This amounts to 165 minutes a week for a three credit class that meets three times a week for 55
minutes. This is not that far off from the weekly amount of needed fitness hours per week. According
to Women s Health magazine the correct amount of exercise for any gender adult is 150 minutes a
week (Narins). This means the physical education course could easily be translated to reach the
requirements of contact hours of a typical three credit course. However, where this physical education
course would fall short compared to other classes would be the classwork that is required in other
ordinary three credit bearing courses, like exams, compositions, and other assignments. For this
reason, the physical education class will be structured like many of the music classes at Lakeland
College that are worth one credit. Having the course bear one credit is reasonable since the 150 minute
