INTRODUCTION
• Grown up educated girls can play an important
role in the development of their country.
• Girls education is necessary for making homes a
happy place.
• Educated girls can brighten the future of their
country by the good upbringing of their children.
• Education empower a grown up girl to become
economically independent.
• Education of rural girls is equally important.
• Gender parity index (GPI) in India was 1.07
(UNESCO 2015 survey)
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
• Bhimgarhi is situated in Block- Jawan of tehsil Koil,
district Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
• Bhimgarhi is located 13km away from the headquarter of
the district.
• Dominant caste of the community are Jatav and Thakur.
• Total population people-1372
Female population-634
Male population-738
• There are about 259 houses in Bhimgarhi village.
• Literacy rate 68.23%
Female literacy rate -53.39%
Male literacy rate- 80.71%
(census report, 2011)
WHAT IS GROUP MEETING?
“An act or process of coming together”
A meeting is a gathering of two or more people
that has been convened for the purpose of
achieving a common goal through verbal
interaction such as sharing information. Group
meeting is the tool of generating awareness.
OBJECTIVES
• To enquire about the issues regarding the girls
education.
• Making parents aware about the importance of
girls education.
• Inform the members about the govt. schemes for
girls education .
• Inform them about the govt. scholarship
schemes.
PROCESS
• Identification of place .
• Mobilization of people.
• Discussion about the issue.
• Generating awareness about-
 Beti bachao ,Beti padhao
 Right to education Act, 2009
 Sarv Siksha Abhiyan
 Sukanya Samridhi Yojana
 Balika Samridhi Yojana
 Bhagyalakshmi Yojana
OBSERVATION AND ANALYSIS
• There is only one govt. primary school in the community.
• Mostly people are sending their children to primary
school.
• But girls dropouts are more in numbers because there is
no secondary education center in the community .
• In the community, most of the girls get married in
teenage.
• The literacy rate of the community is low especially of
girls.
• Most of the community members wants to educate their
girl child but there are so many resistance (financial
problems , security issues and transportation problem).

• A female member named Indravati stated
that,“bhook mitane ko paisa nhi hai, bachhon ko
kaise bahar pdhane bhejen”.
• From the statement this can be analyzed that mostly
the community members are daily wage workers , its
gets difficult for them to fulfill their basic needs.
• Mostly girls are engaged in household activities.
• A female respondent said that “chhori hain , roti hi
to banani hain kya karegi MA BA pdh k”.
• Community members feel threat for their girls child
in sending outside for study.
• An elderly female respondent stated that “aapni ijjat
apne hath , jawan chori hain , ghatna ghatne me
kitni derr lagti hai, waise hi zamana bahot gadbad
hai.”
SOCIAL WORK APPLICATION
• Principles of social work.
• Interpersonal communication (skill).
• Information Education Communication(skill).
CHALLENGES FACED
• Time consumed in identification of suitable place .
• During this season , people are engaged in their
agricultural activities. This is the major hindrance
in mobilizing people.
• Group meeting attracted community children
which cause disturbance in the meeting.
• Members discussing other problems which cause
in lose of objectivity.
EVALUATION
• Group meeting is one of the most important tool
of the interaction with two or more people.
• Through this group meeting we created the
awareness and motivate the girls for higher
education.
•Meeting was successful and informative.
• Awareness programs should be held in different
ways in regular interval of time .

INTRODUCTION • Grown up educated girls can play an important role in the development of their country. • Girls education is necessary for making homes a happy place. • Educated girls can brighten the future of their country by the good upbringing of their children. • Education empower a grown up girl to become economically independent. • Education of rural girls is equally important. • Gender parity index (GPI) in India was 1.07 (UNESCO 2015 survey)

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY • Bhimgarhi is situated in Block- Jawan of tehsil Koil, district Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. • Bhimgarhi is located 13km away from the headquarter of the district. • Dominant caste of the community are Jatav and Thakur. • Total population people-1372 Female population-634 Male population-738 • There are about 259 houses in Bhimgarhi village. • Literacy rate 68.23% Female literacy rate -53.39% Male literacy rate- 80.71% (census report, 2011)
  • 5. WHAT IS GROUP MEETING? “An act or process of coming together” A meeting is a gathering of two or more people that has been convened for the purpose of achieving a common goal through verbal interaction such as sharing information. Group meeting is the tool of generating awareness.
  • 6. OBJECTIVES • To enquire about the issues regarding the girls education. • Making parents aware about the importance of girls education. • Inform the members about the govt. schemes for girls education . • Inform them about the govt. scholarship schemes.
  • 7. PROCESS • Identification of place . • Mobilization of people. • Discussion about the issue. • Generating awareness about-  Beti bachao ,Beti padhao  Right to education Act, 2009  Sarv Siksha Abhiyan  Sukanya Samridhi Yojana  Balika Samridhi Yojana  Bhagyalakshmi Yojana

OBSERVATION AND ANALYSIS • There is only one govt. primary school in the community. • Mostly people are sending their children to primary school. • But girls dropouts are more in numbers because there is no secondary education center in the community . • In the community, most of the girls get married in teenage. • The literacy rate of the community is low especially of girls. • Most of the community members wants to educate their girl child but there are so many resistance (financial problems , security issues and transportation problem). cont..
  • 9. • A female member named Indravati stated that,“bhook mitane ko paisa nhi hai, bachhon ko kaise bahar pdhane bhejen”. • From the statement this can be analyzed that mostly the community members are daily wage workers , its gets difficult for them to fulfill their basic needs. • Mostly girls are engaged in household activities. • A female respondent said that “chhori hain , roti hi to banani hain kya karegi MA BA pdh k”. • Community members feel threat for their girls child in sending outside for study. • An elderly female respondent stated that “aapni ijjat apne hath , jawan chori hain , ghatna ghatne me kitni derr lagti hai, waise hi zamana bahot gadbad hai.”
  • 10. SOCIAL WORK APPLICATION • Principles of social work. • Interpersonal communication (skill). • Information Education Communication(skill).
  • 11. CHALLENGES FACED • Time consumed in identification of suitable place . • During this season , people are engaged in their agricultural activities. This is the major hindrance in mobilizing people. • Group meeting attracted community children which cause disturbance in the meeting. • Members discussing other problems which cause in lose of objectivity.
  • 12. EVALUATION • Group meeting is one of the most important tool of the interaction with two or more people. • Through this group meeting we created the awareness and motivate the girls for higher education. •Meeting was successful and informative. • Awareness programs should be held in different ways in regular interval of time .
