Project proposal title and date:
Landscape driven music video
Main area of activity:
Reference your medium you will mostly work in; Graphic design, Film, Photography,
Interactive/Video Game etc.
Filming
Rationale: 150 words approx.
Review your progress throughout the 2 years- what products have you made and what skills and
knowledge have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your previous, similar production and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Over the past 2 years I have developed numerous skills in various different areas, including using
text and print to an effective level in which I can choose a specific style and font, keep it consistent,
match the subject of what I am doing’s vibes. I have created various film projects, however I
haven't fully explored the concept, in this project I hope to have filming days in which I will go out
and have a plan of what I want to film and also to film anything I see when I'm out that will look like
a good addition to my video. I want to explore my video skills however and develop a good sense
for what filters to use to achieve the look I want and have shown in my research. I would also like
to develop my audio skills because the project may require me to produce my own music for it.
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
My concept for my project is to create a series of stills and slow moving forward shots of the
Yorkshire countryside and possibly Norwegian Mountain ranges and urban areas. I want to lean
more towards power stations, wind farms, and other colossal buildings that contrast with the
tranquil background and setting. This will be accompanied by a piece of either my own composing
of a slow and droning soundtrack, or a piece of classical music like Pier Gynt or Frederic Chopin
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project?
I have and will be researching music videos that follow the same visuals I aiming to create and
using them as inspiration for how I could make my own. I will be reviewing books that contemplate
on the existence of music videos and their purpose so I can challenge the fact of what I will be
making to make it seem right and suitable for the image and sound to match.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 150 words approx.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
