niche that caters for the elite and
financially advantaged in the society, the company will find it easier to price

Why Do Professional Athletes Use Anabolic Steroids
It was in 1987 that the National Football League started testing players for performance enhancing
drugs. Even though the NFL has been drug testing athletes for PED s for that long, unfortunately
athletes still decide to take the drugs even if they will get caught and have consequences. In addition,
the use of PED s by professional athletes have been a problem sin at least the 1960 s. Also, athletes
risk their health in bad ways when they take PED s. Performance enhancing drugs are not beneficial

There were many Chinese dynasties that rose and fell throughout China s history. The history of
China, in a way, is a history of battles and wars. These wars were so important that they changed the
structure of Chinese culture both then and now. Three dynasties that rose and fell during ancient China
were the Han, the Tang, and the Song. The rise and fall of these great dynasties form a link that runs
through Chinese history.
The Han period was one of the golden ages of Chinese civilization. The Han dynasty lasted from 206
B.C. to A.D. 220. It began when the prince of Han, Liu Bang, took the title Gao Zu and began to

found in Canada are not the original people of this land. The current structures, political system,

Western world view is similar, if not exactly to what is seen in the world today. Monchalin (2016)
describes how the Euro centric idea surrounding income and economy is based on individualized gain
and competitiveness. Western views encompass the idea of capitalism, where individuals can grow to
success and obtain more wealth and privilege than others. Leadership for Western views were
structured in a way where the power was at the top and everyone under had little to no say, and must
follow the commands of the leader (Monchalin, 2016). These views of individualized gain,
competitiveness, and outright powers of leaders directly correlates to their view on justice. Since
Western views of justice value the individual over the rest of society, the criminal justice system has
been structured to ignore others. For example, Monchalin (2016) described how in today s world,
polluting a water source results in a fine at most, whereas in First Nations society it is much more
severe. Western views do not incorporate the Earth and only focus on the individual. Furthermore, the
structures believe in punishment, crime control, and full

My Social Location
It is critically important in the field of social work to be able to self assess to better understand one s
life experiences and its implications when working with clients. A famous philosopher of the name
Laozi once said knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment . As a social work
student, being able to identify how my life experiences may impact interactions with clients and
enhancing my conscious use of self in practice is an essential tool that I can carry with me as I plan

Four Step Process Law,

elements of agreement that are required for the formation of a legal contract. The elements of an
agreement that are required for the formation of a legal contract is that it should consist of both offer
and acceptance. This being said, there are principles that constitute an offer and acceptance. An offer
consists of the element of promissory. This means that there must be an undertaking or promise to give

Besides, expires over a specific time frame depending on the conditions, it is able to be withdrawn
prior to an acceptance made. Lastly, an offer lapses when a counter offer is made as well. The other
element of agreement is acceptance. An acceptance must be made on the same term as the offer and
can only made by the person who the offer is addressed to. Meanwhile, an acceptance must be made
while the offer is still in existence and it must be made in an acceptable form which means that the
acceptance must be made in the same manner of the offer was offered. Lastly, the acceptance is
effective when communicated. When an acceptance is via post, it is effective when the letter of
acceptance is posted. This is shown in the case of Henthorn v Fraser where Fraser offered Henthorn
the selling of houses for 750 dollars and gave 14 days to accept the offer. The next day, Henthorn
accepted the offer and posted a letter to Fraser. However, Fraser was offered a better price on selling
of the houses before he received the letter and wished to withdraw it. The issue is that should the
acceptance has already been made once the letter was posted. The court decided that the acceptance
stands the moment it was posted (Henthorn v Fraser [1892] 2 Ch 27, cited in Lambiris 2012, 204).

Two Different Types of Abortion
Abortion has become very common in the past couple of years. In fact, research has shown that one
out of three women in the United States have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old (Abortion )
According to Planned Parenthood, there are currently two kinds of abortions being performed in the
United States. One kind of abortion is the in clinic abortion, which is a medical procedure that will
end pregnancy in a safe and effective way, generally costing about three hundred to $950 dollars
during the first trimester (Abortion ). The second kind of abortion available in the United States is the
abortion pill. The abortion pill will require the woman to take medicines to end an early pregnancy,
which it is also said to be safe and effective. The cost of the pill will range from three hundred to eight
hundred dollars. The abortion pill may be used up to 63 day (9 weeks) after the women s last period.
(Abortion ). If the woman s pregnancy is more than nine weeks an in clinic abortion will be
performed, in order to end the pregnancy.
Abortion has come a long way throughout the years and has always been a controversial topic.
Abortion is controversial because they are the liberal minded individuals that believe abortion should
be a decision made only by the pregnant women. There are also the more conservative minded
individuals that believe abortion should not be performed by any circumstances. These individuals
reject the idea of an abortion due to religious beliefs. A

Emerson and Thoreau
An influential literary movement in the nineteenth century, transcendentalism placed an emphasis on
the wonder of nature and its deep connection to the divine. As the two most prominent figures in the
transcendentalist movement, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau whole heartedly
embraced these principles. In their essays Self Reliance and Civil Disobedience , Emerson and
Thoreau, respectively, argue for individuality and personal expression in different manners. In Self
Reliance , Emerson calls for individuals to speak their minds and resist societal conformity, while in
Civil Disobedience Thoreau urged Americans to publicly state their opinions in order to improve their
own government. Both Thoreau and Emerson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emerson and Thoreau argue that only through self reliance and civil disobedience can society and
government be saved from corruption and incompetence. A key difference between the philosophies of
Emerson and Thoreau as articulated in Self Reliance and Civil Disobedience is their vision of how
individuals should shape society and government. Emerson believes that one should only follow his
own conscience and intellect not the opinions of the crowd. Emerson argues that it is not only possible
to successfully defy the common practices and beliefs of society, but that to be great is to be
misunderstood (Emerson 367). However, Thoreau believes that in a democracy the voice of the people
as whole should be followed. Thoreau desires a better government , not anarchy devoid of the law
where every individual follows his own set of rules (Thoreau 381). Although assuredly in favor of
individuality, Thoreau recognizes that a democracy requires public consensus and popular support.
While Emerson and Thoreau certainly have difference of opinions, they recognize the need for public
discussion and discourse. Emerson declares a foolish consistency to be the hobgoblin of little minds
(Emerson 367). This is shown in their essays Self Reliance and Civil Disobedience in which they
support individuality and personal expression. Despite their contrasting views of society and
government, the two most

who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities. No Okonkwo is
not a hero because he beats his wife during the week of peace. Another reason Okonkwo isn t a hero is
he kills Ikemefuna. The final reason Okonkwo is not a hero is he commits suicide.
One way Okonkwo isn t a hero is he beats his second wife during the week of peace. Achebe shows
how Okonkwo is not a hero by stating Okonkwo s second wife had merely cut a few leaves off it to
wrap some food, and she said so. Without further argument, Okonkwo gave her a sound beating and
left her and her only daughter weeping. In this statement from Things Fall Apart

Differences Between Ancient Egypt And Egypt
Nearly 5000 years ago, two kingdoms surrounded the Nile river, the North around the mouth of the
river and the South stretched along the river for hundreds of miles. The Egypt we re familiar with
begins with King Menes, the first Pharaoh. Under his command, the South conquered the Northern
lands unifying the two nations into what we now consider Ancient Egypt. Even though the two
kingdoms were greatly different, they did have one enormous element in common, the Nile River.
Each spring the southern snow would melt and cause flooding; the waters overflowed and replenished
the soil, promising a large harvest that autumn. The entire kingdom vitally depended on this natural
rhythm.
When western historians created the study of Egyptology they quickly learned the field would need to
be simplified. With the help of intellectual locals and decades of work, a previously monumental mass
of records was divided into an accepted group of 33 dynasties over 3 periods. On the other hand, the
Egyptians never saw their Kingdom divided in that way; to them, Egypt was one, strong, unified land
ruled by a godlike Pharaoh providing safety for his people eternally.
Harmony (Ma at) is a concept Egypt loved to obsess over; they believed in an endless flow that life
and even death allowed them to experience. Practically all surviving remnants from the Old Kingdom
period are the grand tombs and burial sites of the royals, often giving us the wrong impression that
death haunted the Egyptians. Their

Many cultures believe in all sorts of symbols and ideas relating to plants and their spiritual meaning.
The mescaline in the peyote gives people strong visions and vivid images, while allowing them to see

Technology In War Research Paper
Technology at times have been referred to as inventions which create values for human beings and
help them in living a better lifestyle, but no one would have ever thought technology would have even
played an important role in war. The way wars are conducted have changed leaps and bounds from
early 1800s to modern days. Industrial revolution and technologies have transformed how the warfare
is conducted. Although technology might have helped opponents of the war to showcase their
strengths during warfare and win wars, however certain reforms used in warfare had its effects
(positive or negative) on the civilian citizens too.

It was felt that it is important that manufacturing science should consider equipping the soldiers with
guns which could make a bigger impact for the enemies. The armies have come a long way since they

artillery. (WORLD HISTORY OF WARFARE Archer, Christon I., 1940 ; Ferris, John Robert, 1956 ;

warfare and weapons are their tools provided, to help maneuver them in the fields. These weapons are
designed to make maximum impact on enemies in terms of harm or kill or making them disabled, so
that infantry soldiers can make inroads to enemy s territory. Technological advancement in weapons is
just not only attributed to change in physical form of weapon, but there is lot of physics, chemistry,
mechanics are involved in development of weapons. Previously, guns had been cast in individual
molds and hence been much too heavy to drag across battlefields. Starting in eighteen century and
until World War 1 various types of artillery guns were developed and used in war, however each one
of these had their limitations. For example, prior to World War 1, Gatling gun was the most popular
automatic rapid fire weapon, however it was quite heavy which limited its use in warfare. Later
British developed Vickers gun, however it required six man team to operate his gun. Subsequently
Americans invented Lewis gun, an automatic machine gun. This gun was gas powered and just
weighted 28lbs. It could fire 500 600 rounds per minute with maximum muzzle velocity of 2,440 feet
per seconds. The machine gun was an effective addition to arsenals during this time of

Trials and Tribulations of the Muslim Youth Today The Youth of Islam today are dwelling in a crisis
and it is a shame to say that most of them know not of what they are in engrossed in. Others out of
ignorance disobey the commandments of Allah (SWT) and the guidance of the Prophet, Muhammad
(SAW), thus bringing upon them the wrath and anger of Allah (SWT). The lack of authentic
knowledge and taqwa (fearing and being cautiously aware of Allah) allows the shaytaan to throw in
doubts and arrogance into the hearts of the young Muslims. This leads them directly towards the
wrong path and straight to the fire. Therefore without knowledge and a firm foundation of taqwa the
young Muslim well never see the light and the beauty of the religion they are obligated to embrace.
The lack of knowledge and taqwa also opens the doors to many major issues such as identity crisis,
venom of the media, bad companionship, love and attachment to the dunya, and lack of confidence.
Although there may be more reasons to the downfall of the youth these few that were mentioned are
the main issues that the youth must combat because they are things you deal with on a day to day
basis. Time is running and day after day we are losing our brothers and sisters to these issues. It is a
matter of time before we completely lose them and they become so engulfed in disobedience that they
begin to join forces with those who are cursed by Allah (SWT),

The Effect Of Distributed Generation On Power Quality Of...
The Effect of Distributed Generation on Power Quality of Iraqi power System Networks.
Abstract: The primary motivation behind this paper is to examine the essential comprehension of
power quality in connection to the distributed generation. Because of extensive cover between two
innovations, aggravations influencing the power quality, which are principally caused by the
expansion of Distributed Generation (DG) on the existing power system network. Infusion of the DG
into an electric power grid can influence the voltage quality. Distributed generation of various voltage
levels when associated with the power system network could impact the voltage regulation, sustained
interruptions, harmonics, sags, swells, and so on. All the data given here are gathered from various
references by remembering the understudies at the starting level of the concerned topic.
I. INTRODUCTION
The request of force is heightened in the realm of power. This development of interest triggers a need
of more power generation. DG utilizes smaller sized generators than does the ordinary central station

Generators are of 1 kW to 100 MW [1].
Meaning of DG [2].
Distributed generation in straightforward term can be characterized as a small scale generation. It is an

Adults and children alike are unable to receive simple healthcare because clinics and medications are
in short supply. Given these situations, poverty stricken areas create an abundance of infections and
diseases. Poverty areas also lend to an epidemical lack of education and insufficient knowledge. The
lack of education, particularly of the female populace, has been associated with underprivileged health
concern in under developed countries.
INTRODUCTION
In addition to the above mentioned contributors to poor health, environmental diseases can be traced
back to a lack of water, vector borne illnesses, appalling surroundings, poor air quality, contaminated
elements and universal environmental ups and downs. Defensive practices exist which would decrease
the problem of disease from these threats; however efficient integration of these movements into
policy has remained an obstacle for the governments of these under developed countries. Predictions

culture have a greater influence in Singapore. Mandarin is generally propagated through many

newspaper that circulates in Singapore, which mainly publishes China news, Chinese culture as well
as Chinese literature, make the Chinese culture into people s daily life (Anonymous, 2010).
Last but not least, it is actually families which pass on the culture and live with it as the most

This aspect of Bartleby s heroism affects the story by developing a new theme to the story and
developing the character of the narrator who is part of the story as the boss to Bartleby. It develops the
theme of association between chronometrical time and the world of the spirits. It also changes the
character of the narrator because he develops a new attitude towards time, and the world of spirits,
which changes his normal way of belief. The narrator of the story becomes shocked when he discovers
that Bartleby, who only feeds on ginger nuts, has never left the office. This is actually the first time
that the narrator experiences the spiritual power that Bartleby possesses. The narrator is so much
business oriented that he only looks at the world in terms of profits. However, when he encounters this
aspect of the spirit of Bartleby, his attitude towards life changes. He begins appreciating the fact that
Bartleby deserves better treatment, not in the capitalist way. The narrator even sees what is a right, just
as an asset, but this perception is later changed by Bartleby s spirit: What earthly right have you to
stay here? Do you pay any rent? Do you pay my taxes? Or is this property yours? (Melville, 41). The
perception of the narrator, of everything including rights of Bartleby as assets prevents the narrator
from understanding the spiritual aspect of the pride in Bartleby. Although the narrator

Other citizens will not be born into a wealthy family, be well educated, and others will have bad luck
and end up in the lower class. There is also a middle class for hard working individuals who are
neither weathly nor poor, but have a steady job and can support their family. This will be the largest
class in the state. Marx would disagree with this because multiple classes will eventually lead to the
wealthy exploiting the lower classes. Marx would disagree with the middle class being the staple to
my society. In his opinion the middle class is nonexistent because one either makes a fortune or hardly
anything at all. Marx believes that there are only two classes in society, the property owners and the
property less workers (Marx [1884] 2011, 570). Capitalism fails to unite the classes and have them
working for a common good, instead it is based on greed and competition which causes the
estrangement out of the worker. The estrangement causes the worker to become alienated during work.
There are three reasons why the worker becomes alienated and they are: labor is external to the
worker, the worker alienates himself through labor, and finally man is a species being and they lose
relationship to the other actors. All of the reasons of estrangement make the worker work a job where
he does repetitive skills, feels unhappy, ruins his mind, and works for another worker so that person

A necessary prerequisite for a full understanding of any species behavior includes possessing

monitored for a positive response, indicative of the detection of sweetness. Results from our

responsive to simple and sweet flavored carbohydrates (Dethier 1955, as quoted in Jakinovich et. al.
1971). However, taxa members responses to amino acids have been shown to be more subtle, if
present at all, with Potter and Bertin (1988), for example, determining no significant response to a
variety of amino acid solutions in S. bullata.
Traditionally, experimental analysis of Homo sapiens taste thresholds has similarly focused on these
two classes of biomolecules, with similar sweetness thresholds as those exhibited by members of the
taxa Insecta being established in H. sapiens with respect to simple carbohydrates. For example, while
Scheiner et. al. in (2003) (as quoted in Scheiner et al. 2004), demonstrated that a sucrose concentration

of the honey bee, Apis mellifera, Richard Bowen (2016) has indicated the H. sapiens population
response threshold resides around sucrose concentrations of 3.4%.
Recently however, the movement away from the high calorie content of simple carbohydrate

The Influence Of Zionism On The Creation Of A Jewish State
Zion
Since biblical times Jewish communities lived in Arab lands, in Persia, India, East and North Africa
and indeed in Palestine. However more modern times have seen them as a nomadic people, living in
various countries but never truly finding a land to call there own. In the late 19th and early 20th
century an idea began to gain solidarity and momentum, that of Zionism. The idea of Zionism, to
create a Jewish state, is arguably one of modern society s most polarizing and influential movements.
Zionism has influenced political, religious, and social groups in a variety of ways that culminated in
the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine.(Cohen, week 10) The term Zionism, as it is understood
today, began to be used significantly by the political activist Herzl. Herzl was driven to action
following the event of the infamous anti Semitic Dreyfus affair in which a Jewish/French officer was
wrongly accused of spying for Germany. This led Herzl to believe that anywhere the Jews went they
would be unfairly persecuted. Herzl s solution, create an independent Jewish state. To realize his goal
Herzl began to look to political, religious, and social groups to garner support for his cause. (Cohen,
Week 10) The global political landscape is fickle and has a habit of mutating and evolving in strange
ways. The view of Zionist movement was hardly unaffected by these rapid changes in political
mindset and agenda. Pre World War 1 era saw a primary anti sematic Europe, from Frances

Music, Ethics, And The Music Industry
Is sharing always caring?
You, ethics, and the music industry
The music industry much like every other industry has found ways to connect their product to the
people through technology. Now music is readily available to the public through many avenues
ITunes, YouTube, and so much more. As music has become more available to the public the industry
now faces the threat of illegal downloading and sharing of music files. Many people will purchase an
album through a download site and then either post it for free download to others or distribute it to
their friends; while those who do this don t usually face consequence does that make it right?

morally right and wrong; whether it is or isn t depends on the type of philosophy you use but I know

has brought to us as a society and what it has caused us such as cybercrimes. But all in all I have

International Students Should Be Taught At A University
International students who come from different parts of the world to study with later hopes of finding
a job, take loans to help pay for education ending up in large debts. This sadly is a harsh reality for
students who come as international students into the United States. International students are not
permitted to work off campus while studying at a university. According to the U.S. Citizenship
Immigration Services, visas granted to foreign students are prohibited to any execution of a job
(Working). This can include any work ranging from working in motels and liquor stores to in some
cases, on campus. Inability to abide by these rules can result in deportation or can affect the student
visa and further permissions for a work visa and a green card. Making it incapable for international
students to work off campus, builds a financial burden on these students as well as their parents back
home. Not only are these students burdened with thousands of dollars of debt, the currency exchange
rate makes it tougher for these students to pay for their tuitions, housing, and food, without earning it
in American dollars. Some students are fortunate enough to find and do jobs on campus, but only
small number of students admitted in United States universities are hired for on campus and the
availability is quite low in comparison to a number of international students. This makes it difficult for
international students to get an on campus job and help pay their tuitions, as well as

Midas Wretchedness
In opposition to the two stories recounting King Midas wretchedness, the two stories give the Golden
Touch an alternate undertone. By telling the whole backstory and determination, the short story
considered a more positive undertone. This conflicted with the sonnet s all the more premonition and
discouraging state of mind. All through the whole story, the ruler was upbeat about his fortune and
girl. He was so devoured by his need for gold that there was no space for distress or torment. So as
long as he had his kid and room of gold, there was nothing for him to stress over. At the point when
Midas initially got the Golden Touch, he began up, in a sort of happy furor, and kept running about the
room, getting a handle on at everything that

Wollstonecraft 2065 Summary
Wollstonecraft 2065 Summary
If you ve never been to Wollstonecraft NSW, you are missing out on one of the best suburbs in
Sydney. It s a beautiful, nice and quiet suburb located next to the busier suburb of Crow s Nest, but not
so close to get caught up in that hectic lifestyle. Wollstonecraft has several properties that offer
magnificent water views and the train and bus transport systems run on a frequent and convenient
schedule. Unlike some North Sydney suburbs, this one offers ample parking. The combination of
amenities and the lifestyle make Wollstonecraft high in demand, which makes it a bit more expensive
than some of its surrounding suburbs. The locals who live here like it just the way it is.
Wollstonecraft 2065 Profile
Wollstonecraft is a quiet harbourside lower North Shore suburb of Sydney. Not a lot happens her, but
that s why the locals love this suburb. They enjoy keeping their little waterfront suburb to themselves.
That doesn t mean there isn t room for more people who share the desire to live in a safe, peaceful
community.

They relish in their private spot tucked away in one of the most sought after water frontage suburbs in
Sydney. The proximity to the CBD and to Crow s Nest gives them ample opportunities to go join the
excitement of the city.
Instead of worrying about life, work, and the stress of living in the city, Wollstonecraft residents get to
revel in their foreshore community amidst the walking trails that connect the parks and their harbour
scenery.

Religion in Latin America; the Age of Discovery and...
Religion played a big role in shaping the values, attitudes, and conduct of the Spanish during the Age
of Discovery and Conquest (1492 1579). The colonial church provided control and a standard of
conduct and living for the new world. In fact, the colonial church had even more power in Spanish
America then it did in Spain. Why this is important though, is because it limited the possibility of
rebellion and opposition. As long as the church was in place, there was Spanish order, and as long as
there was Spanish order, the colonization process could continue to run smoothly and prosper.
Nurtured by the crown, the colonial church thrived. Its main priorities were to convert the Indians, and
to theoretically justify the Iberian presence in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The conversion process did not go on without a hitch though, throughout the new world missionaries
had many obstacles to overcome. The first problem they ran into was the vast number of native
languages they encountered. Another is the scattered geographical locations of many tribes, because
there wasn t an easy pattern to follow, Christianity and conversion could not spread as rapidly as they
would ve liked it to. A third way in which the conversion was more difficult than intended, was when
they came across native religions that shared some of the same beliefs, although it helped that some
basic ideologies were already in place, it was much harder for Christianity to be seen as new and
unique. Unlike the original settlers, evangelicals who traveled to convert did not show the same
respect for the indigenous g ds; the Christian g d was to stand alone. The native religions were
destructed very systematically; natives who practiced their religions instead of converting were also
prosecuted, and many times by the priests themselves. In these areas of evangelical settlers who would
conquest throughout Latin America, laws were even put in place to ensure the practicing of
Christianity. As declared by Prudence, the law dictated that Natives, whatever their private beliefs,
publicly comply with their conqueror s religion (Burkholder Johnson 109). So much for separation of
church and state in the Age of Discovery and Conquest,

like no other island in the chain. No Hawaiian island is the same; each one has something different to
offer, equally they all have beaches and hikes. Laniakea beach and Pupukea Beach Park represent two
of the best beaches on the North shore for snorkeling, scuba diving and merely playing in the water.
Two good hiking trails that are both located on the southeastern side of the island, Makapu u Point and

built in 1909, is not available to walk around just a sight to see on the hillside. (Crosby). If coming

pass right by this point. Heading down the steep trail to the tide pools there is a blow hole that can

Following the path through the jungle of trees you will reach the waterfall. At its base is the larger,

  • 2. Notes On Green Fluorescent Proteins 1. Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) GFP is a widely used tool in the field of Molecular biology and Cell biology. It involves emission of fluorescence under Ultra Violet light which allows for direct investigation into the inner working of cells. Green Fluorescent Protein was first isolated from the jelly fish Aequorea victoria by Osamu Shimomura (Shimomura et al., 1962). Since its discovery, it has become useful in the field of science. The GFP chromophore is formed from tri peptide in the primary structure of GFP. Its fluorescence is turned on when exposed to molecular oxygen. The gene of GFP has been introduced into many bacteria, yeast, fungi, plants and humans (Amsterdam, A. et al., 1996) and it is still gaining rapid ground in the field of biological science. 2. Structure of the Green Fluorescent Protein The GFP is composed of two structures; a barrel beta structure consisting of 11 beta strands and an alpha helix containing the covalently bonded chromophore 4 p (hydroxybenzylidene) imidazolidin 5 one. The chromophore is in the centre of the barrel beta structure (Tsien, 1998). The size of the beta structure is 42Å long and 24Å in diameter. Due to its length and width it creates a beta like structure which is common in the GFP family (Yang, 1996). The chromophore is made from a tri peptide Ser65 Tyr66 Gly67. To form its structure GFP first folds into a nearly native conformation, then the imidazolinoneis is formed by nucleophilic attack of the amide of Gly67 on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Faint Hints Of Tranquility Analysis The two short stories that I ve enjoyed the most have been Faint Hints of Tranquility by Shibli and the excerpt from Midnight in Mexico by Corchado. Although these stories are fiction they come across as intensely genuine. The sincerity in the tone of the authors brought me into the setting. Both authors drew immensely from their own experiences, Corchado being a journalist documenting the cartels in mexico, just like his protagonist. As well as Shibli living in palestine with her journalist card being the only thing getting her through checkpoints. It would seem that biographically speaking, both of these authors have lived the lives they portray in these stories. Which makes them all the more engaging and sympathetic. Both pieces have protagonists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then you see the blood and oozing scabs covering 3 out of every 10 of all your friends and family member bodies. What would you do if this monstrous disease called The Black Death was taking over your village? Well, this very tragic event in history did, in fact, happen. The Black Death started to take over the world around 1347 and originated in China. It tested the villager s emotions and abilities to do what s right in hard times. The disease pulled on their tender heartstring and ripped them apart. The Muslim and Christian religious reactions to this tragic situation were more different than alike. Some people were being helpful and generous to the sick, while others were taking advantage of the dying people. What would you do if this monstrous disease called The Black Death was taking over your village? During The Black Death, the Christian and Muslim religious reactions were more different than alike. The author of a primary source written in 1348 called Cronaca Senese (3A) is named Agnolo di Tura (The Fat). The author states, Father abandoned child, wife, husband, one brother another . This quote is one representation of how the Christians reacted to the black death. Christians left there friends and even family members in the dust. • 5. The Problem Of World Hunger Growing up, the commercials of starving children in Africa in need of food because of rampant starvation and the pervasive threat of death have been streaming on various media. World Hunger is one of the main problems that a large portion of the global population faces today. Hunger varies with severity but in this case it is the want of food in a third world country. World hunger is a problem that has existed for much of our known history; it has faded away from central concerns because it is barely brought up in everyday conversations. World hunger has many aggravating factors and principal causes, such as insufficient economic systems, misinformation, climate changes, etc. But the main debilitating factor is poverty as poverty always has led to people going without regular meals because they cannot afford to eat. There are vast quantities of people in third world nations and developing countries that are so impoverished that are in desperate need for food. Whether a country is rich or poor, there are always tremendous numbers of people dealing with poverty and hunger. Perhaps most disheartening is the cruel reality that most of the victims are young children. Hunger is a very serious issue that cannot easily be remedied. As a matter of fact, people all over the world mainly concentrated in developing countries die because of hunger and starvation on a daily basis. With the growth of population, the number of hungry people also increases at a disproportionate rate. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Meanwhile, an acceptance must be made while the offer is still in existence and it must be made in an acceptable form which means that the acceptance must be made in the same manner of the offer was offered. Lastly, the acceptance is effective when communicated. When an acceptance is via post, it is effective when the letter of acceptance is posted. Emerson and Thoreau argue that only through self reliance and civil disobedience can society and government be saved from corruption and incompetence. A key difference between the philosophies of Emerson and Thoreau as articulated in Self Reliance and Civil Disobedience is their vision of how individuals should shape society and government. Emerson believes that one should only follow his own conscience and intellect not the opinions of the crowd. Emerson argues that it is not only possible to successfully defy the common practices and beliefs of society, but that to be great is to be misunderstood (Emerson 367). Differences Between Ancient Egypt And Egypt Nearly 5000 years ago, two kingdoms surrounded the Nile river, the North around the mouth of the river and the South stretched along the river for hundreds of miles. The Egypt we re familiar with begins with King Menes, the first Pharaoh. Under his command, the South conquered the Northern lands unifying the two nations into what we now consider Ancient Egypt. Even though the two kingdoms were greatly different, they did have one enormous element in common, the Nile River. Each spring the southern snow would melt and cause flooding; the waters overflowed and replenished the soil, promising a large harvest that autumn. The entire kingdom vitally depended on this natural rhythm. When western historians created the study of Egyptology they quickly learned the field would need to be simplified. With the help of intellectual locals and decades of work, a previously monumental mass of records was divided into an accepted group of 33 dynasties over 3 periods. On the other hand, the Egyptians never saw their Kingdom divided in that way; to them, Egypt was one, strong, unified land ruled by a godlike Pharaoh providing safety for his people eternally. Previously, guns had been cast in individual molds and hence been much too heavy to drag across battlefields. Starting in eighteen century and until World War 1 various types of artillery guns were developed and used in war, however each one of these had their limitations. For example, prior to World War 1, Gatling gun was the most popular automatic rapid fire weapon, however it was quite heavy which limited its use in warfare. Later British developed Vickers gun, however it required six man team to operate his gun. Subsequently Americans invented Lewis gun, an automatic machine gun. There is also a middle class for hard working individuals who are neither weathly nor poor, but have a steady job and can support their family. This will be the largest class in the state. Marx would disagree with this because multiple classes will eventually lead to the wealthy exploiting the lower classes. Marx would disagree with the middle class being the staple to my society. In his opinion the middle class is nonexistent because one either makes a fortune or hardly anything at all. Marx believes that there are only two classes in society, the property owners and the property less workers (Marx [1884] 2011, 570). Capitalism fails to unite the classes and have them working for a common good, instead it is based on greed and competition which causes the estrangement out of the worker. The estrangement causes the worker to become alienated during work. There are three reasons why the worker becomes alienated and they are: labor is external to the worker, the worker alienates himself through labor, and finally man is a species being and they lose relationship to the other actors. However more modern times have seen them as a nomadic people, living in various countries but never truly finding a land to call there own. In the late 19th and early 20th century an idea began to gain solidarity and momentum, that of Zionism. The idea of Zionism, to create a Jewish state, is arguably one of modern society s most polarizing and influential movements. Zionism has influenced political, religious, and social groups in a variety of ways that culminated in the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine.(Cohen, week 10) The term Zionism, as it is understood today, began to be used significantly by the political activist Herzl. Herzl was driven to action following the event of the infamous anti Semitic Dreyfus affair in which a Jewish/French officer was wrongly accused of spying for Germany. This led Herzl to believe that anywhere the Jews went they would be unfairly persecuted. Herzl s solution, create an independent Jewish state. To realize his goal Herzl began to look to political, religious, and social groups to garner support for his cause. International Students Should Be Taught At A University International students who come from different parts of the world to study with later hopes of finding a job, take loans to help pay for education ending up in large debts. This sadly is a harsh reality for students who come as international students into the United States. International students are not permitted to work off campus while studying at a university. According to the U.S. Citizenship Immigration Services, visas granted to foreign students are prohibited to any execution of a job (Working). This can include any work ranging from working in motels and liquor stores to in some cases, on campus. Inability to abide by these rules can result in deportation or can affect the student visa and further permissions for a work visa and a green card. Making it incapable for international students to work off campus, builds a financial burden on these students as well as their parents back home. Not only are these students burdened with thousands of dollars of debt, the currency exchange rate makes it tougher for these students to pay for their tuitions, housing, and food, without earning it in American dollars. Some students are fortunate enough to find and do jobs on campus, but only small number of students admitted in United States universities are hired for on campus and the availability is quite low in comparison to a number of international students.
