5. Mood Board
This mood board is helpful due to the context of how all the image link into Market Weighton which is what the
documentary will be based on as I will interview different “odd” people within the town as this will help build the
storyline of the presenters journey as it is a fake documentary created to show a man of medias journey by
interviewing people from a smaller town as it will involve a short storyline of a interviewer creating a documentary on
weird people in rural areas and so this is why people like the Jeremy Kyle guest and strange addictions images ae used
as they are classed as very “odd” and the documentary will be created to be entertaining and give the presenter an
insight in different people and to help him understand why people are interested in trainspotting or why a 30 year old
man still trains 3 times a week to play Sunday league.
6. Mood Board Analysis
How does your mood board inspire your project?
It inspires my project as it helps me have an insight in how I can combine what I wanted to create at first which
is a fake documentary but without the documentary being boring and believable so I decided to create it on
different individuals in a small town so the documentary itself will be interesting to listen into but also this
project will allow me to create the sounds of a man waking up and driving down to a town to create an
entertaining story as so then it can also tell a story and the listeners can leave the project having learnt a lesson
on such problems as bullying as he documentary may contest will consist of a link into verbal abuse done by
the narrator in the beginning and some of the “odd” people will discuss their experiences with such topics.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
It will influence my final product as it will help me understand what I will need to be researching into like
different people around my area and create questions to ask these individuals that will provide me with this
information that can help change the presenters attitude e.g. At the start he will casually verbally abuse people
then after the interviews he will consider what has been said and realise the power of his words which will help
send out a message which at the end he will discuss.
7. Key Influences-JR Podcast
• Joe Rogan's podcast has an influence on how I will create this project as I understand that when he meets
every new guest whether they are flat earthers or completely “odd” with stupid theories he will
understand and treat everybody equal which is what I will need when interviewing “odd” people as he will
hear all their quirky theories about quirky topics as he continuously grows throughout his time on the
podcast taking each interview and learning from that experience which is exactly what this character will
do throughout the documentary.
• The podcast is the influence and not the actual host as much as the podcast has every different “odd”
characters who appear as it gives a chance for the listeners to hear from some ”odd” people who are so
strange you'll never meet anyone like them and it gives these people a chance to place the opinions out
there as I will use the idea to allow different people to have their opinion as to why some people enjoy
spotting different trains and why middle-aged men train and play football every Sunday and as to why
some people enjoy going to watch poor quality football every Sunday morning although they wont be as
weird as the people on JRs podcast and the “odd” people who will be invited onto my project will be
relatable to a rather large audience as they may have a family member who was interested in trainspotting
and this documentary will help them understand as why them people enjoy it.
8. Key Influences-A Christmas Carol
• The story of A Christmas Carol is an influence on my project as the story of scrooge is a pivotal point in my
project as the story of my character will follow a similar story line through the project as he will begin alike
scrooge as the presenter will have certain negative views in people like train spotter etc and then he will
eventually meet a train spotter and other "odd" people throughout the "documentary" as this will change
is preferences on different individuals as when he leaves to go home after the day he may help an old train
spotter across a road etc as this is very similar to the story of Scrooge as he starts of in the book as a
spiteful individual and is awful to everyone then after the events of the book nearer the ned he changes
dramatically and becomes almost a saint. My story will not be as dramatic as A Christmas Carol as the
changes to scrooge are too dramatic and are unbelievable as my story will be a much more
believable change as it can happen to most people everyday as it also gives the projects a purpose as does
A Christmas Carol.
• The reason the story of A Christmas Carol is an influence as well is that its purpose is to tell multiple
stories at once and it has an insight into the living states that country was going through as well as the
story that scrooge is apart of (people can and should change) as my project will tell multiple stories at
once like the stories of how some (different) people are treated by society nowadays and how the youth
perceive these types of people.
9. Key Influences-Gavin Fitzgerald
• Gavin Fitzgerald was the director for the Conor McGregor documentary, this is an influence as that was
one of the first documentaries I had seen which had me very interested in the behind the scenes of him as
Conor McGregor is notorious for being eccentric and the documentary allowed viewers to see if he was
really the same behind the scenes as he is an "odd" individual due to his persona in the UFC
• The reason the director is an influence is due to how he aligned the story of the documentary as it shows
more a less the struggle the fighter had with injuries and the training camp he was involved in for 3
different fights as it gave an insight for the audience about how hard the life of a UFC fighter really is and it
was created in such a way which allowed Conor McGregor to justify himself and the audience see that his
UFC persona is just a character to sell tickets etc and that he is just a regular Irish bloke with a lot of money
due to his skills inside the cage. The documentary will affect my project as it created in a way which only
involves the most interesting parts of his lifestyle and his daily life which will tie in with my project as my
'documentary" will give a serious insight into these different individuals around a small town like train
spotters lifestyles etc as it wont be as energetic as the Conor McGregor's documentary it will definitley
involve a lot of humour and intriguing parts to it.
