This document discusses a finite element analysis of a camshaft assembly using ANSYS. Based on physical and thermal properties graphite cast iron has got more strength than sand cast Mg alloy and it is clear from the results that the load carrying capacity of former is larger than the later. Hence Graphite cast iron is preferred for the manufacture of rack and pinion.
In static structural analysis the total deformation and von - mises stresses are more in sand cast Mg alloy than graphite cast iron. Hence graphite cast iron has better strength than Sand cast Mg alloy.
In modal analysis the number mode shapes are higher for graphite cast iron than sand cast Mg alloy.
Under transient conditions the total deformation of Graphite CI is less than that of Sand cast mg alloy. Hence former is preferred under Transient conditions.
Under fatigue loads the damage is more in sand cast Mg alloy. Hence graphite CI is preferred for manufacturing of Rack and pinion.
Hence Keeping all the analysis in view the graphite cast iron is preferred over sand cast Mg alloy.

Abstract Wheels are the main components of the car. The wheels with tires provide the better cushioning effect to the car. Without engine a car may be towed but at the same time a car cannot be towed without wheels. . The main requirement of the vehicle or automobile tires are it must be perfect to perform its all the functions. Reverse engineering is a good method to redesign the old component. The wheels have to pass different tests for best performance like static analysis, vibration analysis etc. In this project a wheel was considered for the analysis. During the part of the thesis project aluminium alloy was carried out for the FEA analysis. Design is an important manufacturing activity which provides the quality of the product. The 3-dimensional model of the alloy wheel was designed by using the technology reverse engineering. The 3-dimensional model was designed in the modelling software CATIA v5.and further it was imported to the ANSYS 15.0 by using IGES format. The finite element analysis of the model was meshed by using 10 node tetrahedron solid element. The static condition was chosen for the analysis. This was constrained in all degree of freedom at the bolt. The pressure was applied on the outer rim surface of the alloy wheel. In the analysis, the results of the equivalent stress, safety factor, and deformation were calculated. In this analysis the von-misses stress were below the yield strength. Connecting Rods are practically generally used in all varieties of automobile engines. Acting as an
intermediate link between the piston and the crankshaft of an engine. It is responsible for transmission of the up
and down motion of the piston to the crankshaft of the engine, by converting the reciprocating motion of the
piston to the rotary motion of crankshaft. Thus, this study aims to carry out for the load, strain and stress analysis
of the crank end of the connecting rod of different materials. Based on which the High Strength Carbon Fiber
connecting rod will be compared with connecting rod made up of Stainless Steel and Aluminum Alloy. The
results can be used for optimization for weight reduction and for design modification of the connecting rod. Pro-E
software is used for modeling and analyses are carried out in ANSYS software. The results archived can also help
us identify the spot or section where chances of failure are high due to stress induced. Also the results obtained
can be used to modify the existing designs so that better performance and longer life cycle can be archived.

The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.

A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
