Euro/USD Exchange rate
December 7, 2015
Exchange Rate
The exchange rate between countries determines one currency s strength in comparison to another.
These rates also oversee the economic growth and the currency purchasing power of countries.
Therefore, exchange rates are vital in ensuring that one country can maintain its value versus the US
dollar which is the most dominant currency. Currently, the Euro/USD exchange rate is at 1.0666. This
paper strives to give clear predictions on the value of the Euro against the USD short term and long
term. The rate is expected to continue decreasing or rather the US dollar is expected to gain strength
against the Euro in the near future as a result of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is unlikely for the Euro to gain stability based on the current market movement and expected market
movement in the next three months. With fed intervention, it is expected to see the Euro/USD
exchange rate rise to 1.05, (Eurorateforecast.com, 2015). The Euro is expected to continue declining
for the next three months and even in the foreseeable future. The declining rate has enabled currencies
such as USD and Sterling Pounds to make gains against the Euro in a very substantial manner. The
declining rate of the Euro/USD exchange rate is expected to follow the trend outlined below in the
next three months. The Euro/USD exchange rate is expected to fall to 1.07 in a period of one month
and then to 1.05 in three months. The latter will see the USD gain strength against the Euro, (Bank,
2015). The strength of Euro mainly depends on the desire of private investors to hold assets in Euros.
The European Central Bank has failed to check the anti inflationary measures that will assist in seeing
the Euro strengthen against the US Dollar. The Central bank has also failed to maintain the price
stability that has facilitated the continued deterioration of the Euro.
The Euro/USD exchange rate is expected to decline further to 0.98 in two years due to the various
factors that

seemingly simple modern day family. This family is one of few to have incredible superpowers. The

Comparison Of Phytoplankton And Giant Kelp
Phytoplankton and Giant Kelp are two protists found in Seasonal Seas . Phytoplankton are the main
primary producers found in the ocean. Spring is usually when phytoplankton bloom, which is known
as the spring bloom . When too many nutrients are available, phytoplankton may grow out of control
and form harmful algal blooms. Phytoplankton provide food for copepods, and they in turn are prey to
jellyfish. This all contributes to the giant food web in the ocean. Phytoplankton utilize light and
nutrients from the surface of the water which helps them get nutrients and live longer. Because of their
dependency on the sun, they are found floating near the surface of the water. They are extremely
dependent on minerals found in the ocean. The main two types of phytoplankton include the diatoms
and dinoflagellates. Some of them can thrive in different conditions which means that primary
consumers can get plenty of phytoplankton throughout the year. Phytoplankton also play an essential
role in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can grow roughly two feet each day and can grow to a possible height of 175 feet. They are held
upright by gas filled bladders at the base of leaf like blades. They grow straight up to the ocean surface
and they look like a dense canopy on top of the water. Giant Kelp usually grows in turbulent water
where they can absorb nutrients allowing them to grow stronger. They look very tough, but they are
also flexible allowing them to move with the ocean currents. Just like the phytoplankton, a lot of
organisms thrive off of giant kelp. Pieces of decomposed kelp fall to the ocean floor and provide food
for the sea creatures. Giant kelp has a multitude of inhabitants. Invertebrates graze on the blades, fish
seek shelter in the fronds and thousands of invertebrates live in the holdfast. Sea otters like to hang out
in the kelp forest, where they find their favorite food and can wrap themselves in the kelp to keep

Essay about Our Trip to Wyoming was Beautiful
Wyoming is a beautiful place We never drove farther west than Iowa. Going to Wyoming was
something my brothers and I were looking forward too. Talking about all the activities we will be
doing and places we will be stopping at made us more excited. It got me wishing we were going that
day, but I knew we had to wait a couple a weeks. Waiting was the worst part of the trip. I could not
focus on anything besides getting ready for the trip. As those long weeks came by we finally were
packed to go. It was 4 a.m. and my parents were packing the car and telling us to bring everything out.
We decided to take the minivan, so there was plenty of space. My older brother always got the back
seats to himself so he had his bags back there with him. My ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Then we wanted to make no stops from here to Yellowstone. Driving along by the mountain near
Yellowstone they told us to go around but we did not want to waste 2 hours so we went up the
mountain nice and slow. Since the mountain was so steep it burned our tires. When we reached
Yellowstone we made my dad pull over and we stopped at Yellowstone Lake. I remember my dad
telling us that the ice just melted from the mountain so it was cold. We did not care we went in
anyway, he was right. It was freezing cold so as we came out and our dad was smiling, he bet us we
could not reach to the middle of the lake. We decided to try and make a raft to get us to the middle and
to paddle with are hands there and back. As we tried to make a raft out of the huge logs we found near
by we could not find anything to tie them together so we just decided to hold on to all of them. As you
can only imagine, it failed and we went into the water. We gave up after a half hour and got back in to
the car. It was so beautiful going up the side of the mountain. I remember going up and seeing a mama
wolf, she had two little cubs playing by the logs. We stayed in Yellowstone that night. We got up early
the next morning and saw old faithful waiting for it to irrupt. Saw other geysers and some colorful
ones. We went back to the cabin and as we were eating diner we saw a pack of wolves run by. That
night all we heard the wolves so close but then it disappeared in the middle of the night. As

The Role Of Eors In Plato s Symposium
In Plato s Symposium, the great radical thinkers of Greece gather around and talk about passion and
Eros before their participating in their own mischievous acts themselves. Phaedrus great speech about
Eors will be evaluated connecting the ties between Eros, passion, and lovers.
The speech of Phaedrus is saying that the God of love is great. For the God is held in honor as eldest
among them, said he. An indication that Eros has no parents, nor does anyone, layman, or poet, claim
he does (118).The God of Eros is so great and omnipotent that he did not need any parents to conceive
him, he produced himself unto the thought process of the mankind himself. Being eldest, he is cause
to us of greatest goods. For I cannot say what good is greater, from youth on, than a worthy lover, and
for a lover a worthy beloved (118). They are saying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For those who intend to live beautifully must be led through the life of the whole life by what neither
city nor private person can do great and beautiful deeds (118). Phaedrus is talking about how love and
doing great things are needed for this symbiotic relationship. He also goes on to say how the beloved
affects the man s thinking when he does shameful acts. I then say that a man in love, if discovered
doing something shameful, or suffering it from another and failing cowardice to defend himself,
would not be pained so pained at being seen by his father or friends or anyone else as by his beloved.
(118) Eros is so profound and cunning that it when doing amoral acts that he does not feel as much
humiliation and lament for when his beloved gazes upon his eyes in horror. The lover seeing his
beloved s face would feel much remorse because he has wronged his true love. Essentially, the lover is
infected by the beloved beauty because women in ancient Greece were dainty, graceful, beautiful, and

How To Reduce Gun Violence In The United States
In the United States, there is a mass shooting that kills four or more people every twenty three hours.
Gun violence has risen to epidemic proportions. The United States has allowed guns to become so
easily accessible that in four out of five states anyone, even someone without a gun license, can buy
an unregistered firearm from a private vendor. It has also become incredibly easy to be approved for a
gun in most states. Currently it is more difficult to get a driver s license, even with extensive testing,
than it is to own a firearm. We, as a nation, cannot expect to progress far if we don t even moderately
control the flow of firearms that is flooding into the streets. We have the capacity to fix this and create
a safer country for everyone.
In order to improve the yearly death tolls from gun violence, we have to limit how one can even get a
gun in the first place. Currently, the country only has ten states that prohibit the sale of guns at gun
shows and through private vendors, who don t have proper licensing. Another ten states only prohibit
handgun sales, and the other thirty states have nothing. This means one can walk into a gun show with
cash and walk out the same day with a gun. If we prohibit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Descartes Mind Over Matter
1018
Professor Crowell
Phil 21
22 April 2016
Mind over Matter
In his meditations Descartes supposed there was two fundamentally different sorts of substances in the
universe, physical stuff, which bodies and chairs etc. are made up of; which is extended in space,
hence he called it res extensa, but there s also mind stuff which isn t in space at all thinking stuff or,
res cogitans. Bodies are made of res extensa and minds are made of res cogitans and the two are
separate. To understand why he thought this we must go back to his mission statement, which was to
doubt everything he could in order to find something indubitable which he thought would be certain
knowledge. Descartes found that he could doubt everything except that he was thinking since doubt
was a kind of thinking, and since thinking requires a thinker he knew that he must exist hence the
famous I think therefore I am syllogism known as the cogito. Descartes goes on to say that he can
doubt the existence of his body and all other physical things but he cannot doubt his mind exists
because of the cogito.
Descartes flaw is his liberal use of Leibniz s law, the identity of indiscernibles. The ontological
principle states that there cannot be separate objects or entities that have all of their properties in
common. That is to say, if you have two things and they have all the same properties, including their
position in space, you don t really have two things because they are identical; by the same token if two

American Colonialism
Colonialism s effects are often noticed within certain ethnic and national groups. However, the roots
of the effects of colonialism extend far past the group; they begin in individual people. Conrad s Heart
of Darkness, Dickinson s I m Nobody! Who are you? and Cullen s Heritage each display how the
unique environment created through the clashing of cultures allows individuals to redefine and
discover themselves. Mr. Kurtz embodies the redefinition of oneself through colonialism. He is
transformed from a man known for his promise, [for] his greatness, [for] his generous mind, and [for]
his noble heart (Conrad 70) into a manipulative leader of the natives because colonialism allows him
to escape the strict expectations of English life. In African colonialism, there are no rules. Kurtz takes
advantage of this freedom to fundamentally change himself, and he quickly sheds any semblance he
initially has of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After his escapades in the heart of Africa, Marlow is described as Buddha like. Conrad s purpose for
describing him as such is because being surrounded by uncharted waters, unfamiliar territory, and
cannibals who show commendable amounts of resistance make Marlow more culturally aware. He
sees the complexity in the world; he realizes that Africa is more than just one of the many blank
spaces on the earth [that needs to be filled] with rivers and lakes and names (Conrad 4). This narrow
perspective is one he cultivated as a young boy and has carried with him until he travels to Africa.
Similarly to Marlow, the speaker in Dickinson s I m Nobody! Who are you? possesses self awareness.
The speaker knows that she is a nobody, and, since the tone of the piece is positive and unconcerned,
she is comfortable with that fact. Following his stint in Africa, Marlow, too, becomes more self aware
through participating in

Essay on The Ever Changing Concept of Health
With the dominance of medicine over the past two hundred years many historical health concepts have
gone through various changes. The definition of health is dependent on one s perspective, be it lay,
professional or from influences of specific cultures or social ideals and health policies of a particular
time or place (Fleming Parker 2012, p.30, Naidoo Wills 2000).
An exploration through history will reflect on the health philosophies of the ancient Greeks and
Romans, the Middle Age s concept of quarantine and isolation and the religious theories of disease
including a brief insight into the renaissance. Subsequently, a discussion of health concepts of the past
two centuries including 19th century sanitary reform, the dominance in ... Show more content on

The Greek scholar Hippocrates (c.460BC c.370BC), defined the humoral conception of health, [the
Four Humours], with the balance of these being responsible for health, interacting together with
lifestyle and environment, including individual constitution, clean air, diet and clean water. He noted
in his writings, regarding the workers and slaves, that neglect of diet affected their health, yet, work
was not considered an influencing factor on humoral balance (Tountas 2009, p.186 187, Fleming
Parker 2012, p.28, Turner 2000, p.13, Krieger, pp.43 44, Noviik and morrow, 2008, p.5). Others such
as Empedocles, Aristotle and later Galen extended Hippocratic humoral theory to link other elements
(Hays 2009, pp.9 13). No matter which variation, these theories were an attempt to rationalise
individual incidents of sickness and the differences in health status in the populace in relation to
underlying principles and environmental exposures (Krieger, p.46). According to Krieger (2011, p.47)
Greek politics had influence stating not only nature but politics informed the conceptualization of
balance in Greek humoral theory .
Tountas (2009, p.187) noted that ancient Greek physicians were itinerant craftsmen, earning their
reputation for skill from the successes of previous visits (Veith 1980, p.532). The diversity of their
practice included leech craft, magic and what is known today as allied health professions including
dietetics, nutrition, occupational therapy,

Synthesis Of Dulcin Synthesis
Introduction
There is a demand for artificial sweeteners because people want to control their intake of sugar.
Saccharin, cyclamates, aspartame, as well as Dulcin, are some sugars that fulfill the need for
sweeteners to be of low caloric content. Some of the sweeteners, such as Dulcin, are now considered
to yield undesirable health effects with long term use. Dulcin is 250 times sweeter than table sugar.
The synthesis of Dulcin was done in order to calculate the percent yield. The lesson of this experiment
was to learn how to synthesize Dulcin from phenetidine and potassium cyanate (KOCN). During the
experiment, Dulcin was synthezided in the presence of water and acetic acid, which were the solvents.
Hydrocyanic acid (HOCN) was formed from the acetic acid and KOCN (Scheme 1 equation 1). Then
the HOCN will react with phenetidine to make Dulcin (Scheme 1 equation 2).
Scheme 1: Steps in Dulcin Synthesis. The apparatus used was the vacuum filtration, which is faster
than the gravity filtration and can only be used with a Büchner funnel. When using the Büchner
funnel, a filter paper needs to be inside of the funnel, as well as, a rubber stopper placed on the funnel
to guarantee a good seal. After the experiment was completed, a pure sample of Dulcin was obtained
because the exact melting point was determined to be 171.5 172.1°C while the literature value was
173 174°C which is a narrow range. The Rf values also support the reasoning that Dulcin is pure
because the Rf value for

which exalt the principle of cultural patriotism. This is done in such a way that further intentions can

The Benefits Of Sustainable Land Management
One out of every three people on earth is in some way affected by land degradation. There are
estimates that there are nearly two billion of land degradation worldwide. If you think about it, that is
twice the size of China! This includes large areas of cropland, grassland, woodland and forest areas
whose degradation reduces productivity, disrupts vital ecosystem functions, negatively affects
biodiversity and water resources, and increases vulnerability to climate change. Sustainable land
management is crucial to minimizing land degradation, rehabilitating degraded areas and ensuring the
optimal use of land resources for the benefit of present and future generations. Sustainable land
management (SLM) is to harmonize the goals of providing environmental, economic, and social
opportunities for the benefit of present and future generations, while maintaining and enhancing the
quality of the land (soil, water and air). Sustainable land management combines technologies, policies,
and activities. The more ecologically balanced land management can achieve both economic and
environmental benefits. The four common principles of sustainable land management include: land
user driven and participatory approaches; integrated use of natural resources at ecosystem and farming
systems levels; multilevel and multistate holder involvement; and targeted policy and institutional
support.

Before the invention of digital cameras the main medium for shooting a movie was on celluloid film
in which the quality of the image was very high from the beginning. However these cameras had some
inconveniences. The cinematographer would have to set the lighting and frame to the directors vision

caused the workflow to be very complex and time consuming which most producers would see

Apple Inc. Essay
Apple Inc.
I am going to start off by going into a little bit of history about apple and how it has grown over the

and the iphone, as well as the name change, and the new direction they have chosen to take with their
marketing and what it has helped them accomplish over the past couple of years.
Apple Inc. has come a long way from what it used to be. The computer market has always been a PC

This was just the start for Apple s new ideas and goals to penetrate the consumer market.
All throughout the early 21st century the iPod has been the sought after mp3 product. Everybody had
to have one, and if you did, you were pretty cool. In 2004 Apple joined up with U2 to help promote
their new 20 gig ipod release. This was a great example of apple s new marketing plan, going for the
entertainment and media side of the market.
Another side of Apple that really made the music industry happy was then they started to sell songs on
itunes for $1 a song. Music Pirating was a huge issue throughout the early 21st century and Apple was
on the for front of helping fix that. In 2007 Apple introduced the iPhone and Apple TV, two
revolutionary products that is changing Television as well as the cell phone market as we know it.
Apple TV is setting a new standard for the viewing of media, it gives the consumer the capability to
wirelessly connect their computer to their television to stream virtually any video, song or website on
the internet through their TV. This is the new are of wave of media technology allowing people to
watch whatever they want whenever they want without any regular scheduled programming. This is
also a major bonus for television marketers since they are able to tell exactly how many views each

The Rise Of The Roman And Ottoman Empires
With every empire that ever existed, there were highs and lows that contributed to their rise as well as
their fall in power each one somehow contributing to the rise of the next empire. Three great empires
that are perfect examples of this are the Roman, Mongolian and Ottoman Empires. Regarding the rise
and fall of these empires, there were differences that set them apart, however, there are several
similarities that merit a thorough examination, with the Roman Empire having the greatest influence
on society today. Factors that contributed to the rise of the Roman, Mongolian and Ottoman Empires
involve the following: some sort of unification whether it be political or geographical; a strong army;
and expansion. During Augustus Caesar s rule of the Roman Empire, he brought political stability to
his people by defeating Rome s enemies, and preserving aristocracy, the Senate, the elected Roman
magistracy, and Roman citizenship (Wallech et al., 2013). In the Mongolian Empire, Temujin, known
later as Genghis Khan, also defeated all his rivals and became the leader of Mongolian tribes (May,
2008). Under his rule, the tribes of Mongolia were unified into a single supra tribe also known as the
All Mongol State (May, 2008). The Ottoman Empire attracted and united those who roamed across the
Middle East searching for means to gain their livelihoods and seeking to fulfill their religious desire to
expand the territory of Islam (Yapp Shaw, 2017). All three empires also

The survey was distributed through various social media outlets, including: Facebook, Group Me,

Our survey was created using the Qualtrics survey system. Participants needed access to a smart

about either a sociology major named James or Jane, or an engineering major named James or Jane.
The conditions, which paragraph the student read, were randomly assigned to them but the questions
were identical and in the same order for every participant. After reading the paragraph they were asked
to rate how much they agreed with statements about the student. A 5 point Likert scale was used,
where 1 was strongly disagree and 5 was strongly agree. The statements given to the participants were

Why Is Witchcraft Important
WITCHCRAFT The first thing you need to learn about witchcraft is that it s not inherently evil. Many
modern Neopagans and Wiccans strongly resemble with this concept, and profess codes that prevent
them from performing magic on a person without their request. It is extremely powerful, extremely
dangerous, and often permanent. The concept of a magic worker influencing another person s body or
property against their will was present in many cultures, as traditions in both folk magic and religious
magic have the purpose of countering malicious magic or identifying magic users. Witchcraft of a
socially acceptable sort may then be introduced to identify the supposed evil doer so that punishment
may be carried out. Some modern commentators ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast Christopher Columbus And Hernando Cortez
Once the New World was revealed, several explorers were sent to claim land for the countries they
represented. One explorer was Hernando Cortez who was sent by Spain to claim the Aztec capital,
Tenochtitlan. John Cabot was sent to explore what is now Canada by King Henry VII of England.
Another notorious explorer would be Christopher Columbus who initially was the first to actually find
the New World. Although explorers come from different countries, they all share a desire to
accumulate land and wealth. Hernando Cortez, of Spain, was sent to explore and claim the Aztec
Empire. Spain sent Cortez there only after hearing about great treasures supposedly being hidden
there. Cortez was given a small expedition of about six hundred men to command

The Agricultural Crisis by Wendell Berry Essay example
The Agricultural Crisis by Wendell Berry
In this novel by Wendell Berry, Berry s describes in his thesis that modern culture is destroying the
agricultural culture. He feels that technology is seen as the easy way to produce food faster and more
efficiently. With this modern way of farming comes the idea that hard work is not needed to make a
living. The goal is comfort and leisure. Berry feels that this is the reason for the deterioration of the
agricultural culture. He believes that hard work and pride in workmanship is more important than
material goods and money. This was by no means a perfect society. The people had often been violent
wand wasteful in the use of land of each other. Its present ills have already taken root in it. ... Show

They generally are not interested in anything that cannot be reached by automobile on a good road.
Some of the farmer s children will be able to afford to stay on the farm. Perhaps even fewer will wish
to do so, for it will cost too much, require too much work and worry, and it is hardly a fashionable
ambition.
Another argument that Berry proposes is the connection between the modernization of agricultural
techniques and the disintegration of the culture, as well as the communities of farming and the
consequent disintegration of structures of urban life. What we called agriculture progress has involved
the forcible displacement of millions of people. An example of modernization can be seen through the
idea of Get big or get out. It s a policy that says that you have to become more modern through change
and be competitive in order to keep up with the other competitors. If not, than you must get of what
you are doing. This can be used through a comparison of communist using military force in order to
remove those who refuse to follow their demand for change, and the government using their economic
power to force farmers to improve their farming techniques. In a Free Market the most successful
becomes the richest. To those who could not

The Athen Civilization Of Ancient Greek Culture
The Athen Civilization was one of the greatest examples of what a flourishing city state could be.
During the Golden Age, Greek civilization was destroyed by an enemy of the city the Persians. At that
time, the people of ancient Greece produced amazing architecture. The Parthenon was one of many
amazing things created by ancient Greeks. This building was constructed to be a grand symbol of
Athens. This building and the surrounding architecture stood for the representation of Greek culture.
Some ancient Greek values, beliefs, and skills that are represented by the Parthenon are the belief in
being strong, having the most beautiful and grandest architecture and, having the most logical
philosophy.
Many Greek people valued strength and believed that it was the most important virtue of all.
According to the article Athens was determined to be the most powerful, so for them to do that they
decided to organize campaigns. In these campaigns they decided that building a grand building was
the way to go; and in these buildings they would place grand statues. The Parthenon building was
filled with statues one of them being of the greek goddess Athena. Athena was made of ivory and
covered in gold; she also is depicted as having a spear and a shield in her hand. The sculptor created
her this way to show that one of the main virtues was to be strong, and protect the city. The statue of
Athena representing strength, was accompanied by a very strong military to protect the great structure

Booker T Washington Dbq
Two important figures in history who were well known for educating African Americans and who also
changed the way the U.S education system worked were Booker T. Washington who focused on

Washington was born April 5, 1856 into slavery by his mother Jane. Jane, booker, and his older
brother john were 3 of the six slaves working on a small farm. Booker s father was a local white
farmer. There isn t much to say about booker s father because a white man impregnating a black
women slave was not tolerated, especially not in the south. Because of that Jane guarded his identity.
The emancipation proclamation was the event which changed Booker T. Washington s fate, making it
possible for him to be free and get and education. Jane left the plantation with Booker and John. They

Underage Drinking Alcohol
Drinking Alcohol Should Be Banned On Young People
Underage drinking alcohol contributes to the death of approximately 5,000 people every year the
violence, injuries, aggressive behavior and deaths that can result from underage drinking. Drinking
alcohol among teens, college students and adolescents is a major health problem in the United States,
and it is a public concern. As a result, the community is affected by the loss of young people lives, lost
productivity and significant health care costs. Thus, drinking alcohol should be banned on young
people.
Alcohol consumption by young adults leads to increased risk of accidental and violent injury. When
teens early exposure to the behavioral pattern of alcohol consumption of parents of family history of

Environmental Pollution To Save The Environment
Whether individuals choose to believe in it or not, environmental destruction is a very real and
apparent social problem that needs to be addressed before it is too late to save the Earth. Numerous
factors such as the climate change, disposal of waste, deforestation, and the quality of air and water
impact the destruction of our world. The majority of the blame for our Earth s deterioration falls on
the human race, however, some of the blame does fall on industries, that for example may improperly
dispose of their waste. Because of the actions and behaviors of humans as a whole, the environment is
suffering irreversible damage. The small population of people that do advocate for change or engage
in environment friendly activities is not enough to help fix the environment alone. Drastic changes
need to start being made if the human race wants a chance at saving our environment. This change is
urgent because problems are not linear. If you inflict enough damage, you ve shifted the planet into a
whole new state and the damage spirals out of control (1). Examples of this detrimental damage are
demonstrated in The Guardian news article, Humans have destroyed a tenth of Earth s wilderness in
25 years study, where the effects of deforestation are focused on. By invading the wilderness, many
animals habitats are disrupted, consequently putting them in danger of becoming extinct. Once this
habitat is disturbed and destroyed, it is officially gone and cannot be restored. Humans

I Had Known George For As Long As I Could Remember
I had known George for as long as I could remember. Our families were good friends, our mothers
liked to gossip over stale biscuits and diluted tea and our fathers liked to go fishing during the summer
months and hunting in the winter months. We d always spend holidays together too. My parents would
host the Fourth of July barbecue and Thanksgiving and his parents would host Christmas and Easter
dinner. Every time our families got together, George would be there. From the times he threw mud at
me when we were six or the time he pushed me through the ice when we were ten or the time he
locked me out of the house during a thunderstorm when we were fifteen, it wasn t until he left that we
fell in love.
George had been drafted in the war when we were 18, and while he was gone he wrote me letters.
Through the letters I saw a different side of George and I fell in love with him. He was poetic and
kind. We wrote letters back and forth for the entire two years he was gone and started dating not long
after he returned. And not long after we started dating, we were engaged to be married. George had
insisted we get married as soon as possible, we had known each other since we were in diapers, why
wait any longer? I had been so blinded with the new love, I had agreed. I can t begin to explain how
happy our mothers were when we announced our relationship, or how elated they were when we
announced our engagement. The wedding wasn t anything too extravagant. The ceremony took

Current Educational Status Of Children With Disabilities...
Current educational status of children with disabilities Differing combinations of structural factors
(such as caste, gender, religion, poverty etc.) intersect with disability resulting in varied individual
experiences, but the broad commonalities that shape the lives of people with disabilities in India
transcend these divisions. Their lives are largely marked by poverty and marginalisation from
mainstream social processes. A recent study by the World Bank (2007), for example, noted that
children with disability are five times more likely to be out of school than children belonging to
scheduled castes or scheduled tribes (SC or ST). Moreover, when children with disability do attend
school they rarely progress beyond the primary level, leading ultimately to lower employment chances
and long term income poverty. Government documents also describe marked variations in the
provisions envisaged for different marginalised groups. Historically, SCs/STs have had a strong
political lobby since independence and this is reflected in the provisions made for them. Article 46 of
the Constitution makes a straightforward commitment to promoting the special care and education of
SC/ST populations, whereas Article 41 referring to children with disabilities, states: The State shall
within the limits of its economic capacity and development make effective provision for securing the
right to work, old age, sickness and disablement. The clause, within the limits of the State s economic

Willy Loman Tragic Hero
Famous Greek philosopher, Aristotle, pondered many questions over 2,300 years ago. Eventually, he
set the definition of a tragic hero. Tragic heroes are often veneered but have a downside that leads to
their unfortunate downfall. Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero is widely accepted, and Willy Loman
in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman fits the definition. Willy Loman is a tragic hero because he
embodies greatness, has flaws, and his downfall resulted in an increase of awareness.
According to Aristotle, a tragic hero must be looked up to. While society may not, Willy s family
looks up to him which makes him a tragic hero. Willy is the sole provider of his family. While they do
struggle financially, he has managed to make ends meet. His children, like Biff, look up to him. In
Willy s flashbacks Biff aspires to be like his father when he grows up. His family also sees him has a
kind and noble person, even though he is lying much of the time. For example, his wife, Linda, feels
he is loyal even though he has had an affair, and always makes excuses for his faults. In short, a tragic
hero is revered by those around him and in this case, Willy s family thinks highly ... Show more

Willy Loman is a man who often embellishes the truth and lies to make himself and those around him
seem better than they are. One such lie is in a flashback when Willy informs Linda that he made
twelve hundred dollars total on his last business trip when he actually only made two hundred dollars.
Furthermore, Willy committed adultery when he was younger and often on the road for work. This
was perhaps Willy s greatest mistake because it caused a riff to form between him and Biff. Yet,
because he has an affair, Willy becomes more relatable with those who are not considered heroes. The
definition of a tragic hero includes having foibles, and Willy Loman has many flaws, his tendency to
lie and his affair being only

The Many Languages of Australia and New Zealand
As of 2013, there are many languages spoken both in Australia and New Zealand. Having a history
dating as far as the 18th century, both countries constitute the Austral realm. Within its many aspects,
one of the most notorious is its language. Known by the humorous effect some of its sentences and
words provoke in people, the language of the Austral realm has helped shape the identity of Australia
as well as New Zealand and has become an essential spectrum of their culture.
In spite of its variations and the reasons behind its current status, this research paper will be focusing
upon the four main languages of the Austral realm: English, New Zealand s and Australia s sign
language, Australian Indigenous language and the Maori language in New Zealand. Each language has
impacted the Austral realm in its own way and will be viewed both individually and in comparison
within the realm s two states. English s history, what constitutes the signs in New Zealand s sign
language, Australian accent... all of them are part of a culture both beautiful and unique and should,
therefore, be treated with the same care as one would treat any relic.
The Austral realm s languages are viewed by its people as more than only an idiom. Its evolution
throughout decades of history has transformed both Australia and New Zealand into a unique society,
filled with a mixture of words and idioms such as go for a burn and dog s breakfast, both of which
exemplifies some of the reasons of the worldwide

What I Learned In Anatomy Class
My hand was sprinting across the page with charcoal in palm, and the finish line of my sketch was in
sight. The image of a model s face was quickly appearing, and the proportions of her eyes to nose and
ear to mouth were just right. Proportions of the human face were something I learned in art class,
whereas the details in her eyes were something I learned in anatomy class.
I never knew how much I loved science until my love for art developed. As a child, I grew up in a
home where my parents encouraged me to flourish creatively. While we lived in Europe, I thrived on
new adventures as they took me to museums, cathedrals, and castles throughout several countries. The
sculptures and paintings of people always amazed me. My small brain could ... Show more content on

During my time there, I shadowed a pediatric doctor. While I was asking him questions, he was called
into an emergency surgery, and I was unfortunately not old enough to watch according to the hospital
restrictions. So as I was waiting around, a PA swooped me up and let me shadow her instead. I was
embarrassed to admit to her that I was not aware of a PA s responsibilities to the hospital. Throughout
the rest of the day, I followed the PA into patient rooms and recovery rooms. I was able to observe
how the PA interacted with patients with such a reassuring and caring attitude that I had not seen with
the previous physician I had met. I not only respected her compassionate personality, but I related to
it.
My senior year, I desired to see more of what life was like as a PA. Thankfully, I was finally within the
age requirement to stand in on surgeries. That day I saw the PA make the first cut and suture the last
stitch. Both were made with such precision and perfection. It hit me; the PA was an artist just like
Rubens, Giorgione, and Michelangelo. The sutures were just as beautiful as the paintings in all the

  • 5. Comparison Of Phytoplankton And Giant Kelp Phytoplankton and Giant Kelp are two protists found in Seasonal Seas . Phytoplankton are the main primary producers found in the ocean. Spring is usually when phytoplankton bloom, which is known as the spring bloom . When too many nutrients are available, phytoplankton may grow out of control and form harmful algal blooms. Phytoplankton provide food for copepods, and they in turn are prey to jellyfish. This all contributes to the giant food web in the ocean. Phytoplankton utilize light and nutrients from the surface of the water which helps them get nutrients and live longer. Because of their dependency on the sun, they are found floating near the surface of the water. They are extremely dependent on minerals found in the ocean. Gun violence has risen to epidemic proportions. The United States has allowed guns to become so easily accessible that in four out of five states anyone, even someone without a gun license, can buy an unregistered firearm from a private vendor. It has also become incredibly easy to be approved for a gun in most states. Currently it is more difficult to get a driver s license, even with extensive testing, than it is to own a firearm. We, as a nation, cannot expect to progress far if we don t even moderately control the flow of firearms that is flooding into the streets. We have the capacity to fix this and create a safer country for everyone. In order to improve the yearly death tolls from gun violence, we have to limit how one can even get a gun in the first place. Currently, the country only has ten states that prohibit the sale of guns at gun shows and through private vendors, who don t have proper licensing. Descartes Mind Over Matter 1018 Professor Crowell Phil 21 22 April 2016 Mind over Matter In his meditations Descartes supposed there was two fundamentally different sorts of substances in the universe, physical stuff, which bodies and chairs etc. are made up of; which is extended in space, hence he called it res extensa, but there s also mind stuff which isn t in space at all thinking stuff or, res cogitans. Bodies are made of res extensa and minds are made of res cogitans and the two are separate. To understand why he thought this we must go back to his mission statement, which was to doubt everything he could in order to find something indubitable which he thought would be certain knowledge. Descartes found that he could doubt everything except that he was thinking since doubt was a kind of thinking, and since thinking requires a thinker he knew that he must exist hence the famous I think therefore I am syllogism known as the cogito. Descartes goes on to say that he can doubt the existence of his body and all other physical things but he cannot doubt his mind exists because of the cogito. Descartes flaw is his liberal use of Leibniz s law, the identity of indiscernibles. The ontological principle states that there cannot be separate objects or entities that have all of their properties in common. He noted in his writings, regarding the workers and slaves, that neglect of diet affected their health, yet, work was not considered an influencing factor on humoral balance (Tountas 2009, p.186 187, Fleming Parker 2012, p.28, Turner 2000, p.13, Krieger, pp.43 44, Noviik and morrow, 2008, p.5). Saccharin, cyclamates, aspartame, as well as Dulcin, are some sugars that fulfill the need for sweeteners to be of low caloric content. Some of the sweeteners, such as Dulcin, are now considered to yield undesirable health effects with long term use. Dulcin is 250 times sweeter than table sugar. The synthesis of Dulcin was done in order to calculate the percent yield. The lesson of this experiment was to learn how to synthesize Dulcin from phenetidine and potassium cyanate (KOCN). During the experiment, Dulcin was synthezided in the presence of water and acetic acid, which were the solvents. Hydrocyanic acid (HOCN) was formed from the acetic acid and KOCN (Scheme 1 equation 1). Then the HOCN will react with phenetidine to make Dulcin (Scheme 1 equation 2). Three great empires that are perfect examples of this are the Roman, Mongolian and Ottoman Empires. Regarding the rise and fall of these empires, there were differences that set them apart, however, there are several similarities that merit a thorough examination, with the Roman Empire having the greatest influence on society today. Factors that contributed to the rise of the Roman, Mongolian and Ottoman Empires involve the following: some sort of unification whether it be political or geographical; a strong army; and expansion. During Augustus Caesar s rule of the Roman Empire, he brought political stability to his people by defeating Rome s enemies, and preserving aristocracy, the Senate, the elected Roman magistracy, and Roman citizenship (Wallech et al., 2013). • 27. Environmental Pollution To Save The Environment Whether individuals choose to believe in it or not, environmental destruction is a very real and apparent social problem that needs to be addressed before it is too late to save the Earth. Numerous factors such as the climate change, disposal of waste, deforestation, and the quality of air and water impact the destruction of our world. The majority of the blame for our Earth s deterioration falls on the human race, however, some of the blame does fall on industries, that for example may improperly dispose of their waste. Because of the actions and behaviors of humans as a whole, the environment is suffering irreversible damage. The small population of people that do advocate for change or engage in environment friendly activities is not enough to help fix the environment alone. Drastic changes need to start being made if the human race wants a chance at saving our environment. This change is urgent because problems are not linear. If you inflict enough damage, you ve shifted the planet into a whole new state and the damage spirals out of control (1). Examples of this detrimental damage are demonstrated in The Guardian news article, Humans have destroyed a tenth of Earth s wilderness in 25 years study, where the effects of deforestation are focused on. By invading the wilderness, many animals habitats are disrupted, consequently putting them in danger of becoming extinct. Once this habitat is disturbed and destroyed, it is officially gone and cannot be restored. Humans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. I Had Known George For As Long As I Could Remember I had known George for as long as I could remember. Our families were good friends, our mothers liked to gossip over stale biscuits and diluted tea and our fathers liked to go fishing during the summer months and hunting in the winter months. We d always spend holidays together too. My parents would host the Fourth of July barbecue and Thanksgiving and his parents would host Christmas and Easter dinner. Every time our families got together, George would be there. From the times he threw mud at me when we were six or the time he pushed me through the ice when we were ten or the time he locked me out of the house during a thunderstorm when we were fifteen, it wasn t until he left that we fell in love. George had been drafted in the war when we were 18, and while he was gone he wrote me letters. Through the letters I saw a different side of George and I fell in love with him. He was poetic and kind. We wrote letters back and forth for the entire two years he was gone and started dating not long after he returned. And not long after we started dating, we were engaged to be married. George had insisted we get married as soon as possible, we had known each other since we were in diapers, why wait any longer? I had been so blinded with the new love, I had agreed. I can t begin to explain how happy our mothers were when we announced our relationship, or how elated they were when we announced our engagement. The wedding wasn t anything too extravagant. • 29. Current Educational Status Of Children With Disabilities... Current educational status of children with disabilities Differing combinations of structural factors (such as caste, gender, religion, poverty etc.) intersect with disability resulting in varied individual experiences, but the broad commonalities that shape the lives of people with disabilities in India transcend these divisions. Their lives are largely marked by poverty and marginalisation from mainstream social processes. A recent study by the World Bank (2007), for example, noted that children with disability are five times more likely to be out of school than children belonging to scheduled castes or scheduled tribes (SC or ST). Moreover, when children with disability do attend school they rarely progress beyond the primary level, leading ultimately to lower employment chances and long term income poverty. Government documents also describe marked variations in the provisions envisaged for different marginalised groups. Historically, SCs/STs have had a strong political lobby since independence and this is reflected in the provisions made for them. Article 46 of the Constitution makes a straightforward commitment to promoting the special care and education of SC/ST populations, whereas Article 41 referring to children with disabilities, states: The State shall within the limits of its economic capacity and development make effective provision for securing the right to work, old age, sickness and disablement. Tragic heroes are often veneered but have a downside that leads to their unfortunate downfall. Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero is widely accepted, and Willy Loman in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman fits the definition. Willy Loman is a tragic hero because he embodies greatness, has flaws, and his downfall resulted in an increase of awareness. According to Aristotle, a tragic hero must be looked up to. While society may not, Willy s family looks up to him which makes him a tragic hero. Willy is the sole provider of his family. While they do struggle financially, he has managed to make ends meet. His children, like Biff, look up to him. In Willy s flashbacks Biff aspires to be like his father when he grows up. His family also sees him has a kind and noble person, even though he is lying much of the time. For example, his wife, Linda, feels he is loyal even though he has had an affair, and always makes excuses for his faults. One such lie is in a flashback when Willy informs Linda that he made twelve hundred dollars total on his last business trip when he actually only made two hundred dollars. Furthermore, Willy committed adultery when he was younger and often on the road for work. This was perhaps Willy s greatest mistake because it caused a riff to form between him and Biff. The image of a model s face was quickly appearing, and the proportions of her eyes to nose and ear to mouth were just right. Proportions of the human face were something I learned in art class, whereas the details in her eyes were something I learned in anatomy class. I never knew how much I loved science until my love for art developed. As a child, I grew up in a home where my parents encouraged me to flourish creatively. Throughout the rest of the day, I followed the PA into patient rooms and recovery rooms. I was able to observe how the PA interacted with patients with such a reassuring and caring attitude that I had not seen with the previous physician I had met.
