Advantages And Disadvantages Of An Analog Signal
An analog signal is a continuous signal in which the time varying signal is a representation of some
other time varying quantity i.e. in an audio signal, the instantaneous voltage of the signal varies
with the pressure of the sound waves
Analog signal processing is a type of signal processing conducted on which continuous analog
signals by some analog means
The difference between the analog and digital signal processing is that analog signal has continuous
values unlike the digital which has discrete values. Now a days, signal processing plays an important
role in many of applications. The mostly used physical quantities which represent analog quantities
are current, voltage or charge. These quantities are affected by certain external forces ... Show more

As the signal is transmitted over long distances, the noise become dominant. The effects of noise
create signal loss and variation. It is not possible to recover.
Distortion in Analog Signal Defined to be the change of shape in signal sent from the source to the
destination which is due to the addition of noise in our required signal.
Thermal Noise Noise due to random motion of electrons cause thermal noise. Due to this noise
signal s shape distorted.
Attenuation is loss of energy in the signal as it is transmitted from the one point to other point.
This occurs in case the signal has to be sent over a long distance. To remove this effect we use
amplifiers which amplify the signal. But there is a problem that when we amplify the given signal
the noise also gets amplified.
Digital signal processing is the numerical manipulation of signals, usually with the measure, filter,
produce in continuous analog signals. It is characterized by the use of digital signal to represent
these signals as discrete time and frequency, or other discrete domain signals in the form of a
sequence of numbers to permit the digital processing of these

Beethoven, Ludwig Van ( 1770-1827 )
Beethoven, Ludwig van (1770 1827). He is known for some of the most influential pieces of
music ever written, Ludwig van Beethoven created a bridge between the 18th century classical
period and the new beginnings of Romanticism. His greatest breakthroughs in composition came
in his instrumental work, including his symphonies. Beethoven had a very hard childhood. He
was 1 of 7 children, many of which never lived to adulthood. His family was very poor. His father
was an alcoholic with a very bad temper and was very hard on him, however this did not affect his
love for music. He became the breadwinner of the family at 18 years of age due to his father s
death in 1792, which caused their family to grow deeper into poverty.
Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany, however there is no actual record of his date
of birth. Beethoven got his musical training from his father and grandfather who were also
musicians. Although he had only meager academic schooling, he studied piano, violin, and
French horn, and before he was 12 years old he became a court organist. Christian Gottlob Neefe
was one of his earliest teachers. In 1787 he briefly studied with Mozart and years later left to go to
Vienna to study with Joseph Haydn.
Beethoven s first public appearance in Vienna was on March 29, 1795, as a soloist in one of his
piano concerti. He had developed a great reputation for his music before he left Bonn, Germany.
Once he reached Vienna his music grew wide popularity, and became a

The Little Mermaid Comparison
Hans Christian Anderson s 1975 rendition of The Little Mermaid borrows heavily from the themes
and story of the 1960 s version of the animation with the same name. Traditionally, the
Soyuzmultfilm was a tool for advancing Soviet propaganda. The animation studio was founded
when Russian politics was dominated by communism propaganda. The authorities wanted to send
information to their recognizable enemies, who were fascists, imperialists, and capitalists. In
Anderson s version, Arielis the youngest daughter who grows increasingly upset with life at the
bottom of the sea. Consequently, she decides to be with the humans above the water. She gets into

In the story, the color blue dominates most of the scenes because of the watery setting. The
animator uses blue to represent the underwater world of the mermaid. Evidently, blue represents
and describes a certain element of the world of the mermaid. The producers render a utopian
kingdom complete with a king, princess, and some subjects. However, it is difficult to
understand the reason the little mermaid desires to depart the underwater world seeing how she
lives like royalty. In the same way, it is visible that the producer uses the color red to depict the
sun in The Little Mermaid in 1975. In essence, red represents the world above the water. However,
red appears in some of the possessions of the little mermaid that are under the water. For instance,
the flower garden is painted red; apparently, to represent the hunger that is displayed in the world

Persuasive Essay Comparing Two Planets
In 1905 Pervical Lowell was the fist person to notice Pluto and he started observing Neptune and
Uranus and he observed a similarity from this two planets and Pluto. After almost 25 years Pluto
then was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh and like it was stated in the Pluto files Core Friday,
Pluto was then named after an 11 year old girl who told her grandfather that the new world get its
name from the Roman god of the underworld from there her grandfather passed the name on to
Lowell Observatory. Pluto was once consider the ninth most distant planetfrom the sun, but in
recent years research have found that Pluto after all does not fit most of the characteristics that
other planets do therefor they have reclassified Pluto as one of the largest dwarf planet in the solar
system. In 2006 when Pluto was reclassified controversy began and debates have developed among

The Pros And Cons Of Casino Gaming
When it comes playing casino games from slots to poker, players and casino regulars have one
over riding objective to win the game and the jackpot. Who wouldn t want to win beat other
players and the casino, and fetch massive jackpots along the way? Unfortunately, this is not always
the case for players who take on the challenge of casinogames. In casino gaming, losses are
natural, and there s a big chance that one loses than wins big. Failure to win every single spin or
game online is not an excuse to stop playing casino games, thanks to the random number generators
and the promise of jackpots. But there is one more thing that can motivate playersto play more even

the casino. The casino will still base the allocation based on a percentage, but will only offer up to

Other Rules to Keep in Mind When Using Cashback Refund
Aside from the cap that can be placed by the casino operator, there are other specific rules that
should be considered. For example, some casinos will require players to meet a certain amount of
lost money before they can avail of this bonus program. These casinos will require a minimum
loss for players to qualify for the program. Other casinos will also set a rule that these losses
should be in games identified by the casinos. Before joining or attempting to claim this bonus, it is
advised that players should read first the Terms and Conditions, and ask for technical support, when
necessary.
Claiming the reward is also subject to casino rules, as indicated in the Terms and Conditions.
Depending on the casino operator, players may have to wait for a few days or after 24 hours
before the cash or bonus money can be reflected in the account. If the bonus fails to reach the

Steroids and Sports Don’t Mix Essay
The problems of doping in sports began to surface in the late 1950 s, because of rumors that
coaches were allowing players to use performance enhancing drugs. The 1956 Olympic Games
where plagued with athletes using performance enhancing drugs, so countries began to speak out
against the harm that drugswere causing to the athletes and the sport (6 Anonymous). Long term
use of performance enhancing drugswill destroy athlete s bodies.
Doping is the use of illegal substances that is harmful to athlete s health and is capable of
enhancing performance. Doping also refers to the presence of drugs in the athlete s blood or urine.
So, doping in other words is cheating and can be detrimental to the individual reputation and the

Athlete s train hard for the sport they compete in, but only dedicated athletes honestly prepares to

testosterone. Testosterone is the growth hormone of boy s (54 Nelson). Testosterone has two major
types of action: androgenic and anabolic (8 Oakley). Androgenic affects stimulants the hair growth

tendons are not strengthening with the muscle (55 Nelson). Increased muscle strength and
weakened tissues and tendons cause a body imbalance. This imbalance can be life threatening.
Two percent of 8th, 10th, and 12th graders use anabolic steroids (1 Mathias). Among these junior
high and high school students using steroids are kids who are involved in physical training

Examples Of False Identification
The witness is not visible to those in the lineup. The witness is asked to identify which, if any, of
the individuals committed the crime. A lineup places greater demands on the memory of the
witness than does a viewing of a single suspect, and is believed to reduce the chances of a false
identification. For example, assume a witness saw a man with a beard and a cap run across an alley
near a crimescene. If the policeshow this witness one man who has a beard and a cap, the witness
might make a positive identification. If they instead show the witness several men with a beard and
a cap, the witness must make a more detailed identification and may not identify the same man.

The Summer Before My Junior Year
There seemed to be a pressure for me to enjoy my summer before it was over, being the meager
less than two months that we were allotted. We being myself and a couple of teammates from the
cross team, guys that generally don t leave the house aside from going for a run or over to a
friend s to play a few hours of ping pong. The summer before my junior year was likely the most
impactful two months of my life, both literally and figuratively. Early in the month of June I
was riding shotgun in the car with my mom and three half sisters. The sky was a creamy orange,
punctuated by a late setting sun in front of us as we headed back to Avon that evening. My mom
doesn t like to answer the phone while she s driving, and remembered that she had missed a call
from my grandmother earlier. Her hands on the wheel, she asked me to listen to the voicemail. I
heard my grandmother s tired voice. I got a call today about Ryan... . My throat dried up. If you
could just call back to talk about it sometime tonight or tomorrow.... she trailed off. Ryan was my
dad, whom I had never met due to his unwillingness to play the part. I put the phone down and
relayed the words to her. I could practically see the lump in her throat as we drove to my
grandmother s apartment, where the two of them discussed the information through tears and
choked up voices. He was dying in a hospital bed in Tampa. The message carried less weight to me,
though. After all, this was a complete stranger. But for my

Progressive Reforms
It is difficult to picture a city or town without a park or a playground for everyone to enjoy free of
charge. This thought is not as far fetched, as some might believe. The massive movement for
communities to provide public lands for relaxation, leisure and play has its roots in the Progressive
Reforms around the turn of the twentieth century. The congestion of urban centers and the fading
concept of child labor creates unintended consequences such as an increase in crime, lack of natural
landscapeand no place for children to play. To combat this problem cities across the country begin
the process of implementing government inspired play to replace the open country that children
generations before used as their playground. There is a long... Show more content on

The sand gardens provided large piles of sand for immigrant children to play under the
supervision of a volunteer. Since the majority of these children s parents left them unattended
while they worked in factories. This is the first attempt at supervised organized play. The early
inspiration of organized play comes out of Berlin, the city provided public parks and sand pits
for children to dig and play freely. This idea caught the attention of Dr. Marie Lakrzewska and in
1885 he pens a letter to the chairman of the Hygiene Association suggesting that Boston adopt a
similar program that mirrors itself off of the Berlin system. This idea does not catch on quickly
and it is not until nearly ten years later that city officials begin taking Dr. Lakrzewska seriously in
his suggestion. Between 1894 and 1898, the playground movement gains steam with the
encouragement of social reformers and journalist. A list of cities such as, Philadelphia, New York,
Chicago, Providence, Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and San Francisco establish some form of playground

Rheumatoid Arthritis or RA is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system mistakenly

The Significance Of White Collar Crime, And White Collar...
When we hear the word crime, we automatically assume that it involves criminal or civil crimes.
These crimes usually involve people in robberies, murders, or even injuries. However, there are
also crimes that are committed by a company or a business. Business crimes or white collar crimes
are crimes committed by a businesses or government professional. These crimes are often
committed using confidential information attained by an individual to commit fraud. There are
diverse types of white collar crimes, including tax fraud, telemarketing fraud, and insider trading.
White collar crimewas first introduced by Edwin Sutherland in a presidential address to the
American Sociological Society in 1939. During this address, he discussed the importance of these
crimes and why they should be considered crimes (Shover 133). The reason that these crimes are
often overlooked or not discussed are because of the difference in backgrounds and characteristics
of the parties involved. The Internal Revenue Service(IRS) was established to carry out duties to
the Secretary of Treasury. Under Code Sec 7801, the Secretary of Treasury reserves the right to
establish any agency to help enforce revenue laws (Rettig 59). Thus, the IRS Criminal
Investigation Unit was created on July 1, 1919, for the sole purpose of investigating claims of tax
fraud (The History of IRS Criminal Investigation (CI)). Tax fraud is one type of white collar crime,
which occurs when a company or individual tries to

In 1944 Kia Motors was incorporated as Kyungsung Precision Industry but soon changed their
name to Kia Industrial Company (much easy on the ears). Kia listed its shares in the Korean
Stock Exchange in 1973. In 1990 the company name was changed to Kia Motors Corporation. Due
to finances the company was taken over by Hyundai Motors in 1998. Between ups and downs the
company managed to stay afloat. (SWOT Financial Report. London: Progressive Digital Media,

Big Two Hearted River, Part I, By Ernest Hemingway
Success comes only to those who stand firm throughout the trials and tribulations the world has
to offer, as many people come to realize through the gaining of their personal life experience. In
Big Two Hearted River, Part I , Ernest Hemingway utilizes figurative language such as symbolism,
imagery, and metaphors in order to impart and emphasize the importance of one s determination to
endure the challenges of existence in relation to their overall prosperity. Readers are led to reflect
on how persevering through the negative experiences in one s life can ultimately lead to positive
experiences, as well as the role perseverance plays in the lifelong search for stability. According to
Hemingway, the only method of attaining true... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is unclear whether or not they will stay that way permanently, but Nick has hope that they will
overcome their unfortunate situation; when he wonders how long they will be stained, Nick is
insinuating that there will eventually come a day, be it in weeks or years, that the grasshoppers
will return to their natural state. Hemingway uses this metaphor to parallel our perception of
Nick himself. The trauma Nick has endured throughout his life has impacted him as well as his
identity significantly, but there is hope and the promise of a better future if he is willing to
withstand the burden in the meantime. This sentiment is echoed by Nick when he lets go of the
grasshopper, instructing it to fly away somewhere (212). The message conveyed here is that life
goes on; though the grasshoppers are sullied by their experiences, as they might be for a while,
there is a way for them to be free and thus, there must be a way for Nick to be free as well. The
rewards that follow in the wake of a negative or traumatic event are earned by the mere fact that
an individual was not willing to be swayed from their path or to give up simply on the basis that
it was difficult. Nick himself sums it up rather nicely when he states that he s ...got a right to eat

Booker T. Washington s Influence on Historically Black...
BOOKER T. WASHINGTON: THE AMBIGUITY OF INFLUENCE ABSTRACT My paper will
discuss the continuing influence of Booker T. Washington s writings on historically black colleges.
While my paper will focus on the ways in which the historically black college continues to adhere
to the model provided by Washington, it will also explore the ways in which it diverges from the
early Hampton Tuskegee ideal. According to James D. Anderson in The Education of Blacks in the
South, both contemporary observers and later historians have portrayed the white south as taking a
monolithic view of black education. However, many secondary schools in the south did not
emphasize the kind of industrial education advocated by Washington. In the same manner,... Show

The first freedmen s schools were run by the freedmen and women themselves. Booker T.
Washington s account of his own perseverence in securing his education is poignantly told in Up
From Slavery. Yet with Washington s influence, a shift began from educating students in a liberal
arts tradition to an industrial training mode. Unfortunately, by the turn of the century, with the help
of the benefactor Samuel Chapman Armstrong, the Hampton Tuskegee Idea had come to
represent the ideological antithesis of the educational and social movement begun by ex slaves
(33). In order for freed slaves to fully participate in a democracy, a classical liberal curriculum was
adopted in post Civil War black, elementary, normal and collegiate schools. As James D. Anderson
aptly points out, Black leaders did not view their adoption of the classical liberal curriculum or its
philosophical foundations as mere imitation of white schooling. Indeed, they knew many whites
who had no education at all. Rather, they saw this curriculum as providing access to the best
intellectual traditions of their era and the best means to understanding their own historical
development and sociological uniqueness. (Anderson 29) In fact, black educators like Richard
Wright found support in the classics for racial equality; the study of the classics was a means to

Purgatory Beliefs
Purgatory is defined as a place or state of suffering inhabited by the souls of sinners who are
correcting their sins before going to heaven . When we die, we go through a judgement for our
actions we made when we were on Earth. What many people don t know is that everyone goes to
purgatory is doesn t really matter who you were on Earth as a person. Purgatory is meant to purify
the soul before the soul makes its way into heaven.
Catholics are taught to confess their sins in the Sacrament of Penance and believe that God will
forgive them, but they have to be truly sorrowful for their sins and actions for the sacrament to
really affect you. Catholics aren t taught that purgatory as a place of torment and pain. Catholicism
also teaches that the souls that end up in purgatory want to actually be there in the first place. It s a
place to achieve heaven for the one s that were too late to confess their sins during the time on Earth.

God will forgive anyone if you re one of the worst offenders, law breakers, or sinners in general.
Since we are his children in the sense of religion, God truly knows our guilt when we do commit
these sins. Even a verse in scripture from Romans 3: 23 24 tells us about how the sinners are
even brought to justice by God himself. It states for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (The Bible).
The idea of Mercy helps give us the opportunity to achieve Heaven is giving the idea that once we
die, our souls won t go to hell immediately. Depending on the sin that was committed if there was
sorrow after the action, then it will be taken into consideration by God and he ll hopefully allow the

Bubonic Plague In Medieval Europe
During the mid thirteenth century, medieval Europe was struck by a devastating wave of the
Bubonic Plague, also known as the Black Death. The plague, a disease fatal to nearly all who
came in contact with it, drastically diminished the European population, with a 25% 45% decline
between 1347 and 1351. As the European population suffered, the region was met with immense
social and economic change driven by the plague. Previously strict distinctions of class were
blurred as the economy responded to the sharp decline of readily available workers. The economic
roles held by the peasant class were especially changed, as resources and work opportunities were
more available to them during the plague. While the Black Deathdid destroy much of Europe,...

As the demand for field labor and the demand for higher wages rose with population declines,
peasants were no longer tied to work only for one landlord, giving them more economic
autonomy. As positions working for other landlords opened up as others died, peasants had
more flexibility than before, where it was more difficult to find work with a new landlord. So,
landlords needed to treat and pay their serf workers fairly, as serfs could leave to work for other
landlords if they found it more profitable. This changed manorial power dynamics, as peasants
now held more control in their occupational decisions. For example, in accordance with the
desires of their serfs, many landlords ensured that manorial rent rates did not rise as high as wage
rates did, and some landlords were forced to lease entire estates. This shows that landlords
sacrificed their own wealth to appease workers and retain their service, indicating a shift in
manorial power toward peasant workers. As the power of landlords diminished, peasants could
demand more for their service, challenging the traditional submissiveness of lower class workers in
the system. Government response to the new economic power dynamics further emboldened the
peasant class. Seeking to protect landlords from the

My Queer Identity
Journal VI: This Semester
I am thinking about every semester I have had at Brandeis so far; I feel that in every single one I
earn more life lessons that I can carry with me. This semester, I have gained more empowerment in
learning more about the person I am.
In previous semesters, I have grasped my Latinx identity through Latin American related courses
and through the exploration of its complex and vast history and culture. My immigrant identity
has developed through my own experience, my awareness work in the subject, investigating more
about it in classes, through my work in journalism, and my travels. There are so many different
parts of me that I am constructing one by one. It is as if each brick counts as one particle of my
whole me. This semester, I have been able to strongly grasp my queer identity, feeling more
comfortable in my own skin, by accepting who I am and sharing it with others the people I love and
who are important in my life. For sure my queer identity is the least explored brick out of the
whole construction of myself. And maybe because it is an identity I cannot explore without
other(s). I think that I can certainly speak about how I feel attracted to people of the same sex as
mine. However, I certainly think that if I do not love someone back, how could I be sure of my
queer identity? So I experienced a tidbit of love and a much too soon heartbreak, but it made me
realize that, indeed, I am queer; I am proud.
This semester, I have been able to

How Is Romeo And Juliet Selfish
I do love nothing in the world so much as you.. William Shakespeare. Many mothers feel this way
for their children, they show infinite love for their children and would risk their lives for them.
This is not the case in William Shakespeare s playwright, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Lady
Montague and Lady Capulet do not show supportive lovefor their children, and they never risk
anything for them. Romeo and Juliet, snuck out to express their love for each other because their
mothers were too selfish to let them be together. Although each mother is selfish, weak, and unable
to understand their child, Lady Capulet and Lady Montague ultimately never show strong affection
for their children.

In act three, Lady Capulet does not care if Juliet is happy with her husband, she just wants Juliet
to get married. An example of this is, Marry, my child, early next Thursday morn The gallant
young, and noble gentleman, The County Paris, at Saint Peter s Church. Shall happily make
thee a joyful bride. (3.3.115) When she says it will make Juliet happy to marry Paris she is
wrong because she does not know who is going to make Juliet happy. Additionally, when Juliet
says she does not want to marry Paris Lady Capulet says that she can deal with her father. This is
weak because Lady Capulet does not care to see if Juliet is happy she just wants what is best for
her. Lady Montague is weak because she does not make an effort to talk to Romeo about
anything he is doing at the time. After Romeo has slain Tybalt, Lady Montague does not talk to
Romeo to comfort him or to ask him if he is ok. Also, at the end of the play, after Romeo kills
himself, she does not think she has anything else to live for so she kills herself. This is weak
because she could have tried to prevent this tragedy from happening. All in all, Lady Montague and
Lady Capulet are weak because if they would pay more attention these terrible things will not

A Girl Like Me, By Dr. Kenneth Clark
Racism has always been a hot topic issue in America. Starting, of course, with slavery and

This transcript discusses the Clark Doll Experiment, a study conducted by Dr. Kenneth Clark and

Bullying Vs Cyberbullying
School Officials Vs Cyberbullying Cyberbullying is one of the world s major causes of teen
depression and suicide, stating that 42% kids been bullied while online (Cushing). Although due to
this increase with devices, such as phones and computers, people tend to cyberbully since it s the
easiest way to gain the victim. Cyberbullying is an act of bullyingthrough devices, threatening or
humiliating the victim that is being communicated to. This causes harm to those who fall victim,
around twenty percent of these victims tend to think of suicide, and one of ten often commit the act.
Due to cyberbullying, school officials should help stand for those deteriorating as a victim, this will
then help prevent suicidal acts, suppress depression, and help improve teens to be more cooperative
with others in the same situations. Cyberbullying since then became a national problem. Although
if school officials take part in helping out with teens, this will prevent suicidal acts among the
students. Counseling, just on its own, can help prevent these suicidal thoughts. Due to their careers
counselors tend to know how to handle many situations amongst students including that of
cyberbullying. By doing their jobs, counselors can not only go to the student being bullied, but
engage the students who tend to imply the bullying. This creates programs that ll help the
communities to help one another in these situations. With programs being constructed this will
benefit the way society will

How Communication Is Influenced By Varieties Of...
Our communication is influenced by varieties of circumstances and people. However, the most
important thing which affects our communication is our backpack, which means the environment
that we raised in. we carry this backpack every time when we communicate with others, so in this
essay I am going to demonstrate my interpersonal communicationbehavior. First of all, I am going
to demonstrate what about my communication is unique to my specific circumstances. The way of
communication is different when I was talking with Americans and Japanese. Whenever I talk with
Americanpeople, I try to be more open mind. Since I came here in NDSU, I have a lot of
opportunities to communicate with Americans. I realized that Americans are so friendly, so I made
effort to adapt American culture. Instead of that, when I communicate with Japanese people, I will
be more shy. In my experiences, Japanese people tend to do not like the too friendly people at
the first time. Thus, I pay attention to not so be friendly for Japanese during the ice breaker. As
a result, when I communicate with Japanese, I will be like a coconuts. It means that the first
time is unfriendly like the shell of coconuts but the inside is very sweet and flexible. Instead,
when I communicate with American, I am like a peach. The surface of peach is very soft but it has
a hard core, so as a similar as peach, I can be more friendly but it is hard to show people how do I
feel and think honestly. Moreover, when I am

allow for online shopping only in store. However, the company tracks their inventory and daily sales
using Triversity software with their own satellite link up; space net (Dalcom Consulting, 2008).
This allows for them to track their sales and inventory better, which can greatly reduce theft, which
in the long run helps to keep prices low.
Analyze company s customer relationship programs The location of the Dollar General Stores
is especially good news for smaller communities who have recently been affected by the high
prices of gasoline and the rising cost of living in general. Most people who shop at their local
Dollar General Store like the convenience of shopping at a smaller store, accessibility of name
brand products, and the value of those same products they may pay more for by going to a
bigger retail store. The trip to the Dollar General Store is usually for a few items, and because of
their location, it is usually a very short trip saving gasoline and time. Keeping with smaller store

Essay on The Purpose of a Public School Education
As an educator, living in a country where public schools are not as praised, or in the eye of the
public, are not as strong as they are in other countries, I constantly ponder about the question: what
is the purpose of public school education? Lots do not contemplate about the purpose of public
schools, forgetting that this question is probably at the base of all schooling.
As I started to dig deeper into this topic and really think about the purpose of public school
education, I took to my fellow colleagues to ask them what they think it is. The results of our
discussions and conversations were astounding, and I realized that many teachers never really took
the time to think about this. Their definitions about education in itself, as ... Show more content on

Unfortunately, many believe that what it means to educate is to train students in the main subjects,
such as Math, Science, English, and History.
However, I believe that our society is much more complicated than what is covered in these
subjects. I also believe that it is not only ineffective to force students to learn, but it is also
unjust. Most people believe that the need for a strong public school system is for social justice.
They believe that the system molds citizens into democratic citizens. Indeed, all that was
mentioned are wonderful goals, but the reality of the public school system does not reflect this
ideal school system . Once we delve into the depths of most public school systems we do not find
a system that promotes democracy. Instead we find an organization that is outdated, constructed on
social hierarchies, that disregards everything we know about effective organizations and cognitive
development. We find an institution that disempowers people, forcing them to do things against
their will; all while stressing that it is for their own good. If a modern day democratic society is a
society in which people are collectively in control of their lives and of their community, then our
modern day public school system is indeed anti democratic. (Loder, 2006)

Philip Hamilton And Alexander Hamilton s Mental Health
Alexander Hamilton was one of America s foremost founding fathers. Hamilton s work in the army,
in the writing of and ratification of the constitution, his creation of the bank, and his successful
political career all made an important impact on early american society, most of which can still be
seen today. Although Hamilton accomplished so much in his short life, his last few years were
filled with horrible sufferings that would greatly affect his mental health. This degradation of
Hamilton s mental health would lead historians to advertise his symptoms from traumatic
experiences, suicidal tendencies, and appearances of manic depression. In order to fully understand
what was happening to Hamilton s mental health in the last couple of years of Hamilton s life, one
must first understand Philip Hamilton and his deadly duel with George Eacker, Alexander Hamilton
and Aaron Burr s duel, the symptoms of trauma, suicidal tendencies, and bipolar affective disorder.
Philip Hamilton was Alexander and Eliza Hamilton s firstborn son. Philip was their eldest son,
and he was Alexander Hamilton s pride and joy. Smart, handsome, and on an impressive path,
Philip Hamilton was a rising star by the time he had graduated from college. After hearing about
George Eacker s Fourth of July oration, in which Eacker criticises Hamilton s financial system,
and the treasury department in general, Philip Hamilton grew unsettled and decided to confront
George Eacker. Chernow describes the meeting between Philip Hamilton and George Eacker as
contentious between both parties and shares of the constant threats of violence. Eventually, the
two parted ways, only to result in an immediate challenge of a duel by Philip Hamilton and
Richard Price. The argument between the two was harsh enough that Eacker and Price had a
separate duel, albeit resulting in nothing, before Hamilton and Eacker had a duel. Eacker and
Hamilton both refused to apologize, and a duel between the two was scheduled as soon as possible
in New Jersey.
Asking for much needed advice from his father, Philip Hamilton received the advice to wait until
Eacker fired, and then raise his gun and shoot up into the air. Throwing away one s shot, Alexander
Hamilton argued, was a measure

Paintings In Medieval China
Paintings in medieval China included landscape painting, delicacy painting, spontaneous painting,
figures and illustration along with calligraphy. The landscape paintings are wordless poems that are
meant to be read from bottom to top, often representing the harmony between heaven and earth, yin
and yang. These paintings often have a high point of view and are full of ambiguity and indirect
meaning. Landscape paintingalso features mountains in the middle and background and water
dominates the foreground and unites all grounds. If figures are included, they are small and
insignificant which is reflective of the Taoist/Buddhist idea that we are all part of nature,
inseparable from it, and not more important than any element of nature. Often the painting includes

Chinese painting tradition. These paintings were a scholarly and religious activity, an act of
meditation meant to help a scholar work through a religious or philosophical idea. These
paintings may also feature ink paintings with calligraphic lines; simple scenes presented in an
abstract style such as flowers, birds, trees or bamboo. The figures and illustration paintings had
subjects outlined in ink and filled with color, they had very little in the way of background and
were very flat. Often these were portraits of important people or illustrations of religious or secular

contact details, medical issues, working hours, hourly rate and exemption reasons (such as sick

Analysis Of The Film Whale Riders
In the Film Whale Riders, the director Niki Caro, does an excellent job in developing critical
themes combining spiritual and religious traditions resonating with the audience. The compelling
themes demonstrated in the movie such as leadership, change of role in women, connection to
nature, traditions and change are all eloquently presented as the plot unfolds. As a young woman
myself, I can feel empathy towards the main protagonist, Pai, as she puts maximum effort in
convincing her grandfather Koro, that she can be the families next whale rider.
As the movie begins, the tone of Pai s monologue where she describes how her family awaits the
birth of the first born boy who would become chief, moderately sets the the mood for the rest of
the film. Pai, states that there was no gladness was she was born; this is because both her mother
and brother [ who was suppose to be the next leader] died. The theme of leadership is presented as
Koro searches for a new Maori leader. As Pai s dad, Porourangi, denies leadership due to the death
of his wife, Koro searches for leadership elsewhere; overlooking Pai s ability to do so because of
her sex. Pai displays leadership in wanting to aid her community in being the next whale rider by
attempting to attend her grandfather schooling and learning Mau raku (stick fighting) from her
uncle whom she privately learns from.
As Pai s conquest to become leader progress, she unravels the theme of role changing. An
interesting factor that I noticed

Character Analysis of Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice Essay
Character Analysis: Mr. Darcy Introduced to Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice as a tall,
handsome, self absorbed aristocrat, Darcy experiences a change in personality and character. In
order to dispose of his existent views on money and marriage, Darcy needed to feel something, to
fall in love. Although he was well mannered, he did not know how to treat women with respect,
especially those of a lesser economic status. The love of Elizabeth Bennet, however, changed his
behavior. The reader is first acquainted with Mr. Darcy s arrogance at the Meryton Ball. Speaking
of Elizabeth Bennet, he so snobbishly says that she was, В…tolerable, but not handsome enough to

These words spoken in such admiration of Elizabeth display the vastness of his change to
something that seemed so important to him from the first introduction of his character. Although
Darcy s words revealed a large metamorphism in his disposition, his actions are more evident and
show his true ability to change. At Mr. Darcy s introduction to the novel he is immediately
described as В…haughty, reserved, and fastidious, and his manners, though well bred, were not
inviting (Austen 12). Austen introduces Darcy with all of his pretentious nature. Following the
Meryton ball, Austen continues to display that unattractive nature of Darcy by comparing him to
Bingley. Darcy, on the contrary, had seen a collection of people in whom there was little beauty
and no fashion, for none of whom he had felt the smallest interest, and from none received either
attention or pleasure (Austen 12). This statement reinforces the idea that Mr. Darcy is only
concerned with talented women of great importance. It is Elizabeth, however, who wins his
heart with her liveliness and witty remarks. Falling in love with Miss Bennet caused Darcy to
soften his actions and sweeten his personality. One example is the letter he wrote to Elizabeth to
explain his reasoning for his separating Elizabeth s older sister, Jane, and Mr. Bingley. Never,
before Lizzy, would Darcy admit to his mistakes or apologize to someone, especially someone who
he felt was

Persuasive Speech On Good Customer Service
Finally, the clock says 8:55. Only five more minutes until your eight hour shift, which honestly
felt more like twelve, is over. The store looks perfect and all of the housekeeping chores are
taken care of. As you are walking to lock the front door, a large family comes rushing in asking if
the store is closed. With a fake smile plastered on your face, you tell them the store closes in less
than five minutes, so they promise to be quick. Now their kids are running around and the parents
are ripping apart the T shirts you just folded. Being polite and helpful in these situations is hard,
and all you want to do is tell them to get out. Customerserviceis important, but it can sometimes be
a challenge. Still, there are a few key steps to giving goodcustomer service that can ensure that the
customers will have a positive experience while shopping with the company. The customers
should always be greeted when they first walk through the door. Do not yell hello before they
even have two feet in the door and do not whisper hello in an inaudible tone. Instead, warmly
welcome them to your store and ask how they are. Follow up by asking if they need help finding
anything or if they are shopping for anyone special. Nine out of ten people will say no. It s best
to leave the customers that don t ask for help or those who blatantly ignored you alone because
people don t like to be pestered when they are trying to shop. However, you should ask the
people that do say yes questions to find out what they like or to learn more about who they are
shopping for, so you can help them find something that will make them happy. Always be
enthusiastic when helping customers so they do not feel like they are a bother. If what the
customer is looking for isn t in stock show them alternative options or suggest stores that may
carry what they need. After helping the customer to the best of your ability, walk away so he or
she can continue shopping on his or her own. Greeting customers is the first step to give good
customer service, but it certainly isn t the last. I work in a retail store and almost all of the other
associates are also seventeen year old girls. We all get along and are friends outside of work. This

great plan. Staying true to that schedule and planning it all out is a great control mechanism to
use as a YouTuber. This could entail setting reminders every once in awhile to make sure you

As it becomes more and more common, Hollywood and the media will continue to entertain
people with this concept because every year we see a new series of Fast and Furious movies.
Teenagers and young adults also need to realize the dangers associated with this sport. In my
opinion, we should educate our children about the responsibilities that come with the driver s
license. If the young adults make a bad choice, it not only affects them but also their parents
community as a whole. The mortality rate of those killed by automotive accidents needs to
drop. The only possible way of achieving such a goal is by educating the drivers. Street racing is
not a new thing. It has been going on since cars were invented and it is not limited to any
demographic. A lot of people argue that street racing is fun because they enjoy the thrill of
speed. If the authorities are going to legalize street racing in the future, then they may want to
look into working with a private venue to provide a suitable location for the competitions. Also,
the authorities need to make sure that if an individual is interested in street racing, then he or
she will use proper safety equipment prior to racing. These special equipments will help save his or
her life in case of an accident. By having races at local drag strips will also help to save many
precious lives because every day we hear the news about someone who s died because of a street
racer. If one does not see these safety measurements acceptable, then there is no need to be racing.

The Impact Of Arabic Numerals In Medieval Europe
Impact of Arabic Numerals on Medieval Europe Medieval European society was changed by the
introduction of the Arabic numerals into their society. The Islamic Golden Age introduced lots of
innovative thought into the world, and eventually those ideas made their way into Europe, one of
which was the Arabic numerals. They revolutionized the way that daily tasks, like merchant
bookkeeping, and academia were approached. Medieval Europe was transformed by the Islamic

Preceding the Islamic Golden Age, Indian culture had a revolution of thought which was seen in the
Islamic Empire. One thing from Indian culture that transcended into Islamic culture was the
concept of zero. This was something that was not considered in earlier mathematic studies. It read
in Math Roots: Zero: A Special Case, the Arabs recognized the value of the Hindu system, adapted
the numerals and computation, and spread the ideas in their travels. The Arabic people saw the
power in this numbering system because there was a place holder number. This concept was
accepted into Islamic thought; however, it was not received well in Europe. For the greater part of
the European society, it was a strange system, in comparison to the Roman numeral system, and
was not widely accepted. At the beginning of Arabic numeral introduction into European society,

Legalizing Horse Slaughter
People are curious. Its our human nature. Have you ever been curious about the meat you eat?
Where it comes from, how it was killed, and is it safe to eat? In America we eat beef, pork, and
poultry for the average everyday consumption. What about other countries, or other parts of the
world? What do they eat? Your beloved pet, your furry companion, your best friend. Maybe your
horse, perhaps. What is this horse slaughterthat people are speaking of? Should it be legal? Yes. It
should be legal with limits. It is most likely that anyone you ask about horse slaughter will have
an opinion. Some strongly believe it is cruel, and inhumane, some believe it is for a good cause, or
helping the world. Others just don t know their facts, or don t care either way. Horse slaughter is
the practice of killing and butchering horses for human consumption or animal foods manufacturing
( Jeras, 1).
A question often thought about is whether or not horse slaughter is humane. If you ask many
people, they will say no. Why isn t it humane?
Here is a couple of things to know. Usually the conditions are unsanitary, and infected with disease.
The horses could have injuries from minor to major from the ride to the slaughter house, or from
entering the slaughter house. The horses could even have had injuries or health issues before
loading into the trailer to begin with. It is definitely questionable as to whether anyone checks up

Book Review Of Rodman Philbrick s Freak The Mighty
Freak the Mighty Essay
In the novel, Freak the Mighty, author Rodman PhilBrick wrote about a boy(Max) who had a
learning disability, hated school, and was a social outcast to the rest of the world. Later in the
novel Max met Kevin, a boy who had a physical disability. The two boys instantly became friends
and as their friendship grew, they grew both mentally and physically. Both Kevin, who was
nicknamed Freak , and Max gained a good friend when they met each other. By gaining a good
friend, they changed people s lives. One way the author showed how a good friend can change
one s life is by showing how different Max acted after he became friends with Freak. Another way
Rodman Philbrick showed that in the novel, is by telling how Freak the Mighty, a nickname that
Freak came up with for him and Max, changed how other people looked and acted towards both
Max and Freak when they were together. This was shown a final time when Max and Freak the
Mighty changed Freaks life. If one has a good friend by his side, then together the two friends can
change lives.
One way the author showed how Freak the Mighty changed people s lives in more than one way
is by telling how different Max acted when he was around Freak. An example of this happened
when Max began to like reading and going to school. Max state s, And now that I ve written a book

An Concept Of A Learning Disability
Firstly, it is interesting the concept of a learning disability individuals think of immediately which
is a dysfunction of the human brain not quite working correctly. Learning disabilities unfortunately
come in all shapes and sizes; they do not end with human beings but can extend into an organization
as well. Organizational learningdisabilities are flaws such as lack of communication or a bridge in
the gap which some type of operational system is not quite working properly. In addition, the
thought of a Fortune 500company having a learning disability is hard to grasp because of the
success that they measure at. To be more specific Walmart is known to be the large corporation
the world. According to the Fortune 500 organization, Walmart was ranked number one for the
largest and highest net worth out of all corporations. But even the largest and the most successful
companies have its flaws. After all, how do organizations learn if mistakes do not occur? It is
obvious when walking into a Walmart store, regardless of the location, there seems to be a few
concerning issues that involve both the employees and the customers. Walmart leadership seem be
lacking communication as they choose not to hear the screaming cries of their very own
employees. Because of Walmart s efforts to save money by paying low salaries and under staffing
their super stores it has led to poor employee satisfaction, not to mention the unfavorable ratings are
trickling down to its customers. This paper

Who Is Polonius True In Hamlet
There are a few characters in Hamlet that are true to themselves. Polonius was one of those
characters that was true to himself, he was a very nosie person. Another character was Claudius
who was the same as Polonius in that he was true to himself, but he was different in that he was a
liar. Horatio was another character that was true to himself and that he was loyal. Being true to
yourself does not prevent you from being false with others.
Polonius was true in being very noisy until the very end of his life. Polonius was so noisy that he

The Five Types Of Blood Vercules In The Human Body
So we already know that the blood vessels are the vessels that transport the blood to and from the
heart and to the tissues throughout our body. Let us now quickly review the basic structure of the
vessels that the human body contains. The five main types of blood vessels are the arteries,
arterioles, capillaries, venules and veins. We have already learned that the arteries carry bloodaway
from the heartto the tissues via systemic circulation. Well these large arteries eventually divide
into smaller medium sized arteries, which then divide further into even smaller arteries called
arterioles (Tortora, G.J., Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). These arterioles then enter the tissue
that they are supplying and again, they branch into a web of even more tiny vessels known as
capillaries (refer to figure 1.5). The thin walls of the capillaries allow the exchange of
substances such as oxygen and carbon dioxide between the blood and body tissues (Tortora,
G.J., Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). So from here, many capillaries co mingle or converge , for
lack of a better term, and form into more vessels known as venules. Venules are essentially
smaller veins, which in turn, gradually form the larger vessels known as the veins (Tortora, G.J.,
Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). From here the veins carry the deoxygenated blood back to the heart
to be re oxygenated via the pulmonary circulation. The deoxygenated blood is essentially the bi
product from the exchange of oxygen, nutrients and carbon dioxide at the capillaries for which our
tissues have used. The basic structure of the blood vessels are, again, multilayered structures made
of three separate layers of tissues. Starting from the inner layer out, they are the: tunica interna,
tunica media, and tunica externa. The structure of the vessels differ slightly between the arteries
and veins which will described shortly.
The tunica interna is the innermost and thinnest layer of the blood vessel, which contains a few
layers within it. However, the tunica interna does not greatly contribute to the thickness of the
blood vessel. It is also the layer that is in direct contact with the blood as it flows through the
vessel (Tortora, G.J., Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). The

Coconut Oil s Effect On The GI Tracts
Coconut oil s Effect on the GI Tracts of Dogs
Coconut oil has been used in human nutrition and medicine for centuries. Each of the benefits
which can be applied to humans also hold true for most animals as well. In the discussion to
follow, the benefits of coconut oil on the GI tract, focusing on weight control, will be discussed.
The findings for this article opened a larger realization of the many benefits coconut water hold as
well. Coconut oil happens to be a medium chain triglyceride which is composed of saturated fatty
acids. Medium chain triglycerides have been found to contain many benefits which trump over the
long chain triglycerides which are more commonly consumed.
Medium chain triglycerides are occasionally found to be overall healthier than its longer relative
due to the most basic attribute: length. The shorter the chain the easier it is absorbed in the GI

Since coconut oil happens to be a medium chain triglyceride, it will not be stored in the body as fat
which triggers the bodies thermogenesis response, burning fat. A canine which may be falling in
to a 4 6 BCS may benefit mildly from this addition or substitution for dietary fat/oil. Medium chain
triglycerides have also been found to suppress mammalian appetite. This can also aid in weight
control decreasing the caloric intake of the animal (Ward Dean, 16).
While another aid in lowering weight in a dog may be tackling the bad bacteria in a canine s GI

Snow Country
In the novel Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata the theme of wasted effort is displayed
throughout the novel many times, to label a person s actions such as Komako. Shimamura, the
main character, implies the theme various times when people such as Komako will complete tasks
that have no meaning behind them and he would consider them as being a waste of time and effort.
Even though Shimamura believes that some of Komako s tasks have no purpose behind them,
ironically their relationship grows stronger each time Komako completes a task that is labeled as
wasted effort. The first time the theme wasted effort was mentioned in the novelwas when Komako
is having a conversation with Shimamura about her diary. While Komako and Shimamura talk...

Shimamura found out about these rumors because he was gossiping with the masseuse about
Komako. These rumors made him feel like Komako was just selling herself short just to get
money, which was portrayed to the reader when the narrator expresses Shimamura s thoughts
after being told this complicated rumor: [...] the expression wasted effort again came into
Shimamura s mind. For Komako thus to guard her promise to the end, for her even to sell
herself to pay doctors bills what was it if not wasted effort? (Kawabata 61). This example of
Shimamura s thoughts portrays to the reader that he has feelings for Komako and that he does
not think that she should spend her time doing things that is not worth her while just for money,
especially if the man is dying. It s portrayed to the reader that Shimamura cares about Komako
when the narrator explains an action that Shimamura will pursue in the future: He would accost
her with this fact, he would drive it home, when he saw her again, he said to himself; and yet her
existence seemed to have become purer and cleaner for this new bit of knowledge (Kawabata 61
62). This illustrates to the reader that Shimamura would rather go to Komako about the rumor to
see if it is really true, rather than believing what other people say and spread the rumor even
more. This action is portrayed when Shimamura asks Komako about the rumor and she asks him
did he believe it, and he said: I couldn t quite believe all of it (Kawabata 67). This shows Komako
that she can have some trust in Shimamura because he came to her first, and got the real truth. This
part in the book also portrays how Komako and Shimamura grew in their relationship, because they
now have trust between them which is an important key in a

Examples Of Hegemonic Masculinity
Writing Assignment 5
In gender studies, hegemonic masculinity is the norms and values upheld as an ideal for all
males. The concept of hegemonic masculinity was proposed first from a field study in Australian
high schools of social inequality by Kessler. (Kessler et al. 1982) The concept was later made
popular by sociologist R.W. Connell. All men are upheld to the image of being the strongest and
most aggressive, and to hold the power over women and other men. What do males have that lead
them to commit more crime? That question has been noted for years, but no one can pinpoint the
exact answer. Some sociologist denote masculinity to the answer of the previous question. From a
young age, men are perfectly characterized as someone who ... Show more content on

In 2012, H M used soccer star David Beckham is perhaps one of the most vivid ads still today.
Beckham, a tattooed, athletic and muscular man, embodies hegemonic masculinity to a sporting
audience. Because Beckham is a globally recognized, the commercial does not need to add his
athletic ability, financial statues, and wife to gain audience viewers. By being married,
Beckham is observed to be a real man. Placing someone like Beckham in a Super Bowl
commercial, unlike an ordinary man, bring a whole new meaning to today s society. An eye
opening example of movies that display hegemonic masculinity are Disney movies. Considering
the male roles in The Lion King, Beauty in the Beast, and the Little Mermaid, the male roles have
always come to the rescue to save the princess. Disney s artist create these male roles to be larger
than the other characters and displaying more muscle. Most of these characters, and many I didn t

Examples Of Montag s Dual Nature In Fahrenheit 451
The Dual Nature
Who is a hero? Who is a villain? Based on the Oxford Living Dictionary, a hero is a person who is
admired for his or her actions, while a villain is a criminal, therefore his or her actions are not
admired. Ray Bradbury, in his novel Fahrenheit 451, created a protagonist, Guy Montag, who is
both a hero and a villain. Bradbury illustrates Montag s dual nature through his actions in the book.
He also illustrates Montag s heroic nature through his relationship with Faber and his villain nature
through his relationship with Beatty.
In the novel, Bradbury illustrates Montag dual nature through his actions. He shows the two sides
of Montag s, how his actions are both considered moral and evil. In the beginning of the novel,

Music 125
December 11th, 2014
The Life of Michael Jackson We live in a world where music definitely plays a huge role even in
our day to day lives. It is important to understand that our music today, has been tremendously
impacted by artists from decades before. Some of the best artists in the history of music such as:
Elvis Presley and the Beatles have been among the most recognized contributors to music since.
Michael Jackson is another icon in the music industry; he is in my opinion, the best artist/singer
of all times. Not only was he able to captivate his audience with his music, but he was also an
amazing performer. In the next few paragraphs, I d like to vaguely speak of his life and career
and you give you an idea as to why I feel this way about him. On August 29th, 1958, Michael
Joseph Jackson was born in Gary Indiana. At a very early age, him along with his siblings
formed a musical group; their father was the main reason for this happening. When the group was
first formed, they were known as the Jackson Family and included Jackie, Jermaine, and Tito.
Michael became the lead singer of the group at just five years old. At that point in time, his career
was destined to be successful. Once their brother Marlon joined the group shortly after, they
became the well known, Motown group, The Jackson 5. While being part of the Jackson 5, their
career was strongly impacted by their father, Joseph. At times, he was known to have

more rounded jaws resulting in mosaic of both feminine and masculine features . They determined
that just by listening to voices they could distinguish between homosexual and hetrosexual targets

Secularism In Australia Essay
The increase in pluralism and materialism within the world, alongside the societies pursuit of
individualism and dissatisfaction with traditional religions gave rise to the formation of secularism.
(Woodhead, 2016) Secularism involves two theorems. The first being the strict separation of the
church and state and the second is the equality before the law provided to all different religions and
beliefs (National Secular Society, 2016). This trend is most evident through the significant increase
in numbers of the Australian population in the no religioncategory from 0.3% in 1947 to 0.8% in
1966 and to 16.6% by 1996. By 2006, it had risen to 18.7% and by 2011 it increased to 22.30%.

Ecumenical movements were formed as an institutional response in order to enhance this pursuit of
peace and understanding, and as a mutual Christian reaction to modernity. This is due to the
different reactions within each sect towards secularism for example, Conservative Roman
Catholicism and Orthodoxy were the most resistant, liberalism were the most co operative,
Evangelicalism and Charismatic Christianity both opposed some aspects of modernity whilst
accommodated others. (Woodhead, 2016) Therefore, ecumenism was a result in settling the
uprising issues. For instance, the Uniting Church of Australia was established on the 22nd of June
1977, where congregations of the Methodist church of Australasia, the Presbyterian church of
Australia and the congregational union of Australia came together under the basis of union.

It is important for a company to choose a relevant internationalization strategy in order to attain

Advantages And Disadvantages Of An Analog Signal An analog signal is a continuous signal in which the time varying signal is a representation of some other time varying quantity i.e. in an audio signal, the instantaneous voltage of the signal varies with the pressure of the sound waves Analog signal processing is a type of signal processing conducted on which continuous analog signals by some analog means The difference between the analog and digital signal processing is that analog signal has continuous values unlike the digital which has discrete values. Now a days, signal processing plays an important role in many of applications. The mostly used physical quantities which represent analog quantities are current, voltage or charge. These quantities are affected by certain external forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the signal is transmitted over long distances, the noise become dominant. The effects of noise create signal loss and variation. It is not possible to recover. Distortion in Analog Signal Defined to be the change of shape in signal sent from the source to the destination which is due to the addition of noise in our required signal. Thermal Noise Noise due to random motion of electrons cause thermal noise. Due to this noise signal s shape distorted. Attenuation is loss of energy in the signal as it is transmitted from the one point to other point. This occurs in case the signal has to be sent over a long distance. To remove this effect we use amplifiers which amplify the signal. But there is a problem that when we amplify the given signal the noise also gets amplified. Digital signal processing is the numerical manipulation of signals, usually with the measure, filter, produce in continuous analog signals. It is characterized by the use of digital signal to represent these signals as discrete time and frequency, or other discrete domain signals in the form of a sequence of numbers to permit the digital processing of these ... • 3. Beethoven, Ludwig Van ( 1770-1827 ) Beethoven, Ludwig van (1770 1827). He is known for some of the most influential pieces of music ever written, Ludwig van Beethoven created a bridge between the 18th century classical period and the new beginnings of Romanticism. His greatest breakthroughs in composition came in his instrumental work, including his symphonies. Beethoven had a very hard childhood. He was 1 of 7 children, many of which never lived to adulthood. His family was very poor. His father was an alcoholic with a very bad temper and was very hard on him, however this did not affect his love for music. He became the breadwinner of the family at 18 years of age due to his father s death in 1792, which caused their family to grow deeper into poverty. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany, however there is no actual record of his date of birth. Beethoven got his musical training from his father and grandfather who were also musicians. Although he had only meager academic schooling, he studied piano, violin, and French horn, and before he was 12 years old he became a court organist. Christian Gottlob Neefe was one of his earliest teachers. In 1787 he briefly studied with Mozart and years later left to go to Vienna to study with Joseph Haydn. Beethoven s first public appearance in Vienna was on March 29, 1795, as a soloist in one of his piano concerti. He had developed a great reputation for his music before he left Bonn, Germany. Once he reached Vienna his music grew wide popularity, and became a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Little Mermaid Comparison Hans Christian Anderson s 1975 rendition of The Little Mermaid borrows heavily from the themes and story of the 1960 s version of the animation with the same name. Traditionally, the Soyuzmultfilm was a tool for advancing Soviet propaganda. The animation studio was founded when Russian politics was dominated by communism propaganda. The authorities wanted to send information to their recognizable enemies, who were fascists, imperialists, and capitalists. In the story, the color blue dominates most of the scenes because of the watery setting. The animator uses blue to represent the underwater world of the mermaid. Evidently, blue represents and describes a certain element of the world of the mermaid. The producers render a utopian kingdom complete with a king, princess, and some subjects. However, it is difficult to understand the reason the little mermaid desires to depart the underwater world seeing how she lives like royalty. In the same way, it is visible that the producer uses the color red to depict the sun in The Little Mermaid in 1975. In essence, red represents the world above the water. However, red appears in some of the possessions of the little mermaid that are under the water. • 9. The Summer Before My Junior Year There seemed to be a pressure for me to enjoy my summer before it was over, being the meager less than two months that we were allotted. We being myself and a couple of teammates from the cross team, guys that generally don t leave the house aside from going for a run or over to a friend s to play a few hours of ping pong. The summer before my junior year was likely the most impactful two months of my life, both literally and figuratively. Early in the month of June I was riding shotgun in the car with my mom and three half sisters. The sky was a creamy orange, punctuated by a late setting sun in front of us as we headed back to Avon that evening. My mom doesn t like to answer the phone while she s driving, and remembered that she had missed a call from my grandmother earlier. Her hands on the wheel, she asked me to listen to the voicemail. I heard my grandmother s tired voice. I got a call today about Ryan... . My throat dried up. If you could just call back to talk about it sometime tonight or tomorrow.... she trailed off. Ryan was my dad, whom I had never met due to his unwillingness to play the part. I put the phone down and relayed the words to her. I could practically see the lump in her throat as we drove to my grandmother s apartment, where the two of them discussed the information through tears and choked up voices. He was dying in a hospital bed in Tampa. The message carried less weight to me, though. After all, this was a complete stranger. But for my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The massive movement for communities to provide public lands for relaxation, leisure and play has its roots in the Progressive Reforms around the turn of the twentieth century. The congestion of urban centers and the fading concept of child labor creates unintended consequences such as an increase in crime, lack of natural landscapeand no place for children to play. To combat this problem cities across the country begin the process of implementing government inspired play to replace the open country that children generations before used as their playground. This idea caught the attention of Dr. Marie Lakrzewska and in 1885 he pens a letter to the chairman of the Hygiene Association suggesting that Boston adopt a similar program that mirrors itself off of the Berlin system. This idea does not catch on quickly and it is not until nearly ten years later that city officials begin taking Dr. Lakrzewska seriously in his suggestion. • 12. The Significance Of White Collar Crime, And White Collar... When we hear the word crime, we automatically assume that it involves criminal or civil crimes. These crimes usually involve people in robberies, murders, or even injuries. However, there are also crimes that are committed by a company or a business. Business crimes or white collar crimes are crimes committed by a businesses or government professional. These crimes are often committed using confidential information attained by an individual to commit fraud. There are diverse types of white collar crimes, including tax fraud, telemarketing fraud, and insider trading. White collar crimewas first introduced by Edwin Sutherland in a presidential address to the American Sociological Society in 1939. During this address, he discussed the importance of these crimes and why they should be considered crimes (Shover 133). The reason that these crimes are often overlooked or not discussed are because of the difference in backgrounds and characteristics of the parties involved. They manufacture and sell a broad line of automobiles such as commercial, passenger and recreational vehicles. They also contributed in the technology making of eco friendly cars such as the hybrid electric vehicles. In South Korea, Kia has six research and development centers and three operational hubs. Their vehicles sell in many places such as: America, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. (SWOT Financial Report. London: Progressive Digital Media, 2014. ProQuest) History: In 1944 Kia Motors was incorporated as Kyungsung Precision Industry but soon changed their name to Kia Industrial Company (much easy on the ears). Kia listed its shares in the Korean Stock Exchange in 1973. In 1990 the company name was changed to Kia Motors Corporation. Due to finances the company was taken over by Hyundai Motors in 1998. Between ups and downs the company managed to stay afloat. (SWOT Financial Report. London: Progressive Digital Media, 2014. Big Two Hearted River, Part I, By Ernest Hemingway Success comes only to those who stand firm throughout the trials and tribulations the world has to offer, as many people come to realize through the gaining of their personal life experience. In Big Two Hearted River, Part I , Ernest Hemingway utilizes figurative language such as symbolism, imagery, and metaphors in order to impart and emphasize the importance of one s determination to endure the challenges of existence in relation to their overall prosperity. Readers are led to reflect on how persevering through the negative experiences in one s life can ultimately lead to positive experiences, as well as the role perseverance plays in the lifelong search for stability. Hemingway uses this metaphor to parallel our perception of Nick himself. The trauma Nick has endured throughout his life has impacted him as well as his identity significantly, but there is hope and the promise of a better future if he is willing to withstand the burden in the meantime. This sentiment is echoed by Nick when he lets go of the grasshopper, instructing it to fly away somewhere (212). The message conveyed here is that life goes on; though the grasshoppers are sullied by their experiences, as they might be for a while, there is a way for them to be free and thus, there must be a way for Nick to be free as well. The rewards that follow in the wake of a negative or traumatic event are earned by the mere fact that an individual was not willing to be swayed from their path or to give up simply on the basis that it was difficult. Washington s writings on historically black colleges. While my paper will focus on the ways in which the historically black college continues to adhere to the model provided by Washington, it will also explore the ways in which it diverges from the early Hampton Tuskegee ideal. According to James D. Anderson in The Education of Blacks in the South, both contemporary observers and later historians have portrayed the white south as taking a monolithic view of black education. However, many secondary schools in the south did not emphasize the kind of industrial education advocated by Washington. In the same manner,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first freedmen s schools were run by the freedmen and women themselves. Booker T. Washington s account of his own perseverence in securing his education is poignantly told in Up From Slavery. Yet with Washington s influence, a shift began from educating students in a liberal arts tradition to an industrial training mode. Unfortunately, by the turn of the century, with the help of the benefactor Samuel Chapman Armstrong, the Hampton Tuskegee Idea had come to represent the ideological antithesis of the educational and social movement begun by ex slaves (33). In order for freed slaves to fully participate in a democracy, a classical liberal curriculum was adopted in post Civil War black, elementary, normal and collegiate schools. As James D. Anderson aptly points out, Black leaders did not view their adoption of the classical liberal curriculum or its philosophical foundations as mere imitation of white schooling. Indeed, they knew many whites who had no education at all. Rather, they saw this curriculum as providing access to the best intellectual traditions of their era and the best means to understanding their own historical development and sociological uniqueness. The plague, a disease fatal to nearly all who came in contact with it, drastically diminished the European population, with a 25% 45% decline between 1347 and 1351. As the European population suffered, the region was met with immense social and economic change driven by the plague. Previously strict distinctions of class were blurred as the economy responded to the sharp decline of readily available workers. The economic roles held by the peasant class were especially changed, as resources and work opportunities were more available to them during the plague. As the demand for field labor and the demand for higher wages rose with population declines, peasants were no longer tied to work only for one landlord, giving them more economic autonomy. As positions working for other landlords opened up as others died, peasants had more flexibility than before, where it was more difficult to find work with a new landlord. So, landlords needed to treat and pay their serf workers fairly, as serfs could leave to work for other landlords if they found it more profitable. This changed manorial power dynamics, as peasants now held more control in their occupational decisions. For example, in accordance with the desires of their serfs, many landlords ensured that manorial rent rates did not rise as high as wage rates did, and some landlords were forced to lease entire estates. This shows that landlords sacrificed their own wealth to appease workers and retain their service, indicating a shift in manorial power toward peasant workers. As the power of landlords diminished, peasants could demand more for their service, challenging the traditional submissiveness of lower class workers in the system. My Queer Identity Journal VI: This Semester I am thinking about every semester I have had at Brandeis so far; I feel that in every single one I earn more life lessons that I can carry with me. This semester, I have gained more empowerment in learning more about the person I am. In previous semesters, I have grasped my Latinx identity through Latin American related courses and through the exploration of its complex and vast history and culture. My immigrant identity has developed through my own experience, my awareness work in the subject, investigating more about it in classes, through my work in journalism, and my travels. There are so many different parts of me that I am constructing one by one. It is as if each brick counts as one particle of my whole me. This semester, I have been able to strongly grasp my queer identity, feeling more comfortable in my own skin, by accepting who I am and sharing it with others the people I love and who are important in my life. For sure my queer identity is the least explored brick out of the whole construction of myself. And maybe because it is an identity I cannot explore without other(s). I think that I can certainly speak about how I feel attracted to people of the same sex as mine. However, I certainly think that if I do not love someone back, how could I be sure of my queer identity? So I experienced a tidbit of love and a much too soon heartbreak, but it made me realize that, indeed, I am queer; I am proud. This semester, I have been able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Indeed, all that was mentioned are wonderful goals, but the reality of the public school system does not reflect this ideal school system . Once we delve into the depths of most public school systems we do not find a system that promotes democracy. Hamilton s work in the army, in the writing of and ratification of the constitution, his creation of the bank, and his successful political career all made an important impact on early american society, most of which can still be seen today. Although Hamilton accomplished so much in his short life, his last few years were filled with horrible sufferings that would greatly affect his mental health. This degradation of Hamilton s mental health would lead historians to advertise his symptoms from traumatic experiences, suicidal tendencies, and appearances of manic depression. In order to fully understand what was happening to Hamilton s mental health in the last couple of years of Hamilton s life, one must first understand Philip Hamilton and his deadly duel with George Eacker, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr s duel, the symptoms of trauma, suicidal tendencies, and bipolar affective disorder. Philip Hamilton was Alexander and Eliza Hamilton s firstborn son. Philip was their eldest son, and he was Alexander Hamilton s pride and joy. Smart, handsome, and on an impressive path, Philip Hamilton was a rising star by the time he had graduated from college. After hearing about George Eacker s Fourth of July oration, in which Eacker criticises Hamilton s financial system, and the treasury department in general, Philip Hamilton grew unsettled and decided to confront George Eacker. Chernow describes the meeting between Philip Hamilton and George Eacker as contentious between both parties and shares of the constant threats of violence. Eventually, the two parted ways, only to result in an immediate challenge of a duel by Philip Hamilton and Richard Price. The argument between the two was harsh enough that Eacker and Price had a separate duel, albeit resulting in nothing, before Hamilton and Eacker had a duel. Eacker and Hamilton both refused to apologize, and a duel between the two was scheduled as soon as possible in New Jersey. The compelling themes demonstrated in the movie such as leadership, change of role in women, connection to nature, traditions and change are all eloquently presented as the plot unfolds. As a young woman myself, I can feel empathy towards the main protagonist, Pai, as she puts maximum effort in convincing her grandfather Koro, that she can be the families next whale rider. As the movie begins, the tone of Pai s monologue where she describes how her family awaits the birth of the first born boy who would become chief, moderately sets the the mood for the rest of the film. Pai, states that there was no gladness was she was born; this is because both her mother and brother [ who was suppose to be the next leader] died. The theme of leadership is presented as Koro searches for a new Maori leader. As Pai s dad, Porourangi, denies leadership due to the death of his wife, Koro searches for leadership elsewhere; overlooking Pai s ability to do so because of her sex. Pai displays leadership in wanting to aid her community in being the next whale rider by attempting to attend her grandfather schooling and learning Mau raku (stick fighting) from her uncle whom she privately learns from. Austen introduces Darcy with all of his pretentious nature. Following the Meryton ball, Austen continues to display that unattractive nature of Darcy by comparing him to Bingley. Darcy, on the contrary, had seen a collection of people in whom there was little beauty and no fashion, for none of whom he had felt the smallest interest, and from none received either attention or pleasure (Austen 12). This statement reinforces the idea that Mr. Darcy is only concerned with talented women of great importance. It is Elizabeth, however, who wins his heart with her liveliness and witty remarks. Falling in love with Miss Bennet caused Darcy to soften his actions and sweeten his personality. One example is the letter he wrote to Elizabeth to explain his reasoning for his separating Elizabeth s older sister, Jane, and Mr. Bingley. Never, before Lizzy, would Darcy admit to his mistakes or apologize to someone, especially someone who he felt was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Persuasive Speech On Good Customer Service Finally, the clock says 8:55. Only five more minutes until your eight hour shift, which honestly felt more like twelve, is over. The store looks perfect and all of the housekeeping chores are taken care of. As you are walking to lock the front door, a large family comes rushing in asking if the store is closed. With a fake smile plastered on your face, you tell them the store closes in less than five minutes, so they promise to be quick. Now their kids are running around and the parents are ripping apart the T shirts you just folded. Being polite and helpful in these situations is hard, and all you want to do is tell them to get out. Customerserviceis important, but it can sometimes be a challenge. Still, there are a few key steps to giving goodcustomer service that can ensure that the customers will have a positive experience while shopping with the company. The customers should always be greeted when they first walk through the door. Do not yell hello before they even have two feet in the door and do not whisper hello in an inaudible tone. Instead, warmly welcome them to your store and ask how they are. Follow up by asking if they need help finding anything or if they are shopping for anyone special. Nine out of ten people will say no. It s best to leave the customers that don t ask for help or those who blatantly ignored you alone because people don t like to be pestered when they are trying to shop. However, you should ask the people that do say yes questions to find out what they like or to learn more about who they are shopping for, so you can help them find something that will make them happy. Always be enthusiastic when helping customers so they do not feel like they are a bother. If what the customer is looking for isn t in stock show them alternative options or suggest stores that may carry what they need. After helping the customer to the best of your ability, walk away so he or she can continue shopping on his or her own. Greeting customers is the first step to give good customer service, but it certainly isn t the last. I work in a retail store and almost all of the other associates are also seventeen year old girls. As it becomes more and more common, Hollywood and the media will continue to entertain people with this concept because every year we see a new series of Fast and Furious movies. Teenagers and young adults also need to realize the dangers associated with this sport. In my opinion, we should educate our children about the responsibilities that come with the driver s license. If the young adults make a bad choice, it not only affects them but also their parents community as a whole. The mortality rate of those killed by automotive accidents needs to drop. The only possible way of achieving such a goal is by educating the drivers. Street racing is not a new thing. It has been going on since cars were invented and it is not limited to any demographic. A lot of people argue that street racing is fun because they enjoy the thrill of speed. If the authorities are going to legalize street racing in the future, then they may want to look into working with a private venue to provide a suitable location for the competitions. Also, the authorities need to make sure that if an individual is interested in street racing, then he or she will use proper safety equipment prior to racing. These special equipments will help save his or her life in case of an accident. By having races at local drag strips will also help to save many precious lives because every day we hear the news about someone who s died because of a street racer. • 43. The Five Types Of Blood Vercules In The Human Body So we already know that the blood vessels are the vessels that transport the blood to and from the heart and to the tissues throughout our body. Let us now quickly review the basic structure of the vessels that the human body contains. The five main types of blood vessels are the arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules and veins. We have already learned that the arteries carry bloodaway from the heartto the tissues via systemic circulation. Well these large arteries eventually divide into smaller medium sized arteries, which then divide further into even smaller arteries called arterioles (Tortora, G.J., Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). These arterioles then enter the tissue that they are supplying and again, they branch into a web of even more tiny vessels known as capillaries (refer to figure 1.5). The thin walls of the capillaries allow the exchange of substances such as oxygen and carbon dioxide between the blood and body tissues (Tortora, G.J., Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). So from here, many capillaries co mingle or converge , for lack of a better term, and form into more vessels known as venules. Venules are essentially smaller veins, which in turn, gradually form the larger vessels known as the veins (Tortora, G.J., Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). From here the veins carry the deoxygenated blood back to the heart to be re oxygenated via the pulmonary circulation. The deoxygenated blood is essentially the bi product from the exchange of oxygen, nutrients and carbon dioxide at the capillaries for which our tissues have used. The basic structure of the blood vessels are, again, multilayered structures made of three separate layers of tissues. Starting from the inner layer out, they are the: tunica interna, tunica media, and tunica externa. The structure of the vessels differ slightly between the arteries and veins which will described shortly. The tunica interna is the innermost and thinnest layer of the blood vessel, which contains a few layers within it. However, the tunica interna does not greatly contribute to the thickness of the blood vessel. It is also the layer that is in direct contact with the blood as it flows through the vessel (Tortora, G.J., Derrickson, B., 2017, p. 738). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
