a bit clumsily. It takes him lots of time and effort but he eventually makes his way up to hero status .
Hercules travels to Thebe s, a town in need of a hero, to try and gain his true hero status. Hercules
defeats every monster he faces, which all are sent by the very evil Hades. Hades, who kidnapped
Hercules and made him moral, wants Hercules gone because of a prophesy told to him that a hero will
one day defeat him. Hades know Hercules weakness, Meg his lover, and will use her to defeat him.
Hades wants to release the Titans to destroy Zeus, and the only way to do so is to have Hercules out of
the way. Hades uses Meg to have Hercules give up his strength for one whole day. Meg gets hurt
during the 24 hrs and Hercules gets his powers back, as this is one of the constraints of Hercules and
Hades agreement, Meg is sent to the Underworld and Hercules goes after her. Hercules goes to the
River of Styx to get Meg, while doing so the river begins to suck the life out of you, but Hercules
survives and saves Meg. While in the river of Styx, Hercules saves Meg and by doing so Hercules

For this assignment I decided to take a look at the roles of women in Tudor England. The era of Henry
VIII has always been one of my favorite times in history to read and I have enjoyed many books on
his life and those of his wives, the most tragic being that of Ann Boleyn, we have all heard the story of
her life and how she arrested and executed. But what was life like for women during those times?
What rights did women have?
We all seem to think that life now is easier than it was back then with all of the technology we have,
but there are some ways in which life back then was better. In today s world kids have video games to
play and computers to help with homework assignments, in the sixteenth century, kids had chores and
played outside.
If we look back on what life was like for women we can see many things that are different today.
Women didn t have any rights as the laws were made and used by men to limit their women s
freedom. They got married and had children in their early teens, sometimes as young as 12, now
women marry when they want after the age of 18. In the sixteenth century, marriages were arranged
and women didn t meet their prospective husbands until the wedding, and marriage back then was
until parted by death. That was until Anne Boleyn told Henry to form the Church of England so he
could divorce Catherine of Aragon. Another difference was women could not own land even if she

blessed me with. I m thankful for all that he s given me a place where I earn my living, a place that I
can call home and so much more. Every time, I have a problem, I pray to him. I ask him for help and
guidance.

Faulkner s A Rose for Emily , Miss Emily Grierson was a mysterious and very secluded woman.
Jefferson County gave residents the chance to witness the person behind Emily Grierson and her
terrifying household. Once Miss Emily died, her house was opened for the public to investigate. Emily
Grierson had to be the prime specimen for being psychotic. Acquiring carcasses and receiving the
genes from one mentally ill aunt, were just to reasons for her synopsis. Trying to uncover what
underlies Emily Grierson is a mystery waiting to happen. Withholding corpses and denying that the

tone and theme. Miss Emily was not only mentally ill, but was an old lady that needed the help that

preserving deceased bodies and by inheriting her insanity from her own aunt. Instead of assuming her
insanity and questioning about her, people should have actually been worrying for the reason behind
this chaos. Society judged her and gave her labels based on her surprising and disturbing actions.

In Sweat , Delia is absolutely terrified by the idea of snakes. Sykes knows this but that doesn t stop
him from antagonizing her with the thought. He uses a bullwhip to scare her, as it resembles a snake.
