Advantages Of Anti Dynasty In The Philippines
There is political dynasty when members of the same family or clan has dominated or occupied
elected positions either in sequence for the same position, or simultaneously across different positions,
this is now a problem in Philippine politics that the government itself cannot solve. Why? Because
majority of the people seated in position are members of political dynasties. They want to stay in
office because of the strong desire for power, greed, and authority. But why are they still seated even
though we have the power to vote? When almost all of us are aware that they come from the same
dynasty? We cannot blame the Filipino people for that. Because these people are so greedy that they
use their money, influence, and wealth to exploit our votes. In that way, they will dominate politics. I
would try to lay down some reasons why I am in favor of passing an anti dynasty law here in the
Philippines. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his statement, There is something inherently wrong in giving a corrupt family or individual the
chance at an indefinite monopoly in public office... I believe it is now time to pass an Anti Dynasty
Law. I strongly agree with this statement. It is now time that political dynasties should come to a stop.
First, it is unconstitutional. According to Article II Section 26 of the 1987 Constitution:The State shall
guarantee equal access to opportunities for public service, and prohibit political dynasties as may be
defined by law. With this we can understand that political dynasty should not be tolerated because it is
a crime, it does not abide the Law of the land. With political dynasties existing, equal access to
opportunities has been deprived from those who have the passion to hold public

How To Write An Essay About The Alchemist
The bestseller novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is known by many people for its valuable lessons
and ideas. However, I am not one of these people as I am not fond of this book.
Opinion: The Alchemist uses elements of magical fantasy that aren t familiar to me, thrilling and
action packed events are not present, and I do not agree with some of the lessons that the book
portrays.
Components of magical fantasy are used in the novel that I don t understand. Omens, Universal
Languages, and mysterious forces aren t principles that I consider in my daily life and therefore they
aren t familiar to me. For example, Santiago uses Omens as signs that guide him throughout life.
Omens are not a concept that I have learned about until reading this novel. These signals do not make
much sense to me, seeming much too coincidental to be real. Santiago also connects things in his life
through Universal Languages, such as the desert and the caravan. However, a language that is
universal or a language between inanimate things doesn t exist in real life, making it hard for a reader
to imagine such a thing. Finally, in the novel, there are mysterious forces that teach people of their
personal legends, such as the King was to Santiago. It does make sense for people to realize their
dreams and goals through experiences or people. This isn t the case always in the novel, instead,
specific forces inform people of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, these events and experiences are predictable and don t obtain much action. When a novel
doesn t incorporate thrilling or unexpected events, it causes the reader to lose interest in the story.
Also, lessons and messages come across better and are stronger when there are certain powerful
events that shape them. If there were such events, the reader would be able to relate to them or
understand the ideas

Nuclear Weapons And The Atomic Bomb
If the Third World War is fought with nuclear weapons, the fourth will be fought with bows and
arrows Lord Mountbatten. This quotes, by a famous British Naval Officer, summarizes the threats
nuclear weapons present to the entire world. With the development of the atomic bomb during the
Second World War, a new war was started: the Cold War. The ideology behind this war continues on to
this day and has led to many treaties and other attempts to stop the production and potential use of
nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are a scientifically impressive feat; however, they present a
difficult situation in terms of the global political system.
The first ever nuclear test occurred on July 16, 1945 in Trinity, New Mexico (ICAN, n.d.). This ...

Critical mass is the smallest mass required for chain reaction fission to take place. The implosion type
design requires a specialized, sophisticated arrangement of explosives to fire simultaneously from all
direction to the pit, or center of the weapon, in this case plutonium (CTBTO, n.d.). However, these
designs are not used by modern countries, who instead use thermonuclear weapons of 1,000X the
strength in tons. A typical fission weapon has a blast of about 20 kilotons (20,000 tons of TNT),
whereas thermonuclear weapons can have a yield up to 50 megatons (Nuclear Weapon Archive, 2007).
The first thermonuclear weapons date back to the 1950s. The reason thermonuclear weapons have
such a larger yield is due to their 2 part design. The primary part is based off of fission. Plutonium 239
is used in an implosion type fission weapon to start the fusion reaction at the center of the plutonium
(which is filled with hydrogen gas). The fission part of the weapon then serves to start the fusion part
of the bomb. By igniting the spark plug of either plutonium or uranium, surrounding the lithium
deuteride (a Lithium Hydride with a deuterium hydrogen), the metal undergoes fission, creating
enough heat for fusion to occur in the deuterium (Nelson and Gronlund, 2009). There are numerous
different types of thermonuclear weapons, such as the two

David Webb Research Paper
71 year old volunteer David Webb is hard at work a McKenzie River Trust site; pruning and stomping
on a thick patch of invasive blackberry which threatens to overtake a clearing of vulnerable native
plants. Sweat dribbles down from under his faded Husqvarna baseball cap. He stops to briefly wipe
the sweat off his brow. Between the beating sun and the physical exertion he starts to show signs of
fatigue. It is clear however, that being outdoors and taking care of nature is what he wants to be doing.
All his life, Webb has had a special connection with nature. Growing up in Illinois he would spend a
lot of his freetime on the 5 acres of forest behind his house. His family would regularly go on camping
trips and hike through some of the most iconic national parks of the United States. He remembers one
trip, in particular, a one month road trip that saw him traverse across the west coast s entirety; from
Seattle to Los Angeles. This trip held special significance for Webb as he explained, That s when I

X-Ray Technician Application
In my 30 plus years in the X ray profession, I have performed thousands of X ray examinations. The
technology and its contribution to patient care still fascinate me. X rays or radiography, as it is known
in medicine allow for looking inside a body and identifying everything from broken bones to
swallowed objects. The tool is vital to the ability to diagnose and treat injuries. Radiologic technology
encompasses a wide spectrum of specialties, from radiographers (who produce 3 D and 2 D images of
bones, organs and vessels) to radiation therapists (who administer customized forms of radiation to
treat cancer and other diseases). After working at several Columbus area hospitals, I became a
radiologic technology professor and now work with students at the University of Cincinnati. My

While traveling during the summer, I experienced severe abdominal pain and went to the emergency
room of a St. Louis hospital. The physician ordered a CT (computed tomography) scan of my chest,
abdomen and pelvis. Four large tumors were found in my uterus. When I returned home to Pickaway
County, I underwent additional imaging exams so the medical team could get a clear look at the
growths. I had an ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist
Hospital. Based on the results of those tests, I was scheduled for surgery in early September. I was
extremely frightened, of course, because I didn t know whether the tumors were cancerous nor did I
know what to expect. The role reversal felt strange. After having spent more than three decades taking
X rays and preparing students to enter the profession, I was suddenly relying on the expertise of other

Department Of Defense (DOD) Group Analysis
According to the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Group 1 is the first classification of a UAV. This
classification includes UAVs that have a maximum weight of approximately 0 20 pounds. These two
classifications of Group 1 UAVs are Micro and Nano UAVs. On average Micro/Nano UAVs has a low
speed, small size, weight, and low operating altitude. They weigh as little as 100 grams (Qassim,
2014), which limits their capability to carry large payloads, airspeed and normal operating altitude.
The majority of hobbyist UASs resides in this category. The second classification UAS is Group 2,
which are slightly larger and longer ranged than Group 1 UASs. According to Qassim Group 2 UAVs

The group 3 UASs have traditionally been reserved for large commercial or governmental planes.
However, it also includes some very large hobbist planes. According to Qassim Group 3 is considered
large UAV with maximum gross takeoff weight of 1320 pounds. This UAV is capable of flying up to
an altitude of 18,000 MSL. Group four is also a large UAV which is similar to group 3. The one major
gap that group four has its weight, which can be greater than 1320 and its ability to fly at any airspeed
up to 18000 MSL. Lastly group 5 which is the largest UAS technology. It has a maximum Gross
Takeoff weight of 1320 pounds and has the capability to fly over 18000 MSL at any airspeed (Qassim,
2014). UAVs may be fixed wing aircraft, or rotary wing aircraft. Each type comes with own advantage
and disadvantage. The fixed wing can have higher endurance since it can glide. Although it has the
upper hand in endurance, it is not agile enough for delivery or any kind contraband usage. On the
other hand the Rotary wing has agility since it has the ability to hover and maneuver in a confined
area. The downside of this type of UAS is endurance as a result of not being able to glide unlike the
fixed wing

Major Drug Companies Taking Hefty Price Increases Essay
NEW YORK (Reuters) Major drug companies took hefty price increases in the U.S., in some cases
more than doubling listed charges, for widely used medications over the past five years, a Reuters
analysis of proprietary data found.
Prices for four of the nation s top 10 drugs increased more than 100 percent since 2011, Reuters found.
Six others went up more than 50 percent. Together, the price increases on drugs for arthritis, high
cholesterol, asthma and other common problems added billions in costs for consumers, employers and
government health programs.
Extraordinary price hikes by two small companies, Turing Pharmaceuticals and Valeant
Pharmaceuticals International Inc , drew new attention to drug costs. Turing expected to book $200
million by raising the price of Daraprim, an antiparasitic used for a rare infection, by 5,000 percent,
according to company documents released by Congressional investigators.
Routine price increases by bigger players may draw less attention, but they add up. Sales for the top
10 drugs went up 44 percent to $54 million in 2014, from 2011, even though prescriptions for the
medications dropped 22 percent, according to IMS Health data.
At the top of the list was AbbVie Inc , which raised the price of arthritis drug Humira more than 126
percent, Reuters found. Next were Amgen Inc and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd , which raised
prices for arthritis treatment Enbrel and multiple sclerosis drug Copaxone by 118 percent.

Acquisition Of ( Conrail ) Consolidated Rail Corporation
CASE: ACQUISITION OF (Conrail) CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION (50 MARKS)
Question 1: Reason for reference to Conrail as a scarce jewel ? (4mks) Conrail had its operations
within the Northeast market, a rail network that other rail companies were yet to explore. It connected
the Northeastern cities to the Midwestern and Southern cities. Even though Conrail had a high cost
position, the revenue it obtains relative per mile track operated is the highest, giving it a high
operating ratio, hence potential to increase income. For this reason, great synergies would be created
should there be a merger with CSX, Norfolk Southern or any other rail company at all. Additionally,
analysts view that either company that would get the merger with Conrail might reduce business for
the other company or lead to its collapse. This reference as a scarce jewel is further exhibited in the
wars that arose after CSX and Conrail announced their intentions to form a merger. These wars are in
form of the offers made to Conrail that ended up in a lawsuit by Norfolk Southern to stop the Conrail
CSX merger. Question two: Motives in acquiring Conrail for; CSX (3.5mks) Creation of synergy CSX
wanted to have an economic advantage in terms of operational efficiency and increased capital.

The Coaster Of The Roller Coaster
Our roller coaster is about three and a half feet tall and two feet wide. It has one loop, two funnels,
three turns, one five part zig zag, and one pulley leading from the end to the top, and four bells that
rang and vibrated when the marble hit them. Our group divided the work by, assigning people jobs,
then switching after a while. An example of that some people would score and other group members
would fold, or some would build and others would test, and we took turns switching jobs. Something
surprising we learned during construction is that it is very hard to make turns out of paper. Something
else that went well for our group was making a bucket load of materials before we started really
making the roller coaster. Another thing that went well for us was using a very strong foundation and
structure before starting on the track. Also, we had to reinforce the structure when the roller coaster
started wobbling a bit. The pulley was a bit of a challenge because it was hard to make and we ran out
of string many times. We had to use much thicker string which held the pulley together, but created
too much friction. Lastly, after we spray painted it, parts of the roller coaster started falling apart, like
the pulley. Fixed the kinks in the roller coaster, and our finished product was Marbolous! In our
construction our group would change how we constructed the pulley, the crooked columns, and the
lack of sloping nearing the end. The main problem we had with the pulley, was the

JBI distributes principally bottled sports drinks provided by small specialty beverage companies. The
company s discounts policy depends on customers and is based on a number of commercial factors.
One of JBI s best and most loyal customers for years, Saver Superstore, had been approached by a
competitor and may want to negotiate a lower price for its product purchases.
During a meeting held to address the situation Johnson s accountant Jim Thomas presented a compiled
report on customers profitability and profit margin where customer service costs are allocated to
customers as a percentage of revenue. This analysis brought Johnson to the conclusion that Saver
Superstore is not a very profitable customer compared to other client retailers ,that it is one of their
lowest margin customers and he can t consider lowering prices for them.
The operation manager for JBI suggested considering that Saver Superstore is an easy to deal with
partner unlike some other customers that make the business spent a lot of time on their rush orders
.This comment brought Johnson to wonder about the customer service costs structure and allocation
system. The current system allocates these costs based the revenue generated by each customer which
assign a large share to Saver Superstore the biggest one.

A False Appropriate Incident Analysis
An emergency situation can happen anytime, anywhere. It is crucial to evacuate during an emergency
because it saves lives. According to the Department of Homeland Security, evacuations are more
common than many people realize. Fires and floods cause evacuations most frequently across the U.S.
and almost every year, people along coastlines evacuate as hurricanes approach (Department of
Homeland Security). Starting in preschool, children are taught the importance of evacuating buildings
in the event of the alarm going off for an emergency. This practice helps to ingrain it into their
memory that in an emergency situation, you are to leave the building. It does not matter if it is a false

school, we were evacuated due to a French fry getting stuck in the fryer too long and it caused a whole
lot of smoke in the cafeteria. It could have been a whole lot more serious, but thankfully it was not. It
is important to evacuate in all situations because you never know what could actually be going on
until it could be too late. During the Seton Hall fire back in 2000, due to the smoke it was almost
impossible for some students to evacuate. That is a scary thing, and it really demonstrates why
evacuation drills are so important because they familiarize occupants with the route to

Human Trafficking From Latin America To Canada Essay
The trafficking of humans for sexual purposes is being described as modern day slavery. The US State
Department Trafficking in Person s 2008 report ranks Canada as a Tier One country, meaning Canada
is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women and children (SIWSAG, 2009). Although
not a top destination point for human traffickers, a conservative estimate states that approximately 800
people are trafficked into Canada annually. These people (mostly women and children) are transported
into Canada illegally and harboured into bawdy houses and strip clubs across the country. Many of
those who are trafficked come from Latin American countries, where the incredible poverty drives
many into extreme circumstances where they may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The leaders of trafficking rings plan out complex and convoluted methods to first trick the victim, then
get her into the destination country, and finally to keep her complacent enough to stay in that country
and not alert officials. Because of this, conviction of traffickers is very difficult and according to
SIWSAG, the Sex Worker Safety Action Group of Vancouver, there have only ever been five
convictions for domestic sex trafficking in Canada, and no international trafficking convictions
(2009). This shows both a need for more police attention to the matter and better resources for
trafficked women to encourage their escape from bondage and to begin rehabilitation. Women s sexual
exploitation in Latin America is attributed to the gender based social and economic inequalities that
are so prominent in the societies where machismo is an accepted norm. In addition to this, many Latin
American women experience a lack of economic resources, illiteracy, civil strife from political
instability, and abuse within the home. All of this may force women to look for a better life and to
escape their own, making them vulnerable to forces that can exploit their needs. With the the
glamourized images of economic freedom in the Global North making their way onto television
screens throughout the continent, it is not difficult to see how an impoverished and abused mother
from Bogota can be coerced into a waitressing job

The Impact Of Feminism In Crimminism
Women have always played a significant role within a societal context to include wars and politics.
However after decades of fighting for equality, society still has not found itself comfortable with
adjusting to the roles and capabilities of a woman. For centuries men have been seen as the dominate
species, thus emerging a fine line amongst gender roles. This process of thought is something that can
often be depicted amongst criminologist, being that a bulk of society studies by scientist and theorist
alike are conducted solely on males. Thus, neglecting the capabilities or undermining the involvement
of women in crime. As a result of this sexist viewpoint, most individuals conduct their study groups on
men and not women; however some individuals modestly include women from time to time.
Furthermore, the omission of women from criminal studies often gives us a false truth to a theory.
This is because we neglect women based on their physiological nature and not the physical state of the
study. Nevertheless, we are unable to truly understand the impact of feminism within criminology
unless we are able to examine the liberal feminist, Marxist feminist, and the radical feminists.
According to Merriam Webster, feminism is defined as the theory of the political, economic, and
social equality of the sexes or an organized activity on the behalf of women s rights and interest
(Merriam Webster, 2017). Therefore, liberal feminist is the emphasis on women obtaining legal and

Over the past 200 years, there is an emergence and existence of the working class in Canada which
has initiated the capitalist infrastructure (comprising the wage earners and the entrepreneurs) in
Canada and also involving the struggles of the Canadian workers to claim their necessities and
distress. Being the most difficult parts of the twentieth century, there had been very few people who

She examines the consequences of these years for women in their homes and workplaces, and in the
dance halls and in the city court rooms. In her work, Katrina Srigley argues that young women were
central to the labour market and family economies of Depression era. In it she shows how factors such
as gender, race, class and marital status shaped women lives and influenced their job options, family
arrangements, and leisure activities. She talks about women who have been forgotten and whose life
experiences were left unstudied. She also highlights how women have learnt to compromise with the
joys and pains of their live.
Similarities and Differences between the books in relation to the experience of working class women
in Canada in the 1930 s.
As Chapter 1 of Katrina Srigley s Breadwinning Daughters addresses, Young working woman in a

search for jobs in order to assist their families, and also the struggles that they have to go through to
get jobs and work according to it. At that time the scope for employment was scanty and the salaries
of the workers were too low for any family to survive with adequate means. The rate of
unemployment at that time has been 30% and the rate of unemployment for women has been much
higher. Even though the economy of Canada started suffering from the year 1929 to 1939, the

Food And Drinks In Roman Food
Food and drinks played an essential role in the life of a wealthy Roman citizen. Unlike other periods
of time food had an important social impact during Ancient Rome and the daily life of Ceaser.
However in many cultures breakfast, lunch and dinner were the three main courses of the day. A
wealthy citizens breakfast consisted of bread with olives or cheese and lunch was usually quick with
bread, cheese, and fruit (Ermatinger 1). Dinner was their main affair, and the largest meal of the day
(Ermatinger 1). It contained bread, vegetables, olive oil, cheese and meat (Ermatinger 1). Banquets
and feasts were also another elaborate way people would celebrate and enjoy their food (Moulton 27).
How the poor ate was quite unlike the wealthy. They had the duty of finding and preparing their dishes
in order for their families to eat. Wine was the favorite drink for both social classes and consumed
with most meals. The knowledge and responsibility of women in ancient history pertained mainly to
the preparation of food. Today, the writing of ancients and archeologists has given us insight about the
foods that were eaten, and the manner in which they were prepared. Their climate, soil, and terrain of
the region exposed that it was especially good for growing grains, legumes, beans, olive trees, and
grape trees (Moulton 3). Grain was their primary ingredient for making flour, which was used in the
most common foods eaten. Including varieties of bread, porridge, biscuits, and cakes. They

conserves the religious heritage of Africans by denouncing colonialism and imperialism, aligning
herself with Pan Africanism, and reimaging African religious traditions through hoodoo. By observing
Stout s exhibit, Tales of the Conjure Woman, one can see she was heavily influenced by the practice of
hoodoo. According to Merriam Webster, hoodoo is a body of practices of sympathetic magic
traditional especially among blacks in the southern United States (Merriam Webster). One of the main
concepts she focused on her exhibit was colonialism. Colonialism is the control or governing
influence of a nation over a dependent country, territory, or people. Much has happened in terms of the
development of African American religion and African American culture. For example, in American
slavery, Africans were snatched from their own belief systems. When they were brought to America,
they were taught that

Annotated Bibliography On The Library
Introduction:
Library users today are able to meet most their information needs through the sources outside the
library. The ubiquitous access to internet today and the rise of the companies like Google, Amazon and
Wikipedia have provided viable alternatives to users for their information needs. So libraries are
experiencing an evolutionary change in their traditional services. And the rapid evolving digital
technologies can be seen as an opportunity for libraries as their need to evolve in the face of these new
challenges.
Linked Data which works as the framework behind the Semantic Web, an idea developed by Tim
Berners Lee, the inventor of World Wide Web, aims at revolving the Internet into one large database
instead of simply distinct collection of data. Today, where internet has been the first choice for the
users to look for information, libraries should seize the advantage of the concept behind Linked Data.
By attempting to make their resources available on the web, libraries can bring back their users
because of the allure of the high quality and authoritative resources owned by the libraries.
Such technological development can definitely bring a number of benefits to libraries by allowing the
libraries and their resources to connect with their users on the web. Professionals in the field have
considered the use of Linked data technologies for the benefit of Libraries. Many papers have been
written by experts underlying the benefits in the past decade. And

Crime Statistics Of Sex Crimes Against Children
Crime Statistics of Sex Crimes Against Children Studies done by David Finkelhor, Director of the
Crime Against Children Research Center, show that about one in five girls and about one in twenty
boys are victims of child sexual abuse. Over the course of their lifetime, 28% of U.S. youth s aged 14
to 17 have been sexually victimized. According to the 2003 National institute of Justice report three
out of four adolescent children have been sexually violated by someone they knew very well (Child
Abuse Statistics , 2012). The figure below represents children s exposure to violence in 2011 by the
child s age. The graph shows that children from the ages fourteen to seventeen were sexually
victimized the most while children aged zero to one were least exposed sexually (Childrens Exposure
to Violence , 2013).
Typologies In the early 1970 s the first of many child sexual abuse typologies was proposed by .
Figure 2. Rep (Groths Typologies)
Situational Typology The situational sex offender or also commonly known as regressed offender, is
an individual who sexually abuses children due to some sort of external stressor. For the most part
these individuals have normal sexual interest in other adults but may sexually abuse children to help
cope with the extreme stress in their lives. In most cases these stressors include: unemployment,
marital issues, drug abuse, loneliness, or the lack of acceptance by family members or peers (Miller
Laurence, 2013). Their

Black Cat Climax
The Black Cat Plot
The Black Cat is a short and gruesome story by Edgar Allen Poe. The story is about an alcoholic man
whose anger and insanity is rapidly swelling. It increased so much that he decides to unleash it on his
cat, his wife, and later his new cat. His insanity drives him to see all three of them. These crimes, he
said, had consigned me to the hangman. (Poe 7). That means, because he killed them he was sentenced
to death. In a story, the climax is defined as the highest point of interest or turning point. The climax
of this story is when the narrator murders his wife and the cat goes missing. One quote in this story
that shows that this is the climax is when the narrator says that he soundly and tranquilly

content with just running marathons, but insist on running for hundreds of miles at a time instead)
leads him to the depths of Northwestern Mexico in search of the Tarahumara. The Taramuhara are an
invisible, semi mystical tribe consisting of godlike people who are renowned for their long distance

Persuasive Speech On Racism
I haven t had a good rant in a while, and now seems to be a perfectly good time for one. I don t think
in his heart, Trump is a racist he might be a misogynist but not a true racist. I do think his was, and is,
unprepared for the rigors of being the President of the United States of America. I also believe he is a
coward because speak out against inequity but fuels the fire with Building Walls and now the repeal of
DACA. I just taught a class today, 95 percent Hispanic, and many of these students use DACA to get
an education and stay in this country. I have talked to many of these students, and not one of them
came over on their own when they were one or two years of age, but all came here with the parents
who were fleeing economic degradation in Mexico NAFTA to find a better life. They, and their
families, work and pay taxes, buy goods, support our local economy, want to get an education, and
want to become citizens, but the process is too expensive, and time consuming. They are just as
American as you and me. I had a student, who was undocumented, came over when he was one, but
didn t qualify for the Dream Act, so he worked, and put himself through Community College two
classes at a time. I asked him why he doesn t become a citizen (I had just started moved to California,
so this was all new to me). He said he wanted too, but the only way he could do so was to go back to
Mexico for ten years. My family left because of the cartels, he said in tears, I

The Mood Of Sonnet IV Of 100 Love Sonnets By Pablo Neruda
In sonnet IV of 100 Love Sonnets, Pablo Neruda describes a charming memory of him and his lover
as they carelessly wonder through a picturesque and serene landscape. Throughout the poem, Neruda
uses lifelike imagery as well as ambiguous oxymorons to create an idyllic and dreamy mood. The
author exemplifies this in lines 1 2 when he writes, You will remember that leaping stream where
sweet aromas rose and trembled . In this example, Neruda s use of personification of the stream and
aromas enhances the imagery so that the reader can obtain a more detailed image of the scene. This
enforces the idea that the mood is idyllic and dreamy because leaping streams and sweet aromas are
usually phrases that connote a calm and homey feeling or mood.

Tang Dynasty Achievements
Humans have made huge accomplishments throughout history. Many of these accomplishments have
changed the world. Some of these accomplishments have come from dynasties and empires that
wanted to expand their knowledge and ideas. Some of these things have affected other civilizations
after them and some didn t have that much of an impact. A lot of these achievements and
accomplishments are basic things in our everyday lives that these civilizations have took time and
effort to come up with. Ancient China has been one of the numerous places that have made
accomplishments. Many ancient Chinese dynasties have accomplished many things that have affected
the world. The Tang dynasty s accomplishments in art, farming, gunpowder, and literature have ...

Many civilizations made accomplishments in farming but the Tang s accomplishments were very
important. One of the biggest advancements in farming was the three field system. The three field
system was a system in the Tang dynasty where everyone gets enough arable land to farm and produce
food for themselves. This was important because it allowed every family to have a food and it
prevented the very wealthy people from buying up all of the land. In other dynasties and empires, rich
people buying all of the land was a major problem. The Tang wanted to avoid this because they knew
the outcome of having a rich people controlling all of the farming land. The middle class and poor
people wouldn t be able to live and the economy would be very bad. This system gave people land
according to their needs. For example, older people and widows got less land than a man with a
family. (Theobald, 2015) Every adult male was allowed eighty mu, which was a measurement of land,
old and sick people were allowed forty mu, widows received thirty mu, and lower class merchants and
craftsmen got ten mu. This system benefited the economy because since everyone had enough food,
they could specialize in their own crafts like blacksmithing and art. Another benefit from the food
surplus that this system brought is that the government found a new strain of rice that grew much
quicker and was less work to grow. This gave the Tang an

Yellow Ribbon Short Story
Let us use our imagination for a brief moment to connect with these characters to better understand
what the various authors are trying to teach. As I ve illustrated below, figures from the short stories
display exceptional examples of the following lessons. First, pretend to be in a position of loneliness.
Next, imagine decision making, and how others poor decisions can provide a cause and effect. The
three lessons I learned from reading the five stories were loneliness, an absence of love, and the
importance of decision making. The first lesson I would like to emphasize on is loneliness. I love you!
You can t leave me like this (Jones 102)! Is what the widow in Footprints screamed. In that moment of
the story, she is not only struck with sadness but a sudden feeling of intense loneliness. Loneliness is
horrid especially in cases severe as this one. I think this is the lesson the author is trying to teach. In
the story Hate Bracelet the author captures the main character s anguish; in such a manner that it is
disgusting to see Lisa behave the way she does. While Lisa s misery may not all be self inflicted, this
is a perfect illustration of what alienating can cause if sustained for a great length of time. While
reading this next story, I could relate to the seclusion Abigail s mother was giving her. In Yellow
Ribbon the author is educating her readers that forcing isolation on people is atrocious. In my opinion,
the stories I referenced demonstrate great

Narrowcasting Media Bias
In the past twenty years, the United States media has transformed from a broadcasting to a
narrowcasting media. Each method has its unique differences, with one being the amount of bias from
each source. Narrowcasting specifically, can greatly affect the media s ability to influence public
opinion. Broadcasting is media programming that focuses on many genres of television. For instance,
on a broadcasting channel, you can watch a drama, comedy, and news all in the same day. The three
broadcasting networks, known as The Big 3 , are ABC, NBC, and CBS. When these broadcasting
channels present news, they want to stay as close to the middle of the political spectrum as possible.
The goal of a broadcasting channel is to appeal to everyone and the more neutral, fact based
information released, the more views The Big 3 will get, resulting in more money. However,
narrowcasting is media programming that is focused on a particular audience. Examples of
narrowcasting networks include C SPAN, ESPN, Fox News, and CNN. ESPN stands for
Entertainment and Sports Programming Network so they specialize in sports news and cater to the
sports audience. Unlike broadcasting, narrowcasting will not try to appeal to the majority of
Americans, so it can lean left or right on political issues and interject slightly more opinions. ... Show

As stated above, narrowcasting networks appeal to one type of audience, allowing the networks to add
opinions into their reports to keep that one audience interested. For instance, CNN, also known as
Cable News Network, is known for being more liberal whereas Fox News leans more conservative.
This creates bias because if you watch CNN news today, for example, Donald Trump will be
portrayed as an evil being. However, Fox News is known for saying Trump is an outstanding, fantastic
president. Depending on the news network you watch and/or read will affect the opinion of President

  • 2. Advantages Of Anti Dynasty In The Philippines There is political dynasty when members of the same family or clan has dominated or occupied elected positions either in sequence for the same position, or simultaneously across different positions, this is now a problem in Philippine politics that the government itself cannot solve. Why? Because majority of the people seated in position are members of political dynasties. They want to stay in office because of the strong desire for power, greed, and authority. But why are they still seated even though we have the power to vote? When almost all of us are aware that they come from the same dynasty? We cannot blame the Filipino people for that. Because these people are so greedy that they use their money, influence, and wealth to exploit our votes. In that way, they will dominate politics. I would try to lay down some reasons why I am in favor of passing an anti dynasty law here in the Philippines. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In his statement, There is something inherently wrong in giving a corrupt family or individual the chance at an indefinite monopoly in public office... I believe it is now time to pass an Anti Dynasty Law. I strongly agree with this statement. It is now time that political dynasties should come to a stop. First, it is unconstitutional. According to Article II Section 26 of the 1987 Constitution:The State shall guarantee equal access to opportunities for public service, and prohibit political dynasties as may be defined by law. With this we can understand that political dynasty should not be tolerated because it is a crime, it does not abide the Law of the land. With political dynasties existing, equal access to opportunities has been deprived from those who have the passion to hold public ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How To Write An Essay About The Alchemist The bestseller novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is known by many people for its valuable lessons and ideas. However, I am not one of these people as I am not fond of this book. Opinion: The Alchemist uses elements of magical fantasy that aren t familiar to me, thrilling and action packed events are not present, and I do not agree with some of the lessons that the book portrays. Components of magical fantasy are used in the novel that I don t understand. Omens, Universal Languages, and mysterious forces aren t principles that I consider in my daily life and therefore they aren t familiar to me. For example, Santiago uses Omens as signs that guide him throughout life. Omens are not a concept that I have learned about until reading this novel. These signals do not make much sense to me, seeming much too coincidental to be real. Santiago also connects things in his life through Universal Languages, such as the desert and the caravan. However, a language that is universal or a language between inanimate things doesn t exist in real life, making it hard for a reader to imagine such a thing. Finally, in the novel, there are mysterious forces that teach people of their personal legends, such as the King was to Santiago. It does make sense for people to realize their dreams and goals through experiences or people. This isn t the case always in the novel, instead, specific forces inform people of their ... This quotes, by a famous British Naval Officer, summarizes the threats nuclear weapons present to the entire world. With the development of the atomic bomb during the Second World War, a new war was started: the Cold War. The ideology behind this war continues on to this day and has led to many treaties and other attempts to stop the production and potential use of nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are a scientifically impressive feat; however, they present a difficult situation in terms of the global political system. Critical mass is the smallest mass required for chain reaction fission to take place. The implosion type design requires a specialized, sophisticated arrangement of explosives to fire simultaneously from all direction to the pit, or center of the weapon, in this case plutonium (CTBTO, n.d.). However, these designs are not used by modern countries, who instead use thermonuclear weapons of 1,000X the strength in tons. A typical fission weapon has a blast of about 20 kilotons (20,000 tons of TNT), whereas thermonuclear weapons can have a yield up to 50 megatons (Nuclear Weapon Archive, 2007). The first thermonuclear weapons date back to the 1950s. The reason thermonuclear weapons have such a larger yield is due to their 2 part design. The primary part is based off of fission. Plutonium 239 is used in an implosion type fission weapon to start the fusion reaction at the center of the plutonium (which is filled with hydrogen gas). The fission part of the weapon then serves to start the fusion part of the bomb. By igniting the spark plug of either plutonium or uranium, surrounding the lithium deuteride (a Lithium Hydride with a deuterium hydrogen), the metal undergoes fission, creating enough heat for fusion to occur in the deuterium (Nelson and Gronlund, 2009). There are numerous different types of thermonuclear weapons, such as the two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

David Webb Research Paper 71 year old volunteer David Webb is hard at work a McKenzie River Trust site; pruning and stomping on a thick patch of invasive blackberry which threatens to overtake a clearing of vulnerable native plants. Sweat dribbles down from under his faded Husqvarna baseball cap. He stops to briefly wipe the sweat off his brow. Between the beating sun and the physical exertion he starts to show signs of fatigue. It is clear however, that being outdoors and taking care of nature is what he wants to be doing. All his life, Webb has had a special connection with nature. Growing up in Illinois he would spend a lot of his freetime on the 5 acres of forest behind his house. His family would regularly go on camping trips and hike through some of the most iconic national parks of the United States. The technology and its contribution to patient care still fascinate me. X rays or radiography, as it is known in medicine allow for looking inside a body and identifying everything from broken bones to swallowed objects. The tool is vital to the ability to diagnose and treat injuries. Radiologic technology encompasses a wide spectrum of specialties, from radiographers (who produce 3 D and 2 D images of bones, organs and vessels) to radiation therapists (who administer customized forms of radiation to treat cancer and other diseases). This classification includes UAVs that have a maximum weight of approximately 0 20 pounds. These two classifications of Group 1 UAVs are Micro and Nano UAVs. On average Micro/Nano UAVs has a low speed, small size, weight, and low operating altitude. They weigh as little as 100 grams (Qassim, 2014), which limits their capability to carry large payloads, airspeed and normal operating altitude. Group four is also a large UAV which is similar to group 3. The one major gap that group four has its weight, which can be greater than 1320 and its ability to fly at any airspeed up to 18000 MSL. Lastly group 5 which is the largest UAS technology. It has a maximum Gross Takeoff weight of 1320 pounds and has the capability to fly over 18000 MSL at any airspeed (Qassim, 2014). UAVs may be fixed wing aircraft, or rotary wing aircraft. Each type comes with own advantage and disadvantage. The fixed wing can have higher endurance since it can glide. Although it has the upper hand in endurance, it is not agile enough for delivery or any kind contraband usage. On the other hand the Rotary wing has agility since it has the ability to hover and maneuver in a confined area. Major Drug Companies Taking Hefty Price Increases Essay NEW YORK (Reuters) Major drug companies took hefty price increases in the U.S., in some cases more than doubling listed charges, for widely used medications over the past five years, a Reuters analysis of proprietary data found. Prices for four of the nation s top 10 drugs increased more than 100 percent since 2011, Reuters found. Six others went up more than 50 percent. Together, the price increases on drugs for arthritis, high cholesterol, asthma and other common problems added billions in costs for consumers, employers and government health programs. Extraordinary price hikes by two small companies, Turing Pharmaceuticals and Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc , drew new attention to drug costs. Turing expected to book $200 million by raising the price of Daraprim, an antiparasitic used for a rare infection, by 5,000 percent, according to company documents released by Congressional investigators. Routine price increases by bigger players may draw less attention, but they add up. Sales for the top 10 drugs went up 44 percent to $54 million in 2014, from 2011, even though prescriptions for the medications dropped 22 percent, according to IMS Health data. At the top of the list was AbbVie Inc , which raised the price of arthritis drug Humira more than 126 percent, Reuters found. Acquisition Of ( Conrail ) Consolidated Rail Corporation CASE: ACQUISITION OF (Conrail) CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION (50 MARKS) Question 1: Reason for reference to Conrail as a scarce jewel ? (4mks) Conrail had its operations within the Northeast market, a rail network that other rail companies were yet to explore. It connected the Northeastern cities to the Midwestern and Southern cities. Even though Conrail had a high cost position, the revenue it obtains relative per mile track operated is the highest, giving it a high operating ratio, hence potential to increase income. For this reason, great synergies would be created should there be a merger with CSX, Norfolk Southern or any other rail company at all. Additionally, analysts view that either company that would get the merger with Conrail might reduce business for the other company or lead to its collapse. This reference as a scarce jewel is further exhibited in the wars that arose after CSX and Conrail announced their intentions to form a merger. These wars are in form of the offers made to Conrail that ended up in a lawsuit by Norfolk Southern to stop the Conrail CSX merger. Question two: Motives in acquiring Conrail for; CSX (3.5mks) Creation of synergy CSX wanted to have an economic advantage in terms of operational efficiency and increased capital. Our group divided the work by, assigning people jobs, then switching after a while. An example of that some people would score and other group members would fold, or some would build and others would test, and we took turns switching jobs. Something surprising we learned during construction is that it is very hard to make turns out of paper. Something else that went well for our group was making a bucket load of materials before we started really making the roller coaster. Another thing that went well for us was using a very strong foundation and structure before starting on the track. Also, we had to reinforce the structure when the roller coaster started wobbling a bit. The pulley was a bit of a challenge because it was hard to make and we ran out of string many times. We had to use much thicker string which held the pulley together, but created too much friction. Lastly, after we spray painted it, parts of the roller coaster started falling apart, like the pulley. Fixed the kinks in the roller coaster, and our finished product was Marbolous! In our construction our group would change how we constructed the pulley, the crooked columns, and the lack of sloping nearing the end. The main problem we had with the pulley, was the ... During a meeting held to address the situation Johnson s accountant Jim Thomas presented a compiled report on customers profitability and profit margin where customer service costs are allocated to customers as a percentage of revenue. This analysis brought Johnson to the conclusion that Saver Superstore is not a very profitable customer compared to other client retailers ,that it is one of their lowest margin customers and he can t consider lowering prices for them. The operation manager for JBI suggested considering that Saver Superstore is an easy to deal with partner unlike some other customers that make the business spent a lot of time on their rush orders .This comment brought Johnson to wonder about the customer service costs structure and allocation system. The US State Department Trafficking in Person s 2008 report ranks Canada as a Tier One country, meaning Canada is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women and children (SIWSAG, 2009). Although not a top destination point for human traffickers, a conservative estimate states that approximately 800 people are trafficked into Canada annually. The leaders of trafficking rings plan out complex and convoluted methods to first trick the victim, then get her into the destination country, and finally to keep her complacent enough to stay in that country and not alert officials. Because of this, conviction of traffickers is very difficult and according to SIWSAG, the Sex Worker Safety Action Group of Vancouver, there have only ever been five convictions for domestic sex trafficking in Canada, and no international trafficking convictions (2009). This shows both a need for more police attention to the matter and better resources for trafficked women to encourage their escape from bondage and to begin rehabilitation. Women s sexual exploitation in Latin America is attributed to the gender based social and economic inequalities that are so prominent in the societies where machismo is an accepted norm. In addition to this, many Latin American women experience a lack of economic resources, illiteracy, civil strife from political instability, and abuse within the home. All of this may force women to look for a better life and to escape their own, making them vulnerable to forces that can exploit their needs. However after decades of fighting for equality, society still has not found itself comfortable with adjusting to the roles and capabilities of a woman. For centuries men have been seen as the dominate species, thus emerging a fine line amongst gender roles. This process of thought is something that can often be depicted amongst criminologist, being that a bulk of society studies by scientist and theorist alike are conducted solely on males. Thus, neglecting the capabilities or undermining the involvement of women in crime. As a result of this sexist viewpoint, most individuals conduct their study groups on men and not women; however some individuals modestly include women from time to time. Furthermore, the omission of women from criminal studies often gives us a false truth to a theory. This is because we neglect women based on their physiological nature and not the physical state of the study. Nevertheless, we are unable to truly understand the impact of feminism within criminology unless we are able to examine the liberal feminist, Marxist feminist, and the radical feminists. According to Merriam Webster, feminism is defined as the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes or an organized activity on the behalf of women s rights and interest (Merriam Webster, 2017). Therefore, liberal feminist is the emphasis on women obtaining legal and political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Mood Of Sonnet IV Of 100 Love Sonnets By Pablo Neruda In sonnet IV of 100 Love Sonnets, Pablo Neruda describes a charming memory of him and his lover as they carelessly wonder through a picturesque and serene landscape. Throughout the poem, Neruda uses lifelike imagery as well as ambiguous oxymorons to create an idyllic and dreamy mood. The author exemplifies this in lines 1 2 when he writes, You will remember that leaping stream where sweet aromas rose and trembled . In this example, Neruda s use of personification of the stream and aromas enhances the imagery so that the reader can obtain a more detailed image of the scene. Many civilizations made accomplishments in farming but the Tang s accomplishments were very important. One of the biggest advancements in farming was the three field system. The three field system was a system in the Tang dynasty where everyone gets enough arable land to farm and produce food for themselves. This was important because it allowed every family to have a food and it prevented the very wealthy people from buying up all of the land. In other dynasties and empires, rich people buying all of the land was a major problem. The Tang wanted to avoid this because they knew the outcome of having a rich people controlling all of the farming land. The middle class and poor people wouldn t be able to live and the economy would be very bad. This system gave people land according to their needs. For example, older people and widows got less land than a man with a family. (Theobald, 2015) Every adult male was allowed eighty mu, which was a measurement of land, old and sick people were allowed forty mu, widows received thirty mu, and lower class merchants and craftsmen got ten mu. This system benefited the economy because since everyone had enough food, they could specialize in their own crafts like blacksmithing and art. • 30. Yellow Ribbon Short Story Let us use our imagination for a brief moment to connect with these characters to better understand what the various authors are trying to teach. As I ve illustrated below, figures from the short stories display exceptional examples of the following lessons. First, pretend to be in a position of loneliness. Next, imagine decision making, and how others poor decisions can provide a cause and effect. The three lessons I learned from reading the five stories were loneliness, an absence of love, and the importance of decision making. The first lesson I would like to emphasize on is loneliness. I love you! You can t leave me like this (Jones 102)! Is what the widow in Footprints screamed. In that moment of the story, she is not only struck with sadness but a sudden feeling of intense loneliness. Loneliness is horrid especially in cases severe as this one. I think this is the lesson the author is trying to teach. In the story Hate Bracelet the author captures the main character s anguish; in such a manner that it is disgusting to see Lisa behave the way she does. While Lisa s misery may not all be self inflicted, this is a perfect illustration of what alienating can cause if sustained for a great length of time. While reading this next story, I could relate to the seclusion Abigail s mother was giving her. In Yellow Ribbon the author is educating her readers that forcing isolation on people is atrocious. In my opinion, the stories I referenced demonstrate great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Narrowcasting Media Bias In the past twenty years, the United States media has transformed from a broadcasting to a narrowcasting media. Each method has its unique differences, with one being the amount of bias from each source. Narrowcasting specifically, can greatly affect the media s ability to influence public opinion. Broadcasting is media programming that focuses on many genres of television. For instance, on a broadcasting channel, you can watch a drama, comedy, and news all in the same day. The three broadcasting networks, known as The Big 3 , are ABC, NBC, and CBS. When these broadcasting channels present news, they want to stay as close to the middle of the political spectrum as possible. The goal of a broadcasting channel is to appeal to everyone and the more neutral, fact based information released, the more views The Big 3 will get, resulting in more money. However, narrowcasting is media programming that is focused on a particular audience. Examples of narrowcasting networks include C SPAN, ESPN, Fox News, and CNN. ESPN stands for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network so they specialize in sports news and cater to the sports audience. Unlike broadcasting, narrowcasting will not try to appeal to the majority of Americans, so it can lean left or right on political issues and interject slightly more opinions. ...
