This document outlines the process of creating a magazine cover and film poster from photographs. It describes how the creator took multiple photos and adjusted them to merge into a final image for each piece. Backgrounds were altered and effects like twilight were added. Inspiration from research on real magazines and posters informed the layout, additional details, and design choices for both the magazine cover and film poster.

without the focal
point of one of
my actors so as
to create a
background to
graft the other
merged images
onto to avoid the
appearance of
unnatural
shadows.

the hue and
saturation to

effect of
twilight, or even
night time
within the
image.

the Film Poster
but later remade
it into the
magazine front
cover feature as I
felt the image
would suit the
normal style for
the front cover
image, as
discovered in my
research of film
magazines such
as Empire and
Total Film.

effective for the
poster as it was

the character in

watched by the
unknown adding
additional horror
to the image.

11. This is my final Film Poster. I added extra, significant details such as
the age certificate, review star ratings and disclaimer at the bottom
in order to give the poster a more authentic appearance. I made
these decisions based on my research into other film posters.
I decided to change
the tag line from the
originally chosen “If
you go down to the
woods tonight you’d
better not go alone”
to “you can RUN…
but you can’t HIDE”
as it links more with
the image of the
poster and is a
shorter and more
concise tag line
therefore easier for
an audience to
remember.
