In this project, we find conversion and temperature profile of a two catalyst bed with one interbed heat exchanger ammonia converter and a three catalyst bed with two interbed heat exchanger ammonia converter both have radial flow by using a pseudo homogeneous two dimensional mathematical model on the basis of principle of conservation of mass and energy balance with the help of MATLAB pde solver.We conclude that a three catalyst bed ammonia converter give a higher conversion and lower pressure drop compare to the two catalyst bed ammonia converter for the same volume of catalyst bed and same amount of feed stock.

The KBR process for ammonia synthesis uses natural gas as a feedstock that is reformed through primary and secondary reforming to produce syngas. The syngas is then purified through shift conversion, CO2 removal, methanation, drying and cryogenic purification. The purified syngas is then used to synthesize ammonia through a reaction with nitrogen in the presence of a catalyst at high pressure and moderate temperatures. The KBR process offers advantages such as a clean syngas that reduces load on equipment and achieves higher conversion efficiency through low inert content.

Synthesis gas, also known as syngas, is a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. It is primarily produced from natural gas and oil through steam reforming and the water-gas shift reaction. Syngas has many uses as a chemical feedstock and in producing derivatives like methanol and alcohols. Some of the major engineering challenges involved are removing sulfur from hydrocarbon feeds, efficiently supplying heat for the endothermic reforming reactions, preventing carbon formation on catalysts, and absorbing byproducts like carbon dioxide.

Hydrogen production via steam reforming of natural gas is the most common and economical method. It involves four steps: reforming of methane and steam into hydrogen and carbon monoxide, shift conversion to further increase hydrogen, gas purification to remove carbon dioxide, and methanation to convert remaining carbon oxides to methane. Newer plants use pressure swing adsorption instead of wet scrubbing for high purity hydrogen. Partial oxidation of heavier feeds is also possible but more expensive due to needing oxygen.

The problem solved by in house experts without changing the heat exchangers while others plant change the heat exchangers. Number of modification done and huge amount of energy saved. The paper intended how to save energy by changing heat exchanger and pressure of PC Stripper. The treated process condensate was earlier cooled by CW in final cooler from about 90ºC to 40ºC. This available heat of PC is being recovered by exchanging heat with DM water in a plate heat exchanger. The pressure of PC stripper has been raised to about 1.5 kg/cm²g to make the extra heat recovery possible. Now pressure is 41.5 kg/cm2. A new Plate heat exchanger was procured & installed for the heat recovery.

Piper Alpha was an oil production platform in the North Sea that caught fire in 1988, resulting in the deaths of 167 workers. The platform began oil production in 1976 and was later converted to gas production. On July 6, 1988, a gas leak caused an explosion and massive fire that destroyed the platform within hours. The fire spread due to the platform's design which lacked firewalls between modules and the continued pumping of gas and oil from connected platforms. It was one of the worst offshore oil disasters in history.

The Flixborough disaster was the largest peacetime explosion in UK history, occurring on June 1st, 1974 at a chemical plant in Flixborough, UK. The explosion killed 28 workers and caused widespread property damage within a 6 mile radius. The public inquiry into the cause determined that the immediate cause was the rupture of a poorly designed 20-inch bypass pipe between two reactors. However, subsequent analysis suggested that the more likely cause was the presence of water in one of the reactors during startup when the stirrer was not operating, allowing an unstable water-cyclohexane azeotrope to form and violently erupt, causing the bypass pipe to fail without high pressure. Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.

- 3. Basic • H2 plant is the unit which produce Hydrogen (H2), as product process reaction between feed gas (hydrocarbon) from natural gas and feed steam. • To get higher conversion in the reformer, as main reactor, reformer will be continoue wtih High Temperature Shift Converter (HTSC) reactor
- 4. • H2-Plant completed with a Hydrogen purification unit which named pressure swing adsorbtion (PSA) and feed treatment unit • This plant can produce high purity hydrogen 99,9%
- 5. Raw material Use natural gas with the composition: • H2 14,05 % mole dry • C1 62,28 % • C2 6,17 % • C3 7,38 % • C4 4,56 % • C5 1,09 % • H2S 50 ppm • Berat Molekul : 20,5 And use steam for the reaction
- 6. The reaction • CH4 + H2O = CO + 3H2 (reaksi utama, endothermic) • CO + H2O = CO2 + H2 (reaksi samping, eksotemis, porsi kecil) Suhu reformer ± 800 oC
