The video provides a concise tutorial on making a DIY plastic bottle bird feeder. It begins with a labeled display of all required materials and uses various camera angles and fast cuts between clips to clearly show each step of the process. While the tutorial is simple and quick, it does not provide details on optimal seed types for different birds or address potential issues like weather resistance or predation.
2. Birdfeed Video Camera Shot Analysis
The majority of the shots within this tutorial video are that of close-up, eye level shots of bird feeds, birds and
bird food, which is useful because the video displays a more focused and fuller picture of the results used by
he’s methods of bird feeding and at a more professional standard of recording via the pleasing visual settings
used for this video. Evidently, we can see that the camera man has used the right aperture, ISO and focus
hence the frames within the video have a deep depth of field and acquire a clean, limited or non-existent
amount of noise grain and a sufficient amount of focus which really amplifies and encapsulates the focal point
of the video to a high quality, which shown via the example, are the Robin (Bird) and the bird feeds.
Most of the shots displayed within this video are still shots, shot with the aid of a tripod to prop-up the camera
to the appropriate height with the extendible legs for the right framing of the birds and for the pure stillness so
that there is no shakiness which makes the footage look more satisfying for the viewers watching experience.
The only shots that are inclusive of movement are that of shots of the bird feeds (Close-ups) and birds via
slight tilts and camera pans. The reason why the number of movement shots is so small is because since the
point of the video is to attract small garden birds, it would be hard to navigate a well-executed shot of a small
bird flying for a good amount time without getting the bird out of frame and central within the frame with the
camera the producers of this video used, not to mention the potential motion blur even if a well-framed video
recording is performed and produced.
3. Birdfeed Tutorial Analysis
Generally, each steps of the tutorial are strung out in a really well-run sequence because he explains why and
how he does certain processes within the tutorial in a really clear and informative style like when explains
why he uses certain bird feeder cages to disable squirrels from getting the bird food because those cages are
more intricate in design, which pander more to the enabling of birds then squirrels, which the tutorial
displays perfectly with the narration and the videography.
Intelligently, the tutorial lays out in a visually and audibly clear fashion which seeds certain species of birds
can and cannot eat due to the correlation of differences in the shape and size of bills because some birds like,
for example, the infamous Robin, can’t eat a seed husk but can eat the insides if the outer husk is removed
from the seed thus meaning that the audience can further understand and develop an idea of which bird
feed would be preferable to a certain species, which allows the audience to do their own research as to what
birds nest within their own garden environments so that they can decide what seeds will attract and be best
for feeding the optimum of amount the right species for there own garden.
As well as educating the audience on what seeds are good and bad for specific birds, the tutorial also
presents the audience with what all birds will eat, no matter the species, which is useful for many people
who use this tutorial because some people might live in areas with multiple species of birds and don’t feel
the need to pander to a certain group of birds because their environmental influence on garden birds.
Another element to this tutorial that makes it an even more factually helpful is that it includes side
information of things that are indirectly relevant for the tutorial that could be a cause for concern for the
birds health and safety, like the explanation of why buying certain types of peanuts is bad for birds, placing
feeder away from bushes/housing to ensure cats can’t attack birds and the importance of removing the
seeds that have fallen to the ground from the feed so that there is no risk of birds eating food on the floor
with damaging bacteria on it, which makes this tutorial more certified as a legitimate and reliable, hence the
audiences see’s a sense of care towards the birds coming from the producers which makes the audience trust
the processes more then if these digitally emotional connectedness to the audience weren’t included within
this tutorial because a lot of the audience who watches this video care about birds hence they want to learn
how to feed them in their own garden.

DIY Plastic bottle bird feeder tutorial
This tutorial has a consistent display throughout its play. There are fast cuts between each clip with bold text telling
the audience what to do whilst there is various levels of up-close camera recordings of the production of the bird
feeder being created which is good because then the audience can see how is happening with vivid imagery. What
was useful was that there was a static up-close image of all the materials needed for the tutorial that were labled. I
thought that this was a helpful way of starting a tutorial because then startight away the audience knows what is
needed to create a homemade bird feeder before the tutorial steps properly begin without watching it and realising
they don’t have all the elements needed it.
The camera angles and movement were simplistic for this tutorial. All of them were still shots that were
prodominently high angle shots for the creation of the bird feeder, level angled shots and one low angled shot of the
guy putting up the bird feeder which was a good touch to the short video because the context of the shot of that
kind whilst shooting the final step of the tutorial felt emphasised. The extent of camera shots' production value made
sense because it isn't neccersary for a bird feeder tutorial to producted to an extent of a high budget film because in
general it isn't neccersary unless there is a caviart. Also the common garden aethetic should reflect the what gardens
make people feel and what the visual aspects producers inflict onto people to navigate what the best production
style would be best fitting for a bird feed tutorial because then it will be best for the audience, which is displayed
where because they didn’t make it too compliacted.
Someonewhat of a negative to this video is that it runs very fast with a bastic of idea of what to do but if someone is
looking for a more advanced tutorial that investigates seed and feeder varients then this won't be helpful for that.
This is because the tutorial just tells the audience to fill the feeder with seeds, not specifying which seed type is best
for certain birds as well as potential negatives to this homemade feeder like weather impacts and pet cats which can
scare away the birds.
