The buildings were dark, small and gloomy on the inside and due to the fact that the majority of the
movie took place in the nighttime hours and it was stormy more than not, the outside was just as
gloomy as the inside. The lighting was minimal as it would have been back then bringing mood with
it. The foreshadowing of the stormy weather worked in making this movie what it was, the rain
seemed to let you know when something was coming. As much as the wilderness scenery was
beautiful, I found it downplayed by the drab colors of the costumes and the non use of color
throughout the entire film. It seemed as though the only time color was used was determined by what
that particular scene was about. For instance, as English Bob came into town the only item of color
was the drab red of the stagecoach, so we knew whoever was in that stagecoach was going to become
an important character to a scene coming up, everything else was a muted earth tone of tan, brown,

Heathcliff is the only character who is considered a hero at all, but only to the audience in a romantic

The wealth and success of a country is something that theoretically is very hard to measure and
quantify. However, tools called Indexes can be used to report on the past, present or future state of
country. The usage for these Indexes is quite obvious: they can be used to benchmark the situation of a
country compared to its peers, create historical trends in order to estimate if any improvements have
been made throughout the years in multiple fields. Of course, they can also be used as political tools
for the world leaders for internal purposes (linked to government policies) but also external policies as
it can be a mean to determine the power that a country can have on the international level. The main
Index that has been used for the past 80 years and is still used nowadays to measure the economic
wealth is the Gross Domestic Product (or GDP). It is important to remember that the initial goal of
these indexes (and particularly the GDP) is to measure and give a detailed report of the addition,

Many technological advancements have been made since the discovery of DNA structure and its
function in 1953 by James Watson and Francis Crick. Recently, scientists have developed a process
called DNA barcoding. The result of DNA barcoding is a database of barcodes of species, made up of
a sequence of nucleotides in specific genes. DNA barcoding is a relatively new process that isolates a
section of a mitochondrial gene and amplifies it, allowing scientists to sequence the order of
nucleotide bases in a certain gene, the organism s barcode. The mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase 1
gene (CO1) is used for animals. It codes for a protein that is a part of the electron transport chain,
which is used by every species during oxidative phosphorylation in cellular respiration. Every

Ethnographic studies can give insight into the way that stereotypes are seen and perceived in the real
world. Audrey Shalinsky defines ethnographic fieldwork as a scientific and artistic approach to the
description and analysis of cultural systems (Shalinsky, 968). I chose to do the ethnographic interview
as I wanted to learn about someone else s experiences and hear a different point of view than my own.
I interviewed one of my Cambodian friends who asked if their name could be omitted for privacy
