Basics Fundamentals and working Principle of Centrifugal Pump.SHASHI BHUSHAN
Basics Fundamentals and working Principle of Centrifugal Pump. Centrifugal pumps are the rotodynamic machines that convert mechanical energy of shaft into kinetic and pressure energy of Fluid which may be used to raise the level of fluid. A centrifugal pump is named so, because the energy added by the impeller to the fluid is largely due to centrifugal effects.

A hydraulic ram, or hydram, is a cyclic water pump powered by hydropower. It takes in water at one "hydraulic head" (pressure) and flow rate, and outputs water at a higher hydraulic head and lower flow rate. The device uses the water hammer effect to develop pressure that allows a portion of the input water that powers the pump to be lifted to a point higher than where the water originally started. The hydraulic ram is sometimes used in remote areas, where there is both a source of low-head hydropower and a need for pumping water to a destination higher in elevation than the source. In this situation, the ram is often useful, since it requires no outside source of power other than the kinetic energy of flowing water.

All About Centrifugal Pumps: Simple ExplanationFlowmore Pumps
Centrifugal pumps are capable of moving an extensive variability of fluids. It happens under a wide range of conditions. They continue to function for an extended period of time. It can happen due to their resilience.
The Difference Between End-Suction Pump and Split Case PumpFlowmore Pumps
The end suction pump is a solitary suction pump, the split case pump is a double suction pump, and the end-suction pump and the split case pump are comparable.
A Helpful Guide to Understanding Vertical Turbine PumpsFlowmore Pumps
The vertical turbine pump is one of the most solid, effective, and adaptable pumps available whenever applied and installed appropriately. So for what reason are such countless specialists and designers hesitant to apply this kind of hardware?
Using Downhole Jet pump with DST ApplicationsTaha Metwally
In this Article we can use downhole jet pumps during drill stem testing (DST) for production. Downhole jet pump used in reverse flow circulation. the best way for solids and abrasives handling. More economic way in testing phase either long term production and field profitability.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

4. Introduction of pump
Pump is a machine or mechanic equipment which is required to lift
liquid from low level to high level or to flow liquid from low
pressure area to high pressure area

8. Submersible Pump(ESP)
In 1928 Russian engineer and inventor
Armais Arutunoff successfully installed
the first submersible oil pump.
In the mid 1960s the first fully submersible
deep well water was installed.

9. Submersible Pump(ESP) cont.…….
A submersible pump or electric submersible pump (ESP) is a
device which has a hermetically sealed motor close-coupled to the
pump body. The whole assembly is submerged in the fluid to be
pumped.
A submersible pump is a pump that is able to be placed underwater
and still carry out its intended purpose.
A submersible water pump pushes water to the surface, instead of
sucking the water out of the ground.
10.
11. Working principle
Electrical submersible pumps (ESPs), much like vertical
turbine pumps in design, are typically used to pump liquid.
Essentially, an electric motor drives the pump, and the fluid's kinetic
energy is increased. This energy is then partly converted into
pressure, which lifts the fluid through the pump.
In video you will clearly see the working principle of ESP
12. Applications
Submersible pumps are found in many
applications.
Single stage pumps are used for drainage,
sewage pumping, general industrial
pumping and slurry pumping.
They are also popular with aquarium
filters.
Multiple stage submersible pumps are
typically lowered down a borehole and
used for water abstraction, water wells
and in oil wells.
Single stage pump
Aquarium
Multiple stage pump
13. Advantages
It is used in very deep wells where a long
shaft is not practical.
Unaffected by deviations in vertical
alignment of well.
More efficient than jet pumps.
It can be used in wells of diameter as
small as 15cm.
It is less noisy.
14. Disadvantages
The largest disadvantage of these pumps is that
you put it in the water. This means it will have a
shorter life because it is sitting in and sucking up
muck from your pond. It is also harder to clean
and maintenance because it is sitting on the
bottom of the pond.
There is the chance the pump will become
corroded and lose its seals, thus allowing liquid
to penetrate into the motor housing and causing
substantial damage to the unit.
