This document summarizes a study that analyzed the profiles of top Twitter users to examine how geo-information and location relate to Twitter use. The study found that: 1) Users who provide location information in their profiles are more active on Twitter in terms of following others, having more followers, and posting more tweets. 2) Users in large metropolitan areas have more followers, indicating greater popularity, than those in smaller city areas. 3) Users in smaller city areas are more active in making social connections and communicating through following others and posting tweets.
