 Here we see the income status in the site, people
which work on the sand factory, truck drivers (
truckers) and the farmers ( have twice a year
price).
 The peoples living in this area are most farmers
and workers in the sand factory which is on the
site and neighbouring factory. This workers in
the factory are classified as low income workers.
 Low income - 24,000 birr
 Medium income - 120,000 birr
 High income - 178,800 birr
 Low income farmers have a maximum of 1
hectare land and they have one pair of ox.
 Medium income farmers have 5 - 10 pair of ox.
 High income farmers have tractor they work the
farming by using the tractor.
 When we see the living conditions of the farmers
they live on the site and some of them live near to
the site which is next to the main road.
 The housing condition of the farmers house have
a good condition.
 Minimum family size is 3
 Maximum family size is 10
 Average family size is 6
Age
Young
45 %
Elder
30 %
Children
25 %
House hold in a single family
 There is 264 house hold in the site.
 In order to get the population number
 Average family size × house hold
 6 × 264 = 2786
 So, the population number of the site is 2786.
P=po Xert
= 2786(3.8) (50)
= 2786 (0.038 X 50)
= 5293
= 5293+ 2786
Total Estimated Population Number
= 8079
 Drug
 Crime
 Unemployment
 The site is clear of crime and drug, instead there
is unemployment.
 There is 471 farm lands.
 They travel one place to another by using their foot
only.
 Maximum they travel around 2 kilometers from home
to job.
 Minimum they travel around 30 meters from home to
job
 How much hectare do the farmers have?
 The minimum hectare the farmers have is 500 sq.m/
0.05 hectare
 The maximum hectare the farmers have is 1.6 hectare.
 In one hectare area of farm land they get 12 quntal teff
in the first season and 15 quntal teff in the second
season overall they get 27 quntal teff per year.
 One farmer produce
Minimum = 1.5 quntal teff
Maximum = 43.2 quntal teff
Average= 22.35 quntal teff per hectare
 In current price if one quntal teff is equal to
8000 Eth.birr
1 quntal teff = 8000 birr
22.35 quntal teff= ?
22.35 × 8000
= 178,800 birr
 If one farmer get yearly income of 178,800 birr
within 20 years he get 3,576,000 birr.
 They have a working force system that they work
together (debo),and when the products are ready
to collect they work as a team for all of the
farming areas. then this products is taken to the
market by brokers from the selling market places.
 Near by river.
 besides an Industrial park.
 Have a moderate climate conditions.
 Have a good soil type for agriculture.
 The site have good production of teff.
 No social problem ( crime, drugs).
 Have an electric line along the site.
 The peoples in the site have good energy for
farming and proactive.
 Lack of social infrastructure.
 Distance to the city center.
 No proper access in the site.
 low vegetation coverage.
 Lack of public transportations.
 The site is not active place.
 No proper access in the site.
 There is no near by development.
 Noise pollution from the airport.
 Open for future development.
 Near by main road.
 Water supply from the river.
 Near by raw construction materials.
 Adjacent to a Polluted river.
 There is no near by development around the site.
 Have Noise pollution from the airport could
affect future development.
 low vegetation coverage.
 Lack of transportation.
 Its besides the airport (Noise pollution, Building
Height restrictions).
 Far from the city center.
 No proper access in the site.
 Lack of near by infrastructure.
 Have a fertile soil type for agriculture.
 The peoples in the site have good energy for
farming and proactive.
 Have an access to physical infrastructure electric
line.
 Have a moderate climate conditions.
 Have a potential for development ( near by river
and industrial park).
 The peoples have good social interaction and
proactive.
 The site have good potential for development.
 Behind the airport.
 Lack of near by infrastructure and
transportation.
 Low vegitation coverage.
 When we see the income status of the site peoples
there are some people's which work on the
factory(yearly income 24,000) , truck drivers (
truckers) (yearly income 120,000) and the
farmers (yearly income 178,800).
 Our site is based on agricultural products and the
only source of income for the people of the area is
farming and transportation of the products. The
people eagerness and need for a job came up with
providing an industry that can be an input to the
farm and create a job opportunity and a good
income for the people around the site
 One of the key factor for the development of a
country and creating a moderate living condition
is having a country with a good job opportunity
and places to work. This can moderate the rising
living costliness for developing countries.
 factors of demand for the agricultural products
and the rise of living costliness are the lack of
employment in an areas, challenges related to
providing adequate basic infrastructure to a
growing number of unplanned low income urban
settlements.
 Ethiopia is rich in agricultural products, but is in
need of know-how for food processing. Most
products are exported as pure raw materials and do
not generate any local added value in the country
itself.
 There is a lack of knowledge and modern
technology for the profitable processing of these
products in Ethiopia. For this reason, contract
farming concepts are not yet widespread in
Ethiopia, although there is a great need for them,
especially for the country’s mills. This is where
European companies with appropriate expertise
have great market opportunities.
 Ethiopia’s economy has grown by an average of
10.7 % per year over the last ten years. This is
more than twice as much as the African average
south of the Sahara in the same period (5.1%).
At the same time, agriculture accounts for 41
percent of Ethiopia’s gross domestic product.
 Agriculture plays an important role in Ethiopian
society. Around 80 percent of the population
are small farmers, and agriculture accounts for
41 percent of the gross domestic product. In the
so-called “high potential areas” of Ethiopia,
considerable productivity increases are possible,
which could also be used to supply other parts
of the country or even make Ethiopia a net food
exporter.
 An environment with well designed framework,
sustainable modern farming, and living based
on industry In 2065 E.C.
1. An environment with well designed framework.
2. Sustainable modern farming.
3. Living based on industry.
1. An environment with well designed framework.
 Create adequate social infrastructure.
 physical infrastructure.
 transportation.
 Create enough transportation stations in street
through out the site.
2. Sustainable modern farming.
 Use the existing river water from the site.
 Collecting rain water in winter.
 Cerate a modern farming system.
 Bringing a direct collaboration of farmers and
site residents to the customer.
3. living based on industry.
 The industry is food based processor.
 Creating a employment system for the site
residents.
 Using the industry as an income source for the
people of the site.
 Collaborating the people of the site based on the
ability and talents to contribute for the industry.
1. We provide three phases:-
 In the first phase we properly manage the area as
agricultural areas suitable for modern farming,
hosing and industrial area
 The second phase is:- provide a housing for the
farmers and employers for the future industrial
development
 The Third phase is:- planting the food processing
industry around the farm and nearby housing.
this include a storage and selling units for the
products of the industry.
Timing for the above phases…
 Phase one could take 1-2 years, this range of time
is framed considering the announcement and
professions on development process.
 Phase two would take 1 and half year. this is by
considering the construction policy and strategy.
 Phase three is also dependent on the
construction time frame. this time is estimated
around 2 years.
 The whole process takes around 5 and half years
range.
 The main financing participants will be the
farmers and the occupants of the site. this is by
taking some percentage of their interest and
reinvesting on the modern farming plan.
 The second will be different investors in the
country and around the world. We can attract
this investors by briefing the proposed business
plan and creating a shared partnership for
mutual benefits.
 The first phase described on above slides will be
funded by the farmers capital based on their
financial capitals.
 The second phase is funded by the profit gained
by the sells of the products made from modern
farming.
 The third phase is funded by the different
investors who want to involve in the food
processing industry.
ADAPTIVE
 Definition:-having an ability to change to suit
changing condition.
 relating to the way that a living thing changes
slightly over time so it can continue to exist in
particular environment.
 we want to adapt the existing land uses to the
future development which is the industrial
development by creating a beneficial for both the
site(environment) and the people in a mutual
way.
