The Relationship Between Working Capital Management And...
The rapid and unpredictive business changes make the business markets all over the world more
competitive and exert competitive pressures on the firms. It is characterized by considerable amount
of uncertainty regarding the demand, market price, and availability of raw materials. The markets in
which real firms operate are not perfectly competitive. Hence this necessitates the firms to have
working capital to meet the demand. Working capital management is important part in industries
financial management decision. An optimal working capital management is expected to contribute

Wuthering Heights Juxtaposition
Emily Bronte s dramatic novel, Wuthering Heights, is a compelling look into the human nature of the
individual persona. Most of the novel could be used as an analysis of contrasts, the traits and
personalities that form in the environment of little rules found crafted in the novel are each as unique
as they are distinctive in how they represent themselves. Using the juxtaposition inherent in characters
personalities, such as Heathcliff and Edgar, and the differences presented by settings of both
Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, Bronte submits us to the extreme conflicts and emotions
that brood and grow with such polar characters. It s in the polarity itself that the novel finds its power,
using opposites of setting, personality, and traditional conventions Emily Bronte argues that humans
are inherently selfish, only thinking of themselves before others and as such can only operate in a ...

Edgar and Heathcliff are perfect examples of polar characters designed to create such conflict.
Heathcliff is and outcast of the Moors, refusing to conform to the lot he was given at the Heights as an
adopted son. He was never given a proper upbringing and suffers at the hands of his adopted brother
Hindley. This made him hardened, perhaps, to ill treatment: he would stand Hindley s blows without
winking or shedding a tear (Wuthering Heights 59). Without the proper influence of parents he
operates without moral restraints in the wilds of the Moors. He develops a cruel nature as a child and
has never been given a reason to act in any other way into adulthood. In a way, Heathcliff is a product
of his upbringing just as Edgar is. Edgar was a spoiled and indulged young boy at Thrushcross Grange
who developed into an

The American Electoral College
The Electoral College
Peter I. Chacko
The American Electoral College is the most confusing part of the American government. In addition,
Kenneth Davis, author of Don t Know Much About History, noted, Grown men turn weak and
stammer when asked who makes up the Electoral College. However, there will be an effort to clear
this enigma up for those who turn weak and stammer (2011, p. 653). America s election system is
important because their citizens need to know what they are doing on the first Tuesday after the first
Monday in November. The Electoral College has an interesting structure, procedure, and history,
while also serving America well.

They did not want the people to decide because they were not informed. They believed this because
much of the U.S. was rural in 1789. Others considered Congress picking the president as an erosion of
the separation of powers. The Convention compromised. The people would elect their party s electors,
and then vote (Davis, 2011, p. 653). However, there have been a few unexpected results of this
system. Four times in history, presidential candidates lost the popular vote, but won the Electoral
College and the election.
Although controversial, the Electoral College has both advantages and disadvantages. In his series on
Exploring Constitutional Law, Douglas O. Linder, explains the Electoral College protects minorities
from the majority. He shows that the states are important in electing our president. However, he states
that most Americans think that the popular vote makes more sense (n.d). A president can lose the
popular vote and win the election, which some people think is unfair. Still, as the adage goes, You don

The Benefits of Xenotransplantation Essay
The Benefits of Xenotransplantation
New technology has opened many doors of opportunity for advancements in medical science. Not
even in our wildest dreams would we have imagined a world where animal organs could be safely
transplanted into humans. A few years ago, this process called xenotransplantation, was completed for
the very first time. The only dilemma critics had with the process involved the chances of infection
and organ rejection from the patient. Through experimentation and advances made in the process,
these problems have been greatly reduced. Some doctors believe that xenotransplantation will perfect
our world one transplant at a time by providing an alternate route to waiting on donor lists.
Xenotransplantation is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of an experiment that lacks a purpose and may be open for ethical debate would be when
scientists blowtorched pigs with no painkillers and observed to see how they responded to third degree
burns (MacKenzie 424). Notice the difference between this experiment and research for
xenotransplantation? Experiments on animals for xenotransplantation research have a great use for
human medicine since the process may very well be our solution to lengthy donor lists and organ
shortages. An estimated 65,000 Americans suffering from organ failure are currently waiting for an
organ transplant and the number is continuously growing (Fung 54). Many people die each year
because suitable donors are not found in time, so any progress towards expanding the number of
organs available for transplantation will eventually save human lives. Since pigs are of similar size
and anatomy to humans they are the preferred animals for transplants, even over apes (Kaebnick 7).
The fact that pigs are used over apes actually suppresses animal rights activist s debate on the ethical
standpoint since pigs are not endangered.
Xenotransplantation is an important advancement in medical science because of the positive impacts
the process has on humans, such as saving lives and providing an alternative to waiting on a lengthy
donor list when

A History of Roller Coasters Essay
Roller coasters are one of the most popular rides when you go to an amusement park with everybody
in your family. Why are they so scary for some people while for others it is just another adrenaline
rush? Roller Coasters are one of the most complicated rides to build and to actually ride. There are
some people who just have fun building something to have a quick adrenaline rush before going to
work. Roller coasters have some of the most interesting design and history; they have become one of
the world s famous rides at every amusement park. The first real roller coaster was built in 1878 on
Coney Island which was built by La Marcus Thompson. The roller coaster was made out of wood and

Kids and parents would both have fun going on the ride together. The kiddie coaster was introduced
by Herb Schmeck. Most of the roller coaster wouldn t go any higher than forty feet up in the air. When
it came to the 1960 s amusement parks were fighting to see who had the best roller coasters. It had
turned into an arms race for amusement parks in the US. Over sixteen million dollars was used that
year to help create new parks and rides. Places like Six Flags had become very big, to the point where
they started to expand in 1963 which was huge. This meant they had three parks they were running in
the US. Wooden roller coasters also dominated the 60 s because they were brought to a whole new
level. They had become faster and you were able to create more effects with the railway. You were
able to drop a hundred feet down and go under another part of the track, without getting hurt. When it
came to the 1970 s nothing much happened except for what is known as the baby boom of amusement
parks. Amusement parks were popping up everywhere in the US. Six Flags had become an amusement
park chain for the country and other parks were popping up everywhere. The biggest part about this
boom was what type of roller coasters people were building. Steel roller coasters were popping up
everywhere in the country and they were nothing like anyone had seen before. They were faster than

Spleen
A number of anomalies have been found in the cat through out the dissection sessions. The anomalies
were an enlarged spleen, enlarged thymus and enlarged lymph nodes.
3.1 The Spleen
The spleen is an organ of the immune system (lymphatic system). It function is filter the blood and
maintain it in a healthy way. The spleen produces two types of pulp to perform its function, the red
and the white pulp (Goodenough McGuire, 2014). The red pulp filters the damaged blood cells,
palates and foreign materials in the blood, so it recycles the blood. On other hand, the white pulp is
composed from lymphocytes, macrophages and plasma cells that help clean the blood. These two
pulps work interchangeably to make sure the blood is filtered completely from any foreign materials
and dead cells.
Splenomegaly, which is the enlargement of the spleen, could happen due to four main causes, which
were cancer, infection, liver or blood diseases (Kuntz, 2006). An enlarged spleen causes
hypersplenism; it is a process where the spleen increases the filtration process of the blood cells. This
causes the spleen to recycle more blood and consider it to be a foreign material. Consequently, more

system. There might have been an infection, lymphoma or inflammation of the nodes in the

Pokemon Go Thesis
Imagine having a powerful, fantastic creature at your side who will fight for you. This became a
dream for many kids with the card game, tv show and video game in the world of Pokemon. Now with
Pokemon Go, anyone can join that world for free (Hook). Pokemon Go is an app for smartphones that
uses GPS to allow people to go outside and find their own pokemon. No longer are people sitting on a
couch inside staring at a screen, dreaming of a different world. Now they can go outside, get some
exercise and feel all the excitement and anxiety of a real pokemon trainer. The popularity of the app
was proven by how many people downloaded it immediately (Discussion). Pokemon Go was an idea
that exploded and spread throughout the nation, appealing to young children and settled adults alike
(Thesis). Pokemon Go built upon platforms of past videogames and GPS, was the next step in the
realm of pokemon media, exapted cell phones and games to be a way to encourage people outdoors
and exercise in a world where everything is leading indoors, and used liquid networks to reach as high
as it could (Essay Map).
Pokemon Go was developed from layers of platforms already formed and used ideas that a new idea
builds upon, especially those that have created the present video game culture (Topic Sentence).
Pokemon had an advantage in this because the original Pokemon Company was created in Japan,
which had managed to nurse a mobile game culture earlier than competing countries (Supporting

Armenia Genocide Dbq
In a letter to Cleveland Hoadley Dodge on May 11th, 1918 the 26th US President Theodore Roosevelt
in less than a year before his death made a prophetic prediction: ... the Armenian massacre was the
greatest crime of the war (WWI), and failure to act against Turkey is to condone it; because the failure
to deal radically with Turkish horror means that all talk of guaranteeing the future peace of the world
is mischievous nonsense . The prediction was right.

Stewart is having a good time with her girlfriend Alicia Cargile after admitting their relationship
publically and her ex girlfriend Soko, with whom she shared a brief relationship, does not have any
problem with the pair. Soko is not at all bitter and does not have any plans to write a bitter breakup
ballad, Gossip Cop has learned. A credible source from Soko s circle has said that she is not even in
the studio to work on her new record, leave alone penning a breakup song. She is busy promoting her
two films The Stopover and The Dancer that debuted at Cannes in May. Soko will return to the studio
only after the promotions are over and start working on her music so that her new record may come
out in March 2017. As far as her relationship with Stewart and the consequent heartbreak is
concerned, the duo did not share a long enough relationship to write a song about it. It was very short
and therefore, neither Stewart nor her fans need to worry about any Taylor Swift kind of burn ballad.

Discrimination Against Teenage Girls In School Dress Codes
Discrimination Against Teenage Girls in School Dress Codes
Dress codes in middle and high schools are a form of discrimination against teenage girls in today s
society. Parents and students all over the country argue that dress codes are directed mainly at girls
and are a blatant example of gender inequality. The idea behind the strict enforcement of a dress code
is that it will teach self respect and raise moral standards for the students. However, when the reason
for many dress code violations is questioned the rationale is often to prevent distracting the male
students. Young women across the country are being shamed and punished for wearing what schools
consider immodest and being a distraction to their male peers. This discrimination against female
students results in their clothes being strictly regulated and dress coded more often than male students
clothes are. The enforcement of these discriminatory dress codes has become a form of public
humiliation for female students. Theoretically, a dress code makes sense and should be effective. In
reality, it does not affect how students dress but causes a distraction and interruption of a girl s
education.
Today s fashion trends, such as leggings, yoga pants, shorter skirts, booty shorts, form fitting shirts,
and spaghetti straps, have sparked controversy in schools. They have been banned from a great many.

Risk Is An Unspoken Meaning
At risk has an unspoken meaning. At risk is synonymous with at risk youth in Western Culture. At risk
is a phrase used in human services, the media, academia and government to identify young people
who are troubling or on the fringe of risky behavior. If you do a Google search of the phrase at risk
over 13 million images will appear most of which are of young people. Risk Discourse creates a risk
society in response to specific populations being on the fringe of what is deemed normal within
society. Risk discourse is a popular modernity term written at length by Modernist such as Ulrich
Beck and Anthony Giddens European Sociologists. A Risk Society was not even a term until the
1980s. In the 1990s Risk Society became popular and it acceptance coincided with the infiltration of
Risk Discourse into sociology, politics, literature and academia. There is an ongoing debate as to
whether environmental concerns created a vacuum for a risk society or if it was a by product of
immigration and the War on Drugs. Either way Risk Discourse and risk society language terms are
here to stay. Peter Kelly poses a question asking if young people are a society s most precious resource
then what does society need to do to adequately utilize this resource. He separates young people into
categories of income, young people are exposed to high risk setting more frequently than high income
youths. Peter Kelly makes this separation to demonstrate there is inadequate research available on

Gender Role Development
I am a man, or maybe I m a male, no wait I am a guy, although my parents still call me a boy, unless

and I can see why this confusion exists we have some males wearing women s apparel and some

She also was the leader of the house. She pretty well told my dad who, what, where, when, and how.
My mother also takes care of the finances, although my dad is the major breadwinner. My dad was
also the non confrontational parent. I feel I am a good blend of my parents. I seemed to have inherited
and learned most of their good traits without taking on their bad ones.
In school I was the a typical boy. I was around a lot of boys when I was young mainly due to
participation in sports. When I got out of the athletic crowd I got into the artsy crowd. Through my
high school years due to the crowd of girls and non Neanderthal guys I hang around I was wrote off as
a homosexual by people who didn t know me. In my school any guy who participated in speech and
drama was pretty much thought of as queer. Unfortunately what the guys who wrote me off as
homosexual failed to see was that being in drama meant spending time around numerous beautiful
talented young girls, and not only that the boy to girl ratio at speech tournaments was about 3 to 1
favoring the girls, which turned out to be pretty good odds even for a fat kid.

Essay Shield of Achilles and the Shield of Aeneas
A Comparative Study of the Shield of Achilles and the Shield of Aeneas
In Homer s great work, the Iliad, Achilles is given a set of armor, including a glorious shield which
allows him to return to battle and carry out his revenge against Hector. Likewise, in Virgil s Aeneid,
Aeneas is sent a shield for the purpose of aiding him in defending Rome from invasion. However,
these shields are made special not by their military value, but by the engravings that decorate their
surfaces.
Achilles shield holds engravings of common life during his time: farmers plowing the land, young
men and women dancing in the vineyards, scenes of the countryside, slaves working for their kings,
and armies fighting each other. On the other hand, Aeneas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And there were young men on it and young girls, sought for their beauty with gifts of oxen, dancing,
and holding hands at the wrist (Il., 18.590 594). In fact, the majority of the shield depicts common
Greek life; this being a quality that distinguishes Achilles shield from those of other famous warriors
and heroes. Epics and their heroes usually involve gods and god like feats, which are still true in the
Iliad, yet the engravings on this shield are an oxymoron of that style. Edwards best describes this in
stating, Like an enormous simile, the scenes on the shield hold the narrative still for a while as we
gaze at them; and the content is like that of a simile, too it is the ordinary life of mankind that we
observe, not that of heroes or gods (278).
The shield is unique for the engravings it bears on its surface, however, its greater significance lies in
what it represents, especially to Achilles being. At her son s birth, Thetis knew that Zeus had fated
Achilles to die if he spilled Hector s blood. Despite warning him of this, Thetis could not sway her son
s decision to avenge Patrocles and kill Hector. Therefore, it is known from this point on that Achilles
would soon die. Once he puts on the new armor, Achilles accepts his impending doom, and even
accepts it earlier as he speaks to his mother, saying,

Theme Of Alienation In A Thousand Splendid Suns
In A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini, and Master Harold ...and the boys, by Athol
Fugard, alienation is definitely one of the most apparent themes because in both books the main
characters are always told that they are different like when Mariam is called harami and when Sam
and Willy are discriminated by Hally. In both of these texts, the main characters are alienated in a way
that made them feel so different to the point where it affected their lives because they always felt like
they are incapable. In A Thousand Splendid Suns, after Mariam was always called a harami, meaning
bastard in Arabic, by Nana, she always thought that this small thing somehow made her incapable of
going to school and other simple things in life. In Master Harold ...and the boys, Sam and Willie,
mainly Sam, was always being discriminated by Hally. Due to this, Hally made Sam feel like he was
incapable of doing certain things, like winning a dance competition. These examples of alienation and
much more are evident in both texts and actually change the meaning of the story because it influences
the way the characters act and live their lives. This depends on how the characters are treated, and
what they are made to feel like they can not do. Starting off with A Thousand Splendid Suns, Mariam
was always called a Harami by her mother. After constantly hearing this while growing up, Mariam
thought that it was a big deal because that is the reason she is unable to live with or see

Sportsmanship And Sportsmanship Of A Team
Sportsmanship All athletes can recognize that being a part of a team is hard. It is incredibly difficult to
select a group of teenagers that will (1) all get along, (2) work together seamlessly, and (3) respect
their coaches. The formula for the perfect team is unknowable. One negative spirit always exists to
drag the team down, to deflate their motives and increase their egos; but that does not have any effect
on the sportsmanship of a team. Sportsmanship does not rely on the cohesiveness of a team. It does
not correlate with how many bonding trips a team endures or how many groups of friends are on the
team. It is not entirely internal or entirely external. Sportsmanship is not simply the willingness of an

To His Coy Mistress By Marvell
Examine the view that Marvell presents love as entirely physical Although the role of sexual
intercourse within the context of love is heavily emphasized by Marvell in To His Coy Mistress ,
suggesting that the Carpe Diem poem presents love as solely physical is arguably hyperbolic. Marvell
s structural establishment of a perpetual hypothetical implicitly addresses the nature of romantic
asexual love and presents it as something fundamentally positive. This is structurally established in the
first verse through Marvell s diction choice of had we and continually utilized until the twentieth line.
A hypothetical context is essentially presented to the love interest addressed in the dramatic
monologue, where Marvell and his lover have enough World and Time and her sexual coyness ...

Ultimately, this is due to Marvell and the addressee lacking the time to pursue these endeavours. This
becomes clear to the reader in verse 21, where Marvell metaphorically alludes to the Olympian deity
Apollo, through the symbolic establishment of time s winged Charriot hurrying near . Within the
context of the poem, this metaphor ultimately introduces a sharp tonal shift between the hypothetical
nature of the poem and the realism of the current situation. The shift in tone is further enforced by
Marvell s employment of the motif of death in line 27, where the grotesque imagery of worms
essentially deflowering his lover in the grave establishes juxtaposing connotations to Marvell s
hypothetical promise to love his mistress until the end of time in verse 10. Furthermore, it reinforces
the critical lack of time Marvell and the addressee have together as the lover will inevitably die,
inherently providing an essential argument to the addressee to indulge in sexual intercourse with

while this event has made progress in choosing speakers, facilitating productive conversations, and
providing topical breakout sessions, many students still feel frustrated due to unproductive
conversations that left out many groups that experience bias on campus. Most importantly, many
students feel that these days do little to address these issues on campus, that they don t have a chance
to be heard, and that one day of dialogue is not enough to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What particularly resonated with me about Leslie Williams speech was the discussion about
uncomfortable conversations about privilege and recognizing our own biases. By describing her
personal experiences, Leslie Williams emphasized that students of color, LGBTQIA+ students,
disabled students, and others often feel uncomfortable and isolated because of their identities.
Although many students feel uncomfortable speaking about these topics, admitting that we are
privileged, and recognizing that we grow up with different biases, other students feel this discomfort
every day and aren t able to escape it after Day of Dialogue ends. Although I often feel uncomfortable
admitting my own privilege, I think it is important to acknowledge that some of us have the privilege
to avoid these awkward conversations when they make us uncomfortable while other students have to
live with this discomfort every day. Avoiding these conversations not only limits our capacity for
change, but also our own understanding of how our identities are shaped by society. Though
uncomfortable, these are necessary conversations that push us to reflect on our own experiences,
admit our own biases, and have effective conversations in order to create more equality on campus.
These same themes of acknowledging privilege and the importance of stories were emphasized during
the breakout session with Peggy McIntosh: From

Desensitization In Heart Of Darkness
The world will remain as brutal as our level of desensitization to its brutality. (Unknown) Many
humans in this world no longer feel shock or distress at scenes of cruelty, violence, or suffering as they
are overexposed to such images. In other words, these people have become desensitized and display
no empathy towards others. In the event that one is exposed to these types of surroundings on a
regular basis they begin to adapt and become unaware of how heinous their actions actually are.
Though not everyone partakes in these atrocious acts of violence, they are still in the wrong as they
are simply bystanders watching the victims being abused. In essence desensitization causes humans to
adapt, become callous to their surroundings, and become apathetic towards the others right to live.
Adaptation is the action or process in which an organism becomes suited to its environment. As an
illustration, this article on violence in prison focuses on the idea that one adapts to their surroundings
and gets used to what is happening around them. I learned to adapt to my situation, but adaptation
came at a cost. I became desensitized to the violence that I witnessed around me (Papa, 2016). This
shows that the men in prison have become immune to the events that are occurring. The biggest
adaptation seen in The Heart of Darkness is in Marlow as he not only becomes desensitized to
brutality in the Congo, but also adapts his morals to fit the circumstances as well. You know I

Driving At A Young Age
Do you think that 16 year old kids are not able to learn how to drive? Some people say that 16 year
olds should not be allowed to drive because of safety concerns. They are never going to learn to
overcome safety concerns at 16 and then when they are 18 there will be the same problems. Therefore
kids should learn to drive at 16. Learning how to deal with things at a young age is important for adult
knowledge. Learning how to deal with problems at a young age gives people the ability to solve
problems that may come up in their adult lives. Also if you learn at an early age it gives you life
experience. For instance learning how to stop in different situations at a young age will give them
experience to make better stopping decisions as an

The Bob Ross Painting Method
Bob Ross and his happy little friends have introduced millions of PBS viewers to the world of art. Bob
may be gone but his gentle legacy of painting technique continues to charm and instruct. Not only are
there books and DVDs available, but a full line of Bob Ross painting supplies are sold on line and in
select venues. There are also over 3000 certified Bob Ross instructors nationwide and internationally.
How Does He Do That?
The Bob Ross painting method is the wet in wet technique. Artists have used this method for hundreds
of years, and for the oil painter is the fastest method to use.

colors on his palette. He also has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This results in the edges remaining crisp while the bulk of the mountain takes on a misty, grayed
appearance, due to the blending of the background paint into the dark of the mountain paint.
Evergreen Trees
Just as with clouds, Bob uses the fan brush to paint evergreen trees. The paint is heavily loaded onto a
fan brush. Using the edge lay a very fine vertical line to represent the treetop. Use the corner to dab
tiny bits of paint to represent the uppermost branches of the tree on the sides of the vertical line. As the
artist progresses down the trunk, he applies more pressure and uses more of the edge of the brush. Use
a choppy, erratic motion to emulate the uneven, jagged shapes of the evergreen. The underlying layer
of paint will blend with the tree color as the brush runs out of paint. Add more as necessary, but do not
try to keep all the branches the same color. This is representational, and not meant to be graphically
correct. It is the essence of the tree and there is no need to go for authenticity.
Wildlife
In the Ross method of painting wildlife, preparation is different from painting landscapes. The canvas
is thinly coated with grey gesso and allowed to dry thoroughly. Draw or transfer the subject to the
canvas using graphite carbon paper.
Rather than using the wet in wet technique, this painting starts with an underpainting of the animal
using grey, black and white acrylic paint. The student proceeds with oils

A single strand of hair waved in front of my eyes as the breeze pushed it back and forth. Annoyed, I
ran my hand through the wet mop atop my head, pushing it back to make it appear somewhat kempt.
You need a haircut. My cousin threw me a warm, white towel. With the skill of a professional football

Mid thought, they all climbed out of the jacuzzi, leaving me sitting there by myself. I watched them

As time passed, they continued to get further away. I could not do anything as the distance between us

Recreational Vehicle Industry Analysis
The Recreational Vehicle Industry
MGT 698
5 October 2011
For most people, the recreational vehicle (RV) industry is a large subject to wrap their heads around
due to the rather vast array of products associated with the term recreational vehicle . When
conducting web searches for information regarding the recreational vehicle industry I found it a little
bit overwhelming in that it contained everything from a Ski Doo Grand Touring luxury snow machine
to a 27 Peterbilt 379X with a custom 53 Elite tri axle car hauler/conversion apartment sleeper. To
narrow, and better define, this industry the definition of recreational vehicle will be a motorized or
towable vehicle that incorporates living spaces and home like amenities.

Of the 900 companies involved in this industry only the top 20 manufacturers hold 80% of the total
market which includes approximately $10 billion in sales. The major manufacturers all produce
numerous models of both motorhomes and travel trailers and utilize easily reconfigurable production
assembly lines with relatively small production runs per model. Dealer orders are the catalyst to
reconfigure assembly lines and produce individual models. In 2008 and 2009 orders and sales were
low, but like a lot of other industries 2010 saw a very robust growth spurt totaling 46.2% over the
previous two years. Total shipments were reported at 243,000 units which encompassed a retail value
increase of 69.5%, more than $8.7 billion. Even further, Richard Curtain has predicted through
analysis conducted by his economic research team at the University of Michigan that RV shipments
will increase 7.4% in 2011 over the previous year. This is due to the customer base that this market is
able to bring to the table. Not long ago the customer base was strictly wealthier, retired couples over
the age of 55 years old but the current customer profile has ownership of RV s spread across all tiers
of age with the highest percentile being in the range of 35 54 year old couples with an average of three
vehicles and an average household income of $70,000. As quoted on a popular RV ing

Why Lily s Father Prevented Her From Going For Grammar...
6. I believe that Lily s father prevented her from going to grammar school for a variety of reasons.
One would be that he saw her as mainly a source of income and looked at the here and now value of
her work, rather than her getting a better job in the future. Second, he felt insulted because his kid
would get a better job than what he had and he had never had the privilege to go to a nice school
because he had been deprived of his childhood. He felt that if he couldn t have it then she couldn t
either. To a certain degree, je must ve felt jealousy and anger. His pride was insulted because so many
people forgot about him and never even gave him a chance; they just forced him to do things and here
his children were, privileged and they didn t even realize how lucky they were.
7. The war changed the talk of the town significantly. War forces people to look death and loss in the
eye. When people look death in the eye, they often become their true selves. When they looked
around, they stopped seeing the petty lines but instead saw people as they truly were: no better or
worse than the other. They saw how similar they all were: they all had something to lose. They all
shared the same fear of death, losing their belongings, and losing one another. They were forced to
figure out the truth in things rather than the facades everyone puts up. They were united as a country
rather than separated by a religion. They stopped their judgments. The wall was still there, but the war

The Elements Of Satire In Gulliver s Travels
Authors write in many different forms and use many different elements in their works. One of these
elements that writers use is called satire. This element is used to make fun of something that the author
disapproves of in a comical but hidden way. Widely considered as one of the greatest satirists to ever
live, Jonathan Swift used satire in his works to express his disgust in society and the British Monarchy
during the 18th century. One of the greatest satires ever written by Swift was Gulliver s Travels. In
Gulliver s Travels, satire is evident through Gulliver s voyage to Lilliput, his dialogue with Lilliput s
emperor, and his time spent within the kingdom of Brobdingnag.
First introduced in ancient Greece in 423 B.C., satire is a literary technique in which behaviors or
institutions are ridiculed for the purpose of improving society (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Comic
playwright Aristophanes introduced satire through his play The Clouds in 423 B.C. by using the
literary technique to compare Socrates to Atheists. In the case of Aristophanes and many other
satirists, the target is often a social or political one (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Aristophanes play The
Wasps in 422 B.C. brings this into perspective as he satirises about his disapproval with the Athenian
court system. Great satirists like Aristophanes, Horace, Juvenal, Shakespeare, Swift, and Pope have
...sought to protect their highly developed civilization...by attacking hypocrisy, arrogance, greed,
vanity, and stupidity (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Many authors and playwrights began to study satire
and how to use it effectively to point out issues in society and in their governments but to do so in a
more hidden and comedical way, what sets satire apart from other forms of social and political protest
is humor (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Jonathan Swift ultimately gripped the idea of satire and wrote one
of the greatest satires ever in Gulliver s Travels where, ...he vents his fury at political corruption and
his annoyance with general worthlessness of human beings (Allen 620). Swift expresses these feelings
multiple times in the book in many different ways.

Jealousy In Othello
Analyzing William Shakespeare s Othello
There are many different emotions like sadness, happiness, and joyfulness just to name a few that
people can experience. One of the most powerful and sometimes dangerous emotions is Jealousy.
Jealousy is a powerful emotion that most people experience at some point in their life. However, not
everyone is affected in the same way. Some people are filled with insecurity. While others are filled
with fear. Most people experience anger. In William Shakespeare s Othello the audience learns
through the characterization of Othello and Iago, the symbolism of the handkerchief, and through
Othello denying that he is jealous we learn that jealousy can make people behave irrationally in
certain circumstances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Othello s mom gave Othello the handkerchief, and told him to give it to his wife if he should be

evidence of exactly the opposite nature (Boose 270). This indicates that the handkerchief was a sign of
her love but will transform into a sign of her adultery. Although the audience knows that Othello is

The Link Between Nazi Propaganda And The Holocaust Essay
Hitler believed that propaganda from the allies was the main reason that the Germans lost during
World War I and felt that this form of warfare needed to be a primary tool in modern warfare. He
spoke of this belief in his book Mein Kampf well before the start of the second World War. Hitler felt
that the public needed to be inundated with the ideology of the state at all times and through all
mediums (Jowett and O Donnell 2). To do this, he said everything from child s story book to the last
newspaper, every theater, every cinema and every advertisement must be brought into the service of
this single mission (qt. in Qualter ix). This onslaught of propaganda led to the Holocaust by leaving no
other option open to the German people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Nazi s did use propaganda in this negative sense but in an underhanded and subversive way. They
backed up all their false reports with scientific studies and claims of a better human race.
Propaganda is hard to define as most definitions do not cover the full meaning of the word. The
Webster s Illustrated Encyclopedic Dictionary defines propaganda as the systematic propagation or
discrediting of a given doctrine or cause by circulation of polemical material, such as posters and
leaflets (1353). However, this definition does not cover the full scope of the of the word. Terence
Qualter also feels the definition for propaganda needs to be more refined for its new usage. The
definition that he gives is the deliberate attempt...(to) form, control, or alter the attitudes of other
groups...(with) the use of the instruments of communication (27 28). He goes on to say that the
propaganda must be aimed at the group in general because that is the basic nature of the word, in that
the most effective propaganda is the propaganda which has a large audience. Qualter does mention,
however, that there need be no difference in the propaganda to persuade one and the propaganda to
persuade the many (28). Germany did this by controlling the flow of information into the country.

Descriptive Essay About Trail Riding
Do you ever have a dream where you re falling, and it feels so real that your body wakes you up? Well
this was not a dream. I was falling, and there was no bed for me to wake up in.
Growing up I was always around horses. My mom got into horses as a teenager, and they never left
her heart. The minute I was born I was put up in the saddle. Where most families would bond by going
swimming, hiking, or to watch a movie, my family bonded by going horseback riding. (Or as we call
it, trail riding.) The first horse I remember riding was a beautiful mare (girl horse) named Angel. She
was a sweet old white quarter horse who took care of everyone who rode her. I went on many trail
rides with her and when she passed away I learned at the early age of six that people s deaths aren t
the only deaths we morn. Eventually I moved on and started riding a new horse whose name was
Tanka.
Tanka was a stubborn and sassy sorrel mare. I really didn t ride her on my own because she probably
would ve taken advantage of me being a beginner. Since I couldn t ride her on my own my sister Lisa
usually rode along on Tanka while I sat behind the saddle, holding on to the edge of it for dear life.
One cloudy mid September day my mom decided we should go on a trail ride. Since we didn t have
enough horses for everyone who wanted to come on the ride, my mom came up with a plan.
She planned that me, Lisa, and my mom s friend Lori should ride down the road to meet my mom and
her other friends at their house

Learning Disabilities
1. There is no such thing as a typical student with a learning disability
This represents to me how diverse and complex those individuals with learning disabilities can be in
their capabilities and in the ways that they need support. They can have a learning disability that
affects their academic achievement and memory, along with how they process information, and so
much more. One student could have a learning disability that affects their achievement with
mathematics but not their reading or language abilities, and vice versa. Short term, long term, and
working memory can also be affected to varying degrees, and this will be different from student to
student. One thing that is typical of students with learning disabilities is that they would probably have
average to above average intelligence. However, their academic achievement often shows a deficit of
a lower level of intelligence, depending on where their difficulties or challenges are within academics.
Emotionally and socially, students will also range in their abilities to make and keep friends, might
have classroom behavior problems, might have anxiety, but also might have no social and emotional
struggles at all. To me, it depends greatly on the support that they receive at home starting out and
within the school while they are learning. The more we support these students the less likely they will
be to have as many social and emotional issues, along with grow and develop academic skills while
being held to

No matter how many different qualities you have, you are beautiful the way you are, no matter what

Silko would always have flashbacks about them. Her grandmother had passed, and she will talk about

  • 3. Wuthering Heights Juxtaposition Emily Bronte s dramatic novel, Wuthering Heights, is a compelling look into the human nature of the individual persona. Most of the novel could be used as an analysis of contrasts, the traits and personalities that form in the environment of little rules found crafted in the novel are each as unique as they are distinctive in how they represent themselves. Using the juxtaposition inherent in characters personalities, such as Heathcliff and Edgar, and the differences presented by settings of both Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, Bronte submits us to the extreme conflicts and emotions that brood and grow with such polar characters. It s in the polarity itself that the novel finds its power, using opposites of setting, personality, and traditional conventions Emily Bronte argues that humans are inherently selfish, only thinking of themselves before others and as such can only operate in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edgar and Heathcliff are perfect examples of polar characters designed to create such conflict. Heathcliff is and outcast of the Moors, refusing to conform to the lot he was given at the Heights as an adopted son. He was never given a proper upbringing and suffers at the hands of his adopted brother Hindley. This made him hardened, perhaps, to ill treatment: he would stand Hindley s blows without winking or shedding a tear (Wuthering Heights 59). Without the proper influence of parents he operates without moral restraints in the wilds of the Moors. He develops a cruel nature as a child and has never been given a reason to act in any other way into adulthood. In a way, Heathcliff is a product of his upbringing just as Edgar is. Edgar was a spoiled and indulged young boy at Thrushcross Grange who developed into an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The American Electoral College The Electoral College Peter I. Chacko The American Electoral College is the most confusing part of the American government. In addition, Kenneth Davis, author of Don t Know Much About History, noted, Grown men turn weak and stammer when asked who makes up the Electoral College. However, there will be an effort to clear this enigma up for those who turn weak and stammer (2011, p. 653). America s election system is important because their citizens need to know what they are doing on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The Electoral College has an interesting structure, procedure, and history, while also serving America well. The Electoral College is a voting method used by the United States of America. On the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November on a leap year, eligible American citizens go to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They did not want the people to decide because they were not informed. They believed this because much of the U.S. was rural in 1789. Others considered Congress picking the president as an erosion of the separation of powers. The Convention compromised. The people would elect their party s electors, and then vote (Davis, 2011, p. 653). However, there have been a few unexpected results of this system. Four times in history, presidential candidates lost the popular vote, but won the Electoral College and the election. Although controversial, the Electoral College has both advantages and disadvantages. In his series on Exploring Constitutional Law, Douglas O. Linder, explains the Electoral College protects minorities from the majority. He shows that the states are important in electing our president. However, he states that most Americans think that the popular vote makes more sense (n.d). A president can lose the popular vote and win the election, which some people think is unfair. • 5. The Benefits of Xenotransplantation Essay The Benefits of Xenotransplantation New technology has opened many doors of opportunity for advancements in medical science. Not even in our wildest dreams would we have imagined a world where animal organs could be safely transplanted into humans. A few years ago, this process called xenotransplantation, was completed for the very first time. The only dilemma critics had with the process involved the chances of infection and organ rejection from the patient. Through experimentation and advances made in the process, these problems have been greatly reduced. Some doctors believe that xenotransplantation will perfect our world one transplant at a time by providing an alternate route to waiting on donor lists. Xenotransplantation is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of an experiment that lacks a purpose and may be open for ethical debate would be when scientists blowtorched pigs with no painkillers and observed to see how they responded to third degree burns (MacKenzie 424). Notice the difference between this experiment and research for xenotransplantation? Experiments on animals for xenotransplantation research have a great use for human medicine since the process may very well be our solution to lengthy donor lists and organ shortages. An estimated 65,000 Americans suffering from organ failure are currently waiting for an organ transplant and the number is continuously growing (Fung 54). Many people die each year because suitable donors are not found in time, so any progress towards expanding the number of organs available for transplantation will eventually save human lives. Since pigs are of similar size and anatomy to humans they are the preferred animals for transplants, even over apes (Kaebnick 7). The fact that pigs are used over apes actually suppresses animal rights activist s debate on the ethical standpoint since pigs are not endangered. Xenotransplantation is an important advancement in medical science because of the positive impacts the process has on humans, such as saving lives and providing an alternative to waiting on a lengthy donor list when ... Why are they so scary for some people while for others it is just another adrenaline rush? Roller Coasters are one of the most complicated rides to build and to actually ride. There are some people who just have fun building something to have a quick adrenaline rush before going to work. Roller coasters have some of the most interesting design and history; they have become one of the world s famous rides at every amusement park. The first real roller coaster was built in 1878 on Coney Island which was built by La Marcus Thompson. The roller coaster was made out of wood and went down hill. Kids and parents would both have fun going on the ride together. The kiddie coaster was introduced by Herb Schmeck. Most of the roller coaster wouldn t go any higher than forty feet up in the air. When it came to the 1960 s amusement parks were fighting to see who had the best roller coasters. It had turned into an arms race for amusement parks in the US. Over sixteen million dollars was used that year to help create new parks and rides. Places like Six Flags had become very big, to the point where they started to expand in 1963 which was huge. This meant they had three parks they were running in the US. Wooden roller coasters also dominated the 60 s because they were brought to a whole new level. They had become faster and you were able to create more effects with the railway. You were able to drop a hundred feet down and go under another part of the track, without getting hurt. When it came to the 1970 s nothing much happened except for what is known as the baby boom of amusement parks. Amusement parks were popping up everywhere in the US. Six Flags had become an amusement park chain for the country and other parks were popping up everywhere. The biggest part about this boom was what type of roller coasters people were building. • 7. Spleen A number of anomalies have been found in the cat through out the dissection sessions. The anomalies were an enlarged spleen, enlarged thymus and enlarged lymph nodes. 3.1 The Spleen The spleen is an organ of the immune system (lymphatic system). It function is filter the blood and maintain it in a healthy way. The spleen produces two types of pulp to perform its function, the red and the white pulp (Goodenough McGuire, 2014). The red pulp filters the damaged blood cells, palates and foreign materials in the blood, so it recycles the blood. On other hand, the white pulp is composed from lymphocytes, macrophages and plasma cells that help clean the blood. These two pulps work interchangeably to make sure the blood is filtered completely from any foreign materials and dead cells. Splenomegaly, which is the enlargement of the spleen, could happen due to four main causes, which were cancer, infection, liver or blood diseases (Kuntz, 2006). An enlarged spleen causes hypersplenism; it is a process where the spleen increases the filtration process of the blood cells. This causes the spleen to recycle more blood and consider it to be a foreign material. Consequently, more RBCs, WBCs and palates in the blood plasma are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This became a dream for many kids with the card game, tv show and video game in the world of Pokemon. Now with Pokemon Go, anyone can join that world for free (Hook). Pokemon Go is an app for smartphones that uses GPS to allow people to go outside and find their own pokemon. No longer are people sitting on a couch inside staring at a screen, dreaming of a different world. Now they can go outside, get some exercise and feel all the excitement and anxiety of a real pokemon trainer. The popularity of the app was proven by how many people downloaded it immediately (Discussion). Pokemon Go was an idea that exploded and spread throughout the nation, appealing to young children and settled adults alike (Thesis). Pokemon Go built upon platforms of past videogames and GPS, was the next step in the realm of pokemon media, exapted cell phones and games to be a way to encourage people outdoors and exercise in a world where everything is leading indoors, and used liquid networks to reach as high as it could (Essay Map). Pokemon Go was developed from layers of platforms already formed and used ideas that a new idea builds upon, especially those that have created the present video game culture (Topic Sentence). Pokemon had an advantage in this because the original Pokemon Company was created in Japan, which had managed to nurse a mobile game culture earlier than competing countries (Supporting Detail 1). ... • 11. Discrimination Against Teenage Girls In School Dress Codes Discrimination Against Teenage Girls in School Dress Codes Dress codes in middle and high schools are a form of discrimination against teenage girls in today s society. Parents and students all over the country argue that dress codes are directed mainly at girls and are a blatant example of gender inequality. The idea behind the strict enforcement of a dress code is that it will teach self respect and raise moral standards for the students. However, when the reason for many dress code violations is questioned the rationale is often to prevent distracting the male students. Young women across the country are being shamed and punished for wearing what schools consider immodest and being a distraction to their male peers. This discrimination against female students results in their clothes being strictly regulated and dress coded more often than male students clothes are. The enforcement of these discriminatory dress codes has become a form of public humiliation for female students. Theoretically, a dress code makes sense and should be effective. In reality, it does not affect how students dress but causes a distraction and interruption of a girl s education. Today s fashion trends, such as leggings, yoga pants, shorter skirts, booty shorts, form fitting shirts, and spaghetti straps, have sparked controversy in schools. Essay Shield of Achilles and the Shield of Aeneas A Comparative Study of the Shield of Achilles and the Shield of Aeneas In Homer s great work, the Iliad, Achilles is given a set of armor, including a glorious shield which allows him to return to battle and carry out his revenge against Hector. Likewise, in Virgil s Aeneid, Aeneas is sent a shield for the purpose of aiding him in defending Rome from invasion. However, these shields are made special not by their military value, but by the engravings that decorate their surfaces. Achilles shield holds engravings of common life during his time: farmers plowing the land, young men and women dancing in the vineyards, scenes of the countryside, slaves working for their kings, and armies fighting each other. And there were young men on it and young girls, sought for their beauty with gifts of oxen, dancing, and holding hands at the wrist (Il., 18.590 594). In fact, the majority of the shield depicts common Greek life; this being a quality that distinguishes Achilles shield from those of other famous warriors and heroes. Epics and their heroes usually involve gods and god like feats, which are still true in the Iliad, yet the engravings on this shield are an oxymoron of that style. Edwards best describes this in stating, Like an enormous simile, the scenes on the shield hold the narrative still for a while as we gaze at them; and the content is like that of a simile, too it is the ordinary life of mankind that we observe, not that of heroes or gods (278). The shield is unique for the engravings it bears on its surface, however, its greater significance lies in what it represents, especially to Achilles being. At her son s birth, Thetis knew that Zeus had fated Achilles to die if he spilled Hector s blood. Despite warning him of this, Thetis could not sway her son s decision to avenge Patrocles and kill Hector. Therefore, it is known from this point on that Achilles would soon die. In both of these texts, the main characters are alienated in a way that made them feel so different to the point where it affected their lives because they always felt like they are incapable. Due to this, Hally made Sam feel like he was incapable of doing certain things, like winning a dance competition. To His Coy Mistress By Marvell Examine the view that Marvell presents love as entirely physical Although the role of sexual intercourse within the context of love is heavily emphasized by Marvell in To His Coy Mistress , suggesting that the Carpe Diem poem presents love as solely physical is arguably hyperbolic. Marvell s structural establishment of a perpetual hypothetical implicitly addresses the nature of romantic asexual love and presents it as something fundamentally positive. Within the context of the poem, this metaphor ultimately introduces a sharp tonal shift between the hypothetical nature of the poem and the realism of the current situation. The shift in tone is further enforced by Marvell s employment of the motif of death in line 27, where the grotesque imagery of worms essentially deflowering his lover in the grave establishes juxtaposing connotations to Marvell s hypothetical promise to love his mistress until the end of time in verse 10. Furthermore, it reinforces the critical lack of time Marvell and the addressee have together as the lover will inevitably die, inherently providing an essential argument to the addressee to indulge in sexual intercourse with ... • 22. Desensitization In Heart Of Darkness The world will remain as brutal as our level of desensitization to its brutality. (Unknown) Many humans in this world no longer feel shock or distress at scenes of cruelty, violence, or suffering as they are overexposed to such images. In other words, these people have become desensitized and display no empathy towards others. In the event that one is exposed to these types of surroundings on a regular basis they begin to adapt and become unaware of how heinous their actions actually are. Though not everyone partakes in these atrocious acts of violence, they are still in the wrong as they are simply bystanders watching the victims being abused. In essence desensitization causes humans to adapt, become callous to their surroundings, and become apathetic towards the others right to live. Adaptation is the action or process in which an organism becomes suited to its environment. As an illustration, this article on violence in prison focuses on the idea that one adapts to their surroundings and gets used to what is happening around them. I learned to adapt to my situation, but adaptation came at a cost. I became desensitized to the violence that I witnessed around me (Papa, 2016). This shows that the men in prison have become immune to the events that are occurring. Even further, Richard Curtain has predicted through analysis conducted by his economic research team at the University of Michigan that RV shipments will increase 7.4% in 2011 over the previous year. This is due to the customer base that this market is able to bring to the table. Not long ago the customer base was strictly wealthier, retired couples over the age of 55 years old but the current customer profile has ownership of RV s spread across all tiers of age with the highest percentile being in the range of 35 54 year old couples with an average of three vehicles and an average household income of $70,000. • 29. Why Lily s Father Prevented Her From Going For Grammar... 6. I believe that Lily s father prevented her from going to grammar school for a variety of reasons. One would be that he saw her as mainly a source of income and looked at the here and now value of her work, rather than her getting a better job in the future. Second, he felt insulted because his kid would get a better job than what he had and he had never had the privilege to go to a nice school because he had been deprived of his childhood. He felt that if he couldn t have it then she couldn t either. To a certain degree, je must ve felt jealousy and anger. His pride was insulted because so many people forgot about him and never even gave him a chance; they just forced him to do things and here his children were, privileged and they didn t even realize how lucky they were. 7. The war changed the talk of the town significantly. War forces people to look death and loss in the eye. When people look death in the eye, they often become their true selves. When they looked around, they stopped seeing the petty lines but instead saw people as they truly were: no better or worse than the other. They saw how similar they all were: they all had something to lose. They all shared the same fear of death, losing their belongings, and losing one another. They were forced to figure out the truth in things rather than the facades everyone puts up. They were united as a country rather than separated by a religion. They stopped their judgments. The wall was still there, but the war ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Elements Of Satire In Gulliver s Travels Authors write in many different forms and use many different elements in their works. One of these elements that writers use is called satire. This element is used to make fun of something that the author disapproves of in a comical but hidden way. Widely considered as one of the greatest satirists to ever live, Jonathan Swift used satire in his works to express his disgust in society and the British Monarchy during the 18th century. One of the greatest satires ever written by Swift was Gulliver s Travels. In Gulliver s Travels, satire is evident through Gulliver s voyage to Lilliput, his dialogue with Lilliput s emperor, and his time spent within the kingdom of Brobdingnag. First introduced in ancient Greece in 423 B.C., satire is a literary technique in which behaviors or institutions are ridiculed for the purpose of improving society (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Comic playwright Aristophanes introduced satire through his play The Clouds in 423 B.C. by using the literary technique to compare Socrates to Atheists. In the case of Aristophanes and many other satirists, the target is often a social or political one (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Aristophanes play The Wasps in 422 B.C. brings this into perspective as he satirises about his disapproval with the Athenian court system. Great satirists like Aristophanes, Horace, Juvenal, Shakespeare, Swift, and Pope have ...sought to protect their highly developed civilization...by attacking hypocrisy, arrogance, greed, vanity, and stupidity (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Many authors and playwrights began to study satire and how to use it effectively to point out issues in society and in their governments but to do so in a more hidden and comedical way, what sets satire apart from other forms of social and political protest is humor (Allen, Janet. Satire. 608). Jonathan Swift ultimately gripped the idea of satire and wrote one of the greatest satires ever in Gulliver s Travels where, ...he vents his fury at political corruption and his annoyance with general worthlessness of human beings (Allen 620). Swift expresses these feelings multiple times in the book in many different ways. In Gulliver s Travels, Swift expresses his fury ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Jealousy In Othello Analyzing William Shakespeare s Othello There are many different emotions like sadness, happiness, and joyfulness just to name a few that people can experience. One of the most powerful and sometimes dangerous emotions is Jealousy. Jealousy is a powerful emotion that most people experience at some point in their life. However, not everyone is affected in the same way. Some people are filled with insecurity. While others are filled with fear. Most people experience anger. In William Shakespeare s Othello the audience learns through the characterization of Othello and Iago, the symbolism of the handkerchief, and through Othello denying that he is jealous we learn that jealousy can make people behave irrationally in certain circumstances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Othello s mom gave Othello the handkerchief, and told him to give it to his wife if he should be married. This quote indicates that the handkerchief was then given to Desdemona as a precious valuable item and losing it would be a catastrophe like no other. Lynda Boose argues that [t]he handkerchief that will become to Othello evidence of her lust [where instead it] has always been evidence of exactly the opposite nature (Boose 270). This indicates that the handkerchief was a sign of her love but will transform into a sign of her adultery. Although the audience knows that Othello is jealous. Othello himself denies that he has been consumed by jealousy, and that he has been behaving irrationally. Othello claims that it is the cause, [his] soul. Let me not name it to you, you chaste stars. It is the cause. Yet I ll not shed [Desdemona s] blood (Shakespeare 5.2.1 3). Denying that he is jealous Othello claims that he is not going to kill Desdemona as of this moment. He also insist that the reasoning to killing Desdemona would be because of justice, and not jealousy. After killing Desdemona Othello argues with Emilia that Cassio did top [Desdemona]. Ask thy husband [Iago] else O, I were damned beneath all depth in hell [b]ut that proceed upon just grounds (Shakespeare 5.2.139 142). Everyone will always have memories and stories from the past history. Why should monuments be made? Are they even important? Yes, monuments are important. • 33. My Experience Of Freedom My first experience of freedom was the first time I drive my car by myself for the first time. Ever since I was little, I had wanted to drive. My grandma would take me out into the country and let me steer on her lap when I was little. It didn t feel like I thought it was supposed to. I had attempted to take my moms car out for a drive when I was ten, but I got caught. When I turned twelve, my grandma let me drive her car without her help but she was in the car with me. She let me drive because she knew how bad I wanted to. It was on the same country road as when I was little, steering on her lap. The country road would lead to my cousins house. I was able to drive her car on the country road multiple times because we would go to my cousins house frequently. I have lived in Newton, Kansas my whole life. I have moved over a dozen times, luckily my mom kept us in the same town throughout. I have attended Newton Public Schools my entire childhood. My mom would always give me rides to school in the mornings before she went to work. I would always ask if I could drive and she would reply with No, you are not old enough and you don t even have a driver s license . I have always felt trapped. I could leave the house and ride my bike whenever I felt like it, but I still felt trapped. I couldn t drive. I wanted to drive so bad I thought I would kill for it. • 34. The Link Between Nazi Propaganda And The Holocaust Essay Hitler believed that propaganda from the allies was the main reason that the Germans lost during World War I and felt that this form of warfare needed to be a primary tool in modern warfare. He spoke of this belief in his book Mein Kampf well before the start of the second World War. Hitler felt that the public needed to be inundated with the ideology of the state at all times and through all mediums (Jowett and O Donnell 2). To do this, he said everything from child s story book to the last newspaper, every theater, every cinema and every advertisement must be brought into the service of this single mission (qt. in Qualter ix). This onslaught of propaganda led to the Holocaust by leaving no other option open to the German people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Nazi s did use propaganda in this negative sense but in an underhanded and subversive way. They backed up all their false reports with scientific studies and claims of a better human race. Propaganda is hard to define as most definitions do not cover the full meaning of the word. The Webster s Illustrated Encyclopedic Dictionary defines propaganda as the systematic propagation or discrediting of a given doctrine or cause by circulation of polemical material, such as posters and leaflets (1353). However, this definition does not cover the full scope of the of the word. Terence Qualter also feels the definition for propaganda needs to be more refined for its new usage. The definition that he gives is the deliberate attempt...(to) form, control, or alter the attitudes of other groups...(with) the use of the instruments of communication (27 28). He goes on to say that the propaganda must be aimed at the group in general because that is the basic nature of the word, in that the most effective propaganda is the propaganda which has a large audience. Qualter does mention, however, that there need be no difference in the propaganda to persuade one and the propaganda to persuade the many (28). Germany did this by controlling the flow of information into the country. According to Hideya Kumata and Wilbur Schramm, gaining monopoly control of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Descriptive Essay About Trail Riding Do you ever have a dream where you re falling, and it feels so real that your body wakes you up? Well this was not a dream. I was falling, and there was no bed for me to wake up in. Growing up I was always around horses. My mom got into horses as a teenager, and they never left her heart. The minute I was born I was put up in the saddle. Where most families would bond by going swimming, hiking, or to watch a movie, my family bonded by going horseback riding. (Or as we call it, trail riding.) The first horse I remember riding was a beautiful mare (girl horse) named Angel. She was a sweet old white quarter horse who took care of everyone who rode her. I went on many trail rides with her and when she passed away I learned at the early age of six that people s deaths aren t the only deaths we morn. Eventually I moved on and started riding a new horse whose name was Tanka. Tanka was a stubborn and sassy sorrel mare. I really didn t ride her on my own because she probably would ve taken advantage of me being a beginner. Since I couldn t ride her on my own my sister Lisa usually rode along on Tanka while I sat behind the saddle, holding on to the edge of it for dear life. One cloudy mid September day my mom decided we should go on a trail ride. Since we didn t have enough horses for everyone who wanted to come on the ride, my mom came up with a plan. She planned that me, Lisa, and my mom s friend Lori should ride down the road to meet my mom and her other friends at their house ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Learning Disabilities 1. There is no such thing as a typical student with a learning disability This represents to me how diverse and complex those individuals with learning disabilities can be in their capabilities and in the ways that they need support. They can have a learning disability that affects their academic achievement and memory, along with how they process information, and so much more. One student could have a learning disability that affects their achievement with mathematics but not their reading or language abilities, and vice versa. Short term, long term, and working memory can also be affected to varying degrees, and this will be different from student to student. One thing that is typical of students with learning disabilities is that they would probably have average to above average intelligence. However, their academic achievement often shows a deficit of a lower level of intelligence, depending on where their difficulties or challenges are within academics. Emotionally and socially, students will also range in their abilities to make and keep friends, might have classroom behavior problems, might have anxiety, but also might have no social and emotional struggles at all. To me, it depends greatly on the support that they receive at home starting out and within the school while they are learning. The more we support these students the less likely they will be to have as many social and emotional issues, along with grow and develop academic skills while being held to ... This silly song is heard in millions of households daily, it is excerpts from the infamous Spongebob Squarepants theme song. Spongebob is a cartoon that depicts the mindless adventures of an animated sponge named Spongebob Squarepants and his friends in the fictional town of Bikini Bottom. Squidward is extremely not self aware as he thinks he is talented at dance and clarinet, when in reality he is awful at both. There are plenty of people in society who have narcissistic tendencies, but in actuality have little talent, like the Kardashians. However, deep down Squidward does care about Spongebob and the others, he just likes to put up a tough front. Sandy is a squirrel from Texas who lives in an air locked tree dome and wears a helmet and suit, so she can breathe underwater. She is a karate master and exceptionally smart. She is very much an outsider in Bikini Bottom, but everyone respects her wisdom. The characters in Bikini Bottom regularly run on emotions and make stupid decisions, so she is the rational voice among the chaos. This attribute can be seen through advisors, who are supposed to help leaders make sane decisions. Also, teachers can be represented by Sandy because of the wisdom and information they teach students and the guidance they offer. Patrick is Spongebob s best friend, and together they partake in many mindless adventures, often to the chagrin of others especially Squidward. He has an overly exaggerated dumb persona, but is loveable at the same time. He is Spongebob s faithful sidekick and extremely loyal. However, he unintendedly takes advantage of Spongebob, eating his food and taking his stuff. Patrick represents that one friend that overstays their welcome at your house, or always makes ...
