Do you want to plan sizzling Rotary projects that deliver effective outcomes for people and the environment? This workshop will give you a five-step guide and tools based on experience and good business practice to develop, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate, and sustain successful Rotary projects while ensuring environmental sustainability. The workshop, led by experienced facilitators, also will assist you with access to online templates and other resources.
Global grants support large international activities with sustainable, measurable outcomes in Rotary's areas of focus. If you're new to the global grant process, this session is for you. We'll cover the basics of global grants and help you understand how to get started.
Do you ever wonder what happens to the information Rotary collects in the surveys you've taken? Every year, Rotary conducts over 40 research studies, gathering important information from its members. Hear highlights from some of Rotary's most important and interesting studies, and learn about the impact this research is making on our organization.
Learn about recent updates to Rotary.org, and My Rotary,
what we’re working on now, and what’s in store for the future.
We’ll listen to your feedback, talk about our decision-making
process, share how we’re measuring success, and offer tips
for sharing your Rotary success stories with our team.
Rotary's program participants and alumni possess a great deal of expertise that can enhance grant and service projects. But it can be difficult for alumni and Rotarians to connect. In this session, hear from alumni and Rotarians who have worked together on successful projects as they discuss how they found each other and the best ways that each can contribute to the other's good work.

Funding Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Operations & Maintenance for the Long TermRotary International
Rotarians and partners often focus on the initial investment in providing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services. But sustainability depends on generating a perpetual stream of money to fund operations, maintenance, and rehabilitation. A panel of Rotarians will discuss options such as earning revenue from water or sanitation supply chain management, contractual fee-for-service models, water kiosks, renting or selling filters, microfinancing, revolving funds, co-ops, and subsidies.
How do major gifts to Rotary affect communities around the world? This is your opportunity to learn about major gifts initiatives for the areas of focus, Rotary Peace Centers, and polio. Join us for an in-depth discussion on the strategies that will help meet these goals, and learn how you can be a part of creating Rotary’s legacy.
Group Study Exchange (GSE) may have ended, but you can still participate in cultural exchanges. REDD+ in the Cameroon policy arena: Perceptions, power and politicsCIFOR-ICRAF
Cameroon is still in the preparatory phase for REDD+, and a number of actors in the arena are jostling to influence the process of designing a national architecture for REDD+. This presentation outlines these emerging policy networks, and concludes that policy making around REDD+ is run by a limited number of actors, with international agencies as key players. Given Cameroon’s previous track record with limited success from externally driven reform processes, further efforts to achieve national ownership and to encourage broader participation may be necessary to achieve actual change in Cameroon’s forests and REDD+ arena.
CIFOR scientist Félicien Kengoum Djiegni gave this presentation on 18 June 2012 at a panel discussion organised by CIFOR and partners at the ISEE 2012 Conference at Rio, which convened under the topic "Ecological Economics and Rio+20: Challenges and Contributions for a Green Economy". The panel was titled ‘National strategies for reducing emissions from avoided deforestation and degradation – how much transformational change is possible in current political and economic realities? "Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.
UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

• Formal participation dominated the process with low rate of protest
• Globally a high rate of participation in the process
• Growing number of actors participatin in REDD+ Events
• Existence of non state actors’ networks specifically dedicated to
REDD+ (eg. GTCR-R and REPALEF)
• No actors complained that he was totally not heard in each of
the events.
• Few actors considered their expectations in the four Events were
fully met
• Globally actors consider their expectations are still to me meet in
the REDD+ in DRC
3. • A donor priven process
• The more participation is set as a condition by donors, the more non state
stakeholders participate in the Events
• National actors’ capacity to manage REDD+ is still doubted and impedes their
participation in managing finantial resources
• Reduction of actors’ interest in REDD+ over time
• REDD+ mostly treated as a project than a political priority
• Policy events are what drive actors’ interest towards REDD+
• Participation of indigenous groups still a challenge
• Formal recognition of Indigenous peoples still limited to donors driven forest
processes
• Recent access to resources by indigenous organizations to structure their networks
• Need for REDD+ to get deeper into the national policy agenda
