Kay Murphy sent out 40 questionnaires to people with different music tastes to help identify how to create a rock magazine that appeals to various audiences. The results showed that most people preferred an informal magazine language style to match the rock genre. They also preferred bold, bright colors like red, yellow, and blue used throughout the magazine, with black and white providing contrast. Common magazine features like band reviews and free posters were popular to promote other bands and gain more fans.

results helped a lot as now I can identify and
create my magazine with the help from
other people other than my own thoughts.

3. The Results
The results I were given back were that 70% decided they wanted the
magazine and language to be all informal and chaotic linking to the music
genre I’ve chosen which I know my target audience will like but also, attracts
any audience.
The bold and bright colours were something that was a popular choice and
the colours all added up to Red, Yellow and Blues. But I find by adding Black
and White will contrast from the colourfulness that’ll be shown throughout
already.
The typical extras in the magazine were adding band reviews and free posters
etc. to popularise other bands and form more fans.
The images I will use are medium close ups of the band and individual
members, this is because they are the centre of this magazine and need to be
positioned clearly in the middle.
