2. Class
I will be targeting working class because this
represents most of the UK therefore my
audience is wide and easier to target. In
addition to this, I will try to follow stereotype
that lower class people like rap and try to
target them too. By targeting middle and
lower class people, it will be easier to appeal
to my audience as there are a large amount
of them. I fit into working class so I know
what it appealing to me and I can use this
knowledge to appeal to my audience in my
media product.

3. Age
I will target an people aged 16 to 21 because studies show that these are the years in which
people enjoy music the most. I will target teenagers because I am enforcing the stereotype
that teenagers listen to rap. It will be easy to attract teenagers because I am one therefore I
know what is appealing to me and how I can use this in my magazine. I don’t want to attract
a too younger audience and a too older audience which is why my target audience is not
specific but ranged. If I had to target a specific aged audience, I would concentrate on the age
of 17 due to the fact that research shows that this is the age that most people listen to rap
therefore it is better to target a group with a lot of people than targeting a group with not
much people.

4. Ethnicity
I did not target a specific audience and this is because rap is not ethnic concentrated now
because all ethnic groups like to listen to it. However it is stereotypes that black people listen
to it more than others. My magazine models are of a range of ethnic groups. For example, on
my front cover I have someone from that is an Asian and on my double page spread I have a
white mixed race model.

5. Lifestyle
My target audience would overall live a relaxed lifestyle because rap is about relaxation and
‘chilling out’; teenagers like to do this which is why they are my primary audience for my
product. My target audience like to listen to rap a lot in comparison to other audiences such
as adults. This means that they like to keep up with the genre and my magazine will aid them
in this.
