Many people today would say the United States, once again, stuck their nose into a war when it should
not have. Is this just another record of accomplishment for the United States or the history behind
wars or the history of wars repeating themself? Why does the United States government approve of
another ruler or president of another country but 20 30 years later, they either are creating a coop or
creating a war to over throw the ruler of that country?

According to James Clawson Level Three of Leadership 5th edition, there are 6 steps to effective
leadership. Those steps are Clarifying your center, Clarifying what s possible, Clarifying what others
can contribute, supporting others so they can contribute, being relentless, and measuring and
celebrating the progress. In the 1986 film Hoosiers there is a coach by the name of Norman Dale.
Norman Dale was a college coach who was hired by the principal Cletus Summers to take the place of
the basketball coach that had passed away. Norman Dale and Cletus Summers meet many years ago at
a teacher college, Summer tracked Dale down and offer him the coaching position. Throughout the
movie Dale demonstrate these six characteristic of leadership once he was hired to coach the Hickory
High school basketball team.
When Dale accepted the position as coach and history and civics teacher thought he would be
welcome with open arms. When he got to the high school he stop a teacher to ask her where the
principal office was, she told him that the office was up the stairs and she thought they were hiring a

and palliative care nurses for advice. However, they may not know what to do, may not fully
understand what to expect or may not fully grasp the situation, thus a 999 emergency call is often

I began my placement in the In Patient Unit (IPU), shadowing the clinical ward manager and nurses,
as well as accompanying the consultant on ward rounds.
Ambulance clinicians often do not know their patients, so to observe a patient discussing their
treatment allowed me to gain a deeper insight into their feelings and wishes behind their decision. This
was eloquently expressed with ...there s no point being alive if you don t feel you are by a particular
patient in regards to their pain relief regime.
By spending time in IPU, I hoped to gain a better understanding of the process of death from
recognising the final hours of life, death, and communicating with the family. A patient was identified
to me by the consultant on ward rounds as approaching death. I was asked to observe the signs from
the patient, so these could be discussed with the doctor in depth. Some of the signs identified were a
cachexic appearance, terminal agitation, Cheyne stokes respiration and reduced alertness. Over the
next few hours the patient was monitored closely until they died that afternoon. Before the patient

different reasons. Some of the causes were social and financial problems as a result of the Hundred
Years War, descendants of King Edward III fighting for the throne, and disgust over the Lancastrian
