Business Opportunity
There are many humanitarian organizations like Red Cross
established in order to provide emergency assistance and the
alleviation of human suffering. However, it is impossible to
give a hand to everyone in need, and sometimes the
organizations might be involved in corruptions by gathering
huge amount of money but using in another way instead of
helping others. People do not know where the money go/ to be
used, or the exact person they helped. In addition, the poor
cannot get help from the organization due to the limited
channel. Meantime, generally speaking, most people do not
know where to donate the money or would not take action
without the call of certain entities including schools and
companies.
Solution
Therefore, we create this App aims to provide a platform for
both those who want to donate money (or to give a hand to the
poor) and those who in need especially for the medical
treatment. The app is linked to social media like Facebook so
that the donation request will be widely and quickly spread
through word of mouth due to the strong relationship network
via social media. In the meantime, the app will require those
who want to collect money to provide all kinds of certifications
including ID, medical records, medical expense receipts etc.,
Consequently, they are able to know where their money exactly
to be used and the person who gets benefits from their donation.
On the other side, it is possible for the poor to get donation
based on social networks.

Viability
Our company earns money mainly through advertisement.
Basically, people who use our Open Arms app to publish
information, seek for help and get fundraising, we would charge
him/her from the fundraising he/she collected. Also, we will
collaborate with some fashion and social media brand to make
special editions to sell. From that, we earn part of money and
donate the rest of it.
Creativity/Originality
We create this App aims to provide a platform for both those
who want to donate money (or to give a hand to the poor) and
those who in need especially for the medical treatment. The app
is linked to social media like Facebook so that the donation
request will be widely and quickly spread through word of
mouth due to the strong relationship network via social media.
In the meantime, the app will require those who want to collect
money to provide all kinds of certifications including ID,

User Interface
1. Sign Up process
If user already have an account, he/she can enter the account
number and password, and directly get to the app’s home page.
If not, let’s sign up first. You can choose either sign up with
your mobile number or email address. Then, enter your name
and password, you have an Open Arms account. It’s very
simple, straightforward and easy to handle. We abandon some
certain “complicated” sign up process, and make it as simple
and easy as we can, just in case the user may not good at
handling smart-phone or other electronic devices. One thing that
worth noticed is the user always have a chance to go back if
he/she suddenly realized that he/she already have an account.
We create a “Already have an account?” link and provide such a
convenience to user, this link would take user to the first page,
where they can enter the account number and password.
2. Home Page
Two Payment Option (donate single/multiple person)
The home page of Open Arms app is a list of fundraisers general
information, including the title, their photos, goals and part of
the “details”. By clicking one person in the list, it would turn to
the page of fundraiser’s information in detail.
On the home page, there are some red button with “+” sign on
the right side of the list, this is created for users’ convenience.
When user are viewing those fundraisers’ information, they may
want to help more than one person at a time. So they can click
the red “+” sign, add them to a “shopping cart”, actually
appears as “Help Them!” button on the left-down side of the
screen. It’s another way of finishing your “payment”. And in
this process, because it has more than one person who needs
help and the money the user enter might be different, so we
have review page for user to have a chance to make sure before
they pay.
Create a profile & My Account
Still on the home page, near the “Help Them!” button, there is
“Initial Fundraising” and “My Account” button. By clicking
“Initial Fundraising” button, the user jumps to the “Start A
Fundraiser” page. The user can create new profile on this page
by entering the fundraising goal, title, information in detail and
insert/upload some photos which would increase credibility. On
the “My Account” page, it basically includes all the information
the user has on our Open Arms app, which contains user’s
name, account information, donate history, payment method
(saved by user), rewards and as well as sign out.
Bookmark & Share
The bookmark appears as a star on the left side of the “Help
Them!” button, which user can click and save this profile for
some reason user may have.
The “Share” button on the right is our Open Arms team creates
for our users and let them can share the profile to their friends.
The social media we corporate are Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
and Snapchat. Once the user click one of the logo on the page, a
profile’s URL is created as well as the pictures would pop-up
with a button “Share To My Friend”, just click it, it would share
this link to user’s social media account automatically.
Where the fundraising go?
As the Open Arms app is a fundraising app, cash flow becomes
the biggest activity in the day to day operation in the app. It’s
very important for us and people who donate the money to know
where the money goes or how the money would be used. So we
create “Where fundraising go?” page for users and let them have
a general sense of how their money would be used.
Social Media Integration
We corporate with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat,
which people can share the profile link to those social media
(include URL and photos), and tell their friends that “hey, I
helped this person, and he needs our help”. By using
individual’s social network to help more and more people. So
how it works? First of all, the user should connect his/her social
media account to the Open Arms app if they want to use the
“Share” function. Then, basically, there is a small “Share”
button on the right-down side of the screen. By clicking that, it
would take user to a “Share To Your Friend” page, which
contains several social media logos, as it said before, twitter,
Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Each logo on this page is
clickable. Once click it, a profile’s URL and pictures would
pop-up with a button “Share with My Friend”, just click it, it
would share this link on your social media page automatically.
Aesthetics
Our app’s aesthetics is based on the simple style and we try to
make every user get intuitive understanding of every step they
make through those concise sentences, clear illustration and
simple interface. It is quite important that attracting users and
keeping them stay with a comfortable and neat looking of
overall interface. Also, we use light color in our app’s
background while we choose warm-toned red to emphasize some
notable signs. Otherwise, for the logo, we apply simple and
smooth lines to build a picture of “arm” which is relative to our
app’s name.

Positive:
· Direction of each process is clear
· Adding multiple order in shopping cart is great
· Have several sign up method including phone number and
email address
· It presents a far less daunting interface
· Love the design of home page
Negative:
· No page for people who already have account
· No “link” under the policy (it doesn’t have to be a real link,
but just show people there is a policy with link, which you can
look at it)
· Account setting is a little bit confuse, need more personal
identification in order to certify users
· No address information requirement while filling the payment
method
· Question mark should be removed, and maybe underline the
sign in.
· Should add forget your password under sign in.
· Don’t know the use of some buttons when first time use such
as the” heart” button
· Don’t know what the overview use for in the my account page
Things can be improve:
1. could create a tutorial for new users to make a better
understanding for the use of each button
2. create a button for people who forgets his password
3. give more log in choices such as log in with gmail, linkedin
or Facebook
4. let users send messages to donee or let them leave comments
under their description
Gamification
We could provide some rewards to encourage people to donate.
There are some ideas. First one, we will provide rewards to
people who share the website link on their social media and
give some rewards to people when they first time donate money.
Sometimes, we will make some events. For instance, our
company will donate some money to specific people or
organization which needs relatively big amount of money. The
amount of money we donate to the people/organization depends
on the amount of people share the link on social media.

Open Arms Inc., Report Dr. Business Opportunity There are many humanitarian organizations like Red Cross established in order to provide emergency assistance and the alleviation of human suffering. However, it is impossible to give a hand to everyone in need, and sometimes the organizations might be involved in corruptions by gathering huge amount of money but using in another way instead of helping others. People do not know where the money go/ to be used, or the exact person they helped. In addition, the poor cannot get help from the organization due to the limited channel. Meantime, generally speaking, most people do not know where to donate the money or would not take action without the call of certain entities including schools and companies.

Solution Therefore, we create this App aims to provide a platform for both those who want to donate money (or to give a hand to the poor) and those who in need especially for the medical treatment. The app is linked to social media like Facebook so that the donation request will be widely and quickly spread through word of mouth due to the strong relationship network via social media. In the meantime, the app will require those who want to collect money to provide all kinds of certifications including ID, medical records, medical expense receipts etc., Consequently, they are able to know where their money exactly to be used and the person who gets benefits from their donation. Basically, people who use our Open Arms app to publish information, seek for help and get fundraising, we would charge him/her from the fundraising he/she collected. Also, we will collaborate with some fashion and social media brand to make special editions to sell. From that, we earn part of money and donate the rest of it. Creativity/Originality We create this App aims to provide a platform for both those who want to donate money (or to give a hand to the poor) and those who in need especially for the medical treatment. Sign Up process If user already have an account, he/she can enter the account number and password, and directly get to the app’s home page. If not, let’s sign up first. You can choose either sign up with your mobile number or email address. Then, enter your name and password, you have an Open Arms account. It’s very simple, straightforward and easy to handle. We abandon some certain “complicated” sign up process, and make it as simple and easy as we can, just in case the user may not good at handling smart-phone or other electronic devices. One thing that worth noticed is the user always have a chance to go back if he/she suddenly realized that he/she already have an account. We create a “Already have an account?” link and provide such a convenience to user, this link would take user to the first page, where they can enter the account number and password.

Home Page Two Payment Option (donate single/multiple person) The home page of Open Arms app is a list of fundraisers general information, including the title, their photos, goals and part of the “details”. By clicking one person in the list, it would turn to the page of fundraiser’s information in detail. On the home page, there are some red button with “+” sign on the right side of the list, this is created for users’ convenience.
  • 8. When user are viewing those fundraisers’ information, they may want to help more than one person at a time. So they can click the red “+” sign, add them to a “shopping cart”, actually appears as “Help Them!” button on the left-down side of the screen. It’s another way of finishing your “payment”. And in this process, because it has more than one person who needs help and the money the user enter might be different, so we have review page for user to have a chance to make sure before they pay. Create a profile & My Account Still on the home page, near the “Help Them!” button, there is “Initial Fundraising” and “My Account” button. By clicking “Initial Fundraising” button, the user jumps to the “Start A Fundraiser” page. The user can create new profile on this page by entering the fundraising goal, title, information in detail and insert/upload some photos which would increase credibility. On the “My Account” page, it basically includes all the information the user has on our Open Arms app, which contains user’s name, account information, donate history, payment method (saved by user), rewards and as well as sign out.
  • 9. Bookmark & Share The bookmark appears as a star on the left side of the “Help Them!” button, which user can click and save this profile for some reason user may have. The “Share” button on the right is our Open Arms team creates for our users and let them can share the profile to their friends. The social media we corporate are Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Once the user click one of the logo on the page, a profile’s URL is created as well as the pictures would pop-up with a button “Share To My Friend”, just click it, it would share this link to user’s social media account automatically. Where the fundraising go? As the Open Arms app is a fundraising app, cash flow becomes the biggest activity in the day to day operation in the app. It’s very important for us and people who donate the money to know where the money goes or how the money would be used. So we create “Where fundraising go?” page for users and let them have a general sense of how their money would be used.

Social Media Integration We corporate with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, which people can share the profile link to those social media (include URL and photos), and tell their friends that “hey, I helped this person, and he needs our help”. By using individual’s social network to help more and more people. So how it works? First of all, the user should connect his/her social media account to the Open Arms app if they want to use the “Share” function. Then, basically, there is a small “Share” button on the right-down side of the screen. By clicking that, it would take user to a “Share To Your Friend” page, which contains several social media logos, as it said before, twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Each logo on this page is clickable. Once click it, a profile’s URL and pictures would pop-up with a button “Share with My Friend”, just click it, it would share this link on your social media page automatically.

Aesthetics Our app’s aesthetics is based on the simple style and we try to make every user get intuitive understanding of every step they make through those concise sentences, clear illustration and simple interface. It is quite important that attracting users and keeping them stay with a comfortable and neat looking of overall interface. Also, we use light color in our app’s background while we choose warm-toned red to emphasize some notable signs. Otherwise, for the logo, we apply simple and smooth lines to build a picture of “arm” which is relative to our app’s name.   • 12. · No “link” under the policy (it doesn’t have to be a real link, but just show people there is a policy with link, which you can look at it) · Account setting is a little bit confuse, need more personal identification in order to certify users · No address information requirement while filling the payment method · Question mark should be removed, and maybe underline the sign in. · Should add forget your password under sign in. · Don’t know the use of some buttons when first time use such as the” heart” button · Don’t know what the overview use for in the my account page Things can be improve: 1. could create a tutorial for new users to make a better understanding for the use of each button 2. create a button for people who forgets his password 3. give more log in choices such as log in with gmail, linkedin or Facebook 4. let users send messages to donee or let them leave comments under their description Gamification We could provide some rewards to encourage people to donate.

Sometimes, we will make some events. For instance, our company will donate some money to specific people or organization which needs relatively big amount of money.
