This proposal outlines a student's project to produce a short fantasy film. The film will tell the story of a man who uses a mystical plant to travel back in time after being falsely accused of a crime. The student will direct and film the project, as well as compose the soundtrack. They plan to use camera techniques like shot types and angles to convey meaning and mood. The proposal includes a timeline with pre-production, production, and post-production tasks over 17 weeks, as well as plans to evaluate and present the completed project.

Centre Name and Number:
York College 48357
Student Name and Unique Learner Number: Harry Allinson 365716
Project proposal title and date: Rabbit Hole Justice
Main area of activity: Garden/House for filming.
Rationale:
I will produce a short fantasy film using my music. Previously, I have researched production techniques
to see which ones would best fit my music. My aim is to explore further and maximise the effect of
synergised camera shots with my music to convey the mood and narrative.
My audio production skills greatened through the years as I learnt to harvest the tool such as distortion,
high pass, reverb and compression within Garageband and Adobe Premier Pro. To Compliment a better
audio experience alongside my film products and to formulate a further eerie atmospheric on my
podcasts for a more emotionally emphasised entertainment for my audience.
Sounds that create a positive or negative tone for the situation are needed. Balancing out sound
engineering and visuals within bodies of my work is essential to narrative, like building any solid
structure, otherwise it will fall apart. Developing a more mindful approach to work is needed so
correlation exists between sensory elements within production.
Project Concept:
The concept of my project is a short fantasy film. A man is on the run after he has been set up and
needs to get to a safe place before he is arrested. However, what he doesn’t know is that there is a
mystical plant that transports him into a different dimension. This new dimension then allows him to
travel back in time so he can get rid of the false evidence against him.
The central character needs to get rid of the man who murders his friend, so he will need to act fast and
tactically avenge him. Success, using the mystical plant, will allow him to save his friend.
I want to show the narrative contrast between the good and evil characters through a well thought out
juxtaposition of music and visuals. For example, if I want to convey a sense of dominance, I could use
a low angle mid shot or if I want to create a visual feeling of insecurity, I can use a crane/high angle shot
to make me look smaller. With considered camera settings, I will have to make all the camera shots
relate to the correlative meaning of that scene mood.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will need to critically evaluate my project with the understanding of the limited resources I had due to
the governmental lockdowns.
Throughout, I will evaluate on a PowerPoint template. Critical analysis and ordered self-questioning will
help me to not miss out any information. These helps bounce my ideas to form an evaluation of the
different elements used.
Noting key researched influences and the trials and errors of my planning, I will be as raw as possible
so that I can have more to say in the journal and so that I can display the hardships and what worked.
With this and the general evaluation, I will be continuously screenshotting any researched products and
the stages of my own postproduction for the journal and later evaluation.
This is a pivotal moment of reflection and so I can move forward with my career by learning from what I
had done. Personally, I’m hoping to learn from the production techniques before moving forward from
this exhibition to university.
