REFLECTION PAPER ON UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
The UEFA Champions League final is one of the most prestigious football events in Europe and the
whole world. It attracts football fans from all across the world as European teams compete for the
coveted Champions League trophy. In 2017, the final features Real Madrid from the Spanish La Liga
and Juventus from the Italian Seria A. On the other hand, the Super Bowl is the yearly championship
game of the National Football League (NFL). It signifies that the regular season has ended and
culminates in the award of the Super Bowl trophy. Both events bear several similarities as well as ...

Several multinational companies sponsored the UEFA Champions League. According to the policies
of the league, not more than eight companies should only sponsor a match. The game played on 3rd
June 2017 was sponsored by Nissan, Heineken, MasterCard, Gazprom and PepsiCo companies.
During the match, the companies were allocated advertising boards that were visible on the perimeter
wall of the field used by the players.
Similarly, in both leagues, fans remain cheerful all through to the end of the match. For example, even
though Juventus fans were disappointed especially during the second half of the match, they cheered
their team to the end. They encouraged the players to keep on until the end. They only stopped after
the game had ended and their team had lost to the opponents. Likewise, United States show support to
their specific teams all through the match. Additionally, in both teams, fans enter and cheer their teams
by raising banners for the teams playing. Most fans put on attires with similar colors as those of the
playing teams.
Both UEFA Champions League fans and those in the United States do not behave in any manner that
may suggest hooliganism. The match played on 3rd of June 2017 was calm with no case of a
misdemeanor from the fans. Consequently, fans in America also maintain their cool even when they
lose to their opponents. I observed that the Juventus supporters were sorrowful. Despite this fact, the
fans did

Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, And Frederick...
When a group of people get together, with the same wants and needs, they become so motivated that
they will not be stopped by anyone to change what must be changed. Throughout the mid 1800 s, to
the mid 1900 s, black men and women, along with white women, were all struggling to change what
they believed was wrong. While white women and African Americans both struggled to have equality
with white men. Historic leaders like Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Frederick
Douglass, are only three people, but influenced an entire nation to help make a great changes. In
Sojourner Truth s speech, Ain t I a Woman? , Truth speaks out about women s equality. Truth tells her
audience, And ain t I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and
gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain t I a woman? (2). Sojourner Truth is telling
the crowd that men aren t even on the same level as women. During this time period women were
looked at as dainty, and sub men, but Truth explains to the audience that women are definitely equal, if
not greater, than men. Truth proves women are equal to men once again by stating that, ... he says
women can t have as much rights as men, cause Christ wasn t a woman! Where did your Christ come
from?... From God and a woman! (2). Truth uses a great tool here to grab her audience s attention. By
tying religion, a credible topic, to her argument of equality, she practically squashes any doubt in the

Three Values of Greek Society in the Odyssey Essay
The world is full of wonders, but nothing is more wonderful than man. This quote shows that the
Greeks valued themselves, but also their intellect in which they know that the world about them is
great. The Greeks valued beauty, art, intellect, honor, and truth; the list is long. Some of these values
are shown through the story of the Odyssey, which tells of the adventures of Odysseus and his family.
In order to understand Greek values and how they are portrayed in Greek society, one must examine
how some values are portrayed in the Odyssey: hospitality, intellect, and beauty. In Greek society,
hospitality is really important. The Greeks strongly believed in their gods, and they always wanted to
be prepared if one came knocking at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of a lack of hospitality was when Odysseus and his men came upon the Kyklopes , and
the one eyed monsters treated them terribly. On first sight they tried to kill Odysseus and all his men.
The Greeks also valued intelligence and intellect. Although there were certain areas in Greece that
valued it more than others, such as Athens, the Greeks were generally an intelligent race of people. An
example from the Odyssey is when Penelope (Odysseus wife, Telemakhos mother) tells her suitors
that she needs to finish weaving a shroud for an old man before she marries. She proceeds to weave on
her loom every day, but unravels it during the night, so that she will never have to marry. Another
example is when Odysseus finally arrives home, and he disguises himself so he can question people
about his home and the situation, all without being noticed. In this way he gained information without
revealing himself. Another important Greek value is beauty. The Greeks strived for the idealistic form
in everything they did: art, literature, beauty, and even in the sciences. The Odyssey portrays Penelope
to be an older woman, but a beautiful older woman, having a hall full of suitors wanting to marry her.
Another example is when Athena changes Odysseus appearance in certain situations, usually making
Odysseus look young and less hardened by all his traveling. A more detailed description of this is
when Odysseus

Effects Of Teen Pregnancy On Teens
Every teen has dream about how they want to graduate from high school and then go to college, but
some teens are not willing to take the challenge. Some of these teens want to drop out of high school
and other teens want to keep furthering their education. For some there are obstacle that life throw at

is a teen parent trying to finish their education it becomes more difficult than it would be for ordinary

The government has worked many ways to drop the rate of teenage pregnancy. In the 1996 the

promote abstinence only until marriage education (Teenage) this is to help students in schools see that
they should wait to be married to have sex. This program did reduce the rates of teenage pregnancies
and until today many of these programs are in use today. There are government programs that have
been helpful toward reducing teenage pregnancy, but some of the programs are actual schools that are

referred to today s program No Regrets. This programs have been going on in Melba High School and

History Of Campaign Uniforms
The regular soldier had three different uniforms a Campaign Uniform, a Parade Uniform and a Fatigue
Uniform. The government didn t discipline the soldiers like the British army did, so many of the
uniforms were adapted to the commander s preference, the location of the soldier, and materials that
were available in the area. The Service and Campaign uniforms were pretty much the same in a lot of
ways. The headdress was a black felt hat with one side pinned up with an American eagle, which was
the US s coat of arms. The coat was an almost knee length Prussian blue jacket. The rank was worn on
the coat sleeve. The overcoat was a sky blue and took after the french model. Only officers wore

What Are Personal Afflictions That Affect The Elderly
Afflictions that affect the elderly often impair the memory, which can make it difficult to maintain
consistency with personal affairs. Elderly people who don t have a good support system from family
and friends can end up behind on payments, miscalculate their finances, and forget to schedule

Embrace What the World has Given to You
EMBRACE THE WORLD GIVEN TO YOU
So I walk into the Hyderabad Airport with so many things running in my mind. Even though this is
not my first time to New York, this moment I m coming to live here rather than visiting for a quick
holiday. But within a few weeks I realized the most important thing about moving to a completely
different environment you don t need to change yourself. All you need to alter is your perception.
My parents were more apprehensive than me. They believed that their son would return a much fairer,
different, open and heavily accented individual. They had seen such stories multiple times on the
television screen, and heard of it from other people, but never imagines it might happen to them as

just 6 months into this country. In this short span, I saw a tennis grand slam final, surfed, skied,
gambled and even flew a plane for the first time visiting 6 main US cities across the country.
Unlike what I saw in all Hollywood movies, New York City wasn t just about tall skyscrapers, busy
subways and glittering downtown. Having spent my entire life in the brutal heat of Hyderabad,
Vijayawada and Coimbatore, I was entering a climate that was chillingly different. It was hard to

The Improvisational Brain By Amanda Martinez
Learning to create music or a speech spontaneously is not an easy task. Any professional musician will
say that improvisation is not as easy as just making it up as one goes along. In fact, the musicians that
make improvisation look simple are the ones who have put in countless hours of time and study to
make it look effortless. The Improvisational Brain by Amanda Martinez tells about a neuroscientist
that studied the science behind how the brain works in order to improvise. In order to be able to be a
good improviser, one must learn to shut down the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and let the creativity
and skill take over. What about those that have limited ability? Should they learn to improvise as well?
One would argue that it is not important to learn to improvise, whether it be music or otherwise.
However, improvising can give a person a sense of freedom from the ordinary. This notion of trying to
tell your own story, without the constraints of caring how well it s going as you re saying it, was really
pretty intriguing (Martinez p. 7). Although many struggle being able to shut down the part of your
brain that allows one to improvise, it is important to teach children and adults alike how to improvise
because it teaches creativity, divergent thinking, and encourages better communication skills.
Improvising is defined by Merriam Webster dictionary as, to make, invent, or arrange offhand. A
classical pianist, Robert Levin said of improvisation, It s an act of

They fought back in the decision of freeing slaves. The South wanted to be left alone to make their

model is followed. For Native Americans and military veterans the US uses the Beveridge system
where providers are public and government owned and individuals do not receive any bills of any
kind. Lastly, for the uninsured (currently about twenty three million) individuals are forced to buy for
all services out of pocket and thus cause significant financial burden and in many cases bankruptcy
(Reid 20). Ultimately, with these varying methods combined with the countless payers present in the
multi payer system has crated incredible complexity that needs to be lessened in order to curb rising
medical cost. To the immediate north of the United States lies a country who s national health system
is comprehensive for all medically necessary and psychiatric services its citizens require (Reid 127).
The Canadian Healthcare system originated in the late 1940s when Saskatchewan Premier Tommy
Douglas instituted such a system within the providence. As it would turn out the experiment would be
a total success with Saskatchewan and with increased public pressure for the institution of Medicare

Mimicry And Jud Süss
Over Generalization and Highly Sameness in Anti Semitism
The literary criticism Mimicry written by Joseph Goebbels and the film Jud Süss directed by Veit
Harlan share a same striking characteristic of the imagery in the anti Semitic ideology its stereotypy.
Both the criticism and the film attempt to convince the audience that the Jews are guilty and the court
will pronounce judgment on them through the anti Semitic ideology with its stereotypy, which takes
two forms. First, there is a tendency to over generalize a single trait of the Jews in both Mimicry and
Jud Süss. Second, the criticism and the film reveal a stereotyped negative image of the group as a
whole, as if to know one is to know all, since they are all alike.
Mimicry and Jud Süss instill the initial guilt and cunning of Jews in audience. Goebbels subscribes to
statements beginning The Jews are ... or The Jews do ... with the manipulative techniques the
imperative sentences to show that the Jews are devilish and they will receive a penalty. The Jews are
masters at fitting in to their surroundings. The Jews are guilty! They (The Jews) are the best pillar of
the coming defeat. Jew is the master of the lie. They spout nonsense, and suddenly betray themselves.
They carry the seed of destruction. (Goebbels 1,3) Through these imperative sentences in Mimicry, the
readers accept the facts Goebbels states that the Jews are sinful and the Jews are a parasitic race that
feeds like a foul fungus on the

nutrition specialist, and an on site protein shake cafe. It will allow clients to be active and socialize in

And Did Those Feet In Ancient Time
Language, Usage, and Style in And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time In And Did Those Feet in Ancient
Time, William Blake expertly combines language, usage, and style to create this short poem that
would later become the preface to his epic Milton: a Poem. Blake puts emphasis on the narrator s
diction, syntax, and tone to delineate the narrator s thoughts and feelings that complement his purpose
in this poem. The diction in this poem is largely neutral, if not informal. Blake uses common
vocabulary; however, he refrains from slang and colloquial diction. The narrator s language is strong,
yet it is also lyrical as it was fit to be adapted into an anthem called Jerusalem by Sir Hubert Parry in
1916 (Dibble). The poem is written in first person, and there is no alternate dialogue. The narrator s
diction is in a language that can be understood by the common Englishman. This is pertinent as the
major themes of the poem are of biblical allusions, and the Bible has been translated for the common
man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only two exceptions are one compound complex sentence in the fourth stanza, I will not cease

stanza or a full stanza. In the third stanza, however, the first three lines are one sentence, and the
fourth line is another sentence. As for syntactic structures, the first eight lines of the poem are
rhetorical questions. Each question is also an anaphora beginning with the word and. There is also an

The Anxiety Of Anti Semitism
What caused the arousal of anti Semitism in the late nineteenth century was not due to a close
examination of the Jewish customs or a vast plan to eliminate Jews from Germany. In fact the answer
is so much simpler and it is an issue that the world still finds at the route of it s problems today. A
word as simple as jealousy is the source of a hatred so strong that it ended up killing millions. Anti
Semitism is a product of the strongest type of jealousy, a jealousy that was rooted deep in Germany s
past only to resurface at times of injustice, as the German s saw it. The idea that jealousy is the route
of anti Semitism s spike in the late nineteenth century is arguable to many historians as it just seems
too simple of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This basic information that the Germans had made the Jewish community an easy target. The fact that
the Jews could partake in these horrible acts of sacrifice and murder is what made Germans believe
they were in the right. When trouble comes around, there has to be someone to point the finger of
blame at and who better to point the finger at than someone who was believed to have done horrible
things in the past? The Butcher s Tale only emphasizes the idea the all was well in the community
until something tragic happened and the blame had to be placed somewhere. The easiest solution was
to blame the Jews. While they had lived together without trouble for so long, there was still that
lingering idea that the Jews were trouble of some sort. Once the blame of the young boys death was all
but put on the Jewish community, it was that much easier to place the blame of other issues on them as
well. This deeply rooted hatred for the Jews brings us to the cause of anti semitism and more
specifically the rise in the late nineteenth century, jealousy. As a period of industrial growth began,
many changes occurred in the every day life of German and Jews. Because of Christian beliefs, many
Germans were religiously unable to hold certain jobs that required them to perform acts that went
against their ideals. This in turn lead to Jewish citizens filling these positions. The changes did not

The Greek Storage Jar ( Amphora ) Depicting Man And Boy
The Greek Storage Jar (Amphora) depicting man and boy was created around 550 540 BCE. It was
found in Ancient Greece. The amphora storage jar is made out of terracotta and it is eleven inches in
height. Then it was painted on with black and brown paint. This jars colors are used to create contrast,
the lines are used to unify it, the shapes on the object are the most important part of the image and
patterns are used on the jar to help fill the space on the jar. Therefore colors are used to create contrast.
There are three different colors on the jar: the natural color of the terracotta, the brown paint and the
black paint. Since terracotta is a neutral color it provides an excellent background for the painting.
Black is a very dark color and it makes the people and the designs stick out. People use black paint
when they want their design to be important. Brown is a neutral color and it is used to show the not so
prominent part of the image. The little bit of brown paint shows the ground the people are standing on.
It also unifies the other places where it appears. Looking at the top there is a pattern painted with both
the black and brown paint to show contrast. After contrast is seen unity is also seen with lines. Lines
are used to unify the artistic image on the Greek storage jar. The thicker the line the more important it
is, the thinner the line the less important it is. The lines create objects which then create the entire
image. Many different patterns are also

Mma Fighters Essay
MMA has been one of the fastest growing sports over the last 10 years. The UFC has gone from being
purchased for $2 million in 2001 to being sold in 2016 for $4 billion. This rapid growth has been
driven by the top athletes in the sport. In order for these fighters to be considered great they need to
have certain characteristics. When talking about the top MMA fighters of all time, they will always
have a legacy. George St. Pierre, who is considered by some to be the greatest of all time, has an
outstanding legacy. He is one of the only MMA fighters to retire on top. After a 6 year title reign in the

ability to sell fights with trash talk and back it up in the octagon with knockout after knockout. He has

90%. Possibly his most memorable fight was when he knocked out Jose Aldo for the featherweight
championship at UFC 194. Aldo had been undefeated for almost 10 years and Mcgregor only needed
13 seconds to knock him unconscious and take his belt. Anderson Silva is another very exciting
fighter. He has finished 26 out of his 33 wins. In his prime he was extremely dynamic and had an
awesome combination of speed and power, he would often wait for his opponents to attack before
counter striking and knocking them out. These abilities made him one of the most dangerous fighters
to set foot in the octagon. Matt Hughes on paper would not seem very exciting as he used a style of
wrestling and grappling. This style usually results in fighters who are not as fun to watch, however
Hughes was unique. His strength and athleticism enabled him to lift his opponents in the air and slam
with enough power to sometimes knock them out. He used these skills to put on great fights. These

The Digital Possession Of Human Since The 19th Century
1. Publishing is the process of making information available and present to the public. Making things
public or generally known has its impact on the society. When modes of publishing change, the
communicative aspect of the society changes. Information flows differently in the respective time, and
the movement has transformed the social interaction between people.

Photography is the common possession of human since the 19th century. The purposes of creating
photographs are numerous. The distinctiveness of photo taking creates different meaning, which had

SCD Compliance
Change is a hard concept for most, but change in the hospital setting can be beneficial for both staff
and patients. According to Mclean (2011), Every change begins with an ending (p.79). How people
respond to change can make the process easy or hard depending on how the change is presented.
Sequential Compression Devices (SCD s) mechanically replace normal muscle motion in the leg via a
cuff that inflates and deflates uniformly. This mechanical inflation and deflation keeps blood flowing
in the veins and prevents the formation of clots that can result in deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or
pulmonary embolism. SCD s are used as prophylaxis in patient groups with low to moderate risk of
DVT (Brady et al., 2007, p. 256). Patient compliance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Studies to show which type of leg compression device is optimal for DVT prevention are not
available. Knee length SCD s are more comfortable to patients, encourages higher levels of
compliance and also provide beneficial prophylaxis against DVT.
An informal survey of perioperative nurses, physicians and patients was performed regarding the use
of thigh length versus knee length SCD s. The surgical services management team, clinical nurse
educator, surgeons, and materials management were also involved in the process of using only knee
length SCD s on all surgical patients. The surgeons, staff, and patients were perceptive and willing to
use only knee length SCD s. The perioperative nurses were hesitant at times to call the physician for
an order to place knee length SCD s on the surgical patient. This was a barrier to the suggested change
project.
Havelock s model of change will be used for this project. Perception of need, diagnosis of the
problem, identification of the problem, devising a plan of action, gaining acceptance of the plan,
stabilization, and self renewal are all steps included in Havelock s model of change (Kearney
Nunnery, 2012). Leadership is also an important part of the change process. In order to have a positive
outcome, the leader must incorporate the staff in the change process.
Providing clarity about the change can improve the transition process. According to Mclean (2011),

Eager has multiple aspects of her image that strongly support a formalist viewpoint. Her artwork has
definite structural aspects that have a greater meaning then you originally think. To break down the
image in even more depth, when you first glance at the image, the first area that your eye is drawn to
is the tree, more specifically the tree branches. These branches are extremely textured, giving them
almost a true bark like appearance. The leaves on the upper left corner of the piece look like they are
almost protruding off of the rest of the image.
The form of this image also adds to its components of formal analysis. Form is based on color,
composition, texture and line. This image by Eager has all of these major elements. The composition
is constructed with purpose, to show the flow and depth growing throughout the image. There are
multiple lines in this art piece, the first can be seen through the top of the work, it goes through the
tops of the trees and atop the mountain peaks. Then, there are implied lines, one can be seen between
the mountain peaks coming towards the tree, or vice versa. The color scheme again follows her
depiction of living with Macular Degeneration, she lost the ability to see colors, and in her image, she
only used shades of greys and black. In order to combat the depth, she was losing

Questions On Quantitative And Qualitative Research
Other Approaches to Research In the 20th century researchers developed other research designs that
draw on quantitative and qualitative elements. Mixed methods, action research, and program
evaluation follow the research design process of quantitative and qualitative research. Action research
and program evaluation however are not applied research designs.
Mixed Methods As the name implies, mixed methods research combines both quantitative and
qualitative components to add depth and breadth to the research study (Laureate Education, Inc., n.d.

the research question that will guide the type of data collected, do an extensive literature ... Show

Like qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research, action researchers reflect on their practice,
and then define a problem within it, gather data, review the literature, identify colleagues who will
collaborate in the action research process, carry out the action plan, analyze the data, and form
possible conclusions (Lodico, Spaulding, Voegtle, 2010). Multiple types of data are collected.
Researchers use a triangulation matrix to corroborate their results. Unlike applied research, action
researchers do not use complicated statistical analysis to measure quantitative data. They also do not
provide the deep level of analysis found in qualitative research. However, action researchers can and
do use descriptive statistics, coding, and triangulation to detect possible themes that emerge from the
data, thereby ensuring their results are credible and dependable (Lodico, Spaulding, Voegtle, 2010).
There are two types of action research: critical action research and practical action research. In critical
action research, the researcher attempts to address major societal issues, such as sexism, racism, or
other types of injustice within an educational system (Lodico, Spaulding, Voegtle, 2010). In contrast,
practical action research involves making changes to educational systems, but the changes are smaller

Richard Cory Analysis Essay
In Edwin Robinson s Richard Cory, one major theme is envy. I struggle as a person with envying
others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also experienced
the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a story, or tells more,
a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can interpret it and relate it to
their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways Robinson relates to the reader, is
through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it is envy and those who possess the
envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it
nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11 and 12, In fine, we thought that he was
everything / To make us wish that we were in his place. These villagers envy Richard Cory, who they
laud like a king even though he is no greater than them, only in wealth. Everyone has envied another

The entire poem displays an ironic theme, but it first becomes apparent in the second stanza. The first
stanza Cory is described as a gentleman from sole to crown, / Clean favored and imperially slim, (line
3 and 4). Robinson uses words with a royal connotation to display just how much he is separate from
these villagers. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always quietly arrayed, / And
he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was said about him in the prior
verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends the poem adds on to the irony of
it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the poem by sharing that Cory kills himself.
The villagers wanted to be in this rich man s position, but did not realize that he also had struggles
even though he had money, that did not make his life

Finding DNA in a tissue is very essential for any experiment anyone can do. Looking for a certain
species can help identify dead bodies, animal type, and also the source of meat used in foods you eat
According to United States Government Accountability Office 48 million people become sick from
things you put and cook in food (United States Government Accountability Office 2013, pg. 3) For
example, Taco Bell has used horsemeat in their foods for years and this experiment proved it.
According to O Rourke taco bell has been using meat that is lower than dog food (O Rourke 2011, pg.
1). According to Kallupurackal, Kausel, Sulzer, Voegeli, and Kratzer extraction is very important in
forensic studies for casework samples that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

only is it a great source to use but it helps up learn about all kinds of species and were they come
from. According to Picou, Kheterpal, Gilman using eletropherogram to find out things about
Alzheimer s Disease (Picou, Kheterpal, Gilman 2012, pg.2). The National Center of Biotechnology
Information (NCBI) uses eletropherogram to provide genetic information. The NCBI also provides a
GeneBank a public available DNA sequence which contains over 65 billion and 200,0000 species.
However using those DNA sequences and putting them into a Basic Local Alignment Search Tool
(BLAST) a program that explores all the available sequence databases of DNA. Once is goes through
that BLAST there is a laser that will read it and there are different lengths. The different lengths if
there is enough fragments a peak will come up. Then many peaks will be seen which represents your
base pairs. A good peak will have very distinct peaks but a bad peak will be overlapping each other
and low wavy peaks or have many N s. Once you Once the BLAST in ran you will receive an
Expected value (E) and it should be very low. The E represents the background noise that exists for
matches between sequences. A query length will come up which is the number of base pairs in your
sequence. Then an accession number will appear and a scientific name will come up which you can

How Is Heathcliff A Double Character
Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights display of cultural and physical features of an environment
affecting one s character and moral traits is showcased through the first Catherine s development
throughout the novel. Catherine is forced to adopt a double character , as she lives as a rebellious,
passionate woman on the turbulent Wuthering Heights, while behaving politely and courtly on the
elegant Thrushcross Grange(Bronte, 48). Each of these environments also contains a love interest of
Catherine s, each man parallel with the characteristics of their environments: Heathcliff, the passionate
and destructive, residing in Wuthering Heights, while the civilized and gentle Edgar inhabits
Thrushcross Grange. Catherine s development in character due to her setting significantly contributes
to the theme that pursuing passionate love is dangerous, such as the love shared by Heathcliff and
Catherine.
When Catherine resides in Thrushcross Grange, her coarse demeanor is heavily augmented by the
values of the upper class. Catherine s return from a five weeks stay at Thrushcross Grange renders her
manners much improved and her appearance as a very dignified person (Bronte,37). Catherine proves
to be a proper, civil woman, when on the Grange, picking up on the well mannered tendencies of
Edgar and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disorderly atmosphere of Wuthering Heights, generated by Heathcliff s raucous behavior causes
Catherine to gravitate towards a more uncivilized and mannerless version of herself. Several times,
Catherine snaps at others and throws furious tantrums, as she scolds and even slaps Nelly for cleaning
in Edgar s prescence. The rambunctious setting of Wuthering Heights conjures a different Catherine,
where, to pracise politeness...would only be laughed at, influencing her to act on rebellious

Ways Of Classifying Superheroes
If someone is asked which superhero they d like to be, they might pick one in a few seconds. Picking
which superhero or even having one superpower is an important milestone in someone s life. There
are many ways to classify a superhero; what their powers are, if they wear capes or not, pre or post
comic movies, and how they became a superhero. The most important part is the categories of
superpowers. It s one of the various ways to decide which superhero to be. Classifying superheroes by
superpowers makes it easier to pick. The first type of superpower is one which changes your
appearance as a consequence. The Hulk, and the Thing, both from Marvel, are a part of this type. They
must transform into giant creatures to have their superpower. The Hulk and the Thing both have super
strength but the Hulk has to be big and green, while the Thing is covered with giant orange rocks. It d
be nice to have the strength but not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rogue and Cyclops, from Marvel, are stuck with powers they can t control. Rogue can absorb powers,
skills, and memories of someone by touch. She has no control over it, and is stuck without being able
to have physical contact with anyone. Cyclops is forced to wear a ruby quartz visor over his eyes to
hold his optic blasts in check. Another type of superpower requires one to temporarily change
appearance to use it. The Human Torch can fly, but only if he bursts into flames, and then he can take
off. The downside is that if he s using his power to fly, then everyone can easily see him. Though the
Human Torch can also ignite parts of his body, so he doesn t need to burst his whole body into flames.
The ability to shapeshift can also fit into this type. Shapeshifting isn t permanent, the hero can change
back into their original self. Mystique is able to transform into any person she chooses, mimicking the
appearance and voice of

McMahon Course: Sports in Culture Date: 6/5/2017 REFLECTION PAPER ON UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE The UEFA Champions League final is one of the most prestigious football events in Europe and the whole world. It attracts football fans from all across the world as European teams compete for the coveted Champions League trophy. In 2017, the final features Real Madrid from the Spanish La Liga and Juventus from the Italian Seria A. On the other hand, the Super Bowl is the yearly championship game of the National Football League (NFL). It signifies that the regular season has ended and culminates in the award of the Super Bowl trophy. Both events bear several similarities as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Several multinational companies sponsored the UEFA Champions League. According to the policies of the league, not more than eight companies should only sponsor a match. The game played on 3rd June 2017 was sponsored by Nissan, Heineken, MasterCard, Gazprom and PepsiCo companies. During the match, the companies were allocated advertising boards that were visible on the perimeter wall of the field used by the players. Similarly, in both leagues, fans remain cheerful all through to the end of the match. For example, even though Juventus fans were disappointed especially during the second half of the match, they cheered their team to the end. They encouraged the players to keep on until the end. When a group of people get together, with the same wants and needs, they become so motivated that they will not be stopped by anyone to change what must be changed. Throughout the mid 1800 s, to the mid 1900 s, black men and women, along with white women, were all struggling to change what they believed was wrong. While white women and African Americans both struggled to have equality with white men. Historic leaders like Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Frederick Douglass, are only three people, but influenced an entire nation to help make a great changes. In Sojourner Truth s speech, Ain t I a Woman? , Truth speaks out about women s equality. Truth tells her audience, And ain t I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! • 4. Three Values of Greek Society in the Odyssey Essay The world is full of wonders, but nothing is more wonderful than man. This quote shows that the Greeks valued themselves, but also their intellect in which they know that the world about them is great. The Greeks valued beauty, art, intellect, honor, and truth; the list is long. Some of these values are shown through the story of the Odyssey, which tells of the adventures of Odysseus and his family. In order to understand Greek values and how they are portrayed in Greek society, one must examine how some values are portrayed in the Odyssey: hospitality, intellect, and beauty. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of a lack of hospitality was when Odysseus and his men came upon the Kyklopes , and the one eyed monsters treated them terribly. On first sight they tried to kill Odysseus and all his men. The Greeks also valued intelligence and intellect. Although there were certain areas in Greece that valued it more than others, such as Athens, the Greeks were generally an intelligent race of people. An example from the Odyssey is when Penelope (Odysseus wife, Telemakhos mother) tells her suitors that she needs to finish weaving a shroud for an old man before she marries. She proceeds to weave on her loom every day, but unravels it during the night, so that she will never have to marry. Another example is when Odysseus finally arrives home, and he disguises himself so he can question people about his home and the situation, all without being noticed. In this way he gained information without revealing himself. Another important Greek value is beauty. The Greeks strived for the idealistic form in everything they did: art, literature, beauty, and even in the sciences. The Odyssey portrays Penelope to be an older woman, but a beautiful older woman, having a hall full of suitors wanting to marry her. Another example is when Athena changes Odysseus appearance in certain situations, usually making Odysseus look young and less hardened by all his traveling. • 17. The Improvisational Brain By Amanda Martinez Learning to create music or a speech spontaneously is not an easy task. Any professional musician will say that improvisation is not as easy as just making it up as one goes along. In fact, the musicians that make improvisation look simple are the ones who have put in countless hours of time and study to make it look effortless. The Improvisational Brain by Amanda Martinez tells about a neuroscientist that studied the science behind how the brain works in order to improvise. In order to be able to be a good improviser, one must learn to shut down the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and let the creativity and skill take over. What about those that have limited ability? Should they learn to improvise as well? One would argue that it is not important to learn to improvise, whether it be music or otherwise. However, improvising can give a person a sense of freedom from the ordinary. This notion of trying to tell your own story, without the constraints of caring how well it s going as you re saying it, was really pretty intriguing (Martinez p. 7). Although many struggle being able to shut down the part of your brain that allows one to improvise, it is important to teach children and adults alike how to improvise because it teaches creativity, divergent thinking, and encourages better communication skills. And Did Those Feet In Ancient Time Language, Usage, and Style in And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time In And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time, William Blake expertly combines language, usage, and style to create this short poem that would later become the preface to his epic Milton: a Poem. Blake puts emphasis on the narrator s diction, syntax, and tone to delineate the narrator s thoughts and feelings that complement his purpose in this poem. The diction in this poem is largely neutral, if not informal. Blake uses common vocabulary; however, he refrains from slang and colloquial diction. The narrator s language is strong, yet it is also lyrical as it was fit to be adapted into an anthem called Jerusalem by Sir Hubert Parry in 1916 (Dibble). The poem is written in first person, and there is no alternate dialogue. The narrator s diction is in a language that can be understood by the common Englishman. This is pertinent as the major themes of the poem are of biblical allusions, and the Bible has been translated for the common man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Anxiety Of Anti Semitism What caused the arousal of anti Semitism in the late nineteenth century was not due to a close examination of the Jewish customs or a vast plan to eliminate Jews from Germany. In fact the answer is so much simpler and it is an issue that the world still finds at the route of it s problems today. A word as simple as jealousy is the source of a hatred so strong that it ended up killing millions. Anti Semitism is a product of the strongest type of jealousy, a jealousy that was rooted deep in Germany s past only to resurface at times of injustice, as the German s saw it. When trouble comes around, there has to be someone to point the finger of blame at and who better to point the finger at than someone who was believed to have done horrible things in the past? The Butcher s Tale only emphasizes the idea the all was well in the community until something tragic happened and the blame had to be placed somewhere. The easiest solution was to blame the Jews. While they had lived together without trouble for so long, there was still that lingering idea that the Jews were trouble of some sort. Once the blame of the young boys death was all but put on the Jewish community, it was that much easier to place the blame of other issues on them as well. This deeply rooted hatred for the Jews brings us to the cause of anti semitism and more specifically the rise in the late nineteenth century, jealousy. As a period of industrial growth began, many changes occurred in the every day life of German and Jews. Because of Christian beliefs, many Germans were religiously unable to hold certain jobs that required them to perform acts that went against their ideals. The amphora storage jar is made out of terracotta and it is eleven inches in height. Then it was painted on with black and brown paint. This jars colors are used to create contrast, the lines are used to unify it, the shapes on the object are the most important part of the image and patterns are used on the jar to help fill the space on the jar. Therefore colors are used to create contrast. There are three different colors on the jar: the natural color of the terracotta, the brown paint and the black paint. Since terracotta is a neutral color it provides an excellent background for the painting. Black is a very dark color and it makes the people and the designs stick out. People use black paint when they want their design to be important. Brown is a neutral color and it is used to show the not so prominent part of the image. The little bit of brown paint shows the ground the people are standing on. It also unifies the other places where it appears. Looking at the top there is a pattern painted with both the black and brown paint to show contrast. After contrast is seen unity is also seen with lines. Lines are used to unify the artistic image on the Greek storage jar. The thicker the line the more important it is, the thinner the line the less important it is. According to Mclean (2011), Every change begins with an ending (p.79). How people respond to change can make the process easy or hard depending on how the change is presented. Sequential Compression Devices (SCD s) mechanically replace normal muscle motion in the leg via a cuff that inflates and deflates uniformly. This mechanical inflation and deflation keeps blood flowing in the veins and prevents the formation of clots that can result in deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism. SCD s are used as prophylaxis in patient groups with low to moderate risk of DVT (Brady et al., 2007, p. 256). Patient compliance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I struggle as a person with envying others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also experienced the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a story, or tells more, a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can interpret it and relate it to their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways Robinson relates to the reader, is through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it is envy and those who possess the envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11 and 12, In fine, we thought that he was everything / To make us wish that we were in his place. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always quietly arrayed, / And he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was said about him in the prior verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends the poem adds on to the irony of it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the poem by sharing that Cory kills himself.
