The document provides details on the front cover and contents page plan for a teen pop music magazine. 3. Front Cover Plan: Main Artist
• One of the artists I have created for the front cover is
called ‘Nicki’.
• She will be the main thing on the cover and I will take
a head and shoulder shot of her to fill the majority of
the cover.
I have chosen this person to use on the front cover of my
magazine as she is s similar age to a lot of the solo pop
artists such as Jessie J, Katy Perry and Rihanna. The is also
very up-to-date with fashion and will therefore suit the style
of my magazine. She will also feature on the double page
spread and be the person I use for the interview.

4. Front Cover: Other Artists
This is another person that I will take photos of to use on the front
cover of my magazine. She will not be the main artist but would
have a page in the magazine interviewing her. She will be known as
‘Molly Rose’ and will be a new UK talent that has just one the X
Factor.
I will also take a photo of this band to feature in a smaller
box on the front cover. They are called ‘Falling out of favour’
and the reason they are in the magazine is to announce an
upcoming tour.
This is somebody else I will take some photos of for the cover. She will
the called ‘Sammi Green’ and will be advertising an interview with
her. She is younger that the main artist which will give the reader
something slightly different to read.

The strap lines of the cover will include:

The strap lines will give the reader an
idea of what the artists/bands will be
talking about in there interviews and
what sorts of things will feature inside
the magazine. It will help them decide if
they want to buy the magazine or not
without having to look through it in the
shop. They will be highlighted in yellow
so that they stand out to make it easier
for the reader to see.

6. Front Cover Plan: Text, Font and
Language
Nicki’s name will be in a
font that looks handwritten
so it could almost be a
replica of her autograph
signature and more
personal to her fans.
Most of the other text on the front
cover will be fairly plain and bold so it
does not make the cover look crowded
or over the top. This also then allows
the main things like the masthead and
the main article heading to be seen and
stand out. There will be a variety of
different fonts but none of them will be
too fancy, just slight variations of each
other. This helps us to tell the difference
between headings, sub headings,
quotes, the masthead, strap lines etc.

7. Front Cover Plan: Text, Font and
Language
The Language that I will use on the front cover will be slightly
informal to suit the target age (11-16) but will not be un
readable and will be easily understood. For example:
•‘Goss’ will be used as a shortened version of the word
‘Gossip’
•‘Celeb’ will be used to replace ‘Celebrity’
‘Nicki’ will not have a surname on the cover to make it more
personal. This is because often fans will refer to there favourite
artists just by the first name/stage name e.g. ‘Demi’ instead of
‘Demi Lovato’ and ‘Miley’ instead of ‘Miley Cyrus’. Also, some
singers do not even use there surnames e.g. Rihanna, Beyoncé
and Adele.

9. Contents Page Plan: List of Content
This will tell the audience what is new within the
pop music industry since the last issue.
This will make the reader curious of who is being
spoke about and make them turn to this page.
One Direction fans will want to know the latest
gossip on the band.
This will take the focus off of music for a couple of
pages so the magazine does not get boring but is
still aimed at teens and highlighting the things they
love (fashion, make up, jewellry)
Tattoo’s are hugely popular with teenagers, especially when
they see their favourite artist with one. This becomes a big
topic of convosation amongst them and sometimes wish to
have the same tattoo when they are older.
Justin Bieber fans will be interested in turning to
this page, what has he done now?

10. Contents Page Plan: List Of Content
This is something else that will
make the reader curious as they
cannon see who the person is
until they turn to page 24. this
will then encourage them to
read other things they see when
flicking through the magazine.
This is the biggest image on the
contents page as it is the main
cover artist on the magazine
(Nicki). It will be one of the
biggest reasons why the magazine
has been bought and therefore
deserves to have a lot of space on
the page dedicated to it and
expressing where to find the
interview in the magazine.
These two snippets of the
interviews included give the
readers an insight to what
the artists will be questioned
on in the interviews. The
readers can then turn to
these pages. They also relate
to what is seen on the front
cover (could be the reason
they purchase the
magazine).
