3. INTRODUCTION
• SWACH BHARAT MISSION is a campaign in
India that aims to clean up the streets, roads &
infrastructure of Indian cities, town & rural areas.
• The slogan of the mission is ‘one step towards
cleanliness’.
It aims to achieve an open defecation free (ODF)
India by 2 October, 2019.

and healthy environment which will help us to avoid

7. WHAT IS GROUP MEETING ?
“An act or process of coming together”
A meeting is a gathering of two or more
people that has been convened for the
purpose of achieving a common goal through
verbal interaction such as sharing information.

Making people aware about the issue
Plan to cope up with the issues
To have interpersonal communication

9. PROCESS OF GROUP MEETING
• Identification of place .
• Mobilization of people.
• Discussion about the issue.
• Generating awareness.

10. OBSERVATION
• There were around 17 village people in meeting
including old aged, women, men & children.
• Although people hesitated in the initial stage but
as the discussion went on ,they started to discuss
freely.
• It was observed that out of the 17 members only
2 was having separate toilet and rest used to go
for open defecation.
• Most People blamed Pradhan and government
for not having toilets. .

11. ANALYSIS
• Large no. of people go for open defecation
because they think there is nothing wrong in this
practice.
• Some females does not wish to go but they have
no other choice
• Despite of having well built cemented house
people had not built toilets in their houses
because they are not concerned and never gave
worth to his serious issue.

12. EVALUATION
• There is always debate that better education,
health, and employment facility should be
provided by the government.
• At the same time, people are still having pathetic
condition because of practices like open
defecation still prevailing in our nation.
• Everything can’t be blame on government.
• As a professional social worker we all have to
sensitize the people about this serious issue.
Mindset and perception of the people need to be
modified.
