This document provides information about the Flamingo Apartment building located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is a 12 story high-rise apartment building with 23 dwellings. It has both one and two bedroom apartments. Communal spaces include a garden, outdoor cafe, laundry area, and parking. Vertical circulation is via elevator and stairwell. The building entrances are visible from the street and provide shelter. Balconies are provided for apartments above the ground level.

• It’s a modern apartment with 23 dwellings
living in it.

• The aspect depends on the views, orientation,
building access system… so depending on that
our apartment have a dual aspect.
• It is a single story building due to the desired
size of the apartment.
• The ground floor is mezzanine or a duplex.

identifiablefrom the street and directly accessible from
street level.
• Building entrances should provide pedestrian shelter.
• Apartments at street level should have a street address
and the number that have a front door directly acces
sible from the street should be maximized. Though
flamingo apartment does not fulfill much of the
recommended guides for good apartment it pretty
much considers the guide.

• Ventilation across the building is because of
the openings.

• As an apartment it is a mandatory to have a
communal spaces. Flamingo apartment have a
communal spaces like garden area, outdoor
café, utility space area like a laundry area in
the terrace, a car parking area for the
dwellers.

water tanks are also placed in the terrace

• All apartments above ground level should be
provided with an out door spaces ( balcony).
• This balcony should be directly accessible in
every private living area.
• Balconies up to two bed room apartment
should be provided with minimum 6 meter
square. Flamingo apartment fulfills this.

• All outlook spaces should be designed to high level of
amenity design and landscaping. In other word outlook
spaces should be provided
either over a street, publicly accessible space, pedes
trian link, the racetrack, or into the landscaped.
• Flamingo apartment’s outlook spaces is over the street
,public accessible space, and also the dwellers have a
good view of the city, with not much landscape.

• Apartments should be arranged to minimize
notice transmission between apartments

n noise within the apartment and to buffer nois

• The apartment is mostly surrounded by
buildings which are proportional to it in scale
wise. There openings are pretty much similar.
• Except the building being constructed at the
right side of the apartment. It is going to be 32
story building of a hotel which is not very
proportional to 12 story building.
