Linear Machines During World War I
At the end of World War I there were 4 different rotor based cipher machines invented by four men
Edward Hebern (USA), Arthur Scheribus (Germany), Hugo Koch (Netherlands), Arvid Damm
(Sweden) in four different countries within years of each other. These types of rotor machines were
used in World War II and provided a strong encryption method while also making it easier for people
to use.
The Hebern Rotor Machine invented by Edward Hebern was a mix between a standard typewriter and
an electric typewriter. Edward attempted to build and market his machine and was confident enough in
that prospect that he secured investors and started a company called Hebern Electric Code. He was not
able to sell his machine though and it did not become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These men realized that the Diffie Hellman method was exposed to people listening to the exchanges
man in the middle attack and capturing the prime numbers used with the public keys given. With that
information hackers are able to crack the code leaving the encryption vulnerable. RSA allows a
message to be encrypted asymmetrically using the public key. It is based upon not having the ability to
factor the product of two large prime numbers. The public key consists of the modulus and encryption
exponent. The sender uses the receiver s public key to encrypt the message which can only be
decrypted in a reasonable time using the private decryption key of the receiver.
Elliptic Curve cryptography is a method of encryption that involves the algebraic structure of an
elliptic curve. An important observation of an elliptic curve that is drawn is that there is some
horizontal symmetry. This allows for plotting from one point to another, then bouncing from the
second point down to the reflection of the curve to get a value. The advantage with Elliptic Curve
cryptography is that there is no backdoor method to cracking the code and it is harder and takes longer
than factoring does with

Why The Prodigy Artist Is Intrigued By Them
Question 2 Leung Ka Ho (s1659467)
RAPHAEL, LETTER TO POPE LEO X, ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS:
WHY THE PRODIGY PAINTER IS INTRIGUED BY THEM
Architectural drawings, despite its many crude forms, has existed long before the time of the Italian
painter architect Raphael Sanzio da Urbino. Nevertheless, with reference to Wolfgang Lotz, the
prodigy painter s letter to Pope Leo X has been regarded as the trailblazer of the rendering of interior
in architectural drawings . Such fundamental foundations to architectural drawings are in fact the
collaborative work of Raphael and several individuals, more specifically intimate friend humanist
Baldassare Castiglione, translator of Vitruvius De Architectura Fabio Calvo and teams of scholars due
to his inept expression through literal means. As a result, at least three versions of the letter are created
(in chronological order of the date of publication or discovery) : a now lost manuscript owned by
Scipione Maffei in a collection of works of Baldassare Castiglione published by the Giovanni Antonio
and Gaetano Volpi in Padua (1733); a Munich manuscript published in 1847; and a draft with the first
parts of the letter that could decipher the complete text surfaced in the Castiglione family archives in
Mantua and later published in 1910. The letter sets up the rudimentary foundations for architectural
drawings to flourish and its significance is twofold: to depict Renaissance

What Effect Do Earthquakes Have On Coastal Cities
One impact that an earthquake would have is that it would kill people. In the last 500 years several
million people have been killed due to earthquakes. Huge losses to property also happen because of
buildings collapsing. Electric poles, roads, bridges, canals, ect. also get badly damaged. Most of the
time these damages happen because the earthquakes shake the earth or rupture the surface.
Earthquakes can also cause landslides around hilly areas that can destroy property and can take lives.
Earthquakes can even cause fires because of breakage of gas pipes or electric lines while the
earthquake is in motion. Lastly, earthquakes can create tsunamis. Tsunamis are not usually created on

Essay on Loss In One Art by Elizabeth Bishop
One Art by Elizabeth Bishop is a poem that explores loss in comparison to an art; however, this art is
not one to be envied or sought after to succeed at. Everyone has experienced loss as the art of losing is
presented as inevitably simple to master. The speaker s attitude toward loss becomes gradually more
serious as the poem progresses.
Keys, having virtually no reason for emotional attachment, are mentioned in line 5 with a tone of
acceptance that, Yes, it is okay to lose keys. Although vital to the penetration of a lock, keys are such a
generic object that they can be easily replaced and, aside from the inability to open that door, will not
be missed for long. Lines 2 and 3 state that so many things seem filled with the intent ... Show more

At this point in the poem, the speaker s attitude toward loss is rather blasé due to the fact that the items
she has misplaced holds no emotional attachment and can be replaced.
As the poem progresses, the misplaced or forgotten items become concepts such as names and ideas,
and therefore carry more of an impact. For example, forgetting someone s name, however not
uncommon, can be associated with feelings of embarrassment from the forgettor, and annoyance from
the forgotten when they discover that they were not important enough to be remembered. The speaker
simply shrugs off these losses because None of [them] will bring disaster, as mentioned in line 9.
Emotion, often associated with memories is introduced in line 10 when the speaker announces, I lost
my mother s watch. An item such as a mother s watch holds sentimental value, unlike the previously
mentioned keys; however, the speaker repeats, I miss them, but it wasn t a disaster, (line 15) indicating
that the watch was merely a material possession crowded with memories. At this point, the reader
recognizes the feeling of missing something associated with greater losses of objects and ideas the
speaker regards with more emotional attachment.
In line 16, the speaker s emotional attitude toward loss changes as it becomes evident that the speaker
has lost a person, yet they still view loss as a part of

management to make plans to pursue the advanced abilities the Internet has created. Microsoft s
current goal is to achieve acknowledgement in the business arena of advertisement via the online

defined as the introduction of new things or methods (Dictionary, 2008). Therefore, planning must be
calculated in a strategic, tactical and operational manner in order to be effective. With strategic
planning, Microsoft must think of long term goals and strategies for its corporation (Bateman Snell,

foreign workers play the role in the company. I also want to know how foreign worker program can
benefit both the company and the worker and how this can become an opportunity for Tim Hortons to

about to open their new location inside the mall. I decided to call Tim Hortons store at southgate mall

Response To Emperor Worship
Emperor Worship Response
Emperor worship began as early as the time of Egyptian Pharaohs like that of King Horus, the divine
ruler over the whole Egypt (Dollinger, 2017, p. 1). Tracing emperor worship from the Pharaohs and
the Ptolemies, Sparta, and Alexander the Great provided evidence of the enormous influence it had on
the Roman emperors. When Rome conquered the East, the same divine honors were transferred to the
Roman proconsuls (Burton, 1912, p. 80). Acceptance of the imperial cult by Roman rulers in Asia
Minor and Greece was far reaching and attributed to Alexander the Great s legacy. However, he was
not regarded as a god. It was Antiochus IV who accepted the honor of being recognized as a divine
king. Afterward, a long line ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1). Emperor worship was entirely unacceptable to the Jews. It was during the time of King Herod the
Great that emperor worship began in Palestine. Herod the Great thought he should be worshiped as
others esteemed as deities. He devised a plan to find baby Jesus and have Him killed so that he would
continue to be recognized as the King of the Jews. However, it was not God s plan, and Herod died
without knowing the whereabouts of baby Jesus. The imperial cult reached its peak of popularity in
the 2nd century and in the 4th century began to lose its religious relevance. The decline of imperial
cult worship was attributed to the rise of Christianity. As Christianity became the formal worship,
emperor worship died. Certain customs that came about during the emperor worship era, such as
kneeling before the Emperor or his statue, was still practiced. In the provinces, priests of emperor
worship still functioned but their function became more political than religious. Hostility remained
between the Jews and Christians toward the Roman emperors. The Roman emperor, Caligula,
demanded his statue be set up in synagogues and in the temple of Jerusalem. The Jews were in an
uproar and made many attempts to defy the order, but before Caligula could totally enforce his order,
he died. After his death, there were no more attempts from Rome to enforce the order and emperor

The End Of Apathy Analysis
Ram Parso Summer Assignment UHD 15 August 2015 The End of Apathy Apathy for change? Is an
ambivalent question that can be negative or positive, and I have noticed an obstacle in my community
that relates to the words care and change. Obstacles, hurdles, and complications tend to sound abrasive
in a manner, but the irony behind the true definition of those words leaves a person gratified with
morals and stories. Since the progression of human connectivity humans have evolved with the fast
pace of life which blocks will for change due to selfishness, laziness, and stupidity. In your
community How commonly do you hear that people don t care? Or How many times have You said I

But the opposite; people have evolved from the Stone Age and has solved daunting conundrums which
proves that we are intelligent and eccentric and we do care about change. Imagine if Thomas Edison
didn t care to invent electricity despite failing a thousand times the new would not have all these
electricity based instruments. The environment we live has developed a habit of being or putting
obstacles in our way, but we can change them like I mentioned. So in conclusion my sole message is
that apathy about change can be redefined, not as one inner disorder, but as a social barrier that
emphasizes disengagement. If we believe that one person trying to make a change is futile and our
neighbors are stupid, lazy, and selfish then there s no chance for change. So just like it s not easy to
break a bundle of sticks together; we, people, can collectively dissect obstacles by being united,
responsible, and educated which can make the impossible

Examples Of Satire In The Simpsons
The Simpsons: Equal Opportunity Satire While there are many different perspectives on whether the
popular animated show The Simpsons depicts Christianity in a favorable, unfavorable or apathetic
light, my personal opinion is that the signature satirical style of the show is actually a strategy to
please the widest audience, whether religious or not presenting equal opportunity satire. Their
unapologetic and unabashed way of making fun of anything and everything is what has allowed the
show to continue for so many seasons and also allow the viewer to draw their own conclusions. The
diverse characters represented in the series advocate a wide range of different perspectives, ranging
from the atheistic to the theistic. In the 1992 episode, Homer the Heretic, where the plotline can be ...

On one hand, Christians would see the fact that the Simpson home burned and that Homer was saved

simply another instance of people using easily explained natural phenomena to reinforce their biases
and confirmation bias when Homer reinforces his belief in God by being saved by Flanders

The Birth And Metamorphosis Of Hip Hop Dance
The Birth Metamorphosis of Hip Hop Dance I tend to to think of dancing as if it were a tree, with
roots stretching in all different directions. The roots of all dance forms can be traced back to many
cultures. To some, dance is seen as a hobby, but when closely observed, you will soon come to find
that the world of dance plays an amazing role in the evolution of modern society. The African
Diaspora and many other cultures contributed immensely to the form of Hip Hop and Street Dance.
When looking at hip hop at a glance, any dance enthusiast would most likely be able to point out at
least six or more moves from different dance forms. Hip hop dance has contributed to society

Variations of Hip Hop such as locking and popping have become extremely popular in the dancing
Hip Hop world. Don Campbellock Campbell created these freezing stylizations (Module11). His
dance crew the Lockers were seen as some of the pioneers of street dance. Don Campbell is said to be
responsible for breaking down many staging and concept barriers (Barnes). Due to Campbells success
in this area, street dancing is now seen as a true American art Form (Barnes). While these stylizations
were opening doors for dancers physically, musicians were experimenting with Hip Hop culture as
well. To society Hip hop was seen as a dance form meant to be popular in the original sense of the
word, meaning that it was for the people and not for the academy, hip hop moves were inspired by
complex rhythms and the down to earth movement style of African dancing. Music and movement
came together to form a new art (Hanson). The new trend of music that was popping up in New York
was centered around drum beats, electric decibles, and pounding bass. DJ Herc from NY was one of
the very first artists to create unique music from two different recording machines at one time. This
method was the birth of modern day Hip Hop music. The rhythms he created were one of the
important founding elements of hip hop; he also extended the dance section of songs so that the
dancers could show off their moves for a longer interlude, laying the

On February 10, 2017, I attended Chris Botti s nearly sold out show at the Hilbert Circle Theater. This
was the most brilliant performance I have ever seen. While I was not familiar with Botti before the

at Oceanaire, we arrived at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, where women were dressed from casual attire
with black pants to full length ball gowns with mink fur coats, while the men wore suits or sports
coats with dress pants. Our seats were located in the middle of the theatre on the edge of the balcony

piannissmo dynamic level in The Look of Love but in some of his other songs he would begin in a
soft piano and crescendo to a mezzo forte with some subito changes from mezzo piano to forte. While
there was contrast due to the nature of jazz, most of the harmonies were consonant and the melodies
were conjunct and pleasant to hear. There was never a moment in the performance where I felt the
need for tension to be resolved, it was generally smooth. Overall, the wind instruments played
included a bass clarinet, clarinets, an English horn, flutes, a piccolo, oboes, and bassoons. Among the

The Bluest Eye And Alison Bechdel s Fun Home Essay
Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye and Alison Bechdel s Fun Home are both novels that employ a
reflective narration of the past to address common themes of trauma, unorthodox family relationships,
and sexuality. Although they demonstrate pronounced differences in setting and design, both stories
utilize this retrospective narrative to expose masculinity s stratified hegemony as a driving force of
internalized shame, violence, and the death of self. Furthermore, it becomes clear that these shared
themes result from the intense pressure to conform to the asymmetrical hierarchy s ideal masculine
identity through an analysis of the characters Cholly and Bruce. Before examining these characters it
is important to define gender with the understanding that masculinity is a gendered hegemony. In her
definition of gender, Judith Halberstam notes that gender is socially systematized, performed, and
reproduced in cultures, institutions, and individual identities (Burgett, Bruce, and Hendler, 116). Mimi
Schippers expands this definition in her article on gendered violence, implying that masculinity is
central to gender relations. In short, Schippers defines masculinity as simultaneously a place in gender
relations, the practices through which men and women engage... in gender, and the effects of these
practices on bodily experience, personality, and culture (Schippers, 86). Here, masculinity is classified
as a social position, the set and practice of masculine qualities (substantially by

Inventory Control And Its Effect On The Performance Of The...
An inventory management system, inventory control, and inventory accuracy are paramount to a mass
production manufacturing facility, especially when multiple part types and multiple product types are
being produced. Raw component inventory can account for millions of dollars of an organizations
cash, which is not contributing to profitability until converted to a product and sold. Therefore, it is
essential for an organization to have an inventory management system and an inventory control
process to account for the value associated with each part and ultimately to return value to the
operation.
Inventory inaccuracy can negatively impact the performance of the production control system (Chan
Wang, 2014). It is difficult to account for raw materials at every stage of the manufacturing process
with complete accuracy, thus, an error between the actual inventory level and the supply chain
management systems record of inventories cannot be completely avoided. However, when an
inaccuracy exists in the raw materials inventory it creates a negative effect on the material requirement
planning (MRP) systems. The inaccuracy of the material requirement planning systems has a negative
impact on the performance of production planning and scheduling, which contributes to a less than
optimal production output, potentially disappointing customers with lack of manufactured goods.
A traditional inventory management system assumes that the raw material stock in the organizations

safe driving is the human vehicle interface (HVI), very similar to the human computer interface/

Old Barn Research Paper
The history of a barn can tell someone a lot about a place and the values of that place. Restoring a
barn takes time and effort, just like anything good in life. Barns are used for much more than just a
storage place, and they can describe a location or be part of a place s history. An old barn could just be
a pile of rotting wood, but by the same token, the Mona Lisa could simply be described as a piece of
canvas with some pigments attached. As one can see, when looking at barns through different
perspectives, one might gain a new appreciation. Barn preservation is an important way for the values

Essay on Optical Fiber Corp Case Analysis
Case Analysis:
Optical Fiber Corporation
Introduction
Optical Fiber Corporation (OFC) is a financially successful, albeit relatively small manufacturer of
multimode optical fibers. The company was founded in 1990. The founders were able to enter the
market largely on the basis of acquiring patent licenses from larger optical fiber firms. These licenses
restricted competition between the entities and provided OFC with instant access to optical fiber
technology. In return, OFC s customer base is limited by the license agreements and royalties of 7%
on sales of licensed products (recently renegotiated to 9%) are paid to the licensors. Despite these
handicaps the firm has grown in size and profitability. OFC makes several types ... Show more content

New firms entering the market will be free to produce the products once protected under those patents
without having incurred any R and D costs. These firms will also be free from royalty payments to
licensors or any restrictive covenants such as those under which OFC operates.
The industry in general, and OFC in particular, must contend with the purchasing power of its buyers.
Optical fiber is converted into optical fiber cable. In the United States there are twenty companies that
perform this function. OFC sells over 70% of their fiber to just three. The loss of any of these accounts
could be devastating for OFC and places them in a weak position when negotiating prices, at least
when the products are those which are readily available from other multimode fiber producers. It is
doubtful that switching costs would be high for buyers. Favoring OFC and the optical fiber market are
the projections for increased demand for multimode optical fibers at least through the mid 2000 s.
Sources of increased demand for multimode fiber are anticipated to include: cable TV, undersea
cables, local area networks (LAN) as well as general data communications growth such as computer
uses.
As noted the single mode optical fiber market is much larger than the multimode market. It too, is
expected to see significant growth over the next several years. Single mode fibers

Great White Shark Informative Speech
They have 300 serrated teeth, a torpedo shaped body and swallow their prey whole. Can anyone one
tell me what sea creature this is? Yes. It s the Great White Shark.
Introduction:
Hey everyone, I m Nino and today I will informing you all about the most fierce and feared predator
in the sea. In this speech I will be discussing the evolution, the physiology, its ecological niche and
propose a postulate for the future health and survival of the Great White Shark. The Great White is
scientifically known as the Carcharodon carcharias and is considered a carnivorous killing machine
which is at the top of its food chain. This fish has been around for hundreds of millions of years and

The Great White is ovoviviparous, which mean that the shark grows in an egg which is then hatched
inside the mother. Once the shark pup is born it stays in the womb for a short period of time where the
embryos feed on unfertilized eggs which is referred to as oophagy. The gestation period is the time
that the eggs are in the womb until they hatch which is estimate to around 12 to 18 months. Lastly, is
the litter size which ranges vastly for the Great White from two to ten pups. The new born measures to
5 feet (1.5 metres) and weighing 77 pounds (35Kg). However, the reason as to why the Great White
doesn t breed as fast as other animals is because they have a slow growth rate to maturity and a low
reproductive rate which is a worry for the survival of its kind in the future as they only live up to the
age of 30 years old.
Population:
The estimation of the Great Whites Shark is set to be estimated at 2000 however recent studies
indicate that this number has decreased by 50 % and the already threatened species is closer to
extinction that was hoped for. To prevent this animal for becoming extinct a number of countries have
vowed to protect the Great White Shark and they are South Afric, Namibia, USA, Australia and Malta.

Analysis Of Borderlands By Gloria Anzaldua
Speaking of Texas U.S. Southwest/Mexican border, the first thing appears in many people s mind is a
horizontal line with US on the upper side and Mexico on the lower, as depicted in maps. However, in
reality, a border serves more than just to separate states. In many occasions, it witnesses and bridges
social networks that stretch across border. These two functions seem to contradict each other but in
fact they exactly reflect the complex nature of borders, or, more realistically, borderlands, a term
coined to uproot in people the misleading image of a line. In her book Borderlands, the author Gloria
Anzaldua, as a descendent of Indians and Mexicans living close to the America Mexico border in
Southern Texas, defies such dualistic and simplistic thinking about the border/double sided or multi
sided dilemma, suggesting a new mestiza consciousness , a tolerance of ambiguity and a way of
creating new personal culture from her accounting with all three cultures, as opposed to adopting only
one of them without independent thinking and confronting against the rest. This new way of thinking
stems from the reality of borderlands but instead of stopping there the author expands its application
to establishing both cultural and sexual identities.
For Anzaldua, any borderland is a place of contradictions (preface 19), rendering border residents to
suffer from constant insecurity and perplexity as they struggle to keep their multiple identities intact.
Nonetheless, as she writes

Corruption In Oryx And Crake
The world is a terrifying place. This harsh reality has been hammered into the malleable minds of
children and all of societies. Due to the amount of misdeeds on Earth, ultimately the people who
possess the luxury to escape the vices of mankind will tend to be ignorant toward those problems and
instead focus on themselves. Because of the segregation, there will eventually going to be a lack of
regulation controlling those sins. In Mary Atwood s future dystopian novel, Oryx and Crake, the

The Contributions And Aspects Of The Persian Empire
Extending from Northeastern Africa to Central Asia, the Achaemenid Empire or the Persian Empire
was very vast. Great leaders led the empire from 500 B.C to 300 B.C and worked together to build
their empire and conquer other civilizations. As the land expanded, the geography of the Persian
Empire changed, the government adopted new methods, and the religion of zoroastrianism helped
maintain order throughout the empire forming one of the greatest empires to ever exist. The empire
was mainly deserts with far away waters, run by a bureaucracy and monarch government, and
followed the Zoroastrian religion. These three features helped form the Persian Empire grow and
conquer making them the most valued aspects of the civilization.
The Persian Empire covered Southwest Asia, Northeast Africa, and extended over 2000 miles from the
Black to the Arabian Sea. The empire was mainly deserts, mountains, and large waters (Emberling).
They relied on the surrounding bodies of water to provide their deserts with a water supply but the
only water source was thousands of miles away. The Persian Empire was like a crossroad between the
Indian and Mediterranean Empires. Being at this location Persians were able to learn about other
civilizations, religions, cultures, and traditions through trading (Bentley 168 170). The geography
around the Empire allowed easy trading and the spread of diversity between the empires.
The geography of the Persian Empire helped make them more successful. Since the

Buddhism in China Essay examples
Buddhism in China
Between the third and ninth centuries C.E. China underwent a number of changes in its cultural
makeup. Foremost amongst them was the adoption of Buddhist religious practices. I must stress that
this was not a formal or universal change in religion but a slow integration of a system that permitted
adaptation of its own form to promote acceptance as long as the fundamental theories and practices
remained the same, unlike most religions. Buddhism worked its way into the court and decision
makers of the
Chinese state and that was the major sticking point for the religion in China. For
Buddhism to be accepted the Emperor would have to condone it and at least offer his acceptance of it.

The emperor of China was, throughout the course of Buddhism s introduction to
China, reluctant to accept it as an officially sanctioned religion as the tenants of the religion have the
ability to be taken as believing in the reducing of the power of the head of state to a subservient
position to the religion. This was a major problem as the pre existing religion, Confucism, had as one
of its tenants strict loyalty to the emperor.
This loyalty aspect of Confucism granted the emperor a divine claim of authorization for his power
and use of it. The main sticking point that Buddhism had to get past to be openly accepted in China
was the emperor. He controlled the flow of information from outside sources into the areas where
people would be willing to accept new thoughts and beliefs. The court officials were similar in
position towards Buddhism as the emperor was due to the close relationship between his power and
theirs. However, as the people whom implement the policies of the emperor they are also very
important to the spread of the religion. In their capacity they have the ability to hinder the spread and
to wrongfully use their power to arrest and cripple the religion. This hindering may be against the
emperors wishes but with such a vast political structure the

A Rhetorical Analysis Of El Paso Zoo
Whether it is by using the written word, a speech, or any other medium, in order to convey a message

Aristotle believed that effective speakers use three kinds of appeals to make their arguments
convincing; ethos, the credibility of the speaker, logos, the speaker s actual message, and pathos, or
the emotional appeal the speaker arises in its audience. These rhetorical appeals are present in many
aspects of everyday life, including in websites. Websites such as the El Paso Zoological Society use

The Pros And Cons Of School Shootings
Akin to Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook, reports of another school shooting dominate the
airwaves. On December 7, 2017, at a high school in Aztec, New Mexico, twenty one year old, William
Atchinson, disguised himself as a student and entered the school at 8:00 a.m. He hid in a bathroom
until his first victim, football player, Francisco Fernandez came in. He then shot and killed
cheerleader, Casey Marquez, in the hallway before continuing his spree, firing through walls into
classrooms, attempting to kill more people. All the while, no one on the school staff was able to do
anything except flee, hide, or try to disarm the shooter. His spree ended only when police arrived on
scene and Atchinson turned the gun on himself. School shootings in the US are not a new thing. In
fact, they go back to before this nation s birth. Nevertheless, school shootings have increased and
because of the 24 hour news cycle and social media, Americans are more aware of them. Throughout
the US, debate continues whereby gun control advocates call for stronger laws limiting the availability
of firearms and ammunition, the capacity of magazines and ...tougher carry license requirements,
including requiring proof of mental stability, proof of a reasonable need to own a gun, or mandatory
safety training... (Nedzel 432). Some even call for repealing the Second Amendment completely.

With regards to continuous restructuring of the company. This issue is a big factor that even stimulates
the first problem. With the re evaluation of the organizational structure the employees tend to lose
confidence and trust in those in charge and therefore their performance is hindered because of this.
Concerning the hiring skills of the company it is very inefficient such as recruiting college kids,
newspaper advertisements, employment agencies and job notices on job search websites. These hiring
skills are very costly and time consuming. The high expectations of management to meet high quotas
is unreasonable and thus puts pressure on the salesmen causing them to perform unethical actions such
as posting incorrect sales figures just to please their managers. Options that can assist the firm in these
issues are by management evaluating the company and making a consistent and permanent
organizational structure. To make the hiring process more efficient it needs to be shorter in length, be
specific in the characteristics of the potential employee to avoid the many steps and narrow the
amount of hiring methods to reduce costs. Not stretching quotas is another factor that needs to be
considered by management. This can be done through lowering their expectations of sales in the same
time frame that currently exists making them realistic, give incentives if they need to be stretched,
employ feedback from sales persons so as to assign comfortable quotas around each

Reflection Paper
This summer during May and June, I attended the internship at a company named Focus on Fur
Animal Wellness and Massage, which is owned by a certified small animal massage practitioner. We
both love animals such as dogs and cats and we both keep a dog at home. Our common points made us
feel connected with each other that we had so many topics especially for dogs to talk about. In
addition, the job contents were mostly related to dogs, which attracted me and made me want to
explore more knowledge in this field. I was responsible for multiple tasks during this internship, since
the company was a small start up company that provided me the opportunity to handle almost
everything that a company needs at the preliminary stage. Before my internship, I had no real
direction of a particular position that I would like to pursue as my future career goal. I was trying to
find an opportunity in which I could gain some working experience as well as put on my resume.
Looking back now, an internship with various tasks helps me realize what I am willing to do and
which aspect I am better with. On the other hand, contrary to the experience of completing an
internship at a standard large firm, this internship allowed me to be more creative and bold to make
decisions instead of doing some fixed tasks with strict rules. My supervisor had another full time job
to take care with, so I worked from home individually, and would get in

by the Cajuns many times reflected their language. Slang phrases such as ?oh yai yi?, an expression of
grief or pain, and ?Aaeeh? were shouted during the song when no lyrics were sung. One particular

Does Technology Help Children Help Or Hinder Their Social...
Summary of the research question and outcome
My guiding question for the research project was, Does the use of technology to entertain children
help or hinder their social development? My interest in this topic was triggered by the previous
research project that was carried out in year 10. That project had a lot to do with human health and the
factors that affect that, so I decided to explore that in further depth using a different topic. Technology
is becoming an increasingly more central aspect of people s lives and hence it is an issue in society. I
wanted to explore this topic and gain knowledge, which could then be used to share with others who
are concerned about the problem. My research was carried out mostly through secondary sources from
the Internet and a primary source, which was an observation. The key findings from my research were
gathered and presented in the form of a report. In the report it was substantiated that my research
question wasn t fully answered, and the effect tablets/smartphones has on brain development were the
main findings. Tablets/smartphones have a significant impact on children s health and can lead to
many physical, psychological and behaviour disorders.

An example of this is the central European countries, which is a centralized system. This means that
the police are almost like a military force. In contrast, the British operate on a decentralized platform,
which means that they operate more closely to the community than a centralized force. The Russian
police have a hard time with more sophisticated crimes such as money laundering or drug trafficking.
The Japanese criminal justice system works well because of police involvement with the citizens.
Japan is studied by many police researchers around the world because of the low crime rate. However,
in contrast many police entities in the Middle East countries do not strenuously try to block to global

The Priceless Treasure By Peggy Bacon
In the illustration The Priceless Find (Antique Shop) , the artist Peggy Bacon is satirizing the idea of
an antique by both emphasizing the idea of beauty and rarity which is considered directly with an
antique as well as point out the literal definition of an antique . The artwork, created in 1943, was
made in a time where America was preoccupied World War II. This historical detail allows the viewer
furthermore to understating the reason why Bacon chose to point out the absurdity of antiques. Before
we can look at Bacon s message, I must first state why the artwork is a humorous account of a real life
event. This illustration was created two years after Peggy Bacon divorced her husband Alexander
Brooks (Meng, 18). Though it could be plausible that the antique shop could symbolize of her broken
marriage, argued with crackled paint, shattered mirror, and dark atmosphere, but Bacon is a realist
(Tarbell, 32). Peggy Bacon was documented in an interview to never create scenes and caricatures but
simply draw from her surroundings. Therefore making up a scene to symbolize an event in her life is
not valid. As to why the artwork is a satirical representation of the real scene, I derived this from both
Bacons love of satire created during her studies at the Arts Student League and from an excerpt taken
from an interview with Bacon. In this interview, Bacon stated the main purpose of a caricature is to
heighten the absurdity of its quality (Meng, 18). Though plausible this could

Christian Disciplines Of The Spiritual Realm
Introduction
The classic Disciplines of the spiritual life call us to move beyond surface living into the depths. They
invite us to explore the inner caverns of the spiritual realm. They urge us to be the answer to a hollow
world. There are many different but important Christian disciplines. Some that as Christian we all
practice on a regular basses while other which people are specifically called to undertake during their
walk. As Christians we may never fully participate in every discipline throughout our walk. The
discipline of fasting is one which has been around before Jesus, Old Testament saints fasted at times of
mourning and national repentance. They fasted when they needed strength or mercy or persevere and
when they wanted a word from God (see 1 Samuel 7:6, Nehemiah 1:4, Esther 4:16). For over 2
thousand years, Fasting has been an important part of our Christian walk, to help us draw closer to
God and to rely and trust Him more.
Summaries your original understanding of the discipline before the course started.
As a young Christian, my knowledge about the Christian disciplines was very limited. I had a very
limited knowledge on fasting. I believed that is was just something Christians did, as God called them
to do, not that there was such a deep meaning to the discipline of fasting. I understood that it was what
Jesus did a number of times.

  • 10. Response To Emperor Worship Emperor Worship Response Emperor worship began as early as the time of Egyptian Pharaohs like that of King Horus, the divine ruler over the whole Egypt (Dollinger, 2017, p. 1). Tracing emperor worship from the Pharaohs and the Ptolemies, Sparta, and Alexander the Great provided evidence of the enormous influence it had on the Roman emperors. When Rome conquered the East, the same divine honors were transferred to the Roman proconsuls (Burton, 1912, p. 80). Acceptance of the imperial cult by Roman rulers in Asia Minor and Greece was far reaching and attributed to Alexander the Great s legacy. However, he was not regarded as a god. Emperor worship was entirely unacceptable to the Jews. It was during the time of King Herod the Great that emperor worship began in Palestine. Herod the Great thought he should be worshiped as others esteemed as deities. However, it was not God s plan, and Herod died without knowing the whereabouts of baby Jesus. The imperial cult reached its peak of popularity in the 2nd century and in the 4th century began to lose its religious relevance. The decline of imperial cult worship was attributed to the rise of Christianity. As Christianity became the formal worship, emperor worship died. Certain customs that came about during the emperor worship era, such as kneeling before the Emperor or his statue, was still practiced. In the provinces, priests of emperor worship still functioned but their function became more political than religious. Hostility remained between the Jews and Christians toward the Roman emperors. The Roman emperor, Caligula, demanded his statue be set up in synagogues and in the temple of Jerusalem. Is an ambivalent question that can be negative or positive, and I have noticed an obstacle in my community that relates to the words care and change. Obstacles, hurdles, and complications tend to sound abrasive in a manner, but the irony behind the true definition of those words leaves a person gratified with morals and stories. Since the progression of human connectivity humans have evolved with the fast pace of life which blocks will for change due to selfishness, laziness, and stupidity. The environment we live has developed a habit of being or putting obstacles in our way, but we can change them like I mentioned. So in conclusion my sole message is that apathy about change can be redefined, not as one inner disorder, but as a social barrier that emphasizes disengagement. If we believe that one person trying to make a change is futile and our neighbors are stupid, lazy, and selfish then there s no chance for change. The Bluest Eye And Alison Bechdel s Fun Home Essay Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye and Alison Bechdel s Fun Home are both novels that employ a reflective narration of the past to address common themes of trauma, unorthodox family relationships, and sexuality. Although they demonstrate pronounced differences in setting and design, both stories utilize this retrospective narrative to expose masculinity s stratified hegemony as a driving force of internalized shame, violence, and the death of self. Furthermore, it becomes clear that these shared themes result from the intense pressure to conform to the asymmetrical hierarchy s ideal masculine identity through an analysis of the characters Cholly and Bruce. Before examining these characters it is important to define gender with the understanding that masculinity is a gendered hegemony. In her definition of gender, Judith Halberstam notes that gender is socially systematized, performed, and reproduced in cultures, institutions, and individual identities (Burgett, Bruce, and Hendler, 116). Mimi Schippers expands this definition in her article on gendered violence, implying that masculinity is central to gender relations. In short, Schippers defines masculinity as simultaneously a place in gender relations, the practices through which men and women engage... in gender, and the effects of these practices on bodily experience, personality, and culture (Schippers, 86). An inventory management system, inventory control, and inventory accuracy are paramount to a mass production manufacturing facility, especially when multiple part types and multiple product types are being produced. Raw component inventory can account for millions of dollars of an organizations cash, which is not contributing to profitability until converted to a product and sold. Therefore, it is essential for an organization to have an inventory management system and an inventory control process to account for the value associated with each part and ultimately to return value to the operation. Inventory inaccuracy can negatively impact the performance of the production control system (Chan Wang, 2014). It is difficult to account for raw materials at every stage of the manufacturing process with complete accuracy, thus, an error between the actual inventory level and the supply chain management systems record of inventories cannot be completely avoided. However, when an inaccuracy exists in the raw materials inventory it creates a negative effect on the material requirement planning (MRP) systems. The inaccuracy of the material requirement planning systems has a negative impact on the performance of production planning and scheduling, which contributes to a less than optimal production output, potentially disappointing customers with lack of manufactured goods. The company was founded in 1990. The founders were able to enter the market largely on the basis of acquiring patent licenses from larger optical fiber firms. These licenses restricted competition between the entities and provided OFC with instant access to optical fiber technology. Analysis Of Borderlands By Gloria Anzaldua Speaking of Texas U.S. Southwest/Mexican border, the first thing appears in many people s mind is a horizontal line with US on the upper side and Mexico on the lower, as depicted in maps. These two functions seem to contradict each other but in fact they exactly reflect the complex nature of borders, or, more realistically, borderlands, a term coined to uproot in people the misleading image of a line. In her book Borderlands, the author Gloria Anzaldua, as a descendent of Indians and Mexicans living close to the America Mexico border in Southern Texas, defies such dualistic and simplistic thinking about the border/double sided or multi sided dilemma, suggesting a new mestiza consciousness , a tolerance of ambiguity and a way of creating new personal culture from her accounting with all three cultures, as opposed to adopting only one of them without independent thinking and confronting against the rest. This new way of thinking stems from the reality of borderlands but instead of stopping there the author expands its application to establishing both cultural and sexual identities. The emperor of China was, throughout the course of Buddhism s introduction to China, reluctant to accept it as an officially sanctioned religion as the tenants of the religion have the ability to be taken as believing in the reducing of the power of the head of state to a subservient position to the religion. This was a major problem as the pre existing religion, Confucism, had as one of its tenants strict loyalty to the emperor. This loyalty aspect of Confucism granted the emperor a divine claim of authorization for his power and use of it. The main sticking point that Buddhism had to get past to be openly accepted in China was the emperor. He controlled the flow of information from outside sources into the areas where people would be willing to accept new thoughts and beliefs. The court officials were similar in position towards Buddhism as the emperor was due to the close relationship between his power and theirs. However, as the people whom implement the policies of the emperor they are also very important to the spread of the religion. In their capacity they have the ability to hinder the spread and to wrongfully use their power to arrest and cripple the religion. This hindering may be against the emperors wishes but with such a vast political structure the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Greek philosopher Aristotle believed that effective speakers use three kinds of appeals to make their arguments convincing; ethos, the credibility of the speaker, logos, the speaker s actual message, and pathos, or the emotional appeal the speaker arises in its audience. These rhetorical appeals are present in many aspects of everyday life, including in websites. • 28. The Pros And Cons Of School Shootings Akin to Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook, reports of another school shooting dominate the airwaves. On December 7, 2017, at a high school in Aztec, New Mexico, twenty one year old, William Atchinson, disguised himself as a student and entered the school at 8:00 a.m. He hid in a bathroom until his first victim, football player, Francisco Fernandez came in. He then shot and killed cheerleader, Casey Marquez, in the hallway before continuing his spree, firing through walls into classrooms, attempting to kill more people. All the while, no one on the school staff was able to do anything except flee, hide, or try to disarm the shooter. His spree ended only when police arrived on scene and Atchinson turned the gun on himself. School shootings in the US are not a new thing. In fact, they go back to before this nation s birth. Nevertheless, school shootings have increased and because of the 24 hour news cycle and social media, Americans are more aware of them. Throughout the US, debate continues whereby gun control advocates call for stronger laws limiting the availability of firearms and ammunition, the capacity of magazines and ...tougher carry license requirements, including requiring proof of mental stability, proof of a reasonable need to own a gun, or mandatory safety training... (Nedzel 432). Some even call for repealing the Second Amendment completely. Obversely, equal numbers of US citizens vehemently oppose such broad sweeping and draconian measures. Many measures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With regards to continuous restructuring of the company. This issue is a big factor that even stimulates the first problem. With the re evaluation of the organizational structure the employees tend to lose confidence and trust in those in charge and therefore their performance is hindered because of this. Concerning the hiring skills of the company it is very inefficient such as recruiting college kids, newspaper advertisements, employment agencies and job notices on job search websites. These hiring skills are very costly and time consuming. The high expectations of management to meet high quotas is unreasonable and thus puts pressure on the salesmen causing them to perform unethical actions such as posting incorrect sales figures just to please their managers. Options that can assist the firm in these issues are by management evaluating the company and making a consistent and permanent organizational structure. To make the hiring process more efficient it needs to be shorter in length, be specific in the characteristics of the potential employee to avoid the many steps and narrow the amount of hiring methods to reduce costs. Not stretching quotas is another factor that needs to be considered by management. This can be done through lowering their expectations of sales in the same time frame that currently exists making them realistic, give incentives if they need to be stretched, employ feedback from sales persons so as to assign comfortable quotas around each ... Reflection Paper On Fur Animal Wellness And Massage Xinran Xu SM395 Management Internship Summer 2015 Reflection Paper This summer during May and June, I attended the internship at a company named Focus on Fur Animal Wellness and Massage, which is owned by a certified small animal massage practitioner. We both love animals such as dogs and cats and we both keep a dog at home. Our common points made us feel connected with each other that we had so many topics especially for dogs to talk about. In addition, the job contents were mostly related to dogs, which attracted me and made me want to explore more knowledge in this field. I was responsible for multiple tasks during this internship, since the company was a small start up company that provided me the opportunity to handle almost everything that a company needs at the preliminary stage. Before my internship, I had no real direction of a particular position that I would like to pursue as my future career goal. I was trying to find an opportunity in which I could gain some working experience as well as put on my resume. Looking back now, an internship with various tasks helps me realize what I am willing to do and which aspect I am better with. On the other hand, contrary to the experience of completing an internship at a standard large firm, this internship allowed me to be more creative and bold to make decisions instead of doing some fixed tasks with strict rules. French songs sung by the Cajuns many times reflected their language. • 32. Does Technology Help Children Help Or Hinder Their Social... Summary of the research question and outcome My guiding question for the research project was, Does the use of technology to entertain children help or hinder their social development? My interest in this topic was triggered by the previous research project that was carried out in year 10. That project had a lot to do with human health and the factors that affect that, so I decided to explore that in further depth using a different topic. Technology is becoming an increasingly more central aspect of people s lives and hence it is an issue in society. I wanted to explore this topic and gain knowledge, which could then be used to share with others who are concerned about the problem. My research was carried out mostly through secondary sources from the Internet and a primary source, which was an observation. The key findings from my research were gathered and presented in the form of a report. In the report it was substantiated that my research question wasn t fully answered, and the effect tablets/smartphones has on brain development were the main findings. Tablets/smartphones have a significant impact on children s health and can lead to many physical, psychological and behaviour disorders. Hanna consistently maintained the thesis through out the book because the letters allowed readers to see what it was like to live as a peasant in rural France during War World I. Hanna consistently shows why the Pireaud s story should be told. Hanna used the letters to explain different things that were happening militarily; Hanna described Paul s experiences in some of France s bloodiest battle, such as the Verdun and the Somme. The Priceless Treasure By Peggy Bacon In the illustration The Priceless Find (Antique Shop) , the artist Peggy Bacon is satirizing the idea of an antique by both emphasizing the idea of beauty and rarity which is considered directly with an antique as well as point out the literal definition of an antique . The artwork, created in 1943, was made in a time where America was preoccupied World War II. This historical detail allows the viewer furthermore to understating the reason why Bacon chose to point out the absurdity of antiques. Before we can look at Bacon s message, I must first state why the artwork is a humorous account of a real life event. This illustration was created two years after Peggy Bacon divorced her husband Alexander Brooks (Meng, 18). Though it could be plausible that the antique shop could symbolize of her broken marriage, argued with crackled paint, shattered mirror, and dark atmosphere, but Bacon is a realist (Tarbell, 32). Peggy Bacon was documented in an interview to never create scenes and caricatures but simply draw from her surroundings. Therefore making up a scene to symbolize an event in her life is not valid. As to why the artwork is a satirical representation of the real scene, I derived this from both Bacons love of satire created during her studies at the Arts Student League and from an excerpt taken from an interview with Bacon. In this interview, Bacon stated the main purpose of a caricature is to heighten the absurdity of its quality (Meng, 18). Though plausible this could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
