Project proposal title and date:
Insights: Episode 2 Market Weighton
Main area of activity:
I will be creating an audio project
Rationale:
Throughout the year and through all the different projects I have created I have gathered plenty of
new and useful skills as I am now used to writing an evaluation and proposals as I have created
them for each project and so I will use these skills to ensure that all the writing pieces (alike this
one) that can reach the achievements I need, some useful skills I have learnt in the editing
processes is my cutting of audio is more refined and I am more careful cutting off pieces off sound
that are fading out as it doesn’t sound clean when sound cuts suddenly. My last audio project was
interesting as I was not used to using adobe premiere and so it wasn’t a great product but now
with the skills I have gained since then I now know how to fade sounds in and out and will not
make stupid mistakes and hopefully create a much better product.
Project Concept:
The concept for my idea has changed due to my idea changing mid-way through the project and
so I am now creating a documentary about Market Weighton in general as It would be a much
easier documentary to create as I will not have to spend my time writing up a script as I can rely
more on my interviews and the other people. The idea for my new project is a documentary that
allows people from small rural areas, that usually get no coverage and no one listening to their
problems, to have a voice and allow people from these places to share their experiences and what
they believe are serious problem as this will make for some entertaining interviews a sit will create
a slightly comical effect as some people from these rural areas may believe that bus times are the
biggest problem and it will create a comical irony feel. My documentary is created as a series and
as Market Weighton isn’t the entire documentary as it is one of many episodes as this will create a
more believable effect for the consumers.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will evaluate my work strictly as I will question why I decided to create a story other than a regular
documentary and how clean the editing will be but I will also be fair and discuss what is good
about my project as I will need to help highlight the positives as well as being self-critical, I can
also have peer assessment as my fellow students can listen to my audio and assess what they
think would appeal to them as it will give me an another opinion but from a similar age group with
similar tastes etc. can also have my tutors assessment of my work as they are more specialist in
this subject and will be able to help me understand where I go wrong in the editing processes etc.
