The Importance Of Finding Useful And Strong Evidence
Finding useful and strong evidence is always one of the most difficult, yet one of the most important
aspectpart of writing an essay. Evidence is the foundationbase of an essay and all the essay s content
relies on the evidence to support it and make a powerful statement. Most college students are familiar
with the concept of finding and using evidence to support their arguments in their essays. It has been
something that we have learned in grade school that we have all executed on all of our essays.
Evidence is used in order to make all statements and arguments deemed correct. It is always difficult
to refute someone when they have strong evidence. With good evidence, the author is able to convince
the reader to believe what the author is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many parts of the article, I will either include a lot of my own analysis or a lot of quotes from other
articles. I need to find a perfect balance between the two so i have the perfect amount of my own work
and analysis and the evidence I need to include in order to justify my analysis. Another weakness I
think is the way I cite my sources. I m not completely sure the best way to cite my source. I know that
I need to have a works cited part but I struggle with incorporating my citation into the actual text.
Some strengths that I have are my organization. I was able to split my article into separate sections
and each section describes a different factor that students should take account of when finding sources
and evidence for their writings. I also think a strength of mine was relating to the audience because I
know that my audience is college students, so incorporated different scenarios and situations that they
would relate to more. For example, I know that college students are typically very experienced in
social media, so I incorporated a section about social media because I know that many college
students may not know that using social media as a new source is not resourceful.

Navajo Long Walk
From 1863 1868, the Navajo, or Diné, found themselves the target of a major campaign of war by the
Union Army and surrounding enemies in the American Southwest, resulting in a program of removal
and internment. This series of events is known to the Navajo as the Long Walk , where as a people the
Navajo were devastated by acts of violence from multiple factions of enemies. The perspectives of the
Navajo regarding the Long Walk can grant context to the changes occurring in the American
Southwest during the American Civil War, where the focus of the Union s military might fell upon
Native Americans instead of Confederate forces. Rather than as a program of Indian removal resulting
from the Civil War militarization of the Southwest, the Navajo ... Show more content on

Because Navajo resistance had been scattered, the tribe had not been brought to Bosque Redondo all
at one time, with some Navajo being confined to the reservation gradually upon capture or surrender
over the years, and other evading capture entirely. In Navajo oral histories there exist stories of
ancestors who escaped the Reservation, one such story by a Navajo states, My great grandmother was
captured...and taken to Hweeldi as a slave. She was barefooted all the time. There she cooked for the
soldiers every day until she got tired of cooking, and decided to run away. Her feet became blistered
from running What can be learned from stories like these are how Navajo understood the position of
those who were taken captive an placed on the reservation. The description of the great grandmother
as being taken to Bosque Redondo as a slave speaks to the degradation of status faced by captives,
further supported by the notion that one would be required to assist their captors, in this case, through
cooking. The difficulties of the life on the reservation prompted many to attempt escapes. Humiliated
by their defenselessness, and greatly demoralized by the consistent attacks by other tribes, many
Navajo refused to remain. During raids, children and other loved ones could be taken

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster [a]nd treat those two imposters just the same, says
Rudyard Kipling, [. . .] [y]ours is the Earth and everything that s in it. The world seems topsy turvy,
the lines between victory and defeat, happiness and horror, can be blurred. In Rudyard Kipling s short

such as opium addictions and dysfunctional families to exhibit real life problems in society. Kipling
observes the delusional and twisted joys induced by opium, that which is revered rather than scorned

What Is Amanda Evil
The Glass Menagerie is a play written by Tennessee Williams. It was first published in 1945. The
Glass Menagerie is a memory play, and the narrator is Tom Wingfield. Tom works at a shoe factory to
support his family after this father abandoned them. Laura, the older sister, is not only morbidly shy
due to a brace she wears around her leg, but she lives in her own fantasy world of glass animals and
old records. Amanda, the mother of both children, was raised in an upper class family. She often tells
stories about her life and the many gentlemen callers she received. Throughout Tom s memory, the
character s frustrations lead to heated arguments, which then leads to a tragic ending. Therefore, a
central idea in The Glass Menagerie focuses on the impossibility of true escape and the frustrations
each character experiences.

Amanda, the mother of both children, sells magazine subscriptions over the phone. She is in conflict
with herself; her magazine subscription calls are embarrassing, but she is willing to sacrifice her
reputation for her children. I believe this is similar to Tom. She cannot properly express her care and
love towards her children. Many people call Amanda evil because of her nagging towards Tom and
neglect towards accepting Laura. However, instead of evil, I think she is unable to accept reality.
Amanda s childhood was spent being popular, and she had some degree of luxury. However, after the
Great Depression, she lost everything. I agree that this is hard to accept, and this is possibly the reason
she lives in her own fantasy world, just like her own children. Amanda chooses to live in her past:

callers! (Williams, 5). Amanda does not realize that she is living in the past. Therefore, Amanda lives

Analysis Of William Blake s Frankenstein Essay
Sadaf Tabibzadeh English 6 Professor Dossett 10.02.2015 Contraries in Frankenstein Most people
would think that contraries only exist to dominate each other, making the other side appear less
significant. However, the opposite of this is true. The beauty of a rose stands out more because of the
thorns that it contains. Without the thorns, it would just be an average flower. A day wouldn t be as
bright if it wasn t compared to the darkness of night. And joy wouldn t be so joyful, if it wasn t for
pain (50 cent). Contrasts highlight movements in an element, by pointing out the differences that are
shown by the opposite side. They in fact, bring out the good and bad features in anything. William
Blake is known for his famous quote, Without contraries there is no progression. He continues to show
contraries in many of his works, including Marriage of Heaven and Hell , and his poem written in
1794, The Sick Rose, Blake introduces the idea of contraries that are layered in the simplicity of these
lines. At first, to the reader, it may only seem that he is writing about a simple dying rose, however
there is more to it. He is also mentioning how this is benefiting the worm that decides to reside in it.
The best interpretation that comes to mind, is the loss of virginity. The rose symbolizes a virgin, pure
and untampered (a vagina). The invisible worm symbolizes the possibility of penetration (penis). This
can be a feminist take on the idea of beauty and destruction.

The Impact Of The Golden Age Of Literature
With the end of the conflict that resulted to the war between the United States of America and Great
Britain after the ratification of the Treaty of Ghent, America entered into an era that saw great changes
politically, economically, and socially. The presidential elections were more vibrant as more men
partook in the exercise, the industrial and economic growth was notably consistent with growth in
science, arts, and the textile industries, and the emancipation of slavery led to the end of that trade
with the civil war of 1861 to 1865. The crucial development of this century was the development and
changes that saw the beginning of a new era of politics. As result of the high political contention
between the Democrats and the Whigs, American would have twenty presidents between 1825 with
John Quincy Adams win and William McKinley in 1897. The presidential contention of 1824 between
John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson would take the American politics to a new height. Even

beliefs, they essentially developed literature in ways that were not seen before. While literature took
great strides in this era, journalism also became a part of the popular culture for the people. In fact,

The Reality of Freedom During World War I
World War I a conflict within Europe impacted American society unimaginably. The changes that
occur have an impact on the individual and their freedom. During the war, freedom became restricted;
the effects remained reminiscent and lingered soon after. WWI restricted freedoms that are the

German Americans expected many things to back to normal. They expected the attack on their culture

Characteristics Of The United Kingdom Judicial System
Introduction
The judicial system of the United Kingdom exists as a complex and intricate system of law that has
been practiced, and adjusted over a thousand years to reach the point as is known in the present. The
complexities of the judicial system presents itself as different variations of the legal system within the
United Kingdom, where although they have their differences, they also share certain similarities
between them. One such similarity is that they all hold certain requirements for Judges which exist as
a centralized idea within the judicial system, as they are not entirely separated between the varying
legal systems of the United Kingdom. The complexities and similarities of the United Kingdom s
judicial system will be explored through their: structure, documentation, categorization, and the
requirements of judges; where all of which will create a clearer picture to better understand how these
elements operate. The paper will be divided into two categories: the Judicial System, and the
Requirements of Judges. First, the judicial system will be explored through it s structure,
documentation, and classification of a legal system; and secondly will move into the certain
requirements that judges have in the United Kingdom. Both elements serve to essentially build a
foundation that explains a clearer picture of how the judicial system of the United Kingdom practices
law, and the expectations those in power hold.

Bless Me, Ultima By Rudolfo Anaya
When we think of childhood we think of blissful, exhilarating moments, like being pushed on a swing
higher and higher feeling as if you could stretch your hand and grasp the clouds, as you experience the
cooling air of a hot summer day on your blushed face, as you yelped to be pushed further into the
clouds. We do not think of the anguish and questions that the sight of death brings. But that s exactly
what happens to six year old Antonio Marez in the novel Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya. When
young Antonio witnesses the death of a local War Veteran, a family friend, and a classmate, it leaves
him with transforming effects, prompting him to question death, sin, morality, and in the end leading
him to be ambivalent towards his Catholic beliefs. Through every mortifying act that he witnesses, he
has the guidance of Ultima, an elderly curandera, healer, who uses her wisdom to lead Antonio to
answer his own questions.
Antonio s questions about good vs evil begin when he first foreshadows that his innocence and peace
would be shattered and everything in his life would change forever. He foresees a new period of
difficulty and conflict that parallels his transition away from childish innocence and towards becoming
a man of learning. But the innocence which our isolation sheltered could not last forever, and the
affairs of the town began to reach across our bridge and enter my life. (15). The beginning of his
transition comes when Jason s father, Chavez comes to the

How Did Hernan Cortes Conquer The Aztec
Hernán Cortés is an important Spanish conquistador who was responsible for the fall of the Aztecs.
Cortes was born Medellin, Spain to a family of minor nobility. He chose to be part of the military in
the new world. The age of exploration basically started with Columbus finding the Americas. In the
beginning, Cortes moved to Santo Domingo in the west of the Indies. Couple of years later, he fought
under the supervision of Diego Velazquez. Cortes was supposed to sail to the Yucatan in 1519, it was
canceled because of the cost. Although Cortes conquered the Aztec Empire to make them join the holy
faith of Christianity, his main priorities were searching for gold for himself and to become in power.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Block Codes
Communication systems consist of transmitter, channel, and receiver. The latter can be affected by a
noise source, such as the Additive White Gaussian noise (AWGN) which, in turn, can cause a change
in the data transmission. As a result of data change or corruption, the idea of channel coding was
introduced as a reliable solution to overcome this dilemma. Nowadays, we use some techniques as
Forward error correction (FEC) to reduce the errors that might appear during the information
transmission over the channel. In this technique, the system adds redundant (extra) bits to identify if a
specific bit is corrupted or not and correct it. FEC Channel codes may be classified into two main
categories: the Convolutional Code and the Block Code. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In other words, block coding is a memory less operation as code words are independent from each
other. In contrast, the output of a convolutional encoder doesn t only depend on the current input
information, but also depends on the previous inputs or outputs; either on a block by block or a bit by
bit basis. Each kind of block codes gets a special generation matrix and a decoding matrix.
Unfortunately, the main disadvantage of block codes is that we cannot extract the information until the
whole code is received. In addition, the entire block has to be retransmitted in case of error.
Convolutional encoders:
In several applications the message bits are transmitted serially rather than blocks. In such cases, it is
not preferred to use a buffer. Thus, the use of convolutional codes may be the optimum method as it
generates redundant bits by using modulo 2 convolutions hence the name of the coder.
The convolutional encoder can be represented as a finite state machine (FSM) with a given number of
shift register stages. For example, if there is a K stage shift registers (usually D flip flops) with a rate
of encoder input bits to its output is 1/n and L bits length message, so the coded output sequence will
have the length of n (L+K) bits .
The most common convolutional encoders have the following parameters: K=2

Liesel Theme In The Book Thief
Book thief Liesel s life, in the book The Book Thief by Mark Zuasak, represented the beauty in the
wake of brutality. Liesel went through a lot of hardship but also saw some of the best things, as in the
meaning in friendship and many other things. She also when all odds were against her she would still
want to live unlike most people if they were put through some of stuff that she did. She also would
take things that were bad and turn them into something good into something that wasn t as awful as it

found out the meaning of friendship and to be able to trust people again. Also when Max had come to
live with them and she had became very very close with Max. She would spend time with him in the
basement reading, writing, talking, and imagining things. She then had truly learned then what it was
like to become very close to someone. You saw the friendship start and then blossom. I think Mark
does a wonderful job at making this beautiful all the way through the book. At first he really makes
Liesel seem to have issues with people when she first arrived at her foster parents house. Then he has
where she begins to trust and go have friendships start to form. For instance, another point about the
beauty in her brutal story is that also when Liesel s family and first love had bombed to death. She had

Observing Adolescents Through Adolescent Males And Females
OBSERVING ADOLESCENTS IN THIER NATURAL HABITAIT EMINA SEHOVIC
Do you remember adolescence ? The awkwardness, the pimples, the first crush, the first kiss? Wasn t
it the best? Don t you wish you could go back? I don t. Like most people I hated adolescence it was a
strange and confusing time. Looking back at my adolescents I sometimes wonder why I acted the way
I did. During this observation I couldn t help but think I really hope I wasn t this bad back then, but
lets face it I probably was.
Introduction
My group observed adolescents, we were looking for variations in behavior between males and
females. We theorized that in public places adolescent males and females would act differently
according to the environment they were in. We also predicted that their behavior would be influenced
by who they were around, peers or parents. O Koon, J. (1997), did a study looking at adolescents
relationships to parents and peers. In his study he found that females had a much stronger attachment
to their peers than males, attachment to parents was strong for both. In our observations we saw some
similar results.
Methods
For our research project we split our group and divided up the observation tasks. One part of the group
went to the mall, another went to a high school football game and a high school volleyball game. I
went to the mall for my observation, more specifically I went to the most popular adolescent stores
stores such as Forever 21, American Eagle, Dicks

Proximity In Pep Talks
Proximity is the nearness of surrounding objects for an individual. While attending the pep rally
Marcus is able to experience sight and sound from the band and the people around him. Proximity
allows Marcus to notice everything around him which maximizes the pleasure of being at the pep
rally.
The tendency to perceive a complete or whole figure relates to closure. As Marcus watches the
cheerleaders spell out leaders individually, Marcus is able to use closure to make each letter a whole
word. Another form of closure at the pep rally is Marcus s perception of each student sitting with their
grade level, because of their class colors.
Similarity is similar to closure in the sense that Marcus is able to notice the similarity in class colors to

Figure ground is used in Marcus s experience when he uses the background music from the speaker to
link that to the band.
Selective attention, focuses on attention to a particular stimuli, this was showed a lot through Marcus s
experience. He focused on each stimuli in the school pep rally. For example he first focused on the
students organized by grade. He then defered his attention to the school band being played through the
speaker. After that, his attention was on the cheers from the crowd and cheerleaders. Having selective
attention, may have made Marcus lack little details like any other events happening during the pep
rally.
Sensory adaptation is the process by which we become more sensitive to weak stimuli. The longer we
can adapt affects how sensitive we are to stimuli.
Sensitivity is the quality or lack of being sensitive. This can affect the process of sensation because
sensitivity is a reflection of how someone may perceive something. For example certain cultures
believe that eating animals like pig is unholy which may make them sensitive to going to an all pork

The Catcher in the Rye, a novel written by J.D. Salinger, follows the short journey in which a teenage
boy is coming to terms with his encroaching adulthood. Holden, the main character, has been kicked
out of a private school for the third time. In New York, he is on the verge of a mental breakdown.
Holden is reluctant to act on the obvious solution of returning home and feels discombobulation
towards the consequences he might have to face. He reflects on the death of his brother and struggles

his childish acts always get in the way of positive reactions from adult and ultimately his acceptance
as an equal. In this search for his right of passage into adulthood,Holden is constantly trying to keep

immature, but as the journey progresses so does Holden. He comes to make rational decisions as his
trip goes on as demonstrated by Salinger when Holden calls Sally and asks her out on a real date; it is
considerably less callow than when he called Faith in the middle of the night in hopes of getting

Despite the accolades, Coke Zero stumbled out of the gate. Big success came only after Coca Cola

The drink was initially marketed with a tagline of everybody chill a vague emotional message that
didn t work. Consumers were left confused about what the brand meant. The Coke Zero brand team
had studied beer ads for clues to appealing to young adult men, but the team hadn t clearly explained
Coke Zero s reason for being in the market.
The company sought to boil down Coke Zero s intrinsic value with a message that it delivered real

Coke Zero was initially sold in white cans and bottles. In the feedback from consumers, Coca Cola
researchers noticed a problem. The white packaging connoted diet drinks, and among the coveted
young male demographic, diet connoted female. The company quickly borrowed an idea from its
Australian division and swathed Coke Zero in black. Within six months, the new marketing and

Kenneth Fearing’s Dirge Essay
Kenneth Fearing s Dirge
Traditionally, dirges are composed in the form of a song or hymn of mourning as a memorial to a dead
person. The very definition suggests that the particular qualities of the dead individual deserve
recognition. The dirge is not just written for anyone, but for those deserving of glorification, who
survive in the memories of the living as testaments to the greater capacities of humankind. It is against
this traditional definition that Kenneth Fearing s poem, Dirge , is working, not only as an overt
commentary on the social, cultural, and political factors surrounding the destabilization of 1930 s
America but also as an abstraction of the prevalent views of reality: the dehumanization of the human.
Fearing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first stanza, the third person semi omniscient speaking voice establishes the conclusive
paradigm of the poem: death by suicide. Though the death of the individual is a highly conventional
type of tragic presentation, the way in which this presentation is established in the Dirge is. The absent
function of any emotional signifiers is replaced by a parody of the numerical fluctuations of the stock
market. The unnamed man s death is never mentioned openly, and the circumstances resulting in his
death are highly trivialized. Consistent with the market allusion, the reader is left to speculate exactly
what sort of concrete events are occurring within in the first stanza. From the very start, the poem
challenges any threnodic conventions by disassociating the subject of death from the human subject.
Though in stark contrast to the first stanza in form, the two part second stanza continues with this
disconnect of death from the subject in the poem. Each part begins with an emotionally charged direct
address to a male subject using expletive language. The speaking voice is conceivably appealing to
both the functional presence of the dead man and every other man who fits into the category of the
executive type. This stanza uses a type of call and response form as a rhetorical commentary on the
nature of chance, a continuation of the stock market theme from

Eighteenth Century English Literature
Chapter III: Eighteenth Century English Literature
LITERATURE OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT
(18th century)
The 17th century was one of the most stormy periods of English history. The growing contradictions
between the new class, the bourgeoisie, and the old forces of feudalism brought about the English
Bourgeois Revolution in the 1640s. As a result of the revolution the king was dethroned and beheaded
and England was proclaimed a republic. Though very soon monarchy was restored, the position of the
bourgeoisie had changed.
The 18th century saw Great Britain rapidly growing into a capitalist country. It was an age of intensive

Such composition of the novel gave the author a chance to create an all embracing picture of the 18th
century England, to write a comic epopee as Fielding himself called the novel.
Fielding also worked out the theory of the novel. In the introductory chapters to the eighteen parts of
The History of Tom Jones he put forward the main requirements that the novel should meet: to imitate
life, to show the variety of human nature, to expose the roots and causes of man s shortcomings and to
indicate the ways of overcoming them.
3. Late Enlightenment (Sentimentalism) (1750 1780).
The writers of this period, like the Enlighteners of the first two periods, expressed the democratic
bourgeois tendencies of their time. They also tried to find a way out of the difficulties of the existing
order. However, while their predecessors believed in the force of intellect, they considered feelings (or
sentiments) most important. The principal representatives of sentimentalism in the genre of the novel
were Oliver Goldsmith (The Vicar of Wakefield) and Lawrence Sterne (Tristram Shandy, The
Sentimental Journey) and in drama Richard Sheridan (School for Scandal and other plays).

The Day Will Come That You Won T Be Analysis
Similar to gothic literature, one of the scenes in The Day Will Come That You Won t Be has a biblical
parallel. In this scene, the characters follow part of the story of Abraham and Isaac. In the show,
Negan fulfills the role of God (which he would, undoubtedly, appreciate), Rick is Abraham, and Carl
is Isaac. Negan demands a personal sacrifice of Rick that will protect other people, but cause profound
damage to his son and himself. Negan demands fulfillment up until Rick has resigned himself to
cutting of Carl s arm. Negan does not need Rick to actually complete the act, he just needs Rick to
accept his domination. It functions not only as a test of Rick s sense of duty to his people and the
power of his fear, but also makes Rick grateful to Negan. In a very twisted way, Negan saves Carl by
sparing him from the fate Negan had demanded of him. It is a little different than the original story,
Negan comes out of the situation with Rick s obedience, fear, and maybe some reverence. Maybe it s
not so different after all. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Social, Biological And Psychological Theories
In society today, many individuals are negatively influenced by the media and the way crime is
portrayed. The cause of crime has been studied over decades ago and is continuing to be studied.
Many researchers have had their theories and reasons as to why crime happens and what drives one to
commit crime. Environmental, social, biological and psychological theories are all potential variables
of why crime happens. Critics may argue that crime is caused by the way someone is raised and one
becomes a product of their environment. Others may argue that there is something called the crime
gene. A professor named Dr. Mairi Levitt at the University of Lancaster is a researcher in the field of

Psychological theories attempt to look deep into the mind of the individual Akers et al., (2013).
Psychological theories cover a broad range of approaches as to why crime is committed and what the
causal factors are. Lam, Salkovskis and Warwick (2005) support this and found psychological theories
refers to psychological reactions to stressors, negative beliefs and meanings and feedback loops,
focused on information processing and the mind.
Psychological theories recognize the effect of an individual s experience, especially in early
childhood, and environmental factors that may trigger criminal behavior, but they propose abnormal
personality type/traits or emotional maladjustments as the primary causes of crime Akers et al.,
(2013). Psychological theorists believed that behavior, criminal or non criminal is not related to one s
biological make up. According to Kate Friedlander (1947), classical Freudian psychoanalytic
explanations of delinquency focus on abnormalities or disturbances in the individual s emotion
development from early childhood Akers et al., (2013). In terms of mental health, to better understand
this theory, psychological theories are perceived could influence beliefs of patients and non patients
alike in terms of factors such as stigmatization, beliefs about the outcome of treatment, motivation,

Memory Skills
TRAIN YOUR BRAIN 2
INTRODUCTION
What is Memory?
Memory refers to a mental process that is used to gain, gather, and recover information. The
information that is stored in our memory with the help of our senses will be processed by numerous
systems all through our brain, and it will be accumulated for later use (Mason, 2003 2006). Gordon
and Berger (2003) said that there are two basic kinds of memory: ordinary and intelligent memory.
Ordinary memory is remembering specific names of people, time, place, locations of certain things,
and things to be done. It is comparatively fragile for it stores information for a few minutes, and that
information will soon be forgotten. Thus, it is what fails when we can t remember something. We are

As part of this strategy, we have to determine first what our priorities are. It is essential to distinguish
which things are worth giving attention to and which can be get rid of.
Distractions are everywhere, and they prevent us from doing the things that need to be done. So we
must avoid distractions and ignore all unimportant things in order to complete a certain task and to
avoid forgetting. With this in mind, we shouldn t be disturbed by irrelevant TRAIN YOUR BRAIN 5
things around us because with fewer distractions, it is easier for our mind to focus and work faster. In
enhancing our ability to pay attention, we really need to focus consciously. If we can t focus, we will
not remember what we are trying to learn. Moreover, we tend to procrastinate which is not good. For
this reason, we need to do the important things now while we still have plenty of time. It s simple, if
we can avoid procrastinating, we won t forget anything. In addition to that, we can only concentrate on
one thing at any time. Even though we can multi task, it is still impossible for us to handle different
tasks at the same time especially when they both require mental process. Absolutely, we can t give our
full attention to those; as a result, we absorb nothing.
Another way that hinders our ability to pay attention is being absent minded. For instance, when we

Integrated Criteria Decision Making And Multi Criteria...
Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Research Report CS6705 Prioritized Multi Criteria Decision
Making and Multi Criteria Aggregation By Rizwan Umaid Ali Student # 3494784 Multi Criteria
decision making (MCDM) is an area of Artificial Intelligence which provides capabilities to assess
complex decision problems. The decisions can depend on our preferences of some criteria over others.
In this report, we analyze formulations of MCDM and Multi Criteria Aggregation. To further
understand this, we also see how we calculate prioritized measure of Multi Criteria Aggregation and
its Shapley index. Introduction For a modern application, reaching satisfaction can depend upon
several criteria. Each criteria in it can be satisfied to reach an optimal result, but in real world
scenarios satisfying every criteria is impossible and even not required. For example, if a bill needs to
be passed by an executive committee, we will need only half of the committee s approval to pass it.
This leads us to think that we can reach satisfaction with any set of members of the committee. In fact,
there are several cases where certain criteria have a higher priority than others and satisfaction cannot
be reached without them. For instance, if the president of the executive committee has to approve the
bill and other members just have to favour it, then the president will dominate the other criteria. To
logically state this we can say Satisfy criterion A and if possible satisfy criterion B . We

Analysis Of Donald Blumberg s The Master
Through August 21 to November 22 2015, Yale University Art Gallery is presenting Donald
Blumbergs Photographs: Selection from the Master Sets. 160 photographs from last six decades.
Donald Blumberg is a contemporary American photographer born in 1935. In his early carrier, his
work focused on street photography; later on he developed his own style showing mass media,
identity and consumerism. His black and white photographs explore space, politics and surrounding us
culture. The exhibition is divided in sections, showing different periods of time and subjects that
Blumberg was interested in at that time.
His earlier work in the 60 s shows streets of New York City, both urban areas as people living there.
What s interesting in his work is that he not only captured everyday life, but also signs, advertisements
and newspapers, which give us more information about past events. His street photography resulted in
an amazing series In Front of Saint Patrick s Cathedral . He used the black of the cathedral doorway as
a frame to photograph people emerging from the church. He used a long exposure to black out any
detail inside of the cathedral, and concentrated on the people. The success of the series is in an
unexpected angles and composition he used. Sometimes he would put all the people clustered in a
corner or show only heads on the edge of a photo. His work is very high contrast and dynamic. Some

Where is a very large, integrated collection of data in a Server, held? Yes, the Storage Spaces. These
Storage Spaces lets us combine individual hard disks into storage pools and these can then be

The first one is the simple storage layout that has no resilience, meaning it does not have the capability
of quickly recovering from the difficulties or the disk failures. This storage layout simply writes the
given data into multiple physical disks but doesn t make a clone copy or any information about the
parity. This type of layout is a good choice if your requirement doesn t need a backup of data or the
disk failure scenarios doesn t affect your requirements. This simple storage layout is a good choice in
terms of offering performance for your application if it has its own security essentials. Another type of
storage layout is the parity layout which not only writes the data into stripes across the physical disks
but also writes the parity information into extra copies. This layout is suitable for the requirements that
require maximum capacity with lower writing performances. Example of using the parity layout is
while archiving the media and when media streaming requires huge loads. The last storage layout is
the mirror layout which is similar to the parity storage layout, but with greater performances when
SSDs are added to the storage pool and when the storage tiers are being used. This resilient type writes
the data onto multiple physical disks along with making extra copies of the data and offers protection
to the data in the events of disk failures. The other metric that describes the functionality of storage

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Coconut Oil
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Hair structure is made up of different layers, chemical bonds and amino acids or proteins. The
hair bulb is a structure with actively growing cells which produce hair as we see it. The hair shaft is
the part of a hair that we all see above your scalp is made of a protein named keratin, cemented and
compacted together. Keratin is quite a tough protein and is resilient to wear and tear. The hair shaft
also contains hydrogen bonds which give your hair its flexibility. The hair shaft is made up of three
layers, the cortex, the medulla, and the cuticle. The cortex forms your hair s colour. It contains long
keratin filaments held together by hydrogen bonds and disulphide and the health of the cortex depends
of the cuticle protecting it. The medulla isn t always present but consists of a thin core of air spaces
and transparent cells. The cuticle is a protective layer containing overlapping cells similar to fish
scales. The outer cuticle holds your hair follicle similar to a Velcro like bond.

My Capstone Experience At Fort Gibson Essay
During my Capstone experience I was able to be involved in a training gym in Fort Gibson,

Woodall, Tahlequah, Briggs, Hilldale, Oktaha, Vian, and Muskogee. The sports available were:
basketball, football, baseball, wrestling, and healthy day to day living. There were multiple trainers
and they used multiple different facilities. Since Fort Gibson is somewhat small and limited on their
workout resources they used: local churches, a gym located downtown, outdoor fields at the Fort, the
high school track, and sometimes even do home calls. In basketball the ages of the day were eleven to
fourteen. The athletes started with a dynamic warm up and athletic work for ten to fifteen minutes.
This helps to prevent injury, provides performance improvement and overall athletic ability. During
this particular trainers warm up they liked involving a basketball as much as possible. The next thing
was teaching skills and using fun drills to improve the athlete s skills. This part lasted about thirty to

The Is The Second Most Used Electoral System
FPTP is the second most used electoral system worldwide, and in the UK it is used primarily in
general elections to reach a fully representative, democratic electoral system. In assessing whether we
should scrap FPTP, we must first establish what an electoral system ought to provide. The purpose of
an electoral system in the UK is to fairly elect representatives for the population to make up an
effective government, as we operate with a system of representative democracy. For an ideal
democracy to function, an electoral system that delivers a strong constituency link, genuine voter
choice, an effective government is fundamental. It is also important for a system to operate simply and
with transparency for the population. As Tom Stoppard once wrote, It s not the voting that s
democracy; it s the counting.
These factors are examined through the lenses of proportional representation and accountability, as
supporters of FPTP essentially disagree on whether accountability or proportionality is more necessary
in attaining democracy. FPTP is the system which provides the highest level of accountability of those
used in the UK, and therefore, it is the least proportional system. A strong constituency link is
important in a fully representative, democratic electoral system because it allows the population to be
properly represented by their local MP. On the whole, the FPTP system does enable an effective
constituency link between an elected MP and their constituents, as every

The overall goal of these counseling sessions was to assess the quality and accuracy of pharmacist s
patient counseling of herbal and supplemental products. The initial pilot study was of small scale and
20 out of 34 pharmacists completed the PC G/ PC HDS centered counseling sessions with their
pharmacist. The pharmacists recruited for these initial sessions were selected based on their having a
variety of experience with counseling patients on the use of herbal and supplemental products. The
subsequent study, which was larger in scale was conducted using pharmacists that had professional
experience in counseling patients and knowledge of herbal and supplemental products. 179 out of 330

Myasthenia Gravis Essay
What is Myasthenia gravis ?
Myasthenia gravis is considered as one of the most important common neuromuscular disorders.
Although it is categorized as a neuromuscular disease , there are few other factors other than acquired
immunological abnormality , like genetic abnormality in neuromuscular junction , and some relations
to thymus diseases and cancers.
Myasthenia gravis presents clinically in a variety of ways, with varied symptoms that make it difficult
to diagnose it in initial stages.
As MG became the subject of interest to neurologists mostly in the past years , however it is still
categorized as an autoimmune disease , and much about pathophysiology and immunopathology of
MG has been learned in the past 20 years.
The origin of the autoimmune dysfunction in MG patients is unknown, but thymic abnormalities,
defects in immune regulation and sex hormones play major roles in patients with anti AChR
antibodies. Genetic predisposition is also likely to influence the occurrence of the disease as
mentioned above.
Pathogenesis And Factors :
Autoimmune factors :
As mentioned previously , MG is mostly considered as an acquired autoimmune disease of the
neuromuscular junction. The autoimmune system mostly attacks the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors
located in the postsynaptic endplate membrane.
In MG, the postsynaptic muscle membrane is distorted and simplified, having lost its normal folded
shape, the concentration of acetylcholine receptors on the muscle

Achilles Epic Hero
Anyone reading The Iliad by Homer will be given two examples of an epic hero, Achilles on the
Greeks side and Hector who is on the Trojans side. Out of these two heroes, only one can be the Epic
Hero of the story and that would be Hector. Hector honors and projects the morals of the time by
being developed by Homer as family oriented man who cares about his family and fights for his
homeland. Through only minutes of research you may find that this is exactly what the morals of the
time were, this idea/ virtue is called Pietas. Pietas according to the oxford dictionary means to respect
your country and family. Achilles, on the other hand, shows an example of not living up to the morals
of the time is when Homer writes But it was shame and defilement Achilles Had in mind for Hector.
He pierced the tendons Above the heels and cinched them with leather thongs ... Show more content

This is showed when he seems to be upset at accidentally killing Patroclus. At the end, he even stands
up to Achilles when he realizes that the gods have abandoned him this example shows true strength
the quote that shows this is as follows, But why am I talking to myself like this? I can t go out there
unarmed. Achilles Will cut me down in cold blood if I take off My armor and go out to meet him
Naked like a woman. This is no time For talking, the way a boy and a girl Whisper to each other from
oak tree or rock, A boy and a girl with all their sweet talk. Better to lock up in mortal combat As soon
as possible and see to whom God on Olympus grants the victory. Thus Hector. And Achilles closed in
( Homer 5). This quote as said shows that even though Hector doubts that he can win he does it
because it is what he has to do, this is an example of moral and emotional strength while Achilles only

The Second Set of Doors at the Baptistery
The maintenance and completion of the Baptistery of San Giovanni, one of the oldest and most
significant buildings in Florence, was entrusted to the Arte del Calimala Guild. This wool merchants
guild was the oldest of Florentine guilds and was extremely powerful and wealthy. This wealth and
power was due in large part to the fact that Florence was the fabric capitol of Italy. The Baptistery was
dedicated to Florence s patron saint John the Baptist. Consequently, the first set of doors created by
Andrea Pisano in 1336 depicted scenes from the life of Saint John the Baptist and was installed on the
east or main entrance side. Plans for the other two sets of doors were delayed because of the economic
crash, political unrest, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Documents indicate that Ghiberti and his stepfather, Bartolo di Michele, signed the contract together.
The contract stated that Ghiberti must complete three panels a year. However after several years only
four panels were finished, this was due to the number of commissions Ghiberti was working on at one
time. Contracts required that the artist work on one piece of art at a time, Ghiberti disregarded what
the contract stated, working on numerous pieces at any given time. This prompted the Calimala guild
to enforce a new contract that caused Ghiberti to be the sole contractor and held him to stricter terms.
The Annunciation, Nativity, Adoration of the Magi, Baptism of Christ, Agony in the Garden, were
most likely cast before 1407. Between 1407 and 1413 the following were completed, the Fathers of
the Church and the Evangelists, Christ among the Doctors, The Temptation of Christ in the Desert,
The Crucifixion, The Last Supper. The panels that were made after 1414 included, The Expulsion of
the Money Changers from the Temple, The Entry into Jerusalem, Christ before Pilate, and The Raising
of Lazarus, and the heads of the prophets. The dates these panels were completed are visible because
of the changes in Ghiberti s artistic style and technique. At each intersection of the doors Ghiberti a
carved head of important prophets. Ghiberti

  • 2. The Importance Of Finding Useful And Strong Evidence Finding useful and strong evidence is always one of the most difficult, yet one of the most important aspectpart of writing an essay. Evidence is the foundationbase of an essay and all the essay s content relies on the evidence to support it and make a powerful statement. Most college students are familiar with the concept of finding and using evidence to support their arguments in their essays. It has been something that we have learned in grade school that we have all executed on all of our essays. Evidence is used in order to make all statements and arguments deemed correct. It is always difficult to refute someone when they have strong evidence. With good evidence, the author is able to convince the reader to believe what the author is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In many parts of the article, I will either include a lot of my own analysis or a lot of quotes from other articles. I need to find a perfect balance between the two so i have the perfect amount of my own work and analysis and the evidence I need to include in order to justify my analysis. Another weakness I think is the way I cite my sources. I m not completely sure the best way to cite my source. I know that I need to have a works cited part but I struggle with incorporating my citation into the actual text. Some strengths that I have are my organization. I was able to split my article into separate sections and each section describes a different factor that students should take account of when finding sources and evidence for their writings. I also think a strength of mine was relating to the audience because I know that my audience is college students, so incorporated different scenarios and situations that they would relate to more. For example, I know that college students are typically very experienced in social media, so I incorporated a section about social media because I know that many college students may not know that using social media as a new source is not resourceful. How to Find Reliable Sources as Evidence Introduction The concept of using evidence to support your words is a concept that most people are familiar with and is constantly used everyday. It could be something as simple as proving to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Navajo Long Walk From 1863 1868, the Navajo, or Diné, found themselves the target of a major campaign of war by the Union Army and surrounding enemies in the American Southwest, resulting in a program of removal and internment. This series of events is known to the Navajo as the Long Walk , where as a people the Navajo were devastated by acts of violence from multiple factions of enemies. The perspectives of the Navajo regarding the Long Walk can grant context to the changes occurring in the American Southwest during the American Civil War, where the focus of the Union s military might fell upon Native Americans instead of Confederate forces. The description of the great grandmother as being taken to Bosque Redondo as a slave speaks to the degradation of status faced by captives, further supported by the notion that one would be required to assist their captors, in this case, through cooking. Tom works at a shoe factory to support his family after this father abandoned them. Laura, the older sister, is not only morbidly shy due to a brace she wears around her leg, but she lives in her own fantasy world of glass animals and old records. Amanda, the mother of both children, was raised in an upper class family. She often tells stories about her life and the many gentlemen callers she received. • 7. Analysis Of William Blake s Frankenstein Essay Sadaf Tabibzadeh English 6 Professor Dossett 10.02.2015 Contraries in Frankenstein Most people would think that contraries only exist to dominate each other, making the other side appear less significant. However, the opposite of this is true. The beauty of a rose stands out more because of the thorns that it contains. Without the thorns, it would just be an average flower. A day wouldn t be as bright if it wasn t compared to the darkness of night. And joy wouldn t be so joyful, if it wasn t for pain (50 cent). Contrasts highlight movements in an element, by pointing out the differences that are shown by the opposite side. They in fact, bring out the good and bad features in anything. William Blake is known for his famous quote, Without contraries there is no progression. He continues to show contraries in many of his works, including Marriage of Heaven and Hell , and his poem written in 1794, The Sick Rose, Blake introduces the idea of contraries that are layered in the simplicity of these lines. At first, to the reader, it may only seem that he is writing about a simple dying rose, however there is more to it. He is also mentioning how this is benefiting the worm that decides to reside in it. The best interpretation that comes to mind, is the loss of virginity. The rose symbolizes a virgin, pure and untampered (a vagina). The invisible worm symbolizes the possibility of penetration (penis). This can be a feminist take on the idea of beauty and destruction. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Block Codes Communication systems consist of transmitter, channel, and receiver. The latter can be affected by a noise source, such as the Additive White Gaussian noise (AWGN) which, in turn, can cause a change in the data transmission. As a result of data change or corruption, the idea of channel coding was introduced as a reliable solution to overcome this dilemma. Nowadays, we use some techniques as Forward error correction (FEC) to reduce the errors that might appear during the information transmission over the channel. In this technique, the system adds redundant (extra) bits to identify if a specific bit is corrupted or not and correct it. FEC Channel codes may be classified into two main categories: the Convolutional Code and the Block Code. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In other words, block coding is a memory less operation as code words are independent from each other. In contrast, the output of a convolutional encoder doesn t only depend on the current input information, but also depends on the previous inputs or outputs; either on a block by block or a bit by bit basis. Each kind of block codes gets a special generation matrix and a decoding matrix. Unfortunately, the main disadvantage of block codes is that we cannot extract the information until the whole code is received. In addition, the entire block has to be retransmitted in case of error. Convolutional encoders: In several applications the message bits are transmitted serially rather than blocks. In such cases, it is not preferred to use a buffer. Thus, the use of convolutional codes may be the optimum method as it generates redundant bits by using modulo 2 convolutions hence the name of the coder. The convolutional encoder can be represented as a finite state machine (FSM) with a given number of shift register stages. For example, if there is a K stage shift registers (usually D flip flops) with a rate of encoder input bits to its output is 1/n and L bits length message, so the coded output sequence will have the length of n (L+K) bits . The most common convolutional encoders have the following parameters: K=2 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During this observation I couldn t help but think I really hope I wasn t this bad back then, but lets face it I probably was. Introduction My group observed adolescents, we were looking for variations in behavior between males and females. We theorized that in public places adolescent males and females would act differently according to the environment they were in. We also predicted that their behavior would be influenced by who they were around, peers or parents. O Koon, J. (1997), did a study looking at adolescents relationships to parents and peers. In his study he found that females had a much stronger attachment to their peers than males, attachment to parents was strong for both. In our observations we saw some similar results. The very definition suggests that the particular qualities of the dead individual deserve recognition. It is against this traditional definition that Kenneth Fearing s poem, Dirge , is working, not only as an overt commentary on the social, cultural, and political factors surrounding the destabilization of 1930 s America but also as an abstraction of the prevalent views of reality: the dehumanization of the human. Environmental, social, biological and psychological theories are all potential variables of why crime happens. Critics may argue that crime is caused by the way someone is raised and one becomes a product of their environment. Others may argue that there is something called the crime gene. Psychological theories recognize the effect of an individual s experience, especially in early childhood, and environmental factors that may trigger criminal behavior, but they propose abnormal personality type/traits or emotional maladjustments as the primary causes of crime Akers et al., (2013). The information that is stored in our memory with the help of our senses will be processed by numerous systems all through our brain, and it will be accumulated for later use (Mason, 2003 2006). Gordon and Berger (2003) said that there are two basic kinds of memory: ordinary and intelligent memory. • 27. Integrated Criteria Decision Making And Multi Criteria... Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Research Report CS6705 Prioritized Multi Criteria Decision Making and Multi Criteria Aggregation By Rizwan Umaid Ali Student # 3494784 Multi Criteria decision making (MCDM) is an area of Artificial Intelligence which provides capabilities to assess complex decision problems. The decisions can depend on our preferences of some criteria over others. In this report, we analyze formulations of MCDM and Multi Criteria Aggregation. To further understand this, we also see how we calculate prioritized measure of Multi Criteria Aggregation and its Shapley index. Introduction For a modern application, reaching satisfaction can depend upon several criteria. Each criteria in it can be satisfied to reach an optimal result, but in real world scenarios satisfying every criteria is impossible and even not required. For example, if a bill needs to be passed by an executive committee, we will need only half of the committee s approval to pass it. This leads us to think that we can reach satisfaction with any set of members of the committee. In fact, there are several cases where certain criteria have a higher priority than others and satisfaction cannot be reached without them. For instance, if the president of the executive committee has to approve the bill and other members just have to favour it, then the president will dominate the other criteria. To logically state this we can say Satisfy criterion A and if possible satisfy criterion B . We ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Is The Second Most Used Electoral System FPTP is the second most used electoral system worldwide, and in the UK it is used primarily in general elections to reach a fully representative, democratic electoral system. In assessing whether we should scrap FPTP, we must first establish what an electoral system ought to provide. The purpose of an electoral system in the UK is to fairly elect representatives for the population to make up an effective government, as we operate with a system of representative democracy. For an ideal democracy to function, an electoral system that delivers a strong constituency link, genuine voter choice, an effective government is fundamental. It is also important for a system to operate simply and with transparency for the population. As Tom Stoppard once wrote, It s not the voting that s democracy; it s the counting. These factors are examined through the lenses of proportional representation and accountability, as supporters of FPTP essentially disagree on whether accountability or proportionality is more necessary in attaining democracy. FPTP is the system which provides the highest level of accountability of those used in the UK, and therefore, it is the least proportional system. A strong constituency link is important in a fully representative, democratic electoral system because it allows the population to be properly represented by their local MP.
