4. Classification of jet pump
There are four main type of jet pump,
which based on application and size.
 Deep well- deep well jet pump are used
in high volume application, such as oil
wells, which range from 800-15000 feet
in depth. The ejectors in these pumps
are put down the well.
 Shallow well pump- this pumps are
used in application where the media is
close to the surface, such as
residential wells. The ejectors in these
pumps are bolted to the nose of the
pump.

5.  Convertible jet pump- “convertible”
meaning they can be set up to be
used for either deep or shallow well
application.
 Miniature jet pump- this are used
for smaller (typically commercial)
application, such as aquariums.

6. Impellers are generally three types are as
follows:-
a) Open impeller:- open impeller have the
vanes free on both sides. Open impeller
are structurally weak. They are typically
used in Small-diameter.
b) Semi-closed impeller:- The vanes are free
on one side and enclosed on other. They
also offer higher efficiencies then open
impeller.
c) Close impeller:- The vanes are located
between two discs, they are used in large
pumps with high efficiencies and low

7. STAGES
There are three stage in jet pump
1) Single-stage pump:- It means that the pumps have
only one impeller, and the highest lift is 125 meters.
2) Double-stage pump:- It means that the pump have two
impellers.

 Motor : 0.5HP-1.5HP
 Power line : Single phase
 Head – 40 – 160 meters.
3) Multi-stage pump:- It means two or more impellers.
They can absorb and pressure water in different
levels and times, so that the water can be ascend to a
changed by increasing or decreasing the number of
stages of pump impeller.

8. Casing is large diameter pipe that is
assembled and inserted into a recently
drilled section of a borehole. Similar to
the bones of a spine protecting the spinal
cord, casing is set inside the drilled
borehole to protect and support the well
stream. The lower portion is typically
held in place with cement. Deeper strings
usually are not cemented all the way to
the surface, so the weight of the pipe
must be partially supported by a casing
hanger in the wellhead.

9. COUPLING
A coupling (or coupler) (used in piping or plumbing) is a very short length of
pipe or tube, with a socket at one or both ends that allows two pipes or
tubes to be joined, welded (steel), brazed or soldered (copper, brass etc.)
together.
