Everywhere nowadays there is electricity and devices that rely on electricity. Society is driven by the
need for energy and electricity generating plants now consume two fifths of U.S. energy from all
sources, including about 90% of America s coal and nearly 30% of its natural gas

analyze does absolutely stunning in doing all three and more. The Mercedes ad of the red SL class car
gives off a romantic look due to the color of the car and the caption on the left; and a rough and
powerful look at the same time from the rigid mountainous background. The images looks extremely
realistic, like every detail of it was picked up by a high tech camera. The main focus of the image is
the front of the car closest to the foreground, with it going out towards the other parts making it one
elegant picture. Ethos, Pathos, and logos play a major role in this ad to appeal to the audiences senses
and attract the viewers the ad is aimed towards. This ad does marvelous in using rhetorical techniques
to appeal to the viewer and persuade them to purchase this car. My ad has a mountainous background
with a tint of blue in it, giving the impression of it taking place in the morning and the feeling of the

Theis blurring of the lines between the underworld and the orderly world is also highlighted in the

Hitchcock s Film Adaptation Of The 39 Steps
The 39 Steps is a theatrical production based on John Buchan s 1915 novel and Alfred Hitchcock s
1935 film. Unlike the original source material, the production was designed for four actors to play
over a hundred characters in total. Overall, it was an incredibly successful performance which did not
fail to bring in a good story and laughs throughout.
The story is set in Britain during the 1930s and the stage production shows points to this in a few
ways. The most noticeable hints I found towards the time period was the costumes, which is what
tends to draw my eye a lot. Alfred Hitchcock s film adaptation of The 39 Steps was very much in the
film noir style. Black and white colour scheme, somewhat melodramatic acting, the whole lot. While
the theatre production is not completely in this style, it still makes some allusions towards Hitchcock s
film. For example, the acting is still very hammy and overdramatic (though not in a bad way by any
means) and the main protagonist does monologue about himself.
