This document outlines different forms of community engagement, including community education which uses formal and informal methods to promote learning, community organization which aims to improve a community's social health and functioning, deliberative dialogue which helps integrate data to inform policy development, direct service which directly impacts individuals, animals or places, economic development which improves a community's economic well-being and quality of life, engaged research which collaborates with communities to investigate issues of public interest, and institutional engagement which introduces adjustments to institutions to increase consistency and efficiency.

interest or concern, including
societal challenges.

8. Institutional Engagement
 engaged acts could alternatively
also belong to a kind of
institutional acts, since they
introduce certain adjustments to
the institution, changing or
modifying its rules, increasing its
consistency and efficiency.
