1.2MULTIMEDIA DATA MINING CLASSIFICATIONS:
The multimedia data mining classified in two categories (a) Static Media and (b)
Dynamic media. Static media which contains text, graphics and images and Dynamic

2. BACKGROUND OF MULTIMEDIA DATA MINING
Since 1960s the research in the field of multimedia has initiated for combining
different multimedia data into one application when text and images were combined
in a document. During the research and development process of video
synchronization of audio and animation was completed using a timeline to specify
when they should be played. The difficulties of multimedia data capture, storage,
transmission, and presentation have been explored in the middle of 1990s where the

with a man, named Uncle Jean, in the hospital staring out of the window. Godard s
use of a middle lense, a straight on camera angle along with high key lighting all
made the visuals seem somewhat muted. The colors are all soft or subdued with no
other prominent lighting effects in this first shot. Yet while the visuals does not
necessarily capture my attention, Godard s use of soundand framing certainly does.
Godard uses framing and sound in conjunction to switch between offscreen and
onscreen diegetic sounds. Starting with the beginning of the first shot, the
incredibly loud knock on the door (offscreen diegetic) and Uncle Jean yelling,
Where am I? (onscreen diegetic) as he moves from the right of the frame to the
center. The image size of the first scene is a medium long shot as I noticed that
only the knees and up are shown. I then hear two offscreen diegetic sounds of a
woman laughing with her high heels walking towards the frame. As the woman
finally walks into the frame and identifies herself as Carmen she bends down and
kisses the man. Carmen then kisses (onscreen diegetic) Uncle Jean, the sound of the
kiss is also noticeably loud.
Carmen begins to walk out of frame and when she is out of frame, the non diegetic
score kicks in and then fades away for a brief moment to let Carmen and Uncle Jean
talk. All of this happens as Uncle Jean stays in the middle of the frame.
